Welcome back to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast. We are here another week. We took a little bit of a break. People had things to do, things to celebrate, time to take off, places to move, situations that arose. Uh, but uh, we are back and we are live and well, I mean, we're not in color because you're not looking at us, but we're live and surround sound. There it is. So whether you listen to us in your car, on your phone, on your laptop, your desktop while you're at work or sitting in the side of the house, I hope you enjoy this episode and everything we said before, and what we're going to say into the future. This episode specifically is about something that is near and dear to our panelists' hearts. It's an anime by the name of Attack on Titan. This is an anime that has been going on for a very long time. And the only reason why it's been going on for a very long time is because it came out and then it gave us a hiatus that we did not anticipate. I think we were waiting about what five years for attack on Titan to come back the first time. I was sitting there, I was like, okay, so the season's over, you're gonna come back, right? You ain't gonna give us an update next season, right? Oh next year? No, no, I I turned a whole nother decade before Attack on Titan came out again. So so, but now we are here, and we thought we were gonna get the final season from start to completion. And guess what? They gave us another hiatus uh until winter 2022.
SPEAKER_01Let's get duped. We got duped, right?
SPEAKER_04But you know what?
SPEAKER_08But you know what? They're separating the real from the fake fans, they're separating the people who are down for the cause and the people who just watch and to watch because we saw all these new uh Tack on Titan stands come out of nowhere this past year. So now we're gonna see who who the real fans by the end of winter 2022. So, but before we really go into it, because I've already started going into it, let me introduce our panelists for today, starting with myself, Suchino Shogun. I have the doctor. What's good, I have shampoo bracelets, I have Kaze Shinryu, yo yo, I have the black mcoy, bonjour mon ami, I have me Skittles, what up, what up? I have Aurora, and I have representing the flames individual today, the Mr. Talon Flame. What they do. So a lot of things have happened on this particular first half of the final season after the long hiatus from the previous years of Attack on Titan. Um, a lot of things have been completely and utterly changed from the perspective of what we left off on. I think when we left the previous season, we uh uh were watching Aaron and the rest of the uh scout party uh standing at the edge of the ocean, which they'd never seen before. They were excited and ready to see what's about to happen next. And our first episode coming into this final season, we didn't recognize anybody until we saw Zeke. And then we were like, what the fuck is about to happen? We got flying, falling, not fall, not flying, falling Titans. Um, we had uh a war zone, we had uh uh uh Gabby's anxious ass. Um, we had going on at the start of this final first half of the season. So I want to get into it a little bit, ask our panelists. So, what what were your anticipations? What what what did you think was going to happen? Because they really never told us we were gonna get the end of Attack on Titan. And when they did, we were like, oh shit, it's about to happen. And we were like, This is gonna be summed up, this is gonna, and they told us it's a final season. So it's like, how are they gonna close this? That's literally saying that's the end of the second right, right?
SPEAKER_06They're gonna close this season.
SPEAKER_08So, how are they gonna do it? So, what uh panelists, what what what were your thoughts prior into getting into the uh last season, uh the final season? What what did you think was actually going to happen? And uh, we can start with uh Miss Skittles.
SPEAKER_05So, what did I think first of all? First of all, I I thought it was gonna be some um honestly, I I thought it was gonna be some promised neverland shit. Oh wow, like like I thought they was about to wrap this shit up so terribly smooth. So so terrible when I say terribly smooth, it was like, okay, what like we was gonna get uh you know this little I don't know, this little quick story, and and then it was gonna be over, and I was gonna be mad as fuck that they close it out the way they did. So um even though that was what I was expecting, and that's not that's not at all what I got. I I'm so happy. I am so happy that's not what I got. But uh yeah, I definitely was expecting them to be on some, oh well, you know, we just gonna wrap this up smooth kumbaya type shit. And um uh even though we know that's not how it went in uh in the manga, so I'm glad they didn't do it that way. But um, but yeah, when I say I was I was not fully ready for all of the the shit. Actually, I take that back. The the uh the intro song definitely had me on on some oh this shit about to be lit. Because you know, we had we had oh no, we didn't we didn't do that episode, but yeah, so so you know how the intro and the outro, you know, of an anime kind of tell you where the shit is going.
SPEAKER_00Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_05And um we that anytime y'all hear that that intro, y'all know some shit is about to go down forever going down on that intro. So yeah, um uh I mean I'm trying to leave it there in and you know, because I have so much to say.
SPEAKER_08We'll we'll get into it. We'll get into it.
SPEAKER_01Yes, we'll get into it.
SPEAKER_08Okay, speaking of individuals who have uh uh uh uh adapted and absorbed the intro and outro to the uh final season of Attack on Titan. Let's uh let's uh let's uh go ahead and swing over to the Black McCoy, uh, which I believe that track is uh very near and dear to your heart.
SPEAKER_11What were first of all, first of all, it's not that one, not that one specifically, but they did mention it in the season, and I had a whole connection when they did. And I knew, I knew you were talking about me as soon as you started talking, because like this. But I and all honesty, I had no expectations as for what this season was going to bring. Like I legitimately was just lying in wait, ready for whatever they were gonna put in front of me. Um, like Miss Skittles, I was so happy that they didn't go this promised never land route because I watched that final episode of that second season, and we were like, excuse me I would have liked to see that. Excuse me? Like that's a different that's a different podcast altogether. But deep into that. Um you're like, bitch, wait. So they're all this anyway, but but like I'm I'm uh I'm not bothered that they decide to go on hiatus again because we like Attack on Titan is notorious for going on like hiatus in the middle of a season, and we don't get the second half of the season until like the next year or the next two years. Because I remember when um Kaze and I were watching it, we were catching him up, and so we could start the newest, the most recent season, and we jumped. I was like, wait, you didn't see this or this or this? He's like, No, so we had to go back and find the second half of like I think it was the third season, because there was so much shit that they just divided up, and uh so that gave fuller context. But um, am I I I I I I'm not I'm I so I guess I'm not upset. I'm a little like because I I want to see the end, I'm ready. I my body is ready to see what happens next, especially because the way the show has utilized cliffhangers so artistically and so well that you know they they keep us wanting more in the best way possible.
SPEAKER_08So I remember in a previous podcast episode, um, one of our guest panelists came on here and she exclaimed uh certain things that were going on during the season of Attack on Titan. And we said that when she said what she said, she was definitely going to be on the episode when we talked about this anime, and I have to know leading into this final season of Attack on Titan, what what was going through your mind? Because you had shit to say, Miss Aurora.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you tried it.
SPEAKER_09Oh, you tried it. Um well, I was not I'm coming from a perspective of I've never read the manga. Never read the manga. I just happened to catch it on Netflix one day and watch it. And this was, I guess, like in his earlier like what's that 2014, 2015-ish? Um, and I, in my mind, as someone who doesn't know the manga, I thought I was like, okay, they're about to go on this adventure across the water, new territory, new land. In my mind, new Titans. I was like, That is about to be real. How do they do because you you can't use the the the gear shift situations in water? It's not like we got a bunch of shit sticking out of the water for them to really work. So I'm like, all right, this is about to be interesting. How they gonna do this? Have they have they been across the water before? What's what's this given? Clearly, I was the fuck wrong. I was completely off because I really had no, I was so lost, so this season started. I was like, what the fuck is happening? Because it I thought for a second, if and I don't know if anybody else felt like this. Like, at first, I thought we were being thrown into the future, but like two seconds, I was like, so okay, okay, who are these kids? Okay, we're still in the same realm, but this isn't the same town. Okay, maybe are these like somebody's kids? Like, what's happening? I really thought we were in the future, but then when you started bringing in the familiar characters, it was just like, wait, so we're in the future, but how fucking far are we?
SPEAKER_00What the fuck is right now?
SPEAKER_09Like, I was so confused. Um I'm just I don't, and I still haven't read the manga. I don't plan to until probably like after the fact now at this point because I'm invested in just like being surprised. I really want to know that journey, that journey I spoke of. I'm curious because I'm like clearly on that journey, Airflip switches, so I need to know what the fuck happened happened in the meantime, between time, because the these cute little backstories they give him for everybody but him is making me mad.
SPEAKER_01Oh, you know about these people.
unknownReally?
SPEAKER_08Pull it back. We're gonna get into it. We're gonna get into it, we're gonna get into it. Okay, okay. Um, I have to be honest, when I my expectations were very similar. I was like, okay, we're gonna people were about to be on a ship, they about to find a uh aquamarine titan, like somebody gonna be swimming in the ocean. Uh I was like, they they, you know, because they they didn't have vehicles that could like transport themselves across bodies of water. So going into the background behind the Titans, I wanted it, but I thought we had already gotten it when they talked about the royal family. So I didn't know where they were going when they got to the ocean. Honestly, they could have stopped it right there. And I would have been okay, like, oh, okay, they stopped it at the ocean. You know, Aaron uh Armin said, Oh, all I want to do is see the ocean. I was like, Bet. But I was like, that look in Aaron's eyes when they got to the ocean, I was like, Oh, this ain't over. This ain't over. So when the final season started and they did this whole little war motif on the side of the hill, I was like, wait a minute, did is it is this Attack on Titan, or is this by the makers of Attack on Titan? Is this a whole nother war anime? Because I was like, what's going on? It wasn't until I saw the cart titan, or no, no, what did I see? It was either the cart titan or the fly falling titans, whichever came first. I was like, oh, okay, so we're still we're still there. I just don't know where we're going. So yeah, I I I was delightfully surprised that they decided to do a final season five or seven or ten years later. Um, but I didn't I didn't know where they were gonna go with it. And uh, like I said, we'll talk about exactly what my ex what my how happy I am with the product so far. Who I want to ask though is um shampoo bracelets because they uh one half of them demanded this episode, the other half, you know, shammy B goes with the flow. So, what was your pre-final season expectations of Attack on Titan? The final season.
SPEAKER_05Right. I demanded this season, and Mark and I just realized that there was a whole I think the first season came out in 2013, yeah, and then the second season came out in 2017. There was a whole there's two separate children baking during those periods, which is what damn, all right.
SPEAKER_10Both of us have two kids.
