Welcome, ladies and gentlemen, people of all ages, individuals, those of us who have ushered in this last decade of excellence as it pertains to the Marvel cinematic universe, those who have been since the beginning of the Iron Man, all through the cross-wielding shields of the Black Panther, and all over the bifrost bridge of Thor, leading us to Disney Plus, where we find ourselves now being thrust into this canon called Wandavision. Oh, what? What welcome to Wandavision? Our blurred today have sat and we have watched every single week. We're actually right outside of uh the finale of WandaVision that just happened on Friday. Um, and we are gonna give you our not maybe not our live reactions, but our most visceral reactions to the entire series and its finale, leading us into what comes next, which many people speculate and assume and think. And you know, a lot of people were wrong, and we're gonna laugh in your faces. Uh no, we're not gonna be rude. Um, we're gonna laugh in your ears. There we go.
SPEAKER_09I'm gonna laugh in the faces.
SPEAKER_08So we're gonna go ahead and start. First, I'm gonna, of course, introduce our panelists, starting with myself, Suchino Shogun. Also, we have Ms. Skittles, we have uh Sione and Talon Flame, the flames.
SPEAKER_10Hello!
SPEAKER_08Just the flames, uh, we have shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_01What's up?
SPEAKER_08We have Joe Tsg, as known as Scarlet Nigger. Wow. How are you? We have the black McCoy, bonjour, and we have Kaze Shinryu. Hola, so of course, we're going to uh give our reactions to what we witnessed, what we what we took in. There have been many uh speculations, many theories, many fan dumb fictions of what was going to happen. Uh, there have been individuals upset about the slow pace, individuals uh uh grimacing about the fact that it wasn't a movie, uh, people assuming they knew what was gonna happen just because they didn't like I Love Lucy when they were kids. A whole bunch of stuff that occurred. Um, oh, we also had a top charting iTunes number one uh uh track from this uh uh show, which is you know amazing to really think about.
SPEAKER_09But you know what? The best part about the the best part about that is that the same track was also made by the same people who made a same who made a similar soundtrack that was extremely popular that so many adults got really tired of later on.
SPEAKER_08Yep, very annoying. Very annoying. Yep, the writers of Frozen were also the writers of Agatha all along. That's why it's stuck in your head.
SPEAKER_04All right, first of all, but you're not you're not gonna frozen, okay. Okay, that's what you're not gonna do.
SPEAKER_08I gotta root it for you. I apologize.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. All right, thank you.
SPEAKER_09I'm glad someone is here.
SPEAKER_01So what we're gonna do hate meal.
SPEAKER_08Oh, I'm not well, hey, frozen. All male is great male, anyway. Um, so what we're gonna do is we're going to we're gonna go around the dial and ask everybody what is their reaction? Um, what was their feeling as we traversed through WandaVision from episode one all the way to the finale? How do they feel? Even from the build-up, what before WandaVision started. What was your initial thoughts and then what happened throughout along the ride? And we are going to start with believe it or not, the Black McCoy. Grab your textbooks, everyone.
SPEAKER_09Oh that is so disrespectful. Um, it is. There's so much I have to say about Wandaberson. Which is why we're starting with you. That made I'm gonna temper it throughout the episode that made the show absolutely amazing. Um, one of my favorite things about it from jump was the fact that from like from from the like inception of the show, it's like they immediately play on the fact that something weird is happening. You have no idea what that weird thing is or why it is, it's just the fact that it's going on, you don't know what it is, and you've really find out that not even Wanda knows what it is in the first place. And so as the audience we're thrusted into this kind of this degree of mystery and ignorance that we have like not the largest attachment to, but we become a bit more confused because it's like there are layers of it. So we know that this is unusual, right? Like we've never seen an MCU production of any kind like this. We've never understood our characters being in a situation like this. We know that wanted, we know that vision is dead, so why is Vision here? There's a lot of things that are layered as far as mystery is concerned when it came to the show, and they did all of it extremely, extremely well. And I think that one of the things that we can't take for granted with it was that that as the show progressed, each thing, each layer got peeled back a little bit more and more. And you could tell not just with how the the backdrop of the show was set up, but how the characters interacted, how Wanda interacted with Vision, and even how the characters interacted with our main characters, and even the the very like the small idiosyncrasies that kind of came along with um the characters' interaction with the environment. It was all just so well crafted to the point where when they made the reveals that they did, even the smaller reveals that they made, everything just lined up so perfectly well. And I'll stop right there.
SPEAKER_03I thought that was beautifully done, um, Black McCoy. I really did because I was on there with you 100% with everything that you said. Um it was it was beautiful. It was beautiful, actually. Everything that you said was was was spot on. I agree 100%. Um it was very thought out and organized. Like everything that we see in a movie where it has a lot of loopholes, and you know, we don't understand what the hell is going on. Wanda division just the organization was spot the fuck on compared to other things that we might see um, you know, in an MC, uh, you know, like a Marvel Universe or even just regular movies in general. Like why where did this character come from? Why did this happen? What's their backstory? Um, so it it left off from, like you said, vision is dead. That's what you know, Marvel fans or you know, people who already watch the MCU universe knows what's going on. So, but it was it was this gorgeous. The pro the production was movie quantity quality in each episode, which is insane. The only time I saw a show that was like that was Hannibal. Hannibal was the only show that each episode was a fucking movie. So to see a show like this be I'm I'm thinking, how much money did they spend? Because this is just the the qual, you know, I love visuals. So the quality was just insane. It it grabbed you in. Um, I'm I'm a lover of like anything from like the Technicolor show to like, you know, back in the day, Ginger Rogers, so seeing like I love Lucy, Bewitched, it gave me those vibes in the very first episode. I know what the fuck I was watching. But like when said, like the Black McCoy said, you know, when right in the beginning, when the boss and the boss's wife came over and the nigga was choking and the wife started to fucking short circuit, stop it, stop it, stop doing it, what the fuck going on? Stop it. Like no nigga did, stop it, stop doing that, you stop choking to death. And I'm like, what the hell? And Wanda's looking like, what the hell? And we're all like, what the fuck? And help, helping me. And it's like, all right, well, uh, thanks, thanks. Y'all have a good night now. And what just what happened?
SPEAKER_09And so I I apologize. So one of the things you and you asked how much the show the budget was. So I just looked it up for roughly each episode, the budget was $25 million. So for nine episodes, the overall budget was about $225 million. Whoa.
SPEAKER_03So it really is a movie. That is a movie. That's a lot of fucking money.
SPEAKER_06It's worth it, but yeah. It's worth it.
SPEAKER_03It is worth it. I mean, yeah, D DC has its own issues, but I mean, I would I would say the production was was was gorgeous. I thoroughly loved it. I know there are a lot of people um who weren't into it uh because I maybe it could be, I think also it's a generational thing as well. We're in the time of instant gratification. And so a lot of people, when they see things, you have we're in the time of TikTok and Instagram where things are max 60 seconds, you know, vine, like that's our generation. So people don't have or can appropriate the time to actually sit and watch it in dedication, as long as it has, you know, the character growth. I'm all about character growth. I hate a lot of shows now because it's like boom, that's a character. There's no growth. That's it. It's just story. And I'm like, I love the you get to actually understand, you understand, you feel even the villain, you get to see, you know, the progression of why she is the way she is. And and you know, and I love that. You get to see, you know, different characters, you in how they operate. And I'm like, this is this is it was beautiful. It was probably one of the best shows, I would say, I've seen in a very long time that was thought out, that was organized, that didn't really leave too many loopholes that I saw that was a you know, that made me question. And um, it was just very powerful, you know, and also it makes you think if you had a loved one that died, you would burn the world for that to get that person back. You know, and so you kind of think like, I understand why Juan did what she did, but she also has to live with her repercussions in that she's gonna be fucking public enemy number one because she used people, even though it wasn't on purpose. She, it doesn't matter what you did, if it was on purpose or not, you ruined people's lives. And now you have to live with that. And so there's that character growth too. She was in denial the entire time. She knew in the back of her head, but she didn't want to actually live with it. But then at the very end, at the very conclusion of the entire series, you see her actually owning up to her mistakes, trying to correct things back and trying to base it, like you know, I I have to own, I have to live with this. You know, and you guys, you guys deserve your families. And I thought it was great. I I love seeing the character growth. I love seeing the organization and the visuals was just fucking beautiful. So for me, WandaVision gets a 10 out of 10. Um, 10 out of 10 for me for sure.
SPEAKER_06Uh especially like they it was like right next to the comic book when it comes to continuity or accuracy, but the white vision, I was so happy to see that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I didn't even know who White Vision was because I'm not I wasn't brought up on Marvel, I was more DC comic head. So I I wouldn't even know who White Vision was, but even even white vision, it wasn't just like an asinine person villain. You know, I love the conversation that White Vision and Vision had.
SPEAKER_09You know? Um I was I was I I was elated to hear that conversation. Like I was sitting, I was sitting next to Kazan Sushi, like, oh, talk about it. Talk about it.
SPEAKER_03It was great. It was like about what is self? What what makes a person a being? What makes a person authentic? Is it, you know, you actually living and breathing, or is it the memories? Is it the memories that actually makes you who you are, uh, who makes you have a soul? And it's interesting that vision had a soul stone because you know, vision had that. I felt I felt like vision was more human than humans are, to be, to be to be truly honest in the MC universe, you know, to actually really think about what it means to be alive, what it means to be a living being, but you don't have to be human to really have human nature and have a soul. So it was great. I I loved it. You know, we both finished the last episode literally last night. Um, and I I I really, I really enjoyed it.
SPEAKER_06Any theories for the the like the last episode? Did everyone did everyone else see the the last cutscene toward the end?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_08We're gonna get into the theories at the end. Oh, we'll get there.
SPEAKER_04Um so um, so not not to um not to correct say an A or anything. I love you, boo, but uh vision, vision has the milestone.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I'm sorry. Thank you.
SPEAKER_05Thank you. Somebody did it.
SPEAKER_03I wasn't going to I don't want I don't want nobody coming for my booze. No, correct me, I forgot that the soul stone that was Gomora, I think. Is that correct?
SPEAKER_09The Soulstone for the Soul Stone.
SPEAKER_03I don't want the mom people like bitch, you don't know shit.
