Welcome, listeners, to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast. We are back once again this week, our second episode of the year. Um, some may call it episode two, season two, I guess, maybe, or maybe like episode 348, if you've known us before 2020, I guess. Uh, but realistically, we're back again and we're talking about something that uh I think all of us have as a as a group, as a unit, have all come to agree, and that is the fact that although we are in 2021, we are still in 2020. Uh things have not been the best. I believe we're officially on what is it, December December 48th, 2020? Is that where we're at? 48th? 48th. So we're navigating, we're trying to figure it out. But you know, some some terrible things have happened, some um great things have happened. Um, somebody went into the closet and pulled out that impeachment dress, you know. Uh we're gonna talk about a couple of things today, and uh uh I want to first uh um announce and uh introduce you to our panelists for today, starting with myself, Suchino Shogun. Uh we also have The Doctor. What's good? We have Kaze Shinryu. Yo yo. We have uh the Black McCoy. We have Sayone Cosplay.
SPEAKER_10Hello.
SPEAKER_01Y'all go peep her on Instagram, y'all. Go peep her, go peep it. Uh we have Minnesota Skittles. Go peep her too. She's about to drop it, y'all. Get ready.
SPEAKER_10Drop it like it's hot. Drop it like it's hot.
SPEAKER_01We got Joe T S G we got shampoo bracelets. And of course, we have us as a unit, which is the blurred spectrum. Welcome. Now, we're here to talk about all of the different things that have happened within the last literally 17 days. Um uh you you would you would have thought that it was already like March or May with all the stuff that has happened. Um, you know, let's rewind a little just a scoche uh back to November, uh, where we thought we were um encroaching upon the most uh uh world or nation changing election known to man, where we're supposed to, you know, fight for our right to change who our nation's commander is. And then um we voted and we thought something had happened and it didn't, and then we thought something happened like a week later, and it still didn't, and then we waited maybe like eight days after that, and then I think you know, Christmas happened and we still didn't know, and then we celebrated New Year's uh and we still didn't know. And I mean, we all knew, but someone said they didn't know and refused to believe that it happened. Um let's let's ask our panelists how how how exactly do you feel? Uh not even feel what what's going on? What what's what's your 2021 been like so far? Uh I think we'll start with uh the the doctor.
SPEAKER_11All right. Um it feels a lot like 2020, I gotta say. Not that different yet. Um yeah, it's you know, it's interesting. I'm not sure exactly what I thought would happen, you know, as far as you know, with you know, everything with the votes being certified and whatnot. And you know, I like I don't think I thought that, oh, they'll all be fine with this, and it'll all go away and everything would be great, but um, I definitely did not expect domestic terrorism. That was you know a little bit outside my imagination for you know what would go on. And I mean, you know, I swear, like white supremacy never ceases to amaze me, you know. And I shouldn't be that amazed to an extent, just because you know it seems like, oh, it can't possibly get worse than this, you know, it can't possibly get more outlandish. But I mean, to have a riot where the Capitol was effectively overtaken, or looks like was clearly had some significant help from within as well, you know, with you know, them getting ones that like Taurus beforehand, and I think there was allegations that they worked with at least three senators uh who you know, I guess were might have been a part of this. Um that's still you know coming out whether or not you know that has merit. That's what we know about the investigation from the investigation so far. You know, and there was one of the goals was assassination of was it a Nancy Pelosi and Mike Pence?
SPEAKER_01Like it's it's just you can't write that in a video game.
SPEAKER_06Insanity.
SPEAKER_01It's crazy. Completely insane.
SPEAKER_11This is something that would be criticized on TV for being too unrealistic. It is just absurd, and you know, it's I guess I'm not even sure what to feel at this point. Like, I'm not sure if you know I should feel relief that it's coming to an end soon, or you know, if you know, and you know, and then we don't know exactly what's gonna happen on inauguration day either. Especially you know, being just outside DC and seeing how it's borderline martial law in a lot of places where you know with like the really heavy, like police, you know, almost militaristic police presence right now, because yeah, like it's you know, there's a sincere threat of something really severe happening. So, you know, America's gotta get its shit together. It really does, um, at the end of the day, and this is something that you know it's it's just beyond the pale in so many ways.
SPEAKER_01No, it's it's it's one ridiculous situation to be in. I think a lot of people, um, and I'm speaking from a uh the child of a um African parent, a lot of our parents came to this country and specifically moved to this area uh to be around the nation's capital, taking you know, opportunities and different um experiences for themselves and their children. And, you know, like we were saying just moments ago about you know it being unrealistic on a TV show or something you would have seen in like the division or you know, a game like that. You're like, what is like you know you're near the capital of a nation and you, you know, there's a certain level of understanding what that means, but you know, the the the terrorism that we have grown, specifically our age groups, have grown to understand, at least hope to understand, has not been what we saw within the last couple of weeks. Like it's it's always when you think of terrorism, you think of something from the outside invading and infiltrating your place and your inside. But it's uh that's uh I mean I said that's what most people think. I said that's what most people think.
SPEAKER_02Um white people think because it's xenophobic, but like for everyone, for like everyone who's not white inside the United States, like we know exactly what white terror what terrorism has looked like for a really long time. I think that like as far as like events like 9-11, those were scapegoats for you know transition, not deferring like ideas of terrorism to people who are non-white, but white people have been terrorizing the United States for a really long time. Yeah, and I mean just not even just the KKK, but like infiltrating like government like direction. It's been a full-scale like winter soldier hydra infiltrating government level type thing.
SPEAKER_04What'd you say, Joe TSG? They've been terrorizing the world. That's perfect. Let's not let's not sugarcoat it, the world.
SPEAKER_09Right.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, they just didn't make it too.
SPEAKER_09This was nothing. They feel like this deadline anyway, even though you know they stole it. They terrorists, you know, the terrorists at the end of the day. Like, how dare you sit over there in the airport crying because somebody called you a terrorist? What the fuck did you think you just did?
SPEAKER_01I'm still stuck on the video where he's like, You're treated me like a black person. I was like, what? That got me. I was like, you're treating me just like a black person.
SPEAKER_11But it's so sudden when you think about how the Black Lives Matter protests were victimized. And oh, these are riders and they're looters, you know, and these were monsters and they should be you know crushed under the full heel of the law. And now we have an actual violent riot. Yeah.
SPEAKER_12But there's a reason why, because like Fox had like, if you watch Fox when they first started, they kept calling them patriots. The reason why they never made them look that way, but they always say what they did about Black Lives Matter and everybody else, because either day, in their minds, the people they were going against, the politicians, the ones in that house, they were the traitors. Those were the insurrectors, those were the terrorists. They were they were fighting for their freedoms. They were fighting for what American values are. Like that's the reason why it's got that's the reason why it's not looked at.
SPEAKER_02I think it's terrorism. I think terrorism is really state right around and started convicting her asses of breaking into a federal fucking building.
SPEAKER_12Uh I wonder if that's just gonna follow through with that. Because some because a lot of a lot of them, some tells me a lot of them sentences is gonna be like a year.
SPEAKER_01I mean, if clearly he's not gonna follow through with it, but we got about three more days, and somebody else will.
SPEAKER_10I hope so. I mean, you hope so. I would hope so.
SPEAKER_02The charges, the charges don't drop just because you got a new president.
SPEAKER_12I'm saying that's I would hope so, but in the same sense, it's like I mean you already done shifted your menu for that one person who needed organic food in jail.
SPEAKER_09I mean, organic when you broke into the Capitol.
SPEAKER_12And not to mention that the one person they did that for was uh I want to say he was head of uh Q and R.
SPEAKER_09Oh yeah, and then he was at the Black Lives. He claims he wasn't too. There's a picture. Yeah, who's gonna admit to that?
SPEAKER_01There's some bold people in this world, I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, bold as fuck. We storming the Capitol, we storming the Capitol is a revolution, and like even you know, like they stole a lot out of Hamilton or something.
