Welcome to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast. We are here in prime time Aquarian season, where we have a some type of topic today. This actually was brought forth by some of your panelists. If you recall our episode, we were just kind of brainstorming what we're doing this year. This came up and we finally decided to do this topic. And it's going to be a doozy. The panelists that we have on board are some of the uh most you know uh uh eccentric, uh uh uh uh thought-provoking, uh artistic, uh uh just just mean talkers, uh passion-filled individuals that when you give them a topic that they really want to talk about, these people will give it to you for a couple of hours. And I mean that in all senses of the words. So uh uh let's begin.
SPEAKER_09In the criminal.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god.
SPEAKER_09Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, I gotta go. I'm sorry. Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. In the black nerd community, hater-based defenses to great characters are considered especially heinous. An elite podcast known as the blurred spectrum actively defends these cases of whack opinions from the court of basic blurred opinion. These are the defenses. Don't make this up.
SPEAKER_07So today we have our panelists here to both be your legal defenders, your your your jury, your prosecution, and they are going to prosecutioners. Uh no, that that's not what we're doing today. We can't do that at all.
SPEAKER_09But we are here though. We can kill a couple people.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god. We're here to talk about specific characters that have not gotten the best type of raps. We're talking about characters that we may hold dear. We're also talking about characters that you may like that we feel like you shouldn't. And we're going to give you a little bit of that juice. Okay. So here are our panelists, starting with myself, your moderator, Suchino Shogun. We have uh the Doctor. That's good. We have Miss Sayone Cosplay. Oh, we have the Black McCoy. Uh we have Ms Skittles.
SPEAKER_06Hello.
SPEAKER_07And we have Kaze Shinryu. Hola. So these six, including myself, panelists, have uh different roles for for today's proceedings. And uh, we would like to hope that you can follow along. And uh, I I you know I've said before, you know, give us your feedback on social media, but I really feel like this episode more than others, you're gonna give us your feedback via social media. So prepare because it will begin. Uh, because this is also their birthday episode. I thought it would be uh polite to allow them to go first. Uh so the black McCoy, whom are you either defending or whom are you trying to prosecute?
SPEAKER_09Damn. Wait, am I allowed to do one of each if it since it's my birthday?
SPEAKER_07Uh we'll circle back to it after you do the first.
SPEAKER_09So I have to pick, and then you're gonna tell me what if I can later.
SPEAKER_07I the way you're making it seem like it, you're gonna make us do it anyway, so just pick one now.
SPEAKER_09Well, um I'm gonna do the the the easiest, and uh that is my my defense. My defense. Um, I would like to call Avatar Cora to the stand. Yes, Avatar Cora to the stand. I think the entire panel knew that I was going to call Avatar Cora to the stand. Yes.
SPEAKER_07Um, as many as this is Avatar Cora from Avatar, the legend of Korra, correct?
SPEAKER_09I get yes, yes, it is uh Avatar Nickelodeons, Avatar. Nickelodeons, uh Legend of Korra uh of the Southern Water Tribe. Yes, absolutely. Um first I would like to make my appeal to the court. Um Avatar Cora has gotten a lot of blowback um from the uh nerd community in general, not even just the black nerd community. Um some have heavily criticized her uh her behavior, her, her, her process, her trauma, a lot of the things that she went through in a very difficult way, very difficult way. And um I I my my appeal to you all today is that those those criticisms are unwarranted and they are entirely hypocritical. Um so the my I would like to first present exhibit A. Exhibit A is going to be the claim that Korra is, um, what are my notes say? Excuse me. Um that Korra is hot-headed, uh irrational, uh she gets her ass beat too much, uh, makes mistakes, et cetera. So um I would like to examine these claims, right? Uh so usually uh a lot of the people who say this their favorite anime protagonists are the exact same way. Um, I can't think of a any time. I I can only think of a handful of times where Aaron wasn't getting his ass dog walked across the three walls. Um as a type of our boy Yusuke was easily taken out by a car, so I don't know what y'all expect from him.
SPEAKER_05And we're gonna get a couple of you, you know what? Don't do that.
SPEAKER_07People people loved people love to love he, but uh he was also extremely uh extremely hot-headed, as well as uh oh, you're lucky there isn't a jets, because I would I want to say I could have sworn this was a defense, not an assault on the characters of others, but go ahead, continue.
SPEAKER_09First of all, not assaulting anyone, just stating the facts. Thank you very much. Um, people also love to love Vegeta, who's also gotten his ass dog walked across many episodes and many arcs, and is still very hot-headed, and uh, although as a character, absolutely deserves better. But the facts are the facts, are they not? She probably deserves it.
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna leave it alone. I mean, I love I love Cora too. So um, but like, why you gotta go on Vegeta like that?
SPEAKER_09I have already I have already made it very clear that Vegeta deserves better. Vegeta has always deserved better. He he is hotheaded, yes, but he puts a little bit more thought into the things that he does. Not a lot, but some. Should he have killed Cell? Yes, absolutely. Should he have should he should he have been doing a ton of power off of his pride?
SPEAKER_07Absolutely. I'm feeling like you know how people like pick out those like gangster pictures you took from um from MySpace back in the day when they want to talk about your character on the news, when they want to make the black people look bad. That's what it seems like you're doing. You're picking all the bad situations. Um people made good choices too.
SPEAKER_09I mean, I'm not listening I'm not saying that these characters that I'm drawing my evidence from are terrible. I too enjoy these same characters, however, we do not victimize them for the same reasons Cora has been victimized. This brown skinned woman is experiencing a level of violence that these other characters, guilty of the same crimes, guilty of the exact same crimes, do not get the same amount of shit for. Do you agree or disagree?
SPEAKER_07This is an open question?
SPEAKER_09It is an open question.
SPEAKER_00I agree, I agree, I agree. Um yeah, I I don't got no, I don't got no I agree because um if I mean if we're if we're comparing Cora to half of the uh protagonists, the the male protagonists of anime, then we we on spot, we on point, like we right there, neck and neck.
SPEAKER_04I agree, I definitely agree. Um, you know, and the evidence that you had brought forth to the court was incredibly accurate. And because Cora is one of the few, if not maybe the only female protagonist of color that I can think of that had their own show, um it and they were judged very harshly compared to other non black or non-person of color, um, so so to speak. So I do agree with that statement.
SPEAKER_09Exhibit B.
SPEAKER_07Hold on, hold on. Uh uh, the doctor Kaze, did you also have feedback?
SPEAKER_10Um, yeah, I mean, I'm inclined to agree. I say inclined because I don't know enough about Cora to really strongly agree, but um the argument definitely makes sense to me. And it's something that we see with really a lot of like femme-coded characters and a lot of brown brown characters in general, kind of this double standard on how they're evaluated. Um, the hot-headed thing in particular, that's a really common, like, you know, femme-coded thing, like women being, you know, oh, just excessively hot-headed and you know, they can't handle their emotions or make good decisions and whatnot. So I'm generally inclined to so I would agree, but also the caveat that you know my knowledge of core is pretty limited at best. So okay.
SPEAKER_03Um yeah, no, mostly uh mostly on that. I I think I think a lot I think a lot of uh I think a lot of people's uh perceptions uh of core can kind of be more pointed towards uh how they write her and how people were ready to receive and pay attention to that and less about core to sell. Uh I mean about the hot head things specifically. They you know, she does show up on the she does show up like Kool-Aid Man.
SPEAKER_06She does, she absolutely does.
SPEAKER_03So I think I think that's just an image.
SPEAKER_09But the oh yeah, turned it into an oh no very quickly.
SPEAKER_03It does. So yes, I think so. So yeah, so I think I think that was supposed to fade away if you were paying attention, but you know, we know we know what people aren't good at.
SPEAKER_07Um as much as I don't want to just blindly agree, uh, due to your due to your assault on other uh due to your assaults on I love to speak, please let me speak due to your assaults on other characters' character. Uh, I will say that the uh box in which many people placed uh Avatar Cora uh during her tenure as the avatar on television uh was misplaced. The advertising.
SPEAKER_09Um do not forget her graphic novels as well. She had television and graphic novels. Thank you.
SPEAKER_07Thank you, prosecutor. Um I have to agree that uh the way you have to watch. I will uh abstain from repeating myself. Um I will state that her character was uh uh tarnished by those in several communities based off of uh comparisons to other characters, but I'll allow you to continue with your evidence.
SPEAKER_09Okay. Um exhibit B, um the uh the fallacious comparison. Um I want to thank you, um Councilman Suchi no Shogun um for that wonderful segue into her comparison to other characters because there's another pivotal character that she was compared to and seen as inferior towards with no substantial validation, and that is seeing calling her inferior to the one and only bald busy bomber Avatar Aang.
SPEAKER_06Y'all did not hear the air barely escaped my eyes laughing.
SPEAKER_09You wanna know why we could barely hear the air? Because Zaheer was in there whipping that shit out in the same way he did to the Earth Queen.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_09Please continue with your your your Yeah, so Exhibit B, uh this fallacious comparison between uh two individuals who are entirely separate people, um, only spiritually connected by someone who was at them in the first place. But you know what? We're going to we're going to move forward. So um in this instance, uh Avatar Cora is compared to have been less uh effective, right? Or or worse at her quote unquote job uh or duty, moral duty as Avatar, uh, due to the way in which she conducted herself. Now, uh, I want us to all remember that when we met uh Avatar Aang, uh the young 12-year-old, I'm sorry, young 112-year-old child who ran away from his responsibilities as Avatar initially, thus kicking off his entire story in the first place, was uh put in a higher standard than a 16-year-old brown girl who uh was very excited to take on her newly found, discovered responsibility as the Avatar. Uh, she was not as spiritually inclined. Oh, of course not. She was not raised as a um a monk. Uh, she was uh of the Southern Water tribe and she was actually a very skilled combatant. Uh Eng himself was a pacifist. Uh his fighting his fighting style was extremely avoidant uh and heavily tied down to make sure that uh the jury hears that the word evasive is a better use for his fighting style.