SPEAKER_04But um, so I'm I am all the way in agreement with um the black mcall and saying that because like when I say so first of all, when when people was talking about like how like oh okay, let me let me go back. So in the beginning, when I first saw it, and I saw what the like like not the episode, but like the previews when Marvel announced and all this stuff, the anticipation for it was like, oh my God, first of all, it's MCU, so I'm always excited for anything MCU related. But um, but seeing it, I was just like, like I was like, ooh, what like what are they about to do with this? Like this looks uh questionable, but okay. I mean, it's I'm I'm gonna give it, I'm gonna go ahead and give it a go because it's it's Marvel. Um but upon watching it, when I like like I'm on board with everybody else, cinematically, like like like like what the fuck am I watching here? Like is this a movie or a television show? Because like when I say there was there was literally scenes that I was like, yo, what like how much did that shit cost? Because the way I just jumped out of my seat, like uh like like the scene where where they like they blew up her family's home, like when I say I was literally like like oh shit, like how much did that shit cost? Like instantly, how much did that cost? Because I'm watching a television show, maybe, movie. I I don't know what's happening here. But um, so like the budget, yeah, definitely movie, movie level production for every episode, and I very much appreciate that. Um, but also the progression of the story is uh is like major, major points for me. Um, I think I and I feel like Sayon A hit the the the nail on the head when she said this this generation is all about instant gratification. So they forget about storytelling and and in actuality when uh people retain information better when it's told in a story, um, rather than that 60 second, you know, I need this now, action now, uh when they gonna blow some shit up now. Like um, so I was I was very much appreciative of the storytelling part of this whole series. It was it was nine episodes of magnificent uh play-by-play, story development, character development. Um, like we're we're literally like deep dive into into Wanda's head after watching her go through uh a traumatic experience in her life, which is you know, the person her she loves dies twice in in her face. So so um like I I can't I can't imagine uh what I would go through as a regular ass human being, much less uh, you know, uh a whole Scarlet Witch. So um so I I just I I thoroughly enjoyed every every moment of it. Um it and and it was like I couldn't, it was definitely one of those um series that you couldn't wait for the next episode because because there was so much going on, it wasn't like I was gonna be like, yeah, well, this definitely gonna happen. Um yes, it it did, it was on par with with the comics itself, but just the way they presented it, it was it was it was on par but different. So I didn't I I didn't know what to expect the next episode, um especially going from you know, we got we started out in the bewitched and then ended up in the present day. So that that whole um just timeline and and the way it was told was completely different than I I expected. Um, but I also enjoyed it. So yeah, I think I'm gonna try to cut it off there.
SPEAKER_03Skittles, did you notice from the 50s how it was grainy black and white?
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh, yes.
SPEAKER_03It was it wasn't, it was like it was talent who brought it up, and then the 60s, it was black and white, but the shit was clear black.
SPEAKER_08Remastered.
SPEAKER_04What is going on?
SPEAKER_09The details uh they painted my favorite thing about that first episode is that when they when she like she was using her powers to to basically warp reality to have like to make the rings, they even use the same like poor like scene transition quality to show that she made the rings so they just appeared out of nowhere. It was amazing.
SPEAKER_03The pots and pans is kind of slowly drifting, should look like Fantasia, the pots kind of like wingling around a string, like it was just so funny. And um, I don't know if anyone has read The Giver, it was giving me vibes as well. Um, when especially when Wanda saw the red helicopter, that's exactly like The Giver in the book. You know, you have this monotone environment where everything is like black and white or gray, you don't know anybody's ethnicity, everybody looks the same. And this one person is the only person that could see color, and that's the giver. And he couldn't understand comprehend what red is. And so to see like a red something, an object that's completely different, that reminded me of Wanda, because she was looking at this shit like, what the fuck is that? And it was a red helicopter, that was the helicopter drone that um that was brought from outside. So our even the little details, even the commercials, the hype commercials, the commercials were so artfully done in such a disturbing way.
SPEAKER_04The Easter eggs, oh my god. Okay, but like I said, but I'm we'll we'll go back.
SPEAKER_07Where you was going, but uh, you know, it it was it was it was like one of those Disneyland roller coasters where uh where they kind of take you through uh uh through the attraction first. And like, you know, you see like a story breaking down, and you know, like, you know, it's like you know, it's either like a ghost house or like someone, you know, somebody died. You know, it's like it's new little details and things to see and find in every direction you go. And uh and you know, and you're like just being drawn in by all the details until you get that drop. And you know, I you know, I was uh I was you know, I was definitely uh you know, I felt pretty safe like looking looking forward to it. Marvel hasn't let me down yet, and I think a lot of people I you know, I think it's I think it's two sides of that. I think I think a lot of people was, you know, they they see something they don't they don't recognize, and it's like, well, if if if if nothing's bad has come out yet, then it's kind of like what you you know what you worry about. And then you know, but then it's that other thing where I you know I can I can I can I can see where Wanda wouldn't necessarily be for everybody. Uh you know, everybody doesn't you know uh you know wanna just sit back and check it check out the all the details and put the story together. You know, that's not everybody's vibe. I can you know I can get that there's other people who who just never done it before don't know how. You know, and that's not their fault either. Um but uh yeah, especially like being a uh being a you know a relatively uh big you know Marvel comic fan. It was it was like The amount of anxiety, like just running possible stories and references through my head. Like, oh my God, is this this, is this, oh shit. Was it it? Shit was like I remember like when they showed when they uh when the like be keeper came up and they showed the sword, I was like, oh, that can't be sword. I hit I had five deeper references.
SPEAKER_02Like it was high, right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I thought it was a high agent. Uh yeah, yeah, that was that was like that was like my third, my second to third one. But um, but no, yeah, well was like the just fantastic. It's not, it's not my it's not my like my favorite show. But um, it was an amazing experience. Um I'm I'm so glad that they were that they trusted themselves and they were brave enough to do it. Because it was definitely something new. And and and and one of my favorite things about someone doing something new is after after it's done well, you know, you know the you know the next time it's gonna be even better. Like you know, this is the demo, this is a you know, it's just this this is practice. And next time it's like they they they gonna hit it, they're gonna hit that thing in stride. Um, especially, especially with this like this nice slow place, and they put everything in place. So like, so now every you know, this everything is like set up so we can go on whatever the next project is. But yeah, Wanda was just you know fantastic.
SPEAKER_09You know, as you were saying that, it made me re kind of think about the MCU as a whole and kind of how WandaVision came from all of that, and just the the very like adventurous genre shifts they have made with as the MCU continued to progress. Because, at least from my perspective, for all intents and purposes, like Iron Man, the Captain America movies, the first two Thor movies, they were all pretty much in the same genre of like superhero action film. And at least for me, it wasn't until like Thor Ragnarok where all of that started to shift like really intensely as far as like how that story was told, the level of comedy, um, and the the way it was really written and the different kind of things they played upon in making the movie, because that was it was like Thor Ragnarok was more satirical than anything, but it still told a really great story and it still set up so many awesome things. And like Ant-Man was, you know, pretty much it was more so like a comedy movie. And so um, like both Ant-Man movies were almost predominantly comedy films for me. Um by the time you get to one, like a show like WandaVision, after everything is said and done, because you know, even Captain Marvel and the Avengers films and so they were still action, they were still like superhero action movies. But by the time you get to WandaVision, it was like they made this, they took a chance and made this really huge, like uh this huge tonal shift in the kind of genre of show they had the capacity to make. And I think that was my favorite thing about it, especially when it started off. Because you know, eventually, you know, they they told a decent story, but they started in a for all intents and purposes, a very risky place for a lot of viewers, for it seems like. And they even when they did start in their place, they did it really well. The homages that they were, um, the homages that they made, like all of these different things that they were doing in those first two episodes, um, as they transitioned into the third, really solidified that, solidified for me that when it came to not just Disney, of course, but when it came to Marvel films, we're not like it's like we're not just one-trick ponies. We can tell a diverse array of stories and we can tell them really well, and we can tell them in ways that make sense.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, definitely. I've definitely been prepared for them to kind of bear off into something new, like just uh like you know, like like even like you said, like Ant Ant-Man was a comedy, Guardians of the Galaxy was a comedy, but like today, even as comedies, they felt, you know, different. Like, you know, Doc, you know, Doctor Strange had a completely different feel to the other ones. It was, you know, it was definitely like based more on the mystical mourn of discovery, and you know, letting, you know, of course, of course, you had your little, you know, your little D V Z battle eventually, but there was a lot of build-up to that. Um and and especially when they uh put a lot put a lot of that guardian to galaxy DNA into Thor Ragnarok, that's you know, that's when I was like, oh, y'all can just do what y'all want. Okay. And y'all like read y'all like rebranded characters, y'all was like, oh, this isn't working. We they they they quickly and efficiently like picked them up, you know, uh put a put them on a new plane, you know, and everybody, everybody loves it and it works. And but still, but still put them back in end game for that like gravity of what actually happened during that movie. Because like I was like deeply depressed. So like, you know, so just to balance like all these, like all those things and all those uh you know different emotions and giving you something that you like that actually has impact and that you care about and that you're looking for is it is yeah, to piggyback off of uh Kaze and the Black McCoy, I loved how it was a mixture, the genre-wise, this is uh satire and the kind of like making fun of the time because it was I love how they showed how openly misogynist the 50s and 60s were in the commercials.
SPEAKER_03And they were like, Are you are you tired of your wife burning your toast?
SPEAKER_09I was like, what the fuck and the fat eye gave when he said that, like, what yeah, and I was I was just watching, but I'm like, that's for real how it was.
SPEAKER_03Like, are this is the toast of 5000? Like, are you really sick and tell, you know, what's the best accessory for you as the woman is like fixing her husband? Like, you know, this is what how women were seen, aside from the racial, you know, bit. This is just how the 50s and 60s were. And I just love how they put that in here. And so it was, it was satire, it was also showing, and then it was a growth, each episode was a growth of time as well, not just the fashion, but also the ideology of the country and what people are watching. And so I just kept thinking, and it wasn't until my niece was like, Manny, I think they're going, are they in the 70s now? And I'm like, oh shit. And we started to see the fashion, and they're very good, you know. And that's one thing. I love fashion. I'm I really pay attention to the different times. So I knew which one was the 50s and 60s. When it was 70s, it was bell bottoms and afro, as you already fucking knew. And then also you started seeing black people. That was what got me. You started seeing black people in the 70s, and I was like, wow, that's but that's that's very pertinent, you know.
SPEAKER_08That's when we were racially able to appear.
SPEAKER_03Exactly.
SPEAKER_08I was still shocked that Geraldine was at the pool party, to be completely honest.
SPEAKER_03I was quite the shock, I was shocked too, but I think it was more so because the only one too. She wasn't meant to be there, though, and that's how we ended up finding out she wasn't even meant to be there, right? That's how you know that she was that was really Captain Martin. Well, Spectrum, that's a spectrum, you know, and that was only because it was by accident. Yep, you would only, you know, so it like you said that that's a great thing to pick up on, too. It was really the 70s when they start adding a black, but you had a whole town of people, yeah. So it's like Wanda knew, all right, we in the 70s, and they could put that one black guy in there now.
SPEAKER_08She she she knew what she was doing, she had been watching all the shows.
SPEAKER_03It was great. Even when it got to the 90s, I was dying because even the intro to WandaVision was so 90s.
SPEAKER_09Oh my god, it was like Brady Bunch, right?
SPEAKER_03It was like Malcolm in the middle.
SPEAKER_09Oh, yeah, Malcolm was my favorite one. I was like, no, y'all didn't just Malcolm in the Middle and make a whole ass WandaVision, goddamn. I am sick. Yeah, and the 20s was Malcolm in the middle.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, Malcolm, yeah, Malcolm Middle was a nice because it was how the camera shift was. Like everything was running around in a circle, it was very fucking 90s, everything was all bobblehead running around in a circle. That was the 90s, and then in the 2000s, it was like Lizzie Maguire, which I thought was just fucking hilarious. And then it is kind of on Disney. I don't know if they did it on purpose, but Lizzie McGuire is on Disney Channel. So I don't know. I I love the little it was, I really thought it was meant for our generation because we were the ones that could really pick up on it, and then we were the generation that watched Nick at Night. So we saw Lewis, we saw, you know, the Jetsons, we saw, we saw our parents' generation, um, you know, because we didn't want to go to bed and we watched after Flintstones, it was Nick at Night, and they showed all the old school shit. I love Lucy and I uh I dream a genie. So we could grasp onto that concept and appreciate it as well with the new the newer generation. I don't know if they're gonna they're gonna want to click onto that too much.
