Welcome back to the Ballard Spectrum podcast. We are here today to celebrate the anniversary of one of the most amazing moments in all of time. And that is the anniversary of our villains episode.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I thought you were gonna say a birth because your birthday is coming up. That has nothing to do with this episode.
SPEAKER_01Nothing to do with this episode. Um everything to do with this episode. It doesn't because I'm currently not a villain, though there are times. But no, uh currently a lot of debatable, but uh but no, the anniversary of our villains episode, uh, one of the most uh downloaded, listened to, shared, talked about episodes in blurred spectrum history, uh, which is saying something because we we we we've been out this for a couple years now. Um, and uh uh it seems everybody loves them a villain, but there's some people who still hate on villains. And we have a couple that have been hated on that we we we we have some we have some gripes about. Not really gripes, it's more so we want to tell you about yourselves because you're wrong. And why are you wrong? Because these villains are actually amazing, and there's it's it's those memes, it's those videos that you see about these some of these villains that you're like, I didn't know that. Hmm, which is why this episode shall be titled Villains That Make You Go, hmm, is that right? Did it seriously? Okay, that's right. So before we start, I'm gonna, of course, introduce our panelists for today, uh, starting with uh the black McGoy. We have Dr. Quinzel of the Shampoo bracelets. We have uh the doctor, we have Kaze Shinryu, and then we have me Skittles.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, see, I gave you time there.
SPEAKER_01You know, I I knew you like the last time. See, I know villain, I give you time. Um, so you know, each of us has a uh a villain that we feel as though, you know, at first glance, whether it's in any of the aspects of media that they've been portrayed, that they have been missing, have been judged incorrectly. They have been viewed as someone who has wants nothing, nothing more than to destroy mankind, destroy a populace, destroy the tri-state area, you know, just destroy things. Uh, but you will see, as we, you know, for lack of better words, defend or advocate for said villains, that the reasons behind their actions are not as what they once seemed. So hopefully you will learn something by the end of this episode that's literally, you know, you can't judge a book by its cover. If you label them a villain, it doesn't mean they're a villain. If you label them a crook, it doesn't mean they're a crook. It just means that the system, I'm not going into that. Sorry. So uh so uh starting with uh the doctor, uh, I know you have a villain that uh most people know of, but uh I feel like you have some hidden gems that people may not know about your villain. So I'll let you go ahead first.
SPEAKER_02Uh definitely. So my villain I'm gonna be talking about is Dracula, and specifically Dracula from Castlevania. So have you ever played the Castlevania games? Which if you have not, then you need to. They are wonderful. Uh but you know, yes, they're fantastic games. But you know, you don't get a lot of characterization on Dracula. And Dracula is kind of a cartoony typical villain lot of the time. Just in which you don't really get to see much other than, oh, the castle appears, he's, you know, summoning demons, so forth. But the animated series on Netflix, which also, if you haven't watched that, please do. Um it's also wonderful, but it gives a lot more context that does align with the games pretty well, but it gives much more to his backstory and motivations, which I think really explain him in a way that makes them much less of this cartoony evil for evil sake villain, but really someone whose reasoning is very justifiable in many, many ways. So just to give a little bit of backstory. So Dracula, we learned, you know, he's for you know centuries has lived in Wallachia in this castle, uh, or outside of Walachia in this um his own castle, just kind of living on his own, um, not really fucking with people except for those who like try to rob the castle, storm the castle, and he leaves like their bodies out as warnings to others, not to, you know, do not rob this castle and whatnot. Um brutal, but you know, sending a message, okay, just don't fuck with me. But that's essentially the extent of what he does, at least in the beginning. Um, he gets a wife, Lisa, who he loves very much, uh, who is really good for society, like bringing medicine and science and whatnot. And Dracula has all this, you know, information on medicine knowledge and science and this huge library. So this would like really be good for society. And the villagers of Olekia uh decide well, she's this intelligent woman and she's adopter healing people, so she must be a witch. And you know, she just knows too much. So they arrest her, they murder her in cold blood, and they burn down the college that her and um Dracula have together. So this is what the villagers do. They've now like arrested and murdered his wife, and they've sent him, they've burned down his home, so they sent him running back to his castle. So that was like, okay, fuck humans. This is what they do. You know, I gotta trust them. Like now we are at war. And this is where a lot of this starts, where this whole, you know, oh, well, now we're gonna be like summoning these monsters and waging war because humanity is just, you know, they are this blight on, you know, the earth. And they're going to keep, you know, basically they're going to keep, you know, being a threat to us. And I think that's one of the things that gets lost in a lot of the discussions around like, you know, Dracula being a villain. Like, he's he's not wrong with that. Humanity is a genuine threat to him and his people. And sometimes, in some cases, for no reason other than, oh, well, you know, he's a scary little guy who lives in this castle on his own, like, let's go storm it with the torches and pitchforks and whatnot. And that's going to keep happening. And that's a recurring theme in not just the anime, but in a lot of the media around Castlevania. Like, they're going to keep fucking with him. So when he wages this war, and it is a war, you know, so it's not like there's no ambiguity about that. It is very clearly a war that's going on. Like they genuinely want to end and eliminate all vampires. So put that in any other context, you know, someone say, oh, well, we want to destroy your race. Like, of course, you're going to defend yourself. And, you know, and you know, certainly there's, I'm not going to shoot coat. Like, Dracula is brutal, like, very, very brutal. You know, but you know, I also I also firmly believe that if your boy throws the first punch, you don't get to tell someone how hard to hit you back. Like that is a very standing, you know, principle.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_02And also just to reinforce like the real issue and threaten that pretty the people of Willakia like are posing to Dracula. Um, so these people are awful. It's like the village is just they're fucking scumbags. It comes up over and over again. Like people go up every level. I mean, they'll go into mob mentality over nothing. You know, we're seeing like the wild corruption, like how many times, you know, Trevor and like his group, you know, who are the main protagonists, like, you know, how many just shit they have to deal with from villagers who, you know, either fucking with them or harassing them or attacking them with their bandits and whatnot. And like, this is such a common recurring thing. Like, murder is commonplace in these villages. So it's not like, oh, you know, drive bridge doesn't value human life. Like, no, they don't value human life either. Like, they they make people too, like, they're awful to each other. You know, probably the most standout is uh towards the end where they find out this um priest was leading the village with this secret pedophile was murdering kids. And it's pretty much heavily implied the village was covered up the whole time, you know. So everyone knew that this was going on, but it was just a secret from the outsiders. So these are not good people. I would not call them innocents, you know, like by any stretch of the imagination. So realistically, yeah, like it's not like some like something that Dracula is going to reason with on any level. And of course, he was well beyond the point of reasoning when they burn killed his wife and burned down his home. But I think it's to say, like, you know, is Dracula a villain? Yeah, absolutely. I will not sugarcoat that one bit. But Dracula is not a villain for no reason. Dracula's reasons are very understandable given the context, given his experiences, and all he had to deal with throughout this. So, you know, when we think about everything that comes after that, um, understand like he's not just evil for evil's sake. Like humanity did him 100% wrong. They were brutal and ruthless towards him, and he's retaliating in the best way he knows how, which is, you know, with a fucking sledgehammer. You know.
SPEAKER_04And it's not like he wasn't minded his business for the most part. He was jumping out.
SPEAKER_05That part, that is the part.
SPEAKER_04He was minded his business.
SPEAKER_02Like no, go ahead. Oh no, like just literally, he's was up in his own castle. He was like, hey, if you're not louding me, you know, whatnot, you know, I'm not gonna fuck with you. But then, like, of course, all that changes when, yeah, the village like murders his murders his wife. And they never had any regret for that either. That was the other thing.
SPEAKER_04No, it's not like they celebrated the shit. It was like, oh, yeah, it's the anniversary of the day we killed this woman.
SPEAKER_03I mean, he's a year to leave, right? And they threw a party.
SPEAKER_00The wildest respect. The wildest face.
SPEAKER_03You can't you kill this man's wife, and he shows up as a giant head, and it's like, regardless of respect or anything else, you this person obviously has power, and and you just gonna act, you just gonna pretend like he ain't. Why wouldn't he do something?
SPEAKER_04Right, what he asked them, he was like, Why did you kill my wife? Like he gave them a chance.
SPEAKER_06Not understanding something, so what's their automatic thing? Let's kill it.
SPEAKER_03I don't need Satan's help. He owes me big.
SPEAKER_08I don't need the patience there, bitch.
SPEAKER_03Everything by that show was really awful. I mean, I mean it it speaks volumes that everyone, everyone that saved them were also vilified by the same people. Uh like they treat the things that the things they did to Dracula's wife is exact is the exact the same way that they treated uh the Belmont's. After they did their job, they didn't clear that, they didn't clear cleared out most of the vampires, kept them from running everybody, and and got and got the vampires just kind of you know separated and in their own cast and kind of like, you know, okay, whatever. We ain't we ain't gonna fuck with y'all because y'all didn't raise the whole family and and and fuck and fuck us over. Right. But but uh but but after after they did their job, everybody was like, oh no, witchcraft. And I'm like, how did you think we killed the video? And then the gym and then the gypsies who was this who all is always racially minding their business. Yes. Y'all fuck with them too. And it was like, y'all, y'all must have called a thing.
SPEAKER_04Oh, you mean the speakers? I was like, what are you talking about?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, yeah, they weren't brown enough, but yeah, they pretty much.
SPEAKER_04But that was also the wildest part to me. Like, oh yeah, like these people who are here to help you. Yeah, let's go ahead and murder them.
SPEAKER_01They're they're the they're the reason everything is happening. I and not to defend them in any way, shape, or form, but don't forget the speakers were kind of like roaming knowledge. So, like, they were the ones watching, and they have records mentally of stories upon stories of everything that's happened, and they pass it down generation to generation. So, what's the one way that you can prevent the atrocities that you committed against uh several different types of people from being shared to the next generation? You either A, alter the information, or B, you destroy everything and everyone who has a record of it. So, because the speakers had that information, you gotta some people just feel like they gotta wash their hands of the situation and of all the records.
SPEAKER_04I love how you're thinking about that, but I'm I don't think they deserve that much credit. They that like I think that puts that that puts their reason their ability to use reason in this world that we've seen set up as like dominated by like Christian ideals so um in the most radical way.
SPEAKER_01So when I say the way they did it, it's less of they all had a unified idea that this is what's gonna work. I think one person came up with that concept and said, we need to eliminate this information. And it's just like uh the I always I don't know why I keep bringing this anime back up, but the sage with the weakest crest is like somebody, one of the it wasn't all the demons that knew that everybody was stronger or weaker, what have you. It was one demon that made that decision and said, let's change the information for the next hundreds of thousands of years. And that new information, now all the priests who know nothing, they know nothing of why this is happening, they just know vampire bad, God is good. And from there on everything else after that just kind of unfurls itself. So if you if you tell someone, if your great great great grandfather explained to your, you know, every generation that speakers are speak are spreading nothing but lies and fallacy, sorry, I'm not used that word around a certain panelist, uh, lies and deceit, then you're going to have to believe it because that's what the that's what the good book says. So if I've come across them, you know, spelling their word and their word it goes against what's in the book, then I'm going to have to silence them because that's what I've been taught.
SPEAKER_02You know, and it's actually interesting because it makes you think of this theme that comes up a lot with the we know the villagers and not just directly, but also with the speakers, how there's this opposition to knowledge in various ways. So when it comes to like the scientific knowledge, then like, oh, it's witchcraft and whatnot, and then the opposite of the speech is oh, then it's running heresy. And it's definitely a way in which, particularly the um church of that era, you know, has a big kind of chokehold on like really the village in general. So it does come up as like a recurrent theme.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no, no, I I definitely agree that the the concept of like just this adamant uh battle against like knowledge um and and like this kind of acting defense of like their religious beliefs or what have you in the show is a really strong theme. The only thing that I can't co-sign on is the idea that somehow there was like even if it was a singular person, um, because we only saw what we were only exposed to was this one village in that in the show where the speakers were villainized, and it was by the bishop, the same bishop who you know put Dracula's wife to death. And Castlevania being the kind of show that it is, like if that was the kind of reasoning that was happening, then that's something they would have shown shown us, or something they would have, you know, put in dialogue-wise. And so, like, I I I absolutely understand the thought process, and I don't think it's a it's an outlandish one. I just think that in reference to this particular instance, it doesn't really apply because of the way it was shown to us and what we are, what we were like set up to understand based on the world we were in, the characters we were dealing with, and uh not simply just like the ideological battles that was happen that were happening, but also just the the power struggle itself, because the bishop wasn't really concerned with keeping certain knowledge from being known. Well, he was concerned with keeping certain knowledge from being known, but not in terms of like, oh, like uh, you know, let's keep these atrocities from being seen, but he was much more concerned with the the justification of his actions and all of the decisions that he's made as being uh these these uh like vessels for the word or the will of God in a way. And that's what that's that's really my only like reason for like more so pushing back on that. It's only because like the character that we were given in the in that particular, I think, episode, episode and a half, two episodes, um, when they were there in that village, just don't add up to that. I think it's great theoretically, but like practically, as far as you know, what the show is what we get what we received, it doesn't really stick for me.
SPEAKER_01Okay. Um so did you have any other points about Dracula, the doctor?
