Welcome everybody. This is Blur Spectrum, and I am your special guest host, Sammy Braces, also known as uh Bruiser Brother Dome. And uh we could also catch the rest of our cast as we talk about manga and web tunes that we are reading today. We have the lovely Miss Skittles with us today.
SPEAKER_07Sorry, I was on mute.
SPEAKER_08It was a wonderful say on A. The Magnus sent Kaze.
SPEAKER_12What's going on?
SPEAKER_08The beautiful black McCoy over here. How you guys doing? Doing pretty well, doing pretty well. So today we'll be talking about webtoons and manga that we've been reading. A lot of people understand, you know, we all talk about anime, and that's normally the staple of the nerd and blurred we'll say um community. But there's another side that's not talked about as much, and that is manga and webtoons. So we'll start with um who wants to start with what their favorite is at this moment? It's gonna be me. Y'all just gonna pull me out there? Because I got a long list. I got a long list. I can think of this whole episode. I don't watch shit. Um I watched my I watched my exam the only because I started reading it a week before it came out.
SPEAKER_12But it was called in for retirement for a reason. Oh real. We needed a special set of skills.
SPEAKER_07I think I'm leaving these subject.
SPEAKER_08Uh reading. I'll start out with um, I just actually finished a bunch of webtoons, actually. Um, bunch of web tunes that just came to the end, some of which are still coming to the end. Like uh a long space odyssey opera called Denma. It's literally just talking of a universe of shit. Like it's like just like the main characters, they have these things called quamps. They're like superheroes, but each one has special abilities. And they are normally used for war, some are used for actual like humanitarian reasons, but most of the time they're just used by some of the most rich mobsters that you can think of in this universe, including the church. Yeah, it gives you a lot of people. So this is this, and uh give y'all how long this manga is, or this webtoon is. This webtoon has now been going on for about six years, and it's Wednesday through Sunday. Every single day, every single week. I have been reading this.
SPEAKER_12Uh what's the main character's name?
SPEAKER_08Huh? The main character's name, actually, the main character's name is Dyke. Let me take that.
SPEAKER_12Okay, okay. I was I was ready.
SPEAKER_08I was like, let me let me put a picture of this third. Wait, it's what? Yeah, because it's weird how they do that because they start with this little dude that's supposed to be like throwing over, and then next thing you know, they go to him, and it just it just gets weird. It's a lot of a lot of characters are introduced, a lot of stuff is talked about. Um a lot of death. Betrayal, actually. A lot of betrayal, a lot of betrayal.
SPEAKER_11Um isn't isn't that something that's like kind of characteristics of space odyssey like genre? Like there's always some sort of like extreme like betrayal, either political betrayal, friendship betrayal.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it seems like it's even when you look at like some of the older, like some of the gundams that took place in space, like Gundam Wing W stuff.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean that I thought that was the premise of anything to do with space stuff is limited resources. So, you know, you're cutting your your your best friend is just another person competing for the resources that you want. Right.
SPEAKER_08See, so to some extent, they kind of do that, but it's not like the limited resources is really just whatever the church controls. So it's like whoever has limited resources is those who don't be on the good side of the church.
SPEAKER_11See, this is why you don't pay this is why you should stop paying your tithes.
SPEAKER_12Uh maybe take some tithes.
SPEAKER_11It was just five dollars, bam.
SPEAKER_08Five, ten. No, no, but uh that's one of them. That's one of them, and now we're in the epilogue stages of it. The epilogue has now been going on for two weeks. Yes, the epilogue is that fucking wrong. Uh, it's not done yet. It's not done yet. Um, another I was going to a manga that I've been reading as of late is uh Legend of the Northern Blade.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna mention that one.
SPEAKER_08Okay, I'm gonna leave that alone. Uh I'm sorry. That's good. No, you go ahead. I'm gonna let you talk about it, but I'm just gonna mention the title. Okay, I'm gonna let you talk about it, I'm gonna mention the title.
SPEAKER_12Give me the give me the time to put these on Google.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, here's another one, and then I'm actually reading at this very moment before we started on this right if I was talking. Um, National. Nashville is created by the people who did mob 100, mob cycle 100, I think it is. Or mob okay, mob cycle 100 and um One Piece. I mean, not One Piece, one punch, right? One punch. So it's literally made by the punch you get both of those, and it's it's actually a combination of the two. So think if uh Harry Potter went to Hogwarts, but he cannot do magic. But he was strong enough to do things physically that look like magic.
SPEAKER_12Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_08That is no magic. Well, yeah, yeah, one plus magic. There you go. But it's literally like he can't do magic, but he can do stuff that look like magic. Yeah, like let's put it like this. So he's that strong. Yeah, he gets into an academy of magic users, and one of the things he got to do is get through a maze. But the only way to really get through it is to figure out these magical beasts and these magical puzzles. So what he does is he punches his way through the whole thing. That's it's a like it's a showing comedy, it's the easiest way to say it. Like they're both ways, it shouldn't be shit, and they're like, nah, copy, copy that shit out. Like, like he holds back his powers because one time he tried to give his grandfather a massage and broke his shoulders. Oh, dang it. Now he holds back his strings from here on out. That's that's a traumatic situation he has to get over to reach the next level. Think about that. Like, yeah, yeah, that's that's what this judge is like. Any serious, any serious shoulder joke, they just laugh at that. They say, now this is a joke. Put all that chill, that's it. So it's like so it's it's and the now the the combat in it is actually good. I actually look, I hope they make uh uh anime out of this because uh the fight scenes are good and done incredibly well. And the way that he gets over some of the uh the issues with not using magic is really just on his strength and his knowledge of like certain science, like how he fights a magnetic magician by spinning his body in a way fast enough to to fight the inertia of what the dude is trying to do. The fight fight the inertia or fight the polarity of the guy making it so he has to be attracted to this fight ball. That's how he fights you. That's that's how these fights work. It's a lot of some intelligence, but it's a lot of comedy and a lot of just how physically do you do this?
SPEAKER_11That's very because one of the things that so like when I don't read that much manga, but like when I one of the things that pushed me to reading more manga was the fact that some fight scenes just weren't gonna work out for me. But at the same time, some things like some action scenes or certain sequences weren't gonna work for me in the anime, but they also weren't gonna work for me in some of the manga. Like when I stopped watching Naruto, I moved straight to reading the manga because it was way better to read the manga than to watch the show for me. And like I noticed that when it came to like Attack on Titan and One Piece, I couldn't read those manga because the the animation translated what was happening so much better for me.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, One Piece, and I I always tell everybody if you watched Attack on Titan first, don't go to the manga. Because those the people who did that, the anime studio who did that, they are so good at stretching those slight panels out to something more grandiose that it's hard to make the transition back. Like I like I read through the manga first before I ever went to the anime. So it's like for me, it was like, all right, cool. Now I'm going to the anime to see what I already read drawn out. It's not me trying, I'm not trying, I'm not so much shocked as in you know what turns happen in the story. It's more, I want to see how this is drawn out, how this is played out. And it's just done way, it's done really well, done very, very well. They're one of the better ones follow the uh the that follow their mangas to the T. I also look forward to Chainsaw Man doing the same thing.
SPEAKER_03Um yeah, Chainsaw Man is gonna be that's gonna be kind of that's gonna be an overly censored one too, though.
SPEAKER_08I don't think that I I hope they don't overly censor it. In fact, I hope they leave it the way it is for the most part.
SPEAKER_03I know there's some parts they probably with um Terror for Mars, where it was the manga was really good and like really gory though. Yeah, and it came out and it was just kind of butchered because they couldn't show half the scene.
SPEAKER_08They tried, and they uh they honestly tried to, but yeah, I don't say what's saying. I don't say what's saying. Um anybody else? Any other mangas to talk about? I know Lemo, you had one actually you were about to mention, but I said it for you, so go ahead.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, um it for uh Legend of the Northern Blade. It's it's a martial arts, it's not a cultivation one, but it's a martial arts one. Uh this guy, a the world is oh crap, one second on sorry, the world is uh full of uh different martial arts sects, and they have this one, uh I guess this antagonistic force that is stopping the general Miram uh alliance and going against them. So they have a uh established set group that their only purpose is defending against them, but they haven't attacked in a long time. They get betrayed, they get um the leader gets betrayed by his crew and his son takes like the brunt of that and is left alive while his father essentially sacrificed himself for to leave him alive and because they want him to um they want the techniques that they have to be that he had access to because he was just so much more powerful than everybody else. And so they scour the place, come to find out they can't find anything. Years later, um yeah, years later he is seemingly not strong at all, but when they when they come that something happens and comes to test him, he's he proves himself, and then and people are just like, What? Huh? How are you so there was nothing left here and they they I don't want to spoil how they how he gets his tech uh the technique gets passed down to him, but uh it's uh it's very it's very cool and it and it it's beautiful art, like it's gorgeous. Um and it's again it's just uh building up a really nice cast of characters that help him on his journey. And the main character is actually progressing in the issues that he has with that all the the stuff he has to overcome, and it's not just oh get stronger and now now you're stronger, and that there's no other issues, it's okay, with power comes other responsibilities and the fact that these other people don't want you to be stronger, and also you have all this other trauma and stuff you have to deal with, and the people in this world that don't believe that you're justified in what you're doing, so the the people are against you, even if you feel like you're right. So it's really it's really enjoyable.
SPEAKER_04And also I was gonna bring up that one. Let's see.
