Welcome back to the Blurred Spectrum podcast, everyone. We have an amazing episode planned, and guess what? We have a phenomenal episode that has just interjected. So we're gonna move our regularly scheduled programming back a week because we have finally captured her in one place. The the uh uh uh the ever-elusive, always escaping, uh phenomenal stylings, the creative goddess upon our planet that has given us the the ability to taste the several colors of the rainbow.
SPEAKER_05The rainbow, we asked.
SPEAKER_00The the the seamstress, the foamstress, the the the the the comic and video game styling, the the diva representing the Yodowichi uh uh uh uh killing the the Urza Scarlet uh slaying the the the the the the sailor mini moon uh uh I'm I'm gonna stop. Okay. So the phenomenal panelist interview finally for me Skittles.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Woo! Oh it's me.
SPEAKER_04It is it's just me.
SPEAKER_00Ladies and gentlemen, she has avoided this for a very long time. Matter of fact, she was supposed to be the second interview months ago.
SPEAKER_04I don't want to say I enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_00Ladies, the individuals who listen to the podcast, if you go back to Sionic Cosplay's interview and you listen to the last five to ten minutes, I believe you can hear a a young Miss Skittles interjecting her way into the episode. And she was supposed to be next. And as you can see, I've we've done several other interviews since then. So we finally got her. Of course, I have uh before I introduce her, I have to give it up for my uh co-host in questioning uh today, Miss Sayone Cosplay. Of course, your hostess with the most us, your moderator in chief, Suchino Shogun here. And then, of course, we must give the thanks, the appreciation. We're in November. So we must be thankful for the blessings that we have been given upon this earth. And one of the blessings that I believe each and every one of us have been given is this phenomenal woman doing the phenomenally doing phenomenal things, and that is Ms. Skills.
SPEAKER_05Amen.
SPEAKER_04Oh my, y'all are too much. Y'all are too late. This this is why I might have I might have been avoiding.
SPEAKER_00So, as you've known, because you were privy to one and you listened to the rest, this is a very simple interview. We ask a couple of questions to allow our audience, to allow our listeners to get a little bit uh uh behind the veil, if you will, of uh the the the iron fortress in which you have put up to for to defend against the the the weaves and and and the the the evil individuals who want to know more about you. Now, uh we're not gonna ask no passwords, we're not gonna ask no uh confidential information, just questions for your fans and your fandom to know a little bit more about you. Now, I always love, now you've actually answered uh many versions of the who are you, how'd you get started questioning. So, and I've had these questions collecting dust for a couple of weeks. So uh I've had time to modify elevates and change them a little bit. So, my entry question that I have for you is me skills. You have stated in the past that your gateway into anime, comic books, gaming has been your father, I believe. And in doing so, uh, he also took you to your first convention where you saw cosplay for the first time. And no, no, no, no, safe. This is why it's important to ask questions. So he took you to your first convention, and what was the first cosplay that you saw that inspired you to get into cosplay? Aha. Oh, I didn't know where I was going. Oh, I knew I was wrong.
SPEAKER_04Ah I I wow, okay. Um, hmm, that well, I took myself to my first convention. Um, and it was actually on accident. Um I I stumbled upon uh Katsu Khan. Um and uh in going, it was just like well, I I knew conventions exist. I knew conventions existed before Katsukan, but it was just like there's something here in my area this whole entire time that I didn't know was here. Um of course I had I I think I have actually no, I think I went to AwesomeCon before, but not knowing that it was like a convention. Really, it was just like, oh, there's this thing, and people are you know here and they're dressing up and that's cool. Um, but I didn't actually like go in, I was just in the area when it's happening. One, I didn't even know if I could get in because you know it seemed like some type of exclusive event uh in DC. So I'm like, okay, cool. Um, but again, stumbling uh upon Katsukan. Um at the time, the Gaylord was not very strict on