Welcome everyone to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast. This week we have the Blurred Q game reviews. This time we're going to give you some of our panelists' top three most anticipated games of 2021. And this is across all platforms: PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X, which um handheld if they're playing it. They may even be playing some remakes. So we're going to go through the list. But first, we have to introduce our panelists, starting with myself, Suchino Shogun. We have Kaze Shinryu. We have The Doctor.
SPEAKER_04What's good?
SPEAKER_06We have Joe Tsg. We have Shample Bracelets. We have Sayone.
SPEAKER_03Hello.
SPEAKER_06And then giving us all emotional support while plugging in expert details about certain games, is Ms. Skittles. So we're going to go around the lot, give each person the opportunity to give their list of their top, maybe not their top three, but their main three games that they're the most excited and anticipating for the year 2021. We do know that, of course, due to the pandemic, uh, due to you know standard gaming industry uh uh setbacks and a bunch of other reasons, of course, like pandemic layoffs, uh, a lot of these games were supposed to come out almost two years ago, a year and a half ago. Uh, some of them are slated to come out this year and may end up coming out next year or five years from now. But these are the promising ones, the ones we hope will come out, um, and the ones we're the most excited about. So uh we're gonna go around the bend and we are going to start with the most viable uh Doctor, the Doctor.
SPEAKER_04Awesome. So that's interesting. I actually had a lot that I'm really excited about for the coming year. Um if I had to narrow down to three, um, probably the biggest one for me is definitely Breath of the Wild 2. I am extremely excited about this game. Um, Breath of the Wild is definitely my favorite Zelda game, and easily one of my favorite games, period. Like the exploration, just how fast it was. Um, you could just do so much. Like there's always something more you could explore, and I love that. So I'm really excited to see what direction they take this in with Breath of the Wild too. Um, and I think you know, Age of Calamity also hyped me up a little bit more as well.
SPEAKER_06Certainly did.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I do enjoy Age of Calamity. I think, you know, often Dynasty Warriors games get criticized for not really having a lot of um feeling a little too spinoffy, but had some actual lore within it that matched up to, you know, and explain a few things that we have you know we have in Breath of the Wild. So um I really enjoyed that. But yeah, I'm very hyped to see what happens with Breath of the Wild too. Um so that's definitely my number one. Um I'm also very excited about Final Fantasy 16. So Final Fantasy as a series I have a complicated relationship with. Uh it's definitely something I enjoy, but it's not above critique for me. And you know, so it's I don't know if I call it a mixed bag, but it's definitely something where you know it can be intermixed in a lot of ways. But I'm still really excited to see where they take Final Fantasy um 16. You know, so that's something I'm definitely looking forward to. Um I think one thing that Final Fantasy has done fairly well is incorporate action elements in later series. I think the remake for seven really exemplifies this. Like that to me took some of the best elements of the action action, particularly um with a lot that came from how 13 implemented action into combat. I think that's you know, I think they're going in a really good direction with that. So I'm really excited to see how Final Fantasy 16 plays with that. Um that's also something I'm really looking forward to. And my no, my third one is Shin Mugami Tensei 3 not heard the remaster. So um if you love Persona, you know, Persona is one of you know many Shin Mugami Tensei games. Um it's definitely um, you know, it's a really interesting RPG with a lot of depth, and something that you know basically like I really have always enjoyed. Um and it's something that it's it's a game you can really get lost in for a very long time. So, you know, it's a lot of um, especially I mean, you know how many personas there are, for instance. Like there's just a lot of granularity to the game. Um, and if you you know haven't played the original version of this, uh, the remaster is a great chance to you know kind of get into you know the third um installation in that series. So uh yeah, and I think those are definitely my top three. Um, yeah, and unfortunately, you know, due in part to the nature of the pandemic, we don't really have solid dates for those, but those are three things I'm really looking forward to.
SPEAKER_06Awesome, awesome. Um, I have to definitely add to the Breath of the Wild, too. I think both uh yourself and myself, uh the Doctor, we have talked about on previous episodes, how the uh Legend of Zelda series is one of our most uh favorite, uh anticipated um series of games, I think out of most of all of them. And um uh as you said, the the Calamity uh Dynasty Warriors uh uh themed game that came out uh the latter part of 2020 definitely it was unexpected. Uh, I think after the first Breath of the Wild, you know, they kind of uh put put out a couple of like uh trailers and a couple of um uh tidbits, sneak peeks of what the Breath of the Wild 2 may be talking about, and we weren't really sure. And then all of a sudden the um the uh Age of Calamity uh came out and it's like filling the that niche, that that gap in between, saying, okay, here's some some pieces to the story that you were probably asking questions about. Here's here's what makes sense about this. It's the prelude as well as what happened after going into part two. It's like um The Lion King one and a half and then a half. It's like it's it's a it's a good um, I think, prelude into the Breath of the Wild 2. I'm really excited for what they're gonna do next, especially because of how received it was. Um, I know people who started Breath of the Wild 1 or The Breath of the Wild, sorry, uh years after the game came out. And I don't want to say it's still held up. It's just such a uh such a breathtaking game that anybody can get into, either if you like the series or the genre or not. Um, so I I agree. I'm 100% and excited for what uh the Breath of the Wild 2 is going to uh present to us. I am praying that it comes out this year, but you know, they haven't even given us they haven't even given us like a uh 2021 uh uh uh part two or fall or win, nothing. They didn't say holiday 2021. So all we can do is hope. Yes, I just hope it's not a repeat of um uh what's it the Twilight Princess, because that made my heart hurt. They pushed that thing back years just too much. This hurts.
SPEAKER_04Um, but it's worth it. I don't know, definitely.
SPEAKER_07Okay, so let's uh wait, wait, hold on. So uh Final Fantasy 16. Yeah. I mean it was like wait a minute. Um but uh but uh definitely to uh echo the doctor. Um it's been a uh fascinating uh journey into like this uh pseudo uh action action game that they've been leaning into make like you know, even even starting starting from the uh uh the uh MMO aspects of Final Fantasy XII into the you know into the the system in 13 uh you know even you know even even like honestly Kingdom Hearts um is a lot of uh is a lot of aspects that uh that ultimately like led up to Final Fantasy VII remake like being like the special thing that it was. And so I'm hoping I'm hoping that uh I'm hoping that 16 can uh kind of you know bring I guess I think the more strategic gameplay of of Final Fantasy into that action arena because cause I think I think because you know when it comes down to it, Final Fantasy is never gonna be the best action game. That's not that's not really their avenue, even if they're getting better at it. Um but I think if they can uh really like you know make something like thoughtful and frenetic at the same time, I think it'll be something uh really special. Um and I'm also glad that they've uh that even even though like we're going for it graphically, that they're going back to the fantasy setting, because I've been I've been waiting on Final Fantasy just to make something really pretty and really fantasy. And so uh yeah, I definitely can't wait for that.
SPEAKER_10Definitely yeah, just to piggyback off of that, um from what I hear, like the the battle scene director, this is just a rumor, um is uh I think his name is Suzuki, but he also like uh choreographed like uh Devil May Cry.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that is true, yeah.
SPEAKER_10Um Dragon Dragon dogma. So I'm I I'm really excited to see, you know, how the how the new gameplay is, you know, the action of the battle scenes, and I'm all for like these cinematic, you know, beauty scenes. Like I'm I'm all for all of that. So um, yeah, I'm I'm kind of I'm pretty excited. I'm always excited for Final Fantasy. So um, yeah. I'm behind all my games, but well, I did play the remake, so there's that. But right, but um I am uh excited. I I I believe it's only gonna be on PS5 though, so I'm gonna need them to come out within two so I can get on that.
SPEAKER_06Phenomenal. So let's move on to our next panelist. And uh, well, Kazai had quite a bit to say, so Kazi Suniu, you're three.