SPEAKER_06They're not gonna go know what they're not gonna what's going on. That's just gonna be like, okay, what is it?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so I feel like our generation of millennials, we're more diverse in the sense that we we've seen a lot and we and we can understand it and we can hold on to the details more because we were exposed to it.
SPEAKER_09Um to to touch on that point a little bit more, it's like because as a generation, we we we've been transitional. We've like we watched the rise and fall of CD players, we watched the rise and fall of like the first like iPods where and we watched iPods become virtually inefficient.
SPEAKER_03Your phone is now your MP3. Who would have ever thought? That was like, you know, back when um they had the chocolate now in the the side ticket, that was revolutionary to put music on your phone. Um yeah, like you said, we went from AOL dial-up, Netscape, and you know, um I miss AOL internet.
SPEAKER_06Every disk is free internet.
SPEAKER_03No, no, because you could know because you had to take out the phone line if anybody had to use the damn phone, or you'd hear that because people were on the computer and the phone at the same time.
SPEAKER_06No, no, not dial up. The the the free internet was not dial up.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so like the black mcoy said, we we really saw the rise of technology from the from the very base, base, base level to where we are now in such a short amount of time to we grew up to see the very beginning of the one how dialogue and porn words. Oh my god. Um but um but um agreement from your desktop like the booze gonna do explain this to my mom. Like this is something happening to my email. Yeah. But yeah, I yeah, I I completely agree. So it was it was really a gem for our generation. It was it was mentioning a classic, and one that to me is a classic now because it actually held up to it's it it it merged. It's gonna age very well because it touched on everything. Uh it's a classic for me for sure. A lot of a lot of times Marvel just kind of goes over my head. Like I watched it like that, it was good. But this was like, this was great. Like, so I know I have a lot to say about it. I'm gonna stop, but I really did enjoy it for sure.
SPEAKER_09One thing you brought up that I noticed after like rewatching this, rewatching the show as well, was like, because I rewatched the entire show before the season finale, the series finale, excuse me. Um and the way in which the camera moved always was in alignment with what Wanda had going on. So when you were in an area that Wanda didn't have control over, the res like the the I guess it's not the resolution, it's like I guess the whatever the dimensions of the screen are, they it completely shifted. It completely changed. And when you got into what Wanda wanted, what was happening inside the hex and what Wanda wanted you to see, or what Wanda was controlling, the like the screen dimensions were completely different. Like it's like they took this idea that she's not only controlling reality, she's controlling the reality of the show that you're watching.
SPEAKER_03She was God, she actually was God in that particular yeah, and um, you know, she was omnipotent because, like uh uh Agnes, Agnes was saying, like, this bitch can control shit not even in the same radius, you know what I'm saying? Um and the source of yeah, she was she I didn't know she had omega-level powers like that. That's damn near omega level powers.
SPEAKER_07She's made so many alternate realities. But uh, but like but touching on the uh the camera thing that like uh that the that the doc that the Ms. Mc McCoy Lord was talking about like not only not only were they like incredibly mindful of the aspect ratio, they they they actually uh upgraded the technology of the cameras through the years. Like they only they only had like you know certain types of cameras like back in the 60s and 70s. They only used a certain way, they only they only looked at a certain direction, and that's all the shots that you got. But then like come the third episode when the technology upgraded, you know, like you know, they got you know, they had some camera, they had some like some higher shots, they could, they can pull it at a different angle, because they can they can, you know, they can afford to make the set from a whole whole different dimension because they used to they used to just look straight up in a box and that's all the fuck you got. Like it was it was so incredibly incredibly like mindful and well done. And and and I think and I think with a lot of the the kind of detractors like miss, like a lot of people were saying that like like hey, like I could have I could have got my story and I could have had my good pacing too. Like a lot of the I I think something that they kind of forget is you you all you could you can only pay for so much attention to so many things. And and and if this show was going at a regular, you know, pace, like whatever you think that would mean, because this is a brand new thing. I don't I don't know what your version would have been, but it probably would have sucked. But but anyway, um, but if you were paying attention to just regular things happening, like you know, an explosion every now and again, like you wouldn't uh you wouldn't have saw that clock in the background, you wouldn't have been paying attention to the incredibly incredible, like just facial acting that both that both of them did, like in the entire episodes, like every every single pause, like you know, like quiver of the lip, like, like just you know, like when you just staring at two niggas just going back and forth, like you know, they they gotta be on the act to just to keep your or at least they gotta be hilarious. So like um, yeah, I th I I think I think the yeah, I'm not gonna say it was it was perfect, but the the pacing was very uh instrumental to the way the show was constructed. And it and it and it and it and it and it and it built you up to this, like to this wonderful, even you know, even even if you knew when you know most of us knew what was gonna happen when when we like was running through Wanda's memory, but it was still like oh shit, oh shit, like you know, just just getting that confirmation, like you know, that that I told you so. And this just seeing it happen in real time. It just did everything for your space. Oh, and Agnes. Oh my god, Agnes.
SPEAKER_09Wow, Agnes was a treasure from the moment she was introduced into the show.
SPEAKER_08Hold up, nope, we ain't going into Agnes yet because that's a whole nother conversation. Shamplo bracelets.
SPEAKER_05Um yeah, so honestly, I want to be real with you. I originally had my um my uh what's the words I'm looking for?
SPEAKER_02Reservations.
SPEAKER_05Uh yeah, reservations. There you go. My original reservations when I watched the first two episodes was I don't know. I don't know. I remember me and Dom League were literally like we were about you know like blowing our brains out after the first two episodes. It was just like, and it wasn't it wasn't because of story or anything like that. It was more so because I'm not down for the I wasn't down for really the pacing or the art style that was originally used in um with the dick with the following of Dick Van Dyke for the first episode, and I forgot what the second episode was supposed to follow. Um, but it was just that I've never been a big fan of that time period.
SPEAKER_08It was like I love Lucy slash B Way.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, it was yeah, I love Lucy. The first one was definitely Dick Van Dyke. I'm gonna like the second one was like, yeah, like I love Lucy.
SPEAKER_01And the sad part is I love I love Lucy, but them first two episodes, like let me put it this way if Mark had not or got invested by the third episode, I would have never picked that show back up because of the first two episodes alone. That's just for me.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, like I I'm I like the story, and then my thing was in the back of my mind, I was like, it's Marvel. And that was like that was just that was what came. It's not like like even when I watched The Mandalorian, if the Mandalorian had not hit on the first two episodes, or the first episode of Mandalorian, I would not have watched All The Mandalorian just because Lucas Arts has failed me so much that it was like I can see them just shitting the brick and just me being like, yeah, it's about to get done and then going about my business. I wouldn't miss a whole good series. But I think, but it's like, but with Marvel, it's the thing of I know for the most part, I've never been disappointed by Marvel. Uh, even with the second Thor movie, as bad as everybody says they thought it was, I actually kind of enjoyed it. So it was like, so I can't, I I've never, so I I could never sit here say the way Marvel writes stories just doesn't appeal to me. I the Marvel Universe, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has done an amazing job. Whoever, whoever they have, the talent scout that goes out to get these writers, has done an amazing job. Like even with the way that this was, even though the pacing was incredibly slow, they always, like for at least in the third episode, the second episode and third episode or the end of the second episode, and then the whole of third episode on, they always gave you the idea that it was like just hold on. We're gonna we're gonna give you, we give you little details, like when y'all talked about the uh the whole situation involving the mom from that 70s show. I can't remember her name, but uh the I can't remember the actress's name either, but we know who she is. Yeah, but the mom of that 70s show saying, Stop it, stop it. Stop it, and she's just looking at her and saying, Stop it. It's like that there's a creepiness behind that. What is up with that? You know, it's like and and just little moments like that constantly going on. Or even the way that um even how vision interacts with everybody in the office, but he's like, What is it we do here? And it's just like they're like a bunch of numbers pretty much. And I thought that was the way they did that was incredible. Like the way they the way they gave you those little, like, those little tidbits of there is a story here, just stick with us, just stick with us. It's Marvel, just stick with us.
SPEAKER_09It was like it's like like we made it like they gave you those little something going on here. We're not gonna tell you exactly what it's like.
SPEAKER_05It's almost like Marvel would just say, look, we made y'all care about Hawkeye. Keep that shit. Like it's like we made y'all care about B-rated characters that you probably never would have given a fuck about. Like people still don't care about comic book uh Mrs. Marble or Captain Marvel. Yeah, they still don't. They don't, you know, but they they made you more interested with the movies that kind of they made you more interested with like that character for the most part. Like most people don't even know about swords. Now Spectrum is gonna be a big character. Saint G? Like, like this, I look forward to some of these B-making characters that they're about to bring up because it's like they do well with those stories. Yeah, you know, I just didn't work out too well, but you know, it is what it is. But like it just the way they did this, the way they did these stories was amazing. The way they carried it on from episode to episode. I loved how they kept moving from generation to generation, and then how they explained all that later, which I'm sure we'll get into. Um, but they always gave you the idea that this might be tied to her life in some way, shape, or form. Like the reason why this moved in in this episodic way might be tied to her life in some way, shape, or form. Or how they got that T, how they get, you know, they did it, they not only did it like you were the viewer, but they also did it in a way where, you know, the government was a viewer as well. So I like how they're watching TVs, and then the fact that they always had little tidbits here and there throughout the first couple episodes is showing you that. And then it's like, no, no, we're gonna explain it. Fourth, fifth episode in, we're gonna explain that. You know, it's like, or you know, stuff that was happening much earlier on. We're gonna explain all this in like about the last two episodes. I did get kind of scared though, good towards the end, because I was just like, part of me was fearing that they were just gonna set up for um stuff that they got coming in the future, which once again, I'm sure we'll get into towards the end of that conversation. But um it was it was nice to watch how they slowly but surely, though they didn't necessarily I don't think they necessarily Increase the pacing towards the end. I think they just filled in a lot of gaps with information that they knew they could close out by the end so that you weren't paying attention to the pacing by nearly as much. And it it kind of pulls you in the right direction. Like they didn't give you anything that they couldn't close. They didn't give you a single detail they couldn't close out and they couldn't answer. And that was what made the story, right, the writing of it, the storytelling of it beautiful. It was like they kept their pacing. They told you we're going to go at this pace. Yeah, we're going to put these little tidbits in here to keep you interested. But this is a pace that we're doing. Are you going to notice that we're doing it? Is more of a question. And that was that was done very, very well. I I honestly, I honestly really enjoy outside the first two episodes. I hate them shit. But I honestly really, and I will say this though, the one thing they did accomplish was they actually made me care about the stuff, like think about the stuff that was happening in the first two episodes. So it was like so I'll give them that. But how much I didn't like the first two episodes, they almost tricked me into going back and watching the show. Almost of that doing it.
SPEAKER_09Oh, because the moment was brought up two times.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, no, he didn't watch them alone. Straight up.
