Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. Them, they, theirs, all of the above and below, the love below, all of you in between, and then on the outskirts, on the lines of the Libya. Anyway, so we are back once again. Welcome back to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast. We are here to talk about something that I have absolutely no taken, no subscription, no stocks, no stakes. Uh it's a topic that I've said on many occasions I will not even be available for. It's spooky season, people. Um and somehow, uh, your your your Lady of Darkness, your uh uh cosplay winner of awards and and championship belt holding um your your your vampiric uh uh twin sister. Like she she has somehow coerced me into this episode. She must have been using her abilities to hypnotize me or something. Uh, because here we are. Spooky season episode, and I'm here talking. Congratulations. Gotta give it up. Come on.
SPEAKER_02Are you happy you got that off your system?
SPEAKER_03But of course, uh, we are here today before I even talk about what we're talking about. Uh, of course, I have to introduce uh uh this lovely panelist uh who has been here from the get-go. Uh she is here today uh through her vacation. Uh, because I I I've said for many a year that she needs to take a vacation. And here she goes on vacation. So she is here breaking the vacation, and she she is she is going to do this episode.
SPEAKER_02I am, because I love y'all, and you know, I'm just doing a little something slight, you know, something slight. That's what I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_03Miss Sione Cosplay.
SPEAKER_02Hello. I say hi. How are y'all? How's everybody?
SPEAKER_03Of course, myself, your moderator, or I mean, I guess co-host at this particular point, uh, Suchino Shogun. Uh, we're, you know, talking about horror. And, you know, for me, horror is not the most particular uh theme or genre to particularly talk about. Um, it's not really my thing. Uh, but she specifically uh wanted to talk about it because it is how she rose. So uh yes, we are talking about horror and how certain films and shows uh tend to gaslight you into putting you into a state of um how you say lowering your guard puts you into a state of comfort, puts you into a state of believing you are on the right path. It makes you believe you're a detective and that you've already solved the crime, and then what a twist! And all of a sudden you got that ass flipped on you. Am I going in the right direction or is it something completely different, Zionate?
SPEAKER_02I mean, you gaslighting the hell out of me with that fake ass British accent that you got. I'm like, what the hell's going on here? Yeah, my reality is definitely flipped and reversed right now.
SPEAKER_03It only happens when I say certain words, I promise. Um so this particular episode, gaslighting in horror, is like I said before, it's about what films, what shows, what titles have led you to believe you are on the right track. Um, there's a variety of different uh movies that I'm sure most of you all can think of that have those specific uh uh plots uh and and plot twists uh that you think it's specifically going in one direction and it completely goes in another. Um I'm gonna let Sayune start this because like I said, I have I all I can do is respond. So uh what's in your opinion, what's an example of gaslighting in horror?
SPEAKER_02Gaslighting in horror. I would say when you can't trust the protagonist or you can't trust the environment. So when everything is kind of not what they seem, um one of these things is not like the other, very much so. So that is what I perceive as gaslighting in horror for sure. Um, and it's just kind of like when your reality is warped, when you think that you have an idea on what's going on, and and then it's like wait, wait, what's what's going on? And um, a couple movies, um, one that is actually non-horror that I think of, just I'll just throw in there, you know, as for shits and giggles. But um, but but I think the number one that a lot of people can resonate with is Silent Silent Hill.
SPEAKER_04You said that's non-horror?
SPEAKER_02Um, well, not that one. I'm gonna do the non-horum later on. So I'm gonna start with the horror per se. But Silent Hill, um, hearing those those damn horns that listen, my nigga, when I tell you that I have PTSD and I've never dealt with that, like I'm looking at the walls, making sure that the paint's not tripping off. I'm like, oh my god. Like, what's going on? You know, with Pyramid Head, you know, a lot of people they're like, oh my god, do I want Pyramid Head to take me? Do I do I don't want him not to? It's like people are like, Pyramid Head is hot, and then you have like the bubble head nurses. Like, I've never seen grotesque creatures, and like you actually have like groupies that are like, take me, Pyramid Head, and and the and the the bubble head nurses. I'm like, nigga, they're gonna kill you. Yeah, so I'm like, okay, y'all, y'all, I y'all sick. I left. I left. But yeah, Silent Hill for sure. Um, and I was never a Silent Hill, Silent Hill game player, but when I did watch the movie, just seeing, like, I would say the environment changed the way that it did, it definitely buckled your head. And it was, ugh gosh. I just can you just imagine immersing yourself in that world? First of all, you go in this world that has a whole bunch of volcanic ash, or just ash from like I think I'm not sure about the lore. I think you probably know more about the lore than me, Susie, since you are a connoisseur of gaming.
SPEAKER_03I'm a connoisseur of gaming, but I ain't gonna lie to myself.
SPEAKER_02So I think what ended up happening, and of course, you know, our listeners can definitely uh fact check me, but I think uh Silent Hill, there was like some more about a town, a town burned, and then there's like ash all over. So when you enter this town of Silent Hill, you just see kind of like it looks like snow, but it's actually ash, ash, and it almost looks like volcanic ash. It's weird. So that's kind of creepy, but I think the the thing that's the most uh disconcerting is when you hear these these this this these alarms blurting out, and then everybody starts running inside the house. You're like, the fuck's going on? You the only nigga that's out there. Everybody else, you know, you gotta kinda take the black lead. Like black, do you see one black person leave, nigga? All y'all better leave because you know that's something about to happen. You know, seeing Bambi leave in the forest, then you gotta go where Bambi's going.
SPEAKER_03Not Bambi.