SPEAKER_03Oh, and um, other than the big oh, let's see a webtoon. I read uh quite a bit more manga than I do webtoon over the last like year or so. I've been getting more into webtoons. Um I like I generally like uh action tropes, Ishakai, um cultivation manga, cultivation, things like that is generally what I stick to in reading. Cultivation. Oh, okay, sorry. Uh yeah, cultivation is more it's it's along the same lines of uh martial arts where there is of the general trope of like you start as like this low-level martial arts, you build your inner energy, you use that to cultivate a foundation for yourself and grow stronger by fighting people like with like the qi and things like that. And so along those lines of uh martial arts type stuff like that. That's what the re that it's uh kind of like a subgenre of the martial arts because it's the tropes are almost very form are very formalaic, but it's it's it's in it's entertaining, so yeah. Um what I'm reading is uh it's called infinite leveling murmur. It's uh cultivation isakai reincarnation one. So he like crazy just a general like pop, like he lives his a full life and like doesn't really in this cult of in this world where he has to fight on and doesn't really live up to much but he because he doesn't get access to in these type of worlds, the higher born you are and the more talented you are, the more you get access to opportunities and resources. So people help you grow if you show the ability to grow faster, people help you grow faster, and if not, then you're grown. And then this one, he ends up dying on the battlefield after living his whole life, but then comes back uh as himself in his younger days, but he has a essentially a game interface in this in the same world he's living in before, and then this time it's like in the time of swords and martial artists, so no such thing as game, so he barely even understands what's going on, but it kind of like as he does more and more things by like cultivating completing quests, like it'll be like, hey, somebody just asked you to deliver milk to Miss Mary down the street. He goes and delivers milk, and it's like, hey, you just got 20 20 years worth of internal energy for completing this. Now you're just stronger just because, and it's like, oh, well, if you train if I if I uh I don't know if anybody's ever played games like um Marrowin, where the more you do an action, the more it levels up. It's the same way in this, where he would swing an axe at a tree and he would just gain levels to it, so it was like really cool, and so it's uh entertaining. And well, that's all I have on the top of my head. I'll let somebody else go.
SPEAKER_08All right, and uh so who we have next? We have uh Black McCoy. Black McCoy, actually.
SPEAKER_11I have nothing that I'm reading currently, however, um I am looking forward to um some of these potential, like um, some of these potential manga that you all are reading and some of these webtoons that you're reading like being adapted into like a viewable format. And that's all because like usually I don't pursue a lot of manga. And like usually when I do pursue manga, it's because I'm either tired of something or like I'm I really want to know more of something. Like when I first watched, when I watched the first season of Seven Deadly Sins like ages ago, I was like, oh, this was better than I expected to be. I kind of wanna know what happens next. Let me go read the manga. So I ended up reading the rest of the series from there and didn't care to watch the show. But um just I think that like I remember uh when you were talking, when y'all were talking about Chainsaw Man, and I looked at the I went and actually checked out the uh the comic. I mean, I didn't read the whole thing, but like I I looked at a few panels and like I read a couple of pages. I was like, oh shit, like this is something that I would really love to see translated to the page more, um, especially when it comes to how like dynamic some of those sequences really look. And it will, I I definitely agree, it's one of those, it's one of those manga that um really is able to create a really dynamic image of what's happening on the page through the art style. And so one of the things that I constantly worry about is the ability for that to be translated. Like I said, with Attack on Titan, like I could not read Attack on Titan after I watched the show. And so, like that kind of adaptation form the adaptation format sometimes improves it and it can also hinder it in some cases as well. So I'm generally excited for the anime potential for all of these different um titles.
SPEAKER_08Okay, and um next we'll do Say of A, actually.
SPEAKER_01Alrighty.
SPEAKER_05So, as many of you know, I love Lorolympus. I've been watching Laura Olympic, well, excuse me, reading Lore Olympus since 2019 when it debuted in Web Tunes by Rachel Smith. And um, it's about Greek mythology, uh, the love story of uh Persephone and Hades. So I love Greek mythology. Um, I also love how there's uh various interpretations to Greek mythology as well. Um, you know, I think the most common interpretation that we know of between Persephone and Hades is that Persephone was abducted and dragged to um the underworld um by Hades against her will. And then there's also other Greek interpretations that um Persephone also at the time was core, which is the goddess of spring, fell in love with Hades, but because her mother, Demeter, did not want her virgin-esque daughter to be with the king of the underworld, she kind of um banned the idea of them being together. So Persephone just willing what willingly went to the underworld and said, fuck it, I'm going to see my man. And um that kind of started the season, so to speak. Uh Hades gave Persephone um pomegranate seeds and the um the number, I think she ate four pomegranate seeds to verify to symbolize the uh changes of the season. So you have winter, spring, summer, fall. So um the times that she is in the underworld um is when it's cold in the mortal realm. And then the times when Persephone is in the mortal realm, it's spring. So it's very, very interesting. So Rachel Smith, you kind of wanted to play it like in a like a, I would say like a melodrama in a way, with Hades being the god of the underworld being a very handsome businessman, and then Persephone being this beautiful, um, young, uh coming of age woman um in the mortal realm and just kind of showing that that push with love and dealing with helicopter parents. And um, so they're trying to kind of trying to find their way, um trying to love each other. So I really like it. Um, it was my the reason why I gravitated to Laura Olympus is because in 2019, um I came back from uh surgery and I really wanted to get into cosplay again, but I didn't really have many ideas on what to do. I was on a hiatus of doing body paint because I couldn't really find like the right formulations. Um, but then I saw Persephone, she was like the first very curvy, um, full-figured woman, and she was pink. And I'm like, oh wow, fuck it, you know, I'll I'll just try cosplaying this. I didn't know it was going to be as big as it was. I didn't know so many people were actually reading Lord Olympus like they were. So that just kind of blew up into this uh worldwide uh sensation. And Rachel Smith is, I believe, like from the bestseller. She's like the top number one um uh I would say uh writer on webtoons, like the most popular. So it was pretty cool. Um, but I really like it. It's I think everybody can get a little something out of it. Um there are a lot of adult topics, um, you know, there is uh topics of rape and the psychological aspect of that, and you know, how the victim is trying to cope with it and then you know, feeling alone and and you know, you're trying to uh find the courage to talk about it with the people that you love, but if you kind of keep getting pushed back and then victim shame. So it I really like how they bring a lot of real world concepts into uh something that. You usually I'm not used to seeing. So that really uh, you know, brought me in. And um a lot of people of all ages, especially I would see a lot of um high schoolers, young adults like my nieces are are reading it and we're having these discussions. And even in Facebook, you have Facebook and Instagram and Discord, there's discussions about um the different personalities and trying to kind of bring it to real life applications and and problem solve. So I don't know if Rachel intended it to be um how it is with you know people really thinking about situations and how to cope with it. So I just think it's very beautiful and the art style is very different, very colorful, and um I love the aesthetic. So that's definitely something that I have been reading consistently for the past three years. There was another uh webtoons um that I was reading. It's called The Devil's a Handsome Man, um, which basically you kind of can see a common thread with me in the country.
SPEAKER_11It's very listening we are just friends on a podcast. That 30 session is your own business, not ours.
SPEAKER_05My kids are really telling me right now, but that's okay. Um so the devil is a handsome man. Um, I believe uh their name is hello, my name is Engel. Uh, but um it it surfaces around the underworld again being a business, which I think is fucking hilarious. So the devil is like the the ruler of underworld, but it's like a corporation, so to speak. So you have all these people in like cuples and shit. And and we think they look like regular people until you start zooming in, like one of these things is not like the other. Like this person has three eyes, but they're like wearing like a business suit. Like things is very topsy turvy, but it's it's also something that I really liked. Um, unfortunately, I think something happened to the artist because we haven't really heard from them in the past three years. So I started reading it in 2019, but they haven't had any updates. I think, you know, I think there was the artist had like a death in the family and was dealing with a lot of like um uh emotional um, I guess, struggles. So they haven't put out anything. But if anyone had ever wants to check it out, the Devil's Hands of Men is actually a very good um webtoons that um I definitely suggest for y'all to read.
SPEAKER_11That's interesting. I kind of that the description of of the the last one you you just gave, it sounds kind of like the good place. I don't know if anyone's watched the good place, but like when you see like the bad place, it literally looks like a whole office that's being run. They had meetings and shit about torture. So that that's that's interesting. I I I might sit down and read that one.
SPEAKER_05I agree, but like both Laura Olympus and the devil is a handsome man, like so in Hades is a corporation. So any so you have Sir Cerberus, you know, three-headed dog, which is like this very cute um pet to people, you know, who they absolutely always love, but hates everyone else. But like Hades is actually like a corporation boss in Lore Olympus as well, this huge, you know, skyscraper. Um, and the same thing with the devil's a handsome man, you know, the devil is a corporation boss. So it's just really funny how and I don't even know if they even knew or fed off of each other's energy because it really both came out the same year. Um, but it's just very interesting having that take. And um, you know, in mythology, uh Hades was the only nigga that wasn't a fuck boy. So um Poseidon was doing a whole bunch of fuck shit. We all know same shit. So um Hades was in general the only um, I would say, uh, male figure in a way that wasn't like a fuck boy, like he wasn't really out here turning turning women into cows and shit, like he's uh trying to run away from from Hera.
SPEAKER_11You know, which is interesting to say because it seems like corporate America really did a really good number on everybody. Like fuck this, fuck this hellish hellscape of existence.
SPEAKER_05Right, exactly. So, but um, I really I really like it. Um, a lot of my cost, I got a lot of inspiration from Laura Olympus. It kind of morphed into um that being my cosplay handle in a way that I did not intend. So um, but it's it's really beautiful, and um, it's definitely something that a lot of creators uh can definitely get uh some inspiration from.
SPEAKER_01Can you just give it a little bit of a chance?
SPEAKER_08I have one question for you. Is it just me or Laura Limbus? It seems like everybody's personality reflects the color.
