Welcome back to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast, everyone. This week we are going over the Demon Slayer Entertainment Districts of some people call the red light district arc. Season, some people call it season two, but it's it's obviously season three, or is it season two? And some people thought it was season. Anyway, so we're going over the uh everything that's happened from the storyline to the characters, the level ups to the fantastic artwork. Uh, this uh UFO table, you default, you you defoldable, you UFO table? Yes, anyway, this uh this uh gorgeous um no idea what was supposed to be happening now anime that uh we have taken part uh taken part of uh uh this uh past couple of months uh into 2022. We're gonna give our feedback on it. Of course, I have to introduce our panelists, starting with myself, Suchino Shogun. Uh also we have Kaze Shinryu. Yo, yo you forgot to speak. Uh the black McCoy. What'd it do, Thoughty Boo? Thought he boo. Uh, we have me Skittles.
SPEAKER_09So, what's funny about you trying to pronounce the production company? Somebody else I know calls it UFO table. Who I thought it was hilarious that you immediately went to UFO table.
SPEAKER_01So somebody somebody told me, I think it might have been Kaze that told me that the reason why they're called you you foldable is because there's actually a UFO table in their offices. Did somebody tell me that? Was that not a fact that somebody told me?
SPEAKER_04No, uh yeah, I think I read that.
SPEAKER_01Okay, just making sure somebody told me. I was about to say I got the information from somewhere, I'm not making it up. Uh Sayone cosplay. Hello, and shampoo bracelets, specifically Dr. Hydeen Quinzel. So we're gonna go over everything that happened, uh, talk a little bit about you know the characters. You know, some people on our panel have said on multiple occasions that one of their one of the Hashira in this season is their boo. So uh I think they're gonna you know give it up for for that individual. Granted, you know, this this panelist does have a type.
SPEAKER_08Uh first of all, how they don't don't be coming for me in Miss Skittles like that.
SPEAKER_05All right, first of all, this particular this particular Hashira deviates from the type, uh, while murderous doesn't is not evil. Do that, he's not evil. Evil. Did they have to be evil? I mean the other two are kind of evil, but they don't have to be evil, they ain't gotta be gojo. Gojo and it's not evil right there. I knew it was coming.
SPEAKER_09Go doing and they just the requirement is white hair. That's it.
SPEAKER_07Thank you. Thank you, Miss Kittles.
SPEAKER_01I've done my research on my panelists.
SPEAKER_07I mean white hair is strong as fuck. How about that?
SPEAKER_01So so of course, this so of course this uh this arc, this entertainment district comes right off the uh literally off the rails, sorry, of Moog and Train. Uh the movie also turned into an arc uh that uh transpired at the end of 2021. And uh it they literally give us, you know, what two extra episodes and then just kind of thrust us into the entertainment district. Um, and uh I'll be the first to say I was actually talking to uh both Kaze Shuny, well, I was talking specifically Kaze Shuny, but I was also talking to Black and Corey about you know my feelings about the Hashira that was introduced into this uh in this arc. Um, and uh I'm not I refuse to get attacked uh by uh the uh the two panelists we were just talking about, but I will say uh their first introduction of this of this Hashrada, I was very questionable about uh uh how he was gonna go. Uh, because he took a couple seconds, spanked a 16-year-old girl on the butt, and I was like, Okay, this is about to be a bad art. This is about to be a bad season. I'm not gonna lie about you.
SPEAKER_05I'm not doing it. If you compare if you compare that moment to the first two episodes of Redo of Healer, that's the most the most mimical.
SPEAKER_01You know what the critical point is every time I say or even at the end of the day. I always want to go back to redo a healer. I'm gonna need you to stay on subject. I'm just don't say I need you not to just say it because we're talking about Demon Slayer. I'm gonna need you not to keep going back to redo a healer as if it is a standard point. Oh, Jacob Roots were redo a healer. I'm saying you have this wholesome anime where he's supposed to be this hospital and he's a girl on the butt and tries to kidnap her. I'm gonna need you to act like that's not okay. See, I'm just making how you do, see how you do.
SPEAKER_05What do you mean how I do?
SPEAKER_01Anyway, and uh Sayone agreed with me anyway. So, how about you say something to her?
SPEAKER_08Did she watch many of the button the reason why? Also, they watch like right before two episodes, two to three episodes.
SPEAKER_01Don't forget the what type of anime she watched does. But I'm sorry, Miss Kipps, what were you saying?
SPEAKER_09He had a reason, like they would like she was about to be the little spy inducted in the district.
SPEAKER_08No, no, like a grown up all of the the young boys had to dress up like girls to be the spies. But if it if you if you take it from like the first context, yes, it's it was it was weird as fuck, it was crazy. I definitely was like, what the fuck is going on? But once you once they get to the entertainment district and you see why he needed the young girls in the first place, you like oh now that makes sense.
SPEAKER_01I 100% and that's why I made sure I started with the fact that my entry into it, I was, I was very, I was questionable, and and and I I felt some type of way. I was like, okay, we're entering into this. Okay, what's he about to do? Got these two big things on his back.
SPEAKER_08Considering two big things on his back. Like, what the hell?
SPEAKER_06That's just because somebody says this is whole this had to be wholesome. People get the head cut off.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna let it ride, but uh flip that with all the energy in the world.
SPEAKER_01All the energy. Um so uh so like I said, you know, we're coming off the tail end of Nugan train and we're moving into the entertainment district where um our our our Hashira, which which what I'll do since it's obviously uh my opinion of the Hashira should not be used in this context of this conversation, I'll allow Miss Skittles and uh Dr. Quinzel to to uh give paint us or illustrate us a uh description of this Hashira in the most unbiased way possible, if you could, Sivu play.
SPEAKER_09So we'll stop unbiased, okay. Yeah, I can do that. I can do that, I can do that. So in the beginning in the beginning when they in the beginning when they introduce uh what was his first name?
SPEAKER_08So when they when they first introduced Tingan, I was like so for first of all, this is me being unbiased, I was like, why why they why they make this uh white-haired boy like real like pedophile ish off the first episode? So I was I was a little disturbed by that. But uh once we once we got into like what was really going on, once we got into the entertainment, like I initially was I didn't wanna I didn't want to like him because he's I mean his character his character is flashy, literally described by himself, flashy, uh over the top. Like it's the narcissist yes, just everything that right. If if I met this man in person, I'd probably be like, oh, like you, you one of those uh alpha. I need to stay in self.
SPEAKER_09Like that that was my initial impression of him, and I was just like, ew, like I should, I like I don't want to like him.
SPEAKER_08But as we as we get into it, you you start to see you start to see a little bit about his background, him coming from a shinobi family, and like you see the the the genuine love that he has for all three of his wives, and and and overall, like while he is flashy and extravagant and uh sexy. Oh my god. You knew that was coming, and you gotta throw that in there somewhere. I'm gonna go to the show.
SPEAKER_05I was sure she was gonna say wives. I want to disagree, but when I saw him in that kimono and the hair was done, I was like, oh.
SPEAKER_07Yes, like he was living in the shit.
SPEAKER_04That was my moment when the hair was gonna shine. I was no be hating before that. I was like, you ain't you ain't you ain't no you ain't like from man's from my man's from a jujitsu, you know what I'm saying? Y'all you over there sparkling, but you ain't that shiny, you know what I'm saying? That was my like you ain't no real damn man, you could be.
SPEAKER_09That was my thoughts exactly. I was like, oh god, he actually cares.
SPEAKER_03Oh fuck boy, wait a minute.
SPEAKER_08He cares for each one specifically in their own way. Like he gives each one what they need. And you were just like, oh my god, there's men walking around in real time that don't do that shit. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04And people need that because they they see uh they they they see they they they they see like multiple spouses and shit and think it think it's all everybody being hoes or the woman being no I'm not gonna lie, harems get a terrible rap and the consistency of the trope of that is the harem has not uh been a good one.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_08Shammy B knows someone that has a harem, literally. I do too. Ooh, I I really appreciated the fact that you know that that harem typical No, it's literally that that shit typically is like it's like it's almost like fan service for a whole entire anime. So um I appreciated that that's not what we got here. Um and and I was like, I was just like and and that's what made me actually fall in love with his character, honestly. I mean, the character we've already said like the the Hashira character designs are fucking phenomenal. Every every character in Demon Slayer's character design is very individual to them, and we love that about Demon Slayer. So his character design is already fire. Um, but what what made me fall in love with his character is is his genuine like backstory and how we saw him treat people throughout this uh season, yeah. Um, because like I said, initially I like I was like, who's this fuck nigga? I don't want to like him, even though he got white hair, but like you are right, but we need to. And let's not forget how when they first brought him in, they were like zooming in on his muscles and shit. And I was like, look, I don't need all this within the first couple minutes, all right? That's too much.
SPEAKER_05Wow, I was like, hey, you don't get these muscly titties on my head, goddamn, we had to go over every pack.
SPEAKER_08I I I literally thought I was going to hate him, and um, yeah, by the end of the season, uh it was far from it, and then um his um his power, his sound, like the I I get the the the purpose of him like thinking like oh flashy, you know, because that's that's literally his his um his technique, his breathing technique.
SPEAKER_09So it's just uh like I don't know the sound pillar. I can make some sounds for you, boo. Everybody work on their sound breathing technique. You don't have to ask me twice.
SPEAKER_04Say left also the sword chucks the sword chucks, blades, war.
SPEAKER_05At first I was like, what the fuck you about to do with these damn things? But I I I would shut the fuck up real quick. I'm talking a little bit of shit. You was talking a little bit of shit. It was it was medium level shit. I I was talking some some some some relatively mid levels of shit, and then I was like, I didn't say it out loud, but it was internal mostly. I'm like, what the fuck you about to do? You nigga ain't gonna right let me let me shut the fuck up and let this nigga work exactly.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. I I I was expecting a bit uh more from from the sound breathing, like they were kind of they they they were just kind of it was more just explosions and bass badassery, right? Like, you know, that that's I was kind of cut come coming off the flame hashera who was just always always combusting. Okay, uh, I mean, also that was his uh you know that was uh that was his last ember, so to say. So I guess uh that was I keep trying to tell you.
SPEAKER_08I'll pour a little bit of lick out from my homie.
SPEAKER_05I'm not gonna pour the wine out, but I'll take a sip. The homies don't want me to waste it. They know my spirit, they know my heart. I think the thing that I love the most about him having three wives is that they contextualized it as like this man doesn't just have three wives, like it was very much a cultural thing for everyone, every man in his um clan to have three wives. And so they drew upon that history, but even he, even though he abided by that custom of his clan, um, he did it in a very different way because it like the way, if I'm remembering correctly, the way like you we hear his father talk about it, these wives are just tools for him to do whatever he needs to do. Yeah, right. Like they they don't matter on a very like high level of like relational intimacy in some way. They are just they're just tools, they're people to be used for whatever mission or whatever aim that will better that will push the clan forward or push them forward as individuals in some way. And even even in that, he was like, no, fuck that. Uh, I'm gonna take wives, and then we're like, uh we they are the priorities. Right. They they they are people. Like, if I tell you to run, run, do not come back and try and save me. Please keep yourself safe. Like, I I really enjoyed that aspect of him having three wives. Because, like, when it was introduced that he have had three wives, it like it deconstructed the I think it was a simultaneous like actualization and deconstruction of the harem trope, in my opinion, because one, it contextualized it as no niggas don't just be having harems, like this is a custom for this particular like clan, this culture, and it's an aspect of how they rear the their men and their boys. And the reason for them having it is purely like utilitarian, like they only have that many wives because they need to be able to accomplish a number of things at a at a at one time, or even like you, like I said before, using them as tools, using them for whatever they need to use them for, so that they in at the end of the day they can reach some sort of purpose or goal. But Tangan was the only one that we were able to see or that we know of from that clan who was like, No, these are people, and I will treat them as such.
SPEAKER_01Can we maybe possibly stray away from using the word harem and maybe use polygamy?
SPEAKER_08I would not I don't think for that though, because they that's literally what their culture was based off of that harem. Everyone well it's based off polygamy.
SPEAKER_07I mean, yeah, but polygamy.
SPEAKER_04I mean, yeah, but also a harem. This is further than a harem, a harem uh, you're not you're not in a relationship with everyone in the harem. The the harem the harem is just everyone infatuated with you, right? But but you're not necessarily giving anything back. This was a full-out relationship, yeah. Well, which is why I said polygamy.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah. They were they were you're no, you're right, because they were wives, they weren't just exactly and that's the key thing people who were around for available sexual exploitation or what have you.
SPEAKER_01Precisely, because and and I agree, you know, they're definitely you could tell that they made sure to stress the fact of the difference between that that you the that that use of each of the individual women that is normally exercised in his in his clan, and the fact that even when they first came into it, as they showed the flashbacks, they were under the impression that, oh, just like all the women before us, everybody else who died were just gonna be tools for Tengen. And that's not at all what he did. He made sure he gave them the rules that look, your lives are far more important than any of these motherfucking missions. We need to come back at the end of the day. That's what we want. At the end of the day, we need to be together at the end of the day, even if it's just y'all three that make it, y'all need to survive, y'all need to live. Fuck these missions. So, and that's I just want to make sure we switch it from harem to specifically for this situation. We'll talk about harems, I guess, in another day again. Um, but this one I I would say would be more so polygamy uh than um a harem. But anywho, uh, so thank you, Miss Skittles, and of course the chimes of Dr. Quinzel for the explanation of Tangin. Um, so now we already, of course, know of our uh about our main three uh characters, your your Tanji Rolls, your Zenitsus, and your Noskeys, and of course Nezuko. Um, so also introduced in this uh in into in the entertainment district as we came in, uh, is you know, we got the understanding that Tangin was sneaking in, not sneaking in, he was he was on a mission to specifically get his wives back. Uh, if he was able to defeat demons at the same time, terrific. If he was able to defeat one of the 12 Kazuki, awesome sauce. But that is actually not why he went there. He went there to get his women back. And he was going to do it by any means necessary, including sending uh uh subordinates in, uh, whether they're women or men, uh, as you know, uh spies, if you will, to find some information on how he can retrieve his wives back by any means necessary. Um, what I and what I enjoyed about his uh uh uh his storyline as they went on is although his main focus was getting his wives back, once he realized he was putting these three young um swordsmen in danger, demon slayers in danger, he was like, Yo, for real, for real, y'all lives are even more important than this. I'll handle it myself. I honestly don't want you to die. So you can actually just go run, just run away, I'll figure it out. Now, granted, you know, you're dealing with you know Tanjiro, who's you know about to turn his back on nobody who needs help, so he ain't run away, but every emotional attribute you got. Literally, um, it was it was it was for me, that was a part of the character building for Tengen was him at that moment, even though his main focus, his main concern, even though at that point he even knew that there was maybe an upper at least an upper 12, but definitely an upper six in the entertainment district. He was like, Look, your lives are important. You go and do I'll go retrieve my wives, I'll go and get them. Uh, I've got enough information, I'll figure it out, or what have you. So that was big. But anywho, so we're talking about his wives. But the next thing, of course, is the upper six. And the upper six that we meet in the the first upper six that we meet, uh, or part of the upper six that we meet in the entertainment district is Dockey. And I know one person on this podcast who is completely enamored by Dockie, and that is Miss Quin Dr. Quinzel. So, Miss Quinzel, if you could give us a little bit about the uh uh who is Dockey and why are you so infatuated?