SPEAKER_02Straight up.
SPEAKER_09So and like I think like the moment was brought up twice, like that moment where they were sitting at the table and Mrs. Hart was like, stop it, stop it. Like it was, it was really creepy, and I loved it. And it was but the the best part about that was she was like, Vision, help him. Like she was it, it was like if we she was the reason he was choking in the first place, because he was asking her all these difficult questions that she nor vision could answer. And so then he just started choking. And so when vision goes over to stop whatever is key, whatever has him choking, because I mean it's like it was that was also weird because it's like vision help him is like giving a highlight or something like, no, this man is choking. And so he would when you when vision reaches into his throat, vision pulls out the chocolate strawberry, chocolate covered strawberry that she had earlier. So she's the one who put that there. She may not have realized that she did it, or she didn't realize, you know, that's what that was, but she it was like it was almost like we'll probably talk about it a little bit a little bit.
SPEAKER_05I got another thought, I got another thought concerning that, which I'm just gonna put point of it there now, is that with that choking thing, there was a line that they said later on in the in the show where they were like, you know, everything she feels, they feel. And because he was asking her so many hard questions, she choked. But to pass that feeling on to him, she put the straw chocolate strawberry. I do agree with the idea that she put the chocolate strawberry there, but the reason why she put it there because she was choking.
SPEAKER_09Because she was, ooh, that's that's good.
SPEAKER_03Very nice.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, yeah. And also like Mrs. Hart, like when they when you see before Wanda even got there, even after, like you never see that man again. You never see her husband again. And it's and it's it's I think it's implied that he was already dead. So the fact that he was at the dinner table was the was Wanda doing basically what she did with Vision, but with Mr. Hart. And so part of her saying stop it was like she was watching her husband have having to die all over again. So in that moment, you it's like you see her, you kind of like hear the wincing in her voice when she's saying stop it. And you know, part of that is just how her voice is, but also kind of just contributes to like her telling her to stop what's going on. Because like when you see her, when remember when they did that little flashback when Wanda got to Westview, you just saw her sitting at a table by herself. And I think on the board when they were like mapping out the characters who they saw in the show, like I think that he was like deceased. They put deceased on his profile or whatever, because he wasn't, he was already dead, and you never ever see him again, not even because he wasn't recurring character, but just because he didn't exist after that. I agree with you.
SPEAKER_03I do agree to pick it back off on what you were saying. She said you at the very end, the last episode, she's like, you know, let us go, you could just let us die as well. And she was the only person that said that. So it even makes more sense that she probably already was feeling heartache that if that is the true theory, her husband was already dead. And she's like, You could have just let me die instead of just keep me here in this anguish. Even when she said stop it, it was like a psychotic break. It wasn't like, you know, yeah, it was like stop it, stop it. But you could see it, it was like you could tell somebody if they're smiling by their eyes, you could tell somebody was in pain by her eyes. Like she was smiling the entire time, but she her her whole eyes, like the acting was superb because you could just tell it wasn't like a a happy stop it. It was like I'm fucking have a having a psychotic break. You know, she just kept like a short circuit. She just kept saying it over and over and over again. And I I more and more you're saying it, and you know, the heart on the even the heart on the calendar, it could be more of like a memorable bit, uh like a like a memorial, uh memorial to uh to Mr. Hart, so to speak, you know, because they're like, why is that heart there? And they're kind of like thinking, is it our anniversary? What is it? Do we have a lot of things?
SPEAKER_02Oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So they put the heart on the calendar and they're like, oh, it's the heart. So, but why, why that? You see what I'm saying? Like, and that could be that could very well mean that she did have a spouse and the and the spouse did die. So that's actually really, really good.
SPEAKER_09Um and then to find out later on the reason the heart was on the calendar because that was supposed to be the day that they moved into the new house together.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09That was that oh, that was the shit that turned me because she was looking at the layout for the house when she was standing there and when all the shit happened, and you just saw a heart there. I'm like, nigga.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I didn't see that. Oh wow, very good.
SPEAKER_09So, yeah, when they showed when they flashed back to see like how Wanda did all of this, she was standing in the plot for the house because they had laid the foundations or whatever, and she was looking at like the layout for the house or like the the plans, and there was a heart drawn on it, and I think it said it had like Wanda Envision or Forever or some shit like that written in it. And I was like, wait a minute, what if that's probably a heart that was on the calendar because that was the day they were supposed to move in, but that was also the day all of the shit started in the first place.
SPEAKER_05It was saying a place for us to grow old together. And I uh yeah, I do think that was the day they were supposed to move in the game.
SPEAKER_08All right, Joe Tsg.
SPEAKER_00So I was actually surprised I enjoyed the show as much as um I thought I would. Uh just because I didn't really if you would ask me two years ago Wanda Vision would be such would be a show, or just a show centered around the Scarlet Witch and Vision, I would have said you're mine. I would have never thought I would have enjoyed it as much. It was an homage to American television, um fashion. Uh it had so many Easter eggs, it was the episode where uh Wanda was in her comic costume and Vision was in his that was hilarious to me. Um her recasting Quicksilver was hilarious. Yes. Uh just like I don't know who the hell Agnes was because I've never paid attention to Scarlet in the comics, but she made me want to go back and watch and figure out who she was. Um, and that's something that's great when any show can make you go, who the hell is this? Let me look her up. Um and I think as someone who I kind of have like a love-hate relationship with some of the Marvel movies, like I don't enjoy all of them. Some of them are absolute shore to watch, like after the first time. Well, Captain America Thor's a f there's a couple for me. Um I think for me, uh uh Guardians of the Galaxy and the first one specifically, and um I should know both of those, and uh Doctor Strange were the first two movies where I I I was just floored by just the cinematography, the action, the fact, the music, um, and WandaVision brought all of that to my television. Which is something that not many shows can really do, especially recent years. Um I the first two episodes I found it really hard to get through. Um, not necessarily because of the the way they uh not just not especially because of the pacing or the black and white. That was great, that was fine. Um I love I love Lucy. I love um Bewitched, but I just I just I don't know I don't know what it was, but I just I found it very hard to just get into it. And then episode three is where I was like, oh okay, something's going on. Alright. I do have a habit where if you don't grab me within like the first five seconds of a show, I will start skipping through it. Um and I did that with the first two episodes when episode three came out, watched it, enjoyed it. I was like, okay, let me go back to the first two episodes to see, you know, if they actually watched the song. Um and uh so they really enjoyed them, but overall I really didn't enjoy the show.
SPEAKER_08Okay, okay. So um I I think you know, across the board, you know, there is a love for the series uh of WandaVision, although, you know, some of our panelists did feel like the first two episodes were a little um slow on the uptake. Um, so let's you know move on to the next subject, which I think everybody has a um a unified appreciation for, and that is the genius behind Miss Ag Agatha Harkness. Um so panelists as a whole, and you know, we don't have to go in any specific order. What do you how do you feel about the usage, the creation, the the overall concept of how they made Agnes Agnes, Agatha, sorry, Agnes, a key role in the movie in the show, as of the movie, the series.
SPEAKER_09Ask that question again?
SPEAKER_08Sure.
SPEAKER_09Yeah.
SPEAKER_08How do you feel about Agnes?
SPEAKER_09I love fucking Agnes. So Agnes was uh because of the personality that she brought and them picking actress that they did. Um what's what's her name?
SPEAKER_10Keep going.
SPEAKER_09Um she's been I like I loved her in like bad moms and stuff like that. Like I loved, I knew that I enjoyed her, and I knew whenever I saw her that she's gonna do something that I enjoy I would enjoy because she's really funny, she's hilarious. Um, but to see her in this role in particular was like a play on her strength as like a comical character or a comical actress, and also see her take on a more serious role because like she didn't just take Agatha Harkness as a character and you know give her more personality, but she was able to be dynamic in that as well, especially where we see the more insidious parts of Agatha and why she's even there in the first place. And I think that was the best thing for me because like she like Agnes was a very tongue-in-cheek character, like she was she was very much the the comic relief and stayed the comic relief the entire time. And even when she transitioned, it's like, oh no, I'm Agatha Harkness. Like, first of all, the song introducing her, phenomenal. We can all agree on that. Secondly, when she actually started having dialogue as Agatha Harkness instead of as Agnes, she like you never you it was like you saw the darker side of a comedian um rather than just a complete and total tonal shift in the character. Like she still had that tongue-in-cheek kind of way of talking to um Wanda when they were like when they were going through her memories or when they were down in like her little magical cellar area or whatever. Like she she never dropped the ball on like the snark that came with her character. And I could tell from the first episode when she was introduced that I was gonna love her regardless. Because I I personally love characters that have that amount of energy and have that amount of like dynamic, like they're able to move dynamically throughout the show and not really miss a beat. And I think that was the best part of like seeing the transitions. She had always fit some kind of like character mold throughout um throughout the show. And as I'm thinking more about it now, like the character that Agnes played in each of the, like each of the generational iterations of WandaVision as we move through like television history. So basically moving through television history uh or sitcom history as we were watching the show, she always played the character that had more going on than we actually anticipated. Like, because you like you ever notice when we watch like sitcoms or when you watch, you know, um, even movies that have like that really comical character, there's always something else going on with them that we never really become privy to. And it's like she played that role so perfectly. Like she was the embodiment of that that nosy neighbor. Yeah, like that nosy neighbor, that funny character, that person that's always over at your house. Like even with Steve Ruckle, it was like he was always at the Winslow's house, but it was partly because he had a very he had a very tumultuous home life. Like he was he felt more comfortable being over there, and so it's like she played, she took on that role, and it was weird to see it was it's kind of weird now to like notice that retroactively and not pick up on it during the show, and it just shows how much they paid attention to what they were doing as they were making the show, and it was it like it was just phenomenal. Like, I I can't not look back on the show and find a different little nugget that just made the made complete sense in hindsight. Like it was every step of the way was perfectly planned.