SPEAKER_07Thank you.
SPEAKER_09Avoidant, evasive, sure. The prosecution. Uh uh, we we acknowledge that. We acknowledge it. Um thank you. Yes, well, angstyle was evasive, evasive. Um, but he also tried to avoid conflict as much as possible. Uh, that is a different person altogether in the same way that uh Avatar Roku, as well as Avatar Kyoshi, uh known bad bitch of the the island, uh Kyoshi Island, who did not go out of her way to avoid conflict in the way that she did. Um now, as uh people love to applaud Aang, he found a way to stick to his values of being non-violent, uh barely, uh mind you, uh, because that Avatar State almost took out Ozai real quick. That slash was coming down. You saw all four of those elements tied into one single strike, but Aang said no, good on him. However, you should not expect the same of someone who's not a monk, someone who's not raised to be a pacifist, someone who was not raised in a nation or by a nation that for all intents and purposes was dead and still just trying to rebirth itself. There were no monks in the Southern Water Tribe that we know of. Now, uh the expectation that Korra should somehow still maintain the values of Avatar Aang because she was reincarnated is a false ideal. Because Aang did not maintain the same values that Roku did, nor Kiyoshi, nor Yang Chen, and especially not Avatar Kirk, who didn't do a whole lot when he was Avatar. So, I mean, he did do a lot of things, but you know, based on the based on the show canon, that's what we're gonna run off of. Okay. Also, uh we also have to acknowledge that it was by um, excuse me, I'm going to transition into exhibit C. It was by the uh the mistakes of Aang that uh Avatar Cora had to deal with many of her problems. So if we examine the state of Republic City, if we examine the state of the world which Avatar Aang left it in, right, he uh he and uh Fire Lord at the time, Zuko, uh they procured some Earth Kingdom land for Republic City, right? Um, trying to trying to not avoid, but trying to, you know, um assuage the issues of the Fire Nation colonization during the Hundred Year War, um, on top of which we see uh a number of different benders and non-benders coming to live together. However, once we put all of those people in one place, we noticed the glaring inequalities and oppression that came from non-benders, uh came from benders to non-benders, right? And we also were able to see how that was systemically the uh the representation of the liberation of non-benders was systemically tied to uh benders, specifically bloodbenders, specifically the one bloodbender that Aang did not eliminate and allowed to procreate and allowed abilities to continue to manifest themselves in the rest of the in the world, and thus creating more problems that Korra herself would have to deal with later on. On top of that, on top of that, procuring land from a nation underlying turtles, indivisible, liberty, and justice, I'm kidding. Uh but uh procuring land that she would later have to defend and reclaim uh from the the while very very oddly arousing and attractive Kuvira um and her tyrannical despotic ways. Um it is because of Kuvira's uh desire to unite the Earth Kingdom once more, that Republic City again came under fire. It is also because of Aang's the ripple effects, excuse me, of Aang's mistakes, of which, you know, we can acknowledge that he was not actively aware of, but you know, the ripple effects are the ripple effects that uh the red lotus continue to thrive. Um, and that is partially due to his mismanagement of the White Lotus and dissolving them as an underground organization that was most effective. Um actually helped him end the 100-year war.
SPEAKER_07But decided to Prosecutor McCoy, uh, at this point in time, we feel as though you have strayed from defending uh Avatar Cora to uh continuously attacking the actions of Avatar uh Aang uh and stating that uh he is the cause for uh all of the things that uh Avatar Cora has gone through. If you have not another point that will drive towards the uh defense of Avatar Core, we'd like you to get back on uh the defense of her rather than the uh assaults on the character of Avatar Aang.
SPEAKER_09I would like to object to the defensiveness of Councilman Suchino Shogun. Um, the points that I am making are very relevant, and if you would allow me to continue on, I will truncate for your convenience. Um the point, Councilman Suchino Shogun, being that the criticism that somehow uh Avatar Cora is less effective of an Avatar than Avatar Aang is uh a horrible point and not a logically sound one either, largely because the mistakes that they claim she made as Avatar do definitely pale. Well, I will not say pale, but they are not somehow worse or better than the decisions that Avatar Aang made during his time frame as Avatar, even though he got extra time because he ran away for a while. Anyway, exhibit C. And this will be my final, this will be my final point. That was your exhibit C. That wasn't my exhibit C. That would be you stated it was your exhibit C at the beginning of it. Okay, we'll go to exhibit D then. Excuse me. My final point, exhibit D. Um Aang had a lot of struggles.
SPEAKER_01The the the the the fact that he's trying to remain in this in this character.
SPEAKER_03Oh they're they're not trying.
SPEAKER_01I'm like cracking up.
SPEAKER_05Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_09Um, my final point. I would like to I would like the council and the the court to acknowledge that um Avatar Corps had a substantial number of threats, particularly life um and world um ending threats or world disruptive threats that uh Avatar and did not have to deal with. Um I would be uh I find it opportune as well as uh necessary to acknowledge that the threats that she dealt with uh far. exceeded that of Avatar A. If we I would like to present the evidence for this uh particular point if the if the if the court will allow I I allow it. Thank you councilman Skittles it would need to be a majority vote.
SPEAKER_06Excuse me.
SPEAKER_07The doctor would you allow it? Yeah go for it. Cause I shin read you with me jury you may proceed.
SPEAKER_09Uh councilman Shogun what what is your vote?
SPEAKER_07I said majority.
SPEAKER_09I'm not um it's not necessary for me to give my wouldn't be the first minority you be um anyhow anyway um uh my evidence for this point um first we have uh amon we have a bloodbender whose psychic psychic bloodbending ability was so intense that no one was able to handle his not only combative style but also his uh political style as well um amon was not only able to manipulate uh others bending ability but he was also able to manipulate the people in a way that avatar ang could not right he was able to develop an entire movement that was able to sub not only subjugate but overthrow the government at the time in Republic City. Next we have Unalak ah yes Unalak the dark avatar himself we have a being who is capable of spirit bending an ability we did not see Aang ever have to master or learn in our in all honesty um calming angry spirits in the way that Unalak did um as well as being able to manipulate um his own bending style in order to not only free but um a lot completely fuse with uh the dark spirit Vatu another extremely powerful entity that uh Aang also did not have to deal with a threat that I will remind the remind the court almost destroyed the entire world um and even Kor's feet to defeat him far exceeded anything that we have seen Aang do. Even without Rabba at her side um avatar Kor proved herself as being extremely powerful and capable by projecting her own spiritual energy sans Rabba to not only rip her from the core of the dark avatar himself but also and I I say this with the utmost articulation whoop that ass back to the spirit world and seal him back for another 10,000 years. Third we have the red lotus a series of four of the most deadliest benders in the world one of whom was able to tap into the ancient airbending powers that Aang nor Tenzin were able to touch. Now this does not undermine the fact that Tenzin was a stronger bender but spiritually Zaheer surpassed him in no in a number of ways as well as surpassed Unalok and not only was able to fully traumatize Korra uh which was a larger allegory for those who don't how don't know how to read or watch things whose literacy levels have an issue you know George Bush left some kid students behind we all know that um but uh this the the the allegory of uh sexual assault and trauma that she experienced from being poisoned as well as the loss of the feeling of control that she had the red lotus took all of that away from her and not only that paralyzed her for a number of years for a number of years and even after all of that she was able to bounce back remove the poison with some aid of course you know some guidance and take on Kuvira and a giant platinum mech she took on a platinum gundam with a whole spirit vine gun and um I would like to ask councilman uh Kaze uh do you remember what happened uh at the end of that entire arc with that giant spirit gun do you remember that that feat that uh avatar core did what what can you uh relay that to the rest of the court um councilman shogun looks a little um exhausted so I would like someone else to explain to him what occurred in those moments uh if I uh remember correctly she uh uh completely diverted that massive spiritual energy uh canon that the that the mech uh uh much much much like uh they they divert uh lightning uh absolutely uh avatar cora uh and i would like to remind the court as well as the listeners avatar cora was able to bend she was able to raw dog a giant ass beam of spiritual energy and not only stop it she didn't just uh redirect it uh council pencast she was able to bend it entirely and dissipate it and in doing so opened a brand new spirit portal in the middle of Republic City so not only was the least spiritual avatar that we have known thus far able to not to bend spiritual energy in a way number of ways but she was also able to manipulate it in such a powerful way that she continued to do the thing that no other avatar has been able to do and that is speculation um that we have no substantial evidence that any other avatar has been able to do since the first avatar avatar one is it speculation um it's not speculation avatar one closed off the um human world and the spirit world and disconnect regarding things that have happened after core this is speculation thank you okay because avatar core is the most recent avatar we had none other to refer to she is I agree with all saying in terms of answer books and things that happen on television I'm saying this is speculation please keep it within the panels of what we're discussing which is the defense of Avatar Cora thank you I am if you would let me finish Councilman Tsushinoshogo I I thoroughly appreciate it. She was able to bring balance back to the spiritual realm as well as the non-spiritual realm by not only connecting them and bringing the spirits into the fold but also giving Republic City its own spirit portal in the middle of the world rather than just the North Pole and the South Pole.
