Welcome back to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast, everyone. We are here this week to give you our synopsis, our review, our anticipation, our what we think is going to happen at the end of this shit. It is time for us to give you our peering into the dists of the dunes of this coastal region. It's not a coastal region. Anyway, so we're looking into Moon Knight, uh Disney slash Marvel's Moon Knight, uh, that you can catch on uh Disney Plus or all of your you know secondhand websites, uh, where uh we have been watching through this uh very interesting storyline uh these last few weeks, uh, as you know, Marvel Disney has been doing with all of their uh straight to TV shows. Um uh so we want to give our synopsis. I have a couple of panelists here that are gonna join me in giving our feedback about what we've seen, uh, starting with the Black McCoy.
SPEAKER_01Bonjour.
SPEAKER_03We have Dr. Zell of Shampoo Bracelets. So we have Kaze Shinryu. Going ahead. And then, of course, myself, Shuchino Shogun, your favorite moderator. Uh, so what do we think so far as a collective? As a from episode one to I think we're episode five right now. Um and I believe the last episode, uh, believe the the black and court told me earlier, uh the last episode debuts this week. So uh what do we think about what we've seen so far? They're an all-talk at once.
SPEAKER_00I think the show's been really interesting so far. So one of the things that I had to like really like go back and look over was the pacing. And one that's you know, one of the things that I do enjoy about being able to binge certain shows is that some things are able to, I'm able to get a better sense of what the overall like uh perspective is of the show that we have. And I'm not gonna lie, it was kind of disorienting. It wasn't disorienting at first. I actually really loved the first episode. I wasn't a huge fan of like the last couple of minutes of the first episode, but I did enjoy it overall. And so as the show progressed, I tried to like really hone in on who are we like really following in the show. Like, not in so much who we're following, but like whose perspective are we taking? And it the obvious answer is of course like Mark and Steven, but like I was trying to discern like, are we taking some degree of an omniscience standpoint, or are we like hybridizing our perspective of Mark and Steven alongside with you know us as viewers, right? And so the way in which we experience the show um deaf is disorient, not disorienting, disjointed in some ways, but it's intentionally disjointed as I look at it, because like that is how Mark and Steven like experience each other and experience one another. So, like the after I was able to get over that hump and like really clarify that point for myself, the show became a lot more cohesive for me. Um, especially in the the fourth and fifth episode. Whoo, the fourth and fifth episodes were those were intense. Um, but we'll get to that later, I guess. But yeah, though those were my like initial initial thoughts.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, I guess I was in a uh uh similar similar place. Uh I wasn't even sure how to uh um articulate it right, but uh, but nobody I think I think that was a good point. I think they uh uh I th I think there might have been a consist cons maybe consistency issue with oh we wanna we wanna we we want to show you the world through uh you know Mark and Stevens' eyes, but also you know, we're gonna jump out and show you all this other stuff that they have no idea what's going on. Uh so and you know, and I think usually when they uh when they use techniques like that, usually like there's an effect or just just something to let you know, like, oh now you're experiencing things as this character, versus like, oh now we're gonna go back to the right, you know, your normal watching experience. Um so yes, I think that was that that might be one of the reasons why I was kind of uh you know uh uh weird, you know, kind of weird at first. Uh actually they they have a they have a similar uh similar thing with with what they did with uh Legion, but I think they're more consistent and they actually go way get way weirder uh over there, which makes sense because Legion's much weird, a much weirder character than Moon Knight. Um which I know is hard to believe, but it has more episodes more than six episodes, I'm sure. Um yeah, about double that, I think. Uh but um but no no, I've definitely been um enjoying uh enjoying the ride. I've I've all I've always uh appreciated what's the actor's name? Um Oscar Isaacs. Oscar Isaacs. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've appreciated Oscar and uh pretty much everything I've seen him in up till now. Um I'm surprised he has the I was surprised to see that he had the range to pull uh you know pull this off like convincingly. Uh like I I you know I'm I'm mostly I mostly believe that you know Mark and Steven are you know good different different entities. Um yeah, no, everything's most I I've I had a few uh iffy parts concerning like uh uh Harrow. It's it seems like it seems like the world kind of bends over uh slightly and becomes a little bit stupid so he can get away with what he gets away with. Um but but aside from that, I like again I enjoy uh Ethan Hawk. I think I think you know he brings the right amount of uh you know gravitas and and uh charm to uh you know to to you know make a successful villain. So uh and uh and I and I've enjoyed uh con shoe too. His uh I like his prose sometimes and he's an asshole. So yeah. Uh Dr. Quinzel.
SPEAKER_05Um so when we first watched Moon Knight, um I guess Mark had already explained the the back and forth on multiple personalities. So at that point for me, I was trying to figure out whose body did it really belong to, I guess in the beginning. And then it also kind of reminded me of that Tom Cruise movie. You remember the movie where um they will punish you before you did the crime?
SPEAKER_02Yes. A minority report.
SPEAKER_05Yes, thank you. So I was kind of like, is this gonna be something like that? Because the way you're talking about the one he's trying to revive, that's kind of it seems like what she's doing. Um but outside of that, those questions, um, I've enjoyed Moon Knight. I think it's one of the for me, I think it would be in my top of Marvel series that I've seen so far. Um, but I do agree with Gwen and Kaze's perspective on the show as well.
SPEAKER_03Uh so uh from what you all have said, I think uh a lot of the questions that are being asked are I feel like they're doing a lot of that on purpose. Like, for example, the Black McCoy was talking about how uh a lot of the beginning stages were disorienting. And I feel like that was done initially uh on purpose initially. Uh I felt like not that I well, no, I uh 100%. I feel like we were supposed to, you know, figure out, okay, we're living this life with Stephen. He's, you know, fading in and out of his own consciousness, um, you know, trying to figure out exactly what the hell is going on. And, you know, we're on long of the ride. And then of course, all of course, there's his voice that comes to him, and uh, and then, you know, the uh the you know, the uh the harrowing figure of uh consu uh that appears to him on several occasions, and we're like, okay, so you know, it's consu inside of his head, but then eventually we find out no, it's it's a whole nother person, a whole nother existence inside of Stephen's head. Uh, and as we progress and we start learning more and more, we're like, wait a minute, there was this whole this for me, I was like, this whole entire person is living in a completely different life. Like the only thing we've gotten from Steven is that he missed a couple dates and he works at a museum. But you know, Mark has a wife, has memories, has, you know, trips that he's been on, and people that know him and all different types of things. So for me, I was like, Why is Steven's life so tame? Or is this supposed to be almost like a um I almost said Bruce Wayne, that's not who I mean, but uh for uh oh, there it is. Um, a Clark Kent Superman type of thing where Clark Kent's life is so dismal, so you know, and I don't know anything about the Moon Knight um comic books. I didn't read any of them. I wanted to come into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with uh uh uh with or tele television universe, whatever, uh, with a completely blank slate. I wanted to be completely uh, if not surprised, just introduced to this blankly. And then I'm I was planning on after the show was over, going and reading the comics. So, you know, I I didn't know anything about Mark Spector or Stephen Grant, anything like that. Uh so it was it was interesting to kind of go week by week and see this evolution of these two beings inside of this body um all the way up until uh the current episode. Um, I completely, well, we'll talk about this next, but uh I completely and utterly was annoyed uh by the internet's reaction uh to the room full of Egyptian gods. Um that really annoyed me. But we'll talk about that later.
SPEAKER_05I didn't even read the internet's reaction because you know some people just need to shut the fuck up. I guess how it is. Like some people just need to shut the fuck up. Like, I don't know why y'all think they get Egyptians looked one way when they really did not like there was a there was a variety.
SPEAKER_03They were avatars, like exactly they were avatars, like there were so many different reactions. People were saying, you know, none of these people are Egyptian. Some of these people were saying, you know, uh uh oh, oh, is that uh is that um fuck not for that name.
SPEAKER_05Avatar was meant to be like like avatar is meant for them to blend into society, completely on God level all the time. So in order to blend to society, you're gonna have different shades, you're gonna have different people. Like stop being retarded.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, completely from different places. They're not supposed to all just be chilling in Africa, you know, living their lives, they're supposed to be anywhere. Uh, because the Egyptian gods were not although they were uh the gods of Egypt, they also were the gods of life and death and uh uh and harvest all over the world. So, you know, imagining them in only one place would be pretty foolish. I mean, that's like imagining that the gods from other mythologies are only in their uh their initial countries where the language is spoken. They're they're not.
SPEAKER_02Um but uh also even if even if their concerns were only in uh only for Egypt, uh you you gotta you gotta leave your house right to get shit done. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it's it's forget about that um that omnipart that comes with being a god.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh, thank you. That that's that's that's such a good point. Like it was very, very obnoxious to like read, and I try my best whenever I am watching these shows to not look at anybody's comments. But you know, when you get on your social media and you scroll a couple of seconds, um, and you you know, people are having like an all-out war talking about wasn't that bask in the room?
SPEAKER_00And I'm like, so that's the that should annoyed the fuck out of me. And it's like it and it's not like it was an Easter egg, it's not like it was uh, oh, it was it was no illusion, it was nothing. Like they literally did a roll call of everyone in the room, and even if you weren't sure, you know what you can do? You can look at the fucking credits, and you know what else you could do? If you don't want to look at the credits, you can go check IMDB and see who was in the episode and who they were. Yeah, like it's like it was literally like it's like Kaze and I always say, like, one of the things that our community is not good at is uh comprehension and literacy. Because if you literally it wasn't even a hard thing to pay attention to, it was right there.
SPEAKER_05That's not saying if you want to hide something from black people, put it in a book. It wasn't even in the book. It was on the TV, it was right there in front of it. I'm sorry. I'm saying if you can't understand and comprehend that, like, I mean, come on. I get with just what it's just like problems in our community, right?
SPEAKER_00We're just gonna add that's like it, like I I I don't I don't I don't even want to, I don't want to I don't want to even give it that much gravitas in terms of an issue, it was just stupidity of not paying the fuck attention of right what was right there in front of you. It wasn't hidden, it wasn't, it wasn't, it wasn't missed, it wasn't like veiled in some grand MCU mystique. It was pun intended, it was literally right there. That's like if I counted to one through if I counted one, two, three, and four, and you're like, oh, six and seven and eight are in there too, somewhere. Bitch, I I counted one through. But I didn't need those. How did you get to these other numbers? We're nowhere near there. You saw a statue of a cat head, and you're like, ooh, boss. First of all, right there are other cat, there are other cat deities in the entirety of our own regular human history, more or less in the MCU. Let's let's it was a dumb thing to try and talk. It was a dumb thing to have to like correct people about because everyone was so dedicated to it. And I guess that was like, and I it bothers me because it's like I know we all love Black Panther, I know we all enjoyed what we enjoy what Wakanda is and how it was portrayed, but but let's let's calm down. Like let's try, let's it's like trying to over it's like over-theorizing. Like you, you like you didn't give yourself anything to work. They gave you what to work with, but you somehow jumped far beyond what was actually there. Like if it was if it if if the if uh if boss's name was there, then cool, but boss's name was not there. No one even mentioned Bost, no one said anything about Bost, no one spoke to Bost, no one said Bost's avatar is X, Y, and Z place. Was not listed in the name of Gods that were in that room, wasn't even listed in the fucking credits for the episode.