SPEAKER_07Alright. Uh I'll go backwards. All right, so uh first is uh uh guilty gear strive. Um uh yeah, guilt guilty gears like been around since like the late 90s, early 2000s. It's a uh it's an you know anime fighting fighting game. Um and it's you know, and it and it really it really helped like kickstart like this this whole genre of like really like mechanic heavy like you know, for frenetic combat, like super um what's the word? Uh just like unique characters, like no, like every you know, everyone moves different, like you know, people have like you know, systems like unto themselves that no no one else like has. Like the the story is like completely crazy and out there and it's really uh really uh fun way. Um and and also like art uh art system works can like do no wrong. Like they every every every game they make is the is the is the new best looking fucking thing. And and and strive like is is is on that same same course. It is like it is like it's it's 3D, but it it it it it looks 2D, it looks like it looks hand-drawn, but it's it's so beautifully rendered, and I cannot wait to get get equipment deserving of uh playing playing this game and seeing it in action. Uh I I just hope that they uh t tune down the damage from these trailers because nigga niggas are getting half-life. Uh I I'm not trying to get touched twice. But um let's see, someone else is doing that one. So my next one is gonna be uh Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2. Uh so Vampire the Masquerade is a uh pen and paper uh role-playing system. And uh, you know, and it's and it's and it's you know pretty much about uh this is like really in-depth uh story about uh about role-playing uh different vampires from the very distinct clans. And uh and they made a and they made a uh a PC game. Uh and and I haven't I and I never got to play this game, but I've watched literal like hours of content on YouTube of just like about how good the writing is, how like fascinating like the character work is, how like in-depth like they made this uh they made this world. Like there's a uh uh like there's a there's a race of vampires that looks like uh Nosferatu and and they don't and they don't have the ability to to change change their form. So like so the rest the rest of the game is like you you know l living out this character's life and doing whatever above ground, but the those but uh but this this race can't do that. They they have to live in the sewers because they can't get by in regular society. So like it's like a whole different game for them, and they have another race of vampires who are literally insane. And they literally re-written the whole script of the game for this character because of their perception of what's happening and what they're hearing is completely different from everyone else. Um and uh and you know, I I've I've I've I've just and I've I've just listened to a lot of like video essays and like listen love letters to how well made and also how broken this this game was uh in a very cyberpunk way, which I'm also loving uh uh right now. Um so I'm that so hopefully uh hopefully we we can uh we can get over this uh releasing undone broken games thing. That uh now that we now that these COVID vaccines are getting out. Um but um yeah, definitely looking forward to uh uh Vampire the Masquerade. I missed it the first time, but I'm definitely definitely ready to catch it this time. Uh and then my most anticipated game is Elden Ring. But I say uh uh Elden Elden Ring is uh this is by the same uh director, Miyazaki, who's done the Dark Souls games. Um open world like uh Soul Souls Light game. And uh and and the story is being written by George R. Martin, the same person who did uh Game of Thrones, you know, the song Ice and Fire. And uh I'm I'm just I I buy everything he puts out and this is just looking to be the the biggest, you know, the biggest thing going. And honestly, I and I love and I love the like unspoken like background story of the Souls games, but the biggest like uh detractment is that you know, aside from people dying and not being able to handle it, uh from the Souls games is the is the is the story. And now and now you have George R. Martin who is a master, like heading, head, heading this narrative. So I I'm super excited to see like what they not only what they're what they bring together, but also seeing uh what an open world game in this new generation is gonna look like is um like super excited. And my uh honorable mention are we doing that now or later? Okay.
SPEAKER_06No. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_07Uh I was like down. Uh Tales of a Rise. Uh by say uh me me and Suchi been uh been running through these, you know, but so sometimes sometimes he got busy and I had to run through them by myself a little bit, let them know what happened in between. But but uh Tails games are action RPGs and uh and I and what really like makes them uh uh unique is like as the not not only are like the characters like you know they're well they're well drawn, they're unique, they have like good personalities, but the stories are usually relatively well written. But the the act the action combat is is really unique because the like as your characters level up, you don't just get new moves and abilities, you also get like new mechanics. So like, you know, characters will learn how to double jump, characters will learn how to animation cancel. Uh, you know, you'll you know, people, you know, uh characters will f fuse into armor and bec and become you know elemental avatars, and then you gotta fuse the right characters together. Um it's like they're they're like in-game mechanics of it are always super fun and fascinating. And and and and it's and it's really easy to jump into too. Like I'll just have company and I'll be like, hey, we're about to play tails here. Here's a controller. It's you know, when I do this, you do this. Yep. And it's like super fun to get into, but also like super crunchy, and uh, and it's as and uh it's as deep as you want it to be. Um and and and this game looks gorgeous. Absolutely. Oh my god, I can't wait. Okay. Had to put yourself back a little bit.
SPEAKER_06I mean, I'm forgiving them for not bringing back Rowan, so I'm going not uh not uh say any positive or negative things about it. I'll wait until it comes out and you pass me a controller. Uh the doctor, did you have something you wanted to state?
SPEAKER_04Yes, so to follow up on Guilty Year. So I consider Guilty Year and its spiritual successor, Blaze Blue, the pinnacle of mechanically diverse fighting games. So I am super hyped for the next Guilty Year to come out. Um, you know, I'm really excited about it and some of the trailers, it looks amazing. I definitely agree about it. But no, I'm I'm really hyped for it. So that's you know, that would be also uh second that recommendation.
SPEAKER_06Awesome, awesome.
SPEAKER_05Okay. I would like that at one. I'm sorry. Um God.
SPEAKER_06Um I'm gonna say uh why you have to go ahead and do that. You could have just said it. We could have all added, you could have tape it, and you know, everybody gonna see it. You just said it directly.
SPEAKER_09I wouldn't have gotten the same feel if you were gonna say that. You have to see it. And I like that. Because the way I put me in that chicken, I'm like, damn, bitch, I want some too.
SPEAKER_07I bet I bet you someone will pay good money to watch D V E. Yeah, oh like a mug. Ooh.
SPEAKER_06Let me know if you want to get into that. I'll buy you a mic. We hit the whole ASMR.
SPEAKER_03Enjoy yourself.
SPEAKER_07I meant to though.
SPEAKER_06I'm serious too. And if you hit the last piece of chicken, you just put up the heart. What do you think? Oh, you gotta do it.
SPEAKER_07Right right after you get that gristle.
SPEAKER_09You gotta dip in the right. You gotta dip in the right seductively. You see what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_02I'm debating if I'm even gonna edit this out because this is okay, okay.
SPEAKER_06I'm sorry. Let's uh let's get back into it. So um I was gonna go next. Uh that's why I couldn't pass it on to somebody because I was laughing. Um all right, so I have my three uh games that I'm looking the most uh forward to this year. Well, three of the games that I'm looking forward to. Of course, uh as uh the doctor said, uh, I am looking forward to breastframe. Of the Wild 2, but I want to make sure you know he has far more details than I do, so I want to make sure I do mine. So one I am definitely looking forward to is Braverly Default 2. Uh that's coming out. Uh well, it's slated to come out February 26th. Uh will be on the Nintendo Switch. Um now I am not one of the individuals who played the previous two Braverly uh uh games that came out. I actually played Octopath. Now, I understand Octopath and Braverly do and don't have things in common. But I'm I already wasn't like a um a kind of uh uh uh Braverly type of game player. So uh when uh Octopath came out, uh Kazi Shinryu kind of was like, well, why don't you try this? And I jumped into it and completely fell in love with the game. And then of course Kazi Shinryu borrowed the game, uh, as I said before, you know, have somebody else pay for it and then they'll play it. Um so now I'm like knee deep into these uh kind of role-based, turn-based games on the Switch. And Braverly Default 2, it's absolutely gorgeous. Uh it the I mean, if you if you love the way the Octopath looked, Braverly Default takes it up a notch, in my opinion. Especially with the characters, um, the uh the the magic system, the default and brave system. Um it's it's so gorgeous. Like it's just the magic is dope. The combinations of the classes. Um, honestly, if you want to play it right now, the demo is available on the Switch, so you can play it at this moment before the real game comes out. Um man, I just I can't talk enough about it. Plus, I'm still thinking about that chicken. Uh, but I will say that there is um, you know how people always like their pre-order bonuses. Well, uh let me let me change that. I love pre-order bonuses. Uh um I am a fiend for getting the ultimate legendary special world-changing edition of games. Um, and currently the only uh special pre-order bonus is through uh Best Buy. If you pre-order a um physical copy at Best Buy, you'll receive a uh Braverly default to placemat and coaster. So if you need some stuff inside of your house, there you go. Best Buy pre-order. I'm not representing Best Buy in any way, shape, or form. All right. Uh my second game is the Gotham Knights. Now, I think, unlike many other people, I saw that trailer. I don't even remember what presentation was what that was at. What was that at, uh, Kazi? Do you remember? Uh might have been Game Awards. It might have you might be right. Yeah. So they presented it and from the first moment of Bruce is gone, I was like, wait a minute. So this is either about his uh uh the Robins and the Bad Girls of the World, or this is about the villains. Either way, I want to see what happens. So sure enough, in Gotham Nights, which is rumored, not slated, but rumored to come out July 12th, but you know, the the studio officially hasn't released anything. Um studio being Montreal, who's done plenty of the previous um Batman games. I think they did Arkham Knight and what was the other one? Uh can't think of it right now, I'll come back to it later. Um, but you have the choice to play as either Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, or Robin. The game is set pretty much without a Batman. Batman is he died in an allegedly died in an explosion in the Bat Cave, and it's up to these four to kind of follow up the unrest and gotham. Because every single time Batman disappears, whether he's kidnapped, whether he dies, falls, fakes his death, or what have you, all of a sudden everybody's like, you know, running on the streets.