SPEAKER_02That puts a perspective on things. Y'all real things.
SPEAKER_10We need something, but easy way to say we need something to do between season one and season.
SPEAKER_11I hate you. And now y'all got two things to do during quarantine.
SPEAKER_05Um, so for this season, um Sammy B reads the manga. So I kind of already knew a little bit of where we were heading. Now, seeing it on the screen, of course, is totally different, and it still kind of fucked me up with that time loop because I haven't yeah, he's told me bits and pieces, but certain parts he didn't. So the time skip kind of fucked me up. Like they did that time skip one time before, and I was like, wait, hold on, how we how we get here? Last time you ended, we was in a basement. What happened? You know, some time skips.
SPEAKER_08And it's like these time skips are like real time. I'm like, y'all can't go from 2017 to 2020 and just think like the story is supposed to go along with it, really.
SPEAKER_05So Aaron's just like I'm lost because I'm like, how did we get here? We were looking at Ocean. So um, overall, I think this season was good. I thought they were gonna stop at another ending because of um the intro. Yeah, but um, you know, we'll get to that later.
SPEAKER_00Later.
SPEAKER_05Um, but I am mad I gotta wait all the way till winter. I thought we could at least slide a fall in here just a little bit. Fall 2020, one you know, after 2020 was so crushing. Yeah, but um I I'm I look forward to see how people react to the ending of Attack on Titan. Um yeah, I'm I'm gonna leave it there.
SPEAKER_10Okay. Um in terms of my expectations, I I really like I said like she's like you know, Shadow said, I read the manga. It's kind of hard for it's not it, it's it you would think it's hard for me to be shocked by certain things in the anime, but really there's it's more of a I have a lot of anticipation for certain things because Nappa as and the title title as a whole, is uh the story as a whole, the anime as a whole, has done incredibly well with following the manga and just uh giving a little bit more to certain things that might not have been expressed as well. Or like, or they or it's like either it was expressed as well, or it's like certain action scenes weren't drawn out as well. It's like so they do they do incredibly well with the pacing of comparison. So to a woman who says she would like to read the manga afterwards, you'll be shocked at how much you won't be shocked by the ad by the manga. Like because I like that, because going back and forth, because of how well they follow the manga, I honestly say if you watch the anime, just leave it to that. Unless they're unless they drastically change some things, just leave it to that. Because everything you've seen in the anime has been done. Like, I don't think there's really too much the manga has done better. That's how well this anime has been done. I don't, and that's also the reason why everybody was like, oh, this can compete with Brotherhood. Because Brotherhood was, you know, a Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood was the same way. The first version of Four Metal Alchemist, you know, they they didn't they didn't do the they didn't do the anime as close to the manga as they did with Brotherhood. And Brotherhood followed the manga almost exactly, and it was like, oh, this is the greatest anime ever made. It was like just because what they did was they took the things that was good about Brotherhood, about the actual manga, and then spread it out a little bit better and put more action to it, put more scenes to that action, or more budget to that action. Right. I think jujitsu Kyson is probably gonna end up following the same thing. But um but yeah, like I said, in terms of when I was watching it, I knew what to what to look for, and I knew what I was anticipating. My expectation was more so where would they cut this season off because I didn't think they were going to do this season straight up and go all the way through to the end. I just thought, okay, they're gonna cut it a good spot. I did not expect them to say winner, but I'm like winner of 2022. But like I but I did expect I did expect them to cut it halfway through. Because they'll do that, yeah, exactly. But I did expect them to cut it halfway through. I I just expected them to cut it another part.
SPEAKER_05And also, I'm glad that they didn't do a movie because I remember that was a rumor at one point because nobody knew about the part two, and everybody kept saying, Oh, they're probably gonna turn it into a movie. I'm glad they didn't do that because I think that would have pissed off a lot of attack on Titan fans, because you know it takes us forever to get the movies.
SPEAKER_08That's true. I wouldn't mind a movie of the flashback, though. Huh? I wouldn't mind a movie of the flashback, like the time skip.
SPEAKER_11Oh no, I wouldn't mind the movie of the origins of the LD. I would love that movie. I'm surprised they haven't done that. But I think there's something about it. I would love that movie. That would be a great yeah.
SPEAKER_10They never really talked about the manga either. And I think they have a whole separate, like one-shot uh that I did read that goes over the LD and uh how the L started. But well, not how the LD started, one of the side stories of the LDS. The reason why I don't think they'll do that is because of how much like I said, the anime follows the manga incredibly well. Y'all will literally get all those answers in part two of this.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_10Every answer, y'all like like some they're gonna, I think people are gonna be ultimately happy with the way this goes.
SPEAKER_08Okay, well, now we got something to anticipate. Speaking of anticipation, one half of the flames who's going to be representing them in this discussion about attack on Titan, Mr. Silent Flame. What was your anticipation? What was your thought process leading into uh the final season of Attack on Titan?
SPEAKER_02Man, I was I thought the possibilities were endless. I thought we were gonna keep seeing new and different titans by continent, by nation. Ooh, but I guess I didn't know it was it was just that many small and that many players, and the enemy was that close that they were in their damn backyard the whole time. Yep, that was a beautiful twist. And to go back even further, it's like generational hatred. That's not so it's just a beautiful thing how much hate and then we see this Hitler-esque society where they're like third-class citizens, they live in their own section of the city and they can't really go anywhere else. And no matter how hard they work, they still ain't shit. So it was amazing to see they live in the exact. So it's like it was amazing to see all that happen. The the technological advancements that happened in this previous season for them, the anti-personnel gear came just in time. Like, if if they didn't have it, they would have been in trouble. Oh, because yeah, those swords would not go well against guns. That's a bad setup. So I was really surprised where where it was going. I'm even more surprised where the hell it stopped, but wait before before you jump into it.
SPEAKER_08We're we're gonna get there, we're gonna get there. So, uh, to wrap up our pre thoughts of the season, um, Kaze, what was your anticipation? What did you think leading into, especially after you know, uh uh the Black McCoy was talking about the fact that you thought you were caught up, but you knew you weren't. caught up and then when you thought you were caught up you ended up not being caught up so you started and you had to go back again so after all of that what was what was your thought process going into really watching the final season I was uh I was definitely like a maze uh heading into the the ending episodes of uh season three um I I guess like in a macro sense I was uh I was really looking forward to to the last season I guess um recontextualizing the threat that Marley posed because because they did a lot like they did so much in the end season in the at the at the end of season three like like we they they they stole the uh the colossal titan the uh what did I say they they they almost they almost got the armored titan fucking the obese titan got uh put on blend um like you know like if the tar if the target titan ain't you know go in there and save them like that shit the show would end it right there down there so I was so I was really uh looking forward to them um you know I was just like you know because far as I know Molly's other than these titans Molly's just a bunch of niggas so I was like y'all better have the good the God Titan and the and and the Avatar Titan and call a pressing titans you better have real titans like um yeah so that's I think I think I think that was my uh my my biggest thought seeing seeing how the story was gonna was gonna escalate okay and you you brought up a good point you specifically talked about uh uh anticipations of what could possibly be across the water uh who is Marley what are they actually uh trying to do with the titans um and we as watching the episodes we started to learn that you know there were a standard set of titans although we kind of got inclinations of that uh dealing uh looking at the past of the royal family learning about the specific ones that Marley controlled gave us some type of insight into what the not necessarily the war was about but what Marley was trying to do and my thought process is you know if you have a set amount of titans why would you send them over to the island of the devils as you called them now the confusion I had was how did they send these titans over there and if I'm not wrong it was the Colossal the armored and the female titan and it was one more right um was it the jaw titan too yeah they did send the jaw titan but he died how how could you send those four titans over there and not have any type of reconnaissance done to know that these people are slowly building this like granted no no they had this army that they were building to protect themselves against the random titans that you've been sending towards the city this entire time so it's like why not be prepared in some way shape or form so the question I posed to all of the panelists no specific order is once you saw and this is fast forwarding a little bit into the season once you saw why or how Annie uh Berthold Reiner and you know what's his name's brother because we never remember what's his name it just ends up showing up on the screen um but as they saw that they dropped them off on the island uh of Paradise what was your anticipation what what what specifically did you think was their plan and did you think they did it the right way or what would you do differently in how they dropped those people off on the island so I don't think they actually had a plan.
SPEAKER_11I think if they did have a plan it was very rough um and generally speaking they didn't really give a fuck and I and I think that partly because of the last couple episodes when we hear Pete talking to Gabby about how you know they view LDNs you know regardless of what her actions were when she was talking to Gabby about how they view LDNs how they treat LDNs the the the LDNs basically were just tools for war like they were only as useful as the ones that they only as useful um for as like a means to an end not you know as individual people or whatever. Because it doesn't I don't know I don't care how many child soldiers you train or how well they are trained it doesn't make sense to drop four of them into an completely unknown land and have all of these expectations for them to complete this task. And I also think that it's it's not just that but in conjunction with how how misconstrued the the international narrative about Marleans and Paradise Island actually was. Because I don't think if they had if they had more information and they didn't have as much propaganda about the LDNs as a people then none of that would have happened in that way. Yes because you would legitimately have to have the lowest view of these people to just send children in there blindly for the most part for what is a just a reconnaissance mission and just completely and expect them to succeed. And not only that expect them to continue to not see that everything that you have been instilled in them is complete bullshit I agree with you.
SPEAKER_05I think they went in there half cock and had no plan and then when their friend died they really panicked um I don't know if I would have necessarily let Reiner take the lead because I mean they had a choice that was because he was a leader they died he was a good leader yeah but somebody else could have stepped up no I think the draw titan dude who died was supposed to be the leader that's what Shami B just said he was supposed to be the leader.