SPEAKER_03You know, people don't read the credits, just like a Marvel movie.
SPEAKER_00They said through the credits and you gotta read, right?
SPEAKER_04That's what we just read.
SPEAKER_02I mean, yeah, I think it, I think it, I think it feels like uh it's kind of I th people are really they're they're over they're overly excited and guessing like where all the links and all the connections are gonna be. And and again, it goes back to you you still need you still need like comp comprehension skills to to find a clue and correctly correlate what that clue might be referencing. Because honestly, if if uh you know if we if we was gonna make if it if it was gonna be a Black Panther reference guy, you know, it's not just gonna be the guy, it's gonna, you know, like and we got a Black Panther reference, we got one in the last up, the last episode. Yeah, and that's the thing, it'll probably it'll probably be a general, it'll probably be a more general reference, and then it'll probably be supported later, but you know, but they're not just gonna stick random shit out. Yeah, I don't right.
SPEAKER_00But you know, the whole goddess talking about oh, yeah, there are lots of different planes, but the ancestral plane, uh beautiful. There you go. That's your Black Panther reference.
SPEAKER_03It uh it was very it was just just to watch it transpire, and like I, you know, like I said, I don't like to read into it, but then you know, and I most of it I saw on the Black McCoy's um on the Black McCoy's uh uh timelines. Uh, but then I saw it in other places too, where people like, I don't know why all these people are lying on themselves, talking about, you know, uh Bass wasn't in that episode because you know, Bass is Bastet. And I'm like, uh-huh. Um but they didn't say Bastet. They didn't.
SPEAKER_05I think I saw the Black McCoy post it, and I just kind of was like, Yep, I'm not doing this today.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, nope. You know how people say I got time today? I didn't, I don't.
SPEAKER_05I I haven't allocated it. Yeah, I just you know, I I can't, I don't have the bandwidth to deal with. I don't, it's not doing it fix your own problems before y'all try to attack show or you know, read the credits or go read the the comic book, something do something.
SPEAKER_00Just pay attention. I'm another one. That's how you know who was not who got who kept getting in trouble in school because they wasn't fucking paying attention to nothing and kept getting shit wrong.
SPEAKER_03Anywho, so moving on, uh with the uh with the show, like uh uh I I just I felt the twist that turns the um I did want to ask Kaze. I know you said that you know normally there's some type of an effect that lets you know that there's kind of a switch between um I I well let me let me ask. Maybe I wasn't uh I didn't understand what you were asking or saying. You said that you had an issue with whether there was a transition between the different um existences between Steven and Mark.
SPEAKER_02No, no, that wasn't that wasn't my issue at all. I was more talking about um narrative and storytelling devices used by the director and stuff like just the way that just the way that they were you know give giving us uh information to like, you know, or you know, or or like because sometimes because sometimes the whole show, like you know, in WandaVision, everything, everything you saw and everything was in question, and it was very clear the box in which you get information that you could be like, oh, this could be this could be this, but but but Moon Knight isn't like that. Moon Knight is like regular show until you until you looking from Mark's point of view, right? True. And so then so so it was like you so that you had to you had to see where that divide was, and you know, and that's and that's where it was uh you know, you know, it makes you ask some unnecessary questions, sometimes like, oh, is this supposed to be weird? No, no, this is normal. Okay, okay, right. Okay, no, this is a mark thing. So yeah, yeah, so some, you know, so sometimes just as a shorthand, it'll, you know, like uh, you know, an effect will come up or they'll uh or or they'll start showing, like you'll start seeing certain shapes or shades or lights, just you know, just something, but you know, and I think a lot, I don't think anything like that was really here. They just kind of swapped and you just kind of had to catch up.
SPEAKER_07Okay.
SPEAKER_03I guess for me, I I enjoyed the dissonance, like the separation, the not kind of, oh, we're going from here to here. I I liked trying to be able to find it um for the story, for the story's purpose, like watching, you know, um uh Stevens very again, kind of going back to what I said before about how Stevens' life, you know, and now we know based off of episode five, uh, but yes, um watching Stephen's kind of smaller life slowly be, you know, shadowed, overshadowed by Mark's fully lived life. Like, and it's it's always interesting, you know, when you hear like people's stories about you know their husbands or wives, you know, cheating on them, and you think it's just oh, they're cheating on me with one person, but then you find that they literally have an entire life. And not only do they have an entire life, they they they've been doing more stuff with that other life than they ever did with you. And that's what it seemed like. I felt like in the first and second, first and second episode, I was like, I'm living this life watching Steven, and then all of a sudden, Mark got this whole shit going on. Layla shows up, and I'm like, the fuck? I feel like I've been lied to it. The fuck? So it was uh playing with me. I'm like, what's it what is it? But you know, um, so moving forward, uh, I I want to know uh our panelists, um, how do you feel about the kind of um Carmen San Diego-ish vibes of trying to find the tomb of Ahmed, I believe it was. I feel like it was Ahmed. Yes. Okay, trying to find the tomb of Ahmed, you know, because at first I thought it was about to be this whole five to ten episode chase for the scarab, but then he got the scarab in episode two. I was like, oh shit. Then I thought it was gonna be this whole chase to Egypt to find the tomb. He found the tomb in episode three. It's like Like, oh, y'all really about to make this up this this show quick as shit.
SPEAKER_05But this is the one of the shorter ones because it's only six episodes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, you're right. And I I found that out uh moments before this episode. Uh, because I I really I and and the Black Request completely right. I love movies like um, well, let me let me rephrase this statement. I love movies that allow you to do some almost archaeological digs and looking for different pieces, puzzles, understanding what the next marker. I love mysteries that take you from different places of the world and show you how things are collected. Now, I know people on this podcast and people in general have an issue. Scavenger hunts. Yes. Well, I was actually gonna talk about specific movies that match those, but okay, we'll just say scavenger hunts. Um, but yeah, I you know, I felt like I was ready for this wild ride and um they kind of shortened it a lot.
SPEAKER_00So you like national treasure, uh uncharted tomb Raider.
SPEAKER_03So when I was about to say those movies and you called it a scavenger hunt, why didn't you just let me say the movies?
SPEAKER_00You could have kept saying the movies, no one was stopping you.
SPEAKER_05I love being a good tomb raider now.
SPEAKER_03Tomb Raider. That's a good one. But no, National. I literally just said Tomb Raider. I started talking when you said Tomb Raider, not yes, but Tomb Raider, National Treasure, um, Uncharted, you know, movies like that where you're you'll you have a ultimate goal, but to find the ultimate goal, you have to tap into the history of all of these nationalities, these mythologies, these you know, places around the world and kind of retrace people's steps. And I felt like it was about to do that. And then, like, you know, and they did a little bit of that, I believe, in episode, what was that, four, beginning of four, end of three, where you know, they were in the tomb and you know, they kind of back went through the tomb, and you know, he was like, uh uh uh and and and and that's why I really was funking with Steven, because you know, Stephen was supposed to, you know, looking at the eye of Horace, and he was about to go into uh you found you know Alexander the Great's tomb, and he was you know digging through his gullet and trying to find the best moment ever.
SPEAKER_00He was not trying to do that, he was like amazed and disgusted at the same time. He's like, Oh god, I can't believe we have to do this. Oh, yeah. I'm so sorry, lad.
SPEAKER_03That was there that was slicing up people, taking out body parts and I felt mummy the mummy is another one. I felt so many flashbacks in the mummy.
SPEAKER_05The dumping ones though. Yeah, like the ones they always hated. Like, I was so freaked out. I was like, and all that nick nigga did was click click.
SPEAKER_03I was like, I was like, nope, nope, no, oh man. Actually, oh the click clicks, and like I'm I'm interested to see, you know, I mean, I guess obviously that entire well, let me stick to this point because I was actually about to ask a question. So what do you think about the aspect of the kind of treasure hunt? Uh I mean, I had an issue of being it, you know, short and concise, but what do you think about the treasure aspect, treasure hunt aspect of the show?
SPEAKER_00I'm glad that they had it um because it kind of leaned, it allowed the show to like lean a little bit deeper into a lot of the mythology behind Moon Knight and Konshu and like this kind of ancient, I don't want to say ancient rivalry, but like uh I wouldn't call a rivalry. Uh what's the word I'm looking for? I mean, kind of a beef, but not really.
SPEAKER_05Disputes, maybe disputes.