SPEAKER_00Can you feel the brand new day?
SPEAKER_06Like just dancing up and down the streets, you know, stealing and the rioting and looting and stuff. So it's up to, of course, his four proteges to come out and do what they gotta do. Um, now they've stated that it isn't connected with the rest of the Arkham universe. Uh, it's supposed to be its own standalone, but it is still a part of uh it's Arkham Origins. That's what it is. Arkham Knight and Arkham Origins. Um, made by Montreal. So you'll still have the same feeling. Um, you are gonna see Mr. Freeze in the game. He's definitely gonna be there. Court of Owls is gonna be in the game. Uh, it's rumored that Deathstroke is gonna be in the game. So it's about to be on and pop, and I'm really excited. Like I said, oh, and that one's supposed to be on uh PS5, PS4, Xbox X S N1, and the PC console. So go ahead and cop that. Next, this was also um posted on the uh Game Awards, the trailer for it. It was Deathloop. Uh Deathloop looks amazing, personally for me, because it is has a starring African-American uh uh protagonist. Um, yes, there have been other games that do this, but like this is almost like for me, we were talking about this like five or six years ago about Idris Idris Alba being um 007. And I felt like they took that idea and turned it into Deathloop. Uh Death Loop is uh a next gen first uh first person shooter. So it's on PS5 and PC. Um it's starring uh this uh super spy, uh Arcane Lion, who has like all of these special abilities and all this you know unique training, and he's on it's from the team who are behind Dishonored. So if you like that kind of uh um shoot 'em up, not shoot 'em up, sorry, kind of spy sneaking around, stealth type of system, they have that in this game. Uh, but also he has abilities kind of like a telekinetic, uh, from what I see. Um, so he's trapped on this island or this area called Blackwreath, and he's literally stuck in a time loop. And the purpose is he's supposed, oh well, allegedly based off the trailer, he's supposed to kill these, I think the big seven or the big five, I forget how many of them there is, uh, but he's supposed to kill all of them before the end of the loop so that he can actually move on to the next day. So it's like a um Idris Alba 007 version of Groundhog Day, kind of sorta. Um, and but the issue is they have his counterpart, his rival Julianne, who is another uh soul sister, uh uh Black Lives Matter, I'm saying she's his rival, uh, who is an expert sniper, and her only job is to kill him and keep the loop going. So, and you can play as either character. You can either play as uh uh Arcane Lion um as the protagonist, or you can play as Julianne's rival. So you're like going back and forth trying to stop him or you know get away from her. It's amazing. I thoroughly enjoy it. Um, so that's gonna be an amazing game. Then my honorable mention is for the lovers out there, uh, those who like to play video games with their significant other, uh, those who like to play video games with uh the person who's next to them. Maybe you know, you have in a long-distance relationship you can't play next to one another. This game is for you. It's called It Takes. How dare you? Two. Um it takes two. Uh is uh actually a pretty dope game. The premise behind it is this couple that just recently uh got married. Uh something occurred in their relationship. Uh based off what I see, uh the marriage counselor pulled a spell on them and uh cursed them to turn into dolls. The husband is a doll made of clay, the uh wife is a uh doll made of yarn, and they're on this magical journey, if you will, where they have to find solace in their relationship before they're turned back into human beings. Um what'd you say?
SPEAKER_01That is a Hallmark Christmas movie.
SPEAKER_06I'm saying it. It's amazing. Uh from what I see in the game, like they're they they go to different stages in different worlds. They're in space, they're in toy boxes, they're in Arctic regions. Uh, they face they uh at one point they go into like a uh um what's it called? A uh DJ booth or DJ studio. Um, and they're like being attacked by uh microphones brought to life that are trying to like bite them in half. It like the the the theory behind it kind of reminds me of uh what's the name of that PS uh uh Sony um original game? Uh Big Little Big Planet. Yeah. Yes, I was like, that kind of concept. Well, not that type of concept because they're they're actually like traversing this world with a dual screen, and you can play remotely or localized, so or online or localized. So you can play with your you know, special sweet thing from all across the world on this game, and it's phenomenal, in my personal opinion. Um, I was watching a couple videos last year about like the oh last year, yeah, about the perfect game to play with your significant other. And they have a couple of options. They'd be saying, like, you know, uh uh dang, I forgot the name of a cooking, not cooking mama. What's the other one? Overcooked. Overcooked is like a great game to play with your significant other, which the doctor swears by because actually the one that got me into the game to begin with. Um that game's chaos and violence, chaos, violence, and food.
SPEAKER_07Give me a fight.
SPEAKER_09Chaos and violence, you say, I shall put it down. Over.
SPEAKER_07Oh, but but the chaos of violence isn't real life.
SPEAKER_09Um then it's too busy. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07It's a habit, it's a havoc in Discord, it causes your real life relationship. There it is.
SPEAKER_06Um but uh yes, so it takes two comes out March 28th. It is or 26th, sorry, it's slated to come out March 26th. It is gonna be on the Switch. Um, I advise anybody who you know has a girlfriend or boyfriend or significant other. Um, definitely cop that game. Cats, it's great game.
SPEAKER_09Right, cats, you gotta put cats in there.
SPEAKER_06Dogs, um, if you like the game, feel free to cats. They don't have it on you know what, not going there. So if you want to play it with someone or something else, feel free to play it takes two. Uh yeah.
SPEAKER_10So I just want to jump in on the uh on the Death Loop. I I did um the previews for that, and and I was wondering when it was gonna come out because you know, because of Corona or whatever. But I I might I might have to hop on that joe because I I definitely liked what I saw. Um, the whole concept is is very interesting. Um just the preview itself. I was like, oh shit, like this this something I gotta get into.
SPEAKER_06It's it's really dope. It's really uh like even even the vibe, like the music that's playing. It's like really like spy-ish, like it's like a cross, but it's like hip hop meets um like like 70s spy music. It's like really dope. The the vibe that goes through it.
SPEAKER_10The moment, the moment old girl popped up on the screen, sniped in the next thing.
SPEAKER_01I was like, oh I will say if there's no Austin Towers DLC, I'm gonna be upset.
SPEAKER_02Oh Lord.
SPEAKER_01Just an outfit. Just give me an outfit. That's all I need.
SPEAKER_09About like couples games, like like the uh it takes two, it sounds very cute and lovey. But like my idea of like couples games, like Years of War and like the House of the Dead.
SPEAKER_02Awesome. You know, that evil is perfect for that.
SPEAKER_09Right. Like I wish there was more couch co-op games. Everything is so online, and I'm so I guess old school because I don't do any online play. So I wish they would come out with more couch co-op games, you know, so that I don't know, I just felt like you get like a different vibe when someone is like hyping you up right next to you.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_09But um I wish they came out with more, but I guess, you know, because of the times, things are changing. But I need more couch co-op games. I like I love what you were saying about the it takes two, it's a split screen, yeah. And so you can play with someone right there. Um, but even yeah, I need more couch co-op games. But I I hope that in the future the games, games are going to implement both online and couch co-op, just like how they did before. But I think everything is more so online now. So I don't know.
SPEAKER_06Well, another option for a couch co-op game if you are looking for one is lovers in a oh crap, I forgot the name. Lovers in a what is it called?
SPEAKER_09Is it gory? Are people's heads being chopped off? Not at all. If it's too much, yeah, I want it.
SPEAKER_06Okay, well, it's lovers in a day.
SPEAKER_03I was about to mention a bunch of Lego games too, but never mind.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I don't have any of those.
SPEAKER_10I was just looking for stuff that a co-couch couch co-ops, but I can't play games with my significant other because in the past, every time I play games with a nigga, they gotta talk shit. And then I and I had to beat their ass right here on the couch.
SPEAKER_06Like see, that's what that's what Kazi was talking about. There's there's that gore. It's in real life, it's it's not in real life.
SPEAKER_10I just I just can't like you you over here talking shit. Like, okay, you won you won one game out of how many we done played, like get the work out of you.
SPEAKER_06Uh I will I will have to agree. Well, I'll I'll I'll agree to a certain percentage. Um, there is a certain level of um if it's a couch co-op, I think it's fine. Uh, if it's a fighter, I don't think it's gonna work.
SPEAKER_10Um, that's me.
SPEAKER_06That's Power Rangers uh battle for the grid was definitely a relationship tester for me.
SPEAKER_09So uh check in technology, check in soul caliber in all the fighting games.
SPEAKER_10I love it though. Come over, they be like, Oh, you want me to bust your ass right quick? And then I'll be like, try it, and then and then the niggas start losing, and then they win that one game, and they don't shut the f up. Like, and I'll be look, we done. I'm done. I'm tired.