SPEAKER_01Like, no, this is like no this is not even even to go back to what uh Shammy B was talking about, like yeah, Fox News was reporting it and originally was calling them Patriots, but like as they were going from the Trump and then they started getting closer and closer to Capitol, they went from Patriots to protesters to rioters to insurrectionists. I was like, Oh, there's a scale, there's a sliding scale now, right?
SPEAKER_11You know, it's bad when Fox News had to acknowledge that, right? As much resistance as they had, they just couldn't play it off anymore.
SPEAKER_02It's like it's like they're like, all right, y'all went too far. Like you like too far. At the beginning, you know, you you know, you're you're adamantly against this, that's one thing, and now you're acting. It's like, okay, you're out in the streets, okay, you're protesting, you know, that's cute. And then it's like, okay, well, you're really like outside of the building, like, and you're starting there's smoke, there's fires and shit like that. Okay, now you're rioting, like legitimately riot rioting outside of the federal building. Oh, now you're breaking in. Oh, now you're inside. Okay. That's always happening.
SPEAKER_10Now you're inside.
SPEAKER_08Like it happened so fast on Nancy Pelosi's desk, dog.
SPEAKER_01Yo, and it happened so fast they couldn't even like spin it to make it sound like you know they were still in the right. It was like, oh uh, uh, uh, um, mm, and reporting that, oh, uh, um, yeah, and they didn't have a chance.
SPEAKER_09They it like it just the whole thing was just like crazy. Like, I don't understand how you had so much police at the Black Lives Matter protest, but all of a sudden a bunch of crackers showed up and y'all got overwhelmed.
SPEAKER_01I can answer that.
SPEAKER_09Like, this man been bluffing these people's chests out for like what three, four months, and y'all were shot.
SPEAKER_01So both Governor Hogan of Maryland and uh uh the mayor of DC, uh Mayor Muro Bowser, both had uh enough officers and enough um National Guards and enough military that they could have sent in to handle that situation.
SPEAKER_02And they petitioned to send them in.
SPEAKER_01The problem is once you put in the documentation, it has to go to a certain person's desk. And that certain person has to approve to allow Maryland and the DC, not federal side to come onto federal ground. And that's the Cheeto. And right and that person, well, no, no, not even the Cheeto, it's somebody completely different. He's the what the secretary of the Army, I think.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, someone in the Pentagon who does it.
SPEAKER_01Right. And he he he literally never responded. Governor Hogan called him, he said, for an hour and a half with no response, then eventually got a call from one of the senators inside the Capitol who was hiding, or not inside the Capitol, they had gone to the bunker in the undisclosed area, and he had gotten a call from him saying, Yo, where are y'all at? I need you to do something. And that's when they sent people in. But they never received permission to get onto federal ground to do something. That's why it looked like that. If you saw all those clips of people just uh the officers just standing on that street lining up, just waiting. They was waiting for the go. Like what's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_09Okay, so let's stick in this pot a little bit, right? So, how many people actually plan this out if he just didn't respond? Like, how many inside people already knew what was about to go down? Like you had certain from other states in that whole situation. Yeah, so how many people in the inside knew is the real question. A lot of just walk away from your desk like that, that looks suspect.
SPEAKER_07A lot of people knew, a lot of people knew because even a week prior to the vote, um, you even a week prior, um, they were already saying how Governor Hogan and Miriel Bowser is getting prepared for it. This is a week prior to all this nonsense. So if the if Governor Hogan and Miriam Bowser knew about it, how the hell does the chief of defense or Pentagon or whatever, how does he not fucking know about it?
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_07He would know before everyone. Yep. You see what I'm saying? Yeah, so for that intel to even be out in public knowledge, he would have to know. So of course it's an inside job. Oh, 100%.
SPEAKER_11I mean, you know, to add to that too, like everyone heard about um what Ina Presley had said about where she was hiding in her office, and you know, they all have they all have a panic button in their office for emergencies like that. Yep, and hers was taken out. Why didn't I actually storm the grounds yet? It was, you know, just happened, so no one had been in her office yet. So this is something where they were like set up in advance.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, because they were saying that like you had a guy with zip ties. Okay, a zip tie means you're about to kidnap some people. Yeah, right. And then you knew they were storming up in there with some guns. Right, you're about to have a hostage situation, they were about to kill some of those representatives. Like, y'all, y'all were not, y'all wanted that to happen.
SPEAKER_12Anytime you see gallows and pipe bombs, yeah, it's uh this was going on for a while. Gallows aren't that quick to make.
SPEAKER_01They are not.
SPEAKER_02It's the French, they've had them shits just sitting around for a while.
SPEAKER_01You can order from you can order them from Amazon, you still have to assemble them. It didn't take that long.
SPEAKER_12I mean, it took like it took more than 10 minutes. Also, a resolution, a revolution.
SPEAKER_07But did you guys hear about how there was a Virginia uh native who was caught with an entire car full of ammunition and a fake inaugural pass? Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I heard that.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that recently happened. That recently happened maybe about a couple days ago. So uh Virginia native, he was he had a whole entire car full of ammunition, fake inaugural pass. And I'm like, you know what? The reason, and I'm thinking, what is this revolution? Why are y'all so mad? Because you're mad the revolution is because you want to keep your white privilege, and you guys are threatened that it's coming to an end. You already have Obama and people were already way, way close. That's why they put Trump in there to be kind of like a like a null. They're like, all right, we're gonna know the shit. Like, nah, we're gonna put the extreme Trump in this bitch because nah, fuck Obama. Now we don't want this. So now you have fucking Trump in here, right?
SPEAKER_08But it's maybe on cult shit, which is crazy to me. Like, it's crazy that these people are are so like like they follow this man to to like like the ends of the earth, and I'm like, for what, dog? Like this man, he first of all, he's stupid as hell.
SPEAKER_09Like, I just I just don't he's the dumbest president we have ever had. Right, wait, wait.
SPEAKER_01So I will I will agree with that. He is the dumbest president in terms of things that presidents are supposed to do, but at the end of the day, don't forget what Trump is. He may not be the best at it, but the Trump is a business. Chicken nugget. Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_03A con man.
SPEAKER_01A businessman, his job, his at least his self-proclaimed job, is to convince people to buy into what he is selling. And the way to do that is to convince people that he can do what he's what he said he can do, and that's why they're gonna buy. Now, that might not work on all these big prof high profile uh businessmen and people with money and all that type of stuff. But if you're talking about people who just want to he's a what normal human beings, you know.
SPEAKER_07But you know, Susie to oh, I'm sorry, go ahead. Yeah. To to piggyback on what you're saying, what's one of the most you know, profitable tactics when it comes to advertisement? It's fear. You know what I'm saying? So Trump is he is very stupid when it comes to intellect, but he's increasing he's a genius when it comes to inciting fear. Oh, comparison. And absolutely that's why people follow him. And Trump is only one person, that's what people don't understand. Trump is one person, one person doesn't cosmic ham. People have already had this ideology for generations. You just needed someone to just kind of spark that flame. So people are like, Oh, I hate Trump. And if it wasn't for Trump, no, it would have been just like this. No, but you have one person, it would have taken longer, it would have taken longer, yeah.
SPEAKER_03But I'm not, I don't know if it would be just like this because it's because they did like, you know, one person doesn't didn't make this, didn't make the whole thing happen, but one person definitely opened the door. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_02And one person definitely opened the gate until let these people storm the capital.
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, like it definitely made them feel empowered. Like these people never used to feel this level togetherness of uh of entitlement. Uh so I I kind of I so I mean I think if we had a regular pride, I don't think this would have happened. They would have had nothing to they they they just would have been in the same state they was forever ago. If it did happen, it would have been happened on a much smaller, you know, scale because they wouldn't have had the their the their cheerleader wouldn't have been in the white in the White House.
SPEAKER_01That's true.
SPEAKER_09You also gotta blame the Republicans that were falling in line with Trump that was helping spew the confusion, hate, whatever you want to call it, about the whole election situation. Like I agree with one of the senators that was like, you should have told them the truth months ago. Yeah, you kept this going for months. So every there's a whole bunch of people that need to be either fired in jail because he's not the only one that we need to blame for the situation.