SPEAKER_02So it was um, it was definitely creepy, and then to see this world that already looked grim and eerie, it turned into something a lot worse. Um, you look like you were in some level of hell and there's no escape. And um, I'm not quite sure when the alarms go off, but it just goes off randomly. You could be, let's say you're in the bathroom. You know, you're thinking, hey, I'm gonna take a nice time in the bathroom, and then you're brrrrr. You're like, oh shit, I'm about to die. Because then you start you start seeing them in the bathroom picture. I'm like, there's just nowhere you can go. Who the hell wants to get get nerfed while you're on the tour? You know what I'm saying? It's just a very interesting um situation that I hope I'm never ever in. That's kind of the hell on earth I don't want. Um, but yes, so Silent Hill and I would say Smile was another good movie that I watched where you can't really trust the the protagonist either. And um, I think with the lore, oh gosh, I'm trying to remember. All I know is that if you see somebody that has this weird devilish smile, it's already too late and you're gonna have very unfortunate events happen to you in the next coming of days, but you are gonna die. There's no way around like you see somebody give this creepy ass smile, and then they it's also very triggering because there's a lot of self-harm, um, they automatically commit suicide. Um, so it's it's it's very triggering. So I would say for any listeners, if you are dealing with a lot of mental health, um possibly stay away from that movie if you're dealing with depression, if you're dealing with ideation, not the best movie to watch. I would say it's not the best movie to watch at all. But if you can stomach it, it's very interesting. It's it's a psychological and I would say bodily harm type of um or um and I would say another movie that I watched recently recently was um oh my gosh, it's the one with the hands. Oh goodness, I just watched it in the movie theater because um let me in or not let me in. Uh CG, I don't remember, but I'm gonna I'm gonna come back to it. But it's a it is a movie that just came out in the movie theater, and it was about like some type of hand that was mummified, and if you touch it, you get possessed by these spirits. And so what ends up happening is that um you see a lot of these teenagers. Like, you know how back in the 90s you had dare, but you know, you're worried about like, oh, don't smoke that pot, don't smoke that crack. You know, you had dare uh publicized everywhere to promote kind of well-being and staying away from drugs. But this particular one, you start seeing kids getting high off of this hand, they're being possessed by different um, they're getting possessed by uh different um spirits. Oh, it's called Talk to Me. There we go. So it just came out, it was, I think it was a part of not uh the Adelaide Film Festival of 2022, and it just released um in the US this year, and that movie was very it's kind of like coming of the coming to age. Um you're in high school, you're you might be a little bit awkward, and then you kind of want to fit into a crowd. But what ends up happening is that due to a series of unfortunate events, because I don't want to mess it up for the the listeners, um you end up getting a hold of this possessed hand. And it's kind of going in the perspective of this black girl, which we love. We love seeing black melanated actors and actresses getting into the horror genre. And I think Jordan Peel, yeah, Jordan Peel was definitely a pioneer for having us get away from slavery movies, um, you know, like torture porn of like the mind, of just like prejudice and racism. Like, we black people, we want to see ourselves in fantasy and horror and not get killed off. You know, we actually want to see us in different types of films. Um, so I think I have to give my appreciation applause to Jordan Peel because ever since him, there has been a renaissance of a lot more black people in different genres of movies, of industry that is not solely on prejudice and slavery and black hurts. You know, we we want to feel good too. We want to be scared too, but scared in a different reality, not scared of real life shit that we're actually feeling. So, um, but yeah, talk to me was really good. And let's see, there was another one called Incantation that's on Netflix. It is very slow. Uh so if anyone hasn't watched it, it is an Asian horror film, and I feel like Asians they just have a different type of horror that is very cerebral.
SPEAKER_03Oh god, yes. I child, I mean, I like just in general, uh this Asian horror is for me. There's so many different, there's so many different layers to a lot of the films, and I think that's why a lot of people on this side, the Westerns, Westerners as they call themselves, um, or have been called, um, they, you know, watch them, they watch those types of films to take themselves to the next level of fear. Because a lot of the stuff, a lot of Western horror is really, I don't use the word psychological, but uh most of it is based off of some type of murder, some type of crime, some type of um manipulation. But, you know, a lot of Asian horror is it has different, like you said, different levels. Um, because their culture as a whole, you know, I don't use the word believes in spirits, but believes in ancestral um connections, tradition, and things of that nature. They can easily use things about ancestral history, they can easily use things about certain places in Japan or in China, Hong Kong, anywhere, where they're specifically talking about what happened in those places and how it can impact what's happening in the story. And everybody in that environment, everybody in that culture will instantly know what you're talking about. We have to do our research when when they when they mention certain curses, certain uh theories, certain uh um traditions and things like that, when it applies and when it affects what's going on in the storyline. But for them, it's like, oh, I know not to go there, or I know, oh, test of courage, or you know, all that stuff. So it's like their movies are so layered without the care of who's watching it, it's so layered in different methods of I'll call it gaslighting because there's there's certain things that they're convincing you is is going to take place. Okay, for example, there was a movie that I was forced to watch, because like I said, I don't do horror. Um, and the the movie was called House. Uh, it's a very old, I wish I I wish I did the research on this. It's a very old movie. Uh let me see if I can find it really quick. Um, but it's a very old horror movie. Uh wanna say maybe the 70s it came out. Um, but it is uh based in Tokyo, and it's like a group of girls, and um, they go up and into the mountains. I'm I'm I'm vaguely patching this together. Uh, but they go up into the mountains and they spend the night, and all types of things happen. And these girls are almost uh uh smack dab the non-sailor moon versions of their characters. So like they're literally the humanoid versions, the non-superhero versions of the Sailor Scouts. And they're in this house, you know, you got your Jupiter, you got your Mars, you got your uh uh Mercury, same haircuts and everything, and then this house spending the night, and one by one, then they start disappearing. And you know, in regular horror films, you're like, okay, at least one person's gonna make it, or there's a reason why this is happening, or something like that. When I tell you they gaslit you through this entire movie, making you think something positive was gonna come out of it. No, nothing positive. I'm not even gonna spoil it. You know what? I watched it, go and watch it. It came out in 1977, it's called House. Go watch it because you're gonna come into this movie thinking something's gonna happen. I was gaslit the entire matter of fact, like I told you, I was I was forced to watch it. Sat down, couldn't leave, and I was irritated the entire time. Because I'm I'm I'm I'm this is why I don't watch horror movies. I'm too hopeful for the protagonist and the antagonist at sometimes because I'm like, god damn, let's just make it through. Nope, nope, at the end, I don't even think the antagonist won. I don't know who won. I really don't know who won. I don't I don't know what happened, like it so irritated. Just thinking about it. Cause like they went through all of these different trials trying to rescue their friend, and then at the end of the day, I'm trying not to spoil it. At the end of the day.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you full. We already know they're all day.
SPEAKER_03Even even the ones that you thought were gonna make it through, like they and what's worse, the gaslighting did not no, the gaslighting continued until like the last 10 minutes of the movie. Wow, so you're really thinking something positive is good, like they're really gonna make it. And they shit, they literally they're like, oh no, this no, this happens all the time. I'm gonna continue doing this until the end of the time. It's not gonna stop.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, come on up to the house.