SPEAKER_09Remember those Tekken uh books that have all the damn moves, and these people fucking memorize all the special moves. I still don't know how to do a diagonal to this day. Look at this diagonal, but what the fuck is that? I can't even do a Yoshimitsu special combo to my life right now because it's so many diagonals and loop-doo loops and shit. Man, we get mad. Hate when them niggas know how to fucking kill me with how dare you know how to play the game.
SPEAKER_02How dare you?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, all mine like eventually just stop playing for I think for their own mental health.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, that's that's the party, too. That yeah, why you can kill a whole party and just like hi, bro.
SPEAKER_07Oh, we're not we're not gaming now.
SPEAKER_11You wanna do the whole party, y'all.
SPEAKER_03There's no reason for that disrespect.
SPEAKER_06Certain people believe that you're gonna I well, I don't even want to say this, but certain people believe you're gonna let them win. And I I don't want to listen. There's that look on your face again. I'm just saying people believe that you're gonna let them win because it's cute, and you know you they came over to play games or whatever. No, that makes me more upset.
SPEAKER_09I don't want to tell you. I'd rather you whoop my ass, and when I whoop your ass, I'm gonna talk mad shit. Like, big bitch, I got that one hit. I got it. Yeah, it was a uh single combo, but I still swipe your ass.
SPEAKER_10I'm like, Conday and Soul Caliber, did I not run around the movie?
SPEAKER_07You got you got you got that in. I was like I'll I'll never take that from you.
SPEAKER_01No, no, no, no. It's because of Conze. I hate Incineroar to this day.
SPEAKER_07Now, Miss Pillas, what I will take from you is how your punk ass ran. Ran the brand back for the release.
SPEAKER_09I'm waiting on that ass. Like Conse has this like cool, like bad boy gamer vibe.
SPEAKER_06And bad boy gamer vibe.
SPEAKER_09You know what I'm saying? Like, that's how you know you're gonna beat me the fuck up in the game. Like, you just gotta that, you know what I'm saying? Slick at the mouth, bad, talk shit. You're like, yeah, you don't beat your ass, you know what I'm saying? And he and he just wants to play champagne when he's good, you know what I'm saying? Well, like this on the side. Like, I can't fuck with Kaize because Kaize gonna whoop my ass, and I ain't got time for that.
SPEAKER_01There is nothing like playing Smash Brothers and him like just having a full ass meal while he whoops your ass.
SPEAKER_06You know, that's what I said to that page. The level of comfort that we are having with a controller in one hand and then food in the other, like mixing up his ramen, and then like playing. I'm like, can we and then imagine saying, Can you play seriously? I am. What are you talking about?
SPEAKER_09Right, right. That's like every fight scene when the person that's obviously the better fighter is like putting his hands behind his back, like while I did my pizza and whoop your ass. Like, I ain't got time for that disrespect, Kazette.
SPEAKER_07Not at all. I've I've grown though, because I used because I used to beat people, and then and then I used to go over the mistakes I made in the match because like because beating them wasn't the goal, that wasn't the standard I set for myself. So I was like, damn, I really get better. And they're like looking at me like disrespectful.
SPEAKER_09Like, not only are you gonna cause physical pain, you're gonna cause psychological pain, psychological pain.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I may I made a few friends quit a few games and then I then you know I growth.
SPEAKER_10That's why my ass ran away.
SPEAKER_07You in danger, girl.
SPEAKER_06What were you about to say, the doctor?
SPEAKER_04No, it's easy because like I might be the opposite in that I will go easy on people if they're new to the game or something like that. Like, unless, you know, at least for you know, smash a blazing or something. Unless I'm like doing it. Don't let the doctor trick you.
SPEAKER_01Don't let the doctor trick you. It's like a type of nice where it's like it's almost like a it's okay, you can you'll get better. You're just still new to the game, but it actually makes you feel even worse.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It makes like kill you with kind of type of thing.
SPEAKER_03It's like when old people give you underheaded compliments. It's all right, it's like they're like underbad complex.
SPEAKER_06No, no, but I I will say the the doctor genuinely will or when it's like a fighter or any type of game, will will play the game. They're not like hold he won't just like hold the controller and not do anything. The doctor will play the game with a certain level of skill. Now, if you're talking shit and you trying to come off of the side of your mouth and you're not that good, the doctor will you know calmly and politely say, Are you trying to play the game? We can stop, you don't have to continue.
SPEAKER_09I don't need that. Now you're just wasting time shade, like that's the principal shade. Like, I don't need that time.
SPEAKER_06I mean, if you're gonna waste time and talking shit at the same time, like what's the point? That's also true.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like unless I it's an actual tournament tournament, like a serious one. Yeah, like I have no problem just going easy on someone if it gets them into the game, you know. I gotta do that. I very rarely play Smash seriously outside of tournaments, you know. Easy to get people into, like if you, you know, I'm gonna give them a helping hand.
SPEAKER_09So damn. That's a whole flex, though. That's a whole flex to be like, let me go easy on you. You know what I'm saying? And it'll be real. Like that's a whole flex. Like, I'm scared of someone that says, I'm gonna go easy on you today, because I know that you know, you're new, you're green, and let me just, you know, I'm blessing you with my with me holding back. Like, I don't I'm I don't I don't know what it is because I don't want to do it because you don't fuck me up.
SPEAKER_02I don't want to do it.
SPEAKER_09No. But I would love to see Kaze and the Doctor play. That'll be a very interesting battle. It's educational.
SPEAKER_06Kaze making rhyme and the doctors are writing a report, we're fighting after No, but it's very educational to watch the doctor and Kaze Shonyu go back and forth because it's um it's it it's it's like what you see in a lot of anime when like two extremely strong characters have actual respect for one another. It's not like I'm trying to beat, well, they're trying to beat each other, but it's more so I understand I I it I I acknowledge your skill level, you acknowledge my skill level, and now we're going to go off and battle each other in this particular sport. Gentlemen, it's very um, it's very exciting. Now, when somebody who doesn't know how to play like jumps on specifically by talking shit, that's when I get annoyed. Because I'm sitting there, I'm trying to learn a lesson with these two like masters of the game, and then the third person jumps on and like, yeah, yeah, yeah. You playing a Cinderor? You playing Zelda? They weak. I'm like, that's what we're doing today. Okay, I guess I'll have to watch this uh this cleanup lesson. And once they lose their fourth stock, and Kaze and the doctor have four stock each, I'm like, oh, now the match can begin. Okay, let's go.
SPEAKER_07And I I guess I'll I'll just add this uh like uh uh Rod would definitely be nice to the newcomers, but but but but god forbid god forbid I'm winning and and and them niggas are between him and me because he will murder, he will murder everyone to make sure I lose that motherfucker style. I'm like runs on the other side of the stage, I'm fine, and then it's like and then I'm like, wait, what how did she she she's over here? Leave me alone. It's a party game, right? Right from these demon knights or from this this blonde witch.
SPEAKER_01Here I am just Pranaplanet floating in the air because they want to keep intercinder on the corner of the side of the damn stage. We got the doctor on the left side of the damn stage, and both of them are just waiting for you to go on either side of the stage. I gotta stay in the fucking center. It's not fair. I don't like it.
SPEAKER_06Let's uh move on to Miss Sayone. Your list.
SPEAKER_09My list. All right. So my first one is Dynasty Warriors, Empires Nine. Dynasty Warriors is near and dear to me. I've been playing that game since I was like a preteen. So seeing like the development of the graphics over time from like the Warriors kind of running into a non-existent buildings and kind of getting stuck to now actually having you know a lot more fluidity. And each game, the graphics is a little bit better. And Dynasty Warriors Empires 9, it's phenomenal. Like I think because with Dynasty Warriors, there were just so many battles and so much going on. You would almost think it's like a PC game because I think PC games are pretty good with having so much people on the screen. And it's like when you play with like a like a like a console, like Xbox or or like PlayStation, it just kind of gets lagged because it's just so much for the system to process. So Dynasty Warriors, Empires Nine, like the fight scenes are are beautiful, it's more detailed, and they have like different powers, they have more characters, and I love it because it actually um follows Romance of the Three Kingdoms, which is a which is an actual book, and it it goes uh goes um it goes into the different dynasties of uh the Chinese dynasties that were kind of like warring for power. So it's interesting, you know, taking the the mythical nature out of it, you do learn about different, you know, characters like Wei Wu Shu, Zhu Ge Liang, and um, you know, different people like Sao Cao and just seeing how the pettiness as well. So I really, I really love Dynasty War, it's so fucking petty. Um uh so that's gonna be on Xbox One, Switch, Xbox Series S, and X and PC. And they didn't give like an exact date, they just said early 2021. So hopefully it's gonna be coming out within the next couple of months. Um my second one.