SPEAKER_00Uh, I can't find the right word right now, but like this, like ancient, I'll say ancient beef, right? Ancient beef for the most part, and give give us a little bit more insight as to like it. It was so it feels like it was juggling a lot at one time, right? Because it's giving us backstory on Moon Knight, it's giving us a little bit more information about Konshu, it's expanding the literal, like uh not theology, but like the the cosmology. There we go. That's the cosmology of the MCU because we are dealing with we've already met, we already know that Bost exists, right? So we already know that the As Guardians exist, and now we know that the Celestials and the Eternals also exist. And now we are throwing in um, and this is on top of like the TVA and the and and um King King the Conquer King the Conqueror, the He Who Remains, and all of like the the extra magic that we've encountered and will encounter for multiverse of magic as that movie comes up this this week. Oh shit, this week. Ah um I'm super excited for that movie. And um, and this is also like they all like we're we're it's it's a lot of big shit happening at one time because it's like there are because we're getting all of these extra gods and things like that that we initially did not have full awareness of. Like people were asking questions and shit about them, but like they're really like it's it's it's like the breadth of the implications of introducing Moon Knight as well as all of the avatars of the other gods is pretty intense. Um, and I think that's largely the purpose behind it and like why that kind of treasure hunt itself was important, because you know, you get to see how um similar in the internals to where like they affected history in it in their own way, right? These gods um who have lived longer or existed longer than them, maybe I don't know. We are we haven't explored that cosmology in the MCU yet, but like getting a chance to see how all of these you know Egyptian uh deities have influenced the world in their own ways in the past and how those are continue, and how that continues to have its own kind of ripple effect as to what we're dealing, dealing with now with um Harrow and Ahmed and trying to like release her, right? And what the like what are the consequences of that um and why she was sealed away in the first place. Um it's a lot to throw into the MCU from this particular show. And it could, it has like this, it has the it has uh it has range, it has a lot of range, and I'm really excited about what that's going to look like because I think one of the bigger parts of like this this what can seemingly be like a small journey or like a real a really small journey that's mostly like used as the backdrop for this character, Mark Spector and Stephen Grant, um is a way of like continuing to expand everything that we've already been getting. Because like when we started the when we started the Marvel Cinematic Universe, like we were pretty much consolidated to basic as science um and Earth, right? We like it, and then we started to expand once we got to Doctor Strange and these larger cosmic beings, and then after like you just gonna act like Thor wasn't a part of the first phase? Well, I say I so the reason I kind of the reason I did I'm including Thor in the first phase, but like remember like when they introduced Thor, they tried to like explain away magic as science, and like they're like, oh, they're one and this like you remember that first Thor movie, they're like, Oh, what you call science, we call magic, they're the same thing. So if you just science your heart, if you science hard enough, then you'll basically be doing magic. Like that's that's a lot of what happened in that first Thor movie, and that's why I say like they tried to science their way through the MCU until they got to a point of like legitimately Doctor Strange where they couldn't continue doing that anymore. I won't, and even to the point where like the As Guardians aren't even grounded specifically as like these deific beings, they're grounded as like a different alien race that's more powerful. That's the only reason I say that in the way that I did, because they didn't introduce the As Guardians as gods. I wasn't contracting your statement, I was just saying you seem very biased because you started with Doctor Strange, and we all know how you love Doctor Strange. No, I do love Doctor Strange, but that was one of the things. So when Doctors when I found out that Doctor Strange was gonna be introduced, like because they tried to ground the MCU in science so hard from the jump, like how I was extremely curious as to how they were gonna do that, with Doctor, continue to do that with someone who is strictly magical. Like, there's nothing scientific about Doctor Strange except for his like life as a doctor and his like knowledge of medicine and things of that nature. And so, in my opinion, Doctor Strange was really like the pivotal point to where magic really had to start taking over and making its stance in the MCU and helping us open up a much larger kind of uh a larger, more mystical relationship with the cosmology that we're dealing with. Because even the guy, even Konshu was able to turn back the literal sky, that's not scientific, that's like that's deific power and magic, right? And so that's why, yeah, that's why I make those distinctions. And that's why I start with Doctor Strange because he is the only character in the MCU, he had been the only character in the MCU so far at that time that was strictly magic. No other points on the treasure hunt.
SPEAKER_05Um, I enjoyed the treasure hunt aspect, like you were referencing like Tomb Raider and National Treasures, those are some of my favorite movies. So, well, maybe not so much national treasure, but definitely tomb Raider.
SPEAKER_01I saw that coming.
SPEAKER_00Um, that movie is a national treasure. And Nick Cage is also a national treasure.
SPEAKER_02I I still hadn't forgiven him for Wiggerman at the time, so I haven't seen it.
SPEAKER_00We don't talk about Wiggerman.
SPEAKER_05Um but damn, I lost my point where I was talking about. Um, I agree that I like going through the different parts of Egypt to try to get to Annette's tomb. Like I like to see that historical base um when it comes to movies of that nature, like because I've never been to Egypt, so that kind of gives you like, even though it's like a set, you kind of get that slight glimpse. Um, I do wish the chase was just a little bit longer, just a little bit, instead of like one episode, just a little bit longer, just to give you a little bit more of a thrill for the chase. I felt like it was just so short. Like it was like you were getting amped up for this chase, like you said, Suji, just getting amped up and then it'll settle down.
SPEAKER_03Like they arrived in Egypt, you know, at the end of episode one or two, and then like Kanju was like, Yeah, we found the pyramid. I'm like, bitch, what?
SPEAKER_04What right? Like, I'm like, I appreciate your guidance, but don't don't be giving him all these hints. I I need this extended.
SPEAKER_00You need to give the hints. Kansu said, We do not have time to fuck around to let this bitch out. We got shit to do. If you don't hurry up, I'm gonna take your bitch and she'll be my next avatar. And then Konsu got locked up in a stone statue moments later. Like, and then was like, hey, tell tell my nigga to break me out.
SPEAKER_05But that was also one of my favorite parts, just watching him move the sky. Like that was so dope.
SPEAKER_01It was so good they did it twice.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like you know, watching somebody just move the sky to where that exact night, like damn.
SPEAKER_00It's like, how do we figure out? Like, I remember that night. Remember all of the nights, the fucking goosebumps.
SPEAKER_02I was like, ooh. That was that might be the first useful thing that nigga said.
SPEAKER_00He was like, don't forget what I'm about to do. Like, I know what I'm about to do, so just go ahead and tell Martin to break my ass out of here.
SPEAKER_05So sushi, can I ask a question? What so what do y'all how do y'all feel about Kanchu versus what is it, Annette's ways and the way in the way they take justice? Like, who do you feel like it would be more justified? The one who wants to stop you before you do such, or the one that feels like you need to commit the action and then our consequences come?
SPEAKER_03I I think that's a very I that's a beautiful question. Uh may I ask uh answer first?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, go ahead.
SPEAKER_03Um, so it was interesting when Harold actually had that conversation. I forget if he was talking to Mark or if he was talking to Layla or Steven. It might have been Stephen. Uh, but when when he when he brought that question to him, he you know basically laid it out the exact same way you did. You know, Konshu is, oh, he was talking to Steven is when you know he was looking for the scarab and Layla showed up. Uh, he was like, you know, look, you know, Conshu is all about delivering a his own type of vengeance against, you know, evildoers who perform different heinous acts and delivering the worst type of vengeance possible. But Ahmed is different. Ahmed looks into someone's timeline and sees any bad or evil that they may do and roots and pulls it from the root so they don't commit such atrocities and prevents the world from being a terrible place. And the way he posed it, and it's it's I felt like they did a wonderful job in painting Kanchu to be this, you know, angry, brooding, Batman-like character who needed to exact revenge or vengeance on everyone, not revenge, vengeance, on everybody who's done something wrong. While Harrow is this kind of, I mean, even though you could easily see the the bullshit in his eyes, at least I could, but he still was this very monk-like, um, you know, especially the first scene where he's put glass in his shoes, you know, a lot of you know, uh, a lot of historic um individuals who've gone through certain um uh uh uh trials, tribulations, and and uh and their own certain paths and walks. They they've done, I don't say self-harm, but they've done they've done such acts to showcase their walk being not a trifle one, a walk that they had to go through certain obstacles and had to go through certain uh pain uh and hardships. And they show him, you know, they paint him as this individual, all up until you find out. I mean, even though you can see he's he's obviously killing people, but he's like, it's all in the name of a man. And you know, he's you know, people are following him in that first town, and people are like clinging to him and you know, searching for the way. Like for that lady to to be there, that means she was she she had already committed to being a follower, she was already there for a period of time, and she was already, I'm not gonna say she's old, but she had to have been, I'll say 50s, 60s, uh, maybe older, I'll just say 50, 60s. And for her to be there and already be quote unquote worshipping Ahmed and following Harold to then offer up the possibility to be judged means that Ahmed either looked in a very little thing that she did in the past, or she was still destined to do something evil or bad, or has a potential to do something evil or bad, and she was judged in that moment. So it's like it's weird to try to justify what side I would be on, right? Because you're you're thinking, you know, how can I, you know, I I even take it this way. So, you know, biblically, based off of how I was raised, right? They say, you know, I as a human being on this earth am not allowed to judge anybody, the judgment is up to God, right? So it's like, if I'm not judging anybody, right? If I'm not judging anybody, you know, I have no right to seek out vengeance on anybody. But then Harold is literally receiving words from his God. Granted, he used to be, you know, joined to Kai or working with Kanchu, but now he's over that met. So he's literally working with this woman or working with this God, I'm sorry, this God. And she's giving him the power to perceive and to judge one person or multiple people at a time. So it's like, okay, if if biblically I'm not supposed to do it myself, and he's receiving word from his God.
SPEAKER_00I felt I felt the embers of that burning, but I was like, it'll fizzle out. Nope, it didn't. Nope.
SPEAKER_03If he's receiving such words, then who is anyone, other than another God, of course, but who is anyone to say he's wrong? Mark, Steven, Layla, anybody who who are they to say he's wrong if he's receiving such words from his guide? So to answer your question posed directly towards us, I'm like, I honestly don't know which side I would pick. Because I mean, first off, I don't want to be um, I don't think I would want to be an avatar of Kanchu because he yells way too loud. Like that scene when they were in the tomb and he's like talking through Mark, like that was painful. And I was sitting in my chair in my house. Like every time he would like strain and conju's yelling through his body, I was annoyed. I was like, shut the hell up. The fuck? Calm fuck down. Shit.
SPEAKER_00He's very aggressive.
SPEAKER_03Very aggressive.
SPEAKER_02I mean, that I think I think that was a very specific thing, though. What do you mean? The uh I mean he was the only avatar that had to yell. I don't think he had to yell. No, but he was there there was difficulty in their connection. I I think that's directly connected because he wasn't yelling like that when he's just talking to him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it seemed like he was because everybody. I mean, loud sometimes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, no, he's loud, but it's like a it's like an echo, like just like I'm outside and I'm just you know, I don't need to be this loud to talk to you, but is but it wasn't it wasn't like painful like in like in that scene, like he was talking about.
SPEAKER_03Okay, uh no no I was I was specifically talking about that scene that he was loud as hell, but even when he's talking in their heads, he seems over the volume that I would allow to somebody who's next to me.
SPEAKER_00So okay, wait, wait, wait, wait. You you you you too loud, you had a you had a 12, I need to add it to you.
SPEAKER_03I need to bring it down.
SPEAKER_00I don't you you above you above any any level above five, we got a problem.
SPEAKER_02Really bad honestly, that sounds doable. It's like kill him, and I'm like, I'm not oh what I can only I can only hear you at this decibel. You want what you want me to do?
SPEAKER_00I know you're gonna be like the type that was threatened lady, like you heard what he said. Your girlfriend's on the motherfucking phone, and that volume you're gonna be talking to me. You're gonna need to need some about do some shit. You want judgment, bitch? You better talk correctly, you better come correctly.
SPEAKER_03Okay, which is why I was so happy for even for a moment, even though I wasn't fucking with Harrow, that moment where he was talking to Steven after he got out the van, and he was like, Oh, is that conju? Don't worry, don't worry, that's all he can do. Just feel good. It made me feel good inside.