SPEAKER_02Literally how they yeah, yeah, I agree with you. Asian films just hit different. I feel like maybe I can't just say it's Americans because every other film from different countries that I've seen um has had a some type of positive outcome in some way, even in the most grim of circumstances, there is some light at the end of the tunnel. A lot of Asian horror says fuck your light. It is, but I think the reason why a lot of people can appreciate Asian horror films is because it's very real. So there is no happy ending in anything that is in real, let's say if if something like that, yeah, if something like that were to happen, if you're going through something traumatic, nothing is happy about it, you're gonna deal with the trauma, and even if the person does survive, they're traumatized for the rest of their life. Yeah, so I would say they're very much realist in their in their horror genre. Like everybody will feel this shit. Even a person who's alive is gonna feel this shit. And if they feel it, you're gonna feel it as the watch. So I mean, it's very, it's very guttural for sure. Um, it's very cerebral as well. Um, I if I don't if I want a bad night's rest, I will watch an Asian horror film.
SPEAKER_03Like, you know what? That's a really good point. It's and I I if you think about like I I remember seeing a documentary years ago about Western cultured films and how because of the audience, they wanted to make sure that there was always some level at one piece in history, there was they always wanted to make sure certain movies had a happy ending because Western audiences could not just take a all-out scary movie, especially when the scary movie is a documentary, like it's based off of what actually happened. They don't like seeing the negative side of human beings um or the negative side of a story. So they're like, there always has to be a positive, like at the end of the day, somebody has to come out. That that's why, if you really think about it, when you look at the the animes that we all watch as younger, if if you if you watched it with I I'm not gonna do the dub versus sub thing, but if you watched it when it was converted for Viz or kids, Viz TV, um, on this side of the pond, um a lot of the things that were bloody or gory or uh aggressive or nasty or you know, whatever were censored. And they were censored because they believed that, well, studies show, as they always said, that you know, when we see those types of things, it it affects us negatively. Um, you know, at one point they thought that watching anime and playing video games is what caused, you know, shootings. Duh.
SPEAKER_02Oh, don't get me started. That's another podcast.
SPEAKER_03I'm not doing that today. That's not that's for another day. Uh but you know, at for a period of time, that's why they white, I don't use the word, well, whitewash is actually a really good way of saying it, but no, they they they took away a lot of they censored a lot of the stuff that was going on. So same thing with the movies, they always had to have some method of a happy ending, and that's I mean, for me, I I actually that that method of movies is what caused me to not be prepared for the actual horror movies, which is why I don't like them today, is because I realized just what you said a couple minutes, uh seconds ago, Sayane, that in in a real horror or real bad event in real life, there really isn't a positive ending. Like you said, somebody is going to live with that trauma for the rest of their life, somebody's gonna be maimed or is going to be lived is going to have to live with some type of handicap for the rest of their life. It's not one of those happy-go-lucky positives where everything is sunshine and rainbows at the end, something bad's gonna happen, which is why movies that have continuations like Halloween and Final Destination and all those different types of movies. Like, why do you think most, if not all of us in our age range who didn't even watch the movie, saw a trailer or or a teaser, can't drive behind log trucks today? I saw a log truck drive this way past me, like horizontally past me. I flinched. It wasn't even in front of me. Like, and I saw three cars behind it drive two log trucks lengths away from it. Like, that's the type of stuff. I'm like, I don't need that in my life. I don't need my life to be affected because I so the reason why I don't like horror films, real horror films, is because, like you said, in real life there is no happy ending. So all of these are scenario situations and instances where twisted minds or twisted events have taken the lives or taken something from a human being or or or an animal or per, you know, any anything. And because of that, it forever in brands itself. In the mind of the watcher. Like, that's why certain people are afraid to do certain things. That's why certain people are afraid of the dark, because of things they watched when they were kids. That's how a lot of her phobias get started. It's because of things that people watched or situations that people were in. Like you said, those traumas. Like, I watched the movie Ticks when I was a kid with uh uh uh Alfonso Rivera. It seemed like a uh it was it was honestly, it was it was worse than eight-legged freaks, and worse in the sense of scarier in my mind. And it wasn't scary in the sense of, oh, I should be afraid of it, because you know, low budget, it was an old movie, but it was scary in the sense of realistic situations taking place in the movie that could actually happen in real life. Like somebody woke up with one of the it was an overgrown tick. The things were large, probably the sides of both of my hands, and it somebody woke up with it on its on their face. Oh no, see what I'm saying, and it's not like it was eating their face, at least not yet. It they just woke up and it was like like making like the sound they make were the sound they made were so it's like that exactly. So imagine like slowly waking up, feeling like something furry is on your face, and then seeing like the inside of like a spider's mouth, and then hearing that sound. Even if you brush it away from your face, that sound is forever stuck inside your head.
SPEAKER_02Interesting, yeah. I um that's how I feel about centipedes.
SPEAKER_00Oh I remember you talking about that.
SPEAKER_02There's no reason why something so small should be so bad. I I hate it like when I I remember my old house, we had um we had centipedes. They must we must have had them. I hate saying this word, but they must have like been breeding in the pipes. This just saying it sounds gross because we always had like centipedes in the basement. I remember in high school I would get textbooks and I would drop them all on the floor.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02Because I refuse to like, you know, you try to like like get a broom and then they just crawl up the broom, you know what I'm saying? So I'm like, you know what, bitch, you won't take this uh geometry textbook, how about that?
SPEAKER_03Take this rum is bitch.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like sign code that in tangent, bitch. You know what I'm saying? So I used to hate centipede. I still have like a phobia of it. Thankfully, I haven't seen them in the house that I'm in now. But oh my god, I remember I would click on the light and I would wake up. And of course, I look up to the ceiling, and what do I see? This big juicy long centipede just staring at me, like, what's up, my name? And I'm like, oh my god, and you know, they actually hate light. So when you turn on the light, they could just like fall, and it would just fall on my bed. So then I don't have to be like really like just looking like we're we're doing this like eye and eye dance, and I'm like, let me just ease off the bed and um I'm trying to kill the centipede, and then it'll just kind of freeze and just fall, and then you can't find it. I'd be up all night. And again, if you're looking at it realistically, centipedes aren't gonna kill you, but just the horror, the phobia of something crawling that's not that you're unaware of that doesn't make any sound, because centipedes don't make any sound, at least none that I don't know. And then they just like wiggle their nasty little bodies with all the little f phalanges and shit, and then they can just oh my god, yeah, no, can't do it. I'd rather deal with a snake than a I'd rather deal with a snake than a 7 beat. That's very twisted.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, because yeah, with with the snake, it's you there's one place to worry about.
SPEAKER_02The thing exactly, exactly, exactly. And a lot of snakes they actually don't even want to fuck with you, just want to be left alone.
SPEAKER_03100% correct. Stay away from their stay away from their den, stay away from them. That's it, that's all these just want to be where you are.
SPEAKER_02They do. They're like, ooh, your room is moist, as in like your your room is nice and nice and humid, and I always humid, damp, whatever the word is.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I like this.