SPEAKER_10It's gonna be on this floor and five to oh it is oh okay, yes.
SPEAKER_09Yep, I forgot to write that down. Thank you, much. Look, look, she ready though, yes. So um the next one is Prince of Persia, Stands of Time, the remake. That's actually gonna come out March 18th. And um so what I read is that it's not specifically coming out for PS5, it's just backwards compatible. So, like it's gonna be for PS4, but PS5 can play because it's backwards compatible with PS4 games. So that's gonna be coming out. Um, I am excited for that. I actually never played uh Prince of Persia, I was kind of like the background cheerleader. It's like, whoa, yeah, keep going. And I didn't actually didn't do shit. So I would love to actually play it for once, but it just looks beautiful and I love the concept. And then there's um my last one is called The Medium. If anyone knows me, I love anything, the macabre horror, sci-fi. So this one is actually based on a psychological horror of a medium, and she's able to slip in between worlds, so she's able to slip into, I guess, this the natural world and then the spirit world. And it's a puzzle game as well. Uh, she fights supernatural entities, so that's pretty cool. It actually comes out in a couple days, um, January 27th. Um, that's going to be, I believe it's going to be for only Xbox, XS, and Microsoft. So I don't think it's going to be for PlayStation as of yet, but that looks pretty cool. So if anybody's into like the spiritual, supernatural puzzle games, I think it's some definitely something to take a look at.
SPEAKER_08Did you have an honorable mention?
SPEAKER_09I did not.
SPEAKER_08Well, I did, but someone has it. It's definitely going to be Resident Evil, but you know, that was my mention, so I can say you can say Resident Evil, and I can go right directly after that.
SPEAKER_01Of course he does.
SPEAKER_09Well, I will say Resident Evil is my honorable mention, but you know, I know Joe TSG is gonna go in depth, but it looks pretty good. It looks pretty cool. You have like an eight-foot-tall vampire lady, and I'm all about that. So yeah, I'll let Joe go into that though. It looks pretty awesome.
SPEAKER_06Before Joe does, I want to give my piggyback on uh Prince of Persia. Um, I played the original one of Sands of Time, uh Prince Dustin, uh or Dustin, uh, if you want to be Caucasian, uh uh was uh phenomenally created. It was like if you ever wanted to take the original uh Disney Aladdin game that almost nobody could get to Averba uh and play with Aladdin and then take it up into more of a CGI kind of 3D parkour type of game. That's literally what Prince of Persia was. Um the different enemies, uh of course, the control of time to a certain degree, um, going through the catacombs, the dungeons, the uh the uh the menagerie. Uh the amount of times that they said a menagerie in that game, I learned what that word was because of that game. Like I did not know what a menagerie was. But it's like you must climb to the top of the bird menagerie. Oh, the king and sultan's menagerie. Oh, the sands of times are swelling around the menagerie. I was like, guys, what the hell is this thing? But okay.
SPEAKER_09What is a menagerie? Because now I I want to know what that what is that? Is that like a cabinet?
SPEAKER_06A menagerie is a uh an environment or a I don't say a housing unit, but a place where a certain group of something is stored. So, like there's a bird menagerie, there's an animal menagerie. This is a menagerie of people, but you know, there's a whole nother thing you don't want to talk about. But specifically in that one, it was a bird menagerie uh that the Sultan had of all of his exotic birds in that region. Uh, but of course, they had all been contaminated, which is interesting because I I didn't know anything about the Prince of Purchase storyline before playing the game. So I didn't know like the sands would turn people into zombies, kind of sort of. It was interesting. They're like sand-filled zombies, so like the animals, too. So like you'll be fighting these birds that are like full filled with these pouches of sand. It's it's it's so dynamic. And then there's the uh the the palace defenses, you'd have to try and get around uh swinging pendulums and spiked floors. I don't know how many times are around time trying to get across this one spiked floor. Then they had the audacity to have spikes coming out of a wall above a pit. I'm like, Sultan, what would you do if this is on the way to the kitchen? Why are there spikes on the wall in a pit, a bottomless pit? I don't understand, man.
SPEAKER_09I have a question about the sands though. Like, so because I I haven't I haven't seen it being played since I was a child. So with the sand, I know that the Persian prince he ended up acquiring this sands of time, right? He ended up finding it or acquiring it, and he started okay, and so with the sand, and you said it turns people into zombies. I guess what is the mythical properties of the sand? Do they ever go into that or like with the bases or white okay?
SPEAKER_06Mythical in terms of like an actual myth. I would, I won't, I don't think so, but there it has its own lore inside of the game, so they do go into detail about that. So the dagger itself, um, which contains the sands of time, don't turn people into zombies. Uh, what occurred was um, and I won't go too give too much away, but an individual in the game uh was trying to seek the sands of time to control time in and of itself. Um, if you ever look back at the uh the movie, it was based off of his uncle trying to become Sultan or King of Persia. But um in the game specifically, the individual is trying to gain the dagger, which unlocks the hourglass, which contains the sands of time. Whoever contains both of those can control time itself. So uh at the beginning of the game, something occurred and all the sands got loose, and those sands are what turned everybody in that um in the kingdom into sand zombies. So when he uses the dagger, he can absorb the sand from these sand zombies, but it doesn't turn them back into humans, it just it disintegrates them. But that that's a whole nother thing. Yep.
SPEAKER_07I really I really enjoyed uh Santa Time. I was less less enthused with Warrior within. Uh but the third game brought it back. The third the third game was decent. Was that the third game? No, well, no, I'm saying the Santa Town was the first, Warriors Within was the second, and then and then it was the third, and the third wrapped up the trilogy.
SPEAKER_06What what console was the third on?
SPEAKER_07I think they was all on PS2, I think.
SPEAKER_06Oh, they're okay. Well, no, first one was on GameCube because I played it on GameCube because I didn't have a PS2. I'm saying that's the same time. Huh?
SPEAKER_07I'm saying they was on both.
SPEAKER_06No, I'm just saying the other two weren't on there. That's why I'm the only one. Oh, oh yeah, so that I've never played the second and the third one. I've only played the first one because it's on the same one. So yeah, disrespectful. But anywho, all right, uh, so did anybody else have a piggyback? Nope. Okay, Jeho TSG.
SPEAKER_01I'm not muted. That's funny. Uh, so my three games are well, I'll first start off with the Disgaea 6. Um, I've been a huge fan of Disgaya since the first one that came out on PS2 originally. Um, as well as a huge fan of just tactical games, period. Final Fantasy Tactics is probably one of my top five favorite games of all time. Um, and then another game, La Place O Tactics, which is also by the same company that that uh made Disgaya. Um if you're not familiar with it, it's basically a tactical anime RPG um where you can choose a large number of different characters with a variety of different job classes. Um the level cap on it is like ridiculous. It's like 9 billion and 99, I think, or some shit like that now. It's ridiculous. Um, but it's just an overall, just like fun tactical RPG that will drive you crazy sometimes for sure. Uh the next game, which is probably my most highly anticipated game for this year, is Resident Evil Village. Um it's it it's a game that holds like a nostalgic place in my heart or just Resident Evil in general. Um I watched my dad play that and uh eventually is what spawned like that love of of like zombie games. Silent Hill's another uh series that I really enjoy as well. But uh Resident Evil Village is coming out in in May, I believe. Is it May or March? I think it was May. Anyway. Uh May 2021. Um I'm currently playing through Biohazard now. Uh I've been putting that putting off that game for a while just because white people on a farm just creep me out more so than like zombies and mutants. Um and that has been a very wild ride so far. Uh and my last game is uh Outlast Trials. Um again, I just love horror games, and this one is I think centered um during the Cold War. Uh and apparently there is like um basically human experimentation and test subjects, and uh it kind of centers around um child experimentation as well, too, a little bit. So I just thought that was somewhat interesting. Um any give me a first-person horror, I'm probably gonna want to play it. I'll be freaking out the entire time, but I'm definitely gonna be playing it. Uh and then my honorable honorable mention is uh Pokemon Snap. Um, I've never really been interested in playing a Pokemon Snap game. I love Pokemon, hate taking pictures, but this might be a game that I I might just like watch people play. Hopefully not sober. We'll see. But uh yeah, that's that's all of them for me.
SPEAKER_09I wanted to piggyback on Resident Evil Village. I recently watched the um the demo play. Did you watch the demo? Like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_01Because I want to play it.