SPEAKER_03But I just I I think they after that happened they really got scared and they panicked so they quickly came up with a plan I don't think it was the most foolproof or thought through plan but I agree with what you said I think they should have sent somebody a little bit more seasoned as well with the the group of kids and tried to play it off that way maybe um but yeah go ahead I was about to say yeah I'm I'm I'm in agreement with everybody there there seemingly was no plan um they dropped these kids off and then old boy got killed and he was the whole ass leader so after that um I mean basically the move the only reason why additional moves were made after that is because Rainier bitch ass was like I'm not going back to being a a regular you know they already they already doubted man's and he was like nah like we about to finish this fucking mission because I need my clout dog period and and of course this yeah I mean that I mean yes basically it he he literally was like nah we not going back empty handed period and I mean because Annie and them was they was ready to go back like oh shit with like the shit you know we fucked at this point but now he was like nah not he was like they already they already think I'm a failure they already think this shit about me I'm about to leave this bitch and we about to go do whatever the fuck they wanted us to do which again I feel like nobody knew the plan after old boy got killed so so so um so yeah they went in there and did whatever basically yeah that's that's one of the uh one of the more interesting and I guess more frustrating parts of the show is is okay it's like you you you you based you've based the your entire power power structure around around these titans and but also you you were so racist that that you that you that you both base your whole uh civilization on on the power they represent while simultaneously treating them completely like shit yep like like they like they didn't even they even treat them like the like the desert like they even treat them like the good gladiators like you know like the you know like most of gladiators were slaves but the good the good ones they you know they get they get the house in the family taken care of uh yeah and they can they can earn earn and earn their freedom but like they the it it was like they just treated him like as as like you know like slightly better seasoned shit like so slightly better seasoned shit so like so like the uh you know the mental the mental state that all all these niggas in that like while they're sending them in all by themselves and you know and and and right and reiner like you know and that wasn't and that wasn't clout he was like without without without without this they're gonna they're gonna feed me yeah if I get back and they're gonna kill my family. Yep. So it's like it's like I don't I don't I don't understand how they can expect results under like you know like I don't I don't I don't even care if you racist but don't be stupid. Yeah and but but you know but the more you know the more examples we see in life and in fiction the it is it is very hard to separate the stupid very into racism.
SPEAKER_10But um no it was uh I I honestly it was I I didn't I didn't I didn't I didn't uh I didn't come down on the show but but but seeing how random the Marley and attacks was and seeing how uncoordinated they were uh like really did it especially especially like they had they had us they had a scene where they showed they showed Zeke and he was uh and he was and he was like reporting and they was talking about what he was what they what they was going to do and he like he gave some input and they was pretty much like you know like shut up slave like like slave like you know we're like we don't pay you to have good ideas and he's like he's smarter than all of you this doesn't make any sense but yeah that's a constant thing that y'all see y'all see that quite a bit um as time goes on is that the way that this whole the way that this whole thing works with Marley is that yeah we don't like y'all and we'll always tell you look as long as you fight for us you'll be considered people but really those families as long as they know their place they'll they'll they'll be left alone if they ever start to actually think oh yeah because my son or daughter is a titan I should get blah blah blah they're often it's like it's just like literally that simple and then they're just gonna tell the uh the soldiers hey you know some blah blah blah happened while you were gone you know it's just like like if you ain't gonna know you at a war so it's not you gonna you're gonna feel it like it's like so that's what I was like it's uh yeah that that's a and the the parallel of how they use that and they kind of like play the like some titans play the Uncle Tom role I think is done really well. And once again you'll see that quite a bit as well. So it's like like even down to like like how Zeke is under the idea that all this is his people's fault. So if his people don't exist all this will go away and it's like nah it's just gonna change somebody else yeah because Marley had multiple people underneath him that they had captured like this one the only this one the only like group of people that was being disenfranchised. Like they you know Yelena for one which I guess we'll talk about later a lot of her reasoning for how why she did things the way she did is because she was her village was literally destroyed her country was literally destroyed and all the people that weren't killed were taken under Marley and used as you know war slaves pretty much so um so yeah and and it's like because of the LDs and the older LDs and how they feel like oh well our people were a scourge so this is why we have to do this is well what about the people who burned a scourge so is this is literally just Marley being you know fucking roll back in the day. We are above everybody therefore you all must do what we say you know so you know that sound like right I'm not doing that right now.
SPEAKER_08We can but not right now not the not the exact moment because I was gonna say you know it it is an interesting take about each of the individual nationalities that were you know subject to I don't want to it's not colonization it's it's Marley uh being conquered if you will by Marley and being decimated by Marley and having to become as uh uh Shammy B was saying a war slave to Marley having to fight their battles and having to kill people to the point where you know individual ones from different nations who would have never interacted with each other at all all just was like hey we I don't like them bruh I don't like them either and they just in this on this ship they're like you know what let's take them out and they all agreed simultaneously let's end it and then they just moved on with it it's like we don't want to do this anymore. So the fact that they could not have enough power which they sought after which they said they had to be able to control these people that they conquered it it it to me it baffles me. I I don't know why you would put yourself into a situation like that.
SPEAKER_11But as we said before it tends to keep happening to a specific group of people I think because um as as like a potential answer to that question is that they understand the full force of the power that actually comes with the titans and knowing that they're and because remember at the beginning of the series they kind of had this recognition that technology is advancing in a way in which titans will inevitably become um inadequate you know tools of war. Yeah they become obsolete tools of war so they they knew that titans were only going to last them for so long but they also knew how powerful titans were and they could get full control they only had limited control of it because they only had what one two three titans at this point because they didn't have any anymore. Reiner was gone yeah no not reiner verhold was gone so they only they only had three titans up they had the beast titan the jaw titan oh and they had the they had the cart and the and the stay at home type the stay at home type the warham yeah the war oh yeah the my business type the my fucking business titan yeah so they technically have three and a half titans if you want to count them but but like the the the the need it I think it will like what you were describing to me sounds like this kind of this uh this very implicit fear behind that kind of recognition. So you have to when it's like when you're a nation in that kind of position and you're clamoring for more power um and you know that you're making more enemies by doing the things that you're doing and it's like you know I need to have something else to cling to so that when push comes to shove I still have this iron fist to lay down the law at the end of the day. So it's like yeah they have the power they have the the the power to conquer these nations with the few titans that they do have but inevitably the whole world can start looking at then as you know oh you're you are a colonizer you're a global you're a global colonizer. Like the the globalization of Marley was probably what influenced a lot of their fear in the first place because they they recognized at the at bare minimum that other nations weren't fucking with what what they were doing because they were continuously trying to impose their power in other places especially in the same way they imposed in a similar way in which they imposed it over the LD and so like once you get into the the political um kind of like just nuances and complications of all of that then yeah like they're they're only well from what I can see one of the only like true um um answers at the end of the day is to acquire more power so at so no one can fuck with them regardless of what they think or believe or want.
SPEAKER_08So if we were to look at the invasion of Marley where the quote unquote devils of paradise were coming in and it's interesting I'll give my personal opinion first so when they arrived my initial thought process was oh snap Aaron and them about to come and wreck Marley but to only find out that these niggas wasn't even trying to kill Marley they were coming back to retrieve Aaron and the fact that all these people had to go for them to get Aaron boggles my mind.
SPEAKER_05I would like to know what everybody's opinion is on that because it's like damn I think Levi said it best during the episode we're always coming to rescue Aaron because he's our most value asset. Smart Miss Kittle first of all when I say my man's the goat he said fuck with y'all talking about this political shit I'm about to go in this bitch on on some secret agent shit with my attack titan ass self of course you're gonna have to send the squad for my for my ass I am the attack titan my nigga so yeah that of course I mean I know they want to go in there and do all that but like my nigga Aaron first of all first of all let's talk about how my man's showed up with the with the with the cane and all this shit and I said I said who that I said that nigga look real familiar like halt halting his halting regeneration making sure his leg didn't grow back for a period of time and then just like that shit like like don't fuck anybody who has a superpower being invisible that nigga was invisible and he's insane invisible like no like when you when I tell you that sushi and Kyle have told me that was Aaron I was like nigga what I was like nah you gotta look at the moment he showed up the moment he showed up on scene and he said and he and he told he told Falco his name and whatever I said my boy I said that's Aaron all day now that's Aaron all day um but um I I'm I'm I'm uh I'm a Jaegerist so I'm a I'm a Jaegerist right all day every day um and and the fact that he went in there and just got shit done because I at the end of the day I feel like people get fed up dog and then and then you got the most powerful the most powerful nigga fed the fuck up you thought he was about to consult with y'all and talk to the panel and and and you know consult at that point Aaron had nothing to move political debate fuck that is right really fuck all the fuck what y'all talking about and now on top of that who about to stop me who gonna check me boo who about to fucking stop me so so yeah I'm um yeah I done forgot the question waiting for the shit to start I was like yo I know you ain't coming in here and he's gonna be quiet this whole he ain't coming in like he went in there on and on yes the minute we heard about the founding time coming in there I was like oh shit I'm just gonna wait like the fuck off the shit nigga scared the look of like you're gonna look like a bitch up and I'm I'm sorry I'm so sorry for two straight seconds I was like oh Anima's black now y'all y'all missing the fact that y'all did we not watch how this nigga was moving in the side oh yeah like a like an episode of a box is just moving what this was moving and oh my god one second be like he's not just another he is moving like it baby he just did like a philomon transformation to me once again somebody need to show me where he's been training what he's been doing for him to have that that's a lot of Facebook you have it's like this man has gone through some type of experience that he is now on beast mode where he is in a fucking squad yep he is the squad I'm gonna do me like I'm gonna do it where motherfuckers gonna die and this is the same nigga that couldn't handle
SPEAKER_09The idea of people being killed.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_09Right. My man said.
SPEAKER_05What the fuck happened in this? Like we went in there and was like an eye for an eye, maybe you fucked up my home, my mom died, and everything. Hey, I'm gonna flatten everything for you.
SPEAKER_08Oh my gosh, Armin. We dropped Armin no more.
SPEAKER_09That's not Armin to me.
SPEAKER_08It's not.
SPEAKER_01That is no longer Armin.