SPEAKER_08I completely I I completely enjoyed the way that they decided to use Agnes um in the show, especially when you know, as the episodes were going on and we were coming up with our own theories, our own concepts, our own, oh, what could potentially be happening. And you know, some people decided to voice theirs, other people, you know, said it amongst their friends, but didn't decide to think, oh, I'm smarter than a Disney writer. Um uh and when, you know, we were like, oh, it's gotta be Agatha Harkness, and we were like, oh, for sure, that's who she is. But my point uh where they completely decided to derail me was when Vision was kind of uh, you know, was on Halloween and he was looking at all the outskirts of Westview, and he came across uh uh Agatha, sorry, Agnes driving uh up the street, and she was just like sitting there and she's like, What if I took a wrong turn? He's like, You took a wrong turn in the town you grew up in, and she was just like, Well, you know, it happens. And then he like he thinks he's you know awakening her from uh Wanda's trance, and you know, she plays the role perfectly. But then of course, when we see the Agatha all along uh video or montage, and she shows she was you know faking it the entire time, it completely floored me because I when he oh when he woke her up, I was like, Oh, I'm wrong, I'm completely wrong. It's not Agatha or Wanda's stronger than Agatha, she's controlling her the entire time. I can't believe it. So to have it, to have me second guess myself because I was I was certain. And I second guessed myself, and then not only did I second guess myself, I didn't change it to a secondary theory to accommodate for me being wrong. And to have it be that secure, to have it be that convincing, they I felt like they used they utilized her as an actress so well, so absolutely well. And um, I saw an interview that she did on I forgot I think the late late show, maybe I'm probably wrong. Um, but she you know, she pretty much explained how when she was originally given, you know, because you know, Disney doesn't fuck Disney and Marvel don't fuck with um their shit being revealed. When they like brought her in to know about the her part, she they well, they didn't blind vote her per se, but she she came across the building, they took her through a couple of hallways, through this another room, through this secondary back room. So she didn't know, she was completely disoriented, didn't know where she was. And that's when she came across the boardroom or the story boardroom where they had the entire story listed out on all the walls. And they broke down who Agnes and Agatha were and who she was playing, and how she was like, Oh, I get to be this, I get to be a witch, I get to be, and not just like any witch, but this to be Agatha. And she was, she she said she took it upon herself to use one of her previous characters to start the process, but then combine what she already knew about sitcom nosy neighbors to really sell who Agnes and Agatha combined, come combined between the two of them really are. So I I thought, you know, they picked as um, I believe either I think you, I forget who said it, uh I think it was Kaze who said about uh um, or was it Joe, who said about um them the fact that they the writers, the the writers that they chose, and then the the casting director, the fact that the casting director also casted her to play and to carry Agnes and Agatha, I think was one of the best choices they could have possibly ever made. Um, and the fact that we know for a fact that we're gonna see her in the future because you know she's gonna forever play the nosy neighbor, I think is gonna be wonderful. And I can't wait to see how they circle back to her in a future film or a future series.
SPEAKER_09Also, where are they gonna put her? Because she don't live there for real, for real.
SPEAKER_08What what part does it matter? Does you do you think Wanda can't put her in somewhere?
SPEAKER_09I'm not talking about Wanda, I'm talking about everybody else who lives there.
SPEAKER_07What they gonna do? What they gonna do? Kick her out? She was uh about to say, or Ralph. She was she was living with Ralph. I'm sorry, she took over Ralph's house. That was her husband. So I'm just so I'm just saying she just might just have a conversation with uh with homeboy. Assuming he he just don't he's don't just roll roll the fuck out. Yep.
SPEAKER_03Um I there's something that I noticed. Um, I wanted to give like a huge shout out to all the actors and actresses as well um when it comes to uh acting two different methods. So you know, going back to like the Broadway um technicolor time period, um, I always was curious on why the accents were so odd to me as a kid. I'm like, why do they speak a certain way? You know, that's not how we how we talk like outside. And what I looked up, I was like, why do people in Broadway or why do people like in I Live Lucy, they're speaking English, but their accent is so different. And I always wanted to look up what that accent was, and it's called a transatlantic accent. That's what you hear with that I Live Lucy, you know, like uh even but um like you know, hey Bella, how you doing? It's like there's a certain type of diet like dialect that they use around that time period. And it's not really easy to do either. So for everybody to be now to to switch up how they speak, and even in the 80s, they talked differently. They were all speaking English, but the dialect changed. Like that is the acting, you know. I'm going to acting, you know, I'm going back to when I was in theater. It's a lot to to change up how you talk in the nuances of how you're speaking, the slang, but even just how how your voices for each decade, because each decade it changes. In the 50s and 60s, it was transatlantic. And then uh transatlantic is like a combination of like American English and it's a very small bit of like British English. It's that's how you kind of hear like that combination of both. And so for them to to to change up how they talk with the accent from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and even 90s, even how we talked in the 90s, we don't think about it's different from how we talk now. It's even how like you how you hear like the dialect, the the speaking, so the tone. So it's so much research that everybody had to do to make this shit so authentic. And you know, it's uh for me, it's it's everything is about the details for me. That's why I love this show so much. And then you know, you have Agnes, the actress who played Agnes, but it's everybody. I think about the guy when uh Vision was talking to his coworker, and um he, I think he he like did his little, you try to like try to see what's going on, and he was he switched his accent. He's like, oh my god, you know, please, um she's it's all her. She's she's she's she's you know keeping me here. And then he did it again and he just changed back his accent, like quick. And I'm like, that is brilliant. And you know, I just I just thought the little the little details to me was was was it for me. Um, and all of all of the acting, I don't know if um if anybody's watched a night's tale. That's actually vision, the guy in Knight's Tale. I'm like, do y'all see this acting skill in the Knight's Tale? He was like the the jackass. Yeah, and that just tells you the range that this guy had. Because I kept looking at his face and like, why is it?
SPEAKER_09Like British actors have a lot more range than American actors in my parents, just generally speaking. It's not that American actors don't uh there aren't American actors who don't have, but British, like it seemed it's it seemed to me that British like training when it comes to acting has stormed eons beyond what. American acting has been, but I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03I know you're right. I mean, I looked at Idris Elba. Um Idris Elba for the longest time I thought he was American. No one could tell me any different. When I saw him in Pacific Rim, I'm like, what is his fake accent? Like British. I was like, what is his fake ass accent? Hey American. He probably, you know, you're probably from New York. You know what I'm saying? Stop, stop fucking around. Like, no, nigga, bro.
SPEAKER_05Looks like Daniel Kalua's like that too.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_05I'm sorry. Daniel Kalu from Get Out. He's like that. Yeah. He's British. Really? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I did not know.
SPEAKER_05Like Genny the Cumberbatch, also.
SPEAKER_09Um Agent, um, not Agent Colson. Um, he played, he was it, he was he was the white agent in Black Panther. I keep forgetting his name.
SPEAKER_05Oh, um, I know you're talking about oh yeah, um, yeah, Bilbo. Uh Anthony Circus.
SPEAKER_09No, not Anthony Circus.
SPEAKER_07Uh Bilbo.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, that's yeah, the act the actor played Bilbo, who was also like the white agent and Black Panther who got his ass baby. He worked with Shield. He's also British. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Wow. You see, I mean, they they can hide like like the Black Book boy said, their range is insane. Like, I really, I really, and then how they can can really get into a character and make you believe it. I really thought that Idris Elba was American. Like, no one could tell me any different. I really thought his accent was fake as shit. I'm like, what the fuck is this fake ass accent?
SPEAKER_07Not to stuck on Idris too long, but when he was on the wire, he had to convince his his casting director that he was that he was fucking from Baltimore. Like he like they lied. And and they was like, well, yeah, if they if they if they if they uh if you own a if they find out beforehand or they find out you probably you know you probably gonna get fired. But you know, but if you go you go out there and convince them, then you know you know it don't matter, don't matter what you do later. But um, yeah, it's not a game.
SPEAKER_09That I did not know.
SPEAKER_03But now I gotta I've never seen The Wire before, and um and now I have to go and and watch it just to see his acting, you know. So that's that's that's that's really interesting and annoying, you know, again that that that puts in place the type of acting um you know that you that is really needed for cinema, um, you know, whether it's in the theater or whether it's just watching things on TV. If you want to have an impact on the viewers, the level of dedication um that's needed to have this discussion now about WandaVision, it really comes down to a lot of it the actors. You can spend millions of dollars on cinematography and and costume design and and production, but it all goes boils down to the acting. It ain't shit if you don't have great actors, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because coming to America is the perfect example of that. Oh no, really, we're not doing that today.
SPEAKER_08We're not doing that today. Wrong ones, you ain't doing it today. Does anybody else have any feelings on Agatha and Agnes?
SPEAKER_07So go ahead. Also, the actress's name is uh Catherine Hahn. Yes, Catherine Hahn. I was about to say, uh and I and I've been you know and I've been watching her like throughout the years, and she's always been stuck in like these B movies. She's always been like that side character, she's been the funny, uh just you know, ain't shit best friend. And I've always thought like, like, yo, you can you are better than this. Like I can see it, like you are you are better than half of the people you're acting next to. So like, so like so the just the the fact is to take take somebody who was like more or less just you know cast aside half the time and see her for what she is and put her in this perfect place in this fabric egg of a of a pro production and universe and just and just like not only like let her show you what she can do, but but elevate everything you're doing in the process. It was just great.
SPEAKER_08That's that because most of the deals are between five to ten projects, yeah.
SPEAKER_09She's already got one, so let's went out of their way in that last episode to say she's not going anywhere, she's still here specifically.
SPEAKER_08Okay, no key article.
SPEAKER_09I think that's one of the beautiful parts, like they didn't make her like a one offshoot a villain like they did and like they have with so many other people in the Marvel Cramatic universe, and you know, solidifying her continuity is now was very explicit one, and two, it was like they it's like they they they continue to recognize she was a large player in the comics, and you know, she's going to be a large player in you know the MCU. And given how many like prominent magic users there are in the MCU right now, she's top three as far as we're aware. Ancient ones there, we don't know where Mordo is right now, so that's still that's still up in the air, and uh, we're all still waiting for him to make a turnaround and come back. Um, and you know, besides Rwanda Doctor Strange, she's the only, you know, she's the only other main one that we know is really powerful and is like out and about, or well, no, not out and about. Right, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_07I'll say we know exactly what you're doing.
SPEAKER_03I think it's gonna be a problem. Um, in the last episode, they said she said, You're you're gonna need me. You know, she's like, You don't know what you've done. Now I'm like, oh bitch, what you do? What you do, bitch? Like, you don't know what the fuck you did, you're gonna need me. And she's like, you know, well, I know where to find you. And I'm like, ah, so it's kind of like, ooh, there's gonna be some shit that's gonna happen. And she's smart as fuck. For her for Agatha to come in, even she orchestrated Ralph. She orchestrated that. So for her to have little pieces, she knew what she's doing, and she did one fucking slip up showing that bitch how to make a rune. Bitch, you shouldn't have done that. You shouldn't have done that. That was and for me, I thought that was glorious. It gave me like this elvish, you know, like elfin, you know, uh type of um, you know, boom, a rune. I'm like, oh shit, nigga, we we do a magic thing. I'm like, but you fuck one that you win. And so I just hear that. Oh yeah, now you know when the finale, oh my god, the cinematography. I thought I was about to fall on my chair, the rune, and I kept seeing, you know, Wanda missing the shots. I'm like, this this is calculated. And you see, bitch, it's a rune, nigga. You didn't think I knew it's a bitch.
SPEAKER_07Agatha didn't know the Scarlet Wheels was a was a shown and protagonist.
SPEAKER_08But thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for listening to this episode.
SPEAKER_07And I was like, yeah, I'm gonna memorize that.
SPEAKER_09We're gonna we're gonna we're gonna say that's a product of her ability to uh tap into the night she's traumatized and all that. Wouldn't let his trainees out the compound without least, you know, look at them shouldn't remember it. I know Nick Fury would be upset if she couldn't do that at the very least.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, like that was I would say that's probably Agatha's one reg regret was was telling her that. And at the very end, she says, Good girl. And I'm like, she's gonna fuck you up what she gets out of this damn, she's gonna really fuck you up, Wanda, because she's very strong, and she taught you something that you didn't even know. So now she's gonna use what she learned, and she's gonna really it's Agatha's a problem, like just seeing it, like she's learning though, she's a problem, but that's the thing, like Wanda's learning as well.
SPEAKER_08Like, that's the key.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, like she stole the book, you're right.