SPEAKER_07Not to mention diverting a civil war between the North and South Pole and but you know the defense rests are there any oppositions to the defense's information that they've given regarding the accusations and the attacks on the character as well as the ain't shit I'd like to object to the the status of the word attack um I feel like reclaiming my time have there been any defenses against reclaiming my are there any defenses against the statements that have been made by prosecutor mccoy in regards to the character uh debilitation by the nerd community against Avatar Quora I will go through each of our panelists to verify starting with Kaze Shinryu do you have any opposition to the statements made by Prosecutor McCoy um no no no no uh no direct opposition uh most mostly uh largely uh I'll I'll just say I think uh I think I think a lot of the a lot of the claims that the other avatars weren't able to do stuff like I think that's a bit unfair and only that they would had to be put in a position in a position where they would have had to do such thing and then fail and that's not what happened like core was you know is it's is it's not like core went out and solved a solved that like whole it like very specific things happen and then she solved those things in the way she could as those things happen.
SPEAKER_03And you know and and that's not and that's not the taking thing you know away from her I just don't want to we we didn't we didn't specifically see other people trying something like nope. Can't do it. And uh and not in no no yeah no that's not a defensive I I th I think I think I think uh I think I think uh the thing the difference between cora and a lot of the uh um shows we watched is that um the uh not like not not only did did I think that the writers were interested in just not wanting to do the same show again I think the I think they wanted the writing to grow up along with the people who watched the show because because Avatar was still despite despite being beautifully written was still you know the main demographic was still children and uh and and core was definitely aimed at like a at a you know bit older younger you know younger teen uh audience so I think a lot of the I think a lot of people went in expecting the exact same you know writing style and and a lot of the you know in a very similar characterization and and in that assumption kind of just missed a lot of things from in like it like it like the black McCoy said people are not good at consuming the media or information in general.
SPEAKER_10It's like I tell my classes literacy is not just reading it's being able to watch and listen and comprehend various forms of media and um as much as we love our community it's not their strongest uh skill yeah but nope nope uh yeah no Sasonad uh major degree one beautifully made points okay thank you uh subject matter expert the doctor uh do you have any any uh defenses uh do you have any defenses against against the uh the black people expert is the chorologist you know I think the points were well made and it definitely makes sense to me um and I'm definitely much more familiar with Ang, you know, that's who I know that's you know I only got so far into the legend of Korra but um all the points you know the black boys made do make sense to me and I think that you know so I'm inclined to also agree.
SPEAKER_07Uh prosecutor Skittles uh uh do you have oh do you have prosecutor skittles and I was like peace kids peace kids wow uh do you have any opposition the evidence that was her name on the phone right now to Peace Gits about Prosecutor McCoy um no I I have no I have no um legal eject uh objections or rebuttals to the facts that were presented I am very much in agreement um with prosecutor McCoy on um yes on Quora.
SPEAKER_00Okay I stand by it.
SPEAKER_07All right and uh jury we know that you are you know come you are a uh a panel of many all bundled into one uh that uh has uh not the most information on the uh avatar lineage but based off of the evidence that's been presented by prosecutor McCoy uh what say you regarding the attack on Cora's uh uh character her uh uh being stated to be uh enable to carry the duties and her comparisons to Avatar Aang do you feel like she should be uh uh what's the word I want to use uh should she be uh placed in a better light what say you I I am in agreement with uh attorney uh McCoy uh for the evidence that was brought to um the court and and to uh the jury and uh we are in agreement um with uh attorney McCoy uh the facts are the facts um you know and and I am uh unbiased uh or we are the uh unbiased uh you know jury so I I do agree uh with uh attorney mccoy thank you jury representative siron councilman no shogun yes your your position is councilman Suchino shogun thank you so we will move forward with the uh next defense uh based off of a character and the next individual who will defend their character is Ms. Skittles uh we know that you have been uh uh preparing for this particular defense for quite some time uh you have uh a couple of eyewitnesses actually that you would like to call on during this particular defense uh so we will allow you to go next and to prepare uh to defend uh your individual character you have the floor well i didn't first first of all i i eyewitnesses why when eyewitnesses now we're speaking of located um who i don't know why i got real nervous all of a sudden but so my character is very controversial i have seen this conversation many times in uh the blurred space um what i mean on both sides actually i've seen both sides of the conversation um so yes okay so the the character i am putting on trial today and defending is uh Hisoka from Hunter Hunter so many uh I have seen the argument go both ways um as far as as far as the character um being a a pedophile and then as far as um the character is just that that's just his overall like bloodlust um so I am defending the bloodlust um I am defending the bloodlust and I and I want to make it very clear because I know the definition of uh a pedophile and I know it it means to have you know some sexual fantasy or desire that involves a child now in in the world of anime there are many many characters who exhibit bloodlust which is the uncontrollable desire to kill um there are many characters who are sadomasochists um and and we either love them or we hate them um villains and heroes alike um we have seen bloodlust in uh character uh our some of our favorite uh protagonists such as Naruto uh we've even seen bloodlust from gone um and then we've seen um we've seen other characters that we love to hate or or just or or love them maybe I don't know uh I for one I'm not gonna say I love Hisoka but I I do I do like his character I like his character design I like his back background backstory um and all that so in comparison I mean we have other characters like uh Reza from uh Tokyo Ghoul uh Elsa from ReZero technically based off of if we're if we're getting into the weeds of things uh Elsa would be a Hisoka because she she's she's um a grown ass woman and she bloodlust over killing uh many young people in ReZero so technically she would be a pedophile because um based off of this this logic yes yes based off of this logic because she has the the uncontrollable sadomasochist desire to kill um people who who are technically children um so um and then we have a card from Hellsing we got stain from my hero academia like all of these characters have exhibited um they they just have the desire to kill niggas and and it's and it's almost orgasmic or if if not orgasmic um so is one of those characters um who has uh exhibited as actually Elsa too where and and they've zoomed in we've we've gotten we've gotten the visuals where they licking their lips when they come across you know somebody who's who's fucking strong as hell and they're ready like they're ready to to um to fight these niggas they're ready to to you know go in um just the the sheer fact that this person is either strong enough to possibly hurt them or they are strong enough to to hurt you know them um is just like I said it's orgasmic um for them like that that's that's just their experience with things so um I just feel like a lot of people I don't know why people just come for Hisoka.
SPEAKER_00I I feel like it's because Hunter Hunter is a popular anime and and he's maybe one of the I'm not gonna say the first because we've seen it before hell there are people out here watching uh intergalactical fucking hentai and there's whole ass rape scenes and that shit. So um a matter of fact just to name a few yeah exhibit you know whatever number I'm on uh we got we've got uh animes like uh where rape has been in that fucking anime uh ninja scroll berserk uh goblin slayer hellsing all of these are are and and people go to back for some of these characters um I'm gonna use this one specifically as an example because I have a friend who dies on the hill anytime anybody mentions Griffith but berserk um somebody um but yeah so so going back to problematic shit in anime we see it all the time people people um if that honestly if if this man is considered uh a pedophile then um and this is and we're looking at this as this is like entertainment dog like we're looking at like that's like looking at actors in movies and some of our favorite actors at that in movies where they play bad people and being like oh that nigga racist oh he's definitely a pedophile oh he just like I just I just can't take entertainment and then be like oh yeah you know because I like this character that that makes me a pedophile too like I just I I can't look at it that way because it's fantasy um and and I think I think that's where it should be Kept, but of course, you know, people people take things to the extreme. In my opinion, they take things to the extreme and then they try to apply fantasy to everyday life, and that's not the purpose of fantasy. Like it's it's literally not the point. Like, I don't I don't dress up in cosplay, you know, because I want to be like this person in everyday life. I no, I I enjoy the character, I like their backstory. I and and I like making the shit, so it doesn't necessarily mean like because this character acts a certain way or does this, um, and I like their character or backstory or style that um I'm definitely down for shit. Like, no. Nah. Um, so yeah. I think he gets a bad rap because he's in a popular anime. And he bloodlusted after um two two very young nin Nin users who who he knew that literally in the in the um in the first arc, why I forget names and shit. Um in the first arc, when we see when we see Hassoka, he literally tells Gone to to become a stronger hunter. Um specifically because he won. He he's looking at this man already. And again, he's a child. Uh but gone goes on to to in fact during his bloodlust becomes a whole ass adult immediately. Becomes a whole ass adult in his bloodlust.
SPEAKER_09Um, and the gag isoko did not know what was going on in that arc.
SPEAKER_11Didn't know none of this shit happened. Mad as hell, he missed right, right.
SPEAKER_09And then after it all after all the shit happened, uh he was like, nigga, do uh Elamin was like, nigga, do you not watch the news?
SPEAKER_00Like, how did you like even the phantom troop was dealing with these ants, like right, but because you know Hissoka be skipping out on meetings and shit.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_00Um but yeah, but and then a lot, I feel like a lot of people ignore the fact that Hissoka like they stuck on the fact that he bloodlusted after going in Killawa, but they completely skipped over the fact that he also did a Recrollo too.