SPEAKER_09Oh, the demo is, I mean, and I'm not even much of a demo watcher, but the it's so realistic. Like it almost looks like you're watching a movie. And um like they the textures, like I'm really big on details, and you know, people think that when it comes to art or when it comes to games, it's actually the big objects that sell it. For me, it's like the textures, things that people don't pay attention to, like the the look of water or the look of wood, you know, does it look like it actually you could touch it and it actually gives you that texture of wood? And it was just so fucked up in the best way possible. And it was just very, very creative, even on like when you were seeing kind of like bodies, how bodies were. It just it just it really was almost psychological for sure.
SPEAKER_02Because it was hot as shit.
SPEAKER_09And then like seeing like a lot of like female, I guess, like antagonists as well. Like it was it was sexy. Like, I I I want I want to play it. I'm gonna be scared of my motherfucking mind because that demo shook the fuck out of me. But like it was hot, so I really like how they're kind of going back to their roots on you know that that the feel of like helplessness. And it's like there's no one with you, you don't have any partner to shoot, shoot them up with. And I think from what I heard, it's just more survival. It's not even it's not even much of action.
SPEAKER_01You have to try to shoot. The these last few games have been mostly I guess they've been mostly focusing on like a cinematic like horror experience versus like some of the old games that are more action-centered. Um and I've never, I mean, I I I definitely enjoyed the action of the early Resident Evil games, but there was something about playing through Biohazard that I was actually surprised by because I've never really been a big fan of like first person games in general. Like just I like seeing my character. I like especially if there's like character customization and all of that. But uh it didn't really bother me as much. Um and again, the game is just more it there are action elements, obviously, but it definitely centers around creating just this creepy atmosphere with these characters that just are honestly disgusting as hell looking. But uh you actually somewhat feel for them too, especially once you start to get to know the story and you start to learn about how these characters became who they are or what they are at this. Um and looking at like just the trailers, and then they also uh recently had their uh showcase for Village. I am super excited to see that. I even pre-ordered the collective edition that comes with like comes with like a little statue of the guy.
SPEAKER_09That's so cute.
SPEAKER_01So I I'm just really looking forward to this game come out. I need to get made PS5 at some point though, because I really want to play that game. Like, I'm probably gonna play it on every single difficulty, but I really cannot wait to play the game on PS5.
SPEAKER_09I want to watch someone play. So when Rona's done, I would love to like come over to someone's house and just watch them play.
SPEAKER_01So I'll get to that quite one day.
SPEAKER_09Oh no, no.
SPEAKER_07When Rona's gone, yeah, uh, so yeah, just uh jump on a few of those actually. Uh one one I'm actually uh I'm I'm excited to jump into this Resident Evil as well. I haven't played since four, but I've been keeping an eye on them. Uh and uh and this one actually seems to have uh I mean all of them since four have had a lot of things from four because four kind of uh redefined three third person uh gameplay, especially shooting uh in a lot of ways. But um, but uh but but I've seen a few uh specific gameplay things uh in the in the trailers that are like reminiscent of four. And uh and and also I'm I'm really enjoying this uh this this zeitgeist of everyone enjoying this this grown ass capital W woman that everyone wants wants her to step on them that is uh she fine as shit though like she fine like poof yeah I mean that's that's that's why I like she's grown from like she is not pretty but but but she but she but you know you can just look at her she does she she owns she owns in the shit she knows the fuck she is she gonna take what she wants from you and this is it's a whole vibe I love it I climbed the tree happily uh gladly making tree house uh is like we live here now I actually do have one more honorable mention um which since Domo isn't here I'm just gonna say Dragon Age.
SPEAKER_01Uh I don't know if Shampoo Brees is going to dive a little bit more into it though.
SPEAKER_09Nice. I didn't know Dragon Age is coming out with the new game.
SPEAKER_01They are yeah were you gonna talk about that one?
SPEAKER_03No, you can go ahead.
SPEAKER_01Oh, uh um so that so never has like a game has uh has ever like rapped me as much as the Dragon Age series has, like as far as lore, character design. It's actually what got me into like the kind of um uh turn-based style of RPG games, which unfortunately have kind of taken a backseat to like action RPGs. Um but just the first game was amazing, the second game was a little man Inquisition, it was okay. Um but I I definitely Origins is still one of my favorite games to this day. So I was look I'm highly looking forward to the fourth game. Uh the world will probably end by the time it comes out, however, but you know, that's why it's honorable because who knows when it's coming out.
SPEAKER_07But that's it. Uh yeah, and also uh uh pretty much exactly what you said about uh this guy I've been I've been on since uh since the first one. I've I played like all the offshoots here, Lapucelle, Makai Kingdom, uh Phantom Brave. Uh like this just just gamifying the concept of removing all limits in all sense. Uh yeah uh I'm you know I haven't I haven't been in love with every single one, but uh like like I didn't put this guy on this list because I'm not necessarily excited about it, but I'm also gonna buy it day one. I'm always gonna buy it day one. It's just his grandfather then I'm a I'ma jump in, I'ma play it way longer than I should because of the because the game doesn't really stop. Um you're a whore for the sky. Yeah, but uh yeah, definitely, definitely looking looking forward to that.
SPEAKER_06All right. So we will now round it out with shampoo bracelets, jammy beat.
SPEAKER_03Um I would like to first caveat this with uh I look forward to games nowadays, but with the recent, with last year especially, but not just last year, a couple games before that. I can't really say I look forward to too much because a lot of games nowadays they seem like they're really unfinished. So um it's just it's just a habit now of games coming out. Like you got Anthem, um, which came out, and that was unfinished as hell, and I look forward to that. Uh and drama, Mass Effect and Dramata, that was finished as hell, and I look forward to that. And just recently signed performed 2077, which hurt me. But I I got out of that, I got out of that before it really cost me money, so it didn't hurt me too much. Um but so on that note, um, these are games that I look forward to just because they have a proven, they have a very proven like background, and the developers way more proven than most of the people that I just mentioned. So um, because even for CD Project Red, they only really had Witch of Three, and everybody jumped on them like they wouldn't know how to shit. So um, but um starting off, I would like to start with uh Near Replicant. I have played the previous, I've played Near Automata, which led me to play the previous three years before that, see how crazy that story really is. But uh Near Automata was the the pinnacle for me. That was uh I think I have a couple platinum games. Actually, yeah, that's not the only platinum game thing I got with you. But uh but platinum games, one, they have a proven track record with um Bayonetta, the whole Bayonetta series as a whole. Like anybody played Bayonetta, they know how the action games go. Um Neo Automata was this crazy game that was action heavy as hell. It was everything I would have wanted from an action game that was somewhat open world, but it switches game style so much that I really don't even know what to rate anymore. Because at one point it was grand. I mean not grandi. Um was uh uh joint where you pretty much were you a side scroller where you fly around. Yeah, a side. Yeah, is is is that it's a side scroller in terms of like going up, like there's some levels where you can literally just go through a map and it's a whole like Super Mario action game. Like it's like it's the weirdest thing in the world, and then all of a sudden it turns into like devil may cry, and you're doing these crazy ass combos. Um I have I love that game pretty much. That was one of my favorite games. I think the year came. I played the year after it came out, and um that was one of my most enjoyable games. So I do look forward to Near Replicate, which is actually a precursor to Near Automata, and it's a remake of the previous, one of the previous three Near games, I think, that didn't come over, that didn't come from overseas. So this is our take on that. Um the game is scheduled to come out on uh April, was it April 23rd of this year? And I very much look forward to it. Actually, it's being published by Square Enix. I'm sorry. Um, but uh it's it's I'm looking forward to this game, especially. Um another game I want to get into, which is actually, I'm gonna be honest, I've actually been kind of playing this game since this whole conversation's been going on. Uh Baldur's Gate 3. Baldur's Gate 3 is an amazing. I mainly look forward to this, not because I played the previous Baldwin's Gates, but because I played uh Larian Studios' previous game, Divinity 2 and Divinity 1, which the uh especially in Divinity 2, which was what kind of brought me into their graces. Um their combat system for RPGs one of the most in-depth combat systems I think I played, as uh Suchi talked about Octopath Travel, which I didn't greatly enjoy that just because of how they did weaknesses in the sun game in that. Um in Larian Studios RPGs, it's everything goes. So if I freeze the floor, you can slip. I can slip. It just depends on how I play at that. Like if I'm if I were to blow, if I were to throw some oil down and say, what do y'all has a fire arrow or just a candle? We can light this whole bitch on fire. Like it's just like all that on fire. Say I have psychic powers, I can kill you, you can kill bosses with boxes just by throwing heavy ass boxes at them. That's a playstyle. Like this is what Larry Studios allows you to do. Larry Studios allows you to literally get away with anything you want to do. If you can just you're smart enough to pull it off, good luck. And uh and uh I do look for a plus, like I said, I haven't really played D D in so long, and um, I just need another D D game. So the fact that they combine that's perfectly marriage in my mind.
SPEAKER_01Is it officially released or are they?