SPEAKER_08I mean, Docky was a bad bitch that came on the scene and commanded respect.
SPEAKER_05Ooh, I have pushback, but keep going.
SPEAKER_09I I got pushback too. So at the beginning, though.
SPEAKER_05At the beginning, we talked about we're gonna let you finish, though. We're gonna let you finish.
SPEAKER_08Hey, absolutely. I mean, she commanded respect. I mean, I do think her methods were way beyond brutal. The way she tortured that little girl because she made a mistake, like you seeing her versus the other, I can't remember her name that was also up in there in the huh?
SPEAKER_05The or the Ouron?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, the other lady that was there that Ten Jero was around that was about to go get married. I can't remember what their technical name is. Um, but then uh how she was using her bands to have a secret layer to secretly absorb all the powers and then torture some. No, uh Shami B was talking at the same time. Um so, but I did find it exponentially cute how she leaned on her brother when she was in trouble, that was in her, so to speak. Um, I did wish that we could have saw uh a Tangril Nezuko versus Doki and her brother. I thought that would have been hot. That would have been cool.
SPEAKER_01I I think we I think they overemphasized the fact that Tanjira really wasn't ready for a one-on-one. But I'm not gonna say his name yet. We'll get to it or her brother in a moment. I don't know.
SPEAKER_08Um an interesting backstory how she was where she was born, and she was a beautiful little girl until when she turned 13, she stabbed somebody in the eye, and everything went to shit. The lady of the house actually burned her alive. And then the upper demon, who was number two, I believe, actually saved her and her brother. So um, but I I I I like Doki for what she was. I think she was a good villain compared to the one that we saw in Moving Train. I think she gave more of a more of a fight for me, maybe.
SPEAKER_01But you're not talking about a causa, you're talking about the sleepy nigga, right?
SPEAKER_08Yes, the sleepy one.
SPEAKER_01You ain't been uh you look I'm still waiting for a causa to be his revenge.
SPEAKER_07No, no, no. We're not gonna disrespect the casa. We're gonna talk about the sleepy nigga from the train. Okay, I mean that's fine.
SPEAKER_05It's funny because like in the in the middle of the entertain, like at the beginning of the entertainment district, we see a causa get his shit like all the get brought all the way together by uh by Muzan, like in child form that was the part that gagged me. I was like, so you not only did your boss get you together, but he did so looking like a a a fucking six-year-old.
SPEAKER_01So I kind of I kinda I kind of specifically like kind of scanned over that. I didn't want to bring up a cause of shortcomings in this episode.
SPEAKER_05But shortcoming, I'll say this. I don't think it was a shortcoming, I think it was like clearly Muzon felt that was because it was more Muzon. Like, don't I I I thought I saw that as a moment where the writers were saying, Don't forget who's in charge here. Why would we forget? You may like little nuggets of like, oh, we gave you these bad bitch demons, but don't forget who's at the top. We're gonna remind you every now and again. Like, sure, you saw this badass moment with this demon, but don't forget the demon that is over all of these.
SPEAKER_08Also, to the sleeping nigga on the train was still in the lowers. Yeah, like this is yeah, he was a lower moon.
SPEAKER_09This was our first upper six, so and at six at that. So we we had the bottom of the upper six. And I'm just Docie should. I mean, Docie definitely uh brought her her and her brother definitely brought the the the fucking pain.
SPEAKER_08Um and and I just wanna the the my little pushback is I so I didn't I didn't like how they I didn't like how her brother showed up on the scene and she turned into yes that was my I like I in the beginning, yes, when she can't when she showed up on the scene, even though she was a a terrible bad bitch, she was definitely a bad bitch.
SPEAKER_09She was a terrible bad bitch.
SPEAKER_08I mean, she she was terrible, her personality was garbage. We're not gonna skip over this.
SPEAKER_05Well, first of all, hold on. The only defense I have for her is when you're a when you're that bad of a bitch, you you can be whoever the fuck you want.
SPEAKER_09Right. So yeah, so when she showed up on scene, I was like, oh shit, like okay, okay, and then she had like a second form, like with the with yeah, when you're gonna be like, right, she got her little um doctor's phone send cool. Yeah, her full, yeah, when she went full form out that bitch, but then I really hated, I really hated how they chopped all of that down to next to nothing when her brother came out of her because she immediately became like the the weakest bitch.
SPEAKER_08Like it was just it was just it was such a jazz.
SPEAKER_01She never came back from it, right?
SPEAKER_08It was such a jazz.
SPEAKER_09She tried to come back, but it just popped up on the scene, and and I just never expected her to become like the whiny crybaby type when when her brother showed up.
SPEAKER_08Like it it like I don't know. I didn't like it because and if we do compare like like Nesco and Tondra's like relationship, they don't like there's no breakdown like that.
SPEAKER_09Like they they wanted one together. So, um, so I that's when I when that was my only pushback for Dockie that I I hated the way they did that to her.
SPEAKER_08Well, I think once we saw her backstory, it made sense why she did that because she always leaned on her brother to protect her.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but I mean, I wouldn't say so much that she leaned on her brother to protect her. Her her brother put himself in the place to be that for her because of how he placed her on this kind of pedestal. Yeah, and so like from there, like he facilitated them having that kind of relationship. Exactly. My pushback specifically was that her bad bitch status when she was like an oiron, when she was in the house, I'm like, true, I run this shit. I'm the baddest in here, I'm the best one in here. Period. Don't say nothing to me, none of y'all can step out, and then kills the competition.
SPEAKER_01Not kill, put in a nest the competition.
SPEAKER_05It's like I have no competition because I am the competition, right? And so the moment for me where she stopped being a bad bitch was when in a same similar to Miss Skittles, where she like kind of turned into this whiny little thing, and it was interesting because they like Tengen was the one that chopped that shit down immediately, like immediately cut her head off, no fight, no hesitation. It was uh it was a run-up, one done, that's it. We good moving on, and then it was like, Oh, when she didn't die, then we saw, for all intents and purposes, who I saw as like, oh, this is the real upper six, like they aren't upper sixes together. He like her brother is the one who is the upper six, and he just carries her along in the process because otherwise, they could have been out of the entertainment district one and done. Because even Tingan was like, You're not the one I'm looking for, right? You you're too weak.
SPEAKER_08Now, full disclosure for me, I already knew that the brother was gonna pop out.
SPEAKER_03I was just because you were you you and your husband had the moment.
SPEAKER_08Exactly. I'm like, don't, don't, don't, don't do it. Don't do it. I didn't read shit. He read thank you. He let me know. So I was already prepared mentally for this nigga to pop out the dog.
SPEAKER_03I didn't know that.
SPEAKER_08Which gundem was that?
SPEAKER_05Orphans. Iron blooded orphaned orphan.
SPEAKER_08Iron blooded orphan. I can't have no character shots like that anymore, okay? I'm just on the floor for a minute. I can't do that. So I need to be more.
SPEAKER_05Are you interrogating him about attack on Titan 2? Because they keep going. I already know how that is.
SPEAKER_10I already know.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, with quick quick disclaimer, there's so many animes that she knows about that she probably should. So much that I just keep to myself and not tell her to keep to herself, that we'll just let Calab to the wind at some point. Like, like how the fire force news that came out.
SPEAKER_08I am clamoring at the TV like I need an anime now.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'm about to say, has her hand up. Yeah, I was gonna say, Sinead, you have a question? Sayane, sorry.
SPEAKER_08Oh no, I didn't have a question. I just wanted to um before I forget my my thought process, um, I actually like that she turned into a whiny bitch. Um so my my perspective is different. Um, usually bullies, and of course she was made to be that way, but usually bullies are weak. So I actually love that. Um we don't see a lot of versatility when it comes to villains being just mean and ruthless. We might get a backstory, but we don't see like they're not gonna always be that way. Um, you know, even like Maleficent or um, you know, different like the wicked witch of the West. That's why you have these backstores because they have different personalities, they're not always that one-dimensional personality at all times. Um, I like that she was a bitch. I loved it actually. Um, and I loved it because the one who you think is the baddest bitch is not the baddest bitch, it's her brother. And she was just the supporting actress, and it was he was the actual main focus. And I loved it because it took everybody aback. I love that. So my I guess my my perspective is different because I hated her. I couldn't stand that hoe. I really could not stand that bitch. So when I saw her be a punk ass bitch, I said, Oh, I love this shit. This is great. So I was eating it up.
SPEAKER_05Um it's those vulnerabilities that make for good character development.
SPEAKER_08It does, it does. And so, you know, of course, uh, you know, she's very she's she's sexy, sexy, she's powerful, uh, you know, she has this air about her, she has this superiority, but uh at the end, she is she's she's she's nothing really, uh, compared to her her brother, um, which is kind of sad because as a as a strong fem character, you know, we always want that strong femme character, no matter if they're right, they're no matter if they're uh a villain or a hero, we love to see it, but I love to see dimensions. You know, even if it's even if it's going against what I kind of want to see in general, I love seeing that because Demon Slayer, it it it really takes in account of different personalities. Um, and I was really trying to figure out how the fuck they were going to have this nice, sweet death scene or touching because both of them were were ancient niggas, the brother and a sister. So I was like, how are they going to end this between them and make me feel some type of way? And they always deliver when it comes to the death scenes, they always deliver. This one really, I was really trying to figure this shit out. And with the backstory of um of Dachi and the brother, I love the brother. I love the brother. Um I I love the character design, you know, I'm he was a good character design. He looked emaciated and sick. Um, but he was what the like one of the most powerful. Um, and at in at the end, um, I think he got the last laugh, to be honest. Um, it was it didn't even feel like a defeat. It didn't even feel like it to me. This the sister, yes, but him is because even when he he was dying, he still fucked up the entire town.
SPEAKER_10So it was just yeah, the whole district.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, thank God. Yeah, he got the last laugh. I think he was the closest killing everybody compared to everybody.
SPEAKER_05That episode before the final episode of the season, that cliffhanger was disrespectful, it was gorgeous.
SPEAKER_08It was very stressful. Like, I was see, I would have been stressed for a whole week if I know I can't think.
SPEAKER_01You keep bringing up the fact that you know all the secrets, damn it.
SPEAKER_05Anyway, those of us who don't know the secrets, anyway.
SPEAKER_08I didn't spoil it, I didn't say shit.
SPEAKER_01We didn't say you spoiled it. We just like, well, to thank you for letting us know that we were going to no way this way. You're like, oh, y'all, y'all don't know how embarrassing.
SPEAKER_03Let's see, then you would have got mad if I would have been like, Oh, he'd be like, We mad because you keep telling us, oh, well, I know the secrets. Well, bitch, you're not telling us, and we don't want to know, so why do you bring it up?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but your secret should also be a secret. We need you to be Alicia Keys, bitch.
SPEAKER_08Like, no, no, no, no. I need a different person. Our love stories are not the same.
SPEAKER_04Oh my lord. But but no, I was actually uh I was actually pretty uh on on board with uh Docky's. I didn't even consider it a personality change, even in uh even in real life when you like see somebody who's like super like uh just like has all they shit together or they're arrogant or they're uh you know, they they think they they have it easy, like uh it people like that whenever whenever you see them encounter another structure of either power or authority, that's kind of when they're not necessarily the real side, but you know, another side comes up, you know, even like you know, there's there's like you know, there's like CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, they go and talk to their mama and they you know and they and they go back and turn right, you know, you you still you still my child, you still talk to me but a certain type of way, da da da. So um, and uh so so that's that's just kind of uh how how I took it. She was she was a bad bitch to everyone else because she was better, you know, in her head than than all the than all those people. But uh, you know, but when she was with her brother, that's that that's that's that's what their I'm a little that's a little cess time when I'm with bro.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's that's what that's what their relationship was. And and you know, and I didn't even uh and I think and I think their backstory really uh uh put a lot of work into uh not not necessarily making me uh like her, but like, you know, but everybody was like saying like you know, like she ain't you know she ain't shit, but you know, she wasn't not shit, she was pure. She was she was she was pure and she and she completely absorbed whatever the the was happening in her circumstance, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Well her brother told her because like remember that she brought it up, like well, her brother brought up um Um Giutato, like what he brought up was that like he taught her to to be that way, yeah. Like part of the reason she stabbed that nigga in the eye because he taught her, like, get somebody before they somebody rolls up on you, exactly.
SPEAKER_07But that was also her parent.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, you know, like well, you figure he was also her parental figure because their mother died, and who knew who the daddy was? We'll go down that story. The mother didn't want them, yeah. Well, no, she didn't want the brother, she wanted the daughter because when she came out as a baby, she was this perfect baby, she just never wanted her son.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I feel like that's what I'm talking about. A perfect baby.
SPEAKER_08That's the that is I mean, that I mean, that's how she looked at it. Okay, you know who she reminded me of? The um, the the daughter, uh Docie. Docie reminded me of Oran Ishii from Kill Bill. Um very much so, you know. Who are you motherfuckers? Like it, you know, had a very uh kind of similar uh origin story. Uh she was a child, and there was a pedophile that was um that was taken advantage of her. Trying to trying to trying to, and she killed him. And that was um that was her origin story, you know.