badges or who could be in the lobby area and so um so I went in. I went in and and and it was like a wonderland, it was a wonderland of characters I was very familiar with, characters I'd never seen before. And these are all people, I mean, at my time to my knowledge, it was just like it was like these people made these things because as a as somebody who who avently been a part of a Halloween every year of my life, I had never seen these costumes anywhere before. So so I'm like, these people made these things, they had to. There's no way I've never seen this character in my local Halloween store ever. So um uh the the character that I saw, um, that and I took a picture with this guy. I have no idea who he was or anything, but um he was it was Cloud. It was Cloud from Final Fantasy. Um I I anyone who knows me, I'm an actant Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy is what got me started um and interested in character design and illustration. It was it was the game that made me want to be a gamer, it was the game that made me want to wear work for Square Soft back then, uh Square Enix now. Uh it was it it was my everything. So um so I I'm seeing this this this cosplayer with this huge board sword, the hair is on point. I'm I'm talking about not being stranded out of place. He's he's got the body, he's he's he's oh my god. And I was just like, I wanna I wanna try this. Like, I wanna try this one day. Like I absolutely have to do this at least one time in my life. Because like I just could I just couldn't believe it. Um and and I asked him, I was like, well, did you know, did you make your costume? And he was like, Yeah, you know, I made, you know, I made pretty much he was like, there's some pieces that he like bought, but he for the most part, he put everything together. He he did make the sword, foam smith sword, and I was just like in awe. Like, I cannot believe this. But I mean, aside from Cloud, there were so many other people there that you know just were just looking. I I couldn't, I was like, this is uh this is a medium as an artist that I want to get into. Like at no time in my life did I ever be like, oh, I wanna, you know, be a costume designer. But as a as a nerd, I'm like, oh, I can you I can do this. I mean, I started to look at it the same way I uh started to look at makeup when I very when I first started wearing makeup, one of my friends said to me, Your face is the canvas. Wow. I was just like, oh, you know, that makes sense. And I mean from then on, you know, I look at everybody's different niches and and how they do things. It's just it's just a different medium of art um to to create from. So that's how I looked at cosplay. Like this is this is something else. This is another medium I can get to into as far as like character design. Like my mind started going crazy. Um, but uh it was it was just doing it. I had to do it. Yes.
SPEAKER_00Okay, nice. See, see, that wasn't difficult. You was running away from a simple question. Or simple questions.
SPEAKER_02I was like, what?
SPEAKER_00So now I will circle back to the original question that I normally ask all of our panelists, which is, and this is for the people who, you know, maybe this is their gateway episode, right? Um, maybe they just see the word Miss Skittles, they're like, oh, that's my bitch. What's she do now? And they want to know a little bit more. So could you give uh the listeners a, you know, I don't say an elevator pitch, but or elevator intro. But give them the intro to Miss Skittles. Who is Miss Skittles? Um, if you can actually let's do a duo, because you have you do have two profiles. So, who is Miss Skittles and who is Miss Skittles cosplay? Um, and then maybe even explain how they came to be, how they come to fruition. Almost like who is Sasha Pierce? How did it happen? When did your personality separate?
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, okay. Well that question is a little deep actually, guys. I just feel like as soon as you asked it, my mind was like uh firing off. Okay, uh, hmm. So Skittles, Skittles, uh, Skittles. I don't I feel like it's kind of weird, but it's not, but whatever, this is the same place. So um the nickname Skittles actually came to fruition when I was in middle school. Um and it was and it was a simple thing. It Skittles was my favorite candy. I always had a bag of Skittles on me. It didn't matter what flavor, the color, the whatever. If somebody needed candy and they was looking for Skittles, they already knew.
SPEAKER_02They knew who to come to.