SPEAKER_04Yes, low.
SPEAKER_02So now my ass gotta dehumidify my room, bitch. I haven't seen that once.
SPEAKER_03So maybe so, okay, so there, so there are different well tears, I guess you can say, of levels of horror, right? You know, gore, psychological, um iced, um, stretch strategic. Like, there's different levels. So, you know, there's one film, um, I did a little research uh before we started. Um, and it uh it has one of my like, I don't say my favorite actresses, but I love her. Um, Emily Blunt. Um so it's a movie that came out in 2016 called The Girl on the Train. And it's uh it's set up as a mystery psychological thriller, so not necessarily horror, because you know how people kind of get thrillers and horrors mixed up. Um but the reason why I brought it up is because of you use the word gaslighting to describe what happens in some of these horror films where you are led to believe something is happening, or you're pushed into a specific direction, and then you find out that's not what's actually happening. So I wanted to know with this film. So the girl on the train, basically, um she is uh her character is a recovering alcoholic, and she's also in the uh in the midst of getting a divorce. And um, while in the midst of getting divorced, she sees like this other uh while she's on the train, she sees the other family and she fantasizes about what that family's life is about and what her life is about and everything else. And as the movie goes on, again, I you know how I feel about spoiling things, but you know what? Spoiler alert, we're just gonna start saying stuff. Um, but as the movie goes on, you find out that it wasn't just her fantasizing about this other family or about this other uh couple, she's literally been getting assaulted and beaten to the point of blacking out and forgetting crucial points in her memory and being gaslit to the point where because her husband, she's about to be divorced husband, um, has been putting and inputting thoughts and memories into her mind, making her think, oh, she's a terrible person, while in fact it's him who is a completely terrible person, to the point where he's like convinced her that he she is his alibi whenever he commits atrocities. Oh, it's it's crazy. So it's a thriller, it's not a horror completely. So I wanted to know, based off of kind of that storyline, what is a another film or TV show that you would say kind of falls in line with like the gaslighting of the production as well as the gaslighting within the characters?
SPEAKER_02I will say one will be a TV show and one will be a video game. Uh but um I would say Evil is a pretty good show. It's uh the protagonist. If if it basically follows a detective, uh this Caucasian lady, and I forgot her name, and then this uh priest, a black priest at that. Or I would say someone of a priest in the making, though he is um, you know, he's not of the cloth just yet.
SPEAKER_04Um, but he is give him grace.
SPEAKER_02I am giving him grace. I am, you know, he did his work, he did his homework. You know, I'm not gonna say what I'm gonna say. Did he go to seminary?
SPEAKER_03What was it, seminary?
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I don't know. All I know is he's doing God's work. You know what I'm saying? So he's doing God's work. So um, you there this lady, this detective, she's taking these very odd cases. And cases of um, is it that the patient or the victim or the the the criminal, depends on the perspective, are they actually mentally ill or is it something supernatural? So the entire time you're you're watching these the series and you're thinking, okay, maybe it's just another patient that mentally broke down. And then you have the the priest that's like, well, I think you know, there's demons and angels. Obviously, this is you know something that is like due to a lack of faith, the pick the person is possessed. So you're kind of going back and forth, like, well, how the show has been going, the white lady is always able to figure out that something is actually mentally wrong with the patient. But then you're starting to see some things, like, wait a second, that'll make any sense. And then you're you're kind of going back and forth, is it reality or is it something that is dealing with, like, you know, a cult or something that is dealing with demons? So you you're always kind of left, I don't know. And I love that. So basically, whether you are a skeptic or a believer, you can take something from both where there are unanswered uh questions, and um, I really, really like that. The visuals with uh evil is pretty good too. I'm not quite sure how many seasons there are, but it was very good. It was something that was again, we have a brother, you know, that is I've that's in a role that I personally haven't seen. And um just kind of you see him battling with his not his faith, but you you start to see why he became the way he became, why he wanted to become a man of Christ, so to speak. So this is very interesting because he too has his own demons, um, you know, that he had to conquer to get to where he is. But people highly, um, highly highly recommend that show. Um, but it definitely plays on the ideology like, is this real? Is this not real? And then my second pick, of course, y'all who've been following me for years, know my favorite game is Dead Space. I love Dead Space, I love the lore, and I love how it is not only horror, it's like horror, sci-fi horror, and psychological horror all in one. Fucking beautiful. Like, I'm personally I know like a lot of people they talk about doom, but Dead Space is in this class of its own only because of the the type of creation of creatures, um, the isolationist, the isolationism that you feel in space where you are your savior. You better figure your shit out. And also thinking that if you you know, a lot of people they fantasize about the zombie apocalypse or what to do if there's vampires, but we all gonna die if we have to deal with necromorphs because we all don't have a minor suit that Isaac Clark has. That's the only way you can kill these bitches. So it's just very, very interesting. Is it's so unbelievable that you don't ever want something like that to happen. That's not an apocalypse that anyone ever talks about. No one ever says I want every happening. I don't want that.
unknownUh-uh.
SPEAKER_02I don't want it. I don't want I don't want to see it. And of course they play on Scientology. Um, again, I'm not hating, I'm just saying that you can tell that there are definitely elements of them kind of playing on Scientology and just seeing little elements of how they perceive, like they have their own religion, you know, in there, they have kind of cult um kind of rooms in there. But a lot of it is that with um, so I'll give you backstory for who whomever has not played or know the lore of Dead Space. So you have a miner and um he his name is Isaac Clark, and he gets a distress signal from his girlfriend or friend or whoever, some some some lady that is that he's very, very much care that he very much cares about. And she is on a ship called the Ishimura, and the Ishimura, I believe, is a part of a mining colony, if I'm not mistaken. But anyway, you know, his his boo is in trouble, so he's like, hey, you know, I need to go there and save my boo, see what's going on. But nobody can get any information from the Ishimura. So Isaac originally goes on that ship with like a crew of maybe a couple people, like maybe four or five, and obviously they didn't survive. And you're not sure if your boo is a lot or not, and you start to get visions the moment you step on the ship. So the entire time, the uh the first game you trust Isaac because you don't, you know, you're just him playing and navigating through the ship, and your main goal is trying to find your your girlfriend. The second game, you start to see that on the ship there is uh an alien artifact called the marker, and what it's doing is broadcasting these alien type um signals to fuck people's heads up, basically, either to murder or either to to you know to kind of change into something that they weren't originally, and so of course they have a help of of a necromorph to actually assist with that final um blossoming of of necromorphism, but um it is a mind fuck to be to to say the least. You're dealing with you know the hack and slash, but you're also dealing with the psychological aspect is that you can't trust the your main playable character, and that's in the second game, and I think that's really why I loved it because you start to even glitch. You're like, damn, bitch, I can't even play my nigga right. So um, I I I love the adrenaline, and again, I personally ironically haven't played Dead Space myself, but I've watched the movies, I've watched people play, I've watched friends play, I've been the cheerleader. I've been like, go get that, do that, shoot that little nigga over there. So I've immersed myself into the culture of Dead Space, but I would say of the the games that you really can't trust uh your character um would be Dead Space 2 for sure because you just can't trust your nigga.