SPEAKER_01I mean, but I mean, and and and I agree that like a lot of people, I mean, well, let me rephrase that. I do agree that people need to be fired, but the problem is you're talking about senators. Certain senators are in these red states that are are still like if you remember the recount uh and the uh electoral college counts for Georgia, and how if you watch that, I watch I told we were both watching it almost all night, and still, after it was obvious that it was gonna be Biden and uh Kamala Harris, you still Pennsylvania, uh what were the other two? Was it Wyoming? Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, it's always I always get Wyoming and Arizona. It's like still, it's obvious you ain't gonna win, but you still they literally got up and were like, oh, the senators uh and the Republicans have all agreed that we're not gonna let this happen. Still? Really? You're still not gonna let it happen. So it's like Go ahead.
SPEAKER_11I mean, no, and just to follow up, like the terrifying thing is this is a way in which a lot of those senators who are doing that, who are obviously should be, you know, fired for just peddling this dangerous, misleading information about election fraud that's unfounded. But in a fucked up way, they are representing their constituents.
SPEAKER_01That's true.
SPEAKER_11And that's what a lot of those people think. You know, and that's a terrifying thing. You know, but this goes back to this whole idea of you know, like we said, Trump is really both a cause and a symptom when it comes to white supremacy.
SPEAKER_01The doctor's mouth.
SPEAKER_11So The issue here is, you know, it's beyond just a bad politician or you know, these, you know, getting rid of the represent these some of these Republicans, which we absolutely should, but that's that issue of denial, that issue of, you know, this white supremacy that pervades, you know, so much of America in the face of reality, you know. Like it's, you know, people hold on to the racism harder than any facts. So a lot of the time. And that's really the deeper issue that has to be rooted out. And I don't know how we do that. You know.
SPEAKER_09Well, at the same time, with you saying that, like the Republicans have also hurt their party at the same time. Yeah. Because a lot of the people that have been following them and would normally go vote because they've been skewing this, the elections are rigged, they're not going out to vote anymore.
SPEAKER_01They were not. You're right.
SPEAKER_09So it's that was like a two-fold issue. So you're you're saying that the election is rigged. Like one person who just won an election that was a Republican, she was saying that the election was rigged and we should recount. So the the news reporter said, so you know you was on that ballot, right? Same thing.
SPEAKER_03Just the presidential election.
SPEAKER_10Like if you won, you won. But we need to recount. That's what you said, right? Right. So, you know, problem.
SPEAKER_12That's funny too that you said that. Because um, the fact that she denied that so quickly, like, oh no, we just need to do the presidential election. You were really that sure, if you were really that sure on your victory, you would be like, Yeah, man, we count it, I'll win it. And y'all can recount it on what? I'll really get. The fact that she was that quick, the bad title would be like, no, no, no, I was just I was just kidding. Like, no, no, no, no, no, girl, no, hold up.
SPEAKER_02We count all of them. We count all of it. If you're so sure you won, make sure you win twice.
SPEAKER_01Just such a it's such a confusing situation to watch and to you know know that you are a part of by proxy because you have to be an American citizen, do your civic duty, vote, and do all the things you want to do. And then people are people at the highest level are saying that you didn't go out and do what you were supposed to do, or everybody else didn't go out and do what they're supposed to do when it was obvious it was done and it was counted and it was solidified. We've been talking about people tampering with the votes for uh technically, they've been talking about it since Bush uh and since Obama. They're like Obama didn't really win. I'm like, stop. Um, and then you know, when the whole Trump, they're like, oh, it was it was Russia. I was like, that might be, but at this particular time, I don't think Russia was in favor of Biden if I mean I think they would stay along with their mans who's helping them do a bunch of stuff. So who's really tampering with the votes? If you're gonna say it's Russia, if he's gonna say it's you know all these other countries, why would they why would they let Biden win twice? Three times in in several places. Um it just doesn't make any sense. So um so we uh we have gone through a bunch of things since, of course, the uh November election. And you know, Trump was just so adamant about the fact that he needed the count the votes to be recounted, which they were, and then he needed them to be recounted again, which they were, and then he wanted the Electoral College votes to be recounted, which they were, and when they were about to be recounted, of course, as we were talking about the insurrection, as they've called it, uh took place um not last week, but the week before last on Wednesday. Wow. Um, make it a thing. Okay. So um on that day, uh several things uh occurred and several uh thoughts were brought up. Uh many of the senators and many of the representatives um pretty much were saying, you know, at this point, like we were talking about impeaching him because of, you know, things we believed, and although we know he did, we don't have concrete hard evidence because the Republicans will deny it. But now we can bona fide say it's documented on TV. This individual who's supposed to be the president specifically stated, hey, we need the capital, go and take the capital. Word for word is what he said, and that's what people did. So he fueled, he directed, and he commanded a group of individuals to go and take commandeer and create an insurrection of the Capitol building. And because of that, the impeachment that was kind of like, there's no point, it's too much work. If we do it, it may not even happen, he'll fight it. Now it's like, nope, we're gonna do it. We're gonna go through the process and we're gonna finalize it. Not only to that effect, of course, all the Democrats was like, Yep. But then 10 Republicans came over the aisle. It was like, hey, look, I understand what y'all are saying. I know he's a Republican too, but bruh, this is this this I that ain't that ain't my man, son.
SPEAKER_10This nigga gotta go.
SPEAKER_01He's gotta go.
SPEAKER_10He gotta go.
SPEAKER_01Like, I know I'm Republican, but that's un American. I can't do it. And lo and behold, the impeachment went through, which did, and we said this on the last uh episode, it did a but it could quite a few things. It uh prevents him from running again, ever, ever again.
SPEAKER_08That part.
SPEAKER_01It prevents him from getting a yearly paycheck uh of several hundred several, well, tens of thousands, but pretty much over a hundred thousand dollars each year to do whatever he wants with, and also prevents him from using our tax money and our funds to commandeer the Secret Service to go play golf once again. Because granted, he did that his entire presidency. So watching him do him do that, because like think about it. Obama, I'm sure, has one or two Secret Service, but like Obama be like in Fiji and like out snorkeling and stuff. Like, y'all see him uh uh uh what's that thing called? Paddle boarding with uh uh with uh Michelle the other week. I'm saying, like, and I and the Secret Service were out there with he was taking his secret service out on vacation with him. He don't just be taking a team of like Trump took like 10 plus Secret Service members just to go play golf at his resort. For why? I think it's too much money. So, and then of course, on top of that, one of the biggest things of them all is the fact that now that he's been impeached once again, now the trial, once the 20th hits, like I hope I I I hope that literally after the uh uh inauguration takes place, they take his ass straight to the Capitol building he tried to take and put that motherfucker on trial. Like, like immediately. Like two o'clock the inauguration ends, two oh one he should be at the stand.
SPEAKER_07Shouldn't he be tried for treason? Like, I'm curious on but I'm like well, why has not has that not even been like a uh a subject to discuss? Like I have not heard Bretting and Treason yet.
SPEAKER_01I don't think they did, I think they did, I don't think that I don't know, I haven't seen that word either. I'll be honest. I haven't seen that word. I don't think that's not what they're going to do. I think they're trying to use different words because he's the president as of right now. Um even Mitch McConnell said, you know, what he did wasn't shit. And he acknowledges the fact that, you know, shit is about to change. And all of the, I think I believe all of the senators for the most part were pretty much like, well, this is going to take place, but we're going to wait until the inauguration. And within the first 100 days of the next presidency, that's when the trial is going to take place. We're not going to do it right now. We've impeached him. We know what's coming next. We're just going to wait until the inauguration happens and then we're going to move forward with the next step. That's why I'm saying I hope as soon as the inauguration is over, they ship his ass straight to the Capitol and get that trial over with. Like just go ahead and start it. Open a door and just put everything on the desk. Like they should be preparing their books for every single thing he has done. Like, why?