SPEAKER_02No, I think that sums it up for me. You know, definitely a villain with very uh reasonable reasoning. And I like that.
SPEAKER_01So what say you panelist? Is Dracula purely a villain? Is is he a criminal? Is he a uh uh usurper, as some may call him? Uh or is he this uh individual who's minding his goddamn business and was treaded upon? Treaded upon, and he said, Don't tread on me, and he retaliated. You gotta say it. Yeah, do we?
SPEAKER_05It was it's the latter. The boy was minding his goddamn business. That's what happened. Justifiable homicide is and niggas and niggas got that work after so the work.
SPEAKER_01Well, thank you, Miss Kittles. Since you uh so vehemently uh stood up for Dracula, I'll allow you to go next. Uh, who was your actually I I actually am privy to know who your villain is, and uh this one is uh going from Dracula to this particular villain isn't much of a stretch, but it is a universal stretch. So who is your villain?
SPEAKER_05So my villain, my villain is none other than Thanos himself.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so I'm not the stats.
SPEAKER_05Talk about Thanos from the Marvel Cinematic uh Cinematic Universe, um, because in the comics his backstory is a bit different. Um so cinematic universe, Anos. Um so this man is uh considered what a genocidal maniac, like basically. Um but to caveat that, he has a good reason. Like I feel like his reason is is very logical. Um and it's also non-discriminatory.
SPEAKER_01That part.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so I I mean everybody, you know, everybody, and I think that's kind of we like I know I'm awake because uh shampoo braces hasn't gone yet, so I'm a I'm a wait. But so, anyways, back to what I'm talking about. Um, yeah, so everybody's like genocide is wrong, you know, da-da-da. But in this case, there, you know, we not you picking and choosing like specifically who we going ham on, like it's everybody, everybody, half, the whole half the population. Why? Why half the population? Because this man lived through it. So Thanos um is the son of some like royal family that from Titan, and Titan um was overpopulated planet, and Thanos made the same suggestion for their planet. So, because the the people were draining their resources um and the planet was dying, and this man said, Hey, we should just kill half everybody, you know, everybody, anybody, rich, poor, whoever, just kill half the people, and maybe the planet will survive. And them niggas was like, What? What? Banish. Goodbye, be gone. So your boy, um well now. Only did was he banished, but his planet fucking died. Everybody like the shit gone. So um, you know, your boy was like, you know what? I can't let this happen to you know other other places in the universe. Um, the universe, I'm gonna save the universe, I'm gonna save the motherfucking universe, and this is how genocide.
SPEAKER_01The breakdown realization of your word.
SPEAKER_05Um granted, um he so the way he went about uh this this journey. I'm trying to crusade the journey to get the infinity stones, and in order to collect the infinity stones, he got he had to he had to fuck up some shit and kill a few niggas. Um I mean that so lightly, like you know he's a little fly here, fly there. Yeah, yeah, you know, you know, uh kill the few, save the many type deal. Um the the black order, the black order went around, you know, murdering niggas, including as guardians and whoever else, um, to get these stones. And um uh like I feel like I feel like even though like a lot of people was killed, like overall, I feel like the purpose, like this man, he he even sat he even sacrificed his favorite daughter, who who was not even uh originally like blood, like adopted daughter. And he sacrificed somebody for for what he believed in. And I and even though like that's that's some wild shit, I feel like that man was really hurt.
SPEAKER_01But he he I mean he had to be that's the only way he was gonna get it.
SPEAKER_05Right. I feel like in his heart, in his head, this was all for a much greater purpose.
SPEAKER_01Like sacrifices must be made for the greater good, the greater good.
SPEAKER_05So so I I empathize with him because I feel like I mean it had purpose. Like you so he wasn't, I don't wanna I I feel like I feel like I wanna like compare him to like Killmonger in a way that I think Killmonger went about it the wrong way and Thanos went about it the wrong way, but it it it's not like like his political plan no, yeah, the way Thanos did it, there was there's no like he already tried the political way on his own fucking planet, and niggas was like, nah. So like what what other place are you gonna go to?
SPEAKER_04And I mean they tried it on Krypton too, didn't work out.
SPEAKER_05What?
SPEAKER_04They tried it on Krypton too, didn't work out.
SPEAKER_05Right, right. So and unfortunately, he just had that was that was just the method that had to be done in order to get the shit done. Um, so it it there's there was no possible way that he was gonna go around and niggas were gonna be like, yeah, absolutely, we can, you know, kill niggas, like kill half our. Um so I just think I think he did it in the best way he knew how to do it. And ultimately it was it was for the greater good. Of course, you know, we have superheroes in in the Marvel cinematic universe. So they wasn't about to let the shit go down. But I also feel like they didn't look at the bigger picture either. Um like there, I mean, shit, but there are there are countries right now, like real life, in real life, who who have to take you know precautions and have laws in place because their their countries are overpopulated and they're draining the resources of their continent. Um so in this case, like this this man trying to save a whole universe. Like shit, the pandemic is a perfect example of niggas not not willing to do some shit for other people. Like right, I don't put another mask to save anybody, like much less um, you know, be okay with um genocide. So um I don't I don't think I don't think is he fucked up? Yes. Um like I I feel like uh I feel like a a per a a person who who's got the hero complex would never would never think to sacrifice. They want to save everybody. So, you know, they want to save everyone and also, you know, like have your cake and eat it too type deal. And this man thinking thinking logically, like, okay, in order to do what I feel is right for our entire universe, I just gotta get the shit done because nobody's about to agree with me. Um and then he did it, but then niggas came back. So I'm sorry, so um, yeah, I I I empathize with Thanos. I feel like it was a hard decision to make, um, but in his head, somebody had to do it. So somebody had to do it.
SPEAKER_04If if it got down to the will to do it.
SPEAKER_05Right. If it got down to, you know, in in real life, if for for it makes you think about a lot of things morally. Like, if if if I had to choose, you know, my personal feelings over the greater good, like, what are you choosing? What exactly who would how do you do that? I feel like this man, he um he chose everybody over the personal shit, like his own daughter. So yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's it's interesting if you like think about that scene in um Endgame, I believe, where they found Thanos and he's like sitting there in his you know cottage um on this planet, and he's you know, I mean, I can't really say chilling because he only has one arm. He was high. He was I mean, was he hired? I feel like he knew it was gonna eventually happen. Like they were gonna retire. He retired, he retired.
SPEAKER_00He was he was chilling in his cottage, you know, in Jupiter, Florida, you know, just relaxing, better, Florida.
SPEAKER_01And it's like, you know, the his, I mean, if you want to call it his last moments, because obviously in that particular timeline it was, um, he he he kind of get he gave, he verbalized to the heroes that came to, you know, slaughter him, which is weird because it's like when you think about it now, after you know, the skills just said all of that, you're like they went all the way to this planet, all the way to find him. And you're like, well, what exactly was your endgame? Huh. Uh, what were you going there to do? I didn't I really didn't mean to do that, I promise you.
SPEAKER_07Um I'm so proud of you.
SPEAKER_01Oh, no, don't you think? Um what what was your goal? Because it's like, it's not like you were going to stop him from doing it. It had already happened. It was five years ago, you know, it happened, or four years. I forget how long the snap was. It was um five years. Was it five?
SPEAKER_04Okay, no, wait, wait, wait. It was five years, it had a five-year skip. I think it was five years after they killed him, but up until that point, it might have been relatively I don't know.
SPEAKER_05No, it was it was it was five years because um in in WandaVision, old girl's mom had died.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yep, yes, five, yep, you're right. Within the five years.
SPEAKER_05Um it was gone in the blip.
SPEAKER_01So yep, blip, that's what it is. Um uh so you know somebody white came up with that name. So I mean, you see, like he he gave his, I didn't do this for me. I lost the one thing that was most precious to me. I, you know, and they're like looking at him, and he, I mean, I'm not gonna say he looks decrepit, but he he looks like a shell of the Thanos, of Thanos who they met before. Like this huge this huge yeah, this huge fight that they had with him. He's not that person anymore. And you're sitting there, like, or standing there, you're like, wait, you're supposed to be like that. There's an expectation that he's supposed to be sitting on the throne, proud of his accomplishments. He was he was content. I don't know about completely about proud. I mean, y'all can you know correct me if I'm wrong, but he was definitely content because he knew what he had to do, he knew the sacrifices had to be made, and he made those decisions and said, Well, whoo.
SPEAKER_05I gave him my best shot. That's what I felt like. Yeah, and then he he gave my best shot, and I was defeated. And I mean, it is what it is now.
SPEAKER_04It was like that that old snapped his fingers and wiped out half of all life, and then uh he went and chilled. Yeah. And after while he was chilling, it was like, I mean, I just I just did what I needed to do and left. I I wasn't here to fight y'all.
SPEAKER_05Right, it wasn't it wasn't like I'm conquering, it wasn't though I need to conquer the world type shit. It was I'm trying to save the universe, the universe.
SPEAKER_01I'm thinking way bigger than y'all are, right? Like on some, like on some way above your pay grade way of thinking. And it it's it's interesting because like in that scene, I lost about 10 points off of my respect for um uh Thor. Because you missed your chance to originally do that. I remember thinking that and saying it out loud in the thing. It's like you missed your chance. Oh, now you want to aim for the neck. Oh, I you missed the chance before, and now you want to do it. And it's like you live, like you killed a. I mean, I'm granted it was still Thanos, but you killed a defenseless um nigga that was chilling. Yes, he quote unquote slaughtered half the universe, but he there what were you what do you stand to gain from doing what you did? But uh that actually you know, that's interesting. But I was about to say it goes into my character, but I'll let Miss Skittles finish if she has anything else else.
SPEAKER_05Hell, I mean, that that that's basically it. Um, he he sacrificed things that he loved dearly. Uh he only came to do this whole genocide at random um because of what his what he went through with his planet and his people, you know, pretty much gone. Like he's he was literally like the the few that survived. So um I I don't like I I I feel sorry for that, man. And like like you you came here and you was like, I'm trying to do this thing. Uh I know y'all not gonna understand, but I'm gonna do it anyway. And and then niggas came back and was like, Yeah, it was very it was very Caucasian of him.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, here's my love. Mr. Thanos. Um Th Thanos uh was uh uh uh th Thanos I think was smarter than his solution. I don't I I think I think I think uh it any any amount of you know thought or announce analysis, which you'll probably, you know, doesn't super you know belongs to uh a whole bunch in a a thing about a super villain anyway, but we here talk about it. So uh the the uh the you usually uh in in most in in most circumstances Ed uh and and uh an e an ecosystem sustains itself and in and the times and it and the and the things that make it stop sustaining itself is either the you know just something grand and random happening, like you know, like oh the climate's changing or the something's happened to that, you know, planet or the weather or blah blah blah. Or or or the species within that ecosystem starts doing something that throws something out of whack or or they or they get invaded by another species and that throws everything out of whack in XYZ. And and kind of and kind of the assumption here is that uh much much like humans, most sentient life everywhere, they are all misappropriating theirs according to Thanos, because we don't fucking know. True. We we did not do a global check and be it'd be like, hey, y'all, are we y'all running out of shit? What about you? Is everybody running out of shit? Like, we we ain't do that. Thanos had his planet, and then we just had to go go on his word that uh everybody was eventually running out of shit. Uh also the uh the the other reason the solution was was stupid was that uh to you know to borrow a term from uh from Dr. Strange and uh in the grand calculus of that of things, killing half of everything was nothing. 200 years ago, there was one billion humans on this planet. We we are we we we're like uh nearing eight now, I think. Killing killing things that could fucking reproduce as fast as we do. It's it is it is nothing for for someone who was trying to who who who did who did such a momentous thing and had such unfathomable power, it the the the the the the footprint of the of your solution would lasted like almost no time. Uh also um this is the and then and this is I guess this is one of the differences between the MCU and the comics, but like uh Thanos when Thanos got the had uh put the milestone in the gauntlet in the comics, it literally changed his perception because he because he because he got because he he he got linked, he got linked, his his mind was open and he suddenly gained cosmic awareness, and he and he suddenly he realized that he was thinking small because that's all he was capable of doing. And and so it was so I guess it was kind of uh I guess slightly, you know, in comparison, it was it was slightly disappointing that his thinking didn't evolve at any point, despite having, you know, the you know, the mind stone just didn't have that, that was just not something the mind stone did this time. So that was slightly uh disappointing. But also, like uh again, this is it, this was such a like a big thing. I I feel like there was lots of other things that you could have done that that also wouldn't have like like if if if you just didn't tell everybody that this is what you about to do, you could have you could have done you could have tried a whole bunch, you should, you could just got these rocks and just tried a whole bunch of things. And if you wasn't telling everybody that you're gonna wipe out half of all they shit, but no one part would have even known or even tried to stop you. Then it is it it is uh is this it was just so many like steps. I feel like he could have to, I feel like if he did, if he tried a whole bunch of shit with the because he could use the he could use the stones more than once. It's not like it's not like it was like genie.