SPEAKER_05Um, let me think about that. Um I noticed purple. It seems like purple is the ain't shit shape shape. Yeah, like purple is tied to like purple is tied to like selfish and legal, it seems like legal is selfish.
SPEAKER_11I've never read Loralympus, but I feel like a personal.
SPEAKER_05Uh all the characters that are purple are of royalty. So that is actually pretty a pretty good observation.
SPEAKER_08Um seriously, like every single one of the purple characters ate shit. Like it's just like how Hades is blue and he has a really deep level of depression. Like, does he know like really is like it's depression? Yeah, it's like the the way that like I I always wonder if she did it on purpose. And because after a while, it's kind of like okay, I start to think she did it on purpose because everybody's personality literally is shown in their colors.
SPEAKER_05That's true. Um that's very true, but then you could look at the yellow characters. So um the yellow characters, I guess it depends because Leto and Hera, they're both the same shade, but it could be that he's I'm sorry, that uh Zeus got a tight because he keeps fucking women that are yellow. So I don't know.
SPEAKER_03That's one thing I won't say. Zeus don't got a type.
SPEAKER_01He definitely doesn't, but the ones that he plays spirit are yellow. I noticed that. Like hair is yellow. He has favorite Laura Lupus, yeah. His favorites.
SPEAKER_05Obviously, he got a thing for yellow. Yeah, yeah, you're right. He ain't got no type. He put it.
SPEAKER_03Don't diminish my man's lust. His lust is too strong.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_12That requires discernment.
SPEAKER_01That man's for the streets.
SPEAKER_11He's creating when he is the streets. All right.
SPEAKER_01He's the damn highway for sure. Yeah.
SPEAKER_12Incarnation of the streets. He's like, my type. My type is this you my bitch, and if it's your bitch, it's my bitch too.
SPEAKER_08Terrible. Oh, everybody, that is one of the cosmic who will be going next. Over that, over that gym.
SPEAKER_12Uh yeah, it's um I'm very uh interesting. The uh way I uh consume uh media is very uh I guess uh locust like I I will I will so like ravenously just like like I'll just I'll do a whole book series. I'll do like you know, I'll I'll do like uh hundreds of hours in the game in like a in like two weeks, or I'll do I'll play a whole game series and you know, and it was similar with like uh manga, manwa, uh not so much webtoons as much more of a more um recent thing. Honestly, my first uh interaction webtoons was this with was when like uh no no no bless or noble was like jumping around for a while. Yeah, no bless, I think it was. Yep, no bless, yeah. And um, and I saw that and I was like, okay, that's that's that's that's all right, that's cute. And I clicked it, and then I had that thing where it loaded up the whole page, and I thought that was weird, and I was like, blasphemy, and I could not close it.
SPEAKER_08You just scroll down, you just scroll straight down.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I'll just kept scrolling. If then and then my I this was like back on uh my internet wasn't that good, so it was like part loading different parts and all this is bullshit. And I just I just left and I ain't come back to it until they animated it. But um, but no, I think uh so I definitely haven't read anything recently, but I would say I've read not hundreds, but uh over a hundred manga. So the um yeah, yeah, I mean it's it's it was years ago, so it's a lot of them is just a giant blur. But uh I would say uh I think the first manga that really grabbed and this is like aside from like obvious things, like I think I read a I read a bunch of Death Note that was amazing. I read a bunch of uh I went back and did uh a bunch of uh uh Dragon Ball DBZ, like the Toriyama's uh this art and line work is ridiculous and top notch, and he is who he is for a reason. Um uh I read some uh some one piece, uh Oda Busy shit. Um not not in a bad way, but it's a lot. It's a lot on these in these panels. It's a lot to read, it's a lot to look at.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, older be older like put side stories in his panels on his covers, alternate versions of shit that ain't gonna show up in the mind in the anime anytime.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, like uh could continue and whole side stories on the in-between panels, yeah. Yeah, up here's what Enel's doing. Like, bitch, I need that.
SPEAKER_11It's not important right now, no, just so you know, but but no, but y'all gonna say some shit like that, fuck around, get a side series, and you're like, What you mean a side series? The one piece it just ended with episode 2056.
SPEAKER_12But uh, but no, I think I think uh one of the first ones that really grabbed me was uh oh so eater too so dude, like I devoured that that was amazing. Uh oh, but no, so dear was after anime pissed me off, I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08No, no, I don't trust me. I don't like school asses.
SPEAKER_12I was like, that didn't end. No, it didn't. Uh and actually, no, and this was this was a similar situation with Claymore. Claymore was like, it's not Claymore isn't even necessarily uh like like quality, like from a qualitative stance, like fantastic. Like it's not the best art, is not it is not super um different from a lot of things, but it was something about like the the the style and the way that all the pieces came together. Like um, like I don't know, something about like the way these these characters was, like, I I is it's very rarely that like I was like there's like there's like emotional investment that's that is okay for a story where usually usually when I leave that story, all my you know, most of my emotions stay with were on those pages. But uh when when that bitch killed Teresa in the beginning of Claymore, I I I was like visibly I was I was so I was like you know, it was one of those things where they just they just made somebody like so like you know, you looked up to them, they were like they were just you know likable in all these ways. Use like you think about all these like you know futures and all the things they was about to do, and they were like, Oh, they ain't about to do shit. They about to do nothing.
SPEAKER_08Playboy does that a lot. Uh Playboy does that a lot, a lot, right? Like you'll see, you'll see a particular character that you fall in love with. It's like now off that dude. Wait, but he was here, but like we've been put in the story, like y'all made him a main character.
SPEAKER_12Now off him, yeah, like love, love no one, and uh, but it wasn't so often that they like made you not care like Game of Thrones. It was it was like it it was just enough that like they let you know, like nah this is this world is dangerous, you don't know tomorrow's not promised.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, they definitely gave you long enough to get attached to a character.
SPEAKER_12Um, and uh, but no, but yeah, when they was narratively done, it was like, oh, whoops, time to go. And but uh especially another thing for for for anime where like the everyone with powers were was blonde was blonde bitches with swords wearing the same outfit, the the level of uh of like detail and how unique they made each person's sword style was like they just I think they just went above and beyond because they had to, like, you know, it was it's almost like fire force, like everybody has firepowers. Like, so how do you like how how deep are you gonna go to set everyone apart? Um but like but but but these bitches was just swinging swords, so it was like um it was like Raroni Kenshin levels of like, yeah, we're all swinging sharp things, but but the minutiae uh that we go into to discern like like you know, like so even like they they'll describe four bitches who swing really fast and and and it'll all be completely different and it'll all be verbalized, it described different, it'll be just like you know, so like some bitches you can't, you know, you can't see at all. Other bitches they filling up the screen with after images, and it's you know, other bitches they tricking your brain into thinking something, and and you know, and it's actually something else, and it's only because they move in a certain yeah, you know, it's stuff that you've heard and seen before, but it's the implementation here is like really is really like high. Um, so yeah, so I think uh and I was I just started talking about it, but the the basic premise of uh claymore is like it's like uh you know midieval-ish type. Actually, that's not even true, but less the the setting looks middle evil-ish, and uh, and there's a bunch of uh uh I forget what they called the demons of monsters.
SPEAKER_08Uh there's not yoke. Was it yoke or was it something else? You're right. Yomi there you go, yeah, yummy. I knew it was somewhere a while.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I was about to say it's not yokai, but it is today. It's not yoke.
SPEAKER_08It's close enough.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, it's close enough, but yeah, but it was kind of it was pretty much they needed uh they uh uh people needed a defense against the the Yomi, so they started uh uh splicing uh Yomi into people and they start and they started uh splicing them into the guys at first because men always get shit first, and uh and and uh and when you splice the yummy into humans, they like they're uh they get they get stronger, but also the more they use the power, the more they kind of awaken into a yummy. And this awakening is akin to uh uh you know like sexual you know feelings, and so of course niggas can't control themselves. So so so men, so all the Yomi men would just bust the bust they load and would go full Yomi and they would be worthless because you can't work with a full Yomi. The the whole point is to work with it, find find the balance in this half and half. So they just so they just dumped, they just they just quit working with the men all together, and then they started uh working with girls. So they would like, you know, they would find orphans and they would take in volunteers and they would uh infuse the girls with these yomi powers. They would give them the outfit, um, which is pretty they pretty they all pretty much just look like knights. Uh something about the procedure made them all have like, you know, they had like demon uh demonish eyes and they had blonde hair. Um and they all gave them claymores, which is what what that's what the that was the name to the whole thing. Um and you follow a uh and you follow a uh uh this woman named uh Teresa. She's the you know, she's you know, she's the strongest, and they don't really go into why she's the strongest, but she's the you know, she's like she's like ranked number one, and she uh and she runs into this uh little girl Claire, and and you know, Claire wasn't super special, but it they it was like I forget the situation, but you know, she kind of saves her and then the Claire kind of sticks sticks around and uh and and they you know and they run and they run into this uh I I think it was uh y'all y'all remember that uh the bitch that clear killed Teresa.
SPEAKER_03Oh no. Priscilla. Priscilla, that's it. Thank you. You're welcome. That fucking ADHD ring, boy. That ADHD ring.
SPEAKER_12Nothing you need but worthless information, bro. I'm here, yeah.
SPEAKER_11It wasn't important, but it was there. Somebody needed it.
SPEAKER_03But if I needed to, if I needed to think of it, would it never came up, would never have been able to remember.