SPEAKER_04He'd be okay. He ain't going nowhere.
SPEAKER_01I didn't think he was going anywhere.
SPEAKER_04He can just stand on the golfing, on his little land and golfing.
SPEAKER_01I don't think they're going to treat him as nice as they treated Martha.
SPEAKER_02Did anybody else see the Purge election year? Yeah. Mm-hmm. This entire situation is a very like spin allusion to the Purge Election Year. Like the fact, and it's and I think I see Donald Trump literally as that candidate that the new founding fathers have put up to run against the woman in the film whose name escapes me because I remember the name of the characters in that movie. That's what happened. But um even the idea that people felt comfortable enough, actually, that people felt empowered enough to storm the Capitol because of an election, not because of the the gross um and egregious like issues with the various institutions and systems that govern the rest of the country or even their local issues with with government and community, but over a presidential election. Which which also like communicates to me that the people who did this don't understand the amount of power that the president actually has when it comes to moving things forward in our country.
SPEAKER_04I think most of them don't understand multiplication, so I I highly understand what the actual president does, honestly.
SPEAKER_02And it's and it's it's it's interesting because even when, even post you know, Biden's um like what 21st win throughout this entire process, we were still like I guess I'll say those of us who are knowledgeable enough are still concerned about the fact, like, okay, so great, we have the presidency, that's fantastic, but there's still one problem. We need to take control of the we need to take house control. And because if you if your party doesn't have house control, it is less likely that you'll actually get anything done with your person as with your candidate as president.
SPEAKER_01Which happened in the first four years of Obama.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_01So it's and and it's I mean, although that was a fear of mine as well, I was still, and you know what's crazy? If y'all, if you guys remember, I don't forget what episode it was, but last year I was like, I think it was the election episode, and I was like, Oh, yeah, great, you know, Biden won. But wait, we got like two more months of sitting here with Trump, and I'm worried about what Trump's gonna do.
SPEAKER_07And low and before some foreshadowing right there.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm sorry. I might have to get into existence.
SPEAKER_04I think it's oh no, I'm sitting here ready for my popcorn, like, okay, what's gonna happen? Let's go.
SPEAKER_07White people wanna do some bullshit. Can we talk about how like all the black people stay at home? Like, I loved it.
SPEAKER_01I loved it. So much unity amongst black people that day. Like, not saying nothing about the million man marks, but the the I felt like I knew y'all were on your couches just like I was on my couch watching it all over there.
SPEAKER_09But not all black people stayed at home because there was definitely some black people that was there protesting with them.
SPEAKER_08And there were some black people there who were getting stimulus checks, but still some cool shit was going on, some some hotel shit was happening, you know, inside inside the capital, but you know.
SPEAKER_04I just want you guys to pray for me on Wednesday because I'll be in DC. Why? Working overtime. So providing support uh for MTPD, so I'll be there, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_05Oh Lord.
SPEAKER_01Oh Lord, I was about to say I thought we were all off on Wednesday. Jesus Christ.
SPEAKER_04No, yeah, they asked me to do overtime. You can't be afraid. They they're making me do overtime. Jesus Christ. But I'm charging them $50 an hour, so that's fine.
SPEAKER_07Okay. I would say $100. Shit, that's your work.
SPEAKER_04Honestly, I have argued. I argue that in my contract as well. So that's that's kind of why it's stuck at $50. I wish I I didn't know this was all gonna happen at that time.
SPEAKER_10Oh you know, but that check will look great, so I'm happy. Well, true.
SPEAKER_01All we need is a phone call and mobile, we'll come out to DC.
SPEAKER_07Right. I'll come with my Jamaican and Nigerian magic, my jerk chicken, and my jello of rice, just let me know. Let's do it, and I'll get the magic popping. So you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_04I'll be all right, I know what to do.
SPEAKER_02Oh several Christmas presents on you.
SPEAKER_04Oh, they're in my trunk. They're on my trunk. That's fine. Excellent.
SPEAKER_01Yay, I did a good job. All right. So, also, there's several other things that you know have occurred with all this stuff happening. I think one of the things that we could all agree on is murder hornets. Not the murder hornets. Man, that motherfuckers. Well, what I was going to say was because individuals have been so empowered, uh, they're now being pushed to do other things. Uh, did everybody hear about the young lady who was a security guard in DC uh the day that the insurrection took place? She uh had taken a lunch break. Huh?
SPEAKER_02Who punched that white lady?
SPEAKER_01Yes. She became a kid. But did you hear what happened afterwards?
SPEAKER_10Did she get charged? She got fired.
SPEAKER_01Not only did she get fired, the lady is pressing charges. Good. No, no, no, no. Not the white lady. The white lady is pressing charges against her.
SPEAKER_10Wait, what? No, no, no, no, no. The security guard. The security guard was supposed to do her job.
SPEAKER_01The security guard, security guard. The security guard was on break. She went to go get something to eat. And I think she was on a smoke break. That's when all of the protesters came down the street and surrounded.
SPEAKER_09And the uh the white lady terrorists. Terrorists, right?
SPEAKER_01And the white lady in question was, you know, uh uh saying, Oh, I just want to be your friend. And then she asked her, you know, did you vote for Trump? And she said, No. Oh, you're one of those, uh, she said, the one of those niggas who voted for Biden. And she said, uh, first of all, I didn't vote for anyone, and I don't have the right to tell you, I don't have the need to tell you who I vote for anyway. So then that's when all the other ones started surrounding her, started throwing racial slurs, started pushing her and shoving her. That's when the lady took that swing and she hit her back.
SPEAKER_09She would have ended up like the girl that got maced in the face. She did get maced in the face. She didn't get maced in the face.
SPEAKER_02The girl who they pushed me down and mace. She didn't get maced in the face.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, I'm not talking about her. The black girl did get maced in the face by the police because the police came over. They pulled her, some of the police put her behind the police barricade and said, Stay right here. Because she was telling them, I need to go back to work. Uh, mind you, they took her shoe, they tried to dig in her pockets, they tried to take her phone while she was recording, and she said, What are you trying to rob me? She's like, No, I'm trying to stop you from doing this and doing that. They police pulled her behind the barricade. Another police officer came around and then pushed her back into the crowd, saying she can't be here. So that's when they maced everybody, including her in the face, so she couldn't see. Eventually, she made it back to work. She changed out of her clothes, because mind you, when they surrounded her, she was wearing her security, uh, security guard uh uh uniform, went back to work because it was covered in the uh maze pepper spray. She took it off, changed, and then she was on her way home. But she had to go back to the police barricade to get her belongings that were taken from her because the crowd had taken it, but the police had gotten it. So when she got back down to the barricade and she went to go get her stuff, I think she said she went to not the first, second, but the third barricade. Another police officer came up to her detective and was asking her questions about what happened. So she gave her information, gave him uh his information, her information, explained what happened, and then he put her under arrest. So she spent several nights in jail after that situation happened. And now the white lady from Connecticut is pressing charges as well.
SPEAKER_02That's why I moved.
SPEAKER_09No, for real. Like, no, no.
SPEAKER_03And and and she ripped off her mask. Right.
SPEAKER_01And none of them are wearing masks, mind you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, none of the people around that's pretty much assault.
SPEAKER_08So, and you know, at this point, she's just you know, she has when I say, when I say um if was she armed um guard?
SPEAKER_01No, she didn't have her uh her stuff because she was off the clock.
SPEAKER_08When I say if I was armed, somebody would have gotten motherfucking shot. Somebody would have got shot the fuck up.
SPEAKER_01No, and it's it's it's it's disgusting to you know the fact the first of all the audacity that she would actually try to press charges when she was the one who did everything. She was the one who's Connecticut, they love to sue.
SPEAKER_04You know, and that's they love to play. They love playing victims and they love to sue. That's what's not surprising.