SPEAKER_03Absolutely great. Look, every single time Sayone starts to relive Dead Space, it takes her on a mental journey where she has to go from beginning to end.
SPEAKER_02I would do just in case anybody forgets.
SPEAKER_03So I'm like, you know what? We gotta give her her time. We gotta give her her space.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I'll have a comment. I summarized it. I didn't go off the page.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so another do you remember what's her name? Um uh Michelle Pfeiffer in What Lies Beneath.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_03So I think that is a good example of a Western psychological supernatural horror film, not thriller, but horror film um that induces high levels, like from beginning to end of gaslighting. Because making this woman go to such lengths to get this this spirit away when you the reason why this spirit is here this entire time, you just won't say something, is bananas to me.
SPEAKER_02Now, if you don't mind, because I mean, hell, it's been a couple decades. You are correct, you are correct. Well, what lies beneath, but from and please correct me if I'm wrong. Michelle Pfeiffer, now, wasn't she the spirit of like a wife that died or was murdered, and then like she possessed the new bitch? I don't remember. But I do know that like Michelle Pfeiffer, wasn't she the spirit that was possessing people that was possessing specifically like another woman? Yeah, so to speak. Okay, yes, it's please, please continue. Because I just want to make sure, again, I'm going by like this happened in the 90s, I think. 90s or very early 2000s. So I would definitely correct.
SPEAKER_03It was uh 2000 exactly.
SPEAKER_02Oh I was 10, I had no business watching that.
SPEAKER_03So uh more or less, uh, I mean, you've kind of hit the nail on the head. It's um uh Michelle Pfeiffer's character is married to, I think Harrison Ford was her husband in the movie, I think. Um and she, you know, they're married, they have a daughter, daughter goes off to college, like in most white households. Um, they have a strange marriage after the children, actually, most households, they have a strange marriage after the children go off to college.
SPEAKER_02Um you tried it. I did a little bit.
SPEAKER_03Um then for the most part, what ends up happening is uh Michelle Pfeiffer's character believes, well, they have neighbors, one of they she sees the neighbors having an argument or something like that, and then she feels like she sees a body in the lake. So she believes that the wife has been murdered. So then her and her best friend do a seance that fails, but then she starts seeing like uh ghostly images, like she took a shower, you know, they see the writing in the in the in the in the mirror and stuff like that, and she sees the initials M-E-F, and she was like, Oh, that's the that's the neighbor's wife's initials. Turns out the neighbor's wife actually just went to her mother's house because she was tired of her husband, so she wasn't dead. But then now she's like, Oh shit, where's this ghost coming from? So then eventually she remembers that when they had a rough patch, her and her husband, he had had an affair with this girl named Madison, and Madison's initials is M E F. So now she's like, Oh shit, I'm being haunted by that bitch. So now they uh she goes to visit the homegirl's mama, she gets a rock of her hair and does another kind of uh seance to bring her from the dead to see, like, hey girl, why you haunting me? Leave me alone. And then uh uh uh uh what had happened was she then tries, no, what happens? Um, she has a seance. Oh, and then she confronts her husband, and her husband was like, Yes, I had the affair, but I didn't kill her. And then what happens next? Um, and then her best friend was like, Yeah, I saw homeboy uh a year ago arguing with some girl at this cafe in another town or whatever. So he he she confronts him about that and he denies it. He's like, I've never even been to that cafe, never been to that town. And then and then she finds a locket, a necklace that she knows that he bought that was in the girl's room next to the the lock of hair, and was like, Well, you bought this, and it was in her house, and whatever. So, what happened? And the girl had died the year before, so or no, recently. I forget when the girl died, I don't remember, but anyway, somewhere in the storyline, um, then they're like, Okay, we need to do another. Uh, she possesses her, yes. So the girl possesses the wife like twice. She like she she she does another seance with the lock of. I don't know why these people, these people want to do these seances, but anyway, she does a seance with the hair in her hand, and then she gets possessed by Madison, so then Madison seduces the husband, then she drops the lock of hair, and then she wakes up, she's like, Oh snap, damn, this shit is real. So then, fast forward, then they want to um uh uh uh uh to get the body out. So there's like, okay, you have to kill me so we can get the the demon out, and then you save me. Something like that. I forget. So they put it in the bathtub to help her commit suicide, and then she turns it, he she turns from herself into the girl's twisted face after she died, and he like falls back, break uh hits his head on the thing, and then like a bunch of other stuff happens, but yeah, no, he they eventually find out that he killed her.
SPEAKER_02And this is a movie you said you don't remember.
SPEAKER_03I mean, barely.
SPEAKER_02You gave me more detail than I could remember. So obviously, you're a very impressive in this movie.
SPEAKER_03Little bit. I mean, it's just something that I've seen. I've seen it, but yeah, so that's what I'm saying. Like, he gaslighted her to the end. I didn't do nothing, but I'm like, you could have. I mean, granted, you probably shouldn't have said anything, but like he literally made her get possessed. How do we go to such lengths, my friends? And I correct me if I'm wrong, y'all. I I might have mixed up some things. This is just fleeting memories, so yeah. You already know I have a good memory to a certain degree. Um but yes, okay, so do you have any other because like when I think about some of like the top-ranked, you know, horror films, see like Saw is like a big psychological thriller, horror movie, and certain Saws, you know, certain Sauls are straight to the point. It's like, you know, you're a bad person or you've done bad things, you're gonna get punished, right? But then there's certain ones that to me, and I haven't seen all of them, I'm not gonna act like I've seen all of them, I've seen a select few. And in one of the ones I've remembered right now, I've seen, there is a sense of gaslighting that Jigsaw does to these characters to make them believe that they have a chance of surviving, or that if they get through this, they will be able to go home. And to that to another point that if they sacrifice other people, that they'll be able to get out. Like I remember I still remember that one where they had the the they had to get like pints of blood, and they had like put the girl's hand in the thing to like and he had to like fill up the jar, and and and he was like, Well, if y'all all had cut off like a piece of y'all selves, y'all could have easily gotten enough, but instead you sacrificed the entire girl's arm just to fill up that jar. But if you just done like it was like, and it was to me, it's it's gaslighting for the person in, like, depending on who's watching it. Because if you're watching it and you feel like they did the right thing, And whatever. But it's gaslighting for the people who feel like, yeah, sacrifice that bitch. Let's go on. But all you had to do was really be strategic and look at the it's like a puzzle, but your life is on. It's like uh Squid Games. It's a puzzle, and your life is on the line. But if you if you just pay attention, you can all make it out. You don't all have to die. Most of y'all don't have to die. And then when you get to the end, when you get to the end and there's only one of you left, you can't complete the puzzle. It's because you done killed everybody else who could have helped you at the end.