SPEAKER_04Tiffany, hey, Tiffany got candy, dog. I promise you she got candy dog. So so they knew it, they knew it was me. And uh, I mean, eventually, like people started calling me that. I mean, because I had other nicknames I had created for myself. Like, I had a I had a I had a profile, I I want to say on uh AIM or my early Yahoo days, but it was like cinnamon, like that was my that was my nickname from the thought, but that quickly changed, but nobody was calling me that. That didn't pick up, nobody pick up so yes, so Skittles quickly became a thing. Um and and people just it just gravitated towards it and they started calling me that. Um, so that is how Skittles came to be now, as far as like personality goes. Um as somebody who's been dealing with mental health issues from a young age, um, to me, Skittles, Skittles was kind of like the the fun version of me. There was like Tiffany, which is me, and then there were Skittles, you know, the the fun, exciting, you know, brave Leo, out of the box, life of the party, um, nobody's bullying her type personality. So for me, that's who Skittles was, and that's who I tried to be the majority of the time. Um now as far like when it comes to like cosplay, uh it kind of it's kind of like uh it kind of like marriage that for me. Um there's you know, there's regular everyday Tiffany, um, who's who's still a creative, still nerdy, still all of those things, but a little a little more reserved, um, because cause like anybody who meet me, you know, they'll say, Oh, you're so laid back, you're so chill. You know, that's that's me on the regular chill. Tiffany is chill, um, and very organized and kind of a control tweak and you know, all of those things. Um, and then when it comes to cosplay, Miss Skittles cosplay, it's it's my opportunity to embody all of these characters that I love. So it allows me to be someone completely different. Um while I might I might I still might be shy in those characters, I'm still I'm still like this this character is my favorite character, and I'm cosplaying my character or my favorite character because of these attributes of their, you know, of what makes them who they are. Um and that's probably well I'm not I want to say it's probably my third favorite thing about cosplaying. Um but it is also it is a favorite thing, it's in the top three. Um just being somebody different, not not worrying about the day-to-day stuff that I normally think about when I'm just tipping, and I'm getting up and I go to work. And again, still a creator because my full-time job is graphic design, and I I love that, I enjoy that. Um I am one of the few people in the world who who get up every day and go to work and do what they love doing. Um so aside from that routine, Tiffany, because I I love routine, I love being uh, then you have Skittles, Miss Skittles cosplay, um, who's who's the you know, if if anybody does follow me or watch my story, when I'm when I'm at conventions, I'm that's when that's when I'm out of control. Okay I let loose. I'm I am I am like the person that people see at work and the person they see at a convention, they be like, bruh, this girl got a split personality. So nowhere in hell that person at work is the same person. Because at work I'm like, you know, this, this, and this, that's out of line. Let me, you know, mm-mm, I don't like it.
SPEAKER_03But like, you know, very organized, very professional, this and that, and then you know, go to go to conventional times or vacation even is like uh Skittles, yeah, at oh shot o'clock, you know, yeah, bitches, da da 13 minutes, let's go, uh just out of control, like doing whatever and I love that I love that freedom of that.
SPEAKER_04I love being in the cosplay space with and finding my tribe within the cosplay space who also can be that way with me. Because you can't be that way with everybody in the cosplay space. It's not a thing. So I you know, I have I have my few cosplay, my co few close cosplay friends that you know I do get to wake up with at conventions or we go together, and it's always a vibe. And and and that's that's my number one favorite thing about being a cosplay, going to the convention, seeing my friends who I I cannot touch, you know, from on a day-to-day basis. Like it's like whenever I get together with these people and they are genuine and genuinely love on each other, have fun with each other, you know, uplift each other. That's what I love about being a cosplay and everyone's face.
SPEAKER_00Amazing.
SPEAKER_04I think I answered your question.
SPEAKER_03I went on a tangent, but did I answer the question?
SPEAKER_00100%. I think you even gave more insights that most people wouldn't even know because it's like if you were expecting turned up Mesquittos when you like just chilling with Tiffany, you got another thing coming. But then if you expected, like, you know, chill timid Tiffany on a stage of Blurricon, again, you got another thing.
SPEAKER_03That's definitely not where Tiffany. The Blur Con stage. Who's that?
SPEAKER_00That's that's like the five that's the final level. That's a final evolution of Meskittles.
SPEAKER_03Final boss, okay. Final boss, main character, big Leo energy.
SPEAKER_05And I might be the victim of this final boss. You know, I don't mind being the sacrifice.
SPEAKER_04You know, I've been meaning to you know victimize you.
SPEAKER_03That's my two. Oh my god, let's wait, not in front of the people, okay?
SPEAKER_00I believe you have a couple of questions. You already asked one. Um, but I'll let you continue. I'll put I'm gonna take a step back.
SPEAKER_05Oh my god. Thank you, uh, thank you, Suchi. I appreciate you uh passing it on to me. Thank you. Um I do have a question for the goddess as a worm of the Miss Skittles groupie slash I worship thee on the mountaintop, slash I sacrifice myself into the volcano and say, Yes, please, mother mehafsamal. Well, how do you like to be worshipped? As a worm that that wiggles in the ground looking up and saying, Hello! You know, how this question is so beyond me.
SPEAKER_03It's it's so beyond who I am as a person.