SPEAKER_09Um and Nithero.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay, yep. Oh yes, yes, yeah, yeah, you're right, you're right. So um, but these are all grown grown people. Uh so hisoka's bloodlust, um, I I guess we're I don't want to again, it's not the first because we we've seen Elsa on re-zero, but we see we see this man's bloodlust um that's non-discriminatory. He don't care about age, sex, none of that. He's if if you're if you're fucking if you if you know, like the fact that the fact that he thinks he can inflict pain on a strong ass individual, or that individual can inflict pain on him, it is orgasmic for him, period. Like it doesn't matter who the fuck you are. And and and that's where I feel like people get it, people get the get the shit little fucked up. Like, um, I'm not gonna sit here and you know, like invalidate people's feelings because I I I see like I can see where they're can get it from, but at the same time, um one, you watch anime, it's fantasy. We've seen many characters that you fucking love, Naruto, Gong, uh like other I mean there's there's so many um that that go into this bloodlust phase and it it doesn't even it doesn't matter who you are. Like kill they're they're they're they enjoy killing and some of them enjoy it to the point that they feel sexual desire from it. Um not necessarily that it mattered if you were uh a teenager or not. So um yeah.
SPEAKER_07Okay. So of course your your eyewitnesses did chime in, uh the black McCoy and Kaze, uh since they both uh watched the show, yes, uh, and were able to uh chime in when necessary.
SPEAKER_11She was like, who are these witnesses? Like, what?
SPEAKER_09I mean, that was curious the damn stuff, I'm not gonna lie to you.
SPEAKER_07So uh of course, uh as before, I'm going to go around our panelists and then the the jury to uh determine whether or not there is a opposition to the points that were made uh by Ms. Skittles. And I will start this time.
SPEAKER_00Wait, I feel like I have one more, I I feel like I have one more thing. So so for the for the people who are who are transitioning fantasy into real life, um, we had like a small mini discussion before we got to this podcast. But um when people um I want to say I guess not myself included fantasize about anime characters um that are most likely underage. Um does that make you a I'm just asking because uh we matter of fact, the most recent character I can think of is Nesco. She um grew up a little bit, she got a little ass and titties, and now niggas going crazy.
SPEAKER_09Um but again and the guy was giving her ass and titties beforehand, it was still just like all apart.
SPEAKER_00But but even still, anime over sexualizes female characters all the time. We've seen this everywhere. It's I mean, there's lit, it's literally called fan service. So we can hear it from Are you are you a pedo? I just want to not a pedo.
SPEAKER_09I don't think they can, I don't think they can hear you over the sound of the table shaking.
SPEAKER_00Big part of the project. Uh I just want to know, like is does that make you because I'm just asking. I'm just asking for purchases.
SPEAKER_07I feel I feel like I feel like that additional question uh puts a little bit of uh of a spin on your original defense of uh Husoka. It may potentially scare some of the uh listeners who may want to uh give their points on social media, but I know our panelists are not afraid.
SPEAKER_09Uh so if Husoka is a pedophile, are you also a pedophile for lusting over uh teenagers?
SPEAKER_00Right. That was that's the question.
SPEAKER_09Animated or otherwise?
SPEAKER_00That was that was animated or otherwise, yes.
SPEAKER_09Why'd you say that?
SPEAKER_07I mean because they needed to hear it reiterated before they forgot. I mean, I understand that, but you could at least wait to say the question until I called him, which I was about to do, but now I have to give somebody. I'm joking. Go ahead. The Black McCoy. Do you have an opposition to uh Miss Skittle's uh defense of Hissoka?
SPEAKER_09Um no, I have I have no oppositions. Um, I too am a lover of Hisoka and recognize that Mike, like many characters that we all know and love, his obsession with the main character stems from his own drip self-driven interests, um, much like characters like The Joker and other characters that he's been inspired by, who have been um sadistic clown-like characters, Kefka from uh Final Fantasy included.
SPEAKER_06Uh yes.
SPEAKER_09Yes, from which it's speculated that some of his powers are inspired by, as well as obviously some of his looks. Um, we can also throw Piedmon in there as well, who obsessed over uh the Digidestin and uh turning them into keychains, at least in the American though. Capturing the story, though. So um I I I I entirely agree with uh Miss Kettles. Uh the the uh the bloodlust and the obsession of this character over the main character is not something that we've not ever seen before. Um and we we see it in characters like the Joker as well, who completely uh, you know, for all intents and purposes are obsessed with Batman just because they are obsessed with their adversary. They're obsessed with someone who they think can defeat them or can stand toe-to-toe with them. And in Heath Woker's case, he uh he's very much in he's very much lusting after that potential because he wants Gone to continue to get stronger so that he can one day fight him and when he's ready.
SPEAKER_00He's recognized it off break.
SPEAKER_07So the uh the doctor, do you have a uh defense or opposition to Mosquito's point?
SPEAKER_10Uh no, I largely agree. And this is a character that I'm much more familiar with.
SPEAKER_07So um, I'm sorry, subject matter expert.
SPEAKER_09Not ironical time, but uh came with a came with the receipts.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I think that so this is an interesting, there's an interesting larger question around this. So some of this is how we evaluate interplay of sex and violence when it comes to characters. That's something that, you know, a lot of them mentioned like the Joker's done that, a lot of villains have done that, um, a lot of horror movie villains have done that, like I think Pinhead uses that a lot. Right. And know if the Joker rates the money, like, you know, it's you know, it is it's a very common tactic to make someone like perverse or scary because it's mixing these two things that you know in combination feel more terrifying and more, you know, and so forth. And that's a part of it. But you know, it also gets to the question of what are we willing to, or how do we evaluate negative or harmful or adverse actions from like a villain or an anti-hero? Since, you know, it's still the really the I'll be the more anti-hero, but you know, that's also you know, like, are they have they reached a point like really being a villain? But you know, this idea of, oh, and some of these like kids' actions around the bloodlust, like how do you it is different from a hero doing that, I think, you know, and I think that part of that part makes this complicated is we really don't have a good standard way of evaluating when are a villain or an anti-hero's actions just too extreme, like too when they reach a cut point, and that's not applied consistently. You know, we talk about that, you know, I'm glad you brought the issue up whether all these pedophilic characters really um I would extend it to there's a lot of pedophilic characters in anime that we wouldn't even think of as such, um, because there were quotes designed to get around acknowledging that. Like the whole, you know, oh, she's she may look like she's 12, but she's really a thousand years old. So it's fine. That's still like you know, that's no real difference, but that is so completely so extremely common. And if you're really willing to acknowledge that, then yeah, no, it's like barely the tip of the iceberg as far as that. Like it's there's a huge range of characters you need to really evaluate, you know, are the relationships or not even just relationships, but like kind of the lusts and these dynamics these characters engage in as far as like sexually, you know, or romantically with other characters, how okay is that? Because yeah, there is there's definitely a double standard here. And I feel like the crux of Mistil's argument is that this is a double standard that's not being applied consistently. And I 100% agree with that. So yeah.
SPEAKER_09And even if you examine Hisoka and the manga, Hisoka has no portrayal is still the same, but he's never laid hands on anyone outside of murdering them.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_09Which is the primary goal there, because that's that's what gets that's what gets him off. That's what he enjoys. He enjoys fighting and killing.
SPEAKER_07Kaze, do you have a uh opposition to Miskittles points?
SPEAKER_03Uh nope, nope, of course not. Uh, but I I do have uh comments as always.
SPEAKER_09Um every time you say that, I just hear like I mean, you know.
SPEAKER_11For those of you who are listening, he has his notebook right next to him.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, but uh no, this is definitely a uh uh something I thought um a little uh long, not terribly hard about because it's it's not not as deep as uh people make it seem to be, but you know, people can't swim. So um Yikes.
SPEAKER_06I like that.
SPEAKER_09Holy stolen write it down. That's going on that's going on on Instagram this week is like affordable. You want to see it on the story soon.
SPEAKER_04Can you put that on the the the a shirt, you know, and quotations?
SPEAKER_02Because actually, that's a conveyor quote. That's going on. Oh man, like do you catch yourself drowning in the shallow?
SPEAKER_03Get yourself a lifesaver. Um but um I I think uh you know, I think it's a lot of overlapping things. I think uh naturally when people um you know uh watch watch things, especially you know, fiction, uh, you know, you you you automatically engage in um you know suspension of the disbelief. Your you know, these these physics uh don't directly apply. Your uh these people grew up in their you know their own world. So uh, you know, aside from like, you know, basic uh you know rights, rights and needs of a live people, uh, you know, what what you believe in right and wrong, it doesn't directly apply. It's if if if they if they give if they give you new rules and uh stuff based on what they believe, then you know, then that's then you you need to judge your actions against that, not you know, against what you would, but you know, people people do all these things just fine. It's not it's not real. Um and and I think where the cognitive dissonance comes in is uh when when uh when something comes up that that directly like offends them. Or or it's like, oh, it's fine, but oh but this, but not this. This is like you know, this is too much. Like they just they just drop, you know, they just drop their their ability to do this, and and they're like, oh, you're like you're this. And you know, and I think, you know, and I think it also comes into um the it comes into the coding of a character versus the text. So so Hussoka is very obviously not like, you know, it's is he's he's very he's not only very queer-coded, um, but in this case, which is which is is very confusing, it's it's you know, it's his pet, it's it's I guess you could say it's like it's pedophil it's pedophilic uh coding. He has, you know, he they they make him like give loot looks the you know the infamous page of you know him stack on and and the thing comes out and it's kind of like the the the the anime tells you in very clear terms uh why this is happening. Yeah because but the whole narrator just came out. But but but uh but that's not but that does but that does about people stop listening and they just zone in on that image and and they just can't like put two or two you know together anymore. So and it's it's kind of like they they they show Hazoka show sexual interest in people. Like, so it'd be one thing if like all we saw him was get his get get his heart on then and give the uh queer, you know, the the the looks and all and the whatever. If if that was all we had to go on, it wouldn't be as bad. But they literally showed his man hit on you know hit on women a few times, yeah. Which is like the only other interest he's shown aside from fighting, right? So it's kind of like and not only that all all these children are completely under Hazoka's power at multiple times of the show. Yeah, so if he was the person you thought he was, then the certain things would have happened.