SPEAKER_05But the problem was getting the stones because they were protected. So you can't just walk up and be like, hey, let me borrow this stone right quick.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but but part of the uh part of the reason why they were so protected is because he hit his message was ahead of him and he wanna wipe out half of everything. Yeah, yeah, he would have he would have had to fucked up those very particular people. Uh yeah, like yeah, yeah, Dr. Stranger would have had them get fucked up regardless. He was never gonna give that shit up. I I guess you know, I guess, I guess his uh he would have had to take advantage of his twisted relationship with Gabor regardless, because I don't know who else he even deigned to think he cared about. Um show as hell wouldn't have worked on Nebula. So um, but yeah, but but yeah, you know, it it was it was it was nice. It worked, it worked for the movie. Um, it was just it was just dumb. But it's cool, you know, people have dumb ideas sometimes.
SPEAKER_04Sorry, one of the things that I enjoyed about Thanos, um just as a villain who was I would I don't want to say misrepresented, but misunderstood in some way. Was that like his plan made sense? Um in like the grand, and I would say in a grand scheme sort of saying it did make sense. It wasn't a plan that was gonna traverse time, absolutely not. Like people were still things were still going to be re reproducing. But um one of the things that always stands out to me is like, well, you know, instead of wiping out all like half of everything, he could have just multiplied everything. And though, and and I want to say specifically, I don't think that that solution makes sense as a counterpoint. Um, and that's partly because you know when we as we've been talking about Thanos, like he he tried the political route, he tried the route you know of least resistance when it came to trying to you know enact this plan, get what get do the shit that needed to be done. And it even from a practical standpoint in our non-MCU like reality, um, we know that that doesn't work. Um and it kind of relates to Peacemaker, but if you haven't watched Peacemaker, I'm not gonna spoil that for you. But anyway, uh but we we we understand that there is a level of practicality that that the that his plan had that legitimately was viable. Like let's say for all intents and purposes he did like multiply everything. That would mean that he would expand the universe and basically he would well he'll expand, he would have expanded this universe in some way, shape, or form, right? Um and then after that, after he expanded the universe, then what everyone has more stuff? Is that the because that that that would be I think that is generally the idea that people think come along with that kind of counterpoint. But then it's like even if there is more stuff, what do you actually think is going to happen with all those extra resources that are around? They're going to be subject to the same issue that all the other resources that we have are coming up on now, and not even just the fact that um, you know, they would be used up or overused or whatever you whatever, but they would be hoarded. Those resources would be hoarded and they would be reserved for a specific class of people. And that is largely why Thanos did what he did. Because when it came to creating resources, when it came when it comes to um making uh when it came to having more for others, it was more so about taking uh it was it like it was it was very utilitarian. It was a sacrifice that kind of needed to be made because there was never going to be enough for everyone unless there was less everyone, if that makes sense.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but less everyone doesn't fix the uh the people, the the the the class of the half of the class of people that you left. No, no, it's brought in those leftover things exactly.
SPEAKER_04No, absolutely. I don't think it fixes it, but I understand how it would it it would at bare minimum like stave off some sort of I I yeah, I I agree.
SPEAKER_05I I don't of course I don't think it would it would have fixed it either, but it would would have brought the level of uh the I mean just the level of a cataclysmic event to like way down.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I mean it wasn't it wasn't cataclysmic on on Earth. You know, we I mean but it would say what the thing he was worried about was not about to happen. This this is this this is a thing that was like on a thousands of millennia of a timeline. So so you have to so you have to weigh the the shit he did uh versus how how how what it was what was bought. Like you literally have to like get try to we don't even have enough information to do the math, but look, but but like but like I said, like based based on our specific very short thing and and and and human you know and humans take longer to reproduce than most than uh a lot of life.
SPEAKER_04A lot of things like fuck, you know, fuck the you know, fuck like rabbits to just just regrow, like literally because it wasn't just half of all humans, it was legitimately half of all life. Like yeah, all the half of all the birds, all the squirrels and that's and that's another thing, half a life in.
SPEAKER_03and of itself is a resource. So you so you're fucking you you're fucking that like you're not extending the resource if you're ripening giant swaps of resource.
SPEAKER_01It was you know so I I I'm not I'm not I was not I would not a uh I agree the the you know doubling thing that would not have that wouldn't not have worked but I think there was uh I I think he had the time and power to figure some shit out true I mean you you serving up two pieces and a biscuit to the hulks I mean you can kind of do whatever you want I I think he could have like set up uh I I think I think more than a doubling I think the I think I think coming up with uh more renewable uh resources for people and then but and then you but it the and then you gotta figure out how to keep people from fucking over other people because again they what you did ain't got nothing to do with with people fucking over other people and so I was unless you just go around and police that which which will it's his own little set of issues I mean he did he did I feel like he did what one man could do he didn't need to short period of time he could have he could have not done that and I think it would make no point yeah no no no no dent in in in anything uh honestly I think his plan in end game after they pissed him off was a better plan yeah yes yeah matter of fact I think I think the fact that he revised uh immediately is speaks on the advocacy of his first player it's like you know what I was just doing my duty I was trying to help you bitches but you know what I'm just gonna wipe all the shit out and make it over you know what you were you are right because y'all are not y'all going to be mad about this forever for good reason I was like that um so uh yeah okay so as we can see there have been very uh uh not mixed messages but there have been uh a lot of things said about Thanos both in the comics of course in the uh MCU and it seems if not all but most of our panelists all have certain feelings uh positive feelings actually towards uh the thought process of Thanos just the execution may have been um done a little bit differently I believe each of us have said in some way shape or form is that true yes no maybe so okay all right so uh uh but so I as I was saying so I I wanted to go uh after Miss Skittles because you know what my character has done is um pretty much what uh Thanos uh tried to do in the MSU or I guess accomplished uh which eventually got reverse so on and so forth anyway um but what my character does has done is is is a continuous job so it's kind of you know going back towards what uh Kaze and um the the the the black McCoy were saying about you know doing it once you know after a couple of hundreds or even a couple decades even a couple years uh that will all be reversed but my character actually continuously does it sometimes even under the radar where nobody even knows you know a little sprinkle here which you know um Miss Skittle's comparison uh to our current pandemic uh kind of uh helps me out so my character is the one and the only Raish Alghul uh you may know him from uh the uh either the well from DC comics obviously but uh specifically from any of the Batman stories uh whether it's the animated series or comic book did you have something you wanted to say Kazai Oh okay it looks like you want to say something sorry uh yes uh or from the um uh animated series or any iteration of Batman that he was also part of Justice League uh uh young justice so on and so forth um without going into too much detail about Raisha ghoul he's he's amazing he's this fantastic individual uh Raishao Ghoul is um as it pertains to Earth probably one of the most skilled and understanding individuals uh I would say the only person in the DC universe that might even rival his longevity and his understanding about uh uh just how things should work would probably be close to black adam but the only difference is black adam only cares about him and his kingdom so but Ray Sha Gul generally cares about the entire planet and his thought process is just like Thanos where it's to trim the fat it's to eliminate populations genocide pretty much uh but his is uh ecological devastation uh by way of genocide uh similar to a plague or to a pandemic um he's done many of them uh actually raisha ghoul has been alive several hundred years um if you look at a lot of the different comics they'll say he's anywhere between 400 to 600 years old um and I'm sure one of the key things if you know anything about Raisha Gul is the Lazarus pit uh which is you know how he maintains his youthful existence. Um but the purpose of the Lazarus pit is primarily to uh revitalize it brings the the person who you know takes a nice little dip in the hot tub uh back to their their their body's prime uh so it you know gives Raish the ability to continue on uh with his plans of uh lack of better words trimming the fat actually it's interesting because I when I was doing my research for Raish I was thinking about what is the appropriate way to think about what he does when he does these kind of pandemics, these uh ecological devastations and the proper word technically is the word pruning. And then I was like wait why have I heard that word recently and then I thought about Loki and also about um uh an anime one of the animes I watch which is um uh I forget I think it's the hero who's been called into a new world and and saves a kingdom I forget the exact term word uh name of the anime but he he talk also talks about pruning but he talks about pruning in the in the context of trees which is kind of one of the base uh uh uses of that word and pruning when it pertains to trees is uh shaping the trees in a specific way to produce growth to reduce dead branches and dead uh lumber uh or and to specifically uh uh produce uh stronger lumber for either cutting down for materials um in the anime it it it was about uh pruning a forest helped to produce proper soil uh for the because the trees are healthier though cause the stroll to be stronger and cause the forest to prevent landslides and um any type of death by you know any villages in the nearby area so going back of course to Raishao Ghoul he's pruning the populations of the world kind of going back to what Kaze and the Black McCoy said about the fact that you know let's say we had a billion people and now we have 5.7, 8.3 billion people well if a pandemic or if a uh a plague takes place and we lose 500 million now granted in the grand scheme of things we still have several billion people on the planet but if it continuously does it and it slowly starts to quote unquote trim the fat it does allow the planet to you know regain some of its youthfulness like if you think about when the pandemic took place just two years ago we was off the streets wasn't nobody outside animals started coming back I was like watching Bambi from my window it was like animals from the end of the winds after they killed Evelyn oh yes perfect like the clouds were the clouds were clouding the animals were animal in the bell waves were ozone improved a little bit it was it the ozone improved like they said the first time in decades the ozone actually started to repair itself because niggas was inside the house like across the planet like literally the entire world sat its ass inside the house and the planet began to rejuvenate by itself because that's all it needs. So it's like the thought process is if you can reduce the amount of people who are on the streets fucking it up, then the planet can actually rejuvenate itself. So you know not to dive back into Thanos's plan but you know Thanos was trying to eliminate half of everything. So the idea would be half of everything would it wouldn't be for a long period of time I agree. Eventually the people will come back because things are going to rejuvenate uh uh repopulate which kind of goes into uh uh Dr. Quinzel's uh character but I'm again like Miss Gills I ain't touching that we'll let her start that um but you know with Ray Shaqul's plan it's you know it it it's not a one time no offense snap it's a continuous for the centuries plan to continually trim the fat and prune the population of the like like I said Thanos is completely different Thanos is thinking on a cotton not cosmic universal level raysha ghoul is only worried about the planet he's on now I'm sure there have been some offshoot comics where he's gone to other planets but we ain't talking about that right now talking about the planet that he's on and where he wants to trim the fat and prune it to make it the planet rejuvenate itself. Now granted very similar to a lot of the villains it was a traumatic situation that took place when he was a young uh younger than he is now obviously uh where you know he had the love of his life be killed by an ain't shit prince after he saved said prince's life and he was like well fuck this shit oh actually that's very close to dragon he's like fuck this shit everybody needs to go uh so he went back to his village uh told his village yo we gotta we gotta murk these niggas and they completely eradicated the entire kingdom the prince the king and everybody else raised it to the ground and that's when he actually adopted uh uh the name uh head of demon is when he was like we doing this um now of course over the over the centuries he's you know mellowed out a little bit you know he's a lot more focused on you know it's actually it reminds me of um I'm gonna say his name wrong Shangqi's father uh who had the 10 rings how you know over you know time I mean don't say a millennia but oh you know over the centuries just living out his days uh uh accumulating wealth creating this background organization um and just you know being behind the scenes of proper things as he would say happening in the world certain people being needing to be removed certain people needing to be kept alive populations being reduced things like that now of course the only person well the main person because he has interacted with several uh superheroes but the main person as I said before who interacts with Ray Shia Gul is Batman and um he at at numerous occasions has tried or I would say he's he has stopped a section uh-huh a section of Ray Shao Gul's plan but in reality rais always has stuff going on in the background like I I'll entertain you this plan right here on this island but I already got five other islands that have already been nuked pruned and done and by the time you figure it out you can't do anything about it. Matter of fact let me send my daughter over there she'll entertain you for a little bit while I'm handling some other stuff. And you know it's for the latter well not latter the the Batman and Raisha gul era my favorite aspect of Raisha ghoul's you know um existence is his ability to teach Batman lessons like kind of like the same lessons you see Batman learn in the movies uh you know Dark Knight the Batman so on and so forth where villain like specifically like the Joker will give him a choice and you know kind of teach him a lesson about humanity. Like one of Raisha Gul's best lessons was when he let out every villain in Arkham and not only did he let out every villain he gave them specific specific and strategic instructions and and and missions to go and fuck with individuals in Batman's or specifically Bruce Wayne's life and have him go and figure shit out. And this was not only to prove to Batman that he can't do anything everything not anything but everything but also to explain to him the fact that he feels as though he shouldn't kill these people that he should keep them alive and they'll be what's that word where you go to jail and you're supposed to become anybody rehabilitated thank you become rehabilitated is is a fool's errand is is what he one of the things he said many times before is like it's like nigga more people are going to die than the 200 people you have locked up in Arkham I remember playing Arkham uh uh Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight and I'm like I spent an entire technically it was a night in Arkham City and there are so many just criminals just wanted streets and I ain't killed not one of them I I I I Spider-Man more people up to the wall uh using Batman zipline than I actually beat anybody down. Like the only person who died in that thing was Joker and Batman cried over it. Well he didn't cry but you know what I mean he was upset um and it's like racist pretty much is like you're you're you're doing this all wrong you it's genocide you just have to do the genocide it's very easy just let it on out there reel it back in and everybody's got the coachy um so yes rayshaw ghoul although people don't like the the the concept of genocide um if you don't know that it was genocide if you don't know who did it you'll just call it a pandemic and you'll be perfectly fine with the fat being pruned or catapult event and that's the that's the genius of that because because the only person who will figure it out is Batman and then he'll tell you know all the other you know superheroes because they ain't figured that shit out because that because the thing is not that nobody knows about raisul but Batman always has raisul in the corner of his mind like is this rais all over it's got check my race cams let me let me go let me check where he at he's in the pool I don't like it he cares if he's sitting in that pit the race meter like I was like where your daddy yeah put him in the phone Danny where's your grandfather I know he's home I can hear him back there well it it's it's it's it's for for well I'm not gonna say for me well no I will I will say for me um the idea of like if you give somebody if you give heroes a target then they'll call it genocide if you give heroes no target they'll call it a pandemic that they need to find a cure for and try to fix everything. So if you want to fix everything then let's go ahead and fix it calm it down cool it out and everything is cool but at the end of the day did the planet not rejuvenate itself did it not come back to life even an iota granted within probably a year niggas fucked it up again but did it not try its best to come back mother mother nature is a scary woman Magaya spirit of the earth she'll she'll tear it asunder but you leave her alone her hair did she'll you know get her nails and her her nanny her not say her nanny her manny her petty you know for her nail I thought he said poo nanny okay wait a minute yes but uh yes you know she'll get herself together all she because she's spending every waking moment fixing our issues if you give her a moment to herself we shoot we gave her six months you saw how she she snatched herself right back to Captain Frank only in Charlotte she was doing it that's all she needs and that's what race provides it gives mother nature some time just saying I rest the doors of the church are open you said it sounds like a what I missed I said that sounds like a true mother that's fucking tired decades or centuries me time I I've always deeply uh appreciated uh Raish I used to just just the fact that that that like that Bruce would like run up on him and and if if long as wasn't no one dying immediately they always had a fantastic conversation yes just father in law the son in law they were just chopping it up yeah I mean and you know I mean well this I mean this this was like before then because they've they've always like appreciated Bruce would never say out loud nope that he appreciates Raish.