SPEAKER_04Um but if I if I I'll I'll indulge, okay? Um I mean I I don't I enjoy my fan base. I do enjoy my fan base because for for for one, I feel like they're respectable. Um the people who are fans of me have always been respectable, and and that's something I really appreciate. Nobody, I can honestly say, nobody has come at me sideways that claims to be a fan. Like with these, you know, they come with expectations, they come with, you know, you should have done it this way, or I like that, but like I rarely see that in my comments um from the worshipers. Uh but um if if I feel like if anybody came at me that way, if I don't want to say it wouldn't run rub me the wrong way, I just know how to handle myself on the internet differently than I would have in the beginning of cosplaying because yeah. I had I had some I've had people say some really racist things to me on Facebook um in relation to cosplay. Um and and I and I clapped back. I clap back, but when I learned quickly when it when you clap back, then you get it, you go into this rabbit hole, and and then you're like constantly like I I spent hours on the internet clapping back, and it's like, but you have waste you have wasted cosplay time, you have wasted the queen's time. Look, you're you're calling me a queen and goddess and these things of nature. You are wasting my goddamn time. Okay, I don't have time for you. I don't have time for you.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04I have I have other other worshipers who does who just want to see my smiling face on the internet. So that's me. Me. That's me. I am I am that. Oh my god, this is so crazy. Um how I want to be worshipped. I just I just kindness, just simple kindness. If if you share my stuff, I'm even more grateful. But um just just thought just the fact that you came to my page and heart reacted, something that I did, is is good enough for me at the end of the day. Because prior to becoming a cosplay, like I said, I had no I had no you know inkling in in my early years of life that I would be doing this or that I would become uh so good at you know being a cosplayer. Um that it wasn't that wasn't my attention. It was just literally like, oh, I want to do this thing, and I did it, and and other people liked it, and I was like, no, that's cool. So worship me, worship me in kindness, um, worship me in shares, worship me in following if you want to. Um, but just the fact that you acknowledge um that I have a a talent and a skill and a passion or this creative medium that I've decided to just jump into one day is good enough for me.
SPEAKER_05Wow, that was that was that was the PG third PG version of what I was not expecting. I won't be MC17 or NC17 or MA, but I I shall take what the goddess gives me. I will take the crumbs, I will take whatever droplets that I am privy to. So thank you. I appreciate that.
SPEAKER_04I mean if you if you uh so I will I will say this caveat.
SPEAKER_05If you are a friend on the level of a Siam A cosplay, in my in my in my my little I don't I don't I don't wanna say I don't wanna say like high court in my high court friends and you want me to come step on you everyone I shall be human first ever just you know slide in a DM you see ladies gentlemen ladies y'all heard I'm gonna have a part of the high court I'm gonna let y'all know I'm in there alright it's exclusive yeah it's exclusive it is exclusive well thank you guys for answering that wonderful question you know politically correct and uh a little bit naughty at 1 35 p.m. on the Sunday holy day I reached Oh Lord no not adding in the holy day hold on it is the holy day of Miss Gittle So let's hope that matches but uh for question two I do I would love to know how you navigate your inspiration and as a cosplayer it is very easy to lose inspiration it's easy to kind of have you know how you have people have might have writer's block you'll have kind of like cosplay block loss of inspiration how do you stay inspired with your work that that one's hard um because like you said it it does happen I mean as a as a designer and general uh I you know doing what I do day to day there are days where I'm like bro I don't got it I don't got it in I don't even know where to start with this design uh but um when when I am having days like that um I always it's research for me it's always research for me I I spend my time my free time you know like going through Pinterest and and typing in prompts and just looking at artwork and looking at you know the way people make other things some some of the time it has nothing to do with what what I what character I'm about to do next or what I'm looking to do but just seeing other people create or seeing these ideas that people have come up with um I am assuming that they are their own um that's what inspires me like it's like oh like wow like I'm I'm looking at this character design and I'm like oh that's that would be so dope like what if I tried that for one of my fairies or what if I what if I did this you know for added this on to a a character that everybody knows um when I think about creating it's not just like looking at the character and being like let me just recreate this it's like one me recreating it how I'm recreated the things that the materials I'm using the the way I put it together the the um the process in which I go about putting things together um and what can I add to it to make it you know more uh perfect example so Esmeralda is on my list of uh my cosplay list I have a cosplay list and there's about 40 characters on it um and the characters that are on this list they have nothing to do with with what's currently happening or what's cool right now or whatever these are just all characters that I have wanted to cosplay um no matter how old they are or how new they end up becoming if I add somebody to the list um but Esmeralda is a character that I've been wanting to do for