SPEAKER_08That's the key.
SPEAKER_07Of course.
SPEAKER_09So I think the most the most impressive feat for Agatha for me was Piatro, fake Pietro. Because not only not only did she use some random nigga's body to make Wanda think that that was her brother, but she was able to imbue it with his powers.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I love her as an actor in all of the American horror stories.
SPEAKER_09Oh, yeah, Evan Peters is phenomenal.
SPEAKER_03Uh Evan Peters is his name, I think. Yeah, Evan Peters. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09But like just the fact that Agatha was able to do that was already a testament to how powerful she was. And even and it's like um Suchi and I, Sushi Kazi and I were talking about it last night. Well, not like no, no, Friday night. Friday night we were watching the episode, and it was like, after the episode, it was like the only barrier that Wanda really has as far as the show has been concerned, is knowledge. She has the overwhelming power, but she doesn't have any control and she doesn't have any knowledge and how to use her power. So, like the thing about even though she's did she took one book, Doctor Strange has read all of those books, except probably that because it was gone. Yeah, because that that what that book she took, the book that um Agatha had was one of the books from Carmartaj, and it was one of the ones missing. It wasn't the one that um Caesilius took because what he took was a page out of a book, he didn't take a whole book, and so there was already a book missing. But Doc, if you remember during Doctor Strange, he was popping in and out of that library, and the his intelligence and his you know practical practical knowledge of studying allowed him and to read all of those books. So Doctor Strange is a Sorcerer Supreme, probably because he has a vast knowledge of magic, and you know, having ascended to Sorcerer Supreme in the meantime, I'm sure he's continued to know and read as much as he can to be able to have the power that he does. Now, Wanda only has one book, so she may she has the potential at the moment, I think, to surpass the Sorcerer Supreme and be she, but just as a character, she's more powerful, like you know, scale-wise. But Doctor Strange is still more brilliant than she is.
SPEAKER_08Well, thank you for going on to our next question, which is about the multiverse of madness. I was trying to pace ourselves.
SPEAKER_04I was trying to say something about your boy Quicksilver. Like, I was super battle on the Doctor Strange. Wait, I was super excited to see him show up. Um, one because uh one, I just love like Easter eggs and things like that. So the fact the fact that they brought him in, um, and I don't think anybody mentioned this yet, but he was definitely an X-Men.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04So it was just like, oh shit, like I see John Digga. Like I don't know why that shit excited me so much, but I was just like because it was a modfuck, it was completely insane.
SPEAKER_08Like and when I was so excited when Darcy said, Oh my gosh, she recast a pH.
SPEAKER_04I was like, and I was I was literally on here, I was like, This, and like every every time they did some shit that was just like magnificent for me, I was just like over here, like mind blown. Like, and and that was one of those moments when he showed up at that door. I said, get the fuck out of here, man. Like mind blown. I was like, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09So and the best part was that they fucked with the fans in doing so. Who they fuck with the fans was talking shit.
SPEAKER_08They was like, Oh, we know what's going on. Nope.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I'm sorry. No, you did. That was great.
SPEAKER_07It was a house the whole time talking all the shit about Ralph. All of the whole show, all of it. Go ahead.
SPEAKER_05Whenever Peter showed up, did anybody else wonder if you were gonna see the rest of the X-Men?
SPEAKER_08I did.
SPEAKER_05I didn't find it.
SPEAKER_03I said nigga, say something.
SPEAKER_09When she's going to the book and you hear her voice, show the fuck up. That's what we all like say it, say it, nigga.
SPEAKER_10Go ahead, talk.
SPEAKER_06All right, so when she's going to the book learning everything, you can hear her children's voices. I think she's gonna create mutants so her kids can come into continuity. Ooh, so then my question is Hereby bringing in all the X-Men into the into the universe.
SPEAKER_05I think I'll ultimately do House of M then.
SPEAKER_06That's what I feel like. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_05I think that might be like a reverse house of M.
SPEAKER_09So, you know, version of it. What like it sounds like that would be a reverse house of M.
SPEAKER_08Like that would be not necessarily why not because as Talon was saying, if if she uses the book in the other, because if she's gonna bring her kids in, she could bring the other mutants in, she brings the other mutants in, and then something happens to her kids because of the other mutants, then she can create House of M. So I understand what you mean by reverse, but this could lead her into that story later on down the line.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but that's kind of that's kind of contrived. You you you you doing something to the niggas you invited in. She did think for the niggas she invited in to Westview.
SPEAKER_08No, no, not the townspeople. I'm talking about the military people, but go ahead. She didn't invite the video.
SPEAKER_05Fair enough. Um multiverse of madness, is gonna you're gonna have the kids. I think you're gonna do the the Mephisto shards as the kids, right? And then they're gonna bring that in, and then you're gonna have house of M somewhere along the line. I think if they do it the reverse House of M way, there's gonna be like the Terra G miss shit.
SPEAKER_08You want that damn mist so bad. So bad.
SPEAKER_05That was the only time Cyclops wasn't pussy. That's all you want. That's all you want.
SPEAKER_07I could you dumb don't care about that, nigga. Wait, no, no, no. Terra Cyclops was a G.
SPEAKER_05That was right before the challenging list.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but right before it was like a year and a half. Give that in humans are like a ghetto X-Men anyway. Soon soon the Cyclops killed Xavier.
SPEAKER_06Wait, what'd you say, Tom? No, I'm saying the inhumans are like a ghetto X-Men anyway. Like, if you think about it.
SPEAKER_05It looked like the X video.
SPEAKER_07Like it's just like that's that's why they that's why they pushed in humans because they needed X-Men replacement because Fox wasn't letting go of them. They weren't. They still, I mean, didn't they did they get them yet?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, they got them. Yeah, no, they did.
SPEAKER_07They they got it, but but that's why they had the in-humans kill the X-Men because they didn't want to give uh Fox any uh free advertisement.
SPEAKER_03Sorry, Fox.
SPEAKER_08Sorry, if y'all hear this shit we talk, we we're talking on the a certain side of history where we want certain things to happen. We ain't saying nothing bad about Fox.
SPEAKER_09I respect that. Yes, I want you to know. I want you to know if ever a moment comes up where Fox wants to give us money and then they find this episode. I want you to know that they you can't point that finger at me.
SPEAKER_08I mean, I wouldn't have I mean you said several things about Disney and other people, so there are plenty of things that I can point your finger at. So yes, you're right. But uh you can blame you can blame all the fox shit on me. I'll take it. Oh, you'll take it. Okay, I got it. Kaze will take the fox blame.
SPEAKER_03Yep, no, no one should come up here. Susie can cut this shit out. So you know say you know what I'm saying, don't even do that to us, just go ahead and cut this plot out.
SPEAKER_08No problem.
SPEAKER_03All right, so I do have a one last question though. I know that there's a movie coming out with that's called The Immortals. I heard the Immortals is kind of based on the prelude.
SPEAKER_07Are you thinking the Eternals?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the Eternals, thank you, Eternals. You isn't Eternals a prelude to X-Men or to mutants in general?
SPEAKER_09I mean, it's technically a pre a prelude to like the existence. Uh existence, but like you know, the a lot of the characters that we know because like the Vinity, but didn't the Infinity Stones come from the Eternals or like a war that they were fighting or something?
SPEAKER_07Uh no, the the the the stone the stones uh were there when the universe is made, but no, the yeah, the celestials, the celestials made the that's it.
SPEAKER_09The celestials made the eternals, yeah.
SPEAKER_07And then the eternals were pretty much where the they are where the X Gene Yeah, they're how mutants started.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, but like Thanos was the Thanos was the creator. Well, they didn't say in the MCU so far where Thanos came from.
SPEAKER_07We don't know yet. That's no, that was his home, his home. We was on his own thing, it's Titan. He's a Titan.
SPEAKER_01Oh, Thanos is a Titan?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah, that's literally what the plan is called. So they're tight, Titans from Titan. Yeah, and they they just happened to be big as shit. Yep. Wasn't he like one of the smallest of the Titans? He was a he he was actually a mutant. There it is.
SPEAKER_09Funny comic-wise, he was like he was he was born on Titan, but comic-wise, he was supposed to be like a uh uh a celestial and some or an he was something he was like two things that shouldn't have made it, but maybe right and then like they made something and it came out ugly as shit, and everybody hated him.
SPEAKER_03Like he was actually like a Nephilim basically. Yeah, Nephilim. So Nephilim is basically an angel's uh that uh procreated with humans. Um, because Nephilim, they were they were annoyed, excuse me, the uh guardian, guardian angels, they were annoyed to seeing the humans on earth, you know, procreating. They thought the people were beautiful, and they wanted to go down and get some get some too and have some kids, and their kids end up looking really fucked up and they turned out to be like cyclops. So cyclops are considered like Nephilim in a way, like really like horrible creatures that ended up going against man and eating man, and then they were like, fuck no, we have to kill all these because you you that's why they casted out the guardians to hell, but then they cast them out because they went against what God told them to. But anyway, that's that's different.
SPEAKER_08Really back in. All right. So we went, we talked about a couple things, but the last thing I want to make sure we touch on is what about the multiverse of madness? It is where they are saying, well, not even that, what about what's the next step? We talked about us, uh, myself, the Black McFoy, and Kaze talked about a couple of um, well, I sent out the schedule, uh, the the Marvels, Marvel Disney schedule of what's coming up next, movies, series. We all know that uh uh The Winter Soldier and uh Falcon is coming up next. And then there's gonna be a bunch of other series and movies that are going to, of course, be post after one another. So, and we all know that WandaVision leads us into the multiverse of madness. So, what do we feel? How do we feel? I mean, the Black McCoy kind of definitely touched on it moments ago, but what do we think is next? How are they going to are they going to continue kind of uh following their own path, or are they gonna add more of the comic book storyline elements into it, or is it gonna be completely new? Don't even guess what's gonna be happening, you have no no chance figuring out what's going to occur.
SPEAKER_05I think they're gonna do a middle, I think they're gonna do a middle, bro. Yeah, that's why I say I'd like to give them credit to the writers because the writers have always done this, they keep aspects of the comic book, like even with Agatha Harkness, like Agatha Hart, some of Agatha Harkness's character is in this, but they change minor things just to make it there. They do they've done it with every almost every character they've thrown in here, even when they do the water shit. It was like like the wander shit. It was still, yeah, this is as much like the comic book as we feel like making we might take pieces from other comic books, but for the most part, this is just our original ideas. I think with the method of madness, they're gonna end up doing, I mean, the multiverse of madness are gonna end up doing something similar. It's just like uh, like you know, I'm not gonna say with the nickname I heard for the uh for the other the Witcher Soldier and uh other junk at Falcon show. Like Bucky and Urban America. It was like I heard shit like Bucky and Urban America, Urban Cap uh Captain Urban America. Yeah, I heard Captain Urban America. Captain Urban America. That's some of the stuff I've heard. So like it's like, yeah, but uh yeah, it's a fucked up days, but like it's like while I limit the number of white friends I have. You know what's funny? That was blacks that I heard that from. Oh god, yeah, it was like what makes that worse, but nah, it was uh like I said, I I look forward to how they're doing like multiverse, um, multiverse of madness. I also look forward to how they're doing uh uh how they're doing um that is uh how they're doing Bucky and Falcon as well. Because I think what they're going like with they're gonna do two really different styles. One for the show, I think they're gonna do really well with Adventure, but with Method of Madness, Multiverse of Madness, I hear they're doing more of a horror flip. So they're not.