SPEAKER_03It's actually not officially released, it's early access. It actually came out in October last year. I was so confused.
SPEAKER_01I was like, it came out and I missed this.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's it's out. It's out. The early access is out, so you're gonna play like I want to say the first act, which is normally what they do with their games.
SPEAKER_07Huh? Just still long as fuck.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's yeah, the first act. Even for when they did that with Divinity 2, the first act could last you like a couple weeks. So like it's like, you know, so it it's it's a it might as well be a game. They just constantly improve it.
SPEAKER_01Um, but yeah, that order a new computer.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that that that yeah, that game is uh that game is something different. Uh like the way Larry Studios does their games, I will always be in love with the RPGs. I haven't seen anything this refreshing to me since like Legend of Dragoon when that was long ago when that came out, in terms of like just turn-based RPGs and stuff. Um the last, now my last of the three is actually um because of as Say and Late talked about, just you know, couch co-op type games. Uh, and that is Lego Star Wars, the Skywalker Saga, which is supposed to come out October of this year. December. December, December of this year. Um, so I look forward to this because me and my wife got heavily involved in a lot of the other previous Lego games, uh, specifically the Harry Potter collection, which took us months. And uh we're still actually checking back. We still we're still playing that. We had this game for two years and we're still trying to find all the secrets. Yeah, like Lego games are like like if you got OCD, good fucking luck. Uh any Lego game, it'd be Marvel, like the Marvel game. We have the uh Marvel, I want to say it's uh DC Villains. Yeah, the DC Villains game, and that is extensive as hell. And you can create your own person and you know go through the whole story. Y'all can go through the story together and still have to go back through stages to find stuff because it's like, oh, I got this power now. Let me go back here. Oh damn, I can only get like I don't know, 90, 96 of the 100 secrets on this one stage. So I gotta come back later when I find those secrets on another stage and get some more powers to come back. Lego games will are like it's a it's a like well, I want to say it's a like it's almost like you get an addiction to finding secrets in Lego games. It's really scary, actually. Like, like I feel sorry for anybody for anybody that has to go through that. It's it's wild. Um the last, and uh like I said, it comes out December this year, so uh if I disappear for a while, that's most likely why. Um just not gonna be heard from again. Um so the last game I would like to talk about, and there's no actual date on this, but because I love this previous game so much, and this is actually a recommendation from Suchi, who um I heard the story about he found out how much hours I got of the game was shocked. We found out because it was a week after I got it. So it's like it's called Astral Chain 2. I played the first Astral Chain, which is literally an anime that you can play. It even has an intro after you do the introductory, like after you do the introductory stage, there's a whole anime opening that they introduce you to the characters that you'll be meeting in the game. It's the coolest shit I've ever seen. So it's and it's uh that was actually Platinum Games uh from Bayonetta. They actually modeled a lot of their stuff after Bayonetta, and there's another game they had that I saw some um mechanics of. I can't remember the name of it right now, but uh it was it's a lot of like the combat mechanics, the fact that you can actually switch between four what they call legions, but it's kind of like familiars. They're like they're like like you got a wolf that you can ride around on, where as long as you're riding on it, you don't get hit. Uh you have this, like, I wasn't saying it's like a fist rock geodude type dude that can hop on you like armor, you can float around and start punching the shit out of people like a Street Fighter game. It's like you can it's it's a uh sword familiar and a bird, uh not a bird, uh flying archer uh familiar or legion. That like you can literally just leave the archer and then go fight with another legion and mess somebody's shit up. It was some of the coolest combat I ever seen. The fact that the way the ultras worked with it was cool. Uh, I really did enjoy that game, especially up to the final boss battle, which was one of the most volume mental final boss battles I think I've played in my life. So um, yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to that second game as well. That'll be that's my honorable mention, actually. So um, yeah, that's it. Like I said, I would like to get more, but Baldur's game is taking my mind for uh that game is fucking amazing. Uh I fucking love this game, but um, yeah, I did I have some other stuff to say about previous things, but then this game sucked me in and the conversation was going for so long, and then you know, kids and back up.
SPEAKER_02So, yeah, it's like downloading now. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07So, so uh because I know I got a lot of change in my pocket because I got two cents to say about everything. But but uh yeah, Baldur's Gate was one of my original three, but I didn't you know I wanted to give it give it the shampoo.
SPEAKER_03I want to give it to you because I did have another game I was going to use. I had another actual game, but once again, it's another game that I don't know the date for, but screw it. I'm gonna mention it anyway. Black Myths, Wu-Call. Oh, Jesus. Um Black Myths Wu-Call. I look forward to that shit. Um I had no date for it, but pretty much it's like it was what it from software did a Wu-Call game. That's where I look at that shit. And it looks amazing. If you have not seen it yet, just go look up Black Myth Wu Call.
SPEAKER_01Is that an actual game or a tech? I thought it was a tech trailer.
SPEAKER_03It was I thought it was actually a game that was coming out. I just thought it was the way they made it look, it was the actual game that was coming out. It was gameplay and everything. So um, I just don't know the exact date for it yet, but I do know it's supposed to be a development. Um, if it is not a game, that will hurt my soul. That will hurt me deep within my core. Because I am a big Wukong fan. And uh journey.
SPEAKER_07From what I read, it was uh it was a game from a Chinese studio. I didn't uh I it was a it was a new studio, but uh but I don't uh uh same.
SPEAKER_03That better not that better not be a joke, but uh pitchfork and torture.
SPEAKER_07But but yeah, my my little bit on uh Bald Baldersgate. I've uh I I I have played uh Baldur's Gate 2, but that was so long ago I barely remember remember it. I was probably too young to actually get all the get all the mechanics. But uh if if anyone knows me, uh you know yeah, I like I like mechanics, I like crunch, I like I like depth, like both narrative and gameplay-wise. And uh and uh and like Shampoo uh said, um also it's the Divinity Original Sin, because there's like there were six there were six Divinity games before Original Sin. And we're and we're not talking about that. But uh yeah, the the Divinity Original Sin games like reintroduced me to like the isometric turn-based like RPG genre, and I've just been scooping them up. I've just been buying all of them, and they've been sucking up all my life. But like the uh I love like the little quirky British storytelling of the uh same, like the the the mechanics, like you you you you make it rain, you shock you you shoot the lightning at the rain, it turns it it turns into a mist that they can't see through, then you stab someone in the back because they couldn't see through is amazing. But um and and also as an avid DD player, I'm definitely I'm I was super excited when I heard they were uh working on Bardiscate and uh and uh and and going you know and going back into that world because I've you know I've been I've been playing D like 16 years. Uh so it's it's really fun seeing like a big major studio jump in and and uh and also and also like I've also been been in the early access of uh Bardis Gate 3. And it and it is such like a a dead game. Like every every every corner like has a secret. Every like you know, we every everything, everything you say to a person matters. Like it is it is so gorgeous, it is so pretty. My computer can't can't really render it properly. So also uh look at looking forward to upgrading soon or them uh announcing uh a console port, even though that's not really a game you want to play on the game. But I heard I heard but I heard good things about uh original sends uh ports to console. So uh so I haven't ruled that out completely. But yeah, super, super looking forward to uh uh Bardis Gate. It is so it is so it's such a good start. Also, it's okay to release things in early access if your things aren't done. Just tell everybody you're not gonna do.
SPEAKER_03I wish more people do that. Like just release it in early access so you can at least get an idea how bad your shit is so you can fix it by the time it's supposed to come out. Yep.
SPEAKER_07Hades was a lot of people's game of the year uh 2020, and it would came out in 2019. It was in early access. It's okay. Finish your shit. Thank you.
SPEAKER_11This is a bit of PSA.
SPEAKER_06That doesn't help everybody. We saw what happened to Anthem, but Miss Kittle.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's a true um and then on top of that, they took they took away time from Dragon Age to put out fucking Anthem.
SPEAKER_10Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Why? And then didn't even finish the damn game, really.
SPEAKER_03Anthem was supposed to be good and it just didn't work. It's like look, they didn't finish it because they started late.
SPEAKER_06Was better than the actual game. That's the sad part. The early access was great. I enjoyed the early access of Anthem. It got me hyped, it got me pumped. I was like, this is about to be dope. And then I like you can ask uh Kaze. I was there. I bought you, I told you before, I liked the legendary Ultra World Edition. I got the uh uh early pass, the early access. We were sitting there playing it. We was going through the game, it was so dope. I I was ready, I bought the game. Matter of fact, not only did I buy the game, I bought the digital and the physical copy. Like I was, I mean, I didn't try to, it was on access. Anyway, I had both. And the physical copy is still wrapped up in still of fame, sitting in my house. Like we were ready to play the joint, and then the morning it was supposed to come out. I don't know what I did the night before. I guess I was tired. So I was like, I'll just play it at like 12 o'clock. By the time I woke up, everybody's talking about they PS4 done crashed, uh, the game done dropped, the servers is done, the this, that, and the third. I'm like, oh, I ain't doing it. Yeah, I try to play it.