SPEAKER_03Nope um he can't even he will he will barely say out loud that he appreciates Superman what you be most of those conversations I had in private like private private and even then he'll tell you he'll give you Alfred always grateful for Alfred but uh but no but race but racial like yeah multiple times be like oh no yeah the detective oh yeah no fantastic uh I appreciate him uh he's a he's a man man of means he's intelligent but um we disagree on some some more pivotal things but like but generally he's all right yeah and uh you know and and again and uh and I guess uh on the I guess the opposite side of the coin to my you know previous issues with the last person is most uh most problems cannot be uh snapped away so so I I deeply appreciate uh racist uh you know nuanced and repay like like you know prun pruning was a beautiful was a beautiful word is a beautiful way to put it I am I am I am going I'm I'm in putting this effect to to uh to get this precise result and and I am doing it and I'm doing it over a prolonged matter of fact I I'm I prolong my life yep specifically so I can achieve this over this course and it's hilarious that soon as soon as Batman dies who's fucking with him right man's back in the Lazarus pit I would see Rage doing that like let me go no no no no wait wait wait Batman dies Amanda Waller picks up the phone tally daddy I know he back there open the pit open the door what Batman's oh shit let me let me go daddy's died um yeah nope aside from uh aside from the uh incredibly high likelihood that I I'm I'm just as likely to be pruned as anybody else I ain't got nothing against raish I'm saying me and him cool just like you said with Thanos anybody can get it there's no discrimination he doesn't drop a bomb in one place it's worldwide anybody can get these things um anybody else have any uh points on raish well one of my one of my favorite raish uh moments was uh him and uh him him and uh joke uh him and Joker was meeting and uh and the Joker like came in and like said something you know he like made a joke or something because he's a fucking joker but he made a joke or something about rage and uh and you know and one of and one of raish's uh little side uh no no no I got I got backwards uh joker had his thugs with him and uh and uh and one of the jokers like uh the thugs like said some like snide shit and uh and race beheaded him like complete this instantaneously and and and he he was and he was like I can he's like I can I can deal with a lot of shit but it's but rude rude I can't I can't deal with rude people I can and jokers like me either so so back I love it back then we came to talk about and you know and that not neither one of them blinked and I was like see see don't don't see civility it's like what it's like Isaac said in Castlevania just motherfuckers just so fucking rude like perfect same scene and it and and and you know and the real problem ain't in like being rude is it know who you fuck you talking to.
SPEAKER_01Right it's that part you know who your boss is you know how you know the kind of people he consorts with why would you ever the total you can't afford fuck around and get fucked fuck around and find out if if I like if being a henchman is the simplest job it is follow directions and shut the fuck up and shut the fuck up you didn't see nothing you if Batman catches you shut the hell up just that's it's all you gotta do.
SPEAKER_04It's like that one scene it was like that those two henchmen were going around and then one opened the door and he saw Batman and he just walked away and closed the door guess this is I love that scene he's like what what was in there?
SPEAKER_01Nothing. Nothing gap it poppin' like I don't know if it was a fan fiction or somebody's story and they were talking about how henchmen make like uh anywhere between 70 to 1600 and you know they get benefits and all those types of things and all they have to do is you know potentially get beat up by Batman but you know you'll get healed or you'll get you know proper benefits you'll get you know be uh um you can retire early if you get too beat up by Batman but that's all you got to do.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah no I think I think in DC that is like legit a mechanic where like there's like not like a union but it's like uh there like there is a place for people to get their henchmen. Henchman RS is real
SPEAKER_01But uh all right. So if nobody else has any other qualms or questions or points, did you have one, the doctor, about Raish?
SPEAKER_02Uh no, it's interesting. So, you know, I was familiar with Rachel Go just. I know about the lies was pit and whatnot, but I really didn't know that he works through pandemics and like secret disasters and such. So that's really interesting. Like, I definitely want to look more into this now.
SPEAKER_04Like nobody got time to be trying to run out here and kill people all the time. We got we gotta we gotta work smarter.
SPEAKER_01We're not harder. Like his main thing is he wants to save the earth from ecological devastation by the hands of the population, and he knows he has a dystopia that he wants to create, and he knows he's just gonna have to continuously work at it. It's not a one-time fix-all thing, it just keep all moving. That's it. So uh, well, I think it's time. I think uh it we have to finally hand it over to uh Dr. Quinzel. I believe everybody here is definitely gonna have something to add to her character, uh her villain. Um, I mean, we we we just recently called him a villain, to be honest.
SPEAKER_05Um that's why I didn't even consider like true.
SPEAKER_06The fact that I will say he's the only one that can be dual. You know what I'm saying? Because we might have a redeeming quality at the end of this, we don't know yet.
SPEAKER_01We don't. So I will let you uh go ahead and take it, uh, Dr. Quinzel.
SPEAKER_06All right, so my newly found villain right now is Aaron Yeager from uh Attack on Titan.
SPEAKER_04Is he a villain though?
SPEAKER_05Hold on, we're gonna get there.
SPEAKER_00I can join the journey.
SPEAKER_05I am a Jagrist. I just want y'all too. I am okay. Let's take a journey first, okay?
SPEAKER_06I'm not gonna go too in depth because I know we're gonna have an AOT episode, so I'm just gonna like skim over a couple parts, okay? So, you know, when we were first introduced to Aaron and Crew, which is Mikasa and Armin, they were little kids enjoying life on the island, right? So um, you know, Aaron was always hard-headed, strong-willed, and very impulsive. Okay, so one day the wall got kicked in and he witnessed his mother being eaten by a titan. Okay, that's what started it all.
SPEAKER_01I said pineapple, sorry.
SPEAKER_05Oh Lord, what it's not my fault.
SPEAKER_00You said it.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god, all right, anywho, which led him to join the corpse to fighting titans.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'm sorry to find out I'm sorry, I just so spoiler alert. If you are not caught up with attack on Titan, she's about to hurt your feelings. Continue.
SPEAKER_06If you are not caught up with a title on Titan, I need you to stop sleeping up under a rock. All right, anywho, um, and then later found out that he was a titan, which led him to help the corpse pretty much in winning the battles against the other titans. Fast forward, they give keys to the basement, they unlock the basement, and now Aaron knows the truth. I'll fast forward a little bit more because y'all should have already solved all this.
SPEAKER_04Now I will show you the truth.
SPEAKER_06Right. So now, present day, we're gonna skip. Um, Aaron has led a coup, and his goal and his mission is to kill anyone that is not on his home island because they are all a threat. They want to annihilate them because they feel like they are savages pretty much, and that they should not exist. Um, Aaron said, the hell with that. I'm waking up everybody. So he is now taking on the founder. He has been plotting this apparently for years from all the flashbacks. He has sent everything in most to the point where, yes, and technically decades, where he grinded his own father and could not see the future. He doesn't even know whether his own wife how she died, actually. He left his brother in the sands of time, pretty much, with the fountain.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, sands of time. Wait a minute. Because that that scene, beautiful. We was like, that ain't right. It ain't fair, it ain't right.
SPEAKER_06Just saying, oh, this hand you think you got locked. Oh no, oh no, bro. I got this. I got this.
SPEAKER_04Aaron rolled up to the founder, rolled up to Emir.
SPEAKER_08Baby, what you won't do? I got it, I got it. Ain't nobody ever asked you that, huh? All right, ain't nobody loves you.
SPEAKER_00You can have whatever you like.
SPEAKER_06So Your Mirror, after years, decades, centuries of torture and holding on to that pain, now feels that Aaron can help her rectify everything she's been feeling. Because that king just wanted her to just just be his slave internally, yeah, telling her to get up. Okay, we're gonna add that, we're gonna we're gonna pull a little bit for you, Mir, because I felt bad for her. She had to be alive and get eaten by her children, okay?
SPEAKER_03I was so confused by that. So when when Zeke was first first like in there and they and they had him talking to her, and I'm like, why is he talking to her like that? Right. And I was like, Oh, oh no, oh no, fucking uh Aaron Bobby.
SPEAKER_06Well, see, Zeke caused his own demise also because the way he was talking to her actually made her get set off. She was just home about it. Uh yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he he went in there on on that same shit that same shit. I suppose I am royal blood type shit.
SPEAKER_01I'm like stupid as hell. Like, I don't understand how you like why why why would you think that she would listen to you? Like, I get it, like that's what that's how that's the settings that she currently has, but like that's not how you talk to people. It's not right.
SPEAKER_06So wait, he put his privilege talk for him. That's what it got fucked up.
SPEAKER_05And blonde hair, brown eyed privilege he didn't take into account, he didn't take into account that Aaron was was already doing his own thing, and that's where he fucked up.
SPEAKER_01Because his plan was basic, and he didn't know Aaron was a master, uh uh architect.
SPEAKER_04Master manipulator, but you know, he he didn't know he he underestimated how far rage can take somebody.
SPEAKER_06Thank you. So now we are taking a journey across the islands.
SPEAKER_03Wait, wait, hold on, hold on. Uh Kazay has something to say. Hold up.
SPEAKER_06Oh, good.
SPEAKER_03Uh uh, I was just gonna say, oh, all always be always be careful uh about talking to people. Uh not just talking to people in general, but especially talking to people who can do something that you can't do, right? You you call them the help, well, but it's not they're they're not the help, they're the do it, they're the doer, they're the doers, they are they are they are the facilitators.
SPEAKER_01They are that always confused me. I'm like, you got all these people doing all these things for you, you don't even know how to do it yourself. Yeah, you have the audacity, yeah, right, the unmitigated gall to like make fun of them, insult them, talk bad about them, not even behind their backs, to their faces. I'm like, not even smiling in your face.
SPEAKER_05That's why I don't people in food services. Exactly.
SPEAKER_01Man, I've never sent my nail thing back. I just uh I don't play with that. No, I I will I'll take it home and throw it away later, but I I ain't I ain't finished I ain't sending it back because it's gonna come back again with something I ain't ready for. Nope.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna send it back. It's fine. You just gotta not be a dick. It's yeah, yeah, no, you gotta have a smile like hey, hey, it's not what I paid for. Who having a bad day? Yeah, now now don't don't don't send it back twice.
SPEAKER_06You asking for some shit to be in your food, yeah.
SPEAKER_03But that point, like, hey, let me let me let me get that refund.
SPEAKER_01Okay, let me let me let me down to you for a second. But go ahead, uh Dr. Quintell.
SPEAKER_06Uh oh, I mean, I mean, we had the point where we're waiting to see what happens with Aaron at this point because he then took the wall titans and he's crossing over to go to the other island.
SPEAKER_04All the wall, like all the walls, all the walls. We're sitting there watching these episodes, and when I tell you, I was like, are there still titans walking? I was like, the doctor kept asking like three episodes later, why are they still? I was like, I was like, Yeah, but I but it was that conversation where he was like, You you gravely underestimated the size of these walls. Hell yeah, I did. How big this place was.
SPEAKER_05That's why that's why. Um, oh boy, and Mikasa was well, he Ermin was really like, wait, did he take down all of the all the walls? Only needed one.
SPEAKER_06He needed all of the walls.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06You only needed one. Now talk about somebody trying to create genocide, okay? Because he's trying to take out everybody that's not on his home island. Everyone's enough.
SPEAKER_04I am ready for the east side stomp memes that are gonna be goddamn show.