SPEAKER_00But anyway, I think that's he's just a big tantrum. It's just a big tantrum.
SPEAKER_03He's probably saying this, isn't he? Um I would love to yelling in his head. Don't forget, and that scene he was yelling in his head too. Just angry. He's like, kill him. I'm like, too loud.
SPEAKER_00I would now, I would love to like, I would love for Konsu to be like a black woman's avatar from America. That would be hilarious. I would actually, I would love conshoe. No, don't be no, no, no, I would love Lady Legacy to be the avatar conscious. I would love to watch that conversation. I would love to listen to the outside of that conversation. I would watch that episode, I would watch that series. Actually, I can just yell at a couple things regular tone because you can only you can only yell at Grace No times before spectrum lately just been it's been amplified.
SPEAKER_05Well, we're not gonna get into that subject because I can go on the whole soapbox.
SPEAKER_03You're gonna yell at Grace Wrong? Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_00I don't care. I don't care who I don't care what god you are, you better chill the fuck out. Right, right.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, just to answer your question, I don't I I I don't think I could pick. Um they would probably have to pick me, and then I we'll see what happens, you know, what's possible.
SPEAKER_00I didn't even do that. Uh anybody else? Oh god. Um so it's interesting because um I remember in my in my ethics classes, like one of the things we talked about. Um, this is similar to one of the things we talked about, um, because it's kind of that classic argument like if you know something's evil or something bad is gonna be done, if you have the power to go back and prevent it, then would you? And like one of the classic, one of the classic examples is like a like a kill baby Hitler thing. And they joked about it in end games, like, oh, let's go kill baby Thanos or whatever. But it's like you then have to grapple with the with the fact that you are taking an innocent life. Like you have to grapple with the fact that is it okay to is it okay to end someone's life for nothing that they've done, right? And so it turns into like my my personal answer is like no, I don't, I I I side with the way Kanchu does things because it's it's better to, it is more reasonable and it's more um it allows for it it gives more room for people to have to have the ability to do otherwise and the ability to uh change. Because the what ends up happening um between I think the larger debate between conshu and between like Amet and this, you know, providing just. Afterwards or providing justice before is that with Ahmed, you have this idea of determinism. And so that's you know, that's exactly what it sounds like that you know you are fated to do or to be certain things, no matter what you say or what you do. You are in a very in the strictest deterministic sense, there is nothing that is going to happen that you can prevent that isn't already going to happen. So if one were to choose the side of Ahmed, then it's like, okay, well, if you if you side with Ahmed, then that's also kind of giving in to the fact that people are inherently going to do evil and they should be punished beforehand before they have the chance to do it. Because if they are, which you know, also kind of leans into its own problems, because it's like if you, if you, if someone is going to do evil, right, or if you know something bad is gonna happen and you do nothing to prevent it, then it's like, okay, well, you can be seen as a bad person. But at the same time, the argument can be made that if their actions are determined, then that your actions are just as determined. So even if you do something before they even do it, it would be more you would like that sequence of events becomes kind of problematic to even discuss because you can't like that, and it has a lot of really difficult implications when it comes to things like accountability. Can you be held accountable for something you haven't done yet? Can you be held accountable for something that you didn't know you were going to do? Can you be held accountable for something that you had no active participation in making happen? And if someone comes up and murders you and is like, oh yeah, no, like in the next you know, two days, you were gonna kill X, Y, Z person. So I came to kill you to make sure that that didn't happen, it's like, well, how can you can you rationally justify that? And if that is the way that, and it's kind of like um when we were talking when you when Suchi no Shogun was talking about uh psychopaths, like in the way they kind of um you know tried to be preemptive about you know justice and preemptive about preventing different crimes and things like that from happening. Um, and I mean, you know, psychopaths has its own kind of you know uh mythology and you know and story and plot devices that kind of create its own separate set of issues, but like, and I don't mean issues with it as an anime issues, I guess, for for like the characters themselves, but like I don't think that it makes sense for us to invest in this idea that we have to be preventative to the point where we don't have the option to do or be how we want to be. Because I think the larger implication, uh another large implication, if you side with Ahmed, is that you don't actually have any free will. And one of the things that is difficult for us as human beings is that we want to invest in this idea that we are capable, that we are free, that we can be how we want to be, and we can do what we want to do. We have the ability to change, to grow, to evolve as people. But if you side with Ahmed, then it's kind of you're partially at you're to some degree buying into the idea that no, you can't. You cannot be better, you cannot do different, you cannot change in any way, shape, or form. You are always going to be the kind of creature that you are always going to be. And you are always going to do what you are always going to do. So to side with, to side with conshu, I think, um gives us more opportunity to be to say that you know we have the ability to change, we have the ability to do otherwise. We have the ability to be held accountable for the actions that you know we have done and not for things that we haven't done, crimes we have committed versus those that we have not committed. And I think that overall, the that's a that's an extremely big debate between the the actions of these two kind of like, I guess, you know, opposing deities and their ideologies, is that on the one hand, you have to figure out whether or not you as a person are capable of change. And if you aren't, then you have to be satisfied with that. Um, but that can also contradict a lot of people's personal views of themselves because one of the things about that is that personal identity becomes a very um the personal identity finds itself on the chopping block. And I'm not gonna get too much deeper because it can like the the the distinction between the implications of these two particular thought processes have a lot of like larger implications that a lot of people may not actually consider when determin when thinking about, oh, these actions are determined, or oh, or like, oh, you're determined as a person, or oh, you're free as a person. And yeah, so I'm not gonna get too deep into that, but like personal identity becomes moot as at the same time that you know you are you are incapable of all these different things. Um, but free will allows you the opportunity to say, no, I I am not I am not a fixed creature, I'm not a fixed being, or my identity uh is not fixed, or my actions are not fixed. They can always change and things can always be different. So I side with Kan Shu because um I guess you know reparative justice is a bit more, I see his side as more so reparative justice. Like you have to deal with the consequences of your actions and not the consequences of you know perceived action or actions or a future that may not even occur. And kind of tying this back to the MCU, given the state of how we know the time is now set up, now that you know the TVA and you know, the sacred timeline is no longer the sacred timeline anymore, it's definitely the multiverse, and there are multiple different timelines that people are not fixed in the way that they were before. The TVA is not gonna pop in and remove you for not killing someone that you for all intents and purposes were supposed to kill or whatever. So yeah, that's my response. I side with Kashu.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, so my uh my I mean I'll I don't side with neither one of these niggas, but like because uh aside aside from uh my my minority reporting people, um we we have no idea, like like you know, like she like you know, she is pretty much she's being she's being a judge, jury, and executioner, and we're taking our word for it. We have no idea what what what what her standards are, uh why why or or why these people who have never heard of her should die because she said so. Like who who decided that you like who made her the the argument?
SPEAKER_00In the words of Eskenor, who decided that?
SPEAKER_02Right, because like because you know this is like this is these aren't these are not uh infallible gods, these are just big big concepts and personalities. So there's no reason for me to to uh agree agree with you and this decide that you you get ownership over this, uh other than the fact that you have the you you have some power to to exact that in a way, but you know, but I mean you you know you don't got that much power. You gotta uh you you gotta work through this nigga on a with a cane. So uh so yeah, the both both both of them uh uh lack, you know, like lack nuance. And I think that's uh you know that I think that's usually my issue. It's it's it's always like, oh, like let's jump to this, let's jump to this extreme. And it's like, okay, but you're this amount more powerful and you're even older than you are powerful. So you you literally could have found a better way to do this, but that's but you're not gonna do that because that's not who you are. So um uh yeah, yeah, yeah, no, neither. Uh like it was like because we you know we like we literally saw uh uh you know Kashi was like, kill him, and it was like it's it's just a boy, like you literally know nothing about it. Like just because he had a knife and he was facing your general direction, like it. I mean, honestly, if it was like if it was like Steven, just Steven, and he's fighting for his life, then yeah, all right, yeah, it's it's them or you, whatever. But Mark, who was trained and and and and was fully capable of just beating that kid's ass and disarming him, then it's like, yeah, no, like for what? So um, yeah, both both both of them niggas uh uh prop problematic and short-sighted as fuck. And I and honestly, and after seeing uh wait, didn't that kid kill himself? Uh yeah, yeah, yeah. He cut the he cut the tie after yeah, after he saved him. Uh, because I think I think he thought he was gonna torture him or he was gonna torture him. Because he had more questions. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He wanted to know where the thing is, yeah. Um, but yeah, and after and after seeing that uh debacle of a trial, then I don't I I don't I don't I don't I don't side with them niggas either. All them niggas crazy. And it was like he he ain't do he ain't do nothing wrong. Like I was like, so y'all have no divine sentence or nothing. You just you take this nigga's word for it because he sounds less crazy than Conju, which isn't even a bar.
SPEAKER_00Well, I think that also kind of tracks because if we're if you know to kind of bounce back to the whole Bastet thing, like if Bastet was had the divine senses that she was supposed to have, then we wouldn't have had to deal with Eric Kilmonker and Wakanda at all. Like that nigga would have been taken care of at already. So I think that speaks to these creatures. Sorry, these uh deities being having being omnipotent to a degree. Well, not even omnipotent, but they they are powerful, but their power has limits because like they intervene only, they can only intervene so much. And I don't know if that's just a product of their power limitations or just like the limitations that they set upon themselves. Because I also like wonder why does Kanshi need the Avatar and like you're a god? Can you not just do whatever the fuck you want and keep it moving? So I think that's something we might need to be like informed a bit more about, and I don't know how they're gonna go about doing that. Because as far as like the Egyptian deities, they all have like their own kind of role in which they play. Um, you know, you know, the balancing the hearts, the farrying the dead, and this, that, and the other. But and even Konshu's role, I think I'm not, I think I don't know if we got enough of like why Konshu uses his avatar to murder people. I was trying to put a nice find a nice way to say that, but now you know you have to murder people.
SPEAKER_05Um and I think that looming rule that they can't interfere with you know human daily, you know, interactions. Did you see when he did the thing with the sky? They put them in the statue, put them at the statue.
SPEAKER_00I'm wondering. I'm and it's interesting because now I'm thinking about I wonder what that looked like from like outer space. Like what was happening?
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, that yeah, that's probably wild.
SPEAKER_00If we got Captain Marvel, we got celestials, I'm sure somebody noticed that the the stars were moving. Because it wasn't just an illusion, like I'm pretty sure this nigga actually moved the heavens, and so somebody had to notice that shit. Somebody somewhere because if the gods on if the gods of Egypt themselves noticed that that shit happened, it was like you can't do that, like because if it was just an illusion, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been a problem. But you know, you move the literal planetary bodies in reverse.