SPEAKER_02That's true, but also I would I always say that human nature is selfish, and we all think about self-preservation.
SPEAKER_03American human nature is selfish. I I'm I'm not I'm in I'm in the US, so I can put myself in that to this date. But not not every country, not every person is like that.
SPEAKER_02Not every person, but in general, people think about self-preservation. In general, as humans.
SPEAKER_03I'm not saying that we do, but I'm just saying that's just that's just I'm not I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm more so saying we in the US have been programmed to a certain degree where self-preservation is almost a knee-jerk reaction because partly because of how our neighbor or our country or our uh uh uh uh predecessor has treated us. So if we're like, well, if they wasn't gonna help us before, why would they help us now? Now our mind is in a sense of, well, you know, fuck them niggas, I'll do it myself, or it's all about me. They've they've had their opportunity to help me, and now they they is it's too late. And because of be you know, it only takes a certain amount of times, and you know, that's that's why people are like, fool me once. I'm like, uh, not everybody is the person who fooled you, so you gotta be honest. It's difficult. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm I'm more so just saying it's it's difficult for me to just outright say human beings because I've I've been in other places where everybody is self-sufficient, everybody's fine, everybody can survive. But like okay, did you watch um Zom 100?
SPEAKER_02Uh yes, I have. I watched some of it. I watched about a good, maybe like six episodes of it.
SPEAKER_03Damn.
SPEAKER_02Crap.
SPEAKER_03Uh, fudge. I don't want to spoil anything.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay, okay. Fuck. Damn, that was a good one. That was a good analogy. Okay. Um, all right, I'll just do it like this. So in a lot of in a lot of horror movies. Oh, actually, in a lot of zombie movies. I'll I'll say that. I won't even compare, I won't say what happened in that movie. But if you think in in some zombie movies, there's always that dick who oh, perfect. I don't you didn't watch Resident Evil, did you?
SPEAKER_02Um, I did. Oh, which one?
SPEAKER_03Are you up to date?
SPEAKER_02Uh I watched the first Resident Evil movie.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Lord.
SPEAKER_02And I watched the second. I mean, they started to become like Fast and Furious nonsense.
SPEAKER_03Ooh, I can't deny that. Okay. Different movie. Okay. Did you watch Army of the Dead?
SPEAKER_02Um Army of the Dead. Is it the one when they're in Vegas?
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_02Yes, I did.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so you saw that guy at the end, how what he did to the uh Hispanic guy uh woman? Or in the middle, not necessarily the end. Okay, so uh they were going through the different casinos in um in Vegas to what was the purpose of going in there? Uh to oh right, to find the those people who were left behind and to get the money, of course. And um they had to go from one uh uh one casino to another casino, and there was you know, there was a different ragtag team of people, and there was the two Hispanic people that were you know YouTubers, and the one Hispanic guy and then Hispanic girl and then Hispanic girl, she was actually fucking these zombies up, but then the white guy who works for the the uh Japanese guy who sent them in there, she found out that he was a dick and like killed somebody. So he was like, I need to cover my tracks, so you got to go. So he like woke up some of the zombies to kill her, but she was woke them up, like he wasn't, but then he like double crossed her twice, like even locked her in the room where she couldn't get out. Like it was just so what I'm alluding to, there's always that one dick in one of these horror movies that always double crosses or traps people inside the movie, or traps people inside certain places to get eaten, to get killed for their own personal gain. Would you say that that character is an embodiment of the gaslighting? Because at times some people feel like oh, if he's killing people now, he must be the antagonist.
SPEAKER_02Do I think he's a gaslighter? Um, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03An embodiment of the gaslighting of the film or T or TV show.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I can see that. I can see I can see that. I can see I can see gaslighting can be triggering.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_02So I would say in the realm of being triggered, yes. In the realm of being triggered, yes. Um, there's all like okay, like for instance, in Resident Evil, and I will use the phrase Resident Evil, you um you had Alice, and Alice had like the agent, and you thought that the agent was like there to like you know be supportive. He was a gaslighting motherfucker. So actually, he would be perfect to uh to put in that class of gaslighting because Alice, like us, we didn't know who the fuck she was. If you remember like watch, like I don't think Alice was was Alice Cannon in Resident Evil lore. I don't think she was, right?
SPEAKER_03I mean, there is an Alice in Resident Evil lore, but it's not the same Alice.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So basically, we're coming in fresh. Unless you play, like, you know, you played the Resident Evil games, you know about Raccoon City, you know about Umbrella Corporation, but Alice as a character is kind of like when Harley Quinn first came on the scene. Nobody knows the fucking came back. You know what I'm saying? So when you had Alice, you don't remember what the fuck's going on. All you know this bitch got guns in the house. She got a big ass mansion, so to so does. And so when she wakes up and she, you know, she's disoriented, and then she has this whole entire big ass SWAT team come up in the house, be like, State your state your name, Agent Chip. I don't know who you guys are. What's the status? And she's lost, and we're lost because we don't know what's going on. So we're basically we're in her reality, we're in her perspective that she doesn't know what's going on. She obviously has some type of amnesia, short, short grade amnesia. And the only person that she has as a reference point is that that Latin ex guy. Is he Latin? I don't know. Is that a Latin Italian? Whatever, he's non-white. He's non-white, that's all I can remember. And um he's the only person that's giving her some type of support. Like, oh, we like this people, you know what I'm saying? And then you end up finding out that he was the reason why all this shit happened.
SPEAKER_01You're hers.