SPEAKER_11Y'all wanna know what I just realized? I just realized that the whole Jaeger is like mission is still in alignment with what Aaron said he was going to do at the beginning of this series. Oh yeah. Yeah. And like it didn't dawn on me until this moment. Like he said he like, but it's like the having to reconcile that what Aaron wanted means just literally ending the bloodline of every single LDN is what it means to destroy all the Titans. Because he himself is a Titan, everyone he knows, everyone he has known and grown up with is a Titan. Like the Titans will always exist as long as LDIs live. And at the end of the day, it's like the that kind of that focus on, you know, trying to save everyone from the Titans is more so like this kind of very I'll call him a much more bastardized and twisted idea of trying to save people from themselves or trying to be this kind of weird savior. Um, because he went from this idea that you know Titans are terrorizing my people, and it's like, oh shit, my my people are the Titans. But at the same time, when you learn all this backstory, you learn all this history, it's like, okay, well, my people are being oppressed, but we're also, you know, living on our own. And then when you finally go to them to the to the quote unquote fatherland, um, and see the people who are oppressing your people and the people who live under them while you have been on this island this entire time. Yeah, you're gonna destroy all of it. And then at the end of the day, when you meet up with your brother, your half brother, excuse me, meet up with your half-brother, and y'all have a full discussion about how anxious your dad was on both ends. Um I will I will always stand by the fact that the true villain of this entire show was Grisha Yeager. But what you like get to these really tough realizations and you go through all this really traumatic shit, it's like, you know what, all the Titans need to go. And I'm and if that means killing off or destroying. Well, let's go with it. It's it's not euthanizing, it's like it's like a for it's forced sterilization of an entire people, which has its own racial implications already. But um yeah, it's like you, it's it's it's uh it's like the most middle ground, it's the humblest middle ground that he can be on to be able to allow his people to live the rest of their lives in peace, but while simultaneously not giving them the opportunity to want to continue to be themselves, if that makes sense, or not continue to exist as a society or as a part of the world. It's like this is this is our this is our civilization's last chance at trying to live a quote unquote peaceful life, but it has to stop at a certain point. So there won't be any more there won't be any more LDNs after this. Like after we do what we do, there will not be any more children. There will like we are going to be it. If you die, you die, and hopefully you made the most of it.
SPEAKER_10Yeah. Um he's struggling over here. I'm struggling over here because there's certain things that I know, and it's like nope. No, no, no, I'm not doing it, I'm not doing it. I'm not doing it.
SPEAKER_08I'll end this episode right now.
SPEAKER_10No, no, it's all right. I'm sitting here talking to Damo, and I'm like, Damo's gonna end up talking more for this episode than I am, just because like not knowing what I know, it's kind of hard for me to have a conversation about what's going on now because I look forward to so much in part two, and even listening to the conversation, it's like there's so much I look forward to y'all seeing in part two. There's there's so like oh man, there's so much.
SPEAKER_08Like I wait a year and a half, I think.
SPEAKER_10Like, yeah, exactly. Like what y'all have to wait for, like Tackle Titan does so well, and this anime in the series as a whole, it just does so well at taking people's ideas and what they think is happening and literally flipping them on their head. And like there's there's certain episodes we've done in the past that I want to include characters that you've seen already, but you haven't there's characters you haven't seen in their true element just yet. And it's like like like Aaron is so great on so many levels, like it's like it's so many levels. Like we play it, like even to what y'all talking about with the he was invisible. We for the first episode when me and Dalma watched, I would I rewind it. I was like, So did you see Aaron?
SPEAKER_08I did the exact same thing. I did the exact same thing. I was like, so you saw it, right? I was like, it's like before you saw it. He's like, what you didn't see it?
SPEAKER_04Didn't see it.
SPEAKER_10That was like that was like a taco tactic episode of Wales Wall though.
SPEAKER_04Like, so let's go back and look.
SPEAKER_00Let's watch it again before we go here.
unknownExactly.
SPEAKER_04Do you see what I'm not here? What do you see here? And it's she's like, wait, wait, wait. And it's starting to click for it. She's like, wait, wait, go back.
SPEAKER_05I have sort of a theory. Um, that so uh uh I know a lot of people didn't go back and like I'm the type of person go back and watch like the at least the last two episodes of a previous season before I started this uh new season, especially for Attack on Titans, since these niggas be drawing that shit out for years. Um, so at the end of season three, there there was a moment where Historia was like, you know, crowning nigga, thanking them or whatever, whatever. And she and Aaron, you know, they touched hands or whatever, and he saw some some whole like a whole bunch of shit. And I feel like that had something to do with why my man's went in so hard at the beginning of the of this season because we saw we saw a whole like montage, like for a split second, and my man's Aaron was sitting there, and she and she was like, Erin, and niggas was looking at him like Aaron, and my man's was gone, yeah, like gone. So I I I definitely feel like that whatever he saw when he touched her got something to do, and we haven't we haven't seen a whole lot of historia in this.
SPEAKER_11It was probably all it was probably the same shit that Ultron saw, which made him try to destroy the world, not Ultron. Um was like, This shit has got to go.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so she's running the country over there, she's pregnant and shit. So you probably had her baby to worry about, but yeah, but her baby got something to do with this too. So oh no, I'm sure. You'll you'll get your answer to that, but keep that there. You'll get your answer to that definitely in part two, and and you're gonna want some popcorn for that episode.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I know. I know I want popcorn for all the episodes.
SPEAKER_10I'm sitting here like I'm spreading the gospel of Tag or Titan.
SPEAKER_04Let me tell you, would you like to Yagerist right now?
SPEAKER_00Would you like to be a Yeager?
SPEAKER_08You had a point you were trying to make.
SPEAKER_03That's the pop one right here. No, I was I was just gonna say that I think I think I think my I think my biggest disappointment of the season was was finding out that like that paradise didn't plan that attack because it was it that was one of the most like and attack on Titan in general is incredibly like well directed. They put the camera in amazing places, they the the the depth, the depth that they give to these niggas' eyes, like and their eyes are flat. See these like these niggas' irises are fucking concave. These are people, these are souls you were staring at, which is which is why I didn't recognize Aaron because it's the souls gone. It was there was no there was no light there. But but just but seeing the scene the this how smooth and amazing, like it was and it wasn't just how clean the attack was, it was it it was like what you it was the glow up you wanted from your characters after a time skip, yeah. And like, and it was like just seeing like the uh like working together, and Aaron and Aaron was just that yo, when Aaron when Aaron was just when they like when he got the the uh the top of his head blown off, and he just sat there and surveyed the battlefield and watched. I that was that was like him going super saying to me. I was like, This nigga is watching right and learning, recalculating, and recalculating, gathering information.
SPEAKER_08I was like, wait, wait, wait, and Armin is nowhere in sight, right?
SPEAKER_11Until you found out that there wasn't a planned attack, you thought Armin had to put that shit everything, right?
SPEAKER_08Right, that's what made me think uh uh Elena when she first came up there with the beard. I thought that was Armin. I was like, okay, Armin's there, coordinating everything. Okay, I see, I see. But then when Armin showed up in the middle of the ocean, I'm like, wait a minute, hold up, wait, I remember you saying that was Armin.
SPEAKER_03I was like, I see no damn Armin.
SPEAKER_11Oh my gosh. But you know what? She gave it away that it wasn't planned by Armin. The look on his face when he returned into the tight.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_11Because like now that I'm thinking about that moment, he looked so horrified and sad. Like he didn't look like he got caught. He looked like he's like, I'm sorry for what I'm about to have to do right now.
SPEAKER_08Oh my gosh. Um okay. Thank you. Great points. So the next question I have, or the next point I want to make sure we make, is we have to take a couple of moments of silence. For Sasha. Um so if we can just have complete silence. I know I don't like dead air, but that's just like five seconds for Sasha, please.
SPEAKER_04Sasha was a fucking beast. Like my real tears. I ain't never hear the channel so much.
SPEAKER_10And it's like it's just like, yo. Like I knew Sasha was good with a gun, but I didn't know she was like fucking like jog witch with the shit.
SPEAKER_03Like, nasty with and she had people to shoot.
SPEAKER_08Yes, that tightens people.
SPEAKER_10That's the that's like she had no and she had no issue. It wasn't like she even looked like she was like, Oh, this is killing me on the internet. She was like, just another day.
SPEAKER_01She was like, nigga, we nigga, we hunting.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that was my favorite. Oh, and then and then the meats, she always brought the meats.
SPEAKER_08She was ready with it, always ready with it.
SPEAKER_10You know what?
SPEAKER_08And that's the crazy part. Myself, uh, myself, Kaze and the Black Recorder watching that episode, and you know, Kaze has always said that Sasha was his soulmate. Um, but when she took that shot at the two guards that were next to Gabby, and she didn't take the shot, I was like, Y'all, this looks like one of those moments where you're gonna regret not taking a shot. And Kaze was like, Oh, it's fine. Whoever's gonna come back is gonna kill that dude I don't like, the guy with the red hair who's a part of the Igorus, came out of nowhere at the end of the last war. So I was like, Oh, you're right, but I don't know because the way she looking and the look in Sasha's eyes, I feel like my heart's about to be broken. Because the same thing that happened in um in uh uh uh uh gaming kakel. I was like, it was the same feeling. It was like an increasing danger. I'm like, I don't like what's about to happen.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I like how they did that too. The way they did that was great because it's like, even for me knowing what was about to happen, I was sitting there watching that. I'm like, oh damn, they really played that well. And I was sitting there waiting for it, because I'm like, because part of me has forgotten this part of the things in the mega that this animation is about to be a good so far back. And I was sitting there watching this, like, oh, they played that very well. And then I leaked after a while. I'm like, I'm sorry. And then I'm like, you didn't know.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, but then but then he clicked, it clicked, and I was like, oh fuck, yeah, no, I was still there like, oh man, like it was so irritating because it was so many niggas that could have shot Gabby that didn't because she was a child, yeah, and I get it, but I ain't never wanted I exactly I ain't never wanted some somebody there so so bad in my life. Yeah, but I said this little bitch got the goal, okay?
SPEAKER_01Somebody somebody got to the island, and he was about to knock the shit out of her with that ball of what yeah, he was ready to beat that ass.
SPEAKER_06Like, you look like the love of my life. He said, I don't know why you still here, dog. Like, um, oh my god.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_08Falco has risked his life on so many occasions for this girl who we can't even tell. He likes likes her. Like, I'm so done. Like, nigga. He still likes like you know he don't love her, he just likes likes her.
SPEAKER_05Like she literally has no idea that the nigga like her though, so that's why it's really extra.