SPEAKER_12So like you know, so I don't I don't remember the exact situation, but I think uh it was a team, it was a team of them set out to find uh Yummy in this village, and I am and Priscilla was like on this team, and something happened and it made uh and it made like Priscilla like desert and like you know, and she quit. And and you can't and you're not allowed to quit. So then they had to go uh hunt uh Priscilla down. And they like and shit goes down and they hunt down uh Priscilla and uh and an interesting thing about Priscilla, Priscilla who I think was like uh ranked number three or four or something, but Priscilla had uh uh main character potential uh the in the like in inside of her. So when she starts like going yokai and popping off, and like and uh like Priscilla starts having uh flashback power-ups and and and uh it and she starts taking out like all these other top rate bitches, but um, but but Teresa, you know, and Teresa's like, oh that's that's impressive. Oh, okay, okay. Oh, it's too bad I gotta kill you. And you know, and so like it and Teresa like you know cuts off all this all this heifest limbs and like gets her down to her knee, and Priscilla starts begging for her life. And and to and Teresa's like, damn, yeah, I really and and in that moment of hesitation, Priscilla rips Teresa's head off. And I was like, oh no, oh no. Like and I mean like it wasn't like because usually usually like the they'll have like the bad guy, they'll like they'll have the little thought but thought bubble, like um you know, maybe I can distract, or they'll be, but like you you actually believe this bitch is begging for her life. There was no like side cam or until you had like and and and Priscilla was not like a tricky person, she was very straightforward. She she had never done anything like this before. So that like so when she was like was profusely like just not tears and snot going down her face, she was begging, and then and then sort of and and the second Teresa thought about it, so Teresa was killed. And and and like and and Claire watched this whole thing. So so and so Claire uh uh took took to uh Teresa's head and she went to the organization and she was like, Yo, I want you to I want you to take Teresa's uh you know, sales, yo kind of stuff and put them in me, and cause I need to go kill that bitch for selling. And and they was like, Okay, well, not only are you uh uh because they had they had whatever little test or levels or things that you know ranked they was like, not only are you not gonna be good at this, Teresa is not a full yokai. So putting so putting a half putting like a half and half sales in you, you now you're just gonna be like a quarter yokai. And so you know, so you're gonna be awful, but you also we need you know, we we don't say no. So it's the best of luck. So that you know, so that's pretty much how the uh how that magga starts. And that would and uh and honestly, and and it has like like I don't want to say attack on Titan levels of like oh shit, uh, but but the but the story definitely like opens up later on in the things you thought was going on, it was not at all what we wish we thought was going on.
SPEAKER_08We'll let everybody know though, it does have some berserk levels of oh shit, uh uh yeah, yeah, it does have some berserk levels of old shit there, especially golden golden age berserk, too. Not like no, yeah, not after this is before the fucking the sacrifice.
SPEAKER_02We'll say before there's quite a few triple warning on Playmore's definitely got quite a few triple warning tags.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, oh and I'll say that that will be a theme through all of mine that I say these are not for children. Uh yeah, if you have you have a weak stomach or sensitive sensibilities, do not seek any of these out.
SPEAKER_08Uh uh, you know, I second that because I have I read very little that's not dark, like and I mean like dark, like dessert, dark, dark, like uh yeah, like that shit.
SPEAKER_03But uh another good one since you brought up Claymore that uh by the same person is called uh socu no aridine Aridin. Um yeah, uh it's really good. It's fairly current too. So it came out in 2017.
SPEAKER_12Okay, so cu no ariadne. I think that means spider. Or something. Ariadne Blue Sky. Gotcha. I will put that down. Um another one. Uh, and I've and I've actually talked about this anime a whole bunch before, so I won't um go super, super into detail. Uh, but uh Vinlan Vinland saga is is is is just so it's just amazing just on all levels. It's it's like art is like um is like the berserk level, the level of detail, the the level of gore, the uh the uh the the uh the semi-historic relevancy. Like I love I love when I love when they like go into things that like actually happened and then they get and then give you like fake context for why that happened, but this context is far more interesting because niggas niggas is ripping out re tree tree trunks and swinging them at other niggas and and then and planning grand grand uh schemes that that that take course over years and hundreds of lives and shit. But um, but no, but I think I think one of my favorite things about uh about Venon Saga is like it's at the core of it, it's a revenge quest, whereas the uh the the main the main the main character uh ends up being taking care of the man who killed his father and and his and the man's like okay well you know if if if uh if you just keep coming at me like this, you you like you're you're garbage and I'll I'll just kill you. But they was like, but if you work, you know, you come, you come, you come stay with me and do, you know, work for me and do what I tell you to do, then I'll be around and every now and again, you know, I'll let you fight and you'll lose and then we'll go back to doing what we do. Uh but like the but the way the the way the whole story frames it is they the the the story like the the dude and the the the rest of the story does not care about this revenge quest. It is almost like it's very unshown in like in the way they like the like the more you go on the story, the more like fruitless it it appears in like in the way in the way this dawn dawns on the main character after he dedicated his life and survival in this, like like it and it was all and the and the in the amount that you find out that this dude like comes to like even care for the kid, it was this the their relationship is one of my favorite things and uh and that and that and that and that in that dude and who's taking care of him. I think he I think he's one of the most well-written people like ever in anything. Like he's just he he's he's so fucking smart is it and and charismatic and oh man, it's just it's just it's just amazing. Um and and I think and I think I like a lot a lot of things in that in that vein, like Ben and Saga, uh Vagabond, uh Sword of the Stranger. Um I think yeah, I think a lot of a lot of those uh are like are like uh give me like similar similar vibes. Uh uh should should I do one more?
SPEAKER_08Um you get it too, right?
SPEAKER_12I guess, yeah. Yeah, so one more. Uh uh, I think yeah, I think my next one will be uh breaker and breaker new wave. Uh these are uh Yes These are actually Manoir, uh but it was they're Korean. But but I was I was wondering if I should have said something about separating the two, but I was like, screw it, nobody's doing there's a distinction, but not a meaningful one, other than where they came from. Um but uh yeah, like uh uh similar similar to uh what Namaral was uh talking about um before is really is you know it's martial arts. It's uh it it uh it hits a lot of like similar marks, but I think the I think I think what makes Breaker Um interesting and different from a lot of things is just the sheer amount of detail and texture that they that they put into the the the levels and and tiers. Like and and they are and they are and they also like okie dokie because the main character like he's talented, but he's also ain't shit. He's very he reminds me of Gone a little bit from uh Hunter Hunter. I'm not gonna say the real story, but I guess the a lot of the focus and and really the power fantasy is on this nigga's master. Like, like this this nigga is uh um is that nigga's name? Uh what what's the silver haired nigga from uh jujutsu's name? Yeah, I was just about to say Gojo, yeah, yeah, yeah. Very, very similar to him. Like, best to ever do it. Like y'all, y'all, y'all think it, y'all, y'all think it's close. Like, it's not like the the nigga the niggas who who y'all have legends about wish they were me. Like it was like he this this this nigga is just on a whole different different level. And he was also like interesting, like what he, you know, what the things the things he knew, the things he was trying to do. Like it was the the the first the first breaker really uh really focuses on him while also setting up this uh this main character for New Wave. And and they and they pretty much like metroid, they metroid the main character at the end of the breaker, and that nigga lose and that nigga like loses all his you know talent, power, potential, and restarts, but he, you know, but he did, you know, but he still was trained by the best. So so they start they go, they start New Wave, and they uh and uh you know the mat, you know, shit, you know, shit happens to the master, he's out, and he's most he's out, he's out the picture, and like you know, and you start like this actual um just you know coming to fruition of this, like of this, of this new character. But uh I don't I I don't even think I finished uh I don't think New Wave was finished when I was reading it, and I think I I think I actually need to get back to it. And also I found the story slightly harder to follow because me and Korean names like Wong Wu-San and Ju Ju Sing. And I'm not no, no, this is a me thing. I don't there's nothing wrong with them, but the way my brain is set up, like it sounds like it sounds like like a kid made these up, and my brain will not believe that this is actual information, and like yeah, I mean this is definitely beat, but but still, like them the but we are not pro-Asian hate on this podcast at all, at all. We we we are not about to uh dedicate part of our lives to consuming baby people and then going down the people. No, this is definitely a B problem, but uh but yeah, so it's definitely hard for me to like obviously if I saw a person, I was like, okay, that's such that's such and such. But but if they like you start referencing the fourth and fifth people in a conversation, I'm like we had we we needed a wiki to open it up on another page, and sometimes it's uh sometimes we just had to assume and guess, but uh, but no, but other than that, no breaker and breaker new wave was uh was amazing. Uh y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all seem to uh recognize it. What was your thoughts on it?
SPEAKER_08I um enjoyed the hell up out of it. I'm just mad it never came back after the finished after that last year.
SPEAKER_03No, yeah, new waves. Unfortunately, new waves is not done. No, it's not done.
SPEAKER_08They left on the cliffhanger and they left it. I was like, what, three, four years ago? 2015, baby. Oh it was seven years ago. Jesus, I'm old.
SPEAKER_12Like 2012, 2013.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no, yeah, no, it was it was it was a beast, trust me. But it left on a cliffhanger in like 2015, that came back. And they talked, they talked about bringing it back multiple years, but they just never brought it back. It's pretty much gone the same way. It was like it went the way the berserk went, but nobody knows what that author is good. Uh like I don't know why the author just stopped it. Like he said, but he it went the same way as berserk and 100x hunters when it just stopped.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I'm saying I'm sensing a theme.
SPEAKER_11Don't don't bring up Hunter Hunter, please. If there was a manga that I would ever dedicate myself, I dedicated myself to reading because I knew the anime wasn't gonna be it. I I sat through all of Kurapika's thoughts, every single page of them. I was engaged.
SPEAKER_03Yo, no, all the last couple chapters were was just deep thoughts.