SPEAKER_05And this and the gag was it was a it was a whole ass samurai.
SPEAKER_08He was supposed to be honorable, and she like he was like trying to be honorable. He was ahead of boss Takanaka. What is that? Was he ahead? Oh no, that was that was the Yakuza afterwards that she cut the head off. But yeah, he was um, but he was a a a boss, he was a um uh samurai, a samurai boss. Um that was big, but yeah, she killed him, and and that was the start of I will never let anyone take advantage of me. Um, and she learned that from her surroundings, you know, she was around a lot of people that were getting murdered in front of her face. Um, her parents were murdered in front of her, so all she knew was death and revenge and violence. So, and um, she was definitely a product of her environment. And, you know, like Kazi said, when you are a pure and clean slate, uh it's a pro and a con uh when it comes to this, because you're going to suck up everything around you. If it's negative, that's exactly what you're gonna be. If it's positive, that's most likely how you're gonna be. So, you know, that you have two characters that were pure, but they were an incredible example of a product of their environment.
SPEAKER_01I mean, honestly, I kind of agree, and I would almost go as far as to say O-ren from Kill Bill was a amalgamation of both Guiltaro and uh um Daki. Like that uh that purity, you know, childlike innocence. But because of all the stuff that happened around her, she, you know, grew this exterior where I'm not gonna be taken advantage of. Because that's literally what Giltaro was is that you know, as he was growing up, he knew he had to protect his sister. And you know, people's already not fucking with him. People already said, You look disease, you you know, you look ugly, all this other stuff. He's like, Okay, well, I'm gonna take advantage of that and I'm become a mercenary. I'm killing all you motherfuckers. I'm uh I don't give a shit. Well, you you already are scared of me, so now he's a debt collector.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, he's a debt collector, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But yeah, you're right. You're like same shit.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_01Um, and you know, you know, uh doing what he needed to do. And I mean I would say the only thing that Dockie got wrong was the fact that she didn't kill that nigga, she just stabbed him in the eye. Had she killed him, we would this would be a whole completely different story. But um, yeah, no, I I definitely agree. Yes. So um I was gonna save his name, but yes, uh, as uh the black McCoy said, Guiltaro, uh the name of the uh, as uh Miss Kittle said, the potential true upper six uh between the two uh uh brother and sister. And actually, what's interesting is I felt similar about him being the actual upper six. Uh, but I went as far as uh to I was with uh the black McCoy when we were watching it, and I we were speculating on, you know, since he appeared seemingly out of his sister, we were thinking, were they, you know, maybe they were joints at the hip, maybe they were like a Siamese uh child, maybe they were you know burned or killed together on top of each other, and that's why they were kind of fused together to the point where he could uh eject himself from her body. That's what we were thinking because it's like, well, why why they needed to be killed at the same time? Exactly. What about their union? What about their connection? Because we weren't sure what he was until she first said brother or he said sister, whichever came first. And we're okay, so they're siblings. Okay, so were they, you know, Siamese twins? Were they conjointed the hip? Were they, you know, maybe they were wrapped up as a mummy and burned together? Like, what exactly was the because I remember there was a flashback, either when she or I think it was when he was looking up and she was looking up, and there was flames all around. I was like, okay, they were burned together alive. Maybe that's what it was. But to actually see what happened, that floored me. Because I I I I couldn't have possibly imagined that that transpired the way that it did, you know, him, you know, being the debt collector, her being burned alive because nigga, uh samurai, honorable samurai ain't shit, and was mad because a bitch stabbed him in the eye. Like it wasn't even like she, you know, cut his dick off or something like that.
SPEAKER_08She literally stabbed him eye because he was being able to burn her if she cut his dick off, first of all.
SPEAKER_01Also true, but you know what I mean. Uh, and then and then the fucking the uh uh uh first off, I I feel no sympathy, sympathy for the um the lady of the house that got her shit rocked by uh by uh Guitaro. Uh she was talking all that shit, talking about, yeah, you know, it's a shame that she died. She she was pretty too, but you know, she needed to go anyway. I'm like, just because that nigga was collecting debts from you, you decided to orchestrate this part.
SPEAKER_08Talking about um, oh, I couldn't keep a handle on him and he was out of control. Well, bitch, you hired him.
SPEAKER_01You hired him, he's going out. Oh, but he keeps beating up my clients. You send him to collect debts. How else was he supposed to do it?
SPEAKER_05Right. He he's not navigating, he's not Sally Mae. He can't give people into motherfucking submission, bitch. Like he and even that doesn't work. So motherfuckers have to hit the streets and have to look for a to get these coins back.
SPEAKER_00Oh yo, this kid steal the shit out of the grid.
SPEAKER_08This this is an attempt to collect the deck.
SPEAKER_03Exactly, exactly.
SPEAKER_07Oh god. Um, yeah, and she did.
SPEAKER_05And and did I felt I felt no sympathy for the people they killed. I was like, true, they they deserved it.
SPEAKER_08No, no, that's not I felt like that was just as well served. No, weird.
SPEAKER_05Which I feel like it's weird for me to say it's like an ethics professor, but also like rather I say rather than saying they deserve it, I felt no sympathy for them. I'm like, mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Fair. Like, because there was no reason for them to go to the the the lemph lengths that they did. Because normally in a situation like that, you would uh the the what's the word? Um dismember a person back in kind of feudal Japan if they did something like that. So, like an eye for an eye, if you stole something, a hand for a hand.
SPEAKER_05See, you see, when you dismember people, you give them the opportunity to come back for revenge, and I don't have extra time for that.
SPEAKER_08So, what we're gonna do is we just gonna nip the that's the aquarium in you, because the one I'm sitting next to say the same thing. No ties, the whole house gotta go.
SPEAKER_05All right, trying I'm just trying to bloodline like that.
SPEAKER_07Aquarian.
SPEAKER_04I think it was also who they who they were. They had no no inherent worth to you know to society. So especially after she failed at do at doing her duty, so to speak. Then it was like, okay, well, why are you why are you here anyway? And and and we ain't like that nigga either.
SPEAKER_01So and that's the crazy part. It seemed like she liked him. You know, he gave her the hairpin, and you know, if he had moved slowly, maybe he wouldn't have got stabbed in the eye. But what her brother told him is if somebody gets too handsy and makes you uncomfortable, you handle that nigga like this. So if he had just done it the proper way, because although Orens are obviously in this like brothel-like house, there is a possibility of them being escort escorts, sure. Let's go with that word, escorts in a more prom uh pop popular way where you know they'd be their their um what's the word I want to use?
SPEAKER_08Um they are the same thing as like you remember like the geisha movie that was out? Is that like along the group? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So yeah, you don't have to actually sleep with them. You are you are a whiff, you can be with somebody, you can be uh uh their what is that word?
SPEAKER_09I just can't the head the head geisha in the house is called an orange, or yes, yeah, but yes, they're they're still artists, like they're not, you know, like prostitutes, yes, they're not prostitutes.
SPEAKER_08So like if you're doing too much, there are consequences.
SPEAKER_01There are consequences, they can actually kick you out, they can dismember you, like there's like depending on how prominent the geisha house is. Yes, yeah, that should happen.
SPEAKER_08So, like technically he was wrong, but the problem was she wasn't at that status yet, so she didn't have that say, exactly.
SPEAKER_05And the lady of the house wasn't you're right, she was still super young, still you know, not really known, she was poor. Yeah, that's what they didn't make.
SPEAKER_04The goal I didn't get that she was wrong.
SPEAKER_08I the goal is to sell married, right? No, no, no. So they I mean, I hate to to I mean, but that I mean they sell the virginity to the highest bidder.
SPEAKER_09So if you're if you're if you out here sucking and fucking before that happens, then it actually lowers your value, yeah, your value in uh in a house, in a geisha house.
SPEAKER_04So like I mean honestly, she just shouldn't have stabbed them in the eye, but you know, yeah, but no, that's that's what I that's what I caught, like, especially with like since they showed up together. I I thought she was she was sold and she just wasn't ready for all that. Her goodies were I I think he was following instructions. It was just it was just a fucked up situation. That's possible. Yeah, that's possible.
SPEAKER_08I think they left that part kind of unclear because you're like, okay, was he just trying to hit for one night? Did he buy it? Like what what happened?
SPEAKER_04I mean, yeah, but they but but like she was with him, like she was like they should they should she she was she went there to burn to burn her with like you know they they would they would just shoes on that nigga's arm and kissing and kissing ass. So yeah, I don't think I don't think he did anything stupid to her. Like if he it like if he came up and like and like Tiffany said and had bismirched one of her products, then I don't think she would have been uh trying to eat his ass like that. You know what?
SPEAKER_07If you are not over the age of 18, get the podcast.
SPEAKER_05If you're not over the age of 20, you can have teen at the end of your age.
SPEAKER_08Like at 18, you probably don't get things. We ain't gonna front. But yeah, the the Oran um is the the head bitch in charge when it comes to geisha.
SPEAKER_05Uh, the Oran is not fucking really.
SPEAKER_08They're at a sports.
SPEAKER_05That's why she was running that house like a mafia boss.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, like you're you're you're not you know, you don't you're you're usually the most beautiful one and the most skilled. And it's not just sex, it's you know, your beauty, your elegance, there's certain uh ceremonies that you are trained in, your purity, yeah, the way how you walk, the way how you talk, it's all about sensuality, but high class sensuality at the top of that. So um, but with that being said, everyone who is in a geisha house or who's an Iran usually doesn't come from a family of status. These are people who have to work from the bottom up, um, you know, and if you just had it like that and you were just it just excelled, that made it easy for you to have that status. And being Oran, you know, you can have you could marry off to a high, uh, a high status uh officer. You know, they were showing you um the little clip of what does it mean to be Oran? You you get to put uh respect back into your family's name, yeah, especially with them being from the slums and you know, they're always taught that they ain't shit. Having that opportunity, you can come from the bottom and go to the top, and then your name is no longer tarnished. You have you're bringing honor and respect to your family. So, you know, and uh that is huge for someone who possibly never would have ever had that opportunity to do so, they wouldn't have that that access. So, you know, you kind of sacrifice, not even compromise, you sacrifice uh you give up something, uh, which is possibly your you know, which is your virginity, or you give up your dignity uh as a uh a little girl because you're a child when you go there, you get trained. Because even in in the in Demon Slayer, you saw all those kids, they're ch children.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you know the attendants, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Everybody can be Kotomasaki from One Piece. Everybody can't be Hiori Kosuki, they can't be the most beautiful, the most beautiful Oiron who walks and heals so high that she's above everyone else. Then no one is she's and she was a scammer too. She was taking all these anyway. That's the difference. I thought about bad bitch oirons, and I thought about hiori kosuki. I thought you were talking about black Maria, but um, nope, nope.
SPEAKER_01Soirons. Well you said what oirons.
SPEAKER_05What about Skimurasaki? She was the Oiron. She was hot Maria.
SPEAKER_01She was just an Oiron on uh uh uh uh the island. What was she realistically, if you think about it?
SPEAKER_05I know she ran the district, I don't know if she was like anyway. Well, that we haven't gotten any way we're not there yet.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so um all right, so yes talked about Gil Taro, talked about Tengen, uh we we talked about uh Docky. So now, of course, the the the main not the main feature, but one of the main features in the entertainment district is the plot. So we're we're talking about, as we said before, you know, tengen came into the entertainment district to get his wives back, and under underlining the the uh the search for his wives is why they were there to begin with. They were researching uh and and you know uh um going behind the scenes uh to determine, you know, was there a upper 12 or upper six uh uh demon within the entertainment district? And he uh said at the beginning, he lost contact with his wives um a couple of weeks, or I think he said a couple of weeks or days ago before, you know, getting in contact with uh uh Tanjiro, uh Zenitsu, and um Inosuke. And, you know, the the first he put them in the three houses that his wives were supposed to be located in. And you know, they started, you know, doing their thing, you know, looking for people, uh looking for the wives and getting some information. And this whole story, this whole, as uh the black McCoy said, this whole kind of mafia undercover uh uh situation got uncovered, especially by Tanjiro, not Tanjiro, sorry. So well technically Inosuke's thank you. Uhinosuke found the demon or a demon. Zenitsu discovered the cruelty of the not knowing it was Daki Oran, and then Tanjiro found the pleasant side of the geisha house, not knowing that all the like it's interesting that they put who they put in those individual houses because if Inosuke was in Zenitsu's house, shit would have hit the fan on day one, right? If Tanjiro was in uh uh Inosuke's house, he would have smelt out the demon almost within the first day. Not saying Inosuke didn't do that, but Zenitsu, I mean, sorry, uh Tanjiro definitely would have been oh, I smell it. I smelled it from outside. There's something going on here.
SPEAKER_03Oh no, I mean that was upstairs.
SPEAKER_01And then if Zenetsu was in Tanjo's house, he would have been living the good life day in and day out with no issue. He probably wouldn't have been a part of the missionary.
SPEAKER_09He wouldn't have thought two things about it.
SPEAKER_01Two things about it like, oh, we're we're good. It's just Gucci, so it's it's interesting, it's good, in my opinion. I like what the the uh writers, of course, and the illustrators did um with the storyline about putting them in these individual houses and how it transpired because it allowed the story to progress. And I remember when I was watching with the Black McCoy, and it was for me, it was exciting to keep track of these technically four different stories because you also have to think about what the hell Tengan was doing outside of the houses, yeah. And you're like going from house to house, like some episodes were all Tanjiro, and then they give you like two minutes of Zenetsu and Inosuke, and then what one episode is like half uh uh uh half Inosuke, half uh uh Zenetsu, you don't see Tanjiro at all, and you're like, What the hell is going on in these places? Was like you gotta like keep your mind fresh about the previous episodes to stay along with the story to remember, okay, what's going on? So, because if you forget anything, by the time you get back to one of the characters, you're like, How the hell did he end up? Oh, right, right, right, right, right. Because that had happened, and now it's happening there. So I I love the way that they painted the story uh and allowed each of the characters to you know do their own investigations in these individual geisha houses. Um, how uh what what were, and I'm talking, of course, to our panelists, what were your feelings about how the uh uh how how this how the I'll say the mission, we'll just say the investigation was being carried out by the individual demon slayers leading up until they all met back together. Well, technically only umosuke and Tanjiro met back together, but uh by the time they met back together before uh you know the big fight towards the end. Um, and I guess we'll start with um uh Dr. Quindell.