SPEAKER_11Like, I'm saying looking at him like that. She focused on her racism.
SPEAKER_08She's thank you. Right.
SPEAKER_11She focused on her internalized racism. That's what that is.
SPEAKER_08She's just looking at him. Why are you stopping me? Why are you here? And he's like, he's trying to say it. He's like, Don't you know they need to die? I'm like, I'm trying to make this like a smooth move. I'm trying to leave the door open, but why are you like? I need you to understand. No, but we have to kill them. What I'm saying is, I'm trying to lay you down, girl. Nah, man, we gotta lay them down. I'm like, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_03I remember I remember doing the during during the attack, and and you know, and they was and they kept you know that they kept you know switching from both sides, showing everybody was doing. I was like, all right, bet. All right, cool. And then and then it was about it was around like the third or fourth time they showed Gabby, and I was like, wait, yeah, she's still watching why like she not doing nothing. No, y'all, y'all trying to y'all trying to get me invested and give a fuck about what she's what she's doing. I don't like it. Yeah, and and just like you said, when she like when she when she was staring at Sasha, and I was like, Oh no, yeah, it was like the it was the kill bill sound. I was like, I was like, Y'all gonna make me hate this little girl.
SPEAKER_05Not to mention they kind of look alike, true, yeah.
SPEAKER_03They do. I mean, did they the same people? That's that's all that's true.
SPEAKER_05Tragedy I was also waiting for the little girl that Sasha saved to whoop Gabby's ass too.
SPEAKER_01Oh, she almost did. Oh, yeah, she almost did. She had the knife and everything, like she was ready to go.
SPEAKER_08And the fact that she gave like I felt like you knew. Oh, I'm saying, like the the relationship that they were trying, or friendship they were trying to build between the two of them reminded me of that uh that old decom, that Disney movie, um uh with with the white girl that from South America Africa that was living with the African girls. Yes, that's what it reminded me of. I was like, Oh, y'all about to make her, but when she finds out the truth, oh it's about to go down. And sure enough, it almost did.
SPEAKER_10I'd like to give it up to the voice actor for the voice actor for that character, uh Gabby, both the American and the and the Japanese. The reason why I want to give it up to them is because of all the hate that they got after the episode was died. Uh like motherfuckers go with ham and just the voice actors, like they shot Sark.
SPEAKER_08Like it's the voice actor, um, guys.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, like whether because I'm sitting there and I'm watching this episode, and I'm like, I feel I already felt sorry for everybody involved in Gabby's character right there. Because I'm like, y'all have no idea what y'all are about to get in, y'all. Y'all not a clue. Y'all got all the smokes. The sad truth is they got one that Gabby got one more moment, too. But y'all gonna hate the shit out of her. I mean, we already we already hate her. Lady Gabby's. You will never love Gabby.
SPEAKER_03All right, all right, that's that's enough, that's enough, nigga.
SPEAKER_06Right, that isn't that.
SPEAKER_03I can't I can because I'm starting I'm already starting to do math based on the applied. Shut up.
SPEAKER_08All right, so before we before people start, because I see Miss Skittles, her head is ticking, she's moving, and Kaze stay thinking, even if his face don't show it. So I'm gonna keep going on to the next point. So we talked about Gabby, we talked about Sasha, we talked about Aaron. Um uh I was actually Miss Miss Skittles beat me to it. I was gonna talk about the Jaegerists. So this this radical group, this radicalized group of individuals who have decided to uh swear loyalty and allegiance to both Aaron and Zeke Jaeger uh because they have stated that there's there's a change. We we have like these people are the the epitome of unafraid to die, unafraid to fix this situation. We are in a place where our lives are never gonna get better. We have come to the understanding that we are nothing but tools or or livestock in some cases, where people are just gonna keep using us over and over again. Like, and the the crazy part is most of these followers, I'm pretty sure they don't even have like the deep level understanding that Zeke and Aaron do. Like about the fact that the the memories of everybody on Parodies get wiped out every certain amount of years, about the fact that um uh uh any one of them can become a Titan based off of uh the whims of certain people. So, what is your feeling as well, I mean I'm sure Mr. Skittles can go first, but what is your feeling about the concept of these Jaegerists, about these individuals who are following uh I'll say 30% blindly behind Aaron and Zeke purely on the issues that they've come across.
SPEAKER_05So I feel like um I feel like the Jaegers are I mean we can we can compare them to many uh you know civil rights groups um per se. Um, you know, it's it's it don't it it takes you know some leaders and then you know you get people that that follow behind like I for example I know there's a lot of people in support of uh BLM, but a lot of people also in support of BLM don't know like the reason why BLM got started or even the fucking founders of the of the BLM. So um so in that sense I feel like uh Aaron Aaron and the Jaegers, I mean, they they see what he's trying to do, they kind of get the gist of it, and they and they like look, we we want we we backing you 100%. And I feel like they dare I say it, they on some, like if back in the day, if the Black Panthers had a got like on this level of some shit, we we might be in a different we might be in a different like world. Yeah, like like our whole like as black people our whole world might be different today if they was on some some some Yeager shit, like and you know there's it's it's too an extreme. They definitely an extremist group, I would definitely say that. Like they literally kill a nigga.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, several.
SPEAKER_05So um, but I I I just feel like at this point it's it's either do or die, and and that's where they're at with it. Um you know, back then, honestly, I feel like back then we was do or die, but you know, everybody ain't you know down for that shit. So we got this small, we got this small ass island of people. Um and and then you got the Marlins, you know, just brainwashing niggas from all over everywhere else to to be, you know, on top of these these uh these people on this island. And and they and and Aaron's like, you know what, this is my home. I'm done. Like, I'm tired. And I feel like that's that's what it what it comes down to. I'm tired. This is what we about to do. Either you on board or you not. And if you not, you can get it fucked up like the rest of these niggas. Period. Um, so yeah, I'm down with the Jaegers. I'm I'm down with the Jaegerist. I'm down with it. Like, like how much, how much, like how political we've seen, we've seen how politics works, and we've seen how slow shit moves. And and and he he just had the point where it's like, nah, we we not waiting no more. Cause the longer we wait, the more, you know, the more my people suffer or or not exist or be treated like whatever. So yeah.
SPEAKER_02It kind of moves like a cultist to me.
SPEAKER_05I mean, so did so did well, never mind.
SPEAKER_02That's all I mean the position, so they don't know. That's kind of what Z can inspires. Yeah, so they sip the Kool-Aid and it's already too late. That wine. Literally. That wine. I was just about to say that wine.
SPEAKER_10That's a wine guy. Like with the Jaegerists, has anybody else noticed this? And and Ms. Skills kind of pointed it out just now, and the reason why I bring this up, that there's almost like, and um going with what Black McCoy said earlier, Mr. Skills saying now, there's almost like two parallels in the Jaegerist, where you have the ideas that Zeke and Aaron are pushing with the euthanization of the aliens, but then you also have the Jaegerists where it's like, oh, there's a rumble, fuck the euthanization. We euthanized the world. So it's like, but so my question is which one do y'all think is the actual thought process of the Jaegerists? Is it the euthanization of the world or the euthanization of the alias?
SPEAKER_11I think it's probably both. Um, I don't know. I don't I don't I don't think it's one of those either-or situations. I think that if push come to shove, you know, if there are two goals that need to lead to the same end, then it it wouldn't it wouldn't be uh it wouldn't be unusual to me to have accomplish both just to get there. Like if the rumble needs to happen to tell people to to to fuck off, uh, while simultaneously saying the only salvation for our people is to like forcefully sterile sterilize them so that no more LDMs will have to suffer, quote unquote, suffer in the future, then you know, yeah, that they'd absolutely be both. Because from one perspective, using the rumbling to tell everybody to fuck off is like it's almost like a well so this answer depends on one thing in particular that stands in my mind that if they use the power of the founding titan to founding titan to forcefully sterilize all of the LDs, it would also have to assume that it's a power that can, it's something that can be undone by the founding titans as well. So, I mean, inevitably you have to depend on the idea that no one else gets a hold of the founding titan in one way, shape, or another. Or, you know, you use the founding titans' ability to force forcefully um alter like all LD and biology to the point where they can't turn into Titans and that can never be it can never happen ever again. Like it can't, like there would be some steps of things that would need to happen so it can't be undone. Um so if that if all those things happen and you know LDN can just be regular ass people, then cool. So that's one part. The other part is if they use the rumbling, it would need it, if they use the rumbling before doing all of that, it would be, it would have to be, it would have to depend on this kind of like propagandistic threat that you know what, if you if you don't leave these people alone, this is what's going to happen. And we're gonna use it now to kind of like call to call your bluff or show the like kind of show our teeth without actually having to show our actual show our claws as well. And so using that to protect their people and giving their people the opportunity to just live as normal human beings. Because for all intents and purposes, like, and I've written a paper on this in the past, but like changing certain, you know, for all intents and purposes, very tangible things, um, be it politically, be it, you know, whatever, um, they they don't alter the ideology. They don't alter the the more ingrained, the more ingrained socio-historical context of things. So for all intents and purposes, even if everyone knows that LDN can't be Titans anymore and they ain't nothing but regular people, that's not gonna change the racism. It's not gonna make life easy, it's not gonna necessarily make life easier for LDNs, which I think is the most flawed thing about this entire plan altogether, is that there is this hope or that there is this investment in the idea that once everything is all said and done, LDNs will quote unquote finally be free. But then the question would be free from whom and free from what and to what ends and by what means? Like, is it all going to truly be worth it based on this very flawed idea of peace and of freedom and of prosperity when in actuality you're creating more barriers and if anything, removing the and if anything, at the end of the day, removing the one weapon that Eldians would have to protect themselves from people who would want to do them harm.
SPEAKER_05They just gotta stomp them out, you know what I'm saying? They just gotta get clapped out, they gotta get cuttled out.