SPEAKER_11Yeah. And it's just recognizing white supremacy, like knowing that, oh, I have the police on my side.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_11A hundred different times in a hundred different forms. Well, it's a whole like, oh, well, if you like, you know, keep, you know, trying if you keep trying to know what to do, I'm gonna call the cops on you and say you threatened me. Like, it's just that in a different medium. Not the same pattern over and over.
SPEAKER_09How about joggle arrests?
SPEAKER_02That are supposed to matter so much are constantly abused by the people who say blue lives matter the most.
SPEAKER_06Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02I've never in the entirety of my melanated 30 years on this earth seen of seen any reporting, evidence, or video of black people acting towards police in the same way white people act towards police. I have seen white people beat and fight on police and steal their vehicles, spit off, at them, do all these kinds of really fucked up things, and still have the audacity, as you said, to say Blue Lives Matter. And even in the instance of what happened at the Capitol, actually, this is completely outside of the instance of what happened at the Capitol. Because at the Capitol, it was just like, oh, so y'all really don't give a fuck about police. You just think that police are basically the janitors of your social lives to be able to clean up whatever you want to with them.
SPEAKER_04I know one thing.
SPEAKER_01We need to write that one down.
SPEAKER_04They got a good story. Ooh, that's a character female too. Oh, a Karen. Oh, I'm gonna have so much fun.
SPEAKER_01So that would be a very boring game because she would be able to do everything.
SPEAKER_04Exactly. It's gonna be still a police car. I mean, you can do all this anyway in GTA, honestly.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but but the police won't come after her. Man, please stop. I just want to borrow the taking it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but we can do without getting the drones trade.
SPEAKER_03But then we can shoot her.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but it's a game, it'll just restart.
SPEAKER_03Then you can shoot her.
SPEAKER_02I wouldn't say you couldn't. But you would be the character.
SPEAKER_01You're the main character.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, see, there's just no no, I mean, I didn't no I disagree. They're not gonna make it the main character, they're gonna let you shoot it.
SPEAKER_01Ah, I see. Oh, I see.
SPEAKER_03Just like just like just like in Red Dead, they let they let you uh they let you hunt down the uh KKK.
SPEAKER_04Oh they do. Yeah. I've never played it. Let me buy that game. Oh Lord. All right.
SPEAKER_02I was never interested until you said that.
SPEAKER_04Same company. They they they they know what's happening. It never interests me. That's interesting. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so we've talked about the insurrection, of course. We talked about the election, we talked about the injustices that surrounded it.
SPEAKER_02Umong us.
SPEAKER_01You said what? I said, and not the gods among us. Oh wow. Nice. Um Karen's Among Us. So the next question is, you know, what else has happened? What what what are the I mean, we we keep saying we're still in December because you know, it doesn't feel like anything feel, nothing has changed. Let's talk about feelings. Nothing has actually changed. And, you know, it's funny. I I I vaguely believe it was the doctor, it might have been someone else, that said in one of our episodes from last year that you know, a lot of people feel like, you know, the new year is gonna happen and everything's gonna change. COVID's gonna be gone, the injustices are gonna stop, it's gonna be a bit. That was a joke.
SPEAKER_02I think that's just waiting for the water.
SPEAKER_01Someone said it. Maybe it wasn't a doctor, but somebody said it's a belief.
SPEAKER_07I remember what was you know, I remember what was going on. So the I think someone, I forgot who it was, they were saying what people think.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what I said.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it wasn't that someone here thought that would be.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I wasn't saying the doctor thinks that by no means. I was saying they were saying what people think I'm afraid that that's it would actually happen, but we do better.
SPEAKER_08People people literally think that, like, I mean, even with COVID now that the vaccine is happening, like people legit think they're gonna get the vaccine, and then everything's gonna be good. They are completely immune, they they can go out without a mask on and everything in a word, like what? Like, it don't even make sense. Like, logically, it doesn't make sense. Oh, I'm gonna get the vaccine and I'm completely good, and and everybody else completely good.
SPEAKER_07And it takes two weeks. What a lot of people don't understand, just like the flu vaccine, it takes two weeks for your body to actually have it in effect. So people get this vaccine and they're thinking, oh, we can just go out here and put Party. No, it still takes two weeks. And again, it's not a cure. It's more of like a preventative, just like your flu shot. It's like it helps build the antibodies or it helps, you know, your immune system. So this is not a damn cure. Like, I don't understand. People understand also the strains may change. Just like the flu vaccine every single year, they pick four of the top strains that they think will be a problem of that year. And even still, that's not foolproof. So people were just acting very stupid and ignorant and brand new. And so, like, you know, like Mr. Acting brand new, like they just came out the womb and don't know what the fuck is going on. Like, no.
SPEAKER_02Like, no ho, you choose to stop getting together. And I think that part of that misinformation, or part of that, like that um that misunderstanding. I want to I want to say part of it is me, part of it is media, um, because people, a lot of people, I think because and I also kind of I want to attribute some accountability to like the kind of pop culture um state of society that we find ourselves in. And not pop culture instead of like popular culture, but pop insofar as like very quick and digestible, and like, oh, these are the quick little facts I need to get by. It's like, no, there's there's absolutely more to this thing than you are getting from the sources that you're getting.
SPEAKER_04I I'm chalking it up to most Americans just rather stay willfully ignorant.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I I you can blame them, you can say media. That can play a huge part.
SPEAKER_02But like I think I'm saying I'm I think what I'm trying to say is like they stay willfully ignorant because they think that they have enough just based on what they're already getting.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Yeah, okay, I can see that.
SPEAKER_02But they become satisfied with the information that they get, like, oh, I only need to know this because it was said on you know my major news outlet. Oh, okay, cool. Then, you know, boom, I will get in that in and of itself can be problematic because people think they don't need the vaccine, think it's a hoax, they think this, they think that. And it's like people are dying, like canvas, people are dying. Like, I don't understand what the hoax is about.
SPEAKER_04Even after the vaccines, people continue to die.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_11You know, it's this fusion of both an intense fear, which leads to a you know, deep kind of falling into denial regarding the seriousness of COVID and whatnot, as well as just a fundamental misunderstanding of how science works. So, if nothing else, like I feel like everyone in this past year has turned into an epidemiologist on Facebook. They know, in and out, and oh, well, this is how this works, and this is you know what vaccines do, and vaccines have these things in them, and there's just so much misinformation. And that fear kind of facilitates further misinformation because it makes you vulnerable to the things you want to hear. So, you know, you like this though.
SPEAKER_02I literally stopped talking to someone, like I like, I was like, I didn't even say, you know what, we can't be friends no more. I just I just go sit the shit out of them because they told me that they put robots in the vaccine, and I was like, Oh my god.
SPEAKER_10You know what?
SPEAKER_02Chrono's gonna be like, keep gone, girl. Let her vlog with you. At this point, I'm stuck on her freezer. I blocked everything. I was like, I can't, I can't have this person around me. I I I have I I I like I'm malfunctioning trying to even explain it. Like I was like, so I don't need you around me in any capacity at all. So we're this is a new friendship, so but now you you're silly that, so you can go.
SPEAKER_09It's like everybody has lost their own like will to even think. Because like, what in your right mind would make you think that somebody put a robot in a vaccine? Like, even if we're just talking about a microchip.
SPEAKER_02Like the worst part, had the audacity to tell me to open my eyes. The third one. The third one, the third eye.
SPEAKER_05The third, the third eye.
SPEAKER_02I was flabbergasted. I was taken aback. I was appalled. I called for vapors because I could not believe what my southern ears were hearing. I was so I didn't understand. I it was like, how first of all, how dare you say that to me? Second of all, what the fuck are you talking about? It was a lie. I'm sorry. I'm I'm re-traumatizing myself.