SPEAKER_07Wait, what? No, no, no, we all just yelling at children. Um what was the question again? I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01No problem. I was saying how how how do you feel about the the the buildup of the mission, the investigation that Tandra Enosuke and Zanetsi were having inside the individual geisha houses as we were moving closer and closer to them really uncovering what the hell was going on. So before the fight, when we were leading up to that point, how did you feel about the progression of the story?
SPEAKER_08Um, I thought the progression of the story was was good. I thought it was paced well. It wasn't rushed, it wasn't like extra slow. It was it was like the perfect pace to give you those bits and pieces like you described from each house to then come together before the fight as one complete story. Um I I love how you also saw Tangan, how he was moving throughout the night, listening to the different sounds, playing into that sound breathing, listening to what's going on. Um I I I uh overall, I think I think it was good. I don't really have anything other words, but I I just felt like the pacing was right and the story was flushed out how it needed to be flushed out. Because you know, certain animes they be trying to get to the good part way fast, but then you're sitting here like, wait, I need more context. How do we get here? Yeah, how? And I didn't feel like I needed that. I felt like they explained everything perfectly well. I wasn't confused, but I do agree if if you either skipped a week or it was too long in between you seeing the next episode, I will would have suggested you do a recap because then you would have been lost.
SPEAKER_01Yes, uh Kosent.
SPEAKER_04Uh I thought the uh I thought the buildup was uh serviceable. Uh I was you know, I didn't dislike it, but I wasn't exactly drawn all the way in. Uh especially like uh it was the uh like I like I like the yeah, I like I like the humor of the show, but also that's that's not that that's that's that's not why I clicked that link. So when it so when it just kept kept going and I'm like, oh this this is the whole episode. Oh okay, okay. Um uh I did I did think it was interesting that um that like uh that like like the uh like in universe tangerodes and then two were like either like were were like ugly and or like too boyish to even like really successfully cut because it's it is just funny looking at them because they're both you could definitely draw both of them as as women, you could definitely put that hair in a girl's body on both of them, and they would be both of would be completely fine. So I guess it is it was interesting learning how the people in universe see them, uh when it's very it's very obvious, you know, in those cases, just just beautiful gorgeous somehow uh grown up on this mountain. But uh, but yeah, these two are just you know they they they just boys.
SPEAKER_01Uh 100%. And I uh just to add on to that, I love the fact that after he, you know, uh Tanjiro was uh had determined, you know, I've got enough information, I'm gonna leave the house. And he went to, you know, thank the Oran uh of his house, you know, for all that she's done and you know, appreciate and he's like, You just let you know, you know, I'm really a boy. Yeah, obviously.
SPEAKER_08Like he was shocked that she knew, like it was like so funny, dog.
SPEAKER_09I was like, bro, how did you how did you not know? You was running around here strong arming everything in the house. Like everybody knew. Everybody knew. Oh my god, you got done, you got done so quickly. Yes, because this is a strong ass nigga running around here.
SPEAKER_04She was like, I don't know what she was going through, but apparently it's a good point.
SPEAKER_05My shit clean as fuck.
SPEAKER_04Oh man, but no, yeah. Soon as uh well, I think I think I think as soon as I saw uh that first actually I was I was relatively captivated whenever uh Docnie was on screen. I was like, ooh, okay, okay. Uh but you know, but I think as soon as uh as soon as that first that that uh that like that first girl I got snatched up and uh and then was chasing the damn yes uh scarf through the belly rap shit. Yeah, you know, because I was you know, I was like watching, I was like checking my phone, I was like eating, and I was like, oh, you down.
SPEAKER_05Hold on. Oh we gotta end another episode where he like did all his legs and shit.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no. Well, you're gonna do fire, we're gonna do fire, gonna fire. Bring it back.
SPEAKER_08I agree with you, cause that that scene where uh little skate was chasing that. I was like, oh, he's leaving holes in the floor.
SPEAKER_03No, these are like a home over the gun.
SPEAKER_01You the people one, they thought he was a gun.
SPEAKER_04Whose insurance is paying for this? Also, as somebody who's like slightly claustrophobic, uh not slightly who's kind of some level of claustrophobic that that that nigga's comfortability in tight spaces. Yes, bothers the hell out of me. He just be face first, eyes, and just be wiggling. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
SPEAKER_01We'll get into the worm, we'll get into the worm's finished. All right, so uh uh uh Sayone, how did you feel about the buildup uh before uh the kind of climax towards the end of the season?
SPEAKER_08I thought the build-up was appropriate. Um, I thought it was appropriate for character development. I loved seeing the character's personality mature compared to the first season, um, and even uh the second season, uh, for looking at Zenetsu, not being afraid, um, being more, I would say, uh attacking an objective.
SPEAKER_01I'm sorry. I'm sorry, you said being more afraid. I said being more asleep.
SPEAKER_08Uh yeah, yeah, but I think now I think he's aware that he's sleeping.
SPEAKER_01No, no, because when he woke up, he was like, Oh my god, my legs are broken.
SPEAKER_08What happened? Because now he's now he's like constantly sleeping, but it's like I feel like subconsciously, I don't know. Like, I don't I don't know. I don't think he just blacks out and is like, oh my god, like why am I a Hashidah? You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01Like, I feel like the legs are broken.
SPEAKER_08Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. The nigga don't know what the fuck actually happens to his body, but I do think that he knows of some sense on his powers, hence he wouldn't be a Hashida. You see what I'm saying? That's how I see it.
SPEAKER_04Like if you're uh Demon Slayer.
SPEAKER_08I apologize, not a Hashida, Demon Slayer. Like, I feel like he ain't quite Hashida yet. Yeah, not Hashida yet, but I mean they well sh shit. Well, I'll talk about that later. I I love it, but um, but I um I really loved how uh it showed more character development. What I will say, and I don't know if I'm getting ahead of myself. Um I was expecting the the entertainment district to be more gritty, and I was very disappointed. Very disappointed. I didn't know.
SPEAKER_01You mean like a red light district?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, like with the first thing.
SPEAKER_01I kept trying to tell people it's entertainment, not red light.
SPEAKER_05They didn't say I also think that requires like we have to understand that when it comes to districts of that kind of variety, that there are gonna be heavy cultural differences even between here and like Europe and like and like Asian countries, especially Japan. Like the way they approach uh kind of like sexuality, the way they approach um, you know, prostitution and I use strong quotation and sex work and things of that nature, like it's gonna look really, really different. So I guess I'll say that knowing all that we've experienced through and understood or come to learn through anime and through Japanese media, on top of just kind of the the kind of quasi-seo-era that they are painting Demon Slayer as as existing in, um, that it made sense, right? Like there was like some sense of, oh, there's still a level of respectability. There are some like kind of virtue ethics associated with, you know, purity and things of that nature. So like I I I I it met my per personally, it met my expectations as to what I thought the entertainment district would look like. Because even in some other anime where they kind of use um the same, the similar um, I'll say, kind of um district or areas um in terms of like a red light district, um they they are all very much structured similarly, where like they look like these very they look like these very they look and function like these very respectable industries, right? They have a s they have an ethic, they have a code, they have a sense of culture and how one ought to conduct themselves when they go behind those doors or when they are engaging with the um various clientele clientele and such like that. So I guess uh uh I don't I think that the way in which we saw it was appropriate for the culture that it comes from, rather than you know, seeing like a bunch of street walkers and shit like that.
SPEAKER_08I wasn't even expecting that. Like I would say I got a better, I wish how do I say this? I wanted to see more behind the scenes. We see uh like a fan uh this this pretty fantastical view of the Oran um and space value, but what I wanted to see more of was like not that I wanted to see abuse, but I I I like seeing the the back side, the net the ugly side of it. And that's what I was expecting to see more of, like with Dockie being abusive as fuck, or um, you know, just this the ill treatment. Like that was what I was expecting. And when I or even when Dockey as a child was burned, like I I wanted not that I wanted to see more of that, I was expecting to see more of that. I just thought it was I don't know, too. PG. It had nothing to do with the sex, it had nothing to do with that. I wanted, I was thinking it was gonna give me more, and I I was left a feeling a little wanting with this season when it came to that setup.
SPEAKER_05Um it sounds like you want to like more world building in that in that regard.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, like I don't know, too fucking PG for me. When it came to just how how they envisioned it, I was I was expecting more. I want the the darker, the darker side of it because the Demon Slayer is fucking dark, you know what I'm saying? And that's what we've been getting. So I I it could just be me, but I didn't feel that greediness, that dark nature when it came to the um them and their houses, so to speak. Um Um you started seeing it more when you saw like the people, uh the women that were in the cloth. Like that was sick. I was like, are those fucking people in the in the sack? I love that. But I didn't I wanted more of that. And I it's not like I wanted it completely throughout because you know, when you constantly get that type of macabre, it can kind of be um not tone-deaf, but you just get used to it. But I was expecting more. Um, I thought they played uh the entertainment district, which is a very grown-up district, too safe for me personally. So I was disappointed with that. But when it came to the pacing, to the finale, um, to the big um fight scenes, I thought they did a good job.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_05My only pushback for that is that I I don't disagree with you. I just think that that's not what the entertainment district was about. So it wouldn't have made sense to focus too much on it in a way that pulled from the reason the focal characters were there in the first place.
SPEAKER_01Are you are you talking about the mission or are you talking about the district itself?
SPEAKER_05I think that like the I I guess both, right? Because the district itself was just the the backdrop for the mission that they were on in the first place. And I think that fo like I don't disagree with Son A in terms of like, you know, knowing more about the entertainment district itself and like the kind of dark underbelly and things of that nature. But I think that just given the nature of the kind of show that Demon Slayer is, as well as the the mission or the focal point that is the characters that were there and the reason they were there, it would have I don't I don't think that it would have made sense to go through all of that, especially when it didn't have any like relevant um bearing on the show itself or the characters. The actual story. Right, of the actual story.
SPEAKER_08The only reason why I disagree is because Tengen mentioned I was just about to say that. Yeah, and that and that's why that why I was disappointed because Tengen mentioned it in either the third, second or third episode.
SPEAKER_01Second or third episode, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, this is this is entertainment district shit go down in this big some some dirty, like dark people die, people get killed, people get snatched all the time.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and yeah, I agree. Like for me, I I understand that the uh what the Black McCoy said about maybe the more mafia or like human type of behind the scenes stuff has nothing to do with the premise of either the show or what was going on in the mission. I would have liked to have seen maybe some subordinate uh uh demons that were snatching some of the women up from behind, or even the belly scarf, like almost like a spider web snatching a woman off the street and then learn, you know, taking it somewhere, like watching that type of behind the scenes. Like we saw a couple of them when uh Zen uh Nosuke was chasing after it. But if I had seen like oh, kind of like how the um in the first season, the swamp, the swamp demon that was snatching the girls, so like at the beginning of one of the episodes, we saw the girl get snatched while she was walking next to the boy, and then another one gets snatched out of her bed. So it was kind of like explaining what's happening without you know Tanjiro or whoever being on the screen. So if we saw like random geishas being snatched out of their rooms or you know, random, like we saw a little bit of it, but I I kind of I do agree with what Sayone is saying about you know, for him to have made such a statement about just how dark and seedy and you know, uh um dangerous that the entertainment district is supposed to be, other than the three houses, we really didn't see, and then of course, everything that happened at the end, we really didn't see you know a lot of that danger that he was talking about.
SPEAKER_08But I feel like that would have just been like a filler at that point, you know what I'm saying? Like some people saying that as like a fill. No, but I'm saying, but even that little short clip, like some you it depends on the person, also it would have been like, Well, why is this here? What like what does this have to do with this story? It kind of needs to be an episode, it was just more so setting the tone because Demon Slayer does a great job with setting the tone, it going going into an arc, and that is what my issue was. That was why I kind of felt like I was I was left wanting more because um Tangan he he set the tone, and I didn't need like an episode of like subordinates, but when you set the tone that this place is very evil, or you know, be it the people itself that are not even demons, it's just the atmosphere, is just it has a a very negative underbelly. That was what Tangan that was that was the the foreshadowing that was prompt, and that for me, I I I very much tune into that. I love foreshadowing because I can always go back to that, hence why I'm going back to episode three, because I'm waiting, I'm like, where where is it? I'm like, okay, all right. Well, I see Dockey, all right, our core, whatever, you know, then towards the end, you you you anticipate uh the rising and climax. I anticipated everything from the fight scene, everything that that was perfect, no problems with that. Pending that time, prior to that time, I didn't get what the fuck I was promised personally, and that was my issue with this particular season. That was the only thing that I didn't like um because I really was holding on to that promise, and it just it just didn't deliver for me. So Sammy B said, Did you need like a uh a berserk type feel just a little bit in the episode? No, no, because berserk berserk in in Demon Slayer is a different level.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I would have been watching Demon Slayer.
SPEAKER_09I definitely think that um I don't know, like I mean, like you said, it is definitely like your your perspective on it.
SPEAKER_08And I and I and I see it and I get it, but I feel like yes, he set the tone, but like I think the whole anime set the tone because prior like leading up into this these fights, you know, we we've got um we've got missing wives, like we've got yeah, pe you know, people going missing, and it's all under the pretense that there's possibly an upper six in this district. So I I'm not like I'm I guess I'm just not sure what what more let's not forget that you saw Dockey literally throw somebody off out the window, remember? Right, but I think it would have liked the scene more like visually needed to be seen outside of what was being said vocally, like when you know, like you were saying, like they're missing whys and things. So there was a lot of story. I would I just need like like I don't know 10 seconds. You see like a geisha just getting fucking dragged off, you know. I just needed like a little bit more, and I completely again.
SPEAKER_05This is definitely you was looking for a Japanese sug night, baby. You was looking for Japanese, yeah.