SPEAKER_02So um, yeah, so I mean, and and she was definitely gaslit because she thought she was married, you know, she thought a whole bunch of things was going on. Well, she didn't know what the hell she was seeing a ring, she saw like a fake uh photo and pose, like picture of a wedding and her supposed nigga or whatever. So she really doesn't know what's going on. But as time progresses, she's starting to see her her fighting skills just happen, yeah, and seeing her ducking and dodging and whatnot, these different types of movie traps. And so she's starting to at least gain a little bit of sense of self until I think I maybe like maybe halfway when you start seeing the Red Queen. Yes, then she yeah, I think when she starts to see the Red Queen, and you know, that little bit of memory start to flood in and whatnot. But yeah, so the guy, the guy was definitely a gaslighter. I know resin, I don't know if you can say resin, uh Resident Evil was was definitely a mixture of horror and action. For me, more action, but some people do have a phobia of zombies, so I'm not gonna, you know, I'm not gonna mobilize that.
SPEAKER_03I I'll I'll agree with you and say that because you you I think you made a good point about comparing it to the Fast and Furious franchise or the Fast franchise, because in the initial one or two movies of both franchises, it was that there's a there's a concept that we were expecting, you know, the zombies, you know, of course, uh Resident Evil. I don't know, I don't well I'll say based off the game and the lore. And Fast and Furious is his own franchise. The first two movies, Fast and Furious and Too Fast Too Furious, I think is the second one, um, or two, whatever it was, like both movies, both sets of movies were still sticking to the main core uh storyline that they were trying to present. And then it was like it slow kind of to this, you know, world world building, if if you will. And I'll say, yes, the well, I'll say the first and second um Resident Evils are horror action films, and then as you get on, then it kind of just turns into this whole action fest with zombies, um, slow motions, uh uh, you know, explosions, all different types of stuff. Uh, but the first two, I think it had a good balance of the action as well as the horror kind of coming out of corners and darkness and all types of stuff. Um and agreeing with you, yes, I think the movie itself was a huge gaslight because, like you said, the first movie we think, you know, if we don't know anything about, and and this because this Alice, although there is another Alice from the from the games and from the lore, we're assuming that this Alice is that Alice. But then she wakes up and she doesn't know what's going on, but she can fight. So you're like, okay, maybe it is that she has amnesia. But then as the story goes on, like you said, they're like, Well, how do you know how to do this? And why are you doing that? And da-da-da-da. And then you get to the end of the movie, like, oh, he calls all this. And then at the end of that scene, uh, end of that movie, going into the second movie, you're like, okay, now, although they've shown how the last movie ended, it cuts, and we don't see Alice for like almost 30, 45 minutes. Because now they're talking about the characters from one of the Resident Evil games, kind of that four, you know, that four-man, two-man cell where they're going into the haunted mansion, into the church, into the store, and stuff like that. So it kind of gives an ode to the Resident Evil games. I hope that's two, might be three. I apologize if it's either one, Resident Evil fans. Um, but as it goes on, then you know Alice, you know, starts coming in more into the movie until she eventually meets this ragtag team. Um, and that's funny. In my mind, that black guy is Luke Cage. I know he's not, but it's it's funny that that's not mine. But anyway, um, but yeah, so it's it's like it slowly starts to turn into this more of an action film once you get into two, into the tail end of two, but you still think, oh, Alice, you know, after the first movie, she's not gonna be taken advantage anymore. She figured out who she is, and then eventually the Red Queen is like, nope, at the especially at the end of the movie, you're like, nope, you don't know that bitch at all. So I think going through all the movies, more and more you're like, oh, I don't know who Alice is, especially at the end of two going into three, and then the beginning of three, and then you see like Alice in the desert and and Alice in the desert, and Alice in the desert. So, yeah, I think that's a good option as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, and you know, and and we weren't just gaslight, you know, everybody was gaslit, except the the nigga that was that that actually um the the nigga that actually was the one who who um who released the T virus because the people that were working there, and I always go back, I felt so bad. Uh the guy who turned into Nemesis, I believe. Yes, um, actually, you know, because we were all rooting for him and Alice speaking up with a couple, whatever. But his sister, he went down to find his sister. And I don't even think I personally don't think that everybody there knew what the fuck they were working on, with the exception of the niggas in the lab. Because you know, you you had everybody that's in that obviously they have clearance because raccoon, um, the umbrella corporation, you know, umbrella corporation, but I don't think they know what was going on there, that they were making some zombie virus, so to speak.
SPEAKER_03I mean, again, though and and this is what I always tell people, you know, when we're talking about like the zombie virus and the T virus and stuff like that. I mean, as a medical professional, you know what T cells, C cells by the seashore are, and um what at the end of the day, at the beginning of the day, not just at the end of the day, at the beginning of the day, they were these scientists were under the impression and under and and what they were trying to do was not find us or work on a zombie virus, they were initially working on a cure for cancerous cells, and and which is what they're doing now in real life. IRL. That's what they're doing now, and they've been doing for years. And what happens is when you're doing certain trials, when you're doing certain experiments, when you're doing certain uh uh uh tests, you have failures. What ends up happening though is you know, because they test on animals, they test on people, whatever, when or they just test on cells. When they find a what's that word, um, Sayone?
SPEAKER_02Um, oh yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_03When they find a mutation, they're they're told, do a little bit more research, let's figure out exactly what this mutation is so we can avoid it, and we can have documentation of it if we come across it again. So when you do this documentation and the wrong hands get on this mutation, that you know, this mutation seems to strengthen muscle fibers, but it causes uh uh uh brain uh patterns to disintegrate. Um so you see what I'm saying? Like it it's so crazy because people are like, if you hear what I'm saying a couple years, let's say 10 years ago, hearing what I'm saying right now sounds like a movie plot. It sounds uh it doesn't sound real. But those who are in the medical industry, those who are scientists, those who are in forensics, hearing these words now, this is stuff we talk about on the daily at work because these are the things that are happening when you're doing these tests. You're you're and but people think it's oh, this is all like you know, uh, what's that word? Um, smoke and mirrors, and this is all plot and all this other stuff. Right, exactly. But I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah, this stuff, like you see, you know, uh fake news about cloned goats and stuff like that a couple years ago. I'm like, no, they've been cloned at things for some time.
SPEAKER_04They've been cloned at things with some time, baby.
SPEAKER_02So it's cloning, yeah, that's true. They have been cloning things for since what, I think late 90s, early 60s.
SPEAKER_03Late 90s, if I'm not wrong.
SPEAKER_02That we know of.