SPEAKER_04I just want to say I have gained so many wrinkles because my face is just stuck like all the time. It's just getting bad now. I just like I've been numb to everything since like probably when Trump got elected, actually, is when all of us was like nah it well, yeah. That's actually kind of true. But more so like since Trump became president, I have just been like, nothing surprises me anymore. Honestly, like last year we had so many deaths, I mean like celebrity deaths and whatnot. Like Kobe, I think I was one of the few people that were like, oh wow, that's sad. What's next? Murder hornets. Ooh, okay. Like that actually is like an exciting thing to hear about. Like, I just at this point, and then we have the swarm of cicadas in Virginia coming in the summer. Oh, this is just gonna be fun.
SPEAKER_02Okay, but I think Gael's dropping on Disney Plus next month, so stay tuned.
SPEAKER_07Yes, not that but you know, to piggyback on what the Black McCoy was saying, um, and also uh shampoo bracelets, this is what happens when you have mass hysteria in groupthink. People collectively are very stupid. When you have when you have one little idea and everybody in a group thinks the same crazy thing, people just can't even think for themselves. You take a person out of that group and their individual, it's a very different conversation. That is the epitome of groupthink in this entire US when it comes to certain people. But also, it's mass hysteria. You have fear, you have coronavirus, you have people that can't go out outside of their houses, they're losing, you know, that social interaction and they're losing their fucking mind. So anything irrational, they'll welcome it. You know, the logic and the science is out the fucking door. They don't even care about references. What do we go to school for? What were the references for that we that were embedded in our heads?
SPEAKER_04Nobody left citations.
SPEAKER_07Like, where is the college, you know, the college articles that we were supposed to dictate? None of that.
SPEAKER_04Most of them didn't go left.
SPEAKER_01I was about to say, girl, don't talk about no college, talk about them insurrectionists. Most of them didn't finish. That's not it.
SPEAKER_02They they just barely finished because their parents were like their parents were funders of the college. And if they didn't let them graduate, it probably would have been some shit, some hellback on the college. What were you saying the topic?
SPEAKER_11Um, how about you know, Ms. Son, they were saying about group thing, but I think like in the times when I have been successful at changing minds when it comes to you know how serious COVID is or whatnot, or like the vaccine has always been in a one-on-one interaction. You know, I actually dealt with someone, you know, a family member who like sincerely believed that, oh, you know, this is oh, the vaccine's the um the mark of the beast, and you know, it's gonna be on you and like that patience. Like a mark on the outside. And that'll, you know, and I had to tell them, like, look, you know, not a shot. Yeah, but it will leave a mark, probably. But I was gonna tell them, like, look, you know, this is what I kind of know based on my training, you know, epidemiology, so I this is literally like my area. And, you know, this is something that you know, I'm saying for a place of love. Like, like I completely get like black hesitancy around vaccines and uh around the medical system in general, given how we've been treated, but not all of us can afford to take the same amount of risk with this. Yeah, and this bigger person, this is someone who's you know obese, who is a cancer survivor, who is older. So I said, look, like you don't have the time to wait when it comes to playing with COVID.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_11You don't, because if you get it, you know, and I say this not to scare you, but to give you an honest assessment, you will almost certainly die.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_11Like we're talking, like it is very unlikely you're gonna have a clean survival, you know, with no serious complications of your medical history.
SPEAKER_01And even if it happened to the actor effects are gonna be even worse. Right.
SPEAKER_11Right, exactly. You know, like it's not even just death, it's uh somehow this permanent lung scarring.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_11And you know, and I was someone who, you know, I was definitely a little bit hesitant about the vaccine myself earlier on, and I've kind of changed my mind on that as well now, just knowing a little bit more of what we know with more data and more information we have. Like basically I trust it more than I trust COVID, you know. Yeah, I think about it.
SPEAKER_12I actually have to agree with the doctor on that because I was originally like, I don't really agree with it too much, and because of my work, I kind of have to take it at some point. So it's like so because it's it because I live with that's everybody in the house pretty much outside of me is high risk in some way, shape, or form. And maybe it may be our son who would like I said, but that that's a that's the only person that I that doesn't have an aspect or something, or some nature, or something that puts them in a high risk state. Um now the one thing I do have to disagree with is like the doctor, I have a lot of family members that are that are in some way, shape or form against either I have some family members that are against either the vaccine or just against masks in general.
SPEAKER_04Don't talk to them.
SPEAKER_12Well, the funny part is these fan members.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I have.
SPEAKER_12No, I try to, but these family members are like, these family members are pretty much like parents to me. So it's like, so it's kind of like now, now that doesn't stop anything. I still don't know.
SPEAKER_04Don't talk to them.
SPEAKER_12Uh but like it's after because I like unlike the doctor, I had to come to a uh what I call the Ivan Draco thought process where it's like they die, they die. That's it. Oh no, it's like I've been dropping a family member since I was a child. Yeah, it's like it's like I I don't do it too much, it's just there was these particular ones. It finally got this was the first time where I was like, I just can't. I just can't. So it was like, and it was it it's it's rough to go through that. It's rough to have these conversations with these people that for the longest time you had you learned from these people. Like you watched them go through their struggles, you learn from their struggles, they helped you do yours, and then to turn around and look at them and be like, you know what? I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_04Like it's just like it gets easier.
SPEAKER_02I had a friend, I shared the I shared the Facebook side, and she was like, Y'all don't want to wear masks, you don't want to take a vaccine, you don't want a social distance. Like, what do what the hell do y'all want to do to solve this problem?
SPEAKER_04They want to go to Walmart and shoot their guns. That's true. They want to do nothing.
SPEAKER_02And it's like when you finally lock them all in the Walmart then.
SPEAKER_04Wait, that's a good idea. Let's just lock them all in a Walmart and burn it down.
SPEAKER_01Well, we can't do the second part.
SPEAKER_04They stormed the Capitol.
SPEAKER_01Exactly.
SPEAKER_04I mean, we can get what we can build another Walmart.
SPEAKER_02Do we need to?
SPEAKER_09I mean the employees that follow said rules, we can take them out, but the rest of everybody else got stayed.
SPEAKER_04I don't know about that because some of them employees can go to. If you if you put an application in for Walmart, I I unfortunately I think you might have some issues there. You should have chosen Target.
SPEAKER_02Well, those of you who don't who need to know not to go to work that Yeah work at Target, not Walmart.
SPEAKER_03Uh no, I think the crazy the the craziest thing about the some of the people against the vaccine who who are like delving into conspiracy theory, like you you'll you'll you'll believe wholeheartedly that there might be nano nano machines and in this in in this uh in this vaccine. But but you won't but you won't think twice when you go to the doctor and they plug whatever the fuck is in there, you don't know what the fuck's in there. You ain't you don't ask them, you go get your flu shots, you drink whatever water you drink from the faucet, you eat whatever, you put whatever the fuck in your body, and you go and just hang out wherever the fuck you want. Like, like none of none of this level, like, like if you're gonna believe that shit, then go to the logical conclusion and and it it it and uh and behave in the way in which like nah, I'm not gonna let the man get me. But but you just gonna arbitrarily take this vaccine.
SPEAKER_02Like honestly, I would also say too much easier to get it would be much easier to make water resistant nanites and put them in the water supply. Like no one exactly, you are already fucked.
SPEAKER_09Just conspiracy theory to get rid of them, leave them alone.
SPEAKER_01Stop speaking to the city. You could have said relatives, you could have said personal. You didn't have to say that.
SPEAKER_09And it's been good since the pandemic, like everything. I've heard everything from Bill Gates started the pandemic, the population control. Yeah, I've heard that there's foreign DNA in the vaccine.
SPEAKER_04Holy shit.
SPEAKER_09I've heard the DNA is a cattle or salted. If Maddie wasn't taking it, she wouldn't be able to have kids. I heard everything.
SPEAKER_02What are you having more kids for?
SPEAKER_01Look at Sammy B like Nahbra.
SPEAKER_02What is a worry about having kids for? You look you look past that point.
SPEAKER_04Just want to say also to them.
SPEAKER_08I just care about the the uh fertility concerns with um the don't need to have children.
SPEAKER_04We need to stop like y'all to stop having kids. Like there's too many. Just a couple, please.
SPEAKER_09I mean, I don't think we're on the kids' shoulders with all of the screwing people been doing honestly.