SPEAKER_03It says his powers specifically don't work on Earth, so it says his powers don't specifically work on Earth. So I'm since it was the sky or rather the stars, he was moving since it was outside of this plane of existence. That's why he was able to make some type of changes outside of time and space. Outside of time.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I get that. But somebody, I feel like somebody still had to notice. Like outside of the gospel.
SPEAKER_03I think that's why they took action. Like, maybe you can't just change the stars.
SPEAKER_04Why is the sky moving? Are we moving?
SPEAKER_00It's like at the end of internals when a big ass celestial is just in the sky, and it was like, what was like you know, maybe we should leave Earth because this is a lot.
SPEAKER_04We can we can we got where's that other planet at?
SPEAKER_00We got people seeing snapped out of existence. We get we got giant ass shit thrown up in the sky, we got alien invasions, we got niggas moving the stars and the planets and shit. This is too much.
SPEAKER_05No, for real. Um but to answer my own question, um, I think I would have sided with Kanju. It's almost like how you watch Injustice and you had Batman and Superman, and Superman got pushed to his limits. Was like, nah, Batman, you're not doing this right. You could have avoided this. So it's just like or or you could have finished it, not avoided it, but finished it by killing the Joker. Um I think Kanju has the has the right perspective in my eyes, because certain crimes I just feel like you shouldn't come back from. Certain atrocities, and that might be putting your own will on how you feel about the atrocities that were done, but certain crimes you just I don't, I don't believe that you can be rehabilitated from. Um, I I don't believe in what is it, a net perspective as in minority reporting you because I thought that was wrong in minority report. Like you didn't even give me a chance to commit the crime yet. Like I could have changed, somebody could have changed me before I got there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and it wasn't timelines in minority report. That fucks the whole thing.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_05And like y'all are holding these, but what y'all are doing isn't wrong in minority report. Y'all hold these three people captive to just tell you what crimes are about to be committed. But yeah, so I don't I don't believe in minority reporting people, like because that just leads to to me ineffective justice. Because anything can slide, like one what happens when one of those three would have died in that case?
SPEAKER_00Well question um wait a minute, so pause. So so do we have uh this is like a relevant but like random question. Do we have laws that are like against plotting to murder somebody, even though you don't actually do it? Premitated premeditated murder. Does that mean like okay, so yeah, yeah, attempted murder is a thing. So attempted murder is a thing, like you tried but you failed.
SPEAKER_05But a premeditated murder is executed.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Now, whether it was successful or not doesn't matter at that point. It's just this was a plan.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so if I planned to blow up a school, but didn't actually do it.
SPEAKER_03I just if they caught you, sponge your plans, and what can verify that this was your intention, then yes, they can put you in jail or worse.
SPEAKER_00Yep. So functionally, we have laws that are very like Ahmed style.
SPEAKER_03I wouldn't say functionally when you know how our current lost law system works. I mean, does it actually work? Sorry, you know how our current system is put into place.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, I wouldn't I wouldn't, I wouldn't, I wouldn't call that um Ahmed style. That's I think that's I think that's closer to being called red-handed.
SPEAKER_00And I and I only and I only phrase it that way because for all intents and purposes, like if what if I decided to change my mind like that the last minute? I was like, no, I'm just going home.
SPEAKER_03You have the intent.
SPEAKER_00Like, but that huh?
SPEAKER_03You had the intent. Doesn't matter. That that would be, I mean, I agree with Kaze, it's not necessarily Amet style, but going along what what Amet or rather what Hara was saying about Amet's uh judgment, it's either before or in the future, you have the intent or you have the thought or you have the potential to do something evil or bad. Because I was thinking about that uh when you were talking about it earlier, when you were discussing with Dr. Quindell. Like, imagine I'm driving and my intent is not to kill anybody, but I cut somebody off, it shocks them, they drive into an 18-wheeler, which then swipe swipes a bunch of cars and creates an entire traffic uh 40-car pollo. There are a bunch of people dead right now, right?
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's not a destination in moonlight at this moment.
SPEAKER_02No, no, if if you penguin, then you're cool.
SPEAKER_03You can just go um, but that wasn't my intention. But based off of what Harold was saying, that Ahmed, how Ahmed's judgment works, I did something that caused some type of outward pain. So I would be judged and I would be killed, even if I wasn't even aware of what I was doing, uh aware of what I was doing. So I would say the difference between the intention is Ahmed is the judgment of Ahmed is at least based off of the MCU, is based off of your potential to do anything, not necessarily your intent. Because even the lady was like, I was a good woman, I was a good lady. And Haira was saying, yes, but you had the potential, and that's what Ahmed is judging. So I think it's less of the intent and more of the potential to do whatever you're doing. Granted, I don't feel like I think everybody has the potential.
SPEAKER_00I mean, uh, yeah, but I think that's that's the the slippery slope there.
SPEAKER_02Like everyone has the potential, like regardless of I think I think it goes beyond potential because I don't think anybody would pass that test. Oh, we certainly wouldn't.
SPEAKER_05No, the lady, there was somebody before that somebody passed.
SPEAKER_02Oh, they did, yeah.
SPEAKER_05It was like a guy that went before her, and he was on the lady welcome into the land, and then you had the lady, the old lady, who probably was gonna create created traffic accident that you just said. That passed away.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, I mean, I mean, I think I think I think she's judging you actually doing something, and and I think she can just see whatever version of the timeline it is. Uh, my you know, I think my issue is I don't I don't know what she can say. Did you steal a cookie? Did you we don't know what her standards are, we don't know how the how she caved you, we don't know if there's a point system, we don't we don't know shit. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_05Like it her her judgment is worse in minority report, at least in minority report, they like what she just off.
SPEAKER_02And and they and they show and they show you what she was about to do. We we literally gotta take her word for it, right? Yeah, yeah. I mean Harold, I mean Harold gets to see, but you know, but he's not exactly a forthcoming. Uh yeah, all he said was, Oh, but I saw what you did, and I'm apologizing for it.
SPEAKER_04I'm trying to figure out how he even has because I don't mean no harm because he looked like he got the potential.
SPEAKER_03He was ex-Consu. He did it, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05But see, she probably ignored that because he was following Kanchu's orders.
SPEAKER_00Or she saw that as like, oh, I can this is someone who is easier to manipulate because they're like fuck conchu, and I can use this person because they are now until the next the exception. You absolutely right. It's that's that's a that's definitely a mystery for me. I'm like, shouldn't by Ahmed standards you also be dead right now? Like, um, that was that that's been my thought process this entire time, especially after he shot Steven. I'm like, or Mark, which who was I think was it Mark? It was a mark at the time.
SPEAKER_03It was Mark, it was Mark at the time.
SPEAKER_00It was Mark at the time. Yeah, so after he shot Mark, I'm like, that feels very uh that it's it's giving, you know, it's giving imbalance.
SPEAKER_03It's giving like Mark at the time, it wasn't Steven. Even if you kill somebody, like well, don't forget, he's been killing people with the staff. He'd already judged Mark, and Mark was supposed to be the one who was supposed to die. So I'm wondering if they came off, they came off with chaos, right?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, they came off like they the scales couldn't find out, like they was like, I don't know what's going on with you, but it's a lot of shit going on in there, and we you there's chaos in you, so this this isn't working.
SPEAKER_05His his scales, remember when he judged Mark and on his arm, the little scale tattoo, it just kept swinging back and forth, like when it was on when they won the boat.
SPEAKER_03Right, right, right. But he hero at one point did say that Mark was supposed to be judged to die. Like he did say that. He it's that I agree because I was saying that to the black McCoy when we were watching, it was like it was never he said he was full of chaos. But at one time, Harrow did specifically say you were supposed to be judged to die, and you're supposed to die. Like, so which is it?
SPEAKER_02Is it I mean, I mean, uh he specifically says judge because he was he was supposed to die and he was saved. Are you sure he's just not referencing when he was supposed to actually die? What do you mean?
SPEAKER_00Oh, you mean because you saw that flashback of when he found when Consu found him, like he was supposed to be and he was about to die, but. He gave himself over to Kansu and Konshu.
SPEAKER_03He said judged. Judged to die is what he said. I can go back and check just to be sure.
SPEAKER_00But I think what Kazet's question is like, did he mean judgment as in terms of like judged by Amet or like judged just cosmically? Like you were supposed to die? Like you were about to die. Well, that's why I said I can go back and check. Yeah, yeah. And I'm and you know, regardless of the wording, I think it's supposed to be more about like the geek the the uh the context of using the word judged, but you know, we'll figure that out later.
SPEAKER_05How did you all feel about the last episode? Like diving more into Mark's head than Steven's head.
SPEAKER_00Whoo, that was a roller coaster. I loved it. I loved every minute of it. I so yeah, so I love the way that they handled it because we learned relatively early, like they kept because they they started the series off like, okay, we don't know who's real and who's not, or we don't know what's going on. We have Mark and we have Steven, and it's like, okay, well, if you know a little even a little bit about Moon Knight, you know, you know, Moon Knight has dissociative identity disorder, and there are altars there, cool. So we don't know who is like the core personality, we don't know if Mark is the altar or if Steven is the altar, but we get introduced to Steven and like Suchi was saying earlier, Steven's the one who has the full life that we get a chance to see and know. And you know, he wakes up and is just in these random places and not sure how he got there. And so we by the time we actually get to the full story of like, you know, knowing Mark, and it's like, okay, well, Mark has been married and blah, blah, blah, like how long, how long has Stephen been around? Because I remember when the show started, I'm like, okay, well, Stephen created so Mark could hide, or like what was the deal there? Like, and so learning and and like having like a little bit of information about how DID works, um, and as to you know what how altars work, I was very curious as to how this was going to be handled. And I was also a little worried because some shows and some films have typically portrayed dissociative identity disorder as this like kind of horrific, very terrifying thing. And I'm sure that it can be very traumatic. And let me not get into that, but like it's portrayed a lot of people with DID as like being these kind of like monsters or like really like yeah, I'll just stick there.
SPEAKER_05Um, before you continue, I have a question. We're talking about DID. Like, is it always a traumatic experience that pushes, I guess, one's mind to get to that point?