a while now now I I've seen cosplays cosplayers do Esmeralda all the time but it I mean not not to say you know nothing about their cosplay is accurate it's on point it's cute it's sexy it's whatever okay so not saying that you know doing Esmeralda as she is in in the movie or her character is you know is there's anything wrong with that but I wanted to bring more to her character um so in research and trying to inspire myself to do more with her character I actually found a limited edition Disney Barbie doll of Esmeralda and the details of it's it's literally the same outfit from the movie however the details that they added to it are just make it I don't know I don't know how to describe it it's just more intricate it's it's beautiful it's it's like timely um so that version that's the version I was like you know what that's the version I want to do that's the version that I want to bring to cosplay um and I haven't seen anybody do it so so that that's just a plus for me um now is the pattern because the the print is very intricate and I'm sure I'm not gonna find a fabric that looks exactly like that but um as a creative I can find something that's similar to that and and make it my own but also mimic what what the original piece that I that I found was so when it comes to being inspired to to do something more um I just look I just do research I just look across the I mean that's what the internet is for right um I don't copy people's stuff I just use it as you know like uh inspiration it's like oh look at that you know a lot of times you you put yourself in a box that you didn't realize you were putting yourself in until you look at how other people create and you're like oh shit that's dope maybe I'll include that in what I do or maybe I'll do that switch it up you know you've got a better way that you think you could make it work for you so that's how I stayed inspired um with cosplay with with um my my original characters um with graphic design all of that very nice very nice well thank you goddess I do have um uh one more question I would say what is the aesthetic of Miss Skittles and I say that because you know there's Barbie core there's a leap core but what is Miss Skittles core so that that is that is a thing that I've never thought about my aesthetic uh my aesthetic is it's kind of all over the place honestly um when it like when it comes to cosplay it's like I don't I don't even know I don't even know how to answer that.
SPEAKER_04When it comes to cosplay I'm I'm definitely not on on the spectrum of of uh complete accuracy because there are times where I've cosplayed a character to quote unquote accuracy and then I'll throw in some shit that I I wanted to do or or I'm I'll hop on the natural hair bandwagon or you know like I I feel like my aesthetic is kind of all over the place. Or because and I love gender bending I love gender bending cosplays um because it gives me a chance to be me I don't I don't know what the word I don't know what the word I'm looking for not femme but like a tomboy like a tomboy so it's like oh like this character is a boy but I think I could be a a sexy yeah yes yes I I throw some some stud energy in there and it's just like oh who's that and I feel and it makes me feel so good and so confident and I'm like yeah that's a bad bitch right there um so my aesthetic is I don't it's it's it's I wanna say it's it's it's like a half and half like because I can go real feminine and I can go real tomboyish but either way it's both those versions are still neat um yeah yeah I'm looking at you know and and as you're as you're talking I'm actually looking at your uh the cornucopia of looks it's it's it's because we all have her her Instagram like images up on our phones at all times like them all the time.
SPEAKER_05Yeah just sal salivating at the salacious selections anytime that's oh my god I couldn't even say that salivating at the salacious selections the thought I had to put in to complete that sentence but just looking at your cosplays and you know I think we all don't think that we have an aesthetic but we actually do and it's very funny when we kind of ask ourselves what is our aesthetic and looking at your cosplays you do have a uh a fingerprint for your cosplays and I've noticed that it's very heavily um I would say focused on makeup while also focusing on the character the character design and even if it's not 100% accurate with the cosplay the makeup fills in the blanks and the type of style with your makeup is always accentuated with the eyes. I notice that you pay a lot of attention with the eyes we got that sexy cat eye vixen I will eat you alive and you will enjoy it type of look. It's it's just very you have a seductive look and that's exactly why you have your hooks in me and I'm just I'm just like a fish just like ah you know I'm just this kind of thing or whatever so to speak. So um but that is your aesthetic that is what sets you apart because there's so many makeup artists but every makeup artist have has their own aesthetic that sets them apart but you're not just a makeup artist you actually are an artist of all walks of life and and mediums and you know you can do cosplay you can do makeup you can do seamstress like there's what is there that you can't do you can do foam smithing so it's just it's just interesting even as a cosplayer you really haven't been in the game that long compared to some cosplayers who've been in the game for like 10 years. And that's amazing on how you're inspired by like hey I can do that too. And then you kill the game for not a new cosplayer but but newer in the sense that you haven't been doing this for 15 years or 10 years. So I mean you've only started maybe a couple years prior to COVID. And that is a a huge feat. You know you have become a household name like I have followers that are like oh my god Ms Gittles like people literally no I'm deadass.