SPEAKER_00They did not, yeah, and and and and they could have happened because like like I said, we we've seen it in anime, like we've seen it, literally seen it, saw it.
SPEAKER_09And as someone who has also read the manga, the uh we it's not there either. Like if it would if it was gonna happen, it would have happened, but it didn't happen.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so so like if you want so if you're even though if you want to have an issue with authors uh using these these uh like you know narrative, like you know, short devices who they're just trying to communicate, uh they're trying to make you uncomfortable, they're trying to communicate this person is evil, but you kind of have to pay attention to what they actually do, what they actually think, versus what the the the precise thing you see and how it makes you feel. Because all you know, all this is being deliberately. But if you're gonna uh you're gonna accuse somebody of something, you know, you kind of you know make sure they did it. Make sure it's true. But yeah.
SPEAKER_09Um, I also uh because you brought up the phrase, um, I want to make sure that people have a uh a reference point that's not simply just a dictionary definition. Um of cognitive cognitive dissonance. If you look at simply psychology.org, uh cognitive dissonance refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs, or behaviors. This produces a feeling of mental discomfort, leading to an alteration in one of in one of the attitudes, beliefs, or behaviors to reduce said discomfort and restore that internal balance. Uh cognitive dissonance was first investigated by Leon Festinger, arising out of a participant observation study of a cult which believed that the earth was going to be destroyed by a flood and what happened to its members, particularly the really committed ones who had given up their homes and jobs to work for the cult when the flood did not happen.
SPEAKER_06Thank you for that.
SPEAKER_09You're welcome.
SPEAKER_04Thank you.
SPEAKER_07Jury.
SPEAKER_04This is a very interesting topic because every single or majority of anime has some sort of, if you want to go there, uh pedophile or uh pedophiliac tendencies, every single one. Um, I think the reason why Hyssoka was focused on so much is also because of the visuals of the character difference between Hissoka looking like a strong grown-ass man and gone looking like a little child. And I think that really was uh it artistically it played on the viewers. Um, you know, and going back to what Kaze and uh you know the doctor were saying, um visuals we all know how strong social media and visuals are. Um you you can have the facts, but whatever it is that is striking your uh, you know, your your uh your receptors, um really that is what people focus on the most. You can have the information there telling you otherwise, but visually, if it's something that is shocking, that is what you focus on. You completely disregard the actual information that's given to you. So I think that is why so many people have zoomed in on Hihsoka. Um, you know, he had this gesture-like look. You could tell he was very strong. Um, but also because right next to Gone, who looked like a prepubescent little boy, that was really, I would say, shocking to a lot of people, and they did not focus on the actual um character umself. Uh so um, but going back, I mean, you you can look at Sailor Moon, for example, and I'm gonna, of course, everybody goes to it. I'm actually I'm not even gonna focus on Serena and Damien. I'm actually gonna focus on Tribe Moon and Helios because Helios was a fucking man.
SPEAKER_07Ancient. That's that's kind of what I meant. I knew you would go there.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he was he was a man, and he actually wasn't he was in love. You know, this is not uh uh a blood, you know, he it wasn't a blood. You know, and and people ship them. This this this ancient old ass man who was hiding in a boy's uh body who was a grown ass man with and this this is a little child, you know what I'm saying? And no one ever wants to talk about that, aside from Serena. Um, you know, but I I guess it runs in the family. I don't know. But I'm just saying, um I don't know. We don't like mother, like daughter, I have no idea. Oh, all right, Jerry. But it it's in everything. Um, but it's something that you know that people really need to focus on. We look at kill a kill, we looked at the sexualization of high schoolers, these little high schoolers, and and no one talks even with cosplayers, no one talks about the over sexualization of these children because that's what they are. The only person that was a grown-ass adult was the mother. Um yeah, um, you know, um, but you're having the and and there are ways that um, you know, animated to I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_09I was thinking about Kelly, Kelly. Gamma Gudi was grown too. He was like 20-something.
SPEAKER_07Kelly said the nudists, yeah.
SPEAKER_09No, I mean outside of that even before he like he joined the nudist, like he was still like 20-something. He was a teacher, he wasn't a teacher, he was a student, he was the head of what uh disciplinary, you the disciplinary committee or whatever. Oh, you're talking about that nigga. I was talking about that. Yeah, Gamma Gudi, that nigga.
SPEAKER_04All right, so Gamma Goody, but Gamma Goody, he was just he was a student though in the high school, right?
SPEAKER_09But when he no, when he met Sotsky, he was a high school student, but he waited until she was in high school to to like work up under her. So he was like 20 something when they were at like in the main storyline.
SPEAKER_04Interesting. Yeah. Wow. So him and Mako were so yeah. I mean, that's that's true. You seeing a lot of these shipping. The thing is, like like Rod said, you can you can manipulate the narrative of these characters on how they look. They're like, oh, you know, they look like grown ass people. So it's I they got titties, they got you know, they got ass, you know, it's not a kid. So I, you know, I can't weakly fuck. No, no, no, they're fucking children. You know what I'm saying? And and a lot of people don't like to hear that, um, and and don't want to really think about what they're watching and then correlating it with like if you want to take it to the law, then then basically all the shit that you're jacking off to is the fucking law. I mean, all this lolly, yeah. I'm saying a lolly stuff that people like to, you know, get off on that those are children.
SPEAKER_09You see, the stuff, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like lolly, like lolly and things like that. Lolly is like elementary. Yeah, like lolly, that like all that lolly is is like basically the sexualization of little children, and that's what it is. And people and grown people play off of that, get off of that, you know, and call it a fetish. But that that is sexually sexualizing little kids. I don't give a fuck. That's what it is. So they can sit back to me and understand, but that's exactly what it is.
SPEAKER_00I have been introduced to something I I'm not sure. I don't, I don't what I know about. Um, what is this?
SPEAKER_04I feel like Lolly. So, like Lolly, Lolly is basically when you see like think of Lolita, but not not, you know, because Lolita has different stages, but Lolly is like looking like a little girl, like an elementary school girl, like the pigtails, looking like really like a little child, but kind of yeah, like the sexualization of Lolly itself. Like a lot of grown people love that childlike pre-pubescent look, which is a variation of pedophilia to me. And that's how I usually see it.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I do sorry to um interrupt. So it says, What's the difference between Lolly and Lollycon? Let's see, girls who adhere to the lolli Lolita fashion, even though they are of legal age, may end up using the word lolly, which is simply an abbreviation for the word Lolita. The term lollicon is the abbreviation for Lolita complex, a term used in Japan for crimes involving pedophilia and ephebophilia.
SPEAKER_07Yes, it's the sexual attraction to young girls or the erotic or suggestive art depicting prepubescent females.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and that's all over, that's all over.
SPEAKER_00Oh well, yeah. I didn't know, I didn't know that's what it's called, but yeah.
SPEAKER_09We've dropped definitions for you hoes today.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I I have learned something today, so thank you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I know a lot of the I know a lot of those people do just like the dresses, but y'all need to find a different name, a different word.
SPEAKER_07Like you shouldn't call yourself that words like Lolita fashion. That is fine.
SPEAKER_06Exactly.
SPEAKER_04Lolita inspired. There's no Lolita Fashion is everything, baby.
SPEAKER_09It'd be given.
SPEAKER_04There's nothing wrong with the fashion, you know. I'm saying you're putting on clothes, you know. Um, but it's not like you're you're trying to over-sexualize for it to be I'm wearing kids' clothing or kid-esque clothing so that you can have a sexual desire towards me. Lolita fashion is more so about um, well, there's different types. There's um girl Lolita, there's gothic Lolita, where it's more about the fabric choices, the shape of the clothes, the aesthetics, inspirations, and uh the aesthetic, you know, that sometimes it could be aristocratic, sometimes it could be romantic. So there's different, so this is not at all a kick at the fashion at all. Um, it's more so about the people who are trying to use that fashion and then sexualize it with a pedophilic be uh, you know, um, I would say, uh, connotation behind it. And that is that is the issue that I have within this culture that a lot of people like to ignore. Like there's that area of when is it too much for me to to kind of bear? Like, oh, if I see Hisoka looks like a grown-ass man and gone, that's too much. But yet I can still fantasize these fucking kids. And because they they look pretty and have beautiful eyes and rosy cheeks, I still want to fuck. Like, no, that's still within the same realm, you know.
SPEAKER_07She's getting gritty with these words. Like, we were talking about Ahsoka.
SPEAKER_09Now, I also want to bring up in reference to like, can do we did we forget that Gone went on a whole date with a grown-ass woman who was about to try and murder him because he wouldn't be with her?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, and what was so crazy about that whole thing that happened is gone looked at gone looked at Killowat, like I get bitches, like what even Killer was like, nigga, what you're going on a date?
SPEAKER_01And he was like, Yes, I get bitches. Like, what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_11And then Gone was like, Yeah, older women on the island was doing it.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. He was like, I I do this every day, B.