SPEAKER_08That's why we describe us like again. It could is definitely something this just I mean, that's why I I definitely just kind of I I I just think it's just me. It could just be me, obviously, because you know, a lot of people think very different from from my perspective, but that was just why I had an issue with it. That was just my my perspective, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_06Actually, I want to chime, I just want to challenge real quick. I do understand what you're saying. Um not because uh when you're looking more for like how you know how the dark ingredients of chainsaw, man, where it's like it's a certain type of they talk about some of the underbelly, not the gory stuff of it, but they talk about some of the more underbelly, like dark stuff that goes on in the background of the city as a whole when you look at some of the more seedy areas.
SPEAKER_08I was yeah, yeah, like that, or um, even double man crybaby. Yeah. Yes.
SPEAKER_06I know I get I get okay, definitely. I'm just gonna say, so here's a thing. So here's a thing about here's a quick thing about Demon Slayer. Demon Slayer is gonna do this a lot more as we go throughout the story. Demon Slayer's darkness is always considered more with life and death, not so much with the actual choices of man, but but a lot of times when it comes to like their choices in terms of like how people look at death and immortality or how they look at um a person's saying uh ending coming a lot sooner than they wanted to or expected, which is a lot of the reason why a lot of people become demons because they see their time coming before they want it to. So therefore they're like, Well, how do I keep more of my time?
SPEAKER_08Stealing people from shaman king.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so it's like so pretty much they yeah, pretty much it's there's a there's a line in Shaman King where they talk about as you get older, you start to see your ceiling more. So that's why you focus more on in trusting in the the the future of a child because they don't see it yet. Where it's like because of where you're at in life, you may see your ceiling and you see where your stop, where your your heights are about to stop. And um, the darkness in Demon Slayer a lot of times deals more with that than it does with like the underbelly going on in the city or you know, the crime and all that stuff. They they actually tend to focus away from that, to stray away from that a lot. Where it's like, but they'll but they'll go to the darkness of death all the fucking time. Like they stay on that shit. They love to talk about the darkness of death, but all the other darknesses are like, they're like, ah, we don't know. And it's that's why it's like that's why when you look at the entertainment district, if you understand how Demon Slayer works as a whole, the entertainment district makes a lot more sense. I do understand what you're saying because even when I read it, I expected more for the entertainment district. But because of how mangas work, they're so much more of a focus story, you don't really care or even pay attention to that type of stuff. But um, but with the anime, you kind of because of how the scenes move and because of how everything goes, you do want more of that world building. But because of how Dima Sayer works, you won't get what you want from the anime from the entertainment district. You may get it from somewhere else, but or maybe another setting. But the entertainment district is always meant to turn it off a lot of people, to turn off a lot of people because of how that how they work.
SPEAKER_08I appreciate that. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Do you uh do you all think that the the backstory of Daki and Gyotado is kind of what you were asking for? That's getting to see that kind of like dark and seedy underbelly, so to speak, like the interworkings of the human psyche and the human interaction behind the entire kind of like facade of what I because I think um what uh Shammy Lee was just explaining about like thematically of how why people become demons, especially when it comes to Muza on Kibitsuji, um, as well as you know, just kind of thematically of like trying to avoid death and trying to continue to accumulate power or be something beyond the human experience in a way that you know part of the reason Daki and Gyotaro became demons was, you know, partly, you know, one Gyotato's love for his sister and trying to continue, give her the opportunity to continue life and preserve her life and live as long as she could, because he saw he had her on this pedestal. But at the same time, right, we got to see how they got to that point in the first place. So I think that's part of the, I think that might, and you know, might be the operative word satisfied that particular need to kind of see what it's like on the inside or what it's like in the darker aspects, because they were born for all intents and purposes at the very bottom. And like they were born in the slums, and the only reason that um Docie was held up to the um the the um the esteem that she was was because she was always perfect and beautiful in a way, and even seen as that way by her brother and tried to be protected and preserved in a way, and watching both of them being on this, like seen as like obscenely hideous and obscenely hideous but very dangerous and um extremely beautiful but very fragile aspects coming from where they came from and living in the entertainment district and growing up there. Um, do you think that that in some way kind of satisfies what you were looking for? Even though it doesn't give you like a full like, oh, let me see what this looks like in various nooks and crannies and to get a like a fuller picture. But it's almost like an instance that represents their their their backstory represents that kind could represent, excuse me, that kind of um larger understanding of what it looks like on the underground or on the other side of all the pretty lights and shit in the entertainment district.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it did. Like that's what I was saying. Like from Docky and forward, I had no problems. It it was perfect for me. I had no issues. That was because I think that was what I was used to seeing, like even with the spider, spider kid, spider mom, and you know, um, seeing the different like I was like miles. What do you mean? Oh my god, no, but um, yeah, I I so that was perfect for me. Like I had no issues. Um but Mark um made a fantastic point, and the point is it is an actual issue of my own because I'm comparing Demon Slayer as like their their focal point to other things that I watch reminiscent of that field. And I think that's why I was like, what the fuck is going on? Because I'm comparing it to like that that greenniness that I'm looking for, but that was not the point of entertainment district. Expect so uh uh Mark actually brought up a very good point. He was like, you know, they'll focus more on the actual uh philosophy of death and and the character's uh either um relationship to it or fear of it than the actual backstory grittiness of the surrounding area. So hearing that makes more sense and moving forward, I will appreciate that more than kind of seeing what I'm used to seeing, so to speak. You know, I've been spoiled in other animes or shown in, so to speak, when it comes to setting up a tone with background, not a backstory, but more so getting an idea of the area that you're about to walk into by seeing very dark visuals or getting a feel for what the fuck's gonna go down. So, with that being said, I think I'll start to change my perspective a little bit now that I know that, if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_05Because like there could because we're not Japanese, there could have very well been like cultural things that we just did not pick up on that could have alluded to those kinds of things already happening. So I think that's one of the one of the many downsides of being American. Um is that you know, there are cultural norms that we're not privy to that um communicate that could happen in the background or happen like in character interactions that we just don't pick up on because that's not a part of our culture and that's not a part of our like history in terms of how we have interacted with one interacted with one another.
SPEAKER_04Also, I think uh I think just Demon Slayer as a whole, I think they're very uh character focused as far as their world building comes. So like I don't I wouldn't even expect them to spend a whole lot of time building up like a setting. A world, uh yeah, like they they are good, they're gonna they're gonna show you their main cast, they're gonna show you like a secondary cast, they're gonna show you uh the the all the things they go through, they're gonna show you how they feel. But as far as like where these niggas at and what's going on in general around there, like I think out of all like the major like popular shonens, I know like the least uh about this world in general, uh especially especially just how the the demon slayers work.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, demon slayers such as that.
SPEAKER_04Uh yeah, and I was just like, I don't know shit, but but it's it's cool.
SPEAKER_05We hear on low key, the world is set up like there's this demon slayer corpse, and everybody else is just living their normal lives, a bunch of these demons running around and just doing whatever the fuck they want.
SPEAKER_06Unbeknownst to what the fuck is going on. Yeah, this this world, the way they build this world, even like normally you do a do a manga like this or anime like this, you'll see a little bit better world building. The way the demon slayers always built their world, and trust me, the way once again, like I said, this is a continuous thing. They literally build this world of like, yeah, nobody else, this demon thing has been going on for centuries, but no one else knows about it.
SPEAKER_05Like people talk shit about One Piece, but they can learn a lot from Oda and world building. That man will that man has built every aspect of One Piece to the T.
SPEAKER_09Well, not it's not like it's like too fucking long.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's like it's like you would walk into the mic and I'm still coming.
SPEAKER_06And I'm you know what? Man, we ain't gonna touch it. Fire Force is another one where they do a much better world building, yeah. Like Fire Force, so there's a lot of full meta optimists. There's a lot, like there's a lot of places that do a much better world building. But with Demon Slayer's, the love of Demon Slayer is literally in his characters. If you don't care for the characters, you will not care for the story. Because everything else about Demon Slayer is kind of basic or like bottom of the barrel, because it's like, like I said, the world building isn't that great. The art school here, the manga ass, like it's like the but the character, the character building, the way this person does characters is done so incredibly well to where literally they carry a story, which is something normally you don't see. You don't see the characters saying, Yo, fuck this whole world, just pay attention to us. Like it's just like normally you don't see negative animals that do that. I mean, even in some type of world.
SPEAKER_05Even in like Naruto, you got like a sense of, oh, okay, people who aren't ninjas know that they're ninjas. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06It's like it's like they they eventually played on that with the Sam, the play at the samurai's later on in a in a Naruto cheaper than it's like, yeah, yeah. They probably like that's not fair. But like I said, but they they eventually talked about other things and they gave you more of the world. Where it's like, like literally, Demon Slayer is just like just pay attention to these key characters, and you'll be all right. But if you step outside of this, you're gonna have a bad time.
SPEAKER_08Like it's like that's literally what happened to the kind of we kind of got a hint of that from season one because you remember when Trans Giro ran into Museen and and like that crowd of people, and then he like so swiftly cut that guy, and he was turning, and everybody was like, Is he sick? What's wrong with him? Yeah, nobody was. What's going on? Like they had no idea that he was turning into a demon. It's always like they had never seen one, didn't know what that was, or anything. It's just some strange disease he all of a sudden caught in the middle of the street.
SPEAKER_05I'm sorry, no, go ahead with Sarah Julia.
SPEAKER_01No, I was gonna say, even like that episode at the end of Moogan train with the grandmother and the granddaughter who were selling the snacks for the train, and how the grandmother she had experienced the demon years and years ago, but the daughter's like, No, that's fake. It's it's a story, it's a myth, it's a legend or a folk tale or whatever. And the grandmother's like, I think you should listen to like she didn't want to scare her granddaughter, but she was like, I just think you should listen to him, let him do whatever he wants to do. So I I I completely agree. Like, there is a there is a uh not a naivety, uh, ignorance. Ignorance is bliss to the existence of of demons in general in the story world.
SPEAKER_05You know what that reminds me of? What the the kind of part of the the first like episode or two of the strongest, the strongest mage with the weakest crest. That being demons have been around to the point of where the narrative had changed where like no one like the the way in which the strongest magic was used was completely like like there was like a transvaluation there where like everyone was using like um incantation magic versus incantationalist magic, and like people weren't concerned about demons in the way. Well, I'm not I'm just saying like I'm I'm trying to agree with you.
SPEAKER_01You you just I was gonna say I I think that might be the case if we find out in future arcs that when and I don't know, I haven't watched the I haven't read the man manga, I don't know anything about the storyline, so anything I could be saying, if it actually happens, hooray, it's all speculation. But what I'm saying is if in future arcs, you know, maybe we do a uh longer flashback, because we saw a little bit of the flashback in Dockey's head because of the cells from um Tanjiro's father, if maybe we see a flashback to previous in the arcs where like maybe when everybody was a Ronin and the demon slayers were really killed. Well, I don't know anything. This is all speculative.
SPEAKER_08No, I was I was that's just was not for you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay. Uh there's uh where the Ronans, you know, maybe everybody knows there's demons and they're actually slaying demons, and it's common knowledge, almost like the feudal era of Inyasha. They everybody know there's demons, everybody's getting killed by demons, but there are people who are the demon slayers are there to kill demons, and then further into the future, because maybe this big fight happened, or because uh a re-education like attack on Titan, or you know, something something happens where it switches, like you said, uh with uh the uh the uh the the the mage with the weakest crest, um, the strongest mates with the weakest crest, where there's a uh a re education once something happens, a big war, big fight, where everybody thinks this is no longer an issue. There's a decline in everybody's knowledge of the issue, and the next generations become less and less informed about something that's happened. Or maybe somebody, you know, in high power changed the textbooks, uh, like the uh the anime with the uh the um the Bushy and. And the Roman uh this uh killing Oni, where every the people in certain villages believe that the Oni are actually good and they're here to save everybody's lives, and the Bushi are you know uh uh violators against God, like that type of concept where there's a re-education.
SPEAKER_05If you all we'll save it for our next anime review, stay tuned.
SPEAKER_01What? Uh a re-education of nobody given the name of it, but you know, we're talking about it. I forget the name of it, it's Bushi something. But the re-education. Oh, see, see, I don't know it. Um Orient, sorry. Uh it's a re-education of you know, the the the the world, if you will, or the region or the town, or wherever they are, where you know people just don't know what's going on. So because everybody's now ignorant and stuff is still happening, they're like, oh, well, it it clearly, I mean, granted, we're going through that now in real life, you know, when people believe slavery was, you know, thousands of years ago.
SPEAKER_10Oh, but I'm that's not what I really meant to say.
SPEAKER_01I apologize. Um, yes, so um, Miss Skittles, we actually didn't give you the opportunity to talk about what you felt. Well, actually, uh the doc black mcquarry was about to say something, but Miss Skittles, you didn't get the opportunity to talk about how you felt about the progression of the anime uh leading up into the final fight. Uh the Black McCoy, did you have a point that you want to make before she started talking? Or you want to have to go? Oh no, Miss Skittles, please consider please. Right, I talk too fast. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_09So many times I can talk like a um so um I I enjoyed I enjoyed everything up into the to the to main fight. Um I thought the pacing was good. Um, like y'all were saying, like if you if you if you missed an episode or took too long to watch, because I was watching every Sunday.
SPEAKER_08Um if you took too long, like you was you, you're you're definitely gonna miss stuff um or forget something. Um, but um I think uh like like y'all were really like just discussing this whole thing, like the character, the character building, character development, like I think we saw, I think we saw sides of each character, um, especially while they were in the separate um separate geisha houses, like a little a little bit of their each of their personalities. We saw a little bit something different that we might not have seen before. Um like um, like so I I so I'm gonna use Inosuke as an example because um I really appreciated how how his character just wasn't like like in season one, that nigga was just screaming. Like I felt like he was screaming like the whole season, like he was just screaming on niggas the whole season. And I felt like here we we got a chance to see, like, okay, this is Inosuke on a mission, like actually like taking the time and being you know strategical about the way he's moving and and and quietly.
SPEAKER_01I was shocked when he stopped when he wasn't making a sound, I was like, what the fuck is going on?