SPEAKER_11Deep in the succession war. I was ready to see what was about to pop off. I was ready to see Hisoka and Kurapika and Ging and Patty Stun and the and the goddamn spiders all in this big ass ship headed to the dark continent. I was ready, I was in it. Shit was I'm sorry, I need to take a minute.
SPEAKER_03We did get pages on pages on pages of just exposition dump of how his powers worked, and it was so much, it was so much he kept using it after ability. Yeah, he was like, This power takes my life force. You get the power, you get some of the power, you get some of the power, you all get some of the power. I got I got 10 fingers, bitch.
SPEAKER_11Here's what each of them do like oh hard. I need some liquor. What was this?
SPEAKER_00Say that I don't know if I could have handled that because no, for real, because even in the anime, it was like, dog, this narrator is talking way too much for gravity, like uh I so just I don't know.
SPEAKER_11Like the only time it didn't bother me, bothered me, Miss Kittles, was when Crolo and Um Hisoka finally had their fight, and Crolo disrespectfully explained to him exactly the abilities that he was going to use and still whooped that ass. Like, this is what this does, this is what this does. Then you know.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that honestly, the that's one of those ones where I was happier that I watched the anime more than I watched the anime more than the manga. I read the manga, but the anime, because of how much explanation they do, it's like, oh, I gotta read through this. Like, especially after they get to like the last art that's on the anime when he finds his father and all this stuff. Yeah, it's literally science. Like, it's just like there's so much explanation before they just stop the manga. It's like at some point you feel like you're gonna read the textbook on the power. You are, you are, and I stuck with it.
SPEAKER_11Yay, wow, every single time. Because after after he finds his dad, they enter this whole succession war arc, and like so much shit has happened. There's like a time skip, a little well, a little not a big time skip, but a bit of a time skip. And you get introduced to like 12 new characters that you gotta pay attention to.
SPEAKER_08There's a whole new power system now. It's some bullshit. It's like you got to point where I would keep up with it, and I would literally just start skipping pages if there's too much text.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, and I was even, I was even no, no, I was even more upset that it didn't finish because we saw a little bit of game in that art. And he and it's not even that no one knows, like he doesn't have a specific nan ability, he's just so good that he can copy whatever he sees, regardless of whatever type it is.
SPEAKER_08Like it's like you're watching this dude, you get a glimpse of him, and they're like, like they just it take this long ass time to explain. It got to the point where there was certain characters, I can't remember the one that um the main character, Kuroup, Kuroup, Kuropika? Yeah, Kurapika, yeah. Yeah, Kuropika. Whenever I saw his face and he's just sitting in a in a fucking uh still, I would look to see if there's a large wall of text next to him.
SPEAKER_09Because I'm skipping that page.
SPEAKER_03But then you skipped a lot of pages.
SPEAKER_08You skipped a lot of pages. That's it.
SPEAKER_11Like one day, even though I promise you, there were moments, there were so many moments where Kurapika was like talking, and then there was like a bit of action that happened, but it got interrupted by Kurapika talking in his head.
SPEAKER_08It got the boy you get like three, like three pages of him talking, and then maybe one page of action, and then another three pages of him explaining what just happened. Oh, and then he had to explain before the explanation. It was bad. Who remembered all that shit was? It's like the only and like that would just have one moment like that where it was like the tachi was explaining how he came back from the dead. That was the only time they gave a tachi at that moment. It was like, all right, cool, this is interesting. It got to the point where they were giving Kurope chapters, right? Just like like full-on chapters, like it was a whole encyclopedia you were going to understand the whole extra world.
SPEAKER_12What that was was this this this author was going through shit. Yeah, he was he was talking to you.
SPEAKER_08He was I was sitting there being like, man, where can we go back to the days of you you haka shoe when it was just hands?
SPEAKER_00It was just hands all the time. I couldn't have read that one. I couldn't, I couldn't have read a turn through because and because because we love you, I don't think we would have wanted you to.
SPEAKER_08Well, actually, that was a good question since um to get you involved in what what would bring you to read a manga? Have you like have you read a manga? If so, what was interesting about it that kept you reading it, or what would bring you in?
SPEAKER_00Um so I'm trying to think of one that I've read like all the way through. I have started a mini, like started manga and just never finished them. Um I think the one that I've probably read the most of was Agin, actually. And I was I I and I actually enjoyed it. Um I don't know, I think that it's just the darkness of it. Uh that's what kept me interested. And um also just like the way the way that things were drawn, like it just I don't know, I don't know how to describe it. Like it drew me in because it's like, oh, like, because I'm a visual, I'm a I'm I'm a visual person, like 10 times over visual. I need visuals. So when I'm when I'm like reading, I'm like looking at the illustration. Illustration is very important for me. So I guess like the darkness of Igin and and just that I think the overlawn the overall story of it was just interesting to me.
SPEAKER_12Um is that the one where they're they had the 3D animation on Netflix and they had like better than the than the anime because I found it very difficult.
SPEAKER_05I think I was talking to Mark about this on a previous um podcast that the scratchiness of the um, I guess I forgot what the hell they're called, like the mortals, right? I would say, um, or the Agen. The scratchiness, it was very hard to freaking follow in the fight scenes. Like you didn't know who the fuck was punching who, you didn't know whose head was where. Um, it just kind of made it difficult to follow. I love the story. The story was interesting, but it was just I it was like Cloverfield in that bitch. I couldn't know, I didn't know where the hell to look.
SPEAKER_11So it just made it very um, I would say not until I mean you didn't have to bring Cloverfield into your violence, it was a good movie.
SPEAKER_05I mean, I'm saying this because I love Cloverfield, but that shaky camera shit. I mean, we we all it it took me some time to get used to that.
SPEAKER_11Well, you know, it's the part of the genre.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, no, I'm yeah, I'm good on the whole genre. I'm good.
SPEAKER_11That's y'all give me steady frames, please.
SPEAKER_08I'll say this, I'll say this. Um Agin is kind of like how like how I feel about Platinum Inn. Well, Platinum N and Ajin are two things that they are the art style is done much better in manga than it is done in anime.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_08Because the way Ajahn, the way Ajahn is done in in the manga, it's more easy, it's easier to tell who's who. Yeah, they kind of look a lot alike, but it's like then it's like certain color, certain grayscales or certain ways that they might animate a particular thing that's a very noticeable thing. You'll be able to tell the difference between whose sphere is whose. Just like how in Platinum In, the way that they animate the angels and Platinum In, it makes it more existential and include it more in the background. So it really does feel like they're a part of the atmosphere and not just another character in the room. They feel like they are the room. So it's like it's just uh it's some that and that sometimes the way mangas and manuals do things or do art in comparison to how the anime may do it, it's kind of like why, like why Junji Ito is what is another good example of that. Where it's like you read his books, you read his manga, you're gonna get a particular feel from his art. You get a lot of description, not necessarily from the words, but just from the way he does details or the way he does the art itself. Another one is um the uh the artist berserk, who's just passed, God rest, so I cannot remember his name though. Um but he's another one where if you read, if you look at his art, his art has a hell of a lot of detail that yeah, you can pop huh Kentaro Miura. Kintara Miara, yes. He um his art has so much detail in it where it gets to a point there are panels where you don't need words to know what's going on, and it's better done that way. Oh that's and that's why the anime sometimes had issues, that anime sometimes had issues as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, uh yes, I think it's like um I I did so I the only reason why I watched the the agent anime is because I had read the manga and I I just wanted to see how they were gonna you know do it. Um I I I preferred the manga over the anime. I I first of all I didn't I don't like that that 3D style shell shading shit.
SPEAKER_01I didn't like that shell and fit at all. Oh god. It just didn't look well with that particular anime.
SPEAKER_00What did you say?
SPEAKER_05I said the shell shading didn't look well, didn't didn't fit well with that particular oh no no.
SPEAKER_00I didn't I didn't I didn't like it at all. That's that's one of the reasons why I haven't never watched uh what is that what is it?
SPEAKER_11That ghost in the shell thing it is. Oh you said no, she said Ruby.
SPEAKER_08Oh they're actually doing Ruby in an anime style. I don't know if anybody's seen that. Oh no, I didn't know that. I'm excited. They're making a Ruby and they're literally making an anime Ruby.
SPEAKER_11When they were like just started, I was like, this is lit, I'm hyped.
SPEAKER_00But now it's like when I first look, I I couldn't even get I'm a I'm a three episode try type person, I couldn't get through episode one looking at that shit.
SPEAKER_11I said, Oh hell no, no, I was able to get past before we summon Sucino Shogun to the fan ruby, I'll do it this time, I'll do it this time.
SPEAKER_08I watched all those seasons.
SPEAKER_00I heard good things about it, but I just could not get I cannot get now it's important to at least be able to watch the first couple of seasons.
SPEAKER_08But if I can't even get through one episode, I'm like if you get through the first season, the next three, three or four seasons are actually cool, but that last I want to say it's eight seasons altogether. That last three seasons, I think, it just like the last season is bad. And the the the two seasons before that, it it's uh it's a slow decline, but but there's a good middle point between seasons. I want to say two like Game of Thrones. Yeah, exactly. No, exactly.
SPEAKER_05So you can't do that. I mean, I can't watch it, and I don't have patience with anime because there's just way too many great options out there. So I'm with Miss Fiddles. I'm giving you like one episode, maybe two. But if it ain't hidden, I can't do it. I can't fuck with Naruto. I just can't do it at all. I can't do it. I hate it. So I tried, I gave it a try, and I'm sorry that Townslane let me watch that fucking just Naruto, not shipping, which you should have, but he let me watch Naruto, and now that's where it starts. Oh my child.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's a normal special.