SPEAKER_00Like I have strangers who have asked me about Mosquittles.
SPEAKER_05So yeah I mean to be fair I am a fan of Miss Skittles when I I was a wee lad that no one it was the you know you know I love a good mashup and and Miss Skittles and a mashup of Sailor Moon and and Storm and I they loved me as Sailor Storm yes yeah I I I definitely needed to change my underwear because I was like oh my god I am you know so um yeah so you you definitely have an aesthetic and you have a following and and you have a voice and everything that you do whether it is you know showing using your cosplay in activism as well and a lot of times a lot of cosplayers do not want to press the envelope to um you know uh followers leaving like oh I'm I didn't come on here for that but you're like yeah I'm making this is my page and I I love how you're like this is my page if you're gonna rock with me you're gonna rock with me and if not you can see the door but I'm here about good vibes and actual support and you know I just have to say I have to applaud you because you are just absolutely amazing and as a fan because I I originally was a a fan in the shadows and to actually call you my friend is just just a a huge honor. So um I thank you so much for everything that you continue to bring to the table and I love seeing your genius with each creation that you bring to Instagram to social media and I can't wait to see what other masterpieces you bring to the table.
SPEAKER_04Wow so y'all just brought me on here to make me cry like is daddy go to me that's literally what I do at the end of every episode that we do these interviews how dare you do that Sayonette.
SPEAKER_00Yeah I'm sorry I'll go in the shadow but I I I would like to co-sign actually because one of the things that I was thinking about is when you were talking about aesthetics and when you're looking at you know Miss Skittles pieces and you know when real quick when you're looking at Sayone's pieces if you were to like verbalize it it would be like a sadistic seduction right but going back to what Miss Skittles was saying about kind of that line between you know pretty femininity and then that kind of more masculine tomboyish uh air uh layers for me it's kind of like a uh seductive domination like no matter which piece I'm looking at like there's certain pieces that you're like not even well I'm assuming the character's not meant to be seductive but by looking into your eyes your body language like till this day and I've said this in many an episode that one demon that you did the um uh I was born into it you know I wasn't born in a bad box till this that video live like you know when something lives rank free in your head that video lives rent free like that was was that last Halloween or two Halloween's ago like rent free in my head anytime I need to pick me up in the middle of the day I just remember I was born in it and then the slow motion grab like folding depth into people's face like it gives me life my friend and you know to to to to follow up with what and I really can't because Simon kind of went in quite way further than I definitely could but I'll say the best I can um your skills and your talents far outstretching cosplay because you know she can speak from from from being a fan of your cosplay and being a cosplayer herself I can speak from being a creative and being a fan of your creations as you already know we've been working on certain projects uh both you know graphic design and you know different types of aesthetics and your eye for detail your creative professionism your ability to acknowledge your strengths and weaknesses yet when you find your weaknesses you find your strengths in said weaknesses and I've told you before that's something that I've always admired not only about you but that I I I have to always celebrate you in doing because not many people do it and when you find yourself in a room where people don't do it it becomes very tiresome but working with you you've made including the podcast you've made so many things so effortless because of your input because of your skill because of your capability because of your knowledge because of your your mischieflessness like it's whether whether it's your laughter whether it's your you know eating in the middle of the podcast whether it's your uh your excitement for different projects that we have whether it's your uh your shot o'clock I I performed a shot o'clock at a at a at an event just last week and the first thing that came to mind was Miss Kittle like I was I was doing a toast and I was like you know what shot o'clock and then all of a sudden everybody just went in Tequila whiskey everything so it's like you're you're an inspiration you are a trendsetter you are a you know when we call you a celebrity when we call you a goddess when we call you you know all of these things it's you know obviously you know there's you know this playfulness in the demeanor of how we do it but we we're not just saying it to say it and we're not just saying it to you know float your ego we're saying it because you have created something and you embody something that we can it's tangible we can feel it we can sense it and we can see it every time you post something every time you do something it's not um it's not something that people should take for granted and I I would pray and hope that it's not something that you would say ah nah really no no no really really really really you you have you are the type of friend that everybody needs like and I told you last year I was like damn I lost a friend that's that's that's about it damn and then when you with all the stuff going on in my life when you reached out to me didn't have to um like I said I didn't think we were I didn't think we were gonna be friends. I thought no we're just we're just here for work but no you reached out you reached out to me in the times that was the darkest in my families and it was just to just a check not even a check on me just as just almost like a mental health check but you were just like hey I'm here didn't even think I needed something like that and um you taught me that that's important which is why I do it to you I do it to other people like although I've checked on people the idea of just saying a couple of words like we don't even have A conversation just check in mental health check in to all my people. You do it all the time on social media, you do it all the time to all of the people that you know, people in your phone. Having people are and I don't know, I know it's about the word, but people are blessed to have you in their life, in their circles, in their in their phones. You know, you don't be having everybody in your phone, girl. Um but people are blessed to have to have the ability to have you connected to them in some way, shape, or form. Um, I'm elated, excited, um, overjoyed to be able to work with you, to be able to call you friends, to be able to go out and eat with you in Sine at any given time, uh, because the turn up is real. Uh, we gotta do that again soon. Um I want to make sure, and that's why I really want to do this episode. I want to make sure that whenever we can, we can give you your flowers. So I'm glad that it was Saine that was on this episode. Um because not just the worshiping, not just the celebrating, but just saying um you're amazing. Thank you for being you and sharing you with all of us.