SPEAKER_04Well, we've had a lot of divorces too, so I don't know. I think it balances out. But I will also say, like, looking at how many people stormed the Capitol and were so like outraged compared to like when Sandy Hook happened and all those white babies got shot. Yeah, it was like literally nothing. We talked about gun laws and gun regulation and all this, but nothing changed. Told me all everything I needed to know about America.
SPEAKER_09Wait, but did you hear the NRA just stop? Bankruptcy?
SPEAKER_01Don't believe the hype. Don't believe the hype. That's what I'm saying. Don't believe the hype.
SPEAKER_09Oh, oh, okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01Don't make sense. But uh, the doctor, could do you have any uh insight into what Ms. Skittle just asked about? Uh the res uh the reaction of uh infertility due to the vaccine. Is there any research on that yet?
SPEAKER_11Yeah, I don't think there's any evidence that it causes um anything related to fertility problems or whatnot. And that's also not something that vaccines commonly cause. So women know the way vaccines work um because they all tend to operate off of really similar mechanisms, where, especially for this type of vaccine where they're giving you, you know, a piece of genetic material that allows you to your body to create an antibody that gives you immunity when it's built up. They all tend to be. They all tend to have really similar side effects. So things around like um you might get a fever or something, or like not kind of non-specific flu like symptoms, of course, pain at the injection site, but they all function pretty similarly, which is why you know these wild side effects you hear about, like, oh, you know, it makes you um what do you call it? Like it causes like severe neurological episodes, or like it's I've heard people say like it causes narcolepsy or something like that. Anti-vaccine people have been like it's wild, and you know, that's just not you know, it's just not based in the science at all, you know, and that's kind of the reality. There's only one concern I would have it's not that there's some serious or long-term side effects. Like, I hope this is a vaccine that lasts for a really long time, has long-lasting effectiveness. Yeah, you know, that's my big concern.
SPEAKER_07That was my concern as well. Um, you know, so I'm in pharmacy, and there have been a couple vaccines that are for shingles. So at first a couple years ago, there was what's called Zosivax, and people spore by it, it helps patients with shingles, and they found out that the shingles vaccine at that time was only 30% effective. So then they came back out with um with shingrix, which is supposed to be like 75% effective. So when it comes to vaccines, the reason why in the beginning I had some reservations when it came to um immunizations when it comes with COVID is that it usually takes decades to collect data and you know, for you to see effects on patients, any um, you know, I guess any type of um pros, any cons, things like that. Because there's always side effects with everything, with any medication, there's side effects with taking too much vitamins, whatever. That's normal. But this is like the fastest known vaccine created in history. Even the flu vaccine took about, I would say, 20 years for it to kind of be, you know, I would say concrete enough for it to have like some type of um extent uh substantial um positive effect with helping your body kind of fight off the flu each year. So I would still get the COVID vaccine only like like the doctor said, or I think it was Kaze said, I still I still believe in the vaccine much more than COVID that's actually killing people. I if if there's any reservations, it would be more so on a scientific, like I need more data on a long-term scale. That was the only thing that made me apprehensive. Like it was just too quick for me because I wanted to see, I wanted more, more control groups, I wanted more experimental groups, I wanted to see more of a long-term effect, but I'm still getting it this year, you know. But even still, it's normal to have it's normal to question. It's it's healthy to question and ask questions and research. And so, you know, I mean that but to say it's gonna kill me or have nanotechnology that's gonna eat my brain, that's fucking stupid. So, you know what I'm saying? But it's always good on a scientific level to look at past data, you know, to see, you know, how other vaccines kind of panned out and things like that. So that's my problem.
SPEAKER_09So isn't it gonna be like a one and none thing?
SPEAKER_11And that's what we're kind of trying to figure out, too, where you know, you don't know if it lasts for we know it lasts at least about a year, but because you know they came out so quickly, we don't really know if it gives you, you know, one year of immunity or 10 years of immunity.
SPEAKER_07But you still need a bunkerdose, you still need a blue dose.
SPEAKER_04Could you also say like this is a very interesting situation because we haven't dealt with a pandemic at such a massive scale, and then on top of that, received funding, had the technology, and then had some form of data to go on to build a vaccine. Like usually one of those things are lacking when uh you're looking at a vaccine of some sort or creating a vaccine vaccine.
SPEAKER_07I think the technology that we're in now, so like you had the you had a the massive flu pandemic, I think of like the 1914s or something, early, early 1900s. And that I think was what sparked um them trying to figure out, you know, a vaccine or some type of remedy because it was killing people by the millions, I believe. Um, and so that was, you know, ever there it's there is a pandemic every century. So this is our centuries pandemic. And but because modern medicine is just so advanced now, they didn't have that, you know, a whole century ago. So I feel like we have we have, you know, a lot more to go on when it comes to research and development. We have more funding, we have so many different research hospitals. We're also collab collaborating with doctors and scientists on a global scale. So it's I would say that's our plus when it comes to vaccinations, when it comes to funding now. Um, but uh on a scientific level, I'm I still want more data. You know what I'm saying? I'm still doing but I want more data because you never know, even when it comes to certain birth controls, you know. You'll see um or even certain like um surgery devices, you'll see like the the little advertisements. If you had this, you know, in 2000, then you might be compensated, you know, for a lawsuit or whatever. So you you never know. Um, but again, that takes years. That takes years for you. To even know that could be 20 years. So unfortunately, no one will know. Um, what we can do is just be proactive and do something, then not do anything at all.
SPEAKER_03Another another thing about the uh this particular situation is we the world was worked in such a frenzy is and we we never really had such a like concerted effort before because because you know how long it takes for you to get to these results is really like just a measure of like nine hours. And so when so when you're adding up all the research that everyone around the world is doing, is you know, we're you know, we're getting like a lot of you know information, but like you know, a bit quicker than some of the other situations where it was just like small pockets of people here and there studying it and we're just waiting, you know, patiently for them to uh and I'm I'm sure there was a lot of contradicting information as well, too, that might have slowed down the process to a s to a point.
SPEAKER_11You know, it's in the follow-up of Kazi said, like there's we've never had a pandemic that had this level of economic motivation before. Not in our lifetime, you know, where we really have healthcare systems like this, you know, that are economically motivated, as in, hey, you're going to hemorrhage money until you know this gets gets fixed. And yeah, it's we're capable of some amazing things, like as a normal society. We really, really are. And you know, this is like the main reason why this got pumped down so quickly. And you know, at the end of the day, you know, something I always like, you know, people who might be hesitant or whatnot when it comes to the vaccine. Um, again, completely understand the hesitancies, but a vaccine is the only way the pandemic will eventually end. It's so interesting. Wow. Yeah, like there's no exceptions. Like social distancing and masks help slow it down, but they're really meant to buy time until you have some way to build immunity, either through you know, natural immunity, which doesn't seem like it's as effective as we want it to be, or through a vaccine, which at least so far seems like it's working well or well enough. Um, it's been a matter of getting it, of course, utilized more. But yeah, the vaccine is the only way that we can end this pandemic.
SPEAKER_09I wish people would just wear the mask for right now, you know what I'm saying? So we just kind of tread happen.
SPEAKER_07What type of people wearing masks under their nose?
SPEAKER_01Like, I don't understand that every single I I was just at Costco earlier and under their nose. I'm like it's one of two things, right?
SPEAKER_04I was like, sir, it's I feel like it's one of two things. People are wearing shitty ass masks that just naturally slip and they don't realize it, or two, they just don't really give a fucking relic. I don't they just don't need to get inside the screen.
SPEAKER_07How do you not realize it when you're constantly putting it up? Like, I there's ways. There's ways, like for you and me, we understand that.
SPEAKER_04I feel like we all understand that, but a large amount of people that don't get that or just don't feel it. I don't think they give a fuck.
SPEAKER_02Like a lot of them just that's that's that's giving them too much ignorance.
SPEAKER_04It's like no, they they know it's no, they're Americans, they're ignorant. No, they're ignorant.