SPEAKER_00So, from my basic understanding, it is usually an extremely traumatic experience that causes an altar to spawn. So there is also a show that um what's her name? I keep forgetting it. Uh oh it was called United States of Tara. But um, damn it, now I gotta look it up because I keep I she was in um she was in Knives Out, she was uh the mother in hereditary Tony Collette, Tony Collette, Tony Collette. I think it was Tony Colette. Yeah, sounds right. Yeah, Tony Collette. Uh is she also she's Australian? Anyway, um and in that show, United States, because that was like the first like show that I've seen that handled dissociative identity disorder in a way that was like in it, you know, not didn't put like make her seem like this horrific creature, like a or like a monster or like a problem. And so like it was because of like she had a number of different altars, but all of the altars spawned from a different traumatic experience in some way, shape, or form. And so, like, we the way we saw it in the last episode of Moon Knight, um, because I was like, was it four? No, it was five. So the way we saw it in episode five, it was it was it was it was like closer to how it happens clinically or how it's understood on a very basic level to happen that like a traumatic experience will like cause this like extreme level of disassociation to the point where an entirely new person like somehow comes up. And it's not like a person that comes out of like nowhere, it's a person that develops just based on the various you know psychological information that's stored within the brain. So like Stephen Grant came up because of that show that he loved, like the adventurer Stephen Grant had the accent and everything. And um it was yeah, so it was it was more appropriate as to that portrayal because it I think it helped, you know, give that understanding that it's a like you know, people don't just have DID, but it comes from like psychological trauma. But yeah, what was I saying?
SPEAKER_05Um before that, I I just really uh that was always a question for me because you've seen it on like SVU, where like this lady was, although she was faking it, um, having DID. So I was just always wondering, like, does it always have to be something traumatic?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, usually, and it's usually like something traumatic that you know triggers the other alter to occur, right? Um but yes, so fuck, what was I saying before? Oh, yeah, how I thought about that episode. So yeah, no, no, no. I I love the way that they portrayed uh this alternate personality kind of spawning, um, and Mark even being aware of this other personality spawning to some degree, and uh not be and being able and like wanting to protect him from it from like the truth. I thought that was a very interesting aspect to throw in there. Like he didn't like he, even though he saw Mark as a hindrance in some way, he knew on some level that Mark had a purpose, and Mark's purpose, I'm sorry, that Stephen had a purpose, and Steven's purpose was to, you know, be the person that he never got a chance to be, and be and have the life that he never got a chance to have, and have like the the the kind of peace and normalcy that he never got a chance to have. And I think that you know, Mark being exposed to the truth was a really, really intense situation intense moment because it I think the only thing that might confuse me a bit is to like what is this, what happens now that Mark has been cast into the sands um in this fifth episode, right? Because it seems like Mark is going to no longer be there. And I feel I would feel kind of weird knowing that moving forward, that Moon Knight is just going to be Mark Spectre and this other personality that we haven't gotten a chance to access yet. Um, and not having the the range of having Steven there because Steven had his own usefulness and had his own like skill set that really helped Mark and Layla in ways that Mark couldn't figure out on his own, and Layla couldn't figure out on her own as quickly. Um, so I'm I'm intrigued as to what's going to happen moving forward because Mark and Steven were kind of like this dynamic duo of sorts. Um and they complemented each other because Mark had all the power, but Steven had all of the knowledge and the the brains. So it's interesting. I I'm I'm I'm not worried, but I'm curious as to what the turn is going to look like. Because it seems like, oh, you've gotten because you were able to address all of this, and because you were able to, you know, fight together and stand together, now you have somehow. I don't know if they're trying to see it as an allegory. Allegory, I don't know, I said that that way, allegory for like overcoming that trauma. And now Steven is no longer necessary. Um, but I'm not sure, I don't think that's how that works. But I'm also not a clinician, so I can't speak too much to that. So I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I feel like that would be uh I feel like if I was in that type of situation, granted, yes, that's supposed to be another personality, another existence in my mind or my body, rather, I feel like losing a part of me traumatically, if I may, I feel like would cause me nothing but irreparable harm. Um even in a place the field of reads where you're supposed to be literally at peace in the afterlife. He looks absolutely miserable. Because one, he was trying to get back, two, he lost his not his peaceful side, if you will, but he lost somebody who he's he he used to deal with all of the negative. So now he's stuck with all of the negative inside of him because he doesn't have that possible. It's not like they merged and solidified into this one being. He com it was completely ripped from it, for lack of better words. Um and like I I I'm not sure what they're gonna do in this episode. Um, I guess which I guess this is now a good time to talk about what our our our assumptions are for the end of this series or season. Um I'm hoping it's a it's a season, not a series uh ending. Um I I feel like with what I've seen, especially in this last this I I almost like the kind of scavenger hunt aspect. I really enjoyed the I I guess enjoyed is probably not a good word to use when you're talking about somebody's traumatic past, but kind of unfolding or unfurling of the trauma in Mark's past and the birth of Steven, even though I kind of got hints of it in episode four, when you know, the Dr. Harrow rather was you know kind of alluding to, and you know, you saw the the um the poorly done uh uh VHS uh movie on the TV in the psych ward. Um you saw all the people who you know were in the in the season so far, uh kind of be in the room in the psych ward with them. And you know, they were trying to move through this period of uh understanding and figuring out well, what the hell just happened? All we know is that he got shot and he faded from existence in a pyramid. Um, and I don't believe that water was that deep, but then all of a sudden it turned deep as hell, and then he just woke up in this place. Um it was just it was very interesting. Actually, even one of the things that myself and the Black McCoy had um spoke about when that scene took place, uh well, one of the things that we were thinking about as this as the show was going on was was there a third personality? And the reason why we were thinking that is if you recall one of the times where um uh uh when I believe Mark was the one that woke up right before they went after the boy who eventually killed himself. And Mark woke up with the knife in the guy's chest and he looked towards the mirror saying, Who the fuck did this? Looked at Steven, and Stephen was like, What are you talking about? You did that, and then they're like both confused. And for a moment, I was like, Wait, maybe it was a Kantu, but Konsu can't do anything on the earthly realm or on earth. So I'm like, Well, then who the hell killed that nigga, right? And there were times where Mark was like, Well, Stephen must have done this, but then he thought about it, he's like, Well, why would Steven doesn't kill people? So then, fast forward to when they're in the sideboard in episode four, and he's looking all over the the uh hallways, um, trying to escape, of course, from Dr. Harrow. He eventually stumbles across the first room. I think it was the first room before he found Stephen. No, no, it was after he found Steven. He found Steven in the sarcophagus, got him out. They kept going down the hallway. They found a third sarcophagus that was like shaking, rattling, trying to break out. Again, for a moment, I thought that was maybe a uh uh symbolic visual of Kamchu being sealed. But then I'm like, again, Kamchu was completely taken from them and sealed in stone in Egypt. So I don't think they would put him, like it would have been much apropos to put him inside of his stone figure rather than putting him inside of a sarcophagus that's trying to break out. Granted, Mark was like, I don't know that nigga. Uh huh. I don't know this man. I'm sorry to this man and kept on going down the hallway. But I'm I'm thinking that's what's going to that's that's what we're gonna come up to in this next episode, this last episode, is unveiling this third personality that's possibly gonna take the place of Steven consistently, maybe to the point where Mark might not even know it's not Stephen. Like I think what might happen is this third personality will realize Steven is gone and pose as Steven, and Mark thinks, oh, it's Steven, you know, even talking a fake London British accent, sorry, and can make Mark think that it's you know Steven when it in all fact it's the murderer, or rather, the person who has the murderous intent of the three of them, uh, or of uh uh of the existence. Because even uh I believe it was when we watched it with Kaze. No, no, it was before we watched it with Kaze, myself and Black the Black Mapor were talking about how in the uh ending credits you see kind of um Oscar uh um sorry, yes, Oscar Isaac, yeah, Oscar Isaac's face kind of be ripped apart in like uh a kind of crescent moons. And we were saying that's three faces versus just there being two for Steven and Mark. So we're thinking maybe that third face is that third existence of a personality within the body or within the body. So my person, my thought process is that that third existence is the more violent side of Mark. Because although Mark is is skilled and is trained in killing people, he still tried his best not to kill people in several instances unless absolutely necessary. But when he woke up in that moment, that nigga was dead and he was quite the bloody. So I'm like, and I think that's the person maybe Konsu likes working with the most. Although Mark has reasoning, that nigga just kill, kill, kill. And I think that's who Konsu is cool with the most. Um, but that's according to the comic book.
SPEAKER_05There is three personalities.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, people have been speculating it's some dude named Jake.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I don't remember his name. Don't give it a name.
SPEAKER_02Not only is it three personalities, but uh in a comic book, Konsu takes over. So Konsu is his own personality.
SPEAKER_03Ha ha ha. I was right.
SPEAKER_02But we also don't know if that's gonna happen in the show. But so it's uh but it's it's information, it's it's stuff there, and there's hints towards it. So we'll yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03And that's why I was bringing up the hints. I mean, like I said, I didn't I tried my best not to know anything about the comic book before. So thanks for spoiling me, guys. Um, but um uh I I tried to make sure that you know I was basing it completely on what I saw on the show.
SPEAKER_05You know, you watch the stuff with Marcus Hart. If it's something that he read, it's just like I would have to tell him the hush, but he was already telling me like the backstory behind Moon Knight. Because you know, for me, I'm like, who the heck is this? Like, I've never heard of that. It's just not like one of the basic ones that you see already.
SPEAKER_00I'm like, who it's funny, I that made me think about uh a uh a comic panel where Moon Knight and Punisher were standing there talking to each other, and Punisher was like, I think he said something like still still insane. He's like, I don't know, your family's still dead.
SPEAKER_02I was like so good, so good. But but I think I think uh my my uh guesses for the next episode is um I just think I just think that uh Mark is gonna find a way to uh save Steven. Like, I mean, one, I don't think Marvel has the balls to kill a character they introduce as the main character into a show yet. Uh even even if this is like a really iffy weird situation. Um, but it's like you know, we were introduced to Steven. I don't see them offering Steven. Um but also, but even even as a Iron Man? At the end after a decade, I mean it's still killed.
SPEAKER_05So I mean, is he really good?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, and that and that and also that was a that was after a decade and after a setup epic sacrifice, like that that is that is not what this was.
SPEAKER_04Those things occurred. There's an outline.
SPEAKER_02Well I wasn't saying people don't die in MCU. I'm saying that I don't see them uh doing a six episode series where they surprise off the first person we met. I just I just don't I don't also also usually when they uh when they're doing these stories of uh with like multiple uh personalities or having a fractured self, usually there's usually the the the usually the theme is like wholeness and bringing shit together. So I don't I don't see I don't see Mark solving his the rest of his problems without Steve.
SPEAKER_05Uh so yeah, so so um without creating some other personality, I just don't think move through others like that.