SPEAKER_08Yes, yeah, um, even though um it was clearly obvious the reason why they told him not to talk, because yeah, he would have he definitely would have given himself away as a as a nigga. Um and somehow, you know, this might mountain strong nigga got away with being uh looking like a girl uh because he does look like a girl. But but um just you know I really appreciated seeing these like these small, you know, little snippets of their personalities that we haven't seen before in in in previous season or or whatever episodes.
SPEAKER_09So um so I I think I I think that's what I most appreciated about this season.
SPEAKER_08Just the just the you know the cute little bits of personality, uh character building that we saw throughout the the season. And um yeah, I don't I mean of course, you know, visually it's fucking stunning.
SPEAKER_09Um like every episode was was just pretty to look at.
SPEAKER_08I I have no man, like the art the art style of Demon Slayer is just phenomenal. I just I just want to say that. But but yeah, um every episode, like I I couldn't wait. I couldn't wait for um every episode. That's that's just where this season left me.
SPEAKER_09Um and I started late too. Um like I'm gonna get to it when I get to it. And then when I got to it, I was like, okay, where's the next front?
SPEAKER_08Um so yeah, I I really enjoyed this season and and um the pacing, the artwork, the character building, uh it was all on point for me. Um and I'm I'm ready. I'm ready.
SPEAKER_10Yo, she said her body is ready.
SPEAKER_09Yes, and then and then we got to say we're supposed to talk about the the after the main, or we just we about do that right now. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_01All right, so uh, so of course, you know, I was trying to, you know, I I did that question to kind of skip past, you know, the minutiae of the investigation to where we are uh at the end of this of the arc. Uh it it uh as Miss Skittle was just Miss Skittles was just alluding to the the the aesthetic, the the gorgeousness, the artwork. Um uh they built up these characters, um and their you know, the process of getting to this point. And there were I'll personally I felt like there were like 10 different fights, but based off of uh uh the outline, the storyboard of the anime, uh there were uh allegedly three separate big fights. Uh the first fight, of course, was uh Tanjiro versus Daki with then a variation into Nezuko versus Daki, and then a variation into Tanjiro holding back Nezuko. Uh that was fight number one. Uh then it was Tanjiro uh and Tengen versus Gyotaro when he appeared uh after he, you know, kind of you know pretty much called his sister bitch mate, like I ain't here for you, girl. We let's go after the real nigga. Um and you know, that fight.
SPEAKER_05Right, right.
SPEAKER_01Um, and then of course it was uh at the end, uh, where you know Dockey finally you know got her neck back, and uh, you know, she's you know distracting niggas, and then it was the netsu and inosuke uh versus Doki. Um it it just this um these three major fights spanning, I think, at least what, six, seven episodes, I believe. It's probably longer than that. I I know it was at least five, but I don't know the exact number. Um, but it was it was spanning episodes because you think about every single because there were a couple breaks in there, you know. Uh Nezuko had at least the episode and a half of stomping on the five. I needed more of her literately.
SPEAKER_08I need I need more Nezgo.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. But you know, she she needs to get to the point where she can handle it. So um I I kind of just want us to just talk about it as a whole because these fights aesthetically, these fights strategically, the the the absolute beauty of uh Tengen Spinning Blades versus Guitaro Sites at that last fight. Like it was just like like if any Yasha's Blades of Blood from back in the day looked like that, like any Yasha would be a whole different franchise right now. Like they like forget the 10 uh uh the 10 Sega and Ten Sega Ten Saiga, like blades of blood would have been the move. Like Adam and Barrage is cool and all, medals and get you how it's cool and all. But if the blades of blood looked like that and could do what they were doing, come on, like it would have it would have been a different story. I said in Iasha, wasn't nobody talking about Shephamaru, Miss Skittles, because the the arc in your lip, like I know you ain't finna talk about my man's sword, like wasn't nobody doing that. I wasn't I wasn't I wasn't talking about that nigga, but um, like can we just go ahead and talk about these fight scenes? Uh the epicness uh of how they built uh as we've all been saying, the the character growth leading up into these fights. Um, I I've seen so many memes about uh Tanjiro dying six times uh during the course of these fights and still getting back up. Um like like I said, Nazuko stepping on next, uh Zenetsu needing to stay asleep, uh Inosuke becoming a worm. Like there were just so many things going on. Uh, and we didn't even really talk about you know uh uh uh Inosuke, technically Inosuke Zenetsu and Tangin versus the uh belly scarf is what I'm gonna call it because I can't remember the exact name of the clothing item.
SPEAKER_08Um I think an obi, I believe.
SPEAKER_01Is it an ob okay? Um, but just just the being in that pit, like that's that would that so real quick, when I was saying that I wanted to see like somebody get snatched, I wanted to see somebody get snatched and them doing like a shadowy, dark um visual of that nest. So it it tricked you into believing there's some type of spider, but in fact, it was just the OB, right? That's what I wanted to see, like almost like it was gulping the thing down, and you see it moving almost like to a snake's stomach all the way down into the nest.
SPEAKER_08That's kind of what I wanted to see, but anywho, so okay, and she also gotta remember Doctor only chose the most beautiful to keep her beautiful, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But she could have just how long was she doing that though for a while, exactly. There was already a bunch of bones in the bottom. They could have shown it.
SPEAKER_05Let's stop for a minute. We had to stop why we're stopping because we cannot start this conversation off this way. We my girl Nezuko.
SPEAKER_10Oh god, thank you.
SPEAKER_05My girl Nezuko, the way she came out with that leg swinging with the full force of Sanji and Chun Li. This cut her leg off. She said, Bitch, another one wasn't it, and it was the part that get the part that that lifted my spirit to another plane of existence was when Doki thought that one, she had the audacity to call the kick basic, she had the audacity to downplay the kick that was not to pull this bitch to the ground. Secondly, when she got that kick delivered to her bitch ass, when I tell you the sense of satisfaction I received when Nezuko threw that demon bulky ass leg that she decided to grow and age 20 years in those three minutes, send this bitch to this tumble.
SPEAKER_08Uh uh, no, you didn't. A whole tattoo line going down.
SPEAKER_03Where did this come from?
SPEAKER_08What did you been doing in that book?
SPEAKER_09Nezuko had a bloodlust gone moment and it changed everybody's life.
SPEAKER_08I was like, she trained in the box.
SPEAKER_05For listeners who don't know, like when when when when our other panelists have their periods, I call it the blood mother coming from coming for her offering offering. Nezuko was the blood mother in that moment. She she came for her offering and she took it. She took it with with no regard for any other individual.
SPEAKER_08Right. I I remember when when she you first saw her pop out the box all strong, about kick the shit out of Dockie, and then they were like, Oh, next episode. I was like, bitch, no. No.
SPEAKER_05Did you have her little horn and shit poking out? Do I know when they gave her titties like that? I absolutely don't. I feel it wasn't necessarily no.
SPEAKER_08I mean, I feel like she had to step on Dockie's net and be like, bitch, I can have him too. Like, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_03Nigga, you ain't special. Right.
SPEAKER_08It was.
SPEAKER_05It's like this is funny because I was listening to the um our our blurry court episode, and I was listening to um Miss Skittles talk about um we were talking about um Hisoka. And we we brought up Neziko where she got her little titties or whatever. And we was like, we was all like, why?
SPEAKER_09Right, exactly. It would, I mean, like like I said, it was definitely like it definitely um it immediately when it happened, it definitely took me to a hunter hunter moment, and and then I and then I was just like, but why though?
SPEAKER_08Like, but why?
SPEAKER_05Uh because the first time she had her little ascended strength moment when he was fighting Ryu, the spider demon, the lower uh lower six, she she didn't go through all that. She ascended into her power, she set them little things on fire with her blood art, and she kept it moving, right? But I don't know why it was necessary this time.
SPEAKER_08Maybe she didn't feel like she had to boss up on Ryu because he was a child just like her. So, you know, maybe she's trying to give in the playing field. I don't know. I think it was I think it was definitely fan service. We haven't seen any. I I will say, you know, I I I per particularly don't care for fan service, although I love a good set of titties.
SPEAKER_09I I don't care for it in my anime, particularly.
SPEAKER_08So uh I will say um Demon Slayer has done a good job of not providing fan service until this season. Um, I think Nessiko was I mean, I it I think it was just obvious fan service. Like what it means.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_08Like you had a busty season. It wasn't like like it wasn't on purpose. Like they were they were out there, and yes, they they were they had big ass and titty, but they wasn't like shaking around in the screen and shit like that. That's why we're just like when Neziko popped out of that box, they we literally saw like from toe to to to to head, like okay, we about to see a wheel everywhere, everywhere he grows, and and and I felt like that was fan service. Yes, I agree, it was fan service, and I also agree with Domo as well that it was like a step up, like bitch, you got titties and long legs. I can just understand we about to just titty this motherfucker up. Yeah, no, but Black McCoy, you said it. You was like, you know, you had Tengen and History Wives, then you had Dockey out here, then you were in the the entertainment district. I just felt like there was no other way to go with Ned's call this season than to do that, to grow her up a bit, to keep her up with everybody else at that point.
SPEAKER_05It was without sexualizing her because she's still a child.
SPEAKER_08I mean, I mean, you could have not sexualized her, I agree, but I mean, I just think that was the way to give, like Miss Skittle said, the fan service to go with the rest of the fan service.
SPEAKER_05If Hunter Hunter can make Biscuit Kruger in the way that they did, everybody else, everybody else can follow suit.
SPEAKER_08It was fan service, but it wasn't like disgusting fan service. Like I hate um no, no, I agree.
SPEAKER_05It was not like overtly like, oh, this is a problem, right? Yeah, and it wasn't dwelled upon, right?
SPEAKER_08As problematic as it is, it wasn't dwelt upon in the anime. Yeah, well, community is another thing.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, community.
SPEAKER_08But you know, then it goes back to our previous uh podcast episode that that is majority of the anime, like you know, the Skittles was saying, like, so people can't just pick and choose their fucking fights, like it's all over. You can't just pick and choose. Oh my god, no, this is not appropriate. I'm like, bitch, it's all over the place, like Seven Deadly Sins, uh killer kill, a comedy. Every time you saw Elizabeth, god damn it, like come on, put them away. I as well do not like fan service when it's like over. I just I just don't care for it because it doesn't add anything. Um it was very interesting. I I'm not gonna say that I didn't like the switch up.
SPEAKER_04I was like it's like okay, you a bad bitch. I could I could have waited, I could have waited 10 years.
SPEAKER_08I could have waited for a time again, but uh Demon Slayer, they know how to change it up, and and I appreciate them. Um, because it it again, would it have changed how we see Nezuko um if she if she came out doing the same shit in her regular form? No, not really. Um, but I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Uh we've seen Yoda do some very interesting things. I would love to see the little Nezuko go off.
SPEAKER_08But you know, but was it a wonderful surprise that just added just like a little bit more season into that chicken? It was, and so I I wasn't mad at that.
SPEAKER_05You calling it the Lowry's Lord, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think I think the other side of the kind of shock and and and the part and I mean honestly, part of the reason that conversation like went on was because Nezuko's very specifically set up as the protected little sister, yeah, figure, and she was all of our little sister. So so so the fact that you you you you you made that for us. You did you you portrayed her in that way, and then you switched to 12.
SPEAKER_07Oh, you probably said I'm sorry, I thought it was a little bit more than that.
SPEAKER_01So you know, she's 12.
SPEAKER_07Uh I mean, so she's around the age of poverty then is what you just said. No, not like it don't happen that way.
SPEAKER_04I mean, not overnight, not overnight, like you just pop out a box and bam, you said I'm saying yeah, I honestly the uh the the thing the thing that threw me and uh I I I just I don't like anything being uh uh unsupported or uh you know uh or uh unexplained. But soon as soon as I rationalize that, like okay, she's doing the same thing in reverse, she get like because it's not like she doesn't just shrink and has the same proportion, she becomes she becomes like a little girl when she gets in the box. So this is literally just the other direction. So it's like it was it wasn't like out of nowhere, it wasn't like you know, I had I just had to think of it like that and be like, okay, so it was still sand service, but more importantly, y'all y'all ain't pulled like this ability out y'all like like the blood, like the blood healing later.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, so to to add a little extra, I I Googled uh their ages.
SPEAKER_09We'll get to that because I don't I don't I don't think I don't think it was like out of the hat. Like we were we're literally watching Tanjiro figure out how to do fucking breathing techniques together, mid-fight, mid-fight.
SPEAKER_05So I don't I don't think the blood healing his body's in decline, yeah.
SPEAKER_09So apparently, let me fire breathe. Oh, I can't do that. Let me fire too together just because someone's bullshitting more, don't make other bullshit.
SPEAKER_04That's not that's not how this works.
SPEAKER_05Well, apparently, by by by this peak point in the story, I've um so uh Tondro is 15 and Nezuko's 14. They're only like a year apart, but you know, but still apparently that's where they are.
SPEAKER_01Technically, she she I don't want to say died, but she became a demon at 12 and chronologically, she's 14. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Her body's still a 12-year-old.
SPEAKER_05Her body was 25, bitch. Like, what? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_08I mean, no, honey, her body was 25.
SPEAKER_03All right, yeah, when it popped out of the box and grew titties, like she died at 13.
SPEAKER_05Stop, she's not angry, she's about to be.
SPEAKER_09I agree with Succi. She her bot when she died, she was fucking 12.
SPEAKER_04So, yeah, how we go from the 20 body to 25, yeah, like Docki's a grown woman because she probably because she wants to be a grown woman, yeah.
SPEAKER_05100 uh that to that point, we also see we also see Muzon switch bodies constantly.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say, Muzon is a whole, like, I hate using this because y'all always use it, but I'm gonna say it only in this context for this particular statement. So don't repeat it. Matter of fact, I ain't gonna say it anymore. But he's a particular artist that y'all keep saying what you were gonna say, plus he's like Orochimaru and Pride from Full Metal Alchemist, all in the same body a thousand percent. So, like, I I I'm I'm excited to see what the I will claim kibutsuji.
SPEAKER_05I will claim kibutsuji as gender non for me.
SPEAKER_01Same thing with Orochimaru.
SPEAKER_08I want to know what you were gonna say. I want to know what you were gonna say. You know how you do this.