SPEAKER_07But even with the masks, like there are women. You know, I know how it's it doesn't fit everywhere.
SPEAKER_04I'm not giving people anything. They don't have they just don't have it. They don't, they don't like come on.
SPEAKER_03I I will say I will say that I've uh I have I have done that, I have done that myself a few times. And and that but but that's only because A, I'm not used to wearing a mask because I stay I stay in the house like 98% of the time. And two, I don't I don't I don't I don't like how it feels to blow to blow my breath on my on my face. And so I'll just naturally pull it down. But you're like a mask before the pandemic I'm not saying I'm not saying it's a reason, I'm saying it's a natural, it's a natural reaction when your brain turns off to pull down. And but but you know, as soon as I pull it down, uh I either I either see a weird look and I pull it back up, or I feel the thing on the bottom of my nose. I'm like, oh fuck, I'm being a person, and I pull it back up. But but uh but I'm just saying it is like a natural, it is like a natural thing. If something's uncomfortable, you'll you'll you'll change that thing. Just like just like how you change direction when you're asleep. Did no one want to be a ninja as a kid?
SPEAKER_09That's why I used to tell Ronnie to get him to where he is, though. I'm like, we're gonna go out like a ninja turtle.
SPEAKER_04All right, like I was a ninja or a power ranger every single day.
SPEAKER_09Ninja Turtle, Ninja, whatever. I'm gonna say me at all. It works for me.
SPEAKER_07But like, you know, Kyle was saying um that they're always used to you know being in the house. I do have to give that to people who are in the in the house often because even even my mom might find herself slipping. Like, you know what I'm saying? Because for people who constantly leave the house, for um uh, you know, essential workers who've been wearing the mask for like a year a whole year, it's just second nature to us.
SPEAKER_01It's second nature, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's second nature to us, and you know, everything is about repetition and practice. If you do it every single day, it's a no-brainer. But for people who've been in the house, they work remotely, it's it's fucking weird.
SPEAKER_12Niggas are already not changing their underwear, so it's just uh right now, like upstairs, and jump to attics and ceilings and the whole time still wear my mask, breathing heavy and everything, and still wear my mask. I just like I'm coreing through someone's house.
SPEAKER_01I mean I was like that. But to I mean, to go back to what Kaza and Sayone said, um it it I it 100% I can agree it has something to do with the fact that they don't wear that he or certain people don't go out as often. Like at the beginning of last year, I wasn't even concerned about a mask because I wasn't leaving my damn house. But then when I had to go back and teach, I was like, ah shit, I gotta wear my mask. So I had I I decided instead of getting the mask that goes around my ears, because I hate my ears being touched, I got the mask that wrapped around my head. So I'm like, okay, I don't have to worry about it now. That I had to learn how to breathe through a mask while talking. Yes, it was very stressful. And you get the life head if you don't practice how to do it. After a while, I got used to it, so now it's second nature, and it doesn't bother me as much. I could even use the ones around my ears. But if you don't leave it all, and it's not like second, it's not second nature to pick have it a part of your, you know, your leave the house checklist, keys, wallet, phone mask, then you'll walk out the house, get all the way to where you're supposed to go. God dang it, I left my mask. And then you have to walk back to the car.
SPEAKER_04I mean, mask design has like elevated this year. Oh, it has a German phobe.
SPEAKER_08Let's talk about mask sales. Let's talk about that. If you're a German phobe, you always remember because in the beginning, I ain't never when I say I never left the house, it was I was like, hell no. No, I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_04I'm surprised you didn't have a hazmat suit to be honest.
SPEAKER_08Nope.
SPEAKER_04And then when I did leave the house, I had like I had my mask, I had some wipes with me, and it's I can see you like a nice hot pink, like hazmat suit with like flowers and polka dots on it.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god, I want a hazmat suit. Can we all like go out together and wear hazmat suits together? That'd be great. I want a pink one.
SPEAKER_04If you can find me a neon green one with like snakeskin print, sexy?
SPEAKER_02I want it. Okay, the question when we do this, who's gonna be the imposter? Right.
SPEAKER_04Oh, it's like a TikTok video.
SPEAKER_03That's what that sounds like. We can like count, we can counter protest uh uh a Trump rally and we can hand out masks. Well, I don't know about that.
SPEAKER_09Hey, we'll we go put on their Trump 2020 and make us some money, though.
SPEAKER_01There wasn't a mask if it says Trump.
SPEAKER_04Can I have a marshmallow gun? Can I have a marshmallow gun? Why? Because I'm gonna just shoot marshmallows at people's heads.
SPEAKER_07No, uh I would love to be in the mind of this between the thing.
SPEAKER_04Here's the reason why white people love marshmallows. Right.
SPEAKER_01They'll get in the head first before they see the marshmallow, they will pull out one of them.
SPEAKER_04They'll see the marshmallows. They don't care, they don't care.
SPEAKER_10People like, oh my god, I feel frightened. If it was a marshmallow gun, fine.
SPEAKER_04I'll get a bag of marshmallows and throw it at them. Can I just take a bag of marshmallows and throw it at them? They threw a black a bag at the white kid and he shot them. That is I'm not a white kid, so I don't know. No, the white yeah.
SPEAKER_08What happened? The marshmallow hit my head and I was afraid for my life. I thought it might have had a negative black.
SPEAKER_04But wouldn't that sound so great on the telephone? I thought it was a Negro. This Negro threw a marshmallow at me and I just felt so threatened.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. Okay.
SPEAKER_02And then he said, get some chocolate graham crackers, bitch, and I was like it s'mores.
SPEAKER_04What type of interest is that?
SPEAKER_00All right.
SPEAKER_02So I don't know what those are.
SPEAKER_00So um chocolate.
SPEAKER_09What we didn't call is the girl that's just uh Gail King. That's what you should be.
SPEAKER_01We're not going there. I don't want to go there. No.
SPEAKER_02I'm surprised Oprah didn't have her taken out of that.
SPEAKER_01I'm still waiting.
SPEAKER_04Don't just blame Shonda Rhimes. It's okay.
SPEAKER_09No, y'all want to leave Shonda Rhimes alone. I need my season two of Bridgeton. No. Read the book. It's so much better.
SPEAKER_04I actually picked up the first one.
SPEAKER_01You said white terrorists tonight?
SPEAKER_09I'm tempted to read it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I picked up the first one. Actually, I was gonna get it for you anyway.
SPEAKER_08Oh, thank you. Talk about the outrage for this white terrorist that died.
SPEAKER_05Which one?
SPEAKER_10Oh that's what I was saying.
SPEAKER_09The one the one that was Yeah, the one, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh not not the one that um only name bomb the the uh race or whatever. Only name I remember is Harambe. No.
SPEAKER_03Say his name. Up said about that one.
SPEAKER_10That took them down the road all the way.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, but everything's been a big name.
SPEAKER_04That should have been an outrage right there. Damn.
SPEAKER_02We should have called 2020 Harambe's revenge.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, and then can we like Photoshop a picture of like a Karen on Godzilla and have King Kong? Do that. Actually, can we make that like the cover art for this episode? No. Damn. I vote yes.
SPEAKER_01No. Uh Dama, do you have it? You can just put a wig over it.
SPEAKER_09Does anybody know his name? Oh, Eugene Goodman.
SPEAKER_01There it is. Eugene Goodman, the security guard who led the uh terrorist, domestic terrorist, down the wrong hallway. Once he found out that the senators was in a specific room and they were headed that way, he had them chase him down a different hallway so they didn't go after the senators.
SPEAKER_07Wow, he really was a good man for real.
SPEAKER_01Oh, he's alive, right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, he's still alive, he's still alive.
SPEAKER_01She said he was. I was like, girl, did something happen? No, I mean that that my my friends is a patriot. So it's good to end the uh episode on that. So um, if anyone, anyone, anyone who is listening to this episode has any other points uh about 2021 or rather 2020 extended, um, the extended cut.