SPEAKER_00I'm glad you said that, Domo. Uh because so something I remember distinctly from that show United States of Terror, where you know, if you haven't seen it, please go watch it. It's a really excellent show. That's where I met Tony Collette and fell in love with her, but um, because her performance of all the altars were amazing. One of the things that happened in the show, spoiler, I mean it's a very old show, but um, one of the things that happened was that her family knew about all of her altars because she was a mother and a wife, and her family knew about all of her all of her altars, but there was an episode where something and a new altar came out of nowhere. And so, but she didn't know that altar was there, and none of her all other altars were aware of that altar. So, like having altars be aware of one be aware of one another isn't something unusual, but it's also not entirely unusual to my knowledge, based on the my limited, very limited knowledge based on watching the show, that an altar can spawn and no one actually know that it's there, like not even the person, the main personality that's there, like Mark could have a whole Mark having a whole other altar that neither he nor Steven is aware of is not impossible.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, definitely. I think I think that was a big thing. And uh what was was the uh James McAvoy thing? Was it split? Yes, yeah, yeah, that yeah, I think that happened there too.
SPEAKER_00So I'm very intrigued as to how they're gonna handle this, but for the final episode, uh what am I? Um I so my prediction for the final episode is I'm I think that what might happen is this last altar is going to like pop up finally, because Steven and Mark seem to be the main ones in the driver's seat. But now it seems like Steven's not there anymore. So there's room for this last altar to like burst through and do what he wants to do. Um so I think that that's going to be a huge part of this final, this final episode. Um, especially because uh they'll need to get Kanshu back out again. And I think that that other altar is going to be a huge, going to play a very big role in that because I think that this other altar might have a for all for lack of a better word, it might have a heart on for like being moon knight and for the murdering part because Mark likes to protect, but I I think between like I think it was a Suchi or Kazair, both of them kind of said that you know, there's one that just kind of likes the murdering part. Um, and I think that getting that power back might be kind of essential there. And seeing what will I think that Harrow will eventually fall. Um, but I all because you know, I think it's kind of apropos for how the these kinds of like stories tend to go because Harold might just be like a one-off where we get rid of him. But the larger villain himself, like I don't see Harrow as like a big bad. Like Harrow's the antagonist in this story, but I don't see Harrow as the end all be-all for this for this particular moon night story. Like there's something much larger going on here, which is why I think that you know, introducing the other avatars, introducing the other deities is more important than what's going on with Harrow. And I think that also might be why like the kind of Tomb Raider, uncharted, national treasure-esque kind of scavenger hunt isn't so prominent because we know what they're after. So we don't need to waste time seeing them go after the stuff that they're going after. Because the much larger issue at hand is something beyond Harrow himself, which might be Ahmed, might be like the other gods overall, might be the consequences of breaking out conshu and um moving forward. I don't know. Like it seems like there's a time bomb about to go off, specifically when it comes to this altar, when it comes to Konshu and what it comes to like these other deities, because they don't seem the Harold doesn't Harrow is basically a conduit to me for another Harrow is basically another conduit for another god, and that god is imprisoned. So if that god is not controlling but guiding Harrow and is imprisoned, what is it going to be like when that god is released?
SPEAKER_07Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, those are my thoughts for final for final episode.
SPEAKER_05Sorry. I mean, I do believe that the other personality is going to show up. I'm interested to see that now that the scales are balanced, it looks like Mark got transferred to quote unquote paradise. So I'm curious to see how he's going to get out of there. Or is what was the god's name that she named? Was it Osiris? Remember, she was like, Osiris? Oh, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Osiris is the god, the god of the other room. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. So I'm wondering, are we gonna see Osiris next? And Osiris is gonna allow Mark to go back to the mortal realm.
SPEAKER_00I hope so, because I love Osiris. I like look, random fact, Osiris is one of my favorite Egyptian deities.
SPEAKER_05Um and then you don't know what's going on with Layla. So I'm curious to know, did she get caught? Did she escape? Did did she was she one of the souls that you saw falling? Like she's in stars? Like what happened with her? Um also I'm interested to see what would be the final form of his suit. Will it be Mark's version or Steven's version? Because I think right now in the comic book, they're doing Steven's version, which is the more you know, tuxedo look. Um yeah, I also want to see how the other gods deal with this egg on their face that they just you know got on there because they thought Kan Shu was being was lying and being.
SPEAKER_02I think I need Konshu to read them for so much filth.
unknownThank you.
SPEAKER_05Like I just needed that for like five minutes for him to read them for filth and put them in statues, even if it just feels like it's like decade, just something. Like, because I told you, I warned you, you thought I was a lunatic and lying, and then you believe this guy who used to be my avatar that clearly holds a judge, a grudge against me. Like, what the fuck? Who listened to that?
SPEAKER_02Like, I mean, don't listen to neither one. In invest the fucking game.
SPEAKER_04Like, well, we didn't even have to go that far because he was walking with it with the stats, remember? Like he had it in his hand, he had a whole tattoo there and everything. Like, so it's just like y'all didn't even look, y'all didn't know.
SPEAKER_00I think I think he walked in there without the stats. I think he did. I think he did that like hand behind his back, hobble.
unknownYeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05But he didn't erase the tattoo off his arm.
SPEAKER_02No, the tattoo was right there. Right was right right there. And and and and mark knew about it. Consu should have known about it.
SPEAKER_05So so the evidence was was kind of was there. They just didn't look for it.
SPEAKER_02Oh hey, hey, they're they're they're they're trying to excavate this this uh this damn tomb over here.
SPEAKER_05Look, right, right. I assume right, so I just yeah, I want to see that. Um I also am curious to know what other gods have they imprisoned because remember when they zoomed out.
SPEAKER_00We did see some other ones in there, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Like it was like a whole wall. Like, who else you got locked up?
SPEAKER_00Like it looked like Jacob's figure cabinet.
SPEAKER_03So when Hera was inside the pyramid talking to the other gods, one he had his sleeves all the way up to his wrists, so you couldn't see the tattoo. And yes, you are correct, he didn't have the the uh cane or the staff with him. He was, like you said, hobbling with his hands behind his back. So he made sure to he he knew because he knows uh Kanchu, he made sure to have any evidence that would uh incriminate him on site, not with him and not visible. Um, and he knew that the uh because of how Kanchu was going to act, uh, which pretty much he played Kanchu uh or played to Kanchu's uh uh what he knows about Kanchu.
SPEAKER_02He played he played he played to his weakness, but um, but a hundred percent uh 100 cotton wouldn't save you in regular court. So sure as hell, shouldn't have saved you. Um that situation happens all the time in court. But what what situation? Uh a tattoo that somebody else already.
SPEAKER_03I'm not talking about the tattoo. I'm literally talking about if you look at the uh at the defense, at the prosecution, they're obviously insane, they're not in their right mind.
SPEAKER_02No, no, no, I get no no, I get that part. I'm just saying that's that shouldn't have been enough. What should have been enough? That that they that that they bel they that they thought what's the name was more trustworthy. There was no investigation, they just said, What do you what do you say? What do you say? Oh, we didn't see him do nothing. You like you didn't look to see if he did anything.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you never did look, but then he also played on Mark's mental anguish, or whatever the way that the trial went, like Konsu first off called it immediately. They were already annoyed about that because they don't fuck with Consu. So when they walked in and they brought him in, he's hobbling like an old man. Uh, Mark brings up the fact, or Consu and Mark bring up the fact that they're excavating on its tomb. They ask him, is that true? He's like, No, I'm just on holiday in Egypt. Is that not a crime? And then he immediately switches over to the like uh Dr. Korzel just said, over to the mental state of Mark and how he's being uh treated by Consu and how Consu is unstable. So he never allowed the trial to go in that direction, which is literally what a prosecutor would do is smoke and mirrors divert the attention away from what I'm doing. Because he didn't lie, he literally was in Egypt on vacation. He just so happened to be doing other things while he was there. So the investigation couldn't take place because he'd already diverted the attention towards Konshu's unstableness and Mark being ill. That's right. And he knew that, which is he played to those particular strengths and he played to those. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, the the the thing is consu knew it was gonna be a trial, and consume being crazy or not, he did he part some of his screams should have been the evidence that that he knew about.
SPEAKER_03You are 100% correct, but he knew Konsu would be able to do that because Consu can't do that shit, which is why he played to those to those weaknesses.
SPEAKER_02He could, that was a narrative thing. There was nothing stopping him from nothing stopping him from doing that, other than they needed him to lose that trial and they and the trial's gonna be losing.
SPEAKER_03I don't think so because regular people who I honestly well, I think we just oh uh uh Dr. Quinzel, or no, it was the Black McCoy just sent that meme earlier about people who have parents who constantly push them down and don't listen to what they're saying over the years. They have the they they want uh you can say it better than I can, the black McCoy, but it's gonna go.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna go read it.
SPEAKER_00Uh um it said too much gaslighting from a parent from a parent as a child turns you into an argumentative person desperate to prove your version of events because you're used to being dismissed in an unfair power structure.
SPEAKER_03And conju's been dismissed in several trials and several situations. He mentioned that when he was talking to Mark before, and so did uh Harrell when he was talking to Steven. So, on numerous occasions has Kantu been gaslighted and pushed down and not listened to. So he was trying to get his point out as loud as possible because he was like, Niggas, listen to me before you start to acting like y'all be acting. I need you to know that we are in danger. Amet is coming back, but they didn't want to listen, and he didn't know how to bring himself back to to proper sanity in time before uh uh uh Harrow was able to make it seem like Kanchi was the problem. That's what I was trying to say.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, well, that the his whole his whole weird state uh not being able to speak different properly, that was his own, like we're not sure the extent of that or what how what what actual his issues was, but but I'm but I'm just saying he should have replaced three or four of his screens with evidence because he knew it was a fucking trial. So so that's it. No, no, the the no the nothing about his past or anything else that changes the fact that he called a trial and he should have brought evidence.
SPEAKER_00I think that's also something that like we might be able to criticize as a narrative standpoint when it comes to like giving God's personalities. Um, because one of the things that I've noticed, regardless of the theology and regardless of you know the belief system, is that whenever we put deities in certain like fiction more almost whoo, whenever we put deities in these kinds of works of fiction, there we go. I had to catch myself. Um we uh have a tendency to ascribe them like personality that is almost entirely mortal, but and it continues to be ungodlike. And so I think that's a byproduct, like I think that is very much a byproduct of what happened there with Konsu. It's like we like the the writing tried to give Konshu so much personality and uh so much conviction behind what he's doing that he became very streamlined in who he was, and so that created this like flaw in terms of like a deity that has been a deity for a while, that is not dumb but reckless in ways that shouldn't make shouldn't make sense for a deity who's been around for a good chunk, if not all of creation. Um, so I think I I I understand why Kaze was like that doesn't make any sense for a god to know that a trial with other gods is about to happen and not have any evidence to the thing that you're making claims about, like any like hard, strong, like undeniable evidence at the or even like extremely incriminating evidence at the bare at the bare minimum.