SPEAKER_11And I'm saying, like, if they get clapped out, if they do that, then and then proceed to you like sterilize everyone so that no more LDs can be be produced, what what's gonna happen then? Like, because and I'm also wondering, like, if they and that's what I'm saying, like if they want that plan to be permanent, stomp them out and then sterilize all the LDs, it's like, okay, well, do you want LDs to be the only ones left in the world and then the LDNs die out and then no one's left in the world? Or do you want to just well, based on the plan that they have kind of outlined, they're not gonna take away their abilities to turn into Titans because that'd be a completely different thing altogether. They just want to make sure they can't reproduce. So I guess that's that's the the issue for me. Because I mean, if you decide that you want to still allow them to be titans and someone just doesn't agree with this plan altogether, somewhere down the line, they can reverse it.
SPEAKER_10Or they just stomp out, you know, everybody and then just bolster their own ranks.
SPEAKER_11Right, but you have to depend on those ranks not changing their minds at some point.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but it's a it's such a it's such an interesting like just the like the like because this this like the the way this cool came off, like they they seem so like ruthless, but it's like but like like the black McCoy barb earlier, it was just like it was like nah sit back, shut the fuck up, we ain't having kids no more. And it's like damn, you you you won't betray everybody to so we can so we can die our kids, like you go like why would you if you if you showed some of this if y'all just playing together showed some of this aggression against the Marley is y'all could just took that shit over. Like it's it's it seemed like such a giant jump to me that y'all just like like okay, we just I love that pun you unintentionally putting that. It's so weird that they that that it just didn't come up that this we just gonna overthrow Marley and live there, you know. You use the rumbling to just just a threat, you know, just like they're not they're using their threat now, but just you know, just uh hey, we minding our business because honestly, they were mine, they they was mind their business on paradise, it was a threat of rumbling that why they left paradise alone and nobody but Marley came there. So they can they can they can do the same thing to the rest of the world. Mar Marley is the is the one fucking with the rest of the world. So if they if they if they just took over Marley and was like, yo, we you know, we're gonna live here, either you know, we uh either kick them out or turn them into the new locators, and you know that's a bad idea, that's a problem, that's another problem, you know, 20 years or so. But you know, just take over, be like, yo, leave us alone or rumbling, and you know, I felt like that was a very solid mid step that they just that they just hopped way the fuck over. Like and and I and not only that, but it's like it was like the the founding titan powers are broken to they're way too broken for it then to have reached the conclusion that they did, right? Right, right. It was it was kind of like it was kind of like the Thano snap, and it was like, yeah, I'm gonna cut everything half. And I was like, nigga, there was a whole bunch of more nuanced uh solutions that you could jump to because you could because you have all this power of a life and death on the scale of the universe. Uh you know, I feel I feel like this, so there's so many other, you know, and you're strong enough to use these things, so you could have daller scale things, you could have been doing test things, you could do so many things you could have done, but she was like, Nope, pow. And I'm like, okay, that's that seemed like a big job for some. You don't know if it's gonna work or not. Um but you know, and this and this it just feels like a very similar thing. Like, especially like, especially like the way uh uh you know, especially the way that the uh the the aliens get treated in Marley is kind of like I feel like I feel like an insurrection would have been super easy to start. Like cause like because it's obvious, like you obviously got your gabbies, but uh but but I'm sure but most of the adults are are more like peak. Like, you know, peak peaks still fighting them because that's that's what the you know that's that's the her folks are fighting them. That's what they that's what they're doing. But she don't she don't fuck with them, fuck with them. Like, like that, that's that speech, that speech she gave to uh to Aaron at the end was was so good because because I think Aaron knew she was telling the truth, even though he knew she was lying, he ain't know where the lie was, but he knew the words coming out her mouth was was true. Like, so I felt I felt like that.
SPEAKER_11He knew he was she was spitting facts, but right just because you have the facts on your side doesn't mean you're still not a line because he's not lying, right?
SPEAKER_03Right. So um no, yeah, it was uh it was definitely uh yeah, the plan the plan was I don't know, it seems it seemed seemed like a bit, a bit, a bit actually.
SPEAKER_11I'm I'm really glad you brought up that conversation between Aaron and Peak because it it is fundamentally one of the most interesting things because Peak represents more so this kind of like ideal individualism where there's this relationship to other individual people. She did, she is like she did what she did to um protect the people that she fought alongside with and that she developed these relationships with. But the the more flawed aspect of that is that in doing so, she is like in place, she's still complicit in upholding this very harmful, oppressive, global power in the process. And it's like that's the real problem for of Peak for me. While she up while she maintains this very, you know, fundamental, you know, it's not the it's not the thing that I'm I'm serving, it's the people that I work with. And it's like, well, the people that you work with are also racists and they're racist against you, and they're also a part of this extremely large racist institution and this very extremely large racist power. But because you want to invest in this idea of an individual relationship and individual care of a certain thing, you want to somehow continue to act in accordance with all of these extremely harmful things that don't just affect you, but affect these people and affect all these people around the world. And it's like that that's that's what she represents to me. She represents this very inherently flawed perspective, or flawed, lacking in more nuance, lacking in more critical thought, or lacking in kind of this like real interrogation that's necessary, you know, this this perspective that wants to be so so um contradictory in its independence, but still complicit in this kind of uh harmful codependence.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the honesty, the only the only reason I I'm I I give Pete some space is because we honestly don't know it, yeah. We honestly don't know what her and Rike Reiner are planning outside of those scenes where we've seen her because it where she's not one of the people, she's not one of the people the camera's following.
SPEAKER_11So if we do it very particular in the modes we follow her, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_03So so honestly, so I'm thinking if she's late because the way she was talking, it's kind of like she did she could she can kind of be going towards that whole insurrection that that I was uh that I was talking about, especially especially after how destabilized Molly was after that attack. Excuse me. Um so so so if if if she if she's just if she's just not thinking ahead at all, then yeah, you're completely right, and it's super unfortunate, especially with with how clever and cunning and you know charismatic she she can be when she needs to be.
SPEAKER_11Um but uh yeah, which is cool because I didn't expect any of that from her after we saw her like crawling on the ground and shit. I'm like, girl, what are you doing?
SPEAKER_03Right, yeah. I was like, what is this hideous malformed thing? And I was like, Is it an inbred titan?
SPEAKER_01I was I was like, what why are you on the girl? Like, you ain't in Titan talking for that.
SPEAKER_03Oh my lord, it had the underbite, and I was like, Oh, oh yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_11I'm glad we never see it with like the mask on. That would fuck me up.
SPEAKER_05Let's talk about a nightmare.
SPEAKER_08In talking about the different characters, I believe we did cover uh a bunch about the Jaegerist, and uh, I believe it was either Miss Skittles or Kaze. I can't remember at the moment, who specifically mentioned the main, well, it's funny. So online, the main antagonist of Attack on Titan uh is Zeke, which is weird because I wouldn't call him the main antagonist, and at least not by himself. Um, because one of the things that either Miss Skittles or Kaze said was the fact that it this all boils up to um Grisha Yeager, both Zeke and um Aaron's father, who is the you know, I won't say he's the reason behind all of this, but technically he's the reason behind all of it.
SPEAKER_03He's the catalyst, and Zeke is the new catalyst, right?
SPEAKER_05When we saw in Zeke's story, Zeke got the idea from the person that he took the Beast Titan from. So you have to also include him into Zeke's now, you know, skilled.
SPEAKER_08But the only reason why that happened was because Zeke's father, Grista, was an asshole. Well, not asshole. He you well, he was the girlfriend. He was the one that pushed him to listen to the child.
SPEAKER_03Good births lead to just children. And it wasn't the ideas, it was the execution. And you know, because honestly, because everybody says, like, uh, you know, talk about the daddy, but honestly, he he was obvious, he's obviously a product of his situation, and and and they was obviously in the situation that didn't need to change. The fact the fact that we broke breaking up villains and ain't nobody talking about the the founding Titan or Marley is super weird to me. Because they are obviously the real reason why 90, yeah, the night you're talking about the Genesis or something, and these are these are two niggas is trying to you know react to this in the way that us in the best way a single entity can't.
SPEAKER_08My exact words were the internet was saying, but I get what you're saying.
SPEAKER_03No, no, I'm saying we we brought up earlier who Oh, yes, yeah, yeah. So it's not it's it's not just the internet, right?
SPEAKER_08So with that being said, with Grisha being said, I have uh a thought process. Would you say that uh well, I'm not gonna say none of this would have happened, but would you say that a large portion of how this story carried out would not have occurred had it not been for Reiner? Not because he, you know, went on the mission and was, you know, all that shit, but specifically, it was Reiner's plan that broke the hole in the city, which killed Aaron's mother, which set him off on his course to go fuck shit up. So if Reiner didn't do what he did way back when, would and we're just you're we're not talking about this as an anime, we're talking about this as this is like a series of historical events. If Reiner was did not exist, or if Reiner was not there, Reiner didn't do what he did, would we still be in the same situation that we are now as it pertains to the Jaegerists and everything that's happening?
SPEAKER_11I want to say possibly. Um, and I I say that in just in this kind of uh just kind of from my perspective, pointing out what I think is a logical fallacy of having this kind of like quote unquote objective view of these events that are transpiring in the order that they have. It's like, okay, we know that this happened and then this happened. I'm like, well, if this never happened, this would happen. Like, well, that's not necessarily true. Because just because you know Reiner's plan was enacted in one way and then it somehow affected Aaron, which set him t on this path already. I mean, Aaron already had a thing against Titans, but he he was already pretty you know spicy to begin with. And that doesn't necessarily mean he wasn't going to, you know, end up going to the survey corps anyway. Because I think even before his mom died, like he wanted to go into the military or he wanted to go into the survey corps because he wanted to yeah. So I mean, I don't want to say that you know, that would be the that if Reiner hadn't done what they did, Reiner and you know, the crew hadn't done what they did, then we wouldn't be where we are. I mean, because at the end of the day, Grisha still had all the information in the basement, he still had all the secrets and so on and so forth. And if the story had if things had gone differently, it that information wasn't gonna go away. Because I think that was more so the crux of a lot of what is continuing to happen now, um, which is you know what's happening in the base, what Grisha held in that basement. Because it wasn't the actions of Reiner specifically, it was more so the truth of the what was behind those actions and what was behind the reason as to why everyone existed in the walls and why there were Titans out there in the first place. It was, for all intents and purposes, the truth of the world, and that was really what um What's that nigga's name who died? Um shit. Oh, I feel bad. He was blonde. Uh he looked real Aryan.