SPEAKER_04You know, there's also as death, which a lot of people don't like to talk about either. A grown act.
SPEAKER_01I mean, but it's true, like people have wrong because older.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean, as death is pretty much the same thing as as old is as death, uh, she's like in her latter teens, 20s, but she's the same thing as Hassoka.
SPEAKER_04Where no, she said her age, she's like 25.
SPEAKER_07I said she's in her 20s.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07She's 20.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, Elsa. Same with Elsa. Elsa's like 23 or something.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. She like she's the same, it's the same concept, like it's the bloodlust, and because she didn't like that nigga, Tatsia. It was like is the bloodlust like Ahsoka, like you know, that was less bloodlust when you get stronger, like one of the only people who like stood up to her. I want somebody who could fight me because I've I've I was trained by my father, who was like, only the strong niggas could do this shit. Because actually, how old was Tatsia? Uh uh Kazi.
SPEAKER_09Um, no, she I don't think she had a bloodlust for Tati. I think she was just like, Oh, this nigga stood up to me. I'm kind of turned off by that. Like, nah, it was a bloodlust. Because like she never she never tried to like fight him, fight him. She was, I I I think if I'm remembering correctly, I'll say like I'm pretty sure she was like lusting after him because of his personality rather than like some fighting, because she knew she could beat him. Like, we we knew that he would lose against her, right?
SPEAKER_07That's what I'm saying. She was wanted him to get stronger. She specifically said that numerous.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was it was uh it was it was 15 to 20.
SPEAKER_07She he was 15.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's 15.
SPEAKER_09Okay, because he had just joined them.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I just didn't I remember his age, I knew he was in his teams. I didn't know what they keep keeping mind they get they get married at 13.
SPEAKER_01Well, go ahead and address it.
SPEAKER_07They do get married at 13, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yes. And and all the people who are cops, not cosplaying her as well. I mean, you're cosplaying a pedophile. I mean, I'm just I'm just keeping it real, you know what I'm saying? Like if if we're gonna go that way, if we're gonna say that Hisoka is a pedophile, then majority of the people that you're cosplaying have some type of pedophile ideology. And some of you sipping over these middle and high schoolers are also questionable, absolutely, and the ones that are looking at also hentai as well, and euphoria euphoria, and that's another thing I wanted to bring up.
SPEAKER_07But I wasn't getting into that, I just wanted to say it to jump on the thing.
SPEAKER_04I was gonna say, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I mean, euphoria is a whole entire different topic for different reasons. Why? But I would say because I think people the reason why a lot of people are triggered is because people don't believe that high schoolers actually do what the fuck they do in that movie, in that show, and that's and that's so crazy to me.
SPEAKER_00Like, I seen comments on that, like this would be more realistic if it was college. Bitch, did you not go to high school?
SPEAKER_07Like, I'm about to say, what you talking about? Like, I don't like Euphoria.
SPEAKER_04We'll just kind of go into that for we all we're gonna glaze over.
SPEAKER_07We have a whole whole euphoria episode.
SPEAKER_04Well, euphoria has its own thing, it's not it's not the same, I would say, even though people do sexualize euphoria, uh, of course, and try to do it. The characters in euphoria, of course they do, but I think I mean euphoria sexualizes the euphoria euphoria is the well, I know, but and that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_07Like, but it uh it's I I'm also talking about she made the point about people you know doing inappropriate acts to the thought of middle schoolers in anime. I'm just saying people do the same thing to the characters euphoria and they're represents they're they're high schoolers, they are represent there, even though the actors aren't, they're acting as high schoolers. So it's the same thing. My argument about all them niggas are like 25 over.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, all of them are.
SPEAKER_07I mean the characters no no the the the actors are. I'm I'm talking about the characters, right?
SPEAKER_00If we if we if we literally want to go down this path, that means we gotta look at every a lot of shit, every genre. Yeah, so every genre there are plenty of characters out here. Like, I mean, I love fucking Leonardo DiCaprio, but is he a racist? No, did he play a racist?
SPEAKER_06Hell yeah, he used the word occasions, yes, yeah. He sat on that pie.
SPEAKER_09So I mean he did a damn good job as a racist, yeah. He did a damn good job. But yeah, I mean it was reported that he was uncomfortable saying playing the role, but he did it well.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, there's a lot of things that we can look at and and be like, oh my gosh, does that mean that this person is? I mean, look at Lawrence Fishburne, look at Anthony Hopkins, they play the role so well.
SPEAKER_09Oh no, if Anthony Hopkins was a cannibal, I don't think I'd be upset. All right, okay.
SPEAKER_07So, Jerry, ways. What did you think?
SPEAKER_04Um, I to go back to what uh Miss Skittles was saying, um, I do wholeheartedly agree. This is a very dynamic topic that takes that has a lot of layers that a lot of people uh refuse to acknowledge. So I very much agree uh with everything, and then some with Miss Skittles.
SPEAKER_07Awesome sauce. All right, whoof we we woof, man.
SPEAKER_09So, all right, now I told you, I told y'all it was gonna be I told you I wanted to do this for a birthday episode. We was so we're gonna bring in the heat.
SPEAKER_07I'll go, I'll go next, uh, because I don't think I well, no, I I know that I'm doing this particular character because I've heard the feedback from certain panelists uh from the podcast. Um, and I'm doing it specifically, huh?
SPEAKER_09I was like, is it kitty toe? But I was making a joke.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, no, no, no. I was thinking of doing that, but but uh it's funny.
SPEAKER_09I was talking to Joe Joe Tsg about it, and he completely forgot that he had shit for kitty toe. He's like, Oh no, I I stopped thinking about kitty toe because he didn't matter that much. I was like, oh shit.
SPEAKER_07That's why I was like, Joe TSG isn't here, so there's no point in doing kitty toe. That's also very true. So the character that I chose, um, because and I I picked this character because uh I have a a personal um myth, uh is what I'll call it, uh, about individuals. I'm sorry, what is a myth? I know, right? Um about people who don't continue continuously or continue watching certain anime based off of one individual character. And I'm like, just continue watching the anime. Anime is great. Eventually the character will get their, you know, uh story building and and then they'll turn or character building rather, and then it'll turn into a different story. I, you know, I've I've had my grief about people, you know, not watching One Piece class the first 10 episodes or 30 episodes. I've had my myth about people who don't watch any Yassa, they just listen for the uh ending credits. I've had my issue. Yeah, I know, right? Uh I've heard my issue, you know, issues with um people who uh say that uh uh uh uh they shouldn't watch Sailor Moon because Dragon Ball Z was better. I was like, I I don't I don't understand. Oh, well, you know, because Goku can beat Sailor uh beat Sailor Moon, so there's no point in watching it. I was like, all right, well, that that makes sense. Okay, so my character that I picked to defend today is Asta from Black Clover. Hear me out. Now, several panelists on this podcast have they each of them attempted to start this anime uh in in one way, shape, or form. Uh, some of them even saw countdowns or or uh trailers or uh videos or or or you know montages of fight scenes from this anime and said, Yo, I gotta see what anime this came from. And then not even five minutes into the show, people have migraines, people have headaches, people have stomach ulcers. And it's like, well, I'm just to give it a moment, just just just walk into it like to to the extents that people are comparing this character to other characters that yell, and they're like, Well, that person doesn't even yell that much. And I hate when that person yells. I'm like, I get it, but just give it some more, like all the other characters are phenomenal now. So let me let me go a little detailed into it. So Asta is the main character of Black Hover Black Clover, and people's gripe with this anime is that Asta yells in every single scene he's in. He yells when he's not on the screen, he yells uh like all the time. And for somebody who doesn't actually have magic, they're like, Well, what is he talking about? And why is he always yelling? Um, the the premise behind Asta is he is a uh a character from this world. Uh, each of the characters in this world get a grimoire when they get to a certain age. Normally the age is anywhere between uh uh 12, uh 10 and uh 17, depending on you know your you know maturity. Uh once you get your grimoire, your grimoire uh is supposed to you know unlock that special magic that you can do whatever it is. Now, each of these individual grimoire grimoires have different uh types of clovers, obviously uh by the story's name uh black of the anime's name Black Clover, dependent on the rarity of your ability, are the rarity of the clovers on the uh on the books. And not to spoil anything, but you know, they say one through three standard books, uh grimoires rather. When you get a four-leaf clover on your book, you are a chosen one. Your magic is, you know, uh a god here almost. But then when you have a fifth clover on your book, it is said that a demon resides within your uh uh with within your within your grimoire. Now, not to go into that because that's not what this is about. Um, so Asta starts off this entire concept because the entire world can use magic. You don't need a grimoire to use magic. You do standard magical spells and stuff like that. But then once you get your grimoire, you can do a little bit higher level spells, you know, manipulating magic, cooking food, stuff like that. Asta has no magic, zero magic, nothing in the tank, not able to do anything. Uh so you know, his expectation is, you know, maybe when I get my grimoire, I'll be able to do things. There are kids, he grew up in an orphanage with the second uh main character, and you know, he's growing up and he and everybody else, the little kids and the nuns, and everybody can use magic to cut potatoes, like you know, wash the clothes, air of dry things, and he can't do anything. All he does is strain, like kind of like what Naruto did at the beginning of the story.
SPEAKER_00Naruto and Asta are the same person, yes, 100%.