SPEAKER_09With that, what happened with the news.
SPEAKER_05I think Fox messed that up is a normal. I think Fox messed that up so bad. We'll have to do that messed that up so bad. And it's like we're gonna take that whole idea and try it ourselves and we're gonna flip the shit out of it.
SPEAKER_07They're gonna try it eventually anyway.
SPEAKER_05They was gonna try it eventually. I think like Fox kind of forced a hand. They're like, you know what, this is a good idea. Somebody does it, right? This is the greatest thing in college in life. Alright, cool, let's do this.
SPEAKER_08Uh uh Scarlet Nigga, your namesake. You were about to say something? No. Not at all. Nothing about what comes next. Nothing to say. Okay. Uh Miss Kittles. Actually. Oh, you son of a gun.
SPEAKER_00I I don't necessarily have much to say about what the next steps are towards the next movies or how they're planning on setting this up. Because I honestly don't care. Just let it be good. I don't, I don't, I kind of don't want to dive too much into the comics and try to theorize about what possibly could be this, that, and the fourth.
SPEAKER_02Because it's that doesn't really matter.
SPEAKER_00I just want to see, I will say with Doctor Strange, they've definitely made that particular series um not necessarily a I guess a test a test to try different cinematic things that they don't usually do with some of the other movies per se.
SPEAKER_09Okay.
SPEAKER_00Um but otherwise, yeah, I'm just excited to see what comes next. Not necessarily for Black Widow. Don't really care for that.
SPEAKER_08Oh god.
SPEAKER_00I'm already kind of like, eh, okay. Why could that? Because she she does she did. But I guess the history of or the precursor to who she was prior to the movies.
SPEAKER_08Um I mean, they can reveal something that you didn't know. Maybe that she's actually coming back. Maybe she really didn't die. Maybe there's a clone. Who knows?
SPEAKER_00Oh, if it was a clone, I wouldn't be surprised. I think I'm more excited to see how the secret uh secret invasion, how about the secret war or something like that's not right? Uh secret invasion is gonna like. I mean, it's obvious they're already here, so yeah, I agree. Yeah, exactly. Um, and then I mean they already kind of hinted that hinted to that with uh Captain Marvel. Um, and I'm interested to see where White Vision's going to.
SPEAKER_08I yeah, I want to see where he's having back.
SPEAKER_00I'm curious.
SPEAKER_01I didn't see where Monica goes. Like, are they doing a build-up series off of Monica alone?
SPEAKER_08Because I would say I would love a spectrum series.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what I was interested in.
SPEAKER_08Oh, yeah. Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna have a blurred spectrum, spectrum watch party.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. I was like, give me that. Oh, you going off in the space?
SPEAKER_08Yes, girl.
SPEAKER_01Sorry.
SPEAKER_08Miss Kimballs, you about to say something?
SPEAKER_04Um I'm kind of like Joe. Like I um, so when it comes to when it comes to these movie adaptations from comic book series or or or anything adaptation, I'm not I'm never I'm never the type that's gonna be like, oh my god, I didn't follow the comic to the T. Oh my god, I didn't follow the manga, like what the fuck to the T. Um, because at that point, to me, it's just like it's just it's the same, it's boring, it's it's predictable. Um I I I I like being entertained.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04So if I already know what the fuck is gonna happen, then I um I mean, what's the purpose of me wasting two to three hours or or any time watching this? So um I'm just excited to see where where everything is gonna go. Um I I listen to everybody's theories and things like that, and I'm like, like, like, like so um it's just uh it's just overall, I'm just excited to see what what way they take it and um and and to be entertained because they they um they definitely uh surpass my expectations for audivision.
SPEAKER_07Uh I mean honestly the the the the universe is is their oyster, so to speak. Like they can they can go in so many directions. Um uh actually actually having uh having read uh some actual enjoyable Captain America books, I'm actually looking forward to uh Falcon and Winter Soldier. Like I actually like really, really like like uh Baron Baron Zemo and just like like just the fact that like having like having having like Nazi villains is so like cliche, but like but when the villains actually start doing Nazi shit, like like like nitty gritty, like like oh what happened like oh whoa, oh this like oh we did this like you know like even uh you know even even that whole story that whole storyline with Cap Captain America was uh uh was was a sleeper agent, like that shit was that that shit was amazing. That shit was a tour de force, like that like that shit that shit was like on the watching post. Like it was niggas was not ready. It was like what the fuck. Like Captain America said what um but no, yeah. I'm looking, uh you know, I'm I'm really hoping that uh yeah, I didn't get it from the from the previews, but I'm hoping I'm hoping Black Widow is like I hope they really go deep into like some super spy shit. Like like I think uh I think I think Widow's come uh has come a long way, but I think Widow in the MCU was at her best in that in that first in that first scene when she was tied up in that chair. Yes, and and she reverse for reverse interior interrogated the nigga who was interrogating her, yeah, and got the information out, and then and then turned around. Um no, I think that was in the first Avengers. Yeah, that was the first that was the first Avengers, yeah. Um okay, uh yeah, because uh because we didn't even know Hulk was even gonna be, because you know, we we switched Hulk. Yes, that's yeah twice, three times.
SPEAKER_08I just remember somebody calling her when she was it was three times, but I I rem I remember somebody calling her when she was being interrogated and her having to hurry up to go find that was Avengers.
SPEAKER_07They they interrupted ah her doing her job because her own Spider-Man movie, honestly. All three of them hope for the universe or something, but uh, but no, yeah, she is yeah, a lot of people, a lot of people, uh a lot of people sleep on her. She's uh matter of fact, I've never I've never seen uh Black Widow lose to like uh to a not super and I've and I've seen her shit on a lot of supers. Like it, like it's like she's the best spy in the world. Like this is like super but she's like she's uh she's the personification of a super spy. And and and I and I hope MCU like really you know like touches touches into that. Like I think after all the lasers and shit started started going, they they kind of like kind of lost sight of the strengths of the of the more like normal normal caros, yeah. Like uh like you know, I feel like they they should have sent her off to gather information, fuck with somebody's head a few times, you know, just do you know, do some spot shit. You know, yeah, yeah, yeah. She can she can get down there and you use LA technology and and beat a whole bunch of ass, but you know, let her let her do what she's good at. But um yeah, I I have no idea what to expect from uh multiverse of Madness. I didn't I didn't I didn't even know I didn't I didn't even know to expect uh anything uh horror uh horror-wise, which would be really interesting to have uh a horror movie with someone as powerful as Doctor Strange in it. Like you know, you know, like you usually horror is is very based based around the the lack of agency that the that the characters have. And I can it's very hard to to think of uh like I don't know, maybe you're gonna get sick, maybe maybe somebody gonna seal his hands like like a Rochamorrow guy got they gonna have to do something to that to do something to him. Um but um but you know wherever direction they go, I'm sure, I'm sure it's gonna be uh fantastic. I'm hoping also looking hoping uh we working up to uh not only uh working towards a spectrum, but working up work working towards uh uh a new Avengers with uh with a blue Marvel. And uh uh Yes, yes, and uh was it America Chavez? Yes, mm-hmm. Yeah, I need I need all that. Just give me my brown Avengers.
SPEAKER_00I I still need a Ghost Rider re uh redo. You have to wait for them.
SPEAKER_08The whole movie or just the just the character?
SPEAKER_00Either a series, the way they've done WandaVision, I can see it do it being a series. They're already doing they're already doing Moon Knight, which I didn't even see that coming ever, and that's Black and Quote.
SPEAKER_09So one of the things that I'm actually thinking about is well one two things. One, since um Dom brought it up, like where are they going with Monica after this? We know she's going up. She's going to she's going to she's going to the part of Shield that her mother needs her to be a part of at this point. Um, so that I'm interested to see what movie or what series that's gonna look like later on.
SPEAKER_08That's what we were saying about Spectrum.
SPEAKER_09If and when she's gonna show up. I mean, I'm that I'm more so concerned when that's gonna happen. Not I know it is going to happen, but when is it going to happen? Because I know that Marvel has a history, especially with like with Bruce and with like Black Panther, specifically with those two, of like dropping them in little places before they get their own kind of run. But Bruce never got his own run in the current MCU for you know a number of legal reasons outside of him. So like they did the same thing with the childhood, they introduced him at one point, and then you know, he gets his own. Um so I'm interested to see how they make that transition because at least with Black Panther, it's continuity lined up with uh events of Civil War. And so that made sense. So I'm wondering how they're gonna line up the continuity with her, with you know, Monica going up. Second, the only thing I'm um one of the things I'm concerned, we're not concerned about, one of the things I'm thinking about is what's going to happen in Cap in Falcon and Winter Soldier, because I'd want to know if the continuity of that show is going to be while all of this is happening. Are they gonna reference WandaVision during Captain during um Falcon and Winter Soldier? Like, are they gonna have an episode where they try to get them to come and help or get them to come and do something? Or is there going to be an episode where they're investigating sword because of for some reason or another, because of Hayward, um, but not being able to do anything about it? I'm interested in how Falcon and Winter Soldier is gonna fit into all of this because this WandaVision is supposed to lean into multiverse of Madden. Like it's supposed to be more of a segue as well as a standalone thing. So like it's it's gearing up for something. It is, you know, it's uh it's like it's a prologue. Um yeah, it's a prologue. Um, but I'm wondering what Falcon and Winter Soldier is going to be in the larger scheme of the MCU since we're at this point. Um, because Multiverse of Madness, I'm I'm confident in what's gonna happen in Multiverse of Madness. I know it's gonna be connected to WandaVision, but are they going to leave Falcon and Winter Soldier out of that? They should because they're not they're yeah, they should because they're not magic-oriented characters, but I'm also going to I'm also wondering like what purpose do they have right now outside of just having their own show and when their show is gonna take place. Um, because it seems like, at least from my perspective, this phase of the NCU is going to largely be magically, magically bound. I mean, we talked about this the other the other night. Like, I think it's going, like they're setting up this phase of the NCU to be very much grounded in magic after trying to scientify science scientific make my make magic more scientific in the previous phase of the NCU, and that didn't work out. And so moving after having grounded the and I also think that's probably that was probably like a fan-based kind of decision. Um, just appease not throwing them into something too like horrendously mystical off the jump and you know, completely distancing uh a larger um audience that they could have actually gotten that they that that they actually got a hold of with the first phase of the MCU. So now they have the liberty to move on and do some of the more you know nuanced parts, especially or the more um intense parts that involve magic. So I'm wondering what their place is going to be because I'm not I guess it's just like I can I can see where a lot of these other things are going. And I'm also wondering like where what how are we supposed to look at Monica's powers? Because her powers technically, if we're if we're talking about how she got her powers, it looks like they came from like a weird fusion of magic and the mindstone. If we're incorporating the mindstone into the powers that Wanda used to create the hex in the first place. And Monica like pushing through that barrier was something extremely unusual. And knowing primarily that Wanda is a witch and that that was magical, I'm one, I guess it's just a me thing of like the the at her origin, you know, cool. But that I don't know if that means that she's magical or if she's just now like imbued with some some sort of power on and what that looks like and why it looks the way that it does. Because Wanda's like Wanda's made sense. It's like, okay, well, she was already a witch, but her powers were boosted by the mind stone because otherwise, you know, she wouldn't have had them, like they wouldn't have manifested in the first place. Because for all she knows, for as far as her knowledge goes, she lived her entire life just as a regular person. But being in, but she always had a proclivity for magic, but the mind stone is what actually amplified that potential that was already there and made it possible for her to do the things that she was doing. Now I'm wondering what that looks like for Monica Rambeau, because she didn't come in contact with uh with an infinity stone. Um, and you know, is it was contact with Wanda's magic what make what brought well we know that contact with Wanda's magic is what brought her powers about, but does that what is I'm wondering what that ultimately means. Does that mean Monica was also a witch in some way, shape, or form, that that exposure now allows her to have certain abilities?