SPEAKER_05This is what I was see, this is what I was alluding to with Thanos. Like, I'm not opposed to I'm so everybody's like feeling like everybody I've talked to about these these recent episodes are feeling like you know, morally like, oh, they're right, it's genocide. And then I mean, and we heard we heard uh with I don't know how to pronounce her name. I always say long hinge. I think but yeah, so she she straight up says it's genocide, it's wrong, blah blah blah. But at the same time, I'm like, bruh. That's what everybody was aiming for with you, right? Yes, like literally, literally, and and now you know all of a sudden it it's it's wrong, and everybody wanna help out, you know, we're gonna come together on a Jesus moment, but bitch, you was literally trying to do that shit to us, like so.
SPEAKER_01Not even a day ago, not even a day ago.
SPEAKER_06Like, I don't understand.
SPEAKER_05Like, literally, my man got the fauna titan, and then yesterday you was trying to kill all everybody on this fucking island. Like, you literally came over here to give me on a movie.
SPEAKER_06I I I took down one one little port on your island. You bought the whole fleet. Like, what is it? Yeah, and you took out Sasha. Let's not forget about Sasha. You took her out. Gabby should have been dead. Right. Gabby should have been dead two times over.
SPEAKER_01Boom, and then when she shot Aaron, I was like, Oh, and you you could not console the black McCoy. I was like, they were like, wait a minute, you took out you took out and then you shot Aaron in the head. Wait a minute.
SPEAKER_08I had to pause the anime because I was so cybergasted, my mouth was open. I said, Did this nigga head just fight?
SPEAKER_07Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_08I said somebody get her because the way somebody but that one moment you were like, Mikasa, where were you?
SPEAKER_06Okay, you always by his side. Where was you at?
SPEAKER_01No, don't do that. Don't do that to Mikasa. Mikasa was Mikasa. You saw when they did the little slowdown scene, Mikasa was fighting the car Titan, but then she heard the gunshot. All you saw was her eye looked downward, like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_06Like she was supposed to be there. That's why she looked at that. Don't do that to her.
SPEAKER_04Don't do that to her. She would have been there. She would have it was given low-key like I look away for five minutes.
SPEAKER_07Exactly, exactly.
SPEAKER_06I look away for five minutes.
SPEAKER_04My eyes off your ass for five fucking minutes.
SPEAKER_08And you get shot by the same little girl.
SPEAKER_05So back back to what I was saying about the genocide. This is completely indiscriminatory. Everybody's getting that heat. And and I and that's why I'm not you know so sad about it. I mean, yes, it sucks because there's like women and children and people who you know have not have nothing, know nothing, you know, whatever. But but we're about to stop this generational madness because you have you have the the fucked up shit that been going on, this the systematic shit that's been going on for generations and reaches people, young people like Gabby's bitch ass, and who who going hard for the like OD hard for the shit and don't know nothing about nothing.
SPEAKER_06She does some DMX I ride for my niggas. Right, right, right.
SPEAKER_00Um meanwhile, you killing your own niggas. That's all niggas.
SPEAKER_08Right.
SPEAKER_00She could have been your cousin, you don't even know.
SPEAKER_05Exactly.
SPEAKER_00Y'all are all related.
SPEAKER_05Um but I'm I'm for I'm with the shits, okay. It's undiscriminatory. Niggas getting they gonna tell. Look, you've been fucking with us for my whole entire life, and I didn't even know it, but now I know something for you.
SPEAKER_04And you know what? Just to add on something, like wait, wait, hold on. The black one quick. Kazi was about this.
SPEAKER_06I was about to say he was moistening his lips.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04But it's like we know it's genocide, and we know genocide is bad, but there's also like it's like I don't want to think that Aaron doesn't have some like actual valid reasons or like in his own logic and why he's doing this. And I think about like if we look at the literal world that Attack on Titan has given us, and we look at our own world, right? Like, in there is nothing that Aaron could have done outside of what he's doing now that would have that would guarantee the level of safety and security that he wants for everyone he cares about on that island. Sure. They'll come back, they will be able to do that. They'll come back, and they like that is that they always come back, and it's like, oh, because even Armin's like, oh yeah, you know, he's gonna go take care of Marley, and then you know, they'll stop fucking with us, and everybody else is doing for Sloan. No, that's not how war works. That's not how that that is literally what happened in Castlevania with your shit in Castlevania. You fucking with something that was minding its business. Yep. That's a powerful thing. It's like you're it's like you want to they want to say they oh their their their existence is offensive in and of itself, and so they just want to wipe them out, take the titans and wipe them out and keep a certain number to themselves. They want to be Carmilla, they want to keep a certain number to themselves so that they can have some power. But like, no, no, that that's not gonna work because then we're still subjugated. It's like, you know what? I'm just gonna go ahead and take care of the people who are fucking with us, and I'm also gonna take care of the people who are gonna be scared of us because I took out the people who are fucking with us, because they're in they're not gonna do anything else but come after us in the same way that these other niggas did. Yep.
SPEAKER_06And I feel like that's his mindset, right?
SPEAKER_04And so, what do I need to do? I need to get rid of all of them so I can so I can guarantee it's fun. Sorry, I can I'm looking out my window, I can see Andrew like across the way. Um but um, yeah, no, like, so what do I need to do? I need to kill all of them so that we can continue to live. And sure, it's like old girl said, the world will just be smaller. Yeah, it will be smaller, but we'll be safe.
SPEAKER_06Yep, and we'll be able to live in peace.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06Like it seems like everyone that has come over there now that they've met the the savages, quote unquote, um, see a different light in the air of their ways, but you could have done that years ago without sending your uh what was it, the armored titan over to kick a wall, right? And then that caused all the devastation to all of these events that have now occurred, right?
SPEAKER_01So Reiner's still alive.
SPEAKER_06Reiner needs P some therapy. He got PTSD.
SPEAKER_01I don't know, I don't know if that's just PTSD. That's a lot of things. PTSD, bipolar, schizophrenic. There's a lot of stuff going on in there.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he he got a lot, okay. Um would be smaller, they can procreate and create a new narrative.
SPEAKER_06Because his brother's plan was stupid too. So you just want to cut a whole lineage, right?
SPEAKER_04You know, I was about to start.
SPEAKER_01Let's let's let's let's let's castrate everyone, like I was I was gonna I was gonna talk about that in relation to like what the what Kaze said earlier, uh, because I was talking about you know Rachel Gul's plan and how it's you know a continuation, and we were talking about how Thanos, you know, the snap, but eventually people are gonna repro uh reproduce. So I was gonna actually ask Kazi once we got to this conversation do you feel like if Thanos' idea was to prevent either not everybody to stop reproducing, but like a a like you said, a restart. Would that have been a proper way of handling it?
SPEAKER_05After population get neuter, not after that. Hey, now look, instead of killing niggas, just just oh, so you're about to bob barb and have the have the half the universe.
SPEAKER_06Honestly, you really could just take it away from the men because at some point women can't reproduce anyway. It's y'all out here.
SPEAKER_07Hey, hey, hold on, hold on.
SPEAKER_06We're gonna we're gonna you you open this can of worms, so I'm gonna expand on it, right?
SPEAKER_00It's y'all out here like it don't know your audience.
SPEAKER_06Let's be clear. The one and you would take that into present day. It's funny always to me how these little crunchy ass white men always trying to control somebody's birth control and and abortions and all this stuff. I could smell the exact oh god, y'all be the ones that can still be.
SPEAKER_04The doctor knows that's the whole memory go across the face.
SPEAKER_06Like, look how old Stevie Wonder is. Yeah, but we the problem. Bitch, when menopause come and knock it, that's it. It's a rock, right? Like, come on, be mm-mm, don't do that. Don't do that. So, yeah, if he wants to snap from all the men's and not be able to reproduce, cool.
SPEAKER_05I like that.
SPEAKER_04Wow. But that and but that's still but it still wouldn't help because part of the problem was that there would still be subjects of emir that existed, and even if it was all women, that would still be a bunch of women that would be brutalized and abused by non subjects of emir, and they would reproduce even further and become more, they would make more titans.
SPEAKER_06I was just saying. Oh I definitely wasn't saying it was that. I wasn't saying it would be solved. I was just saying like real time.
SPEAKER_03That's why I sniff them niggas. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_01Like it, like when you put it like that, it's not really in a uh fully well thought out plan either. Because like euthanization, you know, for an entire population is you know, you you think you're stopping it, but that just stops who's here, but it doesn't stop other people from intermingling and still causing reproduction. Like, unless you're talking about even the women's uh wombs would be barren, which is that part is that euthanization too.
SPEAKER_04No, no, no. I think I don't think euthanization is the right word. I thought it was a euthanization plan.
SPEAKER_06No, but what is it called when you take somebody's utterism? I forgot what the correction plan, yeah.
SPEAKER_01You talk about sterilization, sterilization, yeah.
SPEAKER_06There it goes.
SPEAKER_01So, but but his plan was euthanization. That's what the name is they call it the euthanization plan, yeah. I think they I think they were wrong. Yes, oh, because I heard a bunch of I heard euthanization plan, I heard sterilization plan, I heard like there's a bunch of things that people said. So I that's funny, that's like telephone, it's like a bunch of misinformation, like Kase said, like people just saying he wants to euthanize us all.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, okay, like the only the only the only context and usation makes sense is that like is this if if you consider it because you euthanizing something is like putting something out of its misery. So so so if is if you're putting the race out of its misery, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And the in the euthanize the you euthanize the subjects of emir by sterilization. There it is. Okay, that makes more sense. Each one, teach one, we learn it together. Black and beautiful.
SPEAKER_03Uh but but no, I think uh I think I think uh just because of the because you had asked me about uh what would I would I would I liked it if Thanos more did this. No, I would appreciate if Thanos more did uh what Rachel was doing. Okay, because because half is just fucking arbitrary ass. Half does not you like if he looked if he like looked look looked at Earth and I'm like, oh okay, they need this now. And it was like, okay, this planet, uh oh y'all, you it's y'all, y'all are fucking all right. So all y'all, we're just gonna delete y'all and then see what everybody else does. Like, you know, every every every every every every place in the ecosystem has its own issues, yes, and arbitrary cut everything I have would not have addressed the most of them uh for any appreciable amount of time.
SPEAKER_04Um, but uh it's like the most extreme harm reduction.
SPEAKER_03But uh, but no, I can um I can definitely. appreciate with uh uh what aaron's doing i think uh but i think as far as the scope of this conversation it'd be 100 a villain is he just just yeah yeah uh like i think like it's uh like you were uh y'all were you know you use as a kid and and the shit that other people ain't got nothing to do with you fucks your shit up and you about to fuck a whole lot of uh other people's shit up and also also the anime has not done a good job of convincing me that the entire world is against them they they showed marley they showed niggas at a meeting in Marley well that is the the niggas at the meeting were world leaders yeah I did that them them no no i'm I'm agreeing with you no no no no no i'm agreeing like don't don't do shit to be because of shit trump did the that's literally how wars happen that's literally what i mean i'm not gonna say no names of no countries and that's why i didn't that's why i didn't go as an article i'm not i'm not gonna say it i'm just saying that's like that reason you know some problems that i didn't start right yeah yeah like it's like yeah it's like get killed them kill kill more of them niggas like y'all don't you also have to blame the manga for that because they i don't think they from when i was washing over mark shoulder they didn't flush it out really in the manga either reading over his shoulder like with hey listen um they didn't flush it out that well in the manga either so i mean yeah i just did a translation yeah i did like i wouldn't have needed a whole bunch of steps like if uh if aaron if aaron wiped out marley uh and then stared and then stared at the rest of the stared at the rest of the world and drew drew a line and was don't cross it yeah y'all stay over there i don't know there's a lot of your samity sams that just be crossing bugs bunnies line i'm not i'm but you make you make them cross the line because i did because again this is this has been a very marly uh marley versus the world paradise yeah and and this is not i i am not convinced that the rest of the world deserves to be fucking white wiped out or or or or they give it like that the you could you could open trade with the nigga because that's that's a real that's a real thing like do you want make make yourself useful to people and and and hate you know they they might hate you on the side for a while but being useful is a lot more uh is is is a much uh better solution than just like you know just being angry or being violent and then and then just throwing out threats you if you wiped out Marley and been like hey yep yep now now all all these resources that Marley had yep y'all could we can we could we can sell that to you and da da da and XYZ and uh yeah just don't fuck with us.
SPEAKER_06But I see I think Aaron's thing is that still leaves room for betrayal.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_06I was gonna say always just steal these these resources back from you along with the the the what is it the 10 titans that have the special abilities and then you know it'll you'll start it all over again so I think his mindset is just like I need to get rid of I'm gonna just I'm gonna just shake I'm gonna just shake all the shit off the board. We can be on a level playing field in this point.