SPEAKER_03I try to play it on the computer. I got a whole EA uh origins account just so I can play it and try it out. And I remember I played it for a couple the first two days, it was cool. I guess I got to a certain point in the story where it was like, nah, bruh, you stay in this hallway. And I'm like, you sit right here in this hallway. Don't worry about it. We're gonna carry the game on foot. Like, I wanna I actually want to try this out. Nah, bruh. Just log in. You see the hallway? Get the fuck out. And then I'm back in the hallway.
SPEAKER_06It's the end of the game. That hallway is the end of the game.
SPEAKER_03That hallway was the end of the game. You see the light in the hallway, you'll never get there, bitch.
SPEAKER_02Never get there.
SPEAKER_03And then you put me right back up. All right, cool. But I will say this Anthem did lead to me playing Darksiders 3, which is actually a good game. I told you before that. You didn't tell me before that. What? You didn't tell me before I played Dark Siders 3. I played Dark Towers 3, and then you were like, oh yeah, that is a good game.
SPEAKER_06Don't do this. Dark Siders trilogy. I'm still like one, two, and three.
SPEAKER_03You said the first two were good. I knew about the first two.
SPEAKER_06I played the first one. Why I know that's bullshit? Because they announced Dark Siders 3 years before it came out. I had already bought again the legendary platinum edition and was ready for that game to come out. I got I got uh um uh images in my email, I got the special edition book. Yeah, that's that's that's cool. You have to do it. That's what they had so many copies. This is another game I had a bunch of doctor bought me that game for my birthday. I had the digital copy of that game.
SPEAKER_03You have these nice things, and I'm happy for you. I told you about you know what I would have liked it if you shared it with me.
SPEAKER_06Oh I'm gonna wrap up this episode. Um, Miss Gibbs, I did want to ask you of the games that we have mentioned today, are there any specific ones that you have now um heightened your excitement and anticipation for 2021 gaming?
SPEAKER_10Um probably Deathloop. Um I'm I'm really yeah, I'm really looking forward to that now. And um I I wasn't even aware that Dynasty Warriors was making a nine, so so yeah, I'm definitely about to cop that too.
SPEAKER_02So yes.
SPEAKER_10Oh definitely um definitely gonna be hopping on.
SPEAKER_01I've never played a dynasty warrior game, so I might say that wow. The only like closest to that was like Dragon Quest Heroes. That's that's about it. As far as I've gotten to like a Dynasty Warriors game.
SPEAKER_09I have so many husbands and so many girlfriends as well. Like, I'm just saying, it's a free-verall. Like Dynasty Warriors, that's a great game if you don't want to commit to nothing. If you just want to pick it up, play the game, and one campaign lasts for maybe like a half hour, um, depending on how if you just want to just straight kill niggas, you know what I'm saying? Then it could last for a whole hour because you won't have like a kill count of over a thousand just to be petty, or if you actually want to do the game, you can finish it in 15. So it's a great game if you just want to kill time and not have to think, you know what I'm saying? Like it's a great game to pick up and then all hack and slash dog.
SPEAKER_03All hack and slash warriors has like 50 million like side things, like you got Gundam Dynasty Warriors, you got fucking uh Yeah, like there's so with Dinosaur Wars.
SPEAKER_09If you want to play like the tactical, if you want to play like the tactical version of Dynasty Wars, you can actually pay attention to like the the different um objectives. So um it's it's based kind of loosely off of the romance of the three kingdoms. So it's like let's say you have to escort one of the emperors, um, you know, so that that per you know that that person can be able to flee to like a ship. So you basically it's kind of timed in a way, because if you wait too long, the person's dead. It actually shows like your morale. So if you're going to sometimes it's not even about killing a whole bunch of people, it's really about killing the generals. And so if you kill the generals, your morale will boost in your cause. Like you want to be in the blue, you don't want to be in the red. Um, so it's pretty cool. You have Lu Boo with who is the what Lu Bu? Yo, this the fear in my bones and the moistness between my legs.
SPEAKER_02I'm like, oh, I was actually gonna say Lu Boo.
SPEAKER_07I was gonna bring up Lubu earlier.
SPEAKER_09I think we're gonna bring up Lubo I knew I might, you know, drag this out, so I was just like I'm just gonna not make it, but I'm glad I'm glad you're like Lu Boo is like the umbaku of like he's so like when people like it's and then he sees like you all redlash guy. Oh like I'm telling you, Dynasty Warriors, yeah, I love it. It just rouse rouse you up, and um, you do learn a little bit of Chinese history, so it's pretty cool. I would I would highly recommend it. So if a 12-year-old me could play Dynasty Warriors, not knowing what the fuck is going on, uh anybody could play it. I will say they have very interesting eyebrows, it's like everybody, it's like the eyebrow technology is something it's all spiky and shit, like it just looks so it looks so dramatic, it's very theatrical.
SPEAKER_07Um it is drama personified.
SPEAKER_09It's so so much drama, and um, but it's pretty interesting. They they even go into um I think Zhu Rong. Were they supposed to be like like Tiffany? What was Zhu Rong and uh and um her husband? Zhu Rong was like this chick with a huge boomerang, and she was yeah, I think they're supposed to be Mongolian or something like that. And I don't know, but you could like ride huge elephants, ride bears, wolves, it's really cool, you know, storm the castle, flood the gates, it's it's some cool shit. So highly recommend it.
SPEAKER_06All right, we had a couple more recommendations. Uh so now we know what all we're all gonna play. All we're what we're all interested in. If you have some um uh additions that you would like to add to our list, please feel free to share them on our social medias. Uh, of course, the blurred spectrum at uh on Facebook as well as on Instagram and then blurred spectrum. Well, well, the blurred spectrum on Instagram and Facebook. The blurred spectrum on Twitter. That was so difficult for no reason.
SPEAKER_02Oh yes, it was.
SPEAKER_06Um, if you want to add to any of our individual lists or maybe have a conversation uh with any of us about our choices, uh myself, Suchino Shogun at Umbral Starcade, on if not all, most platforms that's Instagram, Twitter, Twitch, Facebook, YouTube. I know I'm missing one, but it's fine. All of them. And maybe Discord? I don't know. Maybe, I don't know. I don't remember.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, um, I didn't know that's it.
SPEAKER_07Uh Casey showing you uh on YouTube.
SPEAKER_10Miss Skittles, uh Miss Gittles T R underscore cosplay on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. And I got new video, money.
SPEAKER_06From one TikTok to another, Sayone.
SPEAKER_09I have two videos on TikTok, so one will be uploaded once a year. But I'm on TikTok at Sione Cosplay. Um on IG at Sayone underscore cosplay and Facebook at Sione Cosplay.
SPEAKER_06Joe, T S G.
SPEAKER_01Sorry, uh Teams was acting up and I was trying to fucking buy this game. Um you can just find me at I'm on nothing anymore, so uh don't follow me?
SPEAKER_05Don't follow you? Yeah, it's fine. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, don't add me on Facebook because I will block you. But if you see me in the public, say hi. It's fine.
SPEAKER_06Why would they see you in public?
SPEAKER_01The doctor.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Ronus.
SPEAKER_07That's fine.
SPEAKER_06I'm not fine at all.
SPEAKER_01They should be able to recognize you from that. Six feet, six feet. That's all I ask, you know.
SPEAKER_06I don't know. The doctor. Doctor open on Facebook. Shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_03Catch me on shampoo bracelets on uh Instagram and then Shanley B87 on Twitter. And uh since you know, I had this conversation with Suchi, when he found out he was like, Wait, you've had this all along? Uh shampoo bracelets on Discord. If y'all ever looking to like talk, play a game, whatever, let me know. If y'all see me on, hey, hit me up. All right.
SPEAKER_06So uh we are going to be live streaming some games in the next couple of months. Of course, like we said, there's a bunch of games that we're really interested in playing. Um, one being uh Monster Hunter Rise. That's something that's panelists plans up. I know I thought you were um also Overwatch 2, uh, if it ever comes out. I know a couple of our panelists are looking forward to that game as well. Um, I would like to hope you're not playing It Takes Two with any of us, because I think all of us, I mean well, maybe not any of us, there's a couple people looking for people. Anyway, it's not my business. Anyway, so thank you for listening. Please stay tuned for our next episode. Oh, this looks amazing. We have a phenomenal uh uh tournament coming up in February. Please stay tuned for that. Uh yeah, that's pretty much it. Bye on a watch.