SPEAKER_08And that's it based based off of what I at least know about Monica's powers or Spectrum's powers, they're based off of like different types, sorry, different types of energy rays and waves. And from what Darcy was talking about with um Wanda's shield, I don't know what to call it actually. Um barrier, thank you. Uh what uh well, Wanda's barrier, there were different types of uh uh radio waves, um, gamma wave radiation waves, all different types of types, all different types of rays within the barrier. So when Monica was pushing through it, as you can so as you saw, she started to kind of go through these different types of changes and manipulations to her body and her uh what did they say, her um her pretty much her her her genes were were altering.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, the structure of her genes were altering um because yeah, they were saying that especially well, previous even before she went through the barrier. Uh what's her name, Darcy? What's her name?
SPEAKER_08Darcy, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Darcy telling her that she can't be keep going in and out of here, it was already altering her her DNA structure.
SPEAKER_08So right, because the first time she ended up in there, I mean, and we can assume it has something to do with heredity or what have you, or again, nobody was really coming close to the barrier, even the police officers were like, We ain't messing with it, or the ones that were there, maybe Wanda had already convinced them that it didn't exist. So when uh maybe Monica was the first person to actually get close enough to touch it when she disappeared, then Wu called FBI, and then that's when everybody else came in, they created that perimeter around the barrier. So she had already gone through the barrier and it had already started to change her DNA, her genes at the micro uh microscopic level. So then, as as uh uh Miss Skittles was saying, Darcy had told her that you can't just be going in and out of the barrier. We need to find a way to protect you if you're gonna try and go back in there. But when she did, that's when her and it could have also been whatever the suit she was wearing was made out of, it could have been a plethora of things, but most of her powers are based off of energy and different types of uh rays and waves of uh different types, and energy, waves, and rays. So, uh, like I said, gamma radiation, solar radiation, cosmic radiation, all of that stuff is a part of her ability. So it could be less of magic and more of the different types of elements that Wanda produced inside of her barrier, are now attached to Monica's um uh uh uh DNA or her genes.
SPEAKER_09Okay, I thought it was kind of kind of real fantastic four style type stuff.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I thought the spectrum was pure energy from what I think. Is that her problem? Is that she's literally just energy? Like her makeup is pure and other energy.
SPEAKER_07I don't know if she is right now, but she might get there. Yeah, she's the one with the electromagnetic spectrum. There we go. Thank you, which is where she gets her name. Yeah.
SPEAKER_08See, so so when I was struggling to say all of that before, I was letting you do your dude.
SPEAKER_07No, no no no no, it's a molecular thing.
SPEAKER_08And you let me sit there and move it as damage eventually. Oh, you crafty bitch. Anyway, so um, yeah, so there there are many things to anticipate. There are uh even more things to just uh just allow to happen. I was actually gonna comment on the uh Black Widow thing from before, and the only thing I really was gonna say was I do agree. I hope that they let her be a spy, like actually go into espionage uh as it pertains to the movie. Um, but I'm sure there are different things that like my whole thing about it is just like in in the sh in WandaVision, once they gave or they showed Agnes's or Agatha's uh uh backstory, like they showed her when she was younger and they showed what she came across, I was like, oh, she's gonna be here for a little bit of time. Because all of the heroes who they've come across in the past, uh heroes, villains who they've come across in the past in previous movies, they don't give them such a detailed backstory. Um, and even though it was still a series and it wasn't like they showed her as a child and then a teenager and then an adult, they still gave her some type of understanding of where her powers are rooted from. And then they explain where she's going to be. Same thing with uh uh uh a Black Widow. I feel like by giving her this backstory, they're going to eventually do something with her later. Who knows what it may be? Um, I was just hoping that the reason why they kept pushing it back, other than you know, Corona and COVID, was because um, because originally I felt like they were creating Black Widow because they were trying to have something to juxtapose uh Wonder Woman. And I was like, please don't do that. Because after what happened with Wonder Woman, we just don't do that. Just just make your own movie. We're not trying to compare it, make it different. Like, yeah. But then the last point I wanted to make sure I said was a conversation I had with uh um the Black McCoy and Kaze about the fact that the original schedule for all of these series and movies were in a different order, not even because of COVID, they initially were in a different order order. I believe Kaze, you said that um uh uh Falcon and Winter Soldier was supposed to be first before WandaVision. Yep, yep, yep. Uh I just need you to confirm that you're just gonna leave me out there again, like you did last time. I said, yeah. Yeah, it was glad enough, damn it. So there isn't there was an initial order. Um, and it the reason why I brought that up is going back to what the black McCoy said about how you know wanting to know how the Falcon and the Winter Soldier it may potentially coincide with the multiverse of madness. Well, if it can be reordered in any specific way, I'm sure there was a decision made by Disney and Marvel saying, well, this has no uh what's the word? Um not effect, but this has no um, I'll just use effects, has no effect on whatever movement. Movie or whatever show is about to come next. Maybe it's so separate, or since the timeline is so different. I agree. I hope some type of uh call to what happened in WandaVision is somehow referenced in Captain Falcon and the Winter Soldier. But Captain Falcon, sorry, Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Um, but I don't think it's necessary. Okay.
SPEAKER_05I think they're gonna end up doing like uh remember how when they were building up to Avengers and at the end of every movie they had Tony Stark talking to somebody, talking about Yeah, Tony Stark and uh Captain. I think they're gonna do that for Secret World as well. Like I think I think like this is gonna be more of a build into Secret War than what Wanda was, and I think they're gonna actually hearken to that in um Black Widow as well.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_05And that's kind of things if you think about these golds already showed up in the earlier time because they showed up in um Captain Marvel. Yep. So this so they can show up in Black Widow and still have some importance to now, and then you'll see them, you already saw them at the end of WandaVision, you'll see them more so probably towards the end of either at the end or towards the end of uh Falcon and uh Falcon and Bucky. And then like, and then you'll like and then they'll keep building into it until Secret Wars pops up and all the shit pops up. So I think they're gonna follow that same, it's it I think they're gonna follow that same mentality again. Yeah, don't it's like now the scroll is gonna instead of Tony Stark, you got the scroll just showing up talking about I got an initiative for you. Right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, don't the only thing about the uh the scrolls uh they of course they they can and pro and and are doing it, but I got the only the only like wrench wrench in there is they've the they they've entered they've introduced introduced the scrolls pretty much as good guys. Like the only scrolls we've seen are are just refugees. So so they so they'll have they'll still have to introduce uh introduce a way to yeah to pretty much bring in evil scrolls because the whole the whole oh shit of of of Secret Wars was oh shit these niggas was always here right and and and they've been doing fucked up shit the entire time, yeah but but you but we're that but we we're not getting that same oomph and and I don't see Marvel just doing some ho hum, oh yeah, there's evil ones too.
SPEAKER_08Well, I mean I I mean I don't want to say that or just do that, but it does seem like you know, by introducing some of them some places, eventually they can. But what were we about to say, Joe?
SPEAKER_00Well, I was gonna say too, with what we already see with a lot of their well villains is that they've kind of humanized them in some way, right? Like with with um uh purple nigga, what's his name? Chat bananos, yes, bananos I should have said grimace, but like we've seen in the past, they kind of humanize them, so I kind of feel like that's what they'll probably do with the scrolls somewhat in order to kind of make sense of the reason why they do whatever the fuck they choose to do. Oh, that way they didn't end up doing bad shit, and that might be a reason, a possible understandable reason as to why they did it in the first place. Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_09No, I I completely agree with you because the way they introduced the scrolls, like they didn't just invade Earth and just been there the whole time. Like they were refugees because their own race and their own planet have been ravaged by the creed. Right. Victims victims of colonization. So I can see them, I can see them using, I can see them using the scrolls. If they are going to take like a secret wars kind of approach, I can see them using like the scrolls having experienced something on Earth or you know, something like that, or to you know, start this you know scroll revolution in some way. But it like I agree with Joe, like it would have to be something extremely humanizing, especially since the way they're introduced was one of you know very being like very tattered and torn and being victims and for being you know victims of another power structure or another race. And so Earth was a safe haven for them, and it always has been, as far as we know, and they've lived amongst us and they've always been you know noble and you know uh had loyalty to like people like Nick Fury and SHIELD, um, and have been on a very need-to-know basis. And so it it would be interesting to see what they do if they do decide to go in a secret wars type of direction.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and and honestly, one of the biggest like lessons from WandaVision, and not just WandaVision, they've always done it, but Mar Marvel, they're they are like masters of like of the red herring. And and honestly, and honestly, that's that's really like what the scrolls are to me. Like they threw in scrolls and they threw in scrolls so so niggas can just start, oh shit, secret war. Right. And I th and I think that's they you know they're they're gonna be like, hey, look at you know, look at look at look at my left hand flourish. Um so so I think it's coming, but I think it's I think it's gonna come in uh in a way like you know, just like Tiffany said, we know we know how that runs, we know how that works out, we know how that runs. And we know you we know they're gonna introduce it in a way that's interesting and surprising, which means we don't we don't really know what's what how it's gonna pop off.
SPEAKER_09So I'm definitely also like those they like it's like once after Captain Marvel is like, so you know the scrolls have literally been around the entire time since the 90s. So like that means that Thor didn't know about them, Captain America didn't know about them, Black Widow might have known about them, uh Tony definitely didn't know about them. So like it's and it's almost like it makes you wonder like how many scrolls have been involved in so many of the things that have happened with it with the Avengers, or like be how how much how involved were they in actuality up until this point? Or have they just been you know secret agents in the way that they have been?
SPEAKER_08Because otherwise, I'm pretty sure they've been integral. The way that Nick Fury works, I I feel like they've they've been like like uh Joe said, like Kazi said, they've been there the entire time, they've been integral with most of the plans that have been going on. Um, I don't want to talk about the technology and stuff like that, but like I feel like they've been there. Yeah, right. I mean, I feel like they've literally been there the entire time, and there's a far a vast more amount, and I think that might even again be a potential catalyst for the eagle scrolls to come to Earth and say, uh, maybe looking for a specific person or a specific scroll, and that's how it starts. It's possible. But not to go, I mean, we we're way far off of WandaVision at this point. Um, well, not that far, but we were far anyway. So thank you for listening uh to our WandaVision episode. Uh, we are excited, of course, to see what the Marvel um cinematic universe has in store for us coming soon.