SPEAKER_01Ain't no level playing field we can rid the playing field exactly if we're playing Yu-Gi-Oh we're using the burning land card we are getting rid of everything everything we're we are playing dark hole we're getting rid of everything on the field and that's my that was my other that was my other issue with it uh tight uh titans are because they even showed uh because they was like oh why isn't Aaron doing this why isn't Aaron doing this titans are not precise instruments yeah they I don't think he's gonna even even all if nothing was if nothing even happened to stop him I don't think he would kill everybody and and and if you and if you were worried about maybe somehow kind of sort of people being angry then the rest of whoever's left most certainly it might take forever because but they because they got they gotta re regroup yeah regroup remultiply whatever but but you gotta get them numbers back up yeah but but this is this is uh this is an atrocity uh the worse than the one that started the fucked up shit that you're at yeah yeah so I agree so it's kind of like so again uh that is as far as like being venomous of evil is no question uh yeah but but but again but again my issue because you know I don't I don't care about niggas being evil but make sure what you're gonna do is going to work uh like do you them niggas is gonna be big and just walk walk through and eat uh especially like colossal to can they even see them niggas I think they're just stepping I think they're just gonna walk over you see steam are you seeing this is steam and they just I told you walking through stomping their way across the world it's like it's like 500 armands just walking taking a jill scott let's just walk not the jill I mean before we know for Aaron at this point because I'm sorry wait wait wait not in my head I was just thinking of like Aaron leading these titans and I was just like east side walking out west side walking out oh my godside walking outside side walking oh my gosh um all we know you mirror singing over Aaron's body you really don't know what happened when she gave him or whatever happened in the tree all you saw was the merch I guess it's just operating off the information yeah what we know at the moment yeah yeah I mean so I it I would be interested to see where this goes do I feel like Aaron is a hundred percent villain I do not not partly feel like he's justified because a lot of he had a traumatic childhood I mean wait wait wait will I say he is justified no do I think he has a strong justification yes yeah but but just justification ain't even in the definition of a villain he's he's doing you you do villainous shit you are I mean uh you do villain that affects the plot because that's what fill that's what villain is I mean but whose plot is it affecting because his plot is fine what is what is happening in general we try to protect the parody's plot we try to protect that no we're not talking about propaganda well the plot is just what's happening are you doing fucked up shit that that massively affects everything then you're a villain oh and that's pretty much just what a villain is yeah I mean again we haven't we we don't know what the villain of the show is racism but let's not forget that actually and you know what that was that was gonna be my other my that was my last point like do you you don't want terrible shit to happen stop being all feel no no don't say that don't say that because that's my point do you all feel like that is what they are afraid of years and years of of of oppression years and years of pain sorrow slavery um do you feel like they are afraid that one day we will err in and reverse that that give back will be strong as hell because I that's what I feel like they think.
SPEAKER_06Like are you talking about in real time like real life real time real life.
SPEAKER_04So I'll say I'll say this I had a friend in college who said something and it has stuck with me ever since and what he said was a lot of black people don't want equality they want revenge and I don't I don't disagree with it. There are a lot of people who just legitimately want revenge and that's why I I think that's partly why let me not say entirely but I think it's partly why like a lot of nonviolent approaches a lot of social justice approaches don't work for a lot of people because the the the more militant aspect is like the the the very real like harm that came to them or the very traumatic relationship with the circumstances and like no this this isn't fucking right. So we're just gonna destroy it destroy everything we're gonna burn it all to the fucking ground and start over um or just take over right and that's how you get that's how you get to those killmonger approaches that you while they make sense as to why you're pursuing them the way in which you're doing them you know it's not ethical it's not it that it it in itself is not right. And that becomes the much more intense problem that we have to deal with.
SPEAKER_06I think it also goes back to how we were talking about how you know how you know stories are passed down and then when you see those stories kind of like happening in real life it just makes it all more like you're living in that time when that time should have happened you know when my grandparents were alive. I shouldn't still be living in that same time. Right, right like so I think between the protest and people not quite seeing it seeing that it's working I think with all black between black Wall Street and the many cities that you're learning about now that are over top of established black cities that used to be around like if you look at what was it I think it was Manhattan where the how it was established black city and how they killed everybody and now you see all this beautiful garden all over top of it is cities like that just in the US that are everywhere that I that you can just I guess Google now but we didn't even know about so I wouldn't be surprised if more black people wanted revenge because look if you look at history look at what all they've done to us over this time and they're still not stopping. They feel like they're still justified you know Trump done riled them up to the point where people are preparing for this giant ass race war that's about to supposedly happen. Like so no I think people do want revenge. That's why every time there's a killing at first and there was a protest you saw all the looting happen and things burning down.
SPEAKER_02People are sick of the shit absolutely and I feel like wanting revenge is completely justifiable like considering the rampant you know not only just the discrimination and the oppression but just that even the idea of what is just is so heavily based in whiteness in this country. So we're hovering in this system that's you know oppressing us but also telling us what we should think is just like it's you know it's absolutely absurd. And you can't you cannot demand stability from the people you are oppressed. You cannot do that. It doesn't make sense and even though you know depending on the approach to the you know quote unquote revenge like it may not be as efficacious as we want or it may not be as ethical as we want but it's definitely understandable. And it's something that you know this idea that oh well you know these violent looters like how dare they like no like you've been looting us for so long. This country has looted us repeatedly and continues to in so many ways that it's so much more harmful and violent than like a fucking target burned down or something like that. Right, right.
SPEAKER_04They'll be fine.
SPEAKER_06How do y'all hate us so bad but yet you steal everything from us from music to the way we dress to the way we talk to to the point where we have a term called weird like come on now. Like it it just it doesn't make sense.
SPEAKER_04We are feared something that you want to be yeah exactly we were not I I've talked to Such you know shogun about this before but I think the thing that I the thing that terrifies me the most about attack on Titan as a as a show is that the the subjects of this racism are white and like the major like everyone's white here. Everyone is white but the black guy no I mean who in between Marley and you know oh oh yeah like this entire conflict itself everyone conflicts the world so you gotta include everybody now you see he's including the world I mean but I mean more specifically like when it comes to like this whole beef over the titans between these two kingdoms and it's expanded over history and time. But like everyone I think the out the old like we see the very explicit like racism and like how how grounded the entire history of this conflict is in racism, exploitation, slavery, um like abuse and all these things. And I think as like black nerds who like this show and who like anime we're able to see these things but it will fly so far over non-black anime viewers' heads. And it's it's that that I think I'll save the rest of this for that attack on titan the attack on Titan episode we'll we'll eventually do. But like that's the that's like the kind of core thing that worries me about this show that it's so clearly about racism but it still won't make sense to the people a lot of the people watching it because it's an it's just an anime quotation marks.
SPEAKER_03Huh that part same thing we said about don't look up people they just naively watch it it's a movie all right like you said we'll go back we'll definitely revisit this uh in our attack on titan episode I asked that question and it just went this way my bad so um so we still have uh Kaze and the black McCoy to uh give their villains so we will go ahead with Kaze all right who's your villain and uh uh uh what what what what what have we what what what misgivings have been uh cast upon them and what what can we learn uh from your standpoint right all right i'm definitely uh uh right uh uh right rubbing up against uh the the definition of villain here but that's why i picked them it makes it interesting uh i pick the uh the uh luminati uh they are a uh secrets uh they are fictional secrets let's put that out there first make sure you specify which one please thank you yep yep yep yeah don't don't take out your dollars and start folding shit but uh yeah the illuminati are fictional secret society uh and group of superheroes appearing in uh Marvel Cox they are uh uh pretty pretty much uh whenever like some real like soup like whenever like something that one group of people cannot cannot handle then they they pretty much got the best minds from uh from and they and they got like a representative from each like major group so like so they have uh so they have nay namor because he's king of Atlantis and he's ridiculous um they got they got tony stark because he's amazing man the future absurdly smart they have uh reet richards uh also insanely insanely intelligent he's pretty much a magician um they got uh black bolt the king of the inhumans um we got got all the all the super shit uh uh steven strange uh and uh and this is just a version of the group the members you know because uh because dr hank mccoy has also been in the uh yeah yeah because because uh because uh xavier uh lost his head um but uh yeah so the first they they've done many th many things and not and most of the time when they get together something fucked up happened uh which is uh oh oh because uh because also freaking uh because captain america was in the group uh until they had to do something that was so fucked up that that would explain they're gonna so so fucked up that they had to not doing this today Miss Kittles you're gonna leave Steve alone today explains a lot he's the he he's the night filler this one uh but uh but yeah they had they had to do something so fucked up that uh they had to wipe uh they had to wipe Captain America's uh mind and just send him on his way because they was like yeah you aren't built for this uh because because we're here to make the we're here to make the hard decisions so so you know so the first uh very understandable but uh fucked up thing that uh that they did was they uh it was um it was uh it was right after uh the Hulk went on a rampage in uh Vegas you know it was a big you know it was a large you know human death count so so that so they you know they called they called they called the meeting and they was like yo we we we gotta we we gotta do something uh we gotta get rid of yeah yeah like this isn't this isn't like sustainable we can't keep because matter of fact he uh the uh the rampage he had he uh he stopped he stopped an alien invasion like just just literally just jumped from ship to ship and and like almost single handedly stopped the alien but but an alien invasion was happening over Vegas so he just the whole the Hulk was not uh uh discriminating uh this had to be seems to be a theme of the show uh he was not discriminating between the aliens and and the buildings and the people he was see Hulk Hulk was hulking um so like so he stopped the invasion but also fucked up massive mounts of Vegas uh bunch of property damage killed a whole bunch of people so they was like yeah nope this is ridiculous we have to we we gotta we gotta get him off planet so they literally like they literally like tricked Bruce uh onto the onto the ship told him he was gonna uh you know go do something and uh and they and they literally like shot the uh they they they was supposed to uh shoot the ship on into onto a like in a a non it was like a it was a planet where like almost no one was but he he would have been able to survive there uh but but where he but he ended up or this or this or this or this uh other planet there was there was a whole bunch of people there there was an arena there he fucking he he he he he like ended up fighting in uh slave pens and uh he he he ended up freeing the uh the people who was being taken uh taken advantage of there he like he helped lead their rebellion he became their king uh he had a family uh and then the ship the uh the ship that uh the Hulk uh showed up on uh it turned out had a uh nuclear device uh it was um it I mean it was just nuclear it was like nuclear powered and and the ship went off and wiped out almost all life on that planet including the Hulk's pregnant wife and you know and we find out that like well we we find out I guess uh uh later that it wasn't um it wasn't like all the all of the Illuminati's fault directly it was a lot of like other side shit but but just the just the action that they like that they took just like set all these things in motion and then and then and and that goes into one of my another one of my issues where you do you do when you do things and you're not and you don't do it correctly or or you're not thorough then shit comes and bite you in the ass. And Hulk came in and bit oh he he bit that nigga took a chalk yeah like well like what are the what what the well the best what the best best bobbits was uh cause uh because uh the um then humans live uh was living on the moon at the time and uh and again uh black bolt was the uh leader in human black bolt's like super fast almost invulnerable uh uh but like hope you know uh he can he can um he he he has a whole bunch of random super but his main thing is that he uh he has uh he he actually had to be nerfed but he has a super he has a supersonic shout and if he makes any noise he destroys everything that's in front of him like he used to he used to be able to uh I think he used to be able to blow up planets but like a whisper yeah but uh but um but hope Hulk shows up on the moon to to uh he makes a pick stop to go to go uh get Black Bolt and Black Bolt was uh you know he was feeling bad what he had to do uh because he uh uh he had he had uh he had his wife uh uh Medusa um translating for him because uh he just kind of I think he I think he talks to her telepathically and then she just like talks normally but uh but but like you know like uh you know Black Bolt was like hey Bruce like I know you're mad but you know you gotta understand you were but you know you were crazy and and the funny thing is like Bruce wasn't even that mad about being sent away. I I feel like you could have you could I think you could have just went and sat Bruce down and been like yo you can't be here no more and I don't think he would have had a great I don't think he would have had a lot of argument like Bruce Bruce to save lives too. Yeah he's he's very reasonable person. Like you know and and I think that was the and I and I think that was the uh the thing that really that that was one of the things that that made me put this on this list because it was kind of like you could have so it was something you could have talked about but you took it upon yourself to uh to to to could because you can't do because you don't have the power to uh to enforce your will on This person, you uh you you had to go do some sideways uh funky shit, and uh you know, and and and for and you know, and and they came back and bit you in the ass. But he like he he like he walks up on black boat and then black belt's like, yo, I don't I don't want to like have to like blow you know blow you away.
SPEAKER_04I don't want to kill you. Can you can we not do this?
SPEAKER_03Right, and like and uh and you know and and blackboat started saying this himself, so he's saying, like, yo, Bruce, don't make me do this, and like you know, in the in the in the pieces of the moon are like flying back, and and this is like giant wave of fucking sound and destruction, like hitting Hulk, and Hulk's walking through this shit. And he and he picks and he picks up a black boat by like his scruff, and he was like, I he's like, I didn't, I didn't come here to hear you whisper, I came here to make you scream. The whole shit out of black boat, and black boat is screaming out of in pain now. So everything's getting blown the fuck up, and hope is this could say it's it's like is it's like it's like when you uh you like your mama beating your ass and and and you actually like swing back just out of the reflex and start beating your ass for hitting her. So I won't I won't go into major detail into the uh into all these like personal ass whoopings that that that that that the Hulk ended up handing out. But that was that was like one by one. But the next uh not not even the next, but the uh my next example of uh of the uh Illuminati uh being villains is that the uh they found they found out that the uh that the the like something something really fucked up happened to the multiverse. So the what was happening was um I think it was similar to what happened in DC, but pretty much the uh the multiverse was converging on itself. So all all like things was kind of colliding into a singular timeline. So what was happening was like uh so Earth uh other Earths from different dimensions would would crack into our dimension and and and and they were they would be about to collide. So so they so the so the lumina the the little I mean everyone on Earth kind of did everything they could. They was like, uh can we slow it down? No. Can we uh can we can we open another portal somewhere else? No. The uh the so they they they went and got the uh infinity gauntlets and uh and when they tried the infinity gauntlets, they uh all the uh all the gems broke. In the comic sign, which infinity gauntlets only only work uh uh on stuff from that from that particular specific universe, and these are Earths from other other universes. So so the so the infinity gems fucking broke. So after Infinity Gems broke.