SPEAKER_07Like, but but the thing is, people could tolerate Naruto with his, you know, I cannot. Or I said some people, I mean I said some people, um, but could tolerate Naruto and could also tolerate who's another person who yells. Uh, it was Naruto and who else yells uh uh Natsu from Fairy Tale, but people don't like Fairy Tales. Well, I didn't finish Fairy Tale either. I defend Fairy Tale because that's yes, yes, I mean I knew Miss Skittles would be there because at least she knows, yeah, but I'm I don't want to be able to do that. Um, because I would have to defend all of Fairy Tale, and we said pick a character. So uh continuing with Asta. So his the the the reason why Asta yells. Now I'm not the writer, I'm not the developer, I am not the one who created the light novel, I'm not the one who drew it on the screen. Um, this is my personal opinion, which is based off of the facts that was given to me by the anime. Could I be wrong? I doubt it, but maybe. Uh, so Asta yells, similar to what I feel is like Rock Lee. So Rock Lee, of course, we know, cannot use jutsu, right? Genjutsu's can't use standard jutsu, but can use Taijutsu, you know, fighting skills. Asta from when he was a very young child knew he couldn't use magic, but everybody else could. So he said to himself, okay, what can I do to supplement this lack of magic? Train my body like a sword. Exercises, push-ups, handstands, running miles every single day to the point where he couldn't even move. All you could do was crawl home at the end of the day. He did this for 15 years until finally it was time, or I think until 12, I forget the age, but until it was time to, you know, be the right age to get your your your uh your um your grimoire. And they went to the magical library near their village, and all the other kids of the same age were getting their grimoires, and nothing came to Asta. 15. Thank you. 15. Everybody got their grimoire except for Asta. And Asta's like, gosh darn. I worked and I trained and I tried. And then so the yelling, and then I'm gonna circle back to that. The yelling comes from how passionate he is about training, how passionate he is about it's like living the uh what is it, the spirit of youth. It's literally my guy in a younger form, but a lot louder. Like literally, when but my guy wasn't always on the screen, and and even Naruto yelled a bunch of times, but my guy was like, You must live your spirit of youth, you must express your soul through your fingers, through your fists, through your feet. You must do what you have to do to be able to be able to showcase that no matter what you can't be able to do, you can still do what you want to do. And it was that willpower, it was that strength, it was that fervor that allowed the black clover grimoire to come to Asta. That's what happened. That's the tenacity because he'd given up. If he wasn't yelling, it would have never happened for him. But you know what? He yelled and he screamed and he reached out and it came to him and he was able to get something. Now, side note, it wasn't standard magic, it was anti-magic, but that's a whole nother story. So I'm not going into the anime, but I want you to go and watch it, and I don't like spoiling things. So, again, the defense of said character Asta is I feel as though most people, including the people on this Pat podcast, have not given the show a chance because within the first three episodes, the decibel levels of Asta were too violently loud. And I say to these, down the volume, don't listen to it. Maybe don't in the volume. You know, crank it down a little bit. It's going to be okay. Uh, I won't even deny there are scenes where Asta doesn't even need to be yelling, but he does, and I can't stop that. But what I can do is I can tell you that there are so many amazing fight scenes, different styles of magic. Uh a storyline is phenomenal. I'm kind of upset that we haven't gotten our next season, but Black Clover is a phenomenal anime. Asta is a phenomenal character. If you recall, when it was about to come out, they even said he was supposed to replace not replace, sorry, be a part of the big three, big four when you had your your Luffy, your Ichigo, and your Naruto. Like he was supposed to climb to those rankings. Um but because nobody could stand his voice, same thing with Natsu, like uh among other things, because people for some reason didn't like uh Fairy Tales art style. I don't see how that's possible. But uh yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I heard. Um, so but like I said, I'm not defending that right now. That'd be another episode. Uh uh, but yes, uh Asta specifically uh is a character. That embodies true determination, uh, true perseverance, and he brings out his innate abilities through his. No, he's not a sound ninja. He's not a sound hot shooter. He doesn't use his voice to make attacks, but he uses the yelling, the same thing that a lot of martial artists use to put more strength into their blows. Yes, I went there. He yells to get the stronger strikes out, and that is why you need to give Black Clover another chance. I guarantee you will not regret it because you'll see some amazing things on screen. Like I can almost guarantee that I'm I'm not gonna say I'm the only person on this podcast who's seen the entire Black Clover. Maybe Miss Skittles has as well.
SPEAKER_00But no, I didn't know I I am not current on Black Clover. Sad, sad to say, I'm not current on Black Clover, but but Asta's yelling does not bother me because I am I am well into like seasons, so yeah, um, and and I I cannot see how anybody who who made it through all of Naruto. Oh can't can't get to the label.
SPEAKER_09And uh as someone who did made it halfway through Naruto, um you did not. I did, I did.
SPEAKER_00I mean um I made it to Shaputin, but I was like, bitch.
SPEAKER_09I made it to Shaputin, and once I was like, okay, too much filler, I read the rest and I was fine. I was that person. I was like, oh, this is much better because like there's not a lot of action here happening where I need to be watching this.
SPEAKER_08Now I went back from when Madar showed up on the field on the battlefield was fucking niggas up. I showed up for that. I showed up when that's what I was like, they'll fight or whatever. I was like, I showed up for that.
SPEAKER_07I I honestly I I I had the exact same situation with Kaze. Like Kaze saw one of the fights from Black Clover. Uh, that was like it was in one of the countdowns we saw. I think it was a watch mojo or something else. And I don't know if you asked me whether what it was what this was from or whether you were verifying with me was this from Black Clover.
SPEAKER_03I was like, Yes, that's I knew I knew it was Black Clover, right?
SPEAKER_07And I was like, Oh my gosh, yes, that just happened. You should go and watch. And I don't know, I feel like you went to go watch just that fight scene, or did you not watch it at all?
SPEAKER_03Uh we we've we talked about this uh I'm trying to remember now.
SPEAKER_07I'll put you on blast. I'm just asking that particular point.
SPEAKER_03Uh uh, yeah, no, I was uh I went and watched the whole thing. And uh I was gonna give my thing at the end when you made all your points. Gotcha. Okay, cool.
SPEAKER_09So let me I I I do I would like to interject. Oh no. I feel as though I am definitely a part of that that group that uh Suchino Councilman Suchino Shogun is referring to. Um, but I will say this I have never watched an anime before, shonen or otherwise, where in the first like three episodes three to five episodes, I'm like, nigga, if you don't shut the fuck up, like just like stop talking, stop talking, shut up. No, the other view. That was um that was how I felt. Like I was, I was I legitimately was legitimately was like, if this nigga don't shut the fuck up, like no, I don't mind yelling from characters, but for some reason, Asta was that character for me where I was like, I don't want to hear this. I don't. It's like when you got that one friend, whenever they talk, you just like well then why they friends? That's how you gonna react, then why they friends because you still care about them to some degree, but you you can at least acknowledge I'm asking you to care about Asta.
SPEAKER_07That's that's what I'm that is what I'm asking. I have see, I trapped it. There you go.
SPEAKER_09You certainly did. That's why I've been doing this between happy years. Nonetheless, I'm just saying I I can acknowledge that I do to some extent want to continue watching Black Clover. I have just not gathered the nerve to have to deal with this person I don't feel like listening to. Okay, okay, because as you have explained to me in the past, as others have said, there are characters that remind you remind you of me and that I would probably love.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09But I would have to thoroughly invest myself in the in the anticipation of the I I will actually I will call it the Naruto syndrome for me because I didn't give a shit that much about Naruto as a person or as a character at all. I did not care. His backstory, terrible. I I felt about I felt bad for the nigga, but I wasn't that interested in him. I I cared about the Rock Lee's and the Shinos and the Sakura's. Like I cared, I cared about the negis. I felt like somebody I knew she was, I knew somebody was gonna say something about soccer.
SPEAKER_07We need my number two.
SPEAKER_08See, I thought see, it was either gonna be soccer or cora, but I went with Cora because that's my bitch.
SPEAKER_00Everybody on here, fuck with Cora. You should have gone with Sakura because I would have had objections.
SPEAKER_09The reason I didn't go with Sakura because I thought, you know what, maybe Suchi will have because Suchi and I have had many conversations about why soccer is still a bad bitch in every respect, and people downplay her a lot. That's what I gotta say right now.
SPEAKER_03If I was still in certain groups, I would have remembered uh that niggas throw so much unnecessary shit.
SPEAKER_07I see, I feel on my timeline tilt still to this day. Like there was a there was a meme. I mean, like, y'all y'all throw soccer are too far under the bus. There was a meme I saw this morning of a dumpster going down uh being carried by a flood. She's like, damn, when is soccer learning to swim? I was like, Y'all are trifling, disrespectful.
SPEAKER_01I love it.
SPEAKER_07You know what? Like I said, this is about Asta. So I'm gonna go to the next one. But I will say, I'm sorry to say I admit my guilt. Okay. The doctor, do you have an opposition to my defense of Asta?
SPEAKER_10Oh no. I mean, you know, I think you know, I agree. And honestly, like I'm pretty tolerant of you know super vocal characters, you know, I see it as kind of an extension of vocalizing strength that's that's that's a very common trope in anime. So yeah, I'm pretty tolerant of it. And I do think that um, like with Naruto, I was tolerant of it there too. And I think Naruto is more egregious with it, honestly. Like Naruto irritated me a little bit more with his voice, um, but or with the yelling, but I was still okay with it. Like I didn't really have a huge issue. Um yeah, definitely watch Black Rover. Like it's it's good. Like I enjoy it.