SPEAKER_04Yes. Yes. It is taking everything in my power for me not to like cry right now. I'm just like over here, like, oh my god, people care about me.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, we we love you. We love you. You know, the the the seductive, solstress, uh salacious, whatever, all the actions.
SPEAKER_01All the excess. All the excesses, sexual chocolate, you know, yeah.
SPEAKER_00No, no, no, no, no, sexual cinnamon, sexual cinnamon.
SPEAKER_01Wait, cinnamon, cinnamon, cinnamon kills, cinnamon, cinnamon, toast crunch.
SPEAKER_05Yes, all all of that, yeah. Like, like going from like I really I really was like intimidated by Miss Skills. I'm like, damn, she a baddie. You know, I've never talked to like an internet baddie. I'm like, damn, internet baddie is gonna be on a podcast. I don't know what what do I do? I'll just stay in the corner and just look like like a nerd. And he's like, hey, I'm like, cool. You know, and and to have this internet baddie and to be like very sweet, because a lot of cosplayers know that, you know, when you have someone that you look up to, it's it's very intimidating to talk to them because you know, you think like maybe they're mean, maybe, you know, like they're rude, or you know, they're they're so they're so up there, like who am I? And that's really how I I thought of of Miss Skittles. And so to see that she is so sweet and really protective of the ones that she loves, and it's just very comforting. And um, oh yeah, like I'm I'm very, very honored and blessed to know her. Um, you know, like like Suji said, aside from her being a genius with her art, she is a genius as a friend. So, you know, please, everyone listening, like this this is someone to really continue to follow and to get other people to follow because there is she's just a wonderful presence in this a lot of dark times in the world and in the internet. You have Miss Skittles that brings so much joy and and bring brings you to a place on like reminds you on why you're on the internet for the for the for the two reasons. You're like like this is why I'm on here, you know, a lot of distractions, and you're like, you go on her page, you're like, oh yeah, now I remember why now I remember why am I on the internet? Now I remember exactly. She brings you to the place of I am meant to serve, and this is why. She puts you in your place and you don't want to leave. So yeah, yes, you are you are the goddess that I never knew that I needed. And uh, yes, mommy, thank you, mommy. I'm sorry, mommy. Oh my god. Um I'll go back in my pole now. I'll go back in my room.
unknownThank you.