SPEAKER_04Because they were no longer stones, they were just gems.
SPEAKER_03Fucking um, so they so the so they got back together and they was like, uh, so it's it's so uh is it's their earth or our earth. We we gotta blow that shit up. So they so they so the so the so the Illuminati uh uh like every time I think the it uh the the the incursions like they were happening like every I guess X amount of months, but they started to uh they got closer and closer, like you know, like contractions and shit. And uh and every time a Earth uh Earth would show up, they had to go, they had to they had to go fight the that Earth's supers because they was trying to defend their Earth.
SPEAKER_04Wait, was that that one where they fought like the Marvel version of the DC heroes? Yeah, yep. And Doctor Strange was and Doctor Strange opened up that board. Yep, summoned that demon and washed them. So for those of you who don't know, in that particular fight, uh they basically the the Marvel characters we know of were going up against like Marvel versions of their DC counterparts. And the Dr. Fate counterpart, uh, I forgot what the child's name was, but it was literally like a child who had all these magical items. And Doctor Strange was like, Oh, you don't know what real magic is. Let me let me show you. And when I tell y'all, this man had an eye, a demonic eye, like he asked, could never that shit open in the middle of his head in the most Lovecraftian way that I've ever seen. And all you saw was a portal open in the sky, and these demon tentacles reached down and grabbed every single last one of them and tore them back to wherever the whatever hellscape he brought that shit from, and they were dead. That fight was over. We can't get that kind of Doctor Strange in the NCU. That's too much power.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I don't know. We got we got we gotta see what that Doctor Strange, the bad complexion is because we we we just had a strange use of tentacles.
SPEAKER_04Uh it uh but even still he had to take that from somewhere. Yeah, yeah, but nope, nope, nope, no, not oh but ooh, ooh, oh Lord, that was one of my that was it was fucked up, but that was one of my favorite Doctor Strange moments ever. Oh, you you don't you you poor thing, you don't know what you don't know what true power is. Let me let me let me educate you on what real magic is.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, so so yeah, so this is uh this is an this is an pretty the the person who mind you that was a child.
SPEAKER_04It wasn't a grown adult, it was a child.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're sorry, yeah, you c okay because he was like half Shazam, half Dr. Fate, right? Yeah, and he was like, Oh, you don't even know what these do. Like but uh but yeah, so uh but yeah, so yeah, the um uh matter of fact, the the person the person who initially used the infinity garment, it was Steve. And then it didn't work, and Steve was like, Oh fuck, well, we gotta figure something else out. And and and then everybody else was like, they was just looking at him because everybody else like you know, they read they read the room, they was like, nigga, we tried everything. Like the the the jib the the the the infinity gauntlet was was the that was our last uh that was our last chance to to stay heroic. But now it's it's them or us. And they and they just started white wiping all all these uh people out. Namor did got this time especially heinous and got kicked out, but I don't remember exactly uh what he did. And Black Panther was trying to kill him uh anyway, cuz uh because Namor uh hit hit Wakando for title eight. But uh yeah, yeah, this is uh this is yeah, this is one of those things. It's like uh the the a situation doesn't always give you uh the privilege to stay clean. Sometimes you gotta do fucked up shit. And this is one of those uh uh one of those situations. I and I th I think I think the I think what made the Illuminati uh interesting is because it was like it was it was that they were like the best. They were they they were like almost exalted. Um so it was I I love the whole storyline where they just they they were just forced into this position and it was kind of like you know, like it's fucked up they had to do it, but what else did you want them to do? So yeah.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04So I'm I'm looking for this comment because I need I need y'all to see what Doctor Strange did to this video.
SPEAKER_01Well we will do it at another uh later, I guess, because it is now your turn to uh give us your villain. So the black mob boy.
SPEAKER_04So I've actually cycled through a couple of villains as I was listening. I was like, ooh, why did I change it? But um, and I did. So um the villain, quote unquote, that I'm going with um is from Godzilla, uh king of the monsters. And the quote-unquote villain that I'm going after is, or I'm going to defend, is Dr. Emma Russell, portrayed by Vera Farmika. Now, for those of you who do not know Dr. Emma Russell, she was a paleobiologist um who worked with the organization Monarch that was established after uh or established after Kong Skull Island, and you know, they investigate all the all the monsters or like the they're called the Titans. And long story short, um, we go through this film under the impression that you know we're trying to just find all of the Titans. But uh Dr. Russell is actually working with the terrorist organization in order to not simply find not simply just find all of the Titans, but to wake them up as well. And so initially, because of Godzilla, because of um everything that happened with Godzilla, everything that happened with Godzilla and the motus from the first Godzilla movie within this continuity, they wanted to the you know, the government and I think monarch, they they they wanted the they wanted monarch to destroy or kill all of the titans. So no shit like that would ever happen again. But uh this terrorist organization held the belief or held the uh not even the belief, but the understanding that these titans ought to roam the earth, right? They should not be murdered and they should not be, they should not be continued, they should, we should not continue to subjugate them and or relegate them to being um like in this like long hibernation. And so throughout the movie, they go and wake up every single last Titan. Now, because you know, white people do and white people do, and didn't get all the information that they need to get, because that involves some actual like cultural understanding about some things, um, they woke up the wrong one. They shouldn't have. And uh King Ador was not even from that planet, so he wasn't even a Titan that the world needed, because he was just literally going around fucking up everything. But um, but through even after all of the issues that are all the problems that occurred in that film because of King Ghidorah, because of all the Titans being awoken, some of them being extremely horrific, horrific-looking creatures. Um there was still an idea. It's fine. Every time I say there's an idea, I think about Nick Fury. But there was an idea that the Titans themselves were essential to the environment. Because like we're still like in the film, we're still dealing with the world that is dealing with climate change and the and the negative effects of like pollution and all these other different things. But the the it was the radiation, yeah, the radiation that poured from the titans, because like Godzilla, like like Godzilla, all the other titans, you know, they they fed off of or were empowered by radiation. And so it was the radiation that poured from their bodies that had a positive impact on the environment. And so, even though like that we go through this whole battle between King Ghidorah and Godzilla, the entire movie, and watch Godzilla get dog walked across the across the literal world. It turns out that, like, after you know, Godzilla's, you know, killed King Ghidorah, asserted himself as Alpha, what have you, that one of the things that's really important to note about the film in the post-credit scene is that all of these creatures were doing exactly what um Dr. Russell and these terrorists said that they were going to do. The world legitimately started improving, and we it was because we had all of these giant fucking kaijus walking around and just living on the planet and their soul, and they weren't disturbing anyone, their sole existence was taking care of the environment which we lived in. So it was like it was I I say that I and I I use the term villain very loosely with her because it was like you can call her an antagonist, but like because her motives were largely driven, her motives were driven by a certain d degree of need and understanding, but almost this kind of like um, I want to say like evangelical kind of reverence towards the Titans, which is in and of itself a problem. But also because she worked with the terrorist workers, they were going around murdering literally anyone who got in their way and hijacking a technology that they didn't have, they had only so much control over. They it was called the Orca, which helped them quote unquote control the Titans, because that was the idea to use this technology to control the Titans so that they inevitably would be on top in some way. But you know, that's the terrorist organization itself. And she just wants to, you know, she wants to let the animals run freeze so they can do what they need to do, so the environment can go back to this, can progress to the state that it needs to be at, so it's habitable, not simple that is habitable for us, and it's like sorrow's only a and all these other things that we were talking about earlier, would actually not be legitimate problems. So um, my eco-fascism side. Um my eco-fascism side was like, no, like despite despite the kind of core idea of a bunch of Titans walking around, um, and fortunately, fortunately, not the um the attack on Titan kind, um, actually potentially worse now that I think about it, um, just walking around and existing and improving um our our quality of life on our own planet, and not even our own planet, but on their planet as well, because there's always like the film itself tackles so many like really interesting ideas around environmentalism, eco-fascism, um, around just human imperialism when it comes to how we continue to dominate and abuse our environment, um, as well as the kind of fear that's laden with this concept of the unknown, or this it also juggles this like sense of human ownership of the planet Earth when as if we are the ones who this planet belongs to. We are the ones who have dominion over it when there are creatures who existed before us with more power and more strength and a better impact on this actual planet. And juggling all of those different, like not explicit questions, but I would say more thematic questions and issues that are constantly on various opposing sides in this argument, or not argument, I was like in this film, like help formulate this idea that sure, we have this anti, it seems like a bad idea, and it seems antagonistic and villainous to want to unleash all of these monstrous creatures to just roam the earth. But at the same time, they were here before us and they're not dead, they're just technically kind of asleep. And the only reason there were there was a problem with them actually, you know, fucking everything up was because there was another monster, a much bigger, more powerful monster that tried to control that did control them because it had the it had the power to do so. And it actually like sets up like it's it's it shifts from it shifts the the villain cap from um Dr. Russell and the terror and the eco-terrorists to King Ghidorah, but overall it still sets it up where it places blame on Dr. Russell and the other terrorists for unleashing King Ghidorah. And that in and of itself was absolutely like an egregious mistake. Like I said, if they had actually learned more in the way that they needed to, then that wouldn't have been a problem. You wouldn't have had this literal alien creature that was, you know, destroy that was doing nothing but destroying the planet and ruling over it. And if anything, I I I like to think that King Ghidora is actually a stronger metaphor for the human race and what they were actually doing and trying to control the rest of nature and still fucking it up in the first place. But yeah, that's uh that's my short style. I like to think short spiel on Dr. Dr. Emma Russell and why she was not a villain or a real antagonist in uh Godzilla King of the Monsters.
SPEAKER_03Uh nope, I can 100% get by on that. I was uh I was uh I was uh I even while watching the movie, I was like, uh okay, so do y'all do y'all want me to disagree with her? I'm just like I'm waiting on this other uh foot to drop because it was like uh it was uh it reminds me of the in a lot of the in a lot of the uh like killmonger conversations. It was like, oh man, yeah, he he he made such great points and he was right. And it was like, well, yeah, I think every I think not not everyone, I think most people can agree that he made great points and he's right about a lot of things. Every I think everyone was really was super on board, and I think they knew that when they was writing him, and I think that's why they made him shoot, shoot the damn, shoot his damn girlfriend, and then and then immediately want to go to war with the rest of the world because it was kind of like wait, wait, there was I think you know, and I think that that's that's my same issue that I had with most of the people have issues. I was like, wait, wait, there was the like you you did what you had to do, like to to gain like momentum and take advantage and gain power. But like now that you have power, it's like the the thing you want to do is like wait, wait, wait, wait, I think that there might be better ways to do that. And uh, but but yeah, they that that that was not that that was not here. They didn't they didn't insert like uh mustache twirling uh villain's uh activities into her so uh so you so you knew the the audience had a shorthand to know that you're supposed to dislike her. She was they just she like she did what she did, and you know, and and I guess the the worst thing she did was she was working with the with the terrorists. So like it was kind of like so when you work with Tywin Lannister, you always go some problematic direction. Yeah, so like if they did something, if they ended up doing something super fucked up, I guess she you know she would have been uh complicit. But uh yeah, no, I'm I'm 100% for uh waking up giant giant things that have a better ecological footprint than we do. Like like wake wake them niggas up because we we are failing. Like uh matter of fact, there's a it was a it was a similar uh ecological message in uh Final Fantasy VII. Like there's a there was a part where uh the one one of the main antagonists, uh uh Separovs, he was doing his his big plan. He was at the he was at the he was at the uh North Crater and he uh and it was a very similar uh thing where there was um the the the Earth had uh defenses uh set up uh where if it if the earth if the uh it wasn't the earth if the planet was uh was ever like under a certain amount of danger according to whatever the the you know the planet decided because it had some the the the collective of the planet was actually all the souls of the people that lived there. But um, but yeah, they will wake up if they ever thought it was in danger. And and but so but when the weapons woke up, they flew past Separov and and and attacked and attacked the humans because the uh because the humans literally uh uh started siphoning the uh the energy of the planet, which was the souls of everything, which it was like literally like the soul.
SPEAKER_04The literal life.