SPEAKER_10Yes, uh, I know you're talking about I just can't remember his name right now.
SPEAKER_11Um terrible. You you know who he is, though.
SPEAKER_08No, I know terrible, then nobody remembers his name.
SPEAKER_10All I know is that Marvin lived instead of him. That's all I know.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, uh, I mean Armin pretty much had the same mentality borderline, but better.
SPEAKER_11But anyway, but yeah, the the the the I think I think that like Erwin, yes. If you um took away Reiner's Reiner's plan that caused that you know caused Aaron's mother to die, so I don't see it as that kind of downfall effect. I see it more so as a ticking time bomb, and pun intended, they just kicked it and you know it exploded, and the then the chain of events transpired in the way that they did. Um but I think it's wholly possible that if that didn't happen and Aaron and his family, all of them just lived to be old enough to figure all this shit out after Aaron had gone off and joined the military and so on and so forth, that it all could have very well happened in the same way. Not well, let me not say in the same way, but in a similar way.
SPEAKER_08Anybody else?
SPEAKER_02I would love to say how do you think things would have been done if Irwin would have been the colossal Titan and he continued to leave?
SPEAKER_11I think that it would a lot of the strategy would have gone a lot different because Erwin had at the end of the day, Irwin had more fighting ability and more intellect than um than um Erin. Oh, Erin.
SPEAKER_05And I will say I think Erwin knew more than what he led on to. Like that's why he knew a whole bunch and he just didn't necessarily share with the class.
SPEAKER_08So I think that's funny because he didn't share with the class.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, so he knew what he was doing. I do agree that I think if he would have survived that right after that last battle that they did, they would have gone over and fucked my own shit up.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, oh no, yeah. I think the reason why he had Armin take instead of instead of himself was because he knew he wanted Armin, because Armin has the tactical mindset, but he's not the extremist that Erwin is. He's not he's not he's more of an optimist than what Irwin was. Erwin was somewhat pessimistic, but in a lot of ways he understood he his understanding of it is like uh, for example, uh Carly from um Winter Soldier. I mean, not Winter Soldier, uh Falcon and um, I know it's a whole nother show, but Falcon and Winter Soldier.
SPEAKER_08We knew what you were talking about.
SPEAKER_10Erwin is like, this is the Erwin was of the mindset of this is the only language they know. Blow the shit up. And it's just like so it's just like, so it's Armin is more of a peaceful mind. So it's like, yes, he's tactically sound, and yes, he's incredibly intelligent from a battlefield and you know, statistician perspective, but it was, but he's not, he's not the bloodthirst. He doesn't have the same bloodthirst that Erwin does. Erin has Erwin is a big thing.
SPEAKER_11So I wouldn't even just call that like Armin not just having the bloodthirsty. I don't I don't want to say Erwin was like bloodthirsty. I guess that's yeah, I don't, I don't I want to say I think it's like in his qualities as a leader that he's always had. And like the level of his intellect and the kind of more um intense kind of questioning that he had, like his curiosity, is what led him to always want to know what was in that basement, especially after he found out about it. And it's like all of his actions after he found out about that basement were to get up to seeing what was in that basement. Because Arm Erwin was always after the truth. And Armin was always just after people. That was the thing. I think that was one of the main differences between them. That Erwin's Erwin's uh quest for the truth of the world and the truth of why they were in the situation they're in was the driving force. And that was kind of what, for all intents and purposes, made him more dangerous than Armin. Armin just wants things to be okay. Erwin wants to know something specifically. And what he what Erwin would do with that information or do for that information is a completely different thing. Because like once Erwin learns, would have I think that once Erwin would have learned what was in that basement and learned everything about what Grisha left behind, he would have wanted to know more. Then they absolutely would have gone across that lake and absolutely would have found themselves in Marley. And even though Erwin would have in his best, on his best day, tried to be a leader and would have tried to be um, you know, uh a peacemaker, um, he would have been a peacekeeper if he needed to. Or even or even at his worst, he would have done he would have done what he needed to do to get the answers back.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_11So he would have been a more powerful driving force than Armin ever would have been. Because for all if you I'll put it in this perspective, if you look at the plot, um Ermin would have just driven it forward. And there wouldn't have been any, there wouldn't have been any pushback. There wouldn't have been anything holding the story back or holding the action back or holding any of the um the the tensions that we're dealing with now back. But if you throw Armin into that, plot-wise, he's a much more difficult device to get around because he has this awesome power, but he doesn't necessarily want to use it. He always wants things, he always wants things to happen in a peaceful and very egalitarian way. He wants things to occur where everyone on all sides can sit down and be like, okay, this is what we can do peacefully and make sure things are good. But that's what I said. Like when he was in the water, when they had to go back to Aaron before he turned into the fossil titan, he looked horrified that he had to do that because he didn't want to. Because he hates having to end lives, he hates having people get harmed just to reach a particular end, especially if he can use his own intellect to um figure out a way in which everyone can be happy, even when he can't figure out a way in which everyone would be happy, he will always advocate for means for that to happen, and that very easily slows down a lot of events. If he was if Erwin was there instead of Armin to talk to Aaron during that whole Jaegerish shit, it would have gone way differently. Erwin would have been way more prepared for that shit than Armin and Gicasa would have bought themselves.
SPEAKER_08I don't think Aaron would sit down with Erwin in a situation like that.
SPEAKER_10I think Erwin would have been Jaegerish. I'm gonna be honest with you. I think Erwin would be a good thing. I understand what you're saying. To an extent, I understand what you're saying, and I understand why Armin slows things down, but I also wanted to because Erwin looked at death as like like okay, it's just a it's just a way. We I don't want to do it, but it has to happen, type of thing. Armin is more like I will try to find a way to slow this down, to slow this down so I don't have to kill. But he agrees that he has to do it. Armin has now found it in himself to where if I have to do this, I'll do it. But I'm gonna try to find every witch way not to. And that I think that's and I understand that's a big difference between him and Erwin, where Erwin was just like, hey, people gotta die, people gotta die. It's just like, and now you start to see you're starting to see Aaron start to hold that same thought process, where it's like, if people gotta go, people gotta go. And it's like, and and though, no, I don't think Aaron is into the same level as Erwin was, where Erwin, it's just a number. How many lives are lost? That's just a number. I think in Erwin's mind, as a soul from a soldier perspective, people die in a war. So this is just a number. Where Aaron is like, I don't want to have to do this, but I want to make the quickest decision now, and I'll just deal with the consequences later when I like sit in my room crying alone, whatever.
SPEAKER_11Like, you know, it's like it's like I don't agree with you. I think that if we when you compare Erwin and Erwin and Aaron, like Aaron is more like just Aaron and Erwin. Aaron, Aaron, Jaeger. Like when you when you think about how Eren's moving right now and trying to accomplish the Jaegerist goal versus how Erwin would be, like Eren for all instance and purposes is less far less calculated than Erwin would ever be. And I think that's the thing that makes me want to distinguish them even more. So when you said Erwin would probably be a Jaegerist, I don't think Erin, Erwin, they wouldn't be a Jaegerist, they would be following Erwin because Erwin would be way more intellect, has uh intellect that exceeds Erin to the extent where a lot of the actions that Erin took, Erwin would have made them a while ago, or he would have done them in a way that wouldn't have called had as many casualties. Like Gabby wouldn't have made it if Erwin was still alive. Like all these children who were all these child soldiers, they absolutely wouldn't have made it. And even if they did make it for a little while, it would have been because Erin would have at least tried to reason with them and be like, listen, this is the situation. You either get information or you don't.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_11And knowing Gabby, she wouldn't have gotten information and she would have died.
SPEAKER_03And to you know, to be to be fair, I think uh I think the real uh I think the real the real sides would have been because they they they they because they say they say Jaeger is the really Zekeist. And and I think the mu and I think the most important thing is that it were were were were Irwin alive, uh all this all this under under all this underhanded Zeke shit wouldn't have been popping off on his he'd have been like, no, why you why you moving like that? Yeah who's doing who doing this, you know, he would have you know he he would he would have been the one like you know talking to Zeke. And honestly, and honestly they probably and they probably like uh like you said, they probably be following Irvine. They they probably would have came to some uh to some like middle ground somewhere and they wouldn't need to and they wouldn't need to do some sort of you know thing anyway, because like because you know because the the the the whole the whole reason they're giving in to the Jaegers now is because like we cannot be in a zit in a position uh to where we can like split our forces right now. We will live we'll we'll we'll literally die. So like I think so I think Erwin would have foresaw that and I think he could have convinced Zeke.
SPEAKER_11And you know what? I'm glad that you said that because it was like I was like, that's exactly why Erwin had to die. Because he and Levi together were a tour de force, like they could they were practic between Hanj, Levi, and Erwin, they were practically untouchable. And the fact that Erwin gave his life was and was necessary for the drama of the story overall, in my personal opinion.
SPEAKER_05But definitely I look forward to when part two comes out, and I can't wait for you to see it, the black McCoy, because I won't run this tape back. Knowing what I know because he reads the manga, I like I your reaction is gonna be the one that's gonna be intriguing to me the most.
SPEAKER_08You're making me want to do a live action.
SPEAKER_10I'm not even saying who, I'm just saying straight. I do want to see I want to see a live action in some of some of these reactions. I'm looking at the like, I'm thinking at the back of the like, this is all like I guess I only like I'm trying to argue in the I don't know mod, and it's like, oh have this conversation, not argue, but have this conversation in the I don't know mind. But the same sense is like, man, I thought it's supposed to break up. No, that's got to break up.
SPEAKER_08Don't do it. We'll just make sure that the black McCoy and Kaze and Miss Gittles and everybody else is uh uh uh giving uh anime Sunday reactions as they watch the episode, and then you'll be able to give your feedback at that point. How about we do that? Dad'd be dope.