SPEAKER_01You you you did all this building. None of you do, literally, every single one of you, except for Miss Skittle. She's never actually said whether she likes it or not.
SPEAKER_02But she's a firecracker too, so we're gonna loop her in this, all right?
SPEAKER_05Her time with you is much more limited than the rest of us. Exactly. That's what she has to deal with on a regular basis.
SPEAKER_08And she be ready to fight you too, darn these for a tournament. So don't do that.
SPEAKER_01Which is why I haven't done a tournament in a while.
SPEAKER_09Why do we do it? What is the okay?
SPEAKER_05Basically, Suchi did that thing where he was about to say something, but then he he built all the way up in it and just like, you know what? I'm not gonna say it like nigga, go ahead and say what you was gonna say.
SPEAKER_10You put everyone through this entire process. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01So you're gonna say it or no? Oh my god. So we're talking about the fight scene.
SPEAKER_10So don't be no punk.
SPEAKER_03Thank you. See how easy that is. See how easy that was? Oh, I was gonna call him Michael Jackson too. Then why would you just say Michael Jackson?
SPEAKER_05Because I said I wasn't gonna say it like three episodes ago. We call him Bubbles the like the chimp raper or something like that. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01That was a lot.
SPEAKER_10He took a laugh.
SPEAKER_01You know what? Uh we're gonna just move on from that.
SPEAKER_07Uh boom versus Skittle Space though.
SPEAKER_03Right, she came back with the questionable look.
SPEAKER_05Side note with that being said, um, if you're not watching if you're watching Attack on Titan, Annie is not okay.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow, we had one spoiler. Come on now. Um but yeah, so um continuing on what we're talking about with the five different fight scenes, I actually a good question to kind of wrap up this particular aspect of it. Of the ending of the season, what point, which fight, what aspect of each fight, what is the one thing that lives rent-free inside of your head within the last 10 episodes of this uh this particular arc, the entertainment district? What aspect of which fight, whose fight was it? What scene do you recall? You said it's a lot.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I mean, like, I know for me, one of the favorite parts was when Anosuke was using his uh swords, like some razor blades, like he was just like I was like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_04I was like, I was so like duh like I I don't know why it just took me a minute.
SPEAKER_08How he tried, he he like carried her hair like it was a football, and he went for the inside.
SPEAKER_02I was like, Yeah, that's it.
SPEAKER_08Heisman, yes, that was one of my favorite parts, but yeah, who else? Who else? Who's next? I was I was on the edge of my seat because I was like, bitch, you just needed to breathe one more fucking breath, and her head would have been off. Like I just said, please just breathe one more, and then he's like I'm like Yeah, I mean now we know that wouldn't have meant shit.
SPEAKER_04It wouldn't have meant shit. But but no, yeah, that that that that that first fire moment would have me had me on the edge, edge of my seat. I would, you know, especially you know, especially like after where he's like, fuck it. I can't I can't do shit. I can't move, I can't, da-da-da. And then uh, you know, and then that nigga had like five, six more tanks. Yep, and more fire.
SPEAKER_08Like he had an imaginary oxygen tank in this nigga's right.
SPEAKER_01I I don't hope I don't wish this on him, but I want like in the next art when they like do a uh a health scan or something or check his like body. I hope he has like like like lung cancer or something, like something to the extent that his lungs are burnt out because he kept doing the technique, some type of what's the word, repercussions for doing it so many times.
SPEAKER_08I need I need long term, I need I need I need I need two levels. The scar, like the form of his scar, like every time he uses the technique, his scar gets bigger and its shape changes.
SPEAKER_04So that's a basic repercussion that this looks cool.
SPEAKER_01Oh, don't do that. It might be something in the long run. Oh shit, but that's what I mean. Like, I think I want I want, like you said, some type of long-term repercussions because for him to keep hitting these, because like even who's a good example?
SPEAKER_09Um no, I don't want any repercussions. We've been watching Donan anime for years, and niggas been doing wild shit with the no lead to why you're not wishing on Ten Giro though.
SPEAKER_01Even Teng, it was other than the fact that Nezuko has magic bleeding hands.
SPEAKER_08No, that shit fucked me up when she went over there and she was trying to heal him, and his one wife was like, I'm gonna fucking was dying because that bitch is like why are you talking about man, girl?
SPEAKER_04Like it was hilarious. I mean, and and other and other animes have built in in universe ways to to die to dodge these repercussions. That there's this magical healing ninja, magic being they they don't have the anatomy of humans, there's dragon balls, these niggas are tough people. Yep. So it's about to say the uh my hero got super nursed. So until you give me the the the the the reason in the way that these people aren't just aren't just breaking down, I mean it's just uh you know it just it just affects your stakes. I'm not I'm not I'm not gonna I'm not I'm just not gonna believe you next time if your body if your body ain't body in the way of body bodies.
SPEAKER_01Wow, wow like when I was watching that last scene, like when especially when he was like on his knees, um and he was like gasping for air, and Tangan was telling him to run, and that was right when uh Gil Tower was about to like decimate the entertainment district. I was talking to the black mccoy, and I was like, I hope, because I'm like I'm still on the level where this this isn't a regular shonen where they have some magical something that's gonna bring them back to life. I'm in the mindset that okay, the only people I know can factually heal is who uh Shinobu's uh uh uh people, right? They were healing them and doing certain things to bring them back to help. So I was like, I hope Shinobu's people, like a crow, went to go get them and the in the healing corpse to a core, sorry, to come in. Like I'm hoping somebody comes around the corner and starts healing people. Like, that's what I was like, okay, it's about to happen. I was like, wait a minute, nobody's coming. Wait, wait, where no, no, no butterflies, nothing, not a magical butterfly about to show up and heal because I was mainly worried about the poison because I was like, you can heal the body, but the poison, like nobody, yeah.
SPEAKER_05I will say I was not upset with the demon poison thing. I was not upset with Nezuko being able to heal him from that, and I think that was um Kazi. Sorry to interrupt you because I saw that you're talking, but um, I think that that was just a way of them showing what that ability can do. Because when we first see her like use her blood demon art, she basically burns up uh uh Ryus blood demon art. Like he she is able to destroy his demon webs that are like super basically indestructible by using her own kind of blood demon art to do so. And so I think by extension, um, the poison that is that was in Tengan was not like regular poison. In the same way that he had special demon poison, the um Gyotaru had like um just a special demon kind of grade of poison. And because that poison and this is me kind of guesstimating, just based on the context of what was given to the show and through those episodes, that that poison specifically was a part of his demon ability, and her and her healing him and her destroying the poison was her burning up that demon ability in the same way that she burned up, reused demon ability at the end of whatever season that was in the first season.
SPEAKER_07I agree, I agree.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, season one.
SPEAKER_06That's gonna be a what I said. Just got to go spot. One one bullshit moment after another. It's we'll keep going until the end of the series.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so I'd be so like that. That's a that's a great explanation for it, and what I needed for that, because it's not it's not just it's not just her ability to destroy demon stuff and artifacts and leftovers, it's it's the it's the fact that you could just like like so. If she did her like demon fire thing and like and and uh if tangiro like flew through like a piece of it and it didn't hurt him, showing that she can just not damage the not demon stuff if she wants to, then that I but then that I would have put I would have pieced all that together. But the fact that she's just putting niggas on fire is only burning exactly what she wants, and and it just so happens to be the work forward, the exact same thing that happened just then. It was just it was just like it was it was just to me things aligning without the setup that I that I usually require and and to and to you know and on that same note, I was I was out, I was it took me completely out the moment when fucking andosuke got stabbed. Oh yeah, because I was like, oh Lord, when our baby got took that stab.
SPEAKER_05I was like, Lord Jesus, not enough. No, no, I was I was the opposite.
SPEAKER_04I was like, Y'all not wait, y'all not gonna kill him. And so like I was not, I was like, not I was instantly not excited no more because I was like, wait, y'all gonna pull some there's no good reason for him to survive this, and and and I went and I and I called I I I called Suchi and I went down the list of bullshit and they picked B. They pick B.
SPEAKER_08Like, you know, I have five options and they chose this one.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I'm gonna move my organs, and and I wasn't, you know, I guess moved the organs, so I wasn't mad bad at it, but what really pissed me off was like I'm from the mountains, so I'm poison resistant. Ain't no damn scorpion.
SPEAKER_02No, he legit.
SPEAKER_08You know, Inoske is enamored by um by Tingen, so he was only repeating the same shit that nigga said that Tangan said. Tangan literally said that, and all he did was repeat it.
SPEAKER_04So I'm just saying it's alive, yeah, which means he shouldn't have died with the the fact that there was poison that should have killed him. That's the point. So him repeating what Tangan said doesn't magically give his body the ability to me.
SPEAKER_05I mean, even on that same note, like Tingan wasn't the poison just took longer to take effect on Tingan.
SPEAKER_09He wasn't like he wouldn't die too. Yeah, he would have called it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I mean, that's part of the that's part of the point. It was kind of like uh a bunch of people almost died. So so it's kind of like you kind of you kind of just left this you kind of just left the poison out, really. It didn't do anything, like it's it it took it like the poison was part of the the buildup and the power base and the fear that I had of this dude, and uh and and y'all and and y'all had him poison like everybody and everyone just kind of whoo and I will say do you think that maybe like Inosuke may not have been lying entirely, but maybe no no I don't think he was I don't think he's lying.
SPEAKER_05I was just saying, yeah, but like I think but do you think it was like supreme bullshit or you think it was like okay, well, the reason he gave it's explanation enough for him to be able to persist a little bit longer than maybe Tanjiro or Zenitsu would be able to do, but generally speaking, like he would have he still would have died.
SPEAKER_01I think he 100% would have died. I mean, if you think about it in terms of people who were infected by the poison, he was the last, second to last person who was affected by the poison. And moments, I mean, realistically, all of this happened within the nighttime, so it's not like it was hours later, maximum, maybe 30 minutes, probably 10 to 15 minutes, uh uh uh Nezuko got over to him and you know burnt out the uh the demon poison. So realistically, because even the um even Gotaru said that I forget if he was talking about um Tanjiro or uh Tengen, but he said, you know, maximum an hour and then he'll be dead. So if we, you know, and I'm not about to myth busters this shit, but if we say we say tengen, who had like ninja, you know, uh neurotoxins in his body, had the ability to uh fight against certain poisons, but not demon poison, and was able to last an hour. And then let's say, uh, let's say that you know, uh uh Inosuke isn't excuse me, isn't lying about having certain uh animal poison. Maybe he's been poisoned before by other animals or plants inside the forest. And let's say he has been poisoned before and has maybe not ninja level of uh um uh poison resistance, but maybe he has a little bit of poison resistance, so maybe it's not an hour long, maybe he'll last 15 minutes, which is just enough, and then he got stabbed through the chest. Although he did move his organs around because we already saw he can do that. So maybe Nezuko got to him right before he died.
SPEAKER_05Interesting ability, which I uh want to experience just for like to understand it. Thank you.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, I mean like it this is kind of like a waist trainer, it'll move him around for you. I I you know, I I just you know, I I just well whenever whenever like you build like a universe and a lore and a power set and uh all these things, I just uh based on what you tell me, I I I built I built my acceptable uh but you know, bullshitometer. And these are not this is a the despite how gorgeous it is, this is a very uh especially on the you know the heroic protagonist side, this is a very low power show. These people cannot do a lot of things. So the fact that everything these niggas could do magically lined up in in the right order at the right time, all at once. It was like, yeah, I need I need these spaced out or or very heavily like set up beforehand, so I could like you know, and it so you know it's it's just little things that just take me out, take me out the moment. Like at the end of the day, it's anime, it's all bullshit, right? Right, but but but set your bullshit up, don't don't slam it all together.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I I think the only thing I'll say is kind of like what the black McCoy said about kind of like you were saying that you know the buildup of the poison and Guitaro like having this incurable poison that you know, once you get touched, you'll get killed. Type of you know, uh fear that he's instilling within the watcher or the reader, saying, you know, your favorite character is about to die because they've been like from like Tondra literally got pierced from the bottom of his mouth through the roof of his mouth. I I thought it was over. That shit I don't thought it was. I thought he was gonna bleed out, honestly. I wasn't worried about the poison.
SPEAKER_04He got cut, he got cut in his shit at real time. Like, I'm now slow down when right here to right here.
SPEAKER_05I was like, Oh, he's dead. Like right, that's it.
SPEAKER_04That's it, it's over. I was like, hi, how tadro bring the sword from behind his shoulder all the way, 108 degrees.
SPEAKER_01This nigga kept flicking the wrist.
SPEAKER_04That's not the explaining.
SPEAKER_01I'm not explaining that. I don't know nothing about that. I don't know. I'm not a swordsman, I got nothing for you.
SPEAKER_04All I got is is it's too much. It's all I was gonna say. I wasn't even poisoning make your whole body shut down in 15 minutes.
SPEAKER_03His jaw should have been like hanging or loose or something.
SPEAKER_05Like, he didn't dislocate the jaw, he didn't do the bottle, and for all intents and purposes, your jaw has a gap underneath it, right? It does like your jaw is aware where your teeth are going, and there's a space right here.
SPEAKER_04So Kevin, he didn't bum yeah, no, I mean through all that meat and flesh. No, the problem the problem is the nigga can rip a building in half with his pinky. So so that comma coming anywhere near his jaw should have turned Tadro's head into pay, and it should have stopped when it did. That nigga should have had to heal and breathe his jaw back on. That's what should have happened. But but that's not the rating the show has.
SPEAKER_05I am very eager to see the the I think one of the I'm very eager to see the recovery period from this entire arc. Yeah, yeah, anymore.
SPEAKER_01At least the time scale.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I thought we would have gone into that, but I guess I you know wasn't looking at the time bracket at the bottom. Um, because you know, at the the last big fight, we saw them in their recovery, or you at least saw them laying down. So I'm like, so where was that? Like, I wanted it's almost like I needed one more episode just to get that full completion that we've gotten the last couple episodes or seasons to get that recovery time. Then you see them going in there, not even going into the training portion, just the recovery portion of it.