SPEAKER_03It was the souls of memories of everyone living there, and they just started using that shit to run factories and turn on lights. So like this kid was like, yeah, yeah. It was it was fucking up. Yeah, so like yeah, so the um yeah, so the weapons from uh Final Fantasy VII and the uh titans from uh uh yeah Kingdom Monsters definitely like uh have a lot of parallels. Yep, yep, yep.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's interesting. It reminds me of kind of the the deities from Arceus, how they're like they're not of course Titan sized, but they're like they have um nature, obviously, you know, the the natures from Pokemon, but they have nature-based application to the realm. They were given powers by Arceus to have some type of prevailing um uh uh jurisdiction over these different areas to keep these places, you know, stable. And because the stability was off, they started what's the word that's kid they used in the game? They started frenzy frenzying, yes. They started to frenzy and you know go crazy. And it was up to you to work with them to be able to secure. And you know, I I've always enjoyed, you know, different games and different storylines that have that kind of concept where they have some type of, you know, Legend of Zelda has that as well. They have temples or their deities in different places, and their responsibility is to protect and maintain this. But something comes up uh comes about, whether it's humanity, whether it's some type of darkness and uh and uh what's that word? Um, contaminates and manipulates and perverts their abilities, their senses, and causes them to run amok. But you know, I didn't watch Godzilla, Kingdom Arcers, but you know, hearing that the Titans had a positive, you know, restoring Gaia restoring uh uh footprint to, you know, and they're only their their purpose of being around was to maintain the balance. And I guess to ask you, I wanted to ask you the question about comparing them to the Titans from AOT. Did the Titans from King of Monsters? Go around killing people, or did they just walk around minding their damn business?
SPEAKER_04They walked around minding their damn business. The only reason they were like actually causing destruction was because of King Ghidorah. And King Ghidorah, like then in the movie, like they set up the position of there being a quote unquote an alpha, right? The king, a literal king of all the monsters. And King Ghidorah wasn't a creature that was of Earth. Right. It was, and so you know, it was lit, it asserted itself as the Alpha, but it was only causing destruction.
SPEAKER_01So I was asking, why did you why did you say that they were worse than the Titans from AOT? Because the Titans from AOT was eating niggas. So I'm trying to figure out why they were worse.
SPEAKER_04I think they were they were I think yeah, because of King. Yeah, yeah. Only by virtue of King Ghidorah, as like individual species.
SPEAKER_01But when that nigga was gone, they were just tranquil, minding their damn business, whatever.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because Godzilla got Godzilla sort of dominance and was the new Alpha and was like chill the fuck out.
SPEAKER_01I just want to understand that because I was like, you just said that, like, unless you're saying that the Titans were wiping out humans to restart the planet, then I was like, oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04But you know, they they were just so in the movie, they it sets it up to where they basically were following the will of the alpha, like they didn't challenge alpha, they did whatever they were supposed to do, and the own king King Ghidorah was the only alpha who was like destroy everything.
SPEAKER_01Gotcha. Okay. That also reminds me of Power Rangers. Like this one season they had animal uh Zords, and the Zords again had dominion over certain natures. And the Alpha, I think it was a lion that season, it might not have been a lion, but he had the ability to fuse or you know combine with that individual natured uh um Zord and then you know become a Zord to fight against evil. So I I've always liked different concepts like that, where it's either natures or or or animalistic beings that are able to have some type of dominion. And I've always hated when you know niggas fuck with that shit. Don't fuck up the balance.
SPEAKER_04I think it's also thematic to like all the other stuff we've been talking about, because like whenever we've like talk about killmongers or we talk about Aaron or we talk about Dracula or like any of the other any of the other villains that we've talked about, quote unquote, it's just like they're a lot of their actions are taken to the extreme as like a symbol of like, oh, you should ought not to do this. And like one, it's one of the things that we see constantly in so many other shows. Like, even in Legend of Cora, when you look at like Amon, when you look at the Red Lotus, when you look at not so much Unalak, but when you look at like Amon and the Red Lotus, um, or I guess Unalak as well, and Kuvir, I guess when you look at all four of them, they had legitimate, you know, they had legitimately good ideas. But they also did you leave out to here? No, I said the red lotus. Oh, right, sorry. Yeah, yeah, but um, they had legitimately good ideas, like they had things that were, you know, positive ass positive shit that we need in the world, but they were taken to like these really like extreme, despotic, despotic ways of actualization. And a lot of that has a tendency to happen when it comes to stories where people have legitimate grievances that are real, but it's like, oh, well, don't be like these people, because I mean, sure, you know, but there there are better ways.
SPEAKER_01Like every single one of the people you named, every single one of the villains we named, all tried it on the lower level, on on the political level, on the humane level, on the talking to a motherfucker level, and it did not work. Yeah, and and and realistically, I don't even feel like they took it to an extreme. It from all the people we just talked about, it sounded like a slow progression to the extreme. Like it took Ray Sha Ghoul hundreds of years to come to where he's at of what he decided to do. Thanos didn't just say, Oh, I'm gonna go find the affinity stones. It he tried it on his planet to the point where his planet got destroyed, and I'm sure he started in a galaxy first and then slowly said, Let's just go up to the universe. All y'all niggas need to do. He was going planet by planet for a while. I mean, I don't know about Aaron though.
SPEAKER_05Aaron seemed to like he did a little bit of traveling, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I don't know about Aaron. Aaron, I was about to say, he was like nobody. I was like, I have to think about it for a second. I thought Aaron kind of kind of went to the extreme. I think he was pretty well, he was pretty upset because he but we we haven't seen the end yet. So I'm I'm giving it right now the benefit of it. Exactly. But everybody else, all the older people, let me say the all the older people only took their time to get to where they were their extreme. So I I'm not gonna disagree with what you said, but I I will say that it's a refined position of it, yeah. Right. Like it, I don't think it was a um you we we have to take it to the ump degree. No, it was a slow progression. They tried, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Like I I and I agree with you. I've been fighting all my life. I gotta do it for me, Lucius.
unknownI gotta do it for me.
SPEAKER_04No, and I and I think you're absolutely right. Like they they all of the character, you know, Aaron aside, well, he had a slow progression, but it was a whoop. But um, they all had this low, they all tried doing quote unquote the right thing first and then made their way to like, I need to do what I need to do to make sure that I do the right thing or I do what is necessary.
SPEAKER_01And just love the planet more, planet, the universe, the galaxy more than the heroes that are trying to save it. Right. Like, if with one, I'm sorry, I know you're about to say something, but if one thing that I appreciate about super crooks is the fact that the heroes in super crooks were so obsessed with being heroes, like like my hero academia level of getting pays and paid and being like superstars and celebrities, they were more obsessed with that and completely forgetting about the thousands and hundreds of people that they were killing and slaughtering in these buildings. Same thing with Invincible, just slaughtering people. And I love how that now that we're older, that's the switch now. Like before it was like Superman leaps tall buildings in a single bound, Batman does this, uh, Wonder Woman does that, and Aquaman does this, and all these other, and you never like when we were kids, I'm sure some of us every now and then were like, hmm, I feel like there were people in that building you just threw. Uh, that that train that you just flipped over. Right. I feel like it was the train was moving with people on it.
SPEAKER_04It's like Batman B Superman was the terrible movie, but I understand why Batman was like, This nigga needs to be stopped.
SPEAKER_01Why? I mean, it was altering our head, but now it's like as we're older, and either it's us who are in these writing rooms and these the who are the artists behind these comics and these shows, or now people are like, let's question these things. Like, like, like that one meme I just saw yesterday where he's like a villain, he's like, just just wants to uh uh uh uh produce mass genocide and and and in the middle of a city, and then the and then it says the hero just produced mass genocide while trying to stop the villain.
SPEAKER_04I'm like problem solved, so it's like you get what you want regardless, but it's but it's one of those things that like that's probably why our villain episodes are so great now because like we grew up in a we grew up in this transitional period because like for a while it was like you have your bad guys and you have your good guys, and your bad guys are doing bad shit, doesn't really make then they have their bad reasons for doing their bad things, and that's that's it, and they they get defeated, and we all go home. That sounds so sad the way it's like we all go home, but like as we've gotten older, or as we've kind of gone through our own transformative period, even shows like Steven Universe and like Owl House, like they have Owl House, love that show. Sorry, same. Thank you for putting me on. Um but like even there, like children and children uh all age group groups are getting more sophisticated villains who are less villains in some most cases, and I'll say some slash most cases, and just more so antagonists. Random fucked up the percentage.
SPEAKER_01We can't just say all the villains have a reason.
SPEAKER_04No, no, maybe this is just upset. We just can't, we can't. I mean, I'm not gonna lie, the perpetual, the persistent like exploitation, enslavement, and demonized demonization and dehumanization of your people in more than in multiple ways.
SPEAKER_01It's y'all said it before. It it's not justified, but there's a wait, y'all said it's not justified as a justification, yes. Okay, so but let's let's let it finish first. Let's let it unfold first. So let's let it finish. Lord, what if we copy kiss Aaron in my family form?
SPEAKER_06I'm like Miss Kittles, um, but yeah, you're to the heart. We're gonna stop attacking my man, all right? Like, old boy, like yo, yo, you're not gonna disrespect.
SPEAKER_01You're not gonna attack on my thing. I knew you were gonna do that. I knew I was gonna talk, but but the talking coming.
SPEAKER_03I mean, honestly, I think I think if like I think if like someone called air the villain to his face, I don't think he would disagree. I don't think he'd be upset. I don't think he would care. He wouldn't be 100%. So that's what I'm saying. Like, y'all was like, oh wait, it's it's like it's like a resistance to call them, but they can just be that. Yeah, it's fine. They they if you they doing what they gotta do. Yep.
SPEAKER_04It's funny. What the fuck? What is a what is a villain? Like, I had to like legitimately just Google, like, oh, you know, look, what is the definition of villain? And all it says is like a character whose evil actions or motives are important to the plot.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, when I said it first, when I said it earlier, I looked up that definition. That's why that's what I was saying. Like, yeah, right.
SPEAKER_04And even like on Wikipedia, a villain is a stock character whether based on a historical narrative or one literary fiction, random house on a bridge. Did not just say Wikipedia, right? It's like the the the term villain and even like the definition that's giving it, because it's like it says you know, in a film, novel, or play or something like that, and it's like a character whose evil actions, and it's like then that's a convert around talking about evil actions is inherently a conversation by itself. And it's like when we think about a lot of the things that these people do or have done, it's like, oh, these are considered evil or heinous act actions.
SPEAKER_06What have a whole SPU intro in here?
SPEAKER_04Oh my god. Like every time I say every time I say the word heinous, that sound goes off in my head. And I was teaching class or I was teaching class last week and I said the word heinous and I like stopped because I almost did that out loud. And like I it was like watching an NPC like stall about to say, you know, the people, the age groups of the people in your class. I don't get that reference, but like they know they know the reference. I know this, but like, no, I paused because I look like I like I malfunctioned, and I was like, I had to explain to them what happened. So like I said, heinous, like whenever I hear heinous, I hear like the law and order sound, and they got it. But like, but no, whenever we like see these things that these people do, we it's like we have to have a conversation about like morality and values when it comes to the their actions, because calling them calling a character a villain or even calling them an antagonist at a certain point, it is it is ascribing, it is saying what they're doing is wrong, but then we have to have a deeper conversation about, you know, why is it wrong? And some things are a bit more intuitive or more implicit to a lot of us than some other things. But it's the hard part is that legitimate arguments can be made for that. I think that's the that's the part that makes the more interesting now. Like legitimate argumentation can be made. And of course, of course, all this a lot of this is writer-dependent on how some of that is flesh is flushed out, but but like legitimate arguments can be made for these people doing the things that they do and you know why they do them and why it is correct or justified that they do those things.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I think I thought I can't wait till we do our jiu-jitsu Kaiser movie reviews.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Well, no, one of the one of the things I uh find interesting about the all the villain talk is is looking into the uh circumstances that put the villain in whatever situation they're in, and then and then kind of analyzing whether or not a product of those circumstances could have even been expected to come up with a good answer in the first place. And it's kind of like and like you know, and and and I go back to one of my issues with uh uh Thanos is the uh the problem the problem that Thanos had uh as far as the information he was given was a very personal one. That's something that happened on his planet, and that is something he went out and like he did that's something he just went out and like, oh see, it's happening here, and it was happening here. But the but the but the movie did not show us a bunch of a bunch of lack, a bunch of like it didn't show us the problem. Uh yeah, yeah, yeah. It was it's like I'm this is happening, trust me. Are you are you just aren't super traumatized about what happened to you? Are you positive? Like, yeah, yeah, it's out there, you'll find it because you're looking for it. But but it it was uh you know, I mean, and this and again, narratively, he could he he technically could have been right, but that is not but that is not what was shown, and that could have been a time issue, that could have just been bad storytelling.
SPEAKER_04It's a big universe, and it's it's gonna be difficult to show inequality everywhere.
SPEAKER_05They would have had so it's based off of the MC's background of him, they would have had to go where they're on the way to now because we've we've just gotten to um what was the what the uh the eternals so part of Thanos' story backstory has to do with the eternals.
SPEAKER_08So and if they if they go in on so we gotta we gotta go wherever they go to to get around today.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03If they came back, it explained that Thados knew about the celestials and didn't fuck with their plan and and and knew that like cutting all life in half would would would would like severely cut the energy that the celestial eggs needed to fucking hatch. And it it's if if that was if they if they say like that's what that's part of what you trying to do, I I had no complaints.
SPEAKER_01Like all right, Harry Styles, you heard it.
SPEAKER_03And I was like, kudos.
SPEAKER_04Listen, you gotta do what you gotta do.
SPEAKER_01All right, all right, all right. We have uh uh circle past honestly, I would say six villains, but we've talked about a lot of villains today. Um, this is actually a really good episode.