SPEAKER_03But but I love I love I love that I love that we brought up how uh like real realistic that uh that Urban was because it was it was such an interesting decision he made because he was because he you know he we he had such a calculated mind. And when he and when he gave gave up his life to Armin, it was really like I'm a I'm a soldier and I'm and I'm the best at this, but this is all I can do. And and I'm fighting for a world in which a person like Armin deserves a live in. So it was it was honestly when he when they made that decision, I was I I had a lot of high expectations. So I'm I'm actually kind of kind of sad that they uh it's kind of like they put um like Armin Armin Armin can't do anything.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, they kind of put Armin in turn.
SPEAKER_03They they turn Armin, no one's asking him how to do nothing, everything's happening around him, and they turn him into a nuke, which he refused, he absolutely is not gonna use. Like because he's Armin. So like so he has even less he like he he we thought he got so much like status of power, but he actually lost so much agency moving into his last season.
SPEAKER_11But you know what? Like why don't you bring that up? I think that's kind of my one of my answers to the first question about our expectations for the season. The direction that Aaron went, I actually expected Armin to go somewhat in that direction. Like I expected a degree of change in Armin, having had this new weight or new expectation thrusted upon him because now it's not because it was like it's not even Armin was, you know, wholly ready to die at the point. Like he gave up his own life. Um and Armin will die for peace. But now Armin, Armin's life was given back to him for instead of someone who was more tactically experienced than he was, yeah, um, and more capable than he was. Um you know, and generally speaking, for all exposures more powerful than he was, and able to use this actual use this nuke that he was given. And so having all that pressure, I wanted I what I wanted was all of that pressure put on him and had those expectations that he put mostly put on himself, especially after realizing that they didn't want him to live in the first place. Like they had to fight. They had there was a whole there was about to be a real battle, and Mikasa would have lost that fight against Levi. You know what?
SPEAKER_05Wait, all tens and purposes, I want to see that damn fight. Um I know they're on the same side, but I think that being never see that fight because we need both of them.
SPEAKER_06I know we can't have cousins fighting.
SPEAKER_11We need them. Honestly, I think the only reason Levi will win because Nikasa's in love, and Levi ain't got time for that shit.
SPEAKER_05So going back to first reactions though, I honestly went to the end of it. Like, I honestly thought Armin and Mikasa were just gonna go ahead and follow Aaron since that's you know been the trend mostly. I thought they were gonna follow him literally through the whole Jaegers, they were gonna flip, they were secret agents, whatever. Like, I thought they were gonna be by his side the whole time, but it seems like they're kind of like, wait a minute, they're like cautious and thinking.
SPEAKER_08I don't not the way I don't 100% agree.
SPEAKER_06I I would like to say y'all basic as fuck, no, exactly.
SPEAKER_08Like that's what I was gonna say.
SPEAKER_06Like basic bitches.
SPEAKER_08I think if they were going, like I think at that sit-down meeting, had he said, I really need you guys to help me, I think 100% you're right. They would have followed after him and they would have done what he said, especially because of you know, I'd repeat that absolutely right, but because he pretty much was like, nah, bruh, like y'all, y'all are weak, like y'all, y'all, y'all can't y'all y'all still live in a slave mentality.
SPEAKER_11Y'all still live in slave.
SPEAKER_08Don't do that, don't stop it. We talked about this.
SPEAKER_05Y'all sitting over here still trying to be slaves, and I'm trying to get free.
SPEAKER_03Too well, too well, yeah. Free free steril free sterilization. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'll put that on.
SPEAKER_03Uh honestly, that that that moment, that real that moment really smacked of that the whole um, I'm taking I'm taking on the burden, um, I'm gonna have to do some fucked up shit, and I don't want y'all to have to dirty your hands, so I'm gonna distance myself, you know, away from you, you know, in the best way I knew how. Yeah, he was way he was way more harsh than usually people are. I was I was I was ready to I was ready to shoot to shoot that nigga in the head.
SPEAKER_05I was how I was like, how dare you speak to me so that way?
SPEAKER_11Dare you know how many times these bitches have saved your life?
SPEAKER_03Exactly, exactly yeah, because nigga, because you had uh over a hundred episodes of being ain't shit, yeah. Like like nigga, you were fucking worthless, like and and and you and you couldn't even control your titan where these other bitches were controlling their titans at age 12. Yeah, and even and even and even and even as well. When he did though, no, oh and when and when he did, he's still behind Levi as the strongest thing they have. The that's him and Zeke's survival as is both that that's the weirdest thing about all this because Levi could kill off both of them niggas, they can fight together and they will still die. The story just has to keep putting Levi somewhere else else, yeah. Giving him reasons to keep letting these niggas live and keep fucking up, and he keep you know, and it's like mmm, it's for the people for the best. Levi's like uh man, Irwin. If you was here, man, because Levi could have ended all this at any point, he could have walked in at any point of insurrection, all them niggas been dead, every single one.
SPEAKER_11Yep, because when Levi found out, he was like, excuse me.
SPEAKER_03Right, and didn't get Titan rain on Levi. You like you think I would have killed my own people?
SPEAKER_01Right, I killed my people every day, nigga.
SPEAKER_04You dropped me 50 frames on me, man.
SPEAKER_01Why are you here in front of me?
SPEAKER_06My mother turned around like, oh shit.
SPEAKER_03Levi is obviously Freddie Kruger because Zeke keeps sleeping on this nigga over and over and over again, over and over even even during the fight, it was all this chaos and explosions and fucking air fighting. And peak and peak was staying right next to Zeke, and it was like, watch out for Levi. No, he knew, but he wasn't more careful enough. True. He's paying attention to other shit. He he should have had a whole garrison of niggas around him. Right, he should have had his back to a wall.
SPEAKER_08I mean, he had the the the jaw titan was supposed to have his back, his six, and the jaw titan looked away, and then that's what happened.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. Him too.
SPEAKER_08He had the garrison, he had the this person, that person, the uh the car titan was in front of him, jaw titans behind him. He had the people, but the people the people didn't know. Zeke knew, but the people didn't know. That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_03No, no, no, but no, because Zeke, when Zeke still got hit, there was too much surprise in his face. He should have known when he got when he got put on.
SPEAKER_08I think it was how he got hit. I don't think he was surprised. I think he was surprised by how he got hit.
SPEAKER_02I'm I'm saying he got his ass whooped in two seconds. He did. There wasn't a chance.
SPEAKER_11No, but in hindsight, what blows me is that Zeke thought that throwing a bunch of Titans at Levi was going to take him down when the reason that Levi got so close to him in the first place is because he took down Titans one by one before he got to his big ass. And for some reason, you thought throwing a bunch more at him was gonna solve the problem.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I mean, that was a that was a moral thing. He thought he thought he would hesitate to fight.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because these were his comrades.
SPEAKER_11I mean, but you know that they know they've been killing their people for ages.
SPEAKER_08It's not the same. That's what I was saying before. There's there's there's a specific mentality of the people in Marley where they don't understand the shit that goes on on this island. Like, niggas fight titans on the daily, we cut these niggas up with swords, like we just switched over to guns. Like, this is what we do. Like, we we cook, we clean, we eat a titan. I mean, fuck up a titan, and then we go and put our bed the kids to bed.
SPEAKER_11Like, this is what we do on the island, and the fact that you know what the only reason we don't eat titans is because they dissolve.
unknownExactly.
SPEAKER_08You know what? That was the first thing I said when that show was on. I was like, Y'all say y'all hungry? Y'all gotta be a lot of meat. Oh, they dry up. Okay, I get it. That's a big ass. That's a problem.
SPEAKER_11Oh, we can eat these, and like, oh no, the meat dissolves as soon as it's got like as soon as the titan meat is gone, like it's gone. It's no more. We can't eat it. So I'm like, damn.
SPEAKER_08That's livestock.
SPEAKER_05Hello. Did y'all did y'all remember the scene with the jaw titan, and he was shocked that all of the Paradise Island people were coming at him? Yeah, talking to the thing.
SPEAKER_08He's like, I'm a Titan. What are you doing? Uh his eyes alone.
SPEAKER_05I need that in the phrase.
SPEAKER_08That's just that's the whole scene.
SPEAKER_01The whole thing.
SPEAKER_08Don't you know I'm a Titan?
SPEAKER_01You know, that was one of those scenes where Brandon was talking about the eyes and all the things.
SPEAKER_00Yes.
SPEAKER_01You know, that was one of those scenes.
SPEAKER_10I keep saying that there are certain scenes that the anime does so well that you just don't get it from the mega. Like the emotion that they showed out of that man's face.
SPEAKER_08The fear, the confusion, the the the embarrassment, all of it.
SPEAKER_10Like the manga did not give me the same amount of like of emotion that I got of fear. Like that he fixed himself in that time. Like he's like, his mouth no longer works, but he realized that they didn't use it. And it was like, even if it's not even just the look at his face, but the look of those fucks in their face. When you see the guy, it's like this looking like this. He was just like so much.
SPEAKER_08Like he wasn't ready.
SPEAKER_04I bet you that was the first time since he started his training.
SPEAKER_10I had made really like it's cool when everybody thinks you the shit. And then moments later he was a fan opener.
SPEAKER_08Like that whole fight was embarrassing for him. No, that shit was funny as hell.
SPEAKER_06Can we talk about how the the uh the hammer joke was definitely the the mom from uh from uh bombers never left?
SPEAKER_03Isabella would have had a Isabella would have had a better plan of attack.
SPEAKER_01Okay, don't Isabella would have been ready. She would have been ready to be able to do it.
SPEAKER_06Isabella would have been ready, my face would have been ready, but that shit was so funny how she looked just like her. I said, oh, oh wait a minute.
SPEAKER_10That's another one. It's like did anybody notice the look of oh shit, I made a mistake in her face too.
SPEAKER_04When the when the when the when the sun popped up and then realized what we're just like, oh shit.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, she was completely stoic, completely when your last words are any last words.
SPEAKER_08So last question, and I want to keep it like a couple of words. We have come a long way to the ending of the first half of the final season of Attack All Titans, almost 10 years later, right? So I think about six or seven or eight. So, what are your expectations into the final half of the final season? Granted, you're gonna be waiting almost two years for it, and I'm sure your anticipation will change if they release an OVA or a movie or something else, unless you've already read the manga, of course. But what