SPEAKER_08That's another one. Actually, not a y'all buttons. That's another one. Um mangas, if y'all there's a lot of mangas that have been turned to animes where they do a lot of like just fillers to it. Domato is one of the infamous ones for that. But there's one even worse than that that's coming back, and that's Bleach. But now the bad part about bleach that bleach has fillers that it's mega, so it's kind of hard. Like you got filler arts. I've read through all the bleach. I had to stop. I had to stop when it got to the thousands.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, with bleach, there's whole sections where you just gotta skip.
SPEAKER_08It's not like it's not like hunter x hunter, where it's like you're skipping it because it's too much talking. It's like nah, this really has nothing to do with this story. There's no purpose in this. Like it's just like this is just code.
SPEAKER_11There's a can I bring up a piece of freedom in that? So I remember when I was reading when I stopped watching Naruto Shippudin, and I started reading it because I was like, fuck this filler. And Kakashi had that whole moment. I forgot somebody died, or something happened. He was like, Kakashi, the copy ninja is about to go wild. And I was like, finally, we I'm ready to see what this nigga can really do when he gets angry. And that manga gave me less than shit. I got nothing. No one saw it. A damn thing. All we saw is a panel, a close up of his ass, like I'm about to go off. And we never fucking go off. Was that right before you fought Toby? No, this was like before he got there. This is okay. During like the this is during like regular battlefield shit. Okay. And in the anime, he still didn't do nothing.
SPEAKER_12I was so upset.
SPEAKER_11Uh-huh. That's the author was so curatory. Not curatoriama. Um, fuck. Forgot I forgot which author. But that author hurt me very badly. Because I I I had high expectation. Because Kakashi was supposed to be a goat of the series.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_12And we never Kishimoto bitch ass can't remember. There we go. Kishimoto.
SPEAKER_11Kishimoto. Kishimoto's fuck ass just did not deliver in that moment. And instead of that little bullshit Kaguyo reveal that we did not need, I would have rather gotten more pages of Kakashi going off because somebody died that he cared about.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, they do a they did a lot of shit like that with Alcho. They had a couple they had a lot of moments like that in Alto. Bleach was bad about it, Now Joe was bad about it. Um Bleach was bad about it and make an anime. Now Joe's bad about it in anime that they have moments where it's like, all right, we're about to see some bullshit. And then it's like, go to a whole nother area. Oh, okay, that's not what I expected or what, but all right, cool.
SPEAKER_11Like, you gotta do, I know you gotta do coverage of everything that's going on.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_11Don't do something like that.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but don't do, don't just skip out of a major point that you just left off in the last chapter. Oh, wait, put some words underneath and then went to the next tip.
SPEAKER_11Before did you finish reading Platinum Ed? Yes. How did you feel about the ending?
SPEAKER_08So the ending was done a lot better than me. I though I I thought it was stupid. I thought it was stupid, and like I said, I'm not gonna spoil it for anybody because you know I don't know if anybody watches the anime, but I thought it was dumb as hell. We'll talk about that after this podcast. Um I got my issues that shit.
SPEAKER_00Uh but uh it was trash, so I like the day. I think I was like literally the only person that came to me and was like, I thought it was beautiful.
SPEAKER_08Nobody else actually I watched I was gonna say I thought it was just desserts because of who they picked to do this. I thought I was like, Oh, y'all asked in the end. All right, cool. Y'all got it. Y'all got it.
SPEAKER_12I actually watched like an hour-long video uh go just breaking down, and he and he was mostly he's mostly like trashing on particular uh things about it. But oh, mother's basement, yeah. Mother's basement, yeah. That was a really good uh video. But he actually like broke down the uh you know the the ending and the subversion of uh of things and like you know, and like and what it meant. So I thought I thought that I thought the ending sounded pretty interesting for uh for what it was. I just uh I I guess I just wish they they he didn't feel the need to jump through the hoops he did to make this not action action show.
SPEAKER_08Well to close to close this out, um, because we've been going on for a minute, I'm pretty sure people got things due. Uh and this will probably be one still one of the shorter podcasts. I would like to ask this question. I would like to ask this question. Um, in terms of like styles of manga, let's say as I asked Miss Kittle, what would get her in the manga? She mentioned Arjun. And then we've also you know gotten each person's taste as we've gone on through here. Just what is something that y'all, what is a style that y'all find would be more interesting in a manga than in an anime? What would have what was something you would find yourself more so willing to read than watch? Is the question.
SPEAKER_03Uh I'm uh I I prefer reading most anything than watching it in general.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, it's a very little anime. I'm not gonna say because I I found that I like reading, I do like reading and watching showing. But there's like like so I found that I like more um like this, like I mentioned space opera uh manga I was talking about earlier, or stuff that has more mystery and uh little horror feels to it. I feel like they're done better in manga than they're done in terms of anime. I feel like it's more of a I feel like it's like Sweet Home is a perfect example of that. I feel like sweet home is done incredibly well as a manga. Like I'm not gonna talk about the live action show. Uh it happens. Uh like I said, or I feel like anything Juju Ito, I look forward to watching his stuff. I watched his collection before, but um, I I watched his collection before and I I thought it was enjoyable, but I did not feel it had the same creep factor as his it wasn't close. Yeah, it wasn't it wasn't except for that one story with old girl with the teeth. That was the only one that yeah, but everybody else, everything else is like, eh, whatever.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, yeah, it wasn't hit.
SPEAKER_08So what is what is the style that y'all feel y'all be more interested in reading than than watching?
SPEAKER_11So I I I I think that like thriller slash like mystery is what I I would prefer to read. Like uh Sushi no shogun and I watched uh the anime Inspector, uh, I think 2019, 20, I think it was 2020. Um and I I love the show, it was beautifully animated, but I think that would have been that's something that I would have been better off reading. Uh the the as a sh as a anime, it didn't move slowly, but it was it was interesting enough to keep me engaged, but like I would have preferred to like be able to read through uh all of that at a quicker pace than watching it at the slower pace that I had it, had had it at. Yeah. So I think that as a genre, most like psychological thriller. No, no, no, psychological thrillers I can watch. But I think things like Inspector, I could I'm as far as how Tomodachi game is going with these first few episodes, I can watch it, but you know, reading it would be cool too. I think I was something I could like preferably read. So some psychological thrillers and some just kind of like and most, if not all, mystery would be two genres that I think would be better off um reading than watching for me.
SPEAKER_00So I heard um Tama Dachi Game was better as a manga anyway. Um especially based off of these first three episodes. I mean, I'm enjoying it, but I already heard that it was it's way better as a manga. Um but so for me, when it comes, I feel like it'll probably be it'll come down to what I what I would read like regularly, and and that I'm I'm leaning more towards magic or fantasy type type deals. Um like like uh you know, like the Harry Potters and the the Percy Jacksons, like that type of stuff. Like I I'll read the shit out of the shit like that. Um so um I think I and I think I would I would probably fall into I think I could probably read like a a survival like death game type deal. Um I think that would be interesting to read. So yeah, I feel like I feel like my my regular reading would probably be the same as manga.
SPEAKER_05Um I would say Berserk is a great example to use that was much better in manga form. Um it gave you that gritty, like hopeless feeling, um, while also showing how vast uh this kind of like I would say silent hill world type is in a way. Like um, you know, you have this outfit outside world, or I guess um before piercing the veil into the into the supernatural. Like I feel like the the manga did a great job with that. The manga did a great job with the violence um reading it. I've I've never seen anything that had that type of graphic violence and sexual content all in one, you know, one one. I think maybe even the first couple of chapters, it was just kind of wild. Um, you know, they tried to do the um the anime, which I think was supposed to be for an introduction of sorts for people to continue reading the manga, but it didn't hit the same. It didn't hit the same with the paheila, it didn't hit the same with Griffith, it didn't hit the same watching it versus reading it. Reading it was just so fucking graphic.
SPEAKER_12Which I like the 3D anime or the original.
SPEAKER_08No, no, we don't talk about the original, you talk about the I know exactly what it is.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, we don't, we don't, we don't talk about that.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_08Well, the movie, so the movies are good. The golden age are good. Yeah, if you want to try out, they're only on the golden age, but they're really they're really done well. They're yeah, they're not done as well as the manga, but they're close enough to give you a good, to give you what you need to go on and read everything after the golden age.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, I have to definitely mean the movie that was like from like the 90s, like the original.
SPEAKER_12No, not no, they made a 3D movie that had a 3D movie. It actually came out before that.
SPEAKER_08It's actually not bad. It's not bad.
SPEAKER_12No, it's good, it's good.
SPEAKER_08It's really good. Like it's it's but like I said, it's only on the golden age. So pretty much like how how that original anime, when that came out, that was talking about the golden age as well. This is giving you the whole golden age art, which is I want to say everything up until like three issue three, no, issue like 290 or 330 or something like somewhere in between that, where it's like it ends with the sacrifices and everybody, you know, pretty much getting white. So it's like, but um, and and what led Griffith to become fenol, I think it is. Um so it was it's it's give it a shot. For anybody who wants to get into the the anime of the manga berserk, but they don't want to do the 2016 or 17 anime, which is understandable, do the movies on the golden age, the three movies on the golden age, you can find them on Netflix. Go through those three and then read from there, yeah, and you'll it's way more enjoyable.
SPEAKER_05I'll definitely have to do that because the first um, I guess, uh anime was the original one that you know that came out, I think, in like the 90s. Um, but that was only because I was introduced to the manga first, and I'm like, oh, you know, it'll be interesting to see um, you know, how this looks like in motion. Um, but yeah, for sure. I I love violence. I'm not a violent person.
SPEAKER_12I love these healthy outlets.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'm not I'm not a violent person, uh, but I just love seeing gore. It's it's I don't know. It's something that just is I'm very intrigued by it. And I feel like when it is uh illustrated, they can put so much detail into it. I I see more effort, and I think um they don't have to worry about too much censorship as well with that. That's why when I saw berserk, I was like, fuck. Like you saw when you saw people getting into some interesting situations, it was it was very guttural versus like you know, watching. I think they have so much red tape they have to follow that they have to even censor the bad shit that you know their version of oh, this is radio. No, berserk is NC NC17 all the way.
SPEAKER_08So a lot of people worry about um chainsaw man too. Yeah, for that same exact reason. What you what you're saying with Berserk falls to Chainsaw Man and Fire Punch is another one.
SPEAKER_05I never seen that one. I'm gonna have to take a look at a look at uh Chainsaw Man. Uh Devil Man Cry Baby was surprisingly very dark, which I liked.
SPEAKER_08I don't know if that's a manga as well, but I yeah, fucking it's like the manga, yeah, the manga is the manga's older. The old is an older style manga. It looks like Astro, it's like a dude that made Astro Boy made uh the manga. But it's think about that type of art style on acid. Oh, yeah, on that straight acid, straight acid and like eight balls all day.
SPEAKER_02Or a couple of throoms in the way, not good trip, bad. Yeah, not good trip either.
SPEAKER_05Not all bad trip. Wow, so I I don't know, but I I think I like that art style um for sure. Uh I don't really uh that berserk, and then also I would say romance, and that's something I definitely don't watch either. But uh Laura Lip is kind of like changed that perspective. It's if it's romance, it has to be like it can't be this middle school, high school bullshit. I need to see adult shit.
SPEAKER_08No, it's gonna be a rom com. So you can't do rom coms, is what you say.
SPEAKER_05No, not at all. I can't, I can no, I need you need to be almost on the edge of hentai. Like that's entirely on the precipice. No, I'm down with you.
SPEAKER_08I agree.
SPEAKER_07I agree with it. Put it out there, though. Story is right, like we're gonna.
SPEAKER_05You know what I'm saying? So, like, I mean, hell, it it could it could be a hentai with great story plot. Like, I'm cool with that, but that's it just has to be on that mature level for me. But I've noticed that I could do romance with like I I guess kind of sides of life in a way, but I prefer romance with some type of mysticism for sure. Like, I can definitely read that.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I I I like I like that you brought up uh berserk because I I think my answer's a bit more uh I guess uh you know nuanced. I think the I think one of the biggest issues with uh any any adaptation, especially an adaptation uh of somebody who was, you know, but like you know, somebody who's like so-called like you know, like a genius or the best to ever do it, to it it is incredibly hard to filter that through another team or another talent and then extract the same amount of like goodness, like you know, you you it it will be hopes always.
SPEAKER_08Um I have hopes because who's doing because I found out who's doing it, who might be taking over for, but I have hopes.
SPEAKER_12Oh no, and then that's and that's that's when you get lucky because then you get because if you like if you go genius and you filter that through another genius who is good who is fantastic for that media, then you get another fantastic what the fuck thing that you wouldn't have gotten if that original person is good. There was, and then this new person is it, but that but then it's like but but the everyone doesn't get that that magical land part.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that kind of caught me off. That was a good that was a good mix, but I found out who might be doing it. It's like his best friend and they've known each other. They they both do manga, they've known each other since childhood, and he's helped out with previous ones. It's like, oh okay, okay, he's a good hater.
SPEAKER_05That's my backdog. Oh, okay, I'll be all right. Yeah, but I was worried because I was, you know, and I think like a lot of companies, um, when uh I would say uh the creator dies, like you have Alexander McQueen, you have um, you know, uh Steve Jobs, um, you have a lot of people who had like I would say collaboration ideas. So they bounced off ideas, they know where their minds are going, so to speak. And I think that's the only reason why you can have either a company or uh an anime or a manga continue because um even Miyazaki, like Miyazaki um works with Studio Ghibli. So, you know, on when that unf unfortunate day passes, um, and nothing will ever be like Miyazaki, but he does have a team that is inspired by his work. And I think that they will kind of try to pass the the mandal to the next person to kind of try to at least have some type of inspiration based off of these amazing people because they're not gonna be here forever, unfortunately. Like what would happen with Berserk, like his shit was just iconic. There's nobody like him. But you know, it's really, I'm really happy to hear that there is somebody that's going to continue his work because there's always an apprentice, because you just never know what will happen. And you know, you have these fans, generational fans, and even that, you know, they keep passing on, like people from even Marvel. You have people from uh our grandfathers, our great-grandfathers, these are people that have been following things from like the 40s and 50s. That writer, that that creator is not gonna be here now. So that's why they always have a team to kind of continue the work, which I always think is like very smart to do, um, unless you know they also want to just kind of take their legacy with them and they're immortalized that way as well. So it's just very interesting how people kind of like, you know, continue with inspiration so that um we all can kind of keep enjoying it, you know, the next generation and so on and so forth.
SPEAKER_12Uh yeah, nope, that's that's that's great when it gets to happen. I think, I think if uh uh yeah, no, I think I think that's great when it gets to, I guess when you're actually good to work with and you do like get to share like your visions and the way you do things and all that. And and not only are are you like that that open with your team, but also you get to do this long enough to where people grew up on your stuff and then they get into the industry and then you hire them. Like, you know, like that was like that was one of my favorite things about like uh the final fantasy like remake, like the the amount of like young people who worked on this who grew up on the original and dreamed of doing this, and now they're doing this, and like and that's how into this project you know they are. So uh that's uh that's uh that's what's like really interesting about just like legacy projects. And it's like yeah, and every you know, when everyone just gets to you know take part in the in the dream and this thing that like became so much bigger than like uh one person, but uh but yeah, so so get getting uh I I I think to simplify my thing, I I I want you uh I I would I like I like anime where where if uh if if you have a diamond in the rough, then I want you to if you are taking care of that and putting that much work into your adaptation, then I'm interested in it. But but if you're taking something amazing and y'all just had and it just had to get animated, but then y'all couldn't get this studio and you couldn't get this studio and and and so it just ended up over here and y'all had to hurry. Yeah, I don't need that. Y'all can keep it. I'll I'll go read. Um but uh so it's kind of like you know, if it's it if if you put in the time and the and the money to uh to do what you need to do, because it's definitely certain things that you can only do in that medium. Uh and uh, you know, because I mean because I think like the basic answer, like definitely, like if I'm looking at something that has really good really good action, I'm definitely, I definitely can't wait to go see it animated unless you ruin it. Now it's ruined forever. Uh but but uh but but uh no, I definitely uh I definitely can't wait to see like most most like action are shown and things uh animated. Uh and let's matter, I think um record of Ragnarok uh fantasy.
SPEAKER_03Animate that I don't remember that getting animated. Yeah, yeah, it never happened. Keep that in your mouth, too.
SPEAKER_12It never happened. That's uh that's the that's the interesting thing. I don't know. I remember them cities flying up real hilariously.
SPEAKER_09So I don't know if I remember that was the best moment of that whole show for me. That was what everybody talked about.
SPEAKER_12It was it was hilarious. See, the assumption uh for when you go to another.
SPEAKER_11They even gave that bitch a whole figure.
SPEAKER_12Like I mean, that figure was that was was just there, but the the big assumption for where you're gonna go to a manga to anime is that you're gonna fill in the blanks of uh of the manga panels to to an anime, and you're gonna and you're gonna animate the rest of this world. The uh the at the regular Ragnarok anime did not animate shit.
SPEAKER_08They actually took stuff away. Like that whole Zeus, that Zeus and Adam fight was worse in the anime than it was in the mega. And I think that's what really astonished me. Yeah, was that when your action scenes aren't as good in the anime? You did something wrong, like all the way.
SPEAKER_12Like, yeah, yeah, no, 100 100 100%.
SPEAKER_11Like, they I kind of want to go look because I remember being discuttles and watching that shit.
SPEAKER_12No, no, if you if you didn't know better, then like, yeah, if you you the few a few things you'd be like, okay, no, that's hype. But it was, but it was literally like if you go, if you read that manga, then go watch the anime, it'll be like y'all didn't fill in any of these blanks.
SPEAKER_08In fact, y'all might have taken some like this moments where it's like y'all took some stuff away. Like, uh, the the Thorn and um was Lubu. Was it Lubu? Yeah, yeah. Thorn Lubu, that was that was uh that they dumbed that down a little bit from the manga. They definitely dumbed down the the Zeus and Adam fight. That was should have been way better than what it was.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, because that should be hype as fuck. That was hype and shit. Like I look forward to that for the ages, yeah.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, um, who else? They uh the Poseidon versus Poseidon versus uh what's his name?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, that samurai.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, that that was that was a good fight as well. But like I said, I didn't at that point I stopped watching the anime altogether because when they fucked up the Adam Zeus fight, I could go no further. You know, like I could not carry on.
SPEAKER_12The only reason I pushed through was was so I could get Jack the Ripper.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah, Hercules. They stopped directly before that fight, and I'm like, that's what they but they knew that that's the reason because I wasn't gonna wait for that fight. I would not go to that fight.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I don't think there was him up for the next season. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_08I'm good. I'm good. I want to see that fight animated, I do, but I just don't after what they've already done. Like the sad truth is the Jack the Ripper and the Hercules fight, they might be able to do better because of how much mental and psychological play that was, more so than just the action itself. Yeah, but when they fucked up that Zeus and Adam fight, that was all action. There was no mental, there was literally action, and like who was gonna hold out that?
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I I hope I hope the anime did better than how we feel it did, and I hope it, I hope they have more budget and and and and fucking Netflix is cutting shit back, so that's probably not likely.
SPEAKER_08But yeah, they probably have that. That's if they come back now because of the sheer fact they cut the animation because I was not high on the list for what I would assume.
SPEAKER_05I thought it got confirmed for season two this year.
SPEAKER_08I heard they were cutting down animation. Uh honestly, if they confirmed that for season two, we still don't have a dragon prince, we definitely got a problem. Um, but like my actually did go way deeper to that, but yeah, like if I hope they do do it better because the next couple fights coming up in that are like the the Hercules and um Jagger River fight are incredibly good. The uh uh what was the other one? It was uh the sumo wrestler.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Shiva didn't fight yet.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, no, Shiva was supposed to Shiva was going to fight Adam, but Zeus stopped Shiva from doing that.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, no, Shiva fights Shiva fights a sumo wrestler, and it is a good that's a good fight. That's a really good fight as well. In fact, most of the record of Ragnarok fights are done incredibly well in terms of manga, which is why it's like it's literally one of the easiest animes you can make. It's just a tournament arc. That's it.
SPEAKER_11It's literally like it is literally just a tournament arc turned into an anime. I was like, oh, this is all this is. I okay, I can yeah, exactly. It's like I can suspend some thought process for this.
SPEAKER_08Turn your brain off, turn your brain off, watch some good fights. You turn your brain off, watch a good fights, see some, you know, some uh some unless you animate the fights, exactly.
SPEAKER_12And and that weird ass fucking beige uh uh flashback shit.
SPEAKER_08They was yeah, I heard about that.
SPEAKER_11Um that was uh yeah, it was it was it was strange, but I was like, okay, well, you know, I'm not that invested in it.
SPEAKER_12Is this a college project?
SPEAKER_11No, though.
SPEAKER_12Y'all got the interns?
SPEAKER_11College students be making some bomb shit.
SPEAKER_08That was that was not that was not.
SPEAKER_05I'm enjoying it though. I think maybe it's I'm glad that I have that ignorance of not ignorance is bliss sometimes.
SPEAKER_08It is bliss. That is that is a good thing. That is a good thing. Yeah, like sometimes reading man, that's one thing that backfires reading the manga and going to anime is that you read the manga and you have particular moments you look forward to, and then it's like they don't if they don't deliver on those moments or if they underperform, if they don't deliver at all or underperform on those moments, it hurts. But then you have moments where it's like soul eater, and it's like like when you deliver, you missed out on half of fucking manga. It's like you just you just deliver on half the manga, or you got people like uh everybody that watched um Promise Neverland. I feel sorry for that. Oh my god, yeah, that's another one that don't exist.
SPEAKER_11You act me one time when you brought up Hunter, and then you brought up Promise Neverland, and I were so distraught.
SPEAKER_08I waited, I waited until I was done. What to when I heard the reviews, I was like, thank you.
SPEAKER_00But the first season, absolutely they did that to the second, like it just it just makes zero sense how they did that for the second season, and I'm like mind blown.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like especially when, like, you know, you know that there must be uh a manga, but you're you're just interested in the anime. And if you're an anime watcher and you know that there's shit that's missing, that's how you know it's bad. Because the principle right, I don't like it.
SPEAKER_11And the more insulting part was they showed you the shit that they didn't put in there. I've never seen an epilogue. You don't want to, you will be upset.
SPEAKER_05I've never seen like an epilogue in like a friggin' anime before.
SPEAKER_03It was so what's crazy is that it's not even like it was a crap arc or that they skipped it because there was no good content. It was it was a one of the most solid arcs in the show.
SPEAKER_08They literally skipped the whole second half without they literally gave y'all snippets of the second half of Promise Neverland, which everything was solid at that half. Everything was solid. They could have there were so many twists and turns, they could have showed you that they had just taken their time. They had enough information to give you two more seasons, three more, three more. I think if they done three, they would be too much.
SPEAKER_07Stop, just stop.
SPEAKER_11Please, please stop because we're like trying to rationalize. Why would they do this? They have to like not have a budget or something.
SPEAKER_00That is a that I need to read. There you go. Yeah, that's definitely it.
SPEAKER_07Go read that. Go read that.
SPEAKER_00I learned that and got bam bamboozles.
SPEAKER_08And I even say I'll even do you this this favor. You don't have to if you watch the first season of Promised Neverland, I don't think you really have to do read too much of the manga that's left over. Like it's like you like that takes you a good halfway through the manga, and they do it well enough to where you're not really missing anything. There's no context clues or anything like that that you're missing. You can literally pick up where the second season would have started, but I don't think they did. I think they actually skipped a bunch of stuff even for the start of the second season. But you know what? Yeah, it was bad. Like I'm thinking about like, yo, y'all got fucked.
SPEAKER_11Uh and not in the fun way, in the worst way. No, not in the best way.
SPEAKER_01They thank you for deal though.
SPEAKER_08It was nothing pleasant about that. Nothing pleasant about that. I'm sorry, man.
SPEAKER_05But Bleach did the same thing, and I didn't read Bleach, but I I I enjoyed the manga. And like I you know, I like I said, they finished it with Aizen perfectly. Like, I've never seen an anime that continued where they didn't need to continue, like they needed to just stop there. You you got Eisen. All right, fantastic. Thank you so much. What the hell is this Fulbright arc? And I heard it wasn't even canon.
SPEAKER_08That is in the manga.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05It's not like canon. Is it is it actually like canon for like the anime?
SPEAKER_12That that happened. The problem is the full bring arc wasn't the end. The the arc that they're doing now is what happened after the full bring arc. But the full bring arc was so bad it it it it it it shadowed the show. Oh, and and how they handled ice.
SPEAKER_08Like bleach, like the like honestly, bleach as a manga and as an anime could have ended with ice. They could have stopped it right there. They didn't have to, at least they didn't have to continue.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, yeah. No, no, I wouldn't say they didn't have to because they too many too many questions are answered by this last arc. They could have left the four for the album. Uh, most definitely, most, but yeah, they definitely could have left that out. But uh, but as a whole, they definitely they they definitely should, they definitely should need to do this last art, which which is why it's coming back because that's so so many people read it and was like, oh, this needs to happen.
SPEAKER_08But here's the thing now. Here's the thing, I want to give people a warning about the thousand-year art. There's no spoilers, but there's gonna be so many ass pulls of the thousand year art. Like, let's go like this. I read the thousand year art, I got tired, and I just stopped. I just stopped. I waited months.
SPEAKER_12That's cool. I was I I read the whole thing too, and I was about it. So let's let's it's not nearly as long as as should be like they were assigned.
SPEAKER_03I don't feel like it was a bunch of ass pulls, but I do feel like very minor, like the the things the way they foreshadowed it was super subtle in a lot of this stuff. It just was super subtle, and it was just like, oh, you missed it, you missed it. Chuck Titty.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, most of the stuff was like was like brought up or set up at some point because I had because I had my mental notepad and I was like, all right, y'all brought up this, this, this, this, this, and this. And I was checking them off. And I'm like, okay, okay, we did that. Oh, that's handled. Got you, got you. Uh oh, I didn't think you was gonna remember that. Okay, okay, we good. And we funny part about it.
SPEAKER_08I'm gonna watch, I'm gonna watch the bleach one because I do want to see that shit animated. That's gonna be so cool. I want to see a shit animated.
SPEAKER_12Bleach is always also just really pretty to look at. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That that was his whole his whole fucking background. That nigga didn't even want to write nothing. He just liked the draw, and they just made they just made that nigga look up there.
SPEAKER_08But he added a story because he had he added a story just because he had to. If he could just draw that shit out, let it play out, yeah.
SPEAKER_12The editor's like, no, you gotta do more. Like, really? Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_08Give me that adaptive, give me that napted. I make something real quick.
SPEAKER_12So I so I mean, so if that's what you mean by Aspore, then uh definitely I think half the story is an ass bull.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, the half the story is an as bull, but no, some of the way some of the ways they bring powers out is the way it's ass bull, right? Yeah, you know what I'm talking about. You know what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_12I think what you talk about is one of my favorite parts. Probably that's all right.
SPEAKER_05And I'm okay with that because like you know, we had so many people that were invested in reach, and for how they ended it, like, yeah, we've been begging for a continuation because you're like, there's no way in hell this is how how it ends.
SPEAKER_12Like, no, this can't end this way, and and it and it didn't because Isa is in a chair.
SPEAKER_05Right. So you know like it can it can be as long as it needs to be because us bleach fans have been waiting for literally friggin' 10 years, so they can take their sweet ass time and owe us, give us what the hell they owed us to begin with. So I don't even mind to be honest. Like I want I want validation of every single year that passed that I didn't get some bleach content. So they can take their time and and show me all the wonderful aesthetics because I'm I'm not even at you about that, you better get all that and hype.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I'm excited.
SPEAKER_05I'm already getting getting ready. My uh my bleach cosplays in in progress. So I'm very, very excited for Blue.
SPEAKER_11Oh I can't wait to see you as a bottle of Clorox. That'd be amazing. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_05Oh, oh no, I'm talking about um I know maybe I'm just but yeah, so we'll see. We'll see how I hope I hope it it really does deliver because um it's either gonna be wonderful or it's gonna be trash. And I just hope that I mean shit, y'all y'all got a whole entire decade to fix your shit.
SPEAKER_12I mean, I mean, I think I think it would be I think it'll be somewhere in between that, but I think as a full experience, especially a visual one, I think you'll be satisfied.
SPEAKER_10Okay, well we shall think okay. We say we're gonna get in 30 minutes 30, 45 minutes ago.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, but the funny part is that's the reason why I started that subject when I did, because I was like, all right, let this run for a hot minute. Uh so on brand for us. So on that note, everybody give out your socials.