SPEAKER_04I was not, I wasn't expecting this. I was just here for an interview, and now I'm over here all teary on and shit. Oh shit, oh I I don't I didn't even know what to say. I mean, part of me is like just receive the flowers, and part of me is just like like the thought rarely crosses my mind because to to me I'm just you know I'm just doing I'm just out here doing me. I mean, I'm not doing it. I don't know. I just I don't I my mind is blown right now. Um the the thought or idea uh just I mean Sion ain't saying like she thought like I don't know like it's it's just mind-boggling to me. Um I mean because I've had people like who reach out to me in my DMs and they'll say things like oh my god you responded and I'm like yeah you're in my DMs like like to me I was like what do you like what do you mean I'm I'm on the internet Hello You're a celebrity uh no I I never I never look at myself that way or see myself that way at all you know I'm just another human being out here doing what I you know what makes me happy and if you like it too I I love you because you like it too so um but yeah no the idea of of like actually being worshipper actually have fans um it it never really crossed my mind um yeah I have one I have one last question um for you and I would say what what are what are some final words of advice yes uh when it comes to um anybody that has a creative mind but doesn't know where to start um and especially trying to showcase that creativity on the internet of what type of advice do you have for them to be able to navigate because a lot of people they they want to start but they see the negative side of putting yourself out there so I guess how would you um help them to find the courage to express themselves with their their artistic mediums that they're interested in um so this is actually something I only learned becoming a cosplayer um because prior to cosplay I actually had a uh a graphic design Insta um and I was always so scared to put my work out there like oh I don't want I don't want people dunning my stuff da da da and I think I had that Instagram for a couple months before I deleted um but as a cosplayer uh because I started cosplaying for me because I started cosplaying because I was interested in what I could do um that's that was what helped me put myself out there um of course you know I had I had a support system so a support system is always important like it was always good to have people around you you know give me that extra took like I think you should do that like it's sometimes it's as simple as that I think you should just go ahead and do that like my Facebook um my Facebook Instagram page my cosplay Instagram page because initially when I started cosplaying I only had my personal page and it it was always like an extra push from someone hey you should start a cosplay page you know start a Facebook cosplay page that you know like it was it was just little taps of people's yeah encouragement but at the end of the day it came down to me wanting to do it for me and that is something that I've on I'm sure if any of you have listened to the podcast before um you have heard it from me you have heard it from Sion A you've heard it from um Gwen like cosplaying for yourself is the best way to protect yourself from the negativity there's always gonna be somebody out there judging it there's always gonna be somebody out there that doesn't like what you've done or thinks you could have done it better or has some type of critique for you about something that they don't even know they're they're not you they're not in your space they don't have your creativity or your mind or you know know exactly what you want to do when you want to do things so use that to your advantage use your your your creativity and in what you feel like you have to offer to the world as your advantage as your platform as your encouragement to just put yourself out there um to use myself as an example when I started cosplaying I had no like I have I have 8k following never in my entire life did I think 8k people would care that I a 30 something year old queer woman is getting dressed up in characters I love and then also creating characters that that I created original characters and being like like people people love it and those those 8k people love it and for me it's like yo I I can't believe you showed up here to like my stuff um and because I don't get lost in in the in the I don't know the fog the fog of trying to be a celebrity trying to trying to be a content creator trying to to be more than who I already am like trying to meet other people's expectations who don't know anything about or know you know what my life is like on a day-to-day basis other than my social media other than what I put the what I put out there for them to see um I don't hold myself to their standards and I don't I don't think anybody else should um it's okay if you know if you if you if you put yourself out there and you say hey what you know what should my next house think be that's because you asked them you asked them for that but don't let the internet don't let strangers don't let your 10k your 18k your 1500k dictate what you want to create who you are what you want to put out there when you want to put it out um I mean that that's probably my biggest advice for anybody do it for you create because it makes you have create like if you want if you want if you want to do fucking Dobby and and you want that man's skin to be green fucking do it.
SPEAKER_00Do it I I got I got I got Dobby with the the gang green burnt skin okay who's who like I mean who's gonna tell you that that's not right cosplay is meant to be bright it's supposed to it's it's a a form of expression it's a creative expression um it is costume and anybody can do it I don't care where you're from I don't care if it like I've seen cosplayers from from different cultures only do cosplay in in uh hijab or and it's phenomenal it's like like who would have thought who would have thought but this this is somebody who's doing that this is a thing and and it looks amazing um me never would have never would have thought about it oh I you know so when you put yourself out there it's it's amazing what what you can achieve how you can grow from it what you learn from it um the people you meet along the way um and that's only when you push that that that negative stuff out of your head like oh I can't do this because I'm too old or oh I can't do this because I'm this weight or oh I can't do it because I'm black no you can do you can do all of it in there and take it to the next level take it to levels that people didn't know they need it that's my that's my advice the goddess is spoken oh I can't say anything else after that thank you ladies and gentlemen for joining us today on this phenomenal episode of the Blurred Spectrum podcast panelists for interviews or reviews uh the uh the uh Miss Skittles panel um we are here and of course we have to allow you as as Said Nick Cosplay eloquently put we have to uh give you the space to know how and where you can worship the your goddess uh so please miss skittles if you could tell the listeners where you can be found and where you can be worshipped okay so so uh it's gonna be Ms.