SPEAKER_05Oben I think I said fuck all that. We got more shit to do. What you mean for real recovery time? Oban eye came in at the end of all of that and was like, get your punk ass up. What the fuck is wrong with you? How dare you? Aren't you a hoshita and you're still weak as fuck? I need to understand.
SPEAKER_01I've I've talked about it. I don't want to talk about open eye again. Fuck that.
unknownNo, no, no.
SPEAKER_08I'm not gonna get on Miss Hill's bad side, but I do want to know why he hates Tanjiro. So hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_05I love the open eye for that.
SPEAKER_09But what you're not about to do is come in here and talk about my boo, okay? What is your booing?
SPEAKER_01He has black hair. What you talking about?
SPEAKER_09It don't matter.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it doesn't have the white baby.
SPEAKER_04The snake is white, the snake is white, Suchi.
SPEAKER_05Snake is white, and so was Orochimato's. What's good?
SPEAKER_08And they they ain't no pineapples with that one either.
unknownExactly.
SPEAKER_07Exactly.
SPEAKER_09But um, yeah, what's called nothing. Okay. He came in to Joel and let niggas know. Okay, y'all, y'all. Not a damn thing.
SPEAKER_01Let them know, not a damn thing.
SPEAKER_09You acting real weak right now, my boy. Bitch, I'm missing an eye and a hand.
SPEAKER_05My nigga rolled up. My nigga legit rolled up and was like, if you don't get your weak punk ass up, why you laying down like this? You went through all of this over one motherfucking upper low.
SPEAKER_01I'm just gonna let that let y'all finish.
SPEAKER_08No, no, that's not what he said. He said upper six, lower six.
SPEAKER_09Remember, he was like, uh, you can't even detect because he bottom six. That he is the six, though your boy was like, Okay, y'all, y'all fight the six nigga, and you tie it like this? The fuck?
SPEAKER_04Oh man, the fuck is he doing so? I'm a re I'm gonna remember that because it is only it is only acceptable for me to tell you.
SPEAKER_08I'm about to nut take shammy b's mouth over here. I'm like, I need you to shut up, but I hear you, you were not but this nigga better bring so much fucking heat.
SPEAKER_05I'm I remember this, but for for an upper six not to have died in a century, that nigga real loud, real loud, and I was thinking like you were a lot of bass in his boy survived and like dominated a fight, like you had to have been in the fight with one of these niggas, and they ran away, like yeah.
SPEAKER_04So I just I just need reasons. I need what were you doing because you it's a lot of bass in your voice.
SPEAKER_08That's all I so I look I look forward to him showing me that he just that he deserved to have that so like that that he vibes from you how to show like he was very he a about his conversation he was having, yes, very he a very much so.
SPEAKER_05But he ain't combat it up giving me more cool things, yes.
SPEAKER_08All right, so y'all about to wake Shammy B up because Shammy B said, Don't you dare compare that nigga to he a because he's thinking he knows the story, so he said don't you do that, like don't you do that?
SPEAKER_05He wasn't giving me a vibe, he was giving me ilumies old vibes, like okay.
SPEAKER_08He gives me he light, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_05He's giving me diet, he a but you know, like uh he he had a he was emotional. I'm I'm I said ilumi because ilumi didn't give a fuck. Yeah, open I didn't give a fuck when he was saying all the words to Tinger, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah, he had he had a but had a facade, yeah. Right, this nigga seemed heartless.
SPEAKER_08This backstory is very very sad, so that's why we don't want to hear no more because girl, you know for all of us, so I don't want to hear no more, girl. No backstory, nah. I don't say his backstory, I just said it was hard.
SPEAKER_09So speaking of backstory, like I wrote out in uh my on my whole I IG post about the character.
SPEAKER_05So speaking Speaking of backstory. Um, so I like the the kind of like little insight we got into the Hashira when um Tingin and Gyotaru finally like came toe to toe with one another and were talking. And oh yeah, Giltado was like, Oh, you're really attractive, oh this, oh that. And and Tingin was like, Oh, you don't you don't know anything about me. Like, I you don't you don't know what it means for me to be a Hashidah. I had to work really hard to get to this. Like, you don't dare people who became Hashida in like two months, and we're like, Oh, the missed Hashida was effortlessly be effortlessly became a Hashidah and it took him no time whatsoever. Like, and he was like, Don't don't be fooled by the rocks that I got.
SPEAKER_01You know what? I want you to know that.
SPEAKER_04You look at the video, you look at me finish the face.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god. Oh my god. Okay, all right.
SPEAKER_05Oh shit just an image of Tingan, don't be fooled by the rocks that I got on the back, it says I'm still Tingan from the block. I just need it. I need it if I will buy it.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no. Now, if it was like a slutty Tengin with like half naked and you got like you got wives titty and muscles everywhere, she might buy it. We'll see.
SPEAKER_08Maybe he has like a pink. I actually just did a sketch of Tengen, but it it wasn't it wasn't slutty, but oh I was like, uh Domo, what you been up to, sis.
SPEAKER_05All right, so uh just to wrap up. No, no, no, no. I I I did love that little insight that we got from that interaction about the rest of the Hashuda that I like that little like nugget of storytelling that we were able to glean into from them being in their conflict.
SPEAKER_01So just to wrap up the entire episode, uh, I want to like have every uh panelist kind of give their final synopsis of the entertainment district and then what they anticipate for the uh swordsmith village arc uh moving forward. Um and we will start with uh Miss Sayone cosplay.
SPEAKER_10Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_08Um the entertainment district, I would give it a 7 out of 10. Um I the fight scenes was amazing. The art, the art in fight scenes just keeps getting better and better each season. Um, I really appreciated the um character development, but I didn't actually get to say that Kengen is not is my my least favorite Hashi though. Um yeah, I had to keep that quiet, but it he is my least favorite. I liked his personality. His personality, my favorite, I don't have one. That's the funniest thing about it.
SPEAKER_05I actually don't have a feeling it's gonna be the stone Hashiro.
SPEAKER_08Um I don't have but you know what? I'm actually very, very curious about the the um leader with the blind eyes. Like I know he was a bad motherfucker back in the day, and I'm so curious to see a backstory on his power.
SPEAKER_05I have a theory Suji's brother or some shit like that.
SPEAKER_08Okay, but um I'll say that's a theory.
SPEAKER_04He said you fucked up the family name. He did say that.
SPEAKER_08Um, I loved, I loved um uh Ken Gen's personality. Um, he was like charming but annoying, but um I I wasn't a fan of his powers, actually. Um, so I'm actually curious to see Obeneye, uh, very much so. Um, but the the entertainment district, I would I'd give it a seven out of ten. Um I I wanted a little bit more, but you know, I'm very thankful for the panel to give me more insight about the world building. I actually never thought about it until you guys collectively were talking about it, and it makes all the sense in the world. But even still, I still give it a seven out of ten. Um, I am expecting a lot more fight scenes, like just very, very hardcore, even more so. I'm expecting um Tanjiro to master his breathing technique a little bit more without the nigga passing out, and uh, we're probably gonna see more of Nebucho um, you know, honing in to her abilities without sleeping for the entire day. So that's what I'm expecting.
SPEAKER_01Okay, excuse me. Um Dr. Quinzel.
SPEAKER_07Um I don't know how much you can say though.
SPEAKER_08Um for me, I enjoyed the entertainment district. Of course, this is my favorite Hashira next to the insect Hashira. Um, as far as moving forward into the seasons, I'm kind of like Saylon A. I expect to see more of what Nezco can do, Tanjiro to master his abilities. Um, also a lot of death, a lot of death on both sides, a lot of death. Um, I'm here for all those fights. So I'm just ready for that and you know, preparing myself for those scenes I I gotta get ready for.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Uh Kaze.
SPEAKER_04Um I am overall pretty pretty up on this. I think uh yeah, even even the aforementioned uh complaints, you know, I was I was I was only only so adamant because they they had drawn me in. Uh and so I was just thinking about everything that was happening, uh, even some things that uh, you know, maybe I thought about it more than they did. But uh uh no, I think I give everything overall uh uh an eight. Yeah, I think I'm um surprisingly up on uh uh I like Tangent a lot more than I thought I would. Uh I'm liking Tangero less. I'm kind of more just interested in his father at this point. Uh, I think I think I was looking for Tangero's uh kind of powers to advance. And uh I don't know, maybe in a way that was kind of more tied to how empathetic he is, but he's just kind of he he just kind of just seems to have the the shown in uh main character suite. Uh uh so yeah, less interested in him, but uh everything overall, yeah. Looking to forward to the future and meeting the next Hashra and uh see seeing where we go from there.
SPEAKER_01Sure. Uh the Black McCoy.
SPEAKER_05Um, I definitely give this season a solid eight out of ten. Um, I give it an eight out of ten, uh, largely because I don't disagree with Sayone and her the points that she raised earlier as far as the world building. I think that uh, and you know, some of the points that Shammy B brought up, I think that because the the narrative of this particular anime is extremely um plot, the the plot is driven very much by the characters and um and their kind of plights and the relationship that we only we don't get uh a full bird's eye view, at least not as of yet, into the overall uh world and relationship that you know they have to the demons rather than just the demon slayer corpse and the demons and the demons just kind of being in the world. Like I'm kind of interested in you know understanding like how no one else knows about this um and how the shit kind of keeps happening, especially given like the ramifications of what it might look like for the entertainment district from the entertainment district and all the shit happening. Because I mean, for all intents and purposes, most of the people there didn't know what the fuck was going on, um, and they were evacuated. And so no one I'm I'm I'm sure like maybe only a handful, if not maybe like one or two people, might be like, oh shit, there's a demon there. But um, as far as the next arc, I'm thoroughly, thoroughly excited to see what um our our short king Obanai has in store for the plot, um, and as well as for the rest of the characters, because I do not see him as someone who will be as gentle as Tingen was with the uh with our our our primary protagonists, and I'm very intrigued to see their growth um uh having experienced him in general. I'm also like Kaze ready seeds, the the the heat that he's that he's bringing because you talk some big shit at the end of this arc, and you don't talk big shit unless you got some big shit to show. You gotta back that talk up, baby.
SPEAKER_10Back it up, right?
SPEAKER_05Right, right. You don't listen, you you gotta back it up. I'm I'm ready to see him back it up, and uh you know, so that those are the things that um I'm really excited. I'm really genuinely excited for open eye because uh of all the Hashita, immediately he was the one I gravitated to, partly because I also have a pet snake. So whoop, but um yeah, yeah, yeah. No, um yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Open eye is my open eye is the thing I'm most excited for, and I'm most excited for how the story continues to foster um Tanjito's growth and his understanding of his back of his um family history. I also am very interested in seeing how um Obanai came up with uh snake breathing or the the snake breathing technique. Um, because one of the things that I love that we learned this season was that basically the other techniques are just extensions or combinations of different um the different elemental techniques and developing their own kind of style from that. And I think it's I think the implication is one is extremely impressive that there are Hashida who have like sound, like sound, uh snake love, and those and insects, like those techniques came from a uh not just uh an intimate enough understanding, but a mastery of the like combined aspects of different breathing techniques to formulate those unique techniques themselves. So I'm very interested to learn more about that as well, because I think that's an aspect of world building in you know that is relevant enough to the dip to the characters in the main storyline and just kind of like the history of the demon corpse and the people in it that will give us a better understanding of what we can expect moving forward, specifically from Tanjiro, since he learned that water breathing is good for him, but the I think it's just the the Hinokami uh breathing technique is also good uh uh ability that he can use, but he can't, but they're good for different things. So I'm very interested to see what kind of technique he might put together um by using both of them in tandem. So Skittles.
SPEAKER_09Um overall, I give this season, yeah. Probably same eight out of ten. Um I'm I'm looking forward to seeing our main protagonist um grow. Uh every every season, I'm that's what I'm looking forward to. Like, I'm I'm a character like development type person. Like that's what I look for when I'm watching an anime. Like, if you're the same shit, like the whole fucking anime, I I can't. But um, so yeah, I look for for the character development. I'm sorry, the character development of all the character, the main characters. Um I'm definitely excited to see Disney Koshier in action. Um and yeah, that's all I got.
SPEAKER_01Okay. And I myself, I would like to give the uh season an 8.7 out of 10. Um, I uh thoroughly enjoyed the fight scenes, uh, the humor, the investigative missions, uh moving throughout the different geisha uh houses, the um the interaction and the the interaction and the growth of uh uh Tengen throughout uh uh throughout the season, uh the arc rather. Um just just a building of all the different things. Uh excited to see, you know, of course, where everybody's abilities go. Um I'm I'm interested to see what happens to Zenitsu now that you know he may not have legs. I'm joking. Um, but uh just to see, you know, what exactly happens to him. Um and if his like, although obviously everybody's abilities kind of actually, I think only in those cases powers really didn't go up. He was just still using what he uses. He did show us some new aspects of his breathing techniques, but you know, nothing specifically was different. But we definitely saw you know, Nezuko and um and uh Tanjiro, you know, change, you know, turn a chapter and get stronger in terms of their capabilities. Um, so I'm excited to see that. And then, of course, for the Swordsman's uh Sword Swords Smith Village arc, um, I believe from the uh preview episode, trailer uh not episode, sorry, trailer, uh, you we saw the Love Hashira and the Mist Hashira uh moving into this next arc. So I'm excited to see how they're gonna use them. Um, of course, as everybody has said, you know, everybody's excited to see what Obanai is gonna do. But uh I do, I kind of want to see uh kind of what uh the Black McCormick was talking about about the offshoots. It reminds me of uh uh Avatar, the last airbender, and of course the legend of Korra, how you know metal bending is an offshoot of earth bending, so is lava bending, and then lightning, not necessarily bending, but you know, the use of lightning is through fire bending, so on and so forth. You know, it's it's how the different breathing styles are offshoots or uh um evolutions of uh the original uh uh breathing styles and then back to the sun breathing style. So it's it's I'm excited to see, you know, as we go on to learn more about everybody, how the different um uh how the different styles and how the different breathing techniques are going to be affected uh and shown and how they're gonna talk about the base level of each and every one of them. But uh that's it for everybody. That's it for the uh episode. I want to go ahead and wrap up and I'll give everybody the opportunity to see how they can be reached, uh, starting with uh Ms. Skittles.