SPEAKER_07So okay. Uh so the Bob McCoy went, Doctor. Miss Gilda, did you go first?
SPEAKER_00No, I mean, uh, I kind of went. If yeah, I kind of went. Like, I mean, if I already said what I needed to say. If you can watch Naruto, I I don't I don't understand like what your argument is for Black Lover. Black Lover or Oscar, right? Yeah, Asta.
SPEAKER_09Like my evolved. I will say that. I will say I transitioned because like Naruto in English was absolutely not Naruto and anime, tolerable, but it got annoying after a while. Naruto and manga, I ain't gotta read, I ain't gotta hear nothing, baby. Let's go. Fair enough. I mean, uh nothing.
SPEAKER_00I don't got I don't got nothing. It it that's my argument. If you watched it, then I don't understand.
SPEAKER_09Watched it in full and loved the shit. Right.
SPEAKER_07Uh Kaze. I know you said you had you was gonna wait till this time, so this is your time.
SPEAKER_03So all right, all right. All right, so um, like like like Suchi uh brought before, I am uh I I represent a uh a nice middle ground here. Um I mean that's not what you said, but I'm gonna stop trying to put words in your body. But but but I start, you know, I definitely I most certainly start, I watched, I think I watched four, five, no, no, no, no. I watched seven episodes and exactly that it uh nigga was uh loud as fuck. Um and and I will uh and and I just you know I was just like why I I don't know for what reason like why are you why are you doing this? And and I'll say the I think the main difference uh between uh uh uh asta and some of these other shows and and uh and and suchi even said it himself this that this is a different decibel. Yeah this is very he is very literally louder, yeah. Uh than than these than these other niggas. And and Naruto and Naruto and if I if I was if I watched up and and I w and I was watching Naruto and that nigga said I I I literally cringed and dropped something the first time I heard believe it.
SPEAKER_08Like I was so shocked because because what y'all know he ain't shook by that much, like and I was like, what the fuck is that?
SPEAKER_03Like what he's what he says in it in the Japanese version is that this is my ninja, yep, my ninja and and and and and in the bastardization of American localization, bastardization. Can you repeat that? That was beautiful. The bastardization, uh it's not uh by bastardization by American localization. They they for some for some reason they took this is my ninja way into the believe it. If if if if that was my introduction, Ternarto, oh no, I would wouldn't be no clouds around here, wouldn't be no uh no no no headbands, and no clouds, it wouldn't be none of that around here.
SPEAKER_00Oh we wouldn't even we wouldn't even know who we thought you was like not not not at all, but but but that but that wasn't no people watched Naruto in English in English on television on Cartoon Network, yeah, yep, nope.
SPEAKER_03I don't I don't know what's say about that, but but but but but me, I think I think the I think uh so e so even though like it it like in Naruto, like he said, you know, he he said his thing, and I'm like, okay, yeah, he's energetic, he's saying his thing, and and and so and and similarly to uh the black McCoy, I didn't, I would I didn't initially find Naruto super, I thought he was endearing. Uh but but it was the it was the aesthetic, it was the the art the art style, it was the supporting cast, it was everything that kind of brought me in to to Naruto. Whereas in Black Clover, uh uh you know, especially like very much in the start, I don't think Black Clover started as strong. So so you're saying so you're there's less uh there's less hooks. So all so you had this screaming, you had this screaming ass uh for awful haircut. Ooh, like like terrible, like top top three worst.
SPEAKER_09That hair three worst, I I I'm inclined to agree on that point. Like it's a petty point, it's like it's giving AJ Styles terrible.
SPEAKER_03That's all that's yeah, like you know what, we're not and and not and not and and pro and not and and I'll say like uh un unironically bad, not literally bad. I'm sure you could do a Google search and find like much worse, but like like that nigga thought that looked good, I think. Uh and I feel and I felt slightly bad for it. But anyway, so so going so so coming from that and then and then and then that situation that suit you brought up, and I was like, oh, oh, so so there's a there's a term that's that's very that's you know very popular in the anime uh happening all your show and then uh stuff that you watch is it's called it's called Sakika. And it's and it's the thing where uh these niggas like animation costs money, get a budget. Yeah, it is a budget, and but when they want to really hook you when something really serious is about to happen, they they tune up the animation frames, the quality, uh how you know how how how many fucking frames of animation per second in each frame they up they up all that shit. The the the the the the saturation of colors, they turn everything the fuck up so they can really invest you in this fight. So and that fight that you that's that suit you brought up was an extreme example of like of sake that should this that should look much better than the show I watched. So I was like, oh, okay, maybe the rest of the show got like a huge budget boost. And and and and and and and after going back and watching the show, I was like, okay, no, the show the show in general didn't get a huge budget boost, but when they want to show you something, yeah, that shit gets pretty. And I was like, oh okay, okay, no, I can I can do it. But after what you know, after getting past those few episodes, he that not only does he yell less. Yes, uh, and because it because and that's and that's also part of the point of the character, too, is he's he he he he doesn't just sound annoying, he's written to be annoying, he is annoying to the people around him. Yes, so it it this is a that this isn't like just he's not randomly that this is a this is a character trait, this is part of his arc, it hit part of his growth, you know. He does it less, he gets he does it a bit, you know. He he still he still go goes off and he still has that energy, but it's not it it definitely it definitely goes away and and it isn't as bad as it goes on. I am I'm happy I went back, restarted it. And um, and yeah, I would and I would definitely uh honestly I I don't remember where it was, but I I I wouldn't I wouldn't even mind um like this catching a few Wikipedia summaries and starting at a later episode. So just so you don't have to put those super early like you know, images uh you know in in in your in your mind. You can just start kind of you know, start kind of fresh a bit later on. You don't you don't miss is the most of those source episodes are setting very basic things up and it's basic principles of the world. Um yeah, so you can definitely get those uh by reading and you can avoid the super annoying thing, especially, especially and and I know a big thing with people who wanna who have to restart stuff, they don't they they don't remember stuff and they feel the need to rewatch the thing that they hated. And it's like no, don't do that, don't put yourself through that, read it, get the information, and just start later. Yep. It's a long series, though, you know, 10-15 episodes is not gonna you know murder anything contextually or you know anything like that. So yeah.
SPEAKER_07Thank you. I thoroughly appreciate your support. No problem. Uh jury, uh, what is your verdict about this particular character of this particular anime?
SPEAKER_04It's actually had me uh kind of split to be honest. Um especially since uh for the jury, uh we are biased when it comes to voices, um, especially in anime. Uh so when we hear uh an annoying ass voice, we we quickly turn the channel very quickly. Um, you know, and we don't even really give it a chance. Uh Naruto being uh the prime example, I was lovingly uh persuaded, uh heavily lovingly persuaded to watch Naruto, not ship it in Naruto. And um and the the uh American English version, uh unfortunately that was what I was uh subjected to. So I've heard believe it, and I I couldn't, I couldn't, I couldn't do it. It's like being held by gunpoint uh watching the anime anime. So uh it was very difficult to swallow. And you know, it's very easy for the jury to swallow, and I couldn't swallow that. No problem. But um, so but it was um so that when it comes to I would say voice acting is is voice acting is so important in animation. Um that is why um what you know the viewers always are so connected with the voice actors themselves. We love to see who it who is the voice behind the screen because we fall in love with these voices. These voices give character dynamic, you know, to an anime character, a cartoon. Um, you know, so we we love hearing voices as a collective in general. Why it is so important to have the right voice acting, the tone, the volume, um, and even certain decibels uh when we're speaking, you know, even in a classroom setting, you know, you always have that one annoying ass person in class who's too fucking loud. We stay away from them. Not saying they're not good people, that we just can't take the tone. It's questionable. Right. So um that just more so um, you know, just how it is. I don't know if it's cultural, maybe, you know, but something that I can say in a general sense in our society. Um, we like to hear someone that has a melodic tone, or even if it is a battle cry, it is a battle cry per se, not necessarily the same high-pitched decibel throughout an entire scene. It's very hard to swallow if there's no deviation of range when someone is speaking. So I completely understand why people cannot gravitate to Black Clover. I myself have never watched it, so I'm kind of going in brand new with this information, but I can also say that there are a lot of, I do appreciate the character growth. I do appreciate that the character eventually um, you know, uh progresses in a positive, not not positive, but just maturity. Um, you know, and that also is um evident in how their tone starts to be mellowed out, mellow maybe with confidence, I take it, but or maybe they're more sure of themselves, or maybe they're getting closer to their goal. So I do appreciate that it is not the same uh, you know, stagnation of their tone or their voice throughout the entire uh series. So um I will say that I agree with Suchi, but I don't agree that everything has to be yelling because we don't, we ourselves, we don't speak in yelling tones, even if it is a battle cry, it is a battle cry to hype yourself up for one particular moment, so to speak. Um, but we don't battle cry when we're brushing our teeth because that'll be inappropriate. We don't battle cry when we're taking a shit because that'll be inappropriate. So there are certain times what we'll make.
SPEAKER_07If you got a demon in there, you know, you gotta yell it on through.
SPEAKER_09I'm sorry, this is a melanated podcast. If we got a demon in there, we're gonna be gone.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, I would so I'll say that I do agree with Suchi no Shogun, but there are some, I would say, uh room for growth uh within that particular argument.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_07Thank you, thank you. Ladies and gentlemen of the listening jury, it seems that we have extended our time far past what we expected. So, what we're gonna do is we're gonna turn this into a two part episode. Just hold on and you'll get the rest soon. Check back in with us next week.