SPEAKER_05Now you came to the to the court with without everything. You you you had no smoking gun, no nothing.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I yeah, I just I just needed one or two to be thrown out and then and then have and then have Harrow undercut those, and but I needed the attempt. He he literally just screamed. And it's screaming is fine, but say so say something.
SPEAKER_05Say something to make me believe you.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, because soon as soon as you touched the sky, you knew exactly what was gonna happen. You knew exactly what was going down and in what order to put you in. Yeah, uh matter of fact, and you know all about this nigga too. So he so he he he took he he he attacked your character. Like you know he's you know he ain't shit either. Throw his dirt out there, but you know, but you can't do that because you use you know he had to scream like a maniac. Yeah, I wonder, I I was I was I was wondering if the screaming was because uh make because I wonder if it's because Mark isn't complete, or I wonder if it's because their relationship uh is is like fractured. It reminded me of like the Hulks, like most most of the uh most of the Hulks, they just they turn and because you know they're annoyed or whatever, but they're fine. But it's very specifically because because banner doesn't accept the Hulk and and vice versa. Like they they they they they they hate they hate who each other represent, and that's what like causes that schism where like the you know where they they're not they're not the same person, and and sometimes they don't even remember what's going on when they change. So that's you know they it it reminded me of that. Oh, he's muted.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, I'm going back to rewatch that scene and I again I'm doubling down on what I said. Like literally when he walked in the room before uh Haro even showed up, the gods were literally damn near roasting Kanchu about the fact that he was banished and just talking about the fact that why are we the fucker we here? Are you this another one of your things where you just want to say I completely agree with what she said?
SPEAKER_02What you said was right, but what you said wasn't a reason for why he wouldn't bring evidence.
SPEAKER_03But but that's what I'm trying to say like before that, but after all of that happened, he began to say, just check, just look. And then Harold doubled down again and said, You see, he's he's completely he's not in his right mind. And and look, look at his avatar, he's not well. And he said, Let's not talk to Kanchu Mark. Are you unwell? So, like he said, check Hamet's tomb, check where she's located.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, yeah, I let I literally didn't hear that. If he said check, I mean that's that's still not quite enough.
SPEAKER_03But you're right, it's not I'm not saying that he shouldn't have you know calmly said that that that that that but he did say, Look, but again, Harold said, You see, he's babbling, he doesn't even know what he's talking about. That's that's more so what I'm saying. He kept on doubling down and causing the the issue no longer to be with him, but to be with Kanchu and how he's treating his avatars. So that's all I meant.
SPEAKER_05But even if they looked in Amet's tomb, it it was too early because they hadn't really found her tomb. So that wasn't right before the trial happened. They hadn't but it still wasn't good evidence because she was still there. So we they hadn't dug it up yet.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you're right.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but no, if they was like, hey, look in this area, there's a giant team of people here and he's in charge of them. Yeah, then you know, because all you have all you have to if you you use if if you say something and then what you say proves right, then that that that that builds your character and your worth as a witness.
SPEAKER_03And I think I think another thing to keep in mind is that even before then, all of those avatars knew Harrow because he used to be Kanchu's avatar. Yeah, he's meant to so Harrow used to be Kanchu's avatar, and they know that Kanchu's a loose canon, and all I'm not even not even the avatars, the gods already know who Harrow is. So because he was pulled from Harrow or pulled from Kanchu's pulled from Harrow, they already have some level of what's the word, um uh the leverage sympathy or empathy for Harrow because it's like we know what Kanchu put you through. Kanchu's been banished, he's a misfit, all this other shit. So they're already listening, and then it goes back to well, wait a minute, Kanchu, you're pulling a trial on your previous avatar. What what nonsense is this? So you're saying it's not like this multiple again. I totally agree with you. He should have been yelling out evidence, but it's just at that point, there was just so much that uh uh uh hero was saying there's already a lot stacked against him. Exactly. If if if I was one of the gods and I was saying all that stuff, why would I even listen to what Kanchu has to say?
SPEAKER_00Because it's like now it just seems like he's wasting our time again, because yeah, because and also just to kind of add to your point, like Kanchu is the only god out of all of them to not have taken this like uh uh pact of like non-interference, exactly. And so he's the only one that's like you all abandoned the world, like no the world abandoned us. Like, no, no, no, no, you were supposed to stay here and do shit, and you didn't, and I'm the only one who's still here doing anything, and they committed to like sitting and observing. He's like, No, we can't just sit around and observe, and so that already puts him at a very large ideological distance, a large ideological, a large puts him in a it creates a large ideological distance between him and the other gods.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, not that uh I mean, I think I think the I think the trial was going to end up the same. I think I I guess my it felt what it felt like to me is like you watching uh like like say you like you watching your uh your your kid and like and they're fighting like a larger kid. So you know, like they're so so they're about to lose, but you like, but you're looking, you like, okay, but no, my kid about to get some licks in, and then your kid like crouches down and like puts their hands over their head, and you're like, wait, wait, no, that's not what we we we talk, we practice, we did things and then like you know, and then I you know, and they're like, you know, and they get they just get kicked that they're doing the things, and it so it's just like uh like yeah, you gonna lose regardless, but it's kind of like but it's the but it's but it's you know, there's things to do while you're losing, so at least say an attempt was made. And that yeah, and that's and that's what it felt like. It felt like an attempt wasn't wasn't properly made on Consu's part, uh, especially since he in only in this scene was he made to act like that. Yes. Uh so again it was and it wasn't super explained why uh all the other avatars. I mean, again, I we I can you can guess, but it wasn't explained why the conscious had to come communicate like that, and the other guys got to this, got got got 5G.
SPEAKER_00Uh clean reception. I'm sorry, wait, I'm what did you just say 5G?
SPEAKER_06Uh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Fucking come out, cons you ain't got no bars, and the other cars got five five 5G on the Wi-Fi, LT All the shit coming through, and Conside, sir, why can't you communicate it if it was if he ain't got Verizon? If it was this hard for you to communicate, you should have carved some shit out on a rock.
SPEAKER_02Try moving them stars again, you would have gonna or at least fucking uh told Mark what to say so he could just talk normally.
SPEAKER_06That's why I thought that's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_02Uh, because uh because at least because because again, because Mark knew shit too. He could he could just told them what happened and what their history was.
SPEAKER_03Well, and the worst part about that again is the fact that Kanju didn't even give Mark a heads up because he never Mark had never been in one of these before. So, like uh, what was the other guy? Um, the goddess that or the god that uh spoke to him before was that wasn't Isis, was it? Um, was that Isis? All right, I did it again. My bad.
SPEAKER_01No, it's okay.
SPEAKER_00Cooper and I had that conversation because we were like, excuse me, what Isis? You niggas got me saying the wrong shit my whole time. We were so upset at black people in that moment, like bitch.
SPEAKER_02All the people, all these damn cartoons, shows, the the the movies lying, saying shit for for for a third third of a century.
SPEAKER_00This woman, but I think I think it was because um I think her avatar, she looked like a Native American woman, or maybe she was I couldn't tell.
SPEAKER_03She looked like one, yeah. But um, yes, so I think uh we should either do one of two things. Either one, um we should after the final episode comes out, we may do either like a quick we were right, we were wrong type of snippet to add on to this episode or make it.
SPEAKER_00That'd be a waste of an episode. I'm always right. What do you mean?
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Um, I think we should do like a final Thursday up.
SPEAKER_04I don't know, man. Like, no, you didn't. But you're Aquarian energy.
SPEAKER_03I think we should do like a Thursday update and we should include uh a couple of more panelists just to give like a now, this is our final feeling. Because I was gonna say let's score it on a scale of one to ten, but I don't think we can do that without the last episode. Um, but we can try to do that. I think that'd be a good idea. Just like on a Thursday, we do like a real quick 20-minute what do y'all think type of thing.
SPEAKER_05But anywho, um you know damn well that ain't gonna be no 20 minutes. Stop doing that. Stop.
SPEAKER_03Stop. Well, anywho, uh, any final thoughts uh before we close out this episode?
SPEAKER_00I'm very excited for what these other gods look like and for like what are the implications for the rest of the MCU? I'm very excited to see that and how much they're going to interact with other aspects of like the films and these characters. I think the thing that I'm most excited for overall is the interaction between these um MCU shows and the films, um, because we haven't gotten to see that full integration integration yet. And I think the first touch of it we got was on Spider-Man No Way Home when we saw Matt Murdock. Um, and I think the next big iteration we see is going to be Multiverse of Madness, where we see Wanda and maybe Loki, who knows? Um, but we we're not entirely sure. Um, but we are getting some. I'm very curious about these intersections and what that's going to mean for the larger cosmology of the MCU. So I'm really excited about that because this is actually a lot huger um than a lot of people have been talking about, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, no, same. I think that's the I mean, I think that's just the secret, the secret sauce. Every every show gets to uh be good on its own, and then you and then it just gets to take up your mental bandwidth and be like, oh my god, is it gonna be this? Y'all gonna do it in this? You're gonna do it, you know, and then you know, and then they and then they apply it, and it's either is either the just as good or crazier than you thought, you know, or not as good, but then they catch you next time. But um uh yeah, no, I'm definitely uh definitely looking forward to uh even if nothing comes of this other than like him him showing up and like in a Daredevil episode or or or movie or however the hell they want to uh introduce them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, oh yeah, we also got Wilson Fisk in Hawkeye. You may be honest.
SPEAKER_02Yep, yep, yep. Of fell fisk hired hires Mark or uh yeah, yeah, just just seeing where where where everybody gets the plug in. It's really fun and exciting to uh try to guess that.
SPEAKER_03Dr. Quinze.
SPEAKER_05I mean, I can't say I have high expectations because you know I try to keep everything even killed. Um, I'm just curious to see where it goes. Goes and how this is going to integrate into something else. Because everything Marvel does is strategic and it's planned and it always goes into something else. It's like an everlasting knot. So I'm just curious to see where in the universe is gonna go.
SPEAKER_03All right. Well, that is our episode. Um, where like we said before, we're really excited to see um ah, Hathor. That's who she played.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, was that the was that the Ella alligator head?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02Maybe maybe. Some of these have like a bullish or cow oh yeah, some of these have a cow head. But most of them are just uh just a woman. Yeah.