SPEAKER_03Exactly. At our level, and I always tell people there's levels to this shit. Like, people, you know, talk about aliens and stuff like that in Area 51. I'm like, all I remember I I think I read it once when people were talking about, and I see how we always go off on this tangent because every time Sione and I get off this mic, we always go off on this tangent. But uh in previous, I I've read in in a um in a or I saw in a documentary, let me correct myself, where it was pretty much explaining how we watch these movies, we see these TV shows, and they're giving us what appears to be fictitious stories and and and fake concepts and fantasy, but fantasy is not just dreams, like all of our dreams are based off of small things that have happened in reality. So if somebody has caught wind of something that's you you just think people are just out here, people have been talking about aliens in Area 51 for for decades, we've been talking about cloning for decades, people have been talking about uh zombies and everything else for decades. Do you think that's just joke uh stories and fantasy? It's and I'm again, this is not like conspiracy theories, this is literally medicine that has been reported to people on the outside who can't fathom it and say this must be a joke, this must be a fallacy. So to me, that's the real gaslighting. It's in our faces, they're showing us these horror movies, and in our faces they're showing us these psychological horror thrillers, and they're gaslighting us into believing that these are just stories and fictitious things. When in fact, the gag is. I'm saying that the closest that the people of our time have come to a real life psychological thriller was literally COVID. And to this day, there are people who still still don't believe it existed.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, COVID, and you know what? There was a movie, and this is more so I would say a psychological thriller. Uh sci-fi. Quarantine, yes.
SPEAKER_03I watched that movie in theaters.
SPEAKER_02Yes, and you know what, and they had the audacity to play, put quarantine, like they featured it, or it was like it was called virus and quarantine, yeah, around the time of the pandemic. I'm like, y'all niggas ain't shit.
SPEAKER_03It's it's crazy because it's like there there's a there's a percentage of people who watched it and learned something from it, and then there's a percentage of people who watch it and it's like, oh, so all this joint is just the movie? Oh, y'all lying out here. And I'm like, y'all, are you serious?
SPEAKER_02You're yeah, it's a joke. Declassified files, you know, that have been, you know, because over over the years, you know, the the big G, they will release the class, they will actually declassify files. Yes. Maybe 60, 70 years after, you know, when people don't really care. Nope. They're like, oh, well, you know, people let you know that it's real.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's real. It's it's and and and now people are like, and the sad part is now that we the internet is at is is mainstream is not even the word. The internet is integrated into our everyday lives, every minute to minute, second to second lives. Now that this information that has become declassified is now put on the docket, either people are unfazed or people are still doubting it. Like, oh, you know, you can't believe everything on the internet. I'm sorry, you can't, what I'm child.
SPEAKER_02You have to pick and choose. Well, I mean, there's so much, there's there's a I would say there's an oversaturation of of information now compared to how it was maybe about 20 years ago.
SPEAKER_0320 years, that's a really good number, yes.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I would say 20 years ago. Um, you know, when you when we when you got mail and you had AOL. When um I would say that um there's an oversaturation of of information now. So the information is there, yeah, you just have to know where to look. But if you want to find truth, even with like, you know, and I was just having a conversation, of course we always go on a tangent when we talk about stuff, but even international news, um, you know, and and we were I was uh discussing with a friend that there are things that we were not accustomed to seeing globally in the US, but now due to social media and to so many people being integrated into um the the internet and uh you know just any type of connection virtually, we can't help but see what's going on thousands of miles away now. Where before there was a lot more censorship here than people actually really thought about. And you hit the nail on the head when you talk about cartoons. I thought that Dragon Ball Z, we were getting the actual Dragon Ball Z, we were getting the actual Sailor Moon, we were getting the actual Bleach, but we were not. So when our generation started watching Bleach, now we're like, bitch, where the fuck was this?
SPEAKER_04Where was this?
SPEAKER_03Like, this I mean, and you know, I'm not gonna go, you know, I was about to do something, but I'm not about to do it. I'm gonna leave it where it is because I could have easily said something. I ain't gonna say it. There are many reasons. I'll just say like this: there are many reasons, and yeah, we're so far away from gaslighting and horror, it's hilarious. But there are many reasons why a lot of people did not or are not or have not been watching certain anime because of that censorship, that that alteration of what was coming into the country. They're like, oh, our children gotta worry about the children. Timmy and Billy can't watch this, so we have to make sure it's okay for them to watch. So, and and because of those different changes and alterations, that's why a lot of people didn't watch certain anime growing up until now. When they go back and they watch it, they're like, Well, I don't remember this. I was like, of course you don't. That's not what they gave you. It wasn't digestible for you.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes. Sailor Moon. I'll just drop it there and people know what I'm saying. Sailor Moon and also. The the love interest between Neptune Neptune and uh and Uranus. They're cousins. No the fuck they're not.
SPEAKER_03You know what's funny? You know what's funny? Anyone who watches those scenes, even the the censored one, anybody who watches those scenes where they say they're cousins and the way they were touching, clearly y'all, y'all lived in a different part of this country. I ain't gonna say nothing. That's all I'm gonna say about that. Y'all lived in a different part of this country because y'all were fine with those cousins, cousins touching the way they was touching. So that's all I'm gonna say about that one. Anyway, now, like I said, we we we we we've strayed far from the path. And this is this is why we always need a third person. Because a third person would have, I mean, I would have been more prone to staying on topic, but you know, we get to talking, and here we are, uh I think about what almost 90 minutes uh south of our gaslighting it. Hey, we had a good conversation, we had a great conversation, but of course, times must come to an end, and we I think we have like five new topics for new episodes. Um we we we need to have this spin-off the Sayone Savine uh episodes, uh, or or what do we call these?
SPEAKER_02Uh the talking tangents talking tangents was the tenacious Sione.
SPEAKER_05The talking tangents of the tenacious Sione. I need to write that down. Don't you dare say something like that and think I'm hold on.
SPEAKER_04The talking tangents of the tenacious. Oh my god. You are correct. If if I was trying, I would have definitely said something along these lines.
SPEAKER_03Wow. Um, okay, so we have a new series coming out, y'all. The talking tangents of the tenations sent Sione, uh, where she will give you the say the nay of the day. Uh, so be prepared. Okay. All right, no, but gotta wrap up this episode. I of course want to thank Sionet Cosplay for being on with me today. Um, we can be reached as a podcast, uh, the Blurred Spectrum Podcast on uh the blurred spectrum, uh, on Instagram. Wait, give me a second. Instagram, Twitch, uh, YouTube, uh, Facebook, and I feel like we have a Twitter, but Lord knows it's X now, and you gotta have a certain level of XX to be added to X. So I don't think we're doing that. Um if you if you want to see any of our cosplay cosplayers, any of our panelists doing any of that stuff, you're gonna have to get their phone numbers, and I'm not giving them to you. So you you go ahead and do your DMs and see what happens. Uh but Sayone, how can you be reached?

So be prepared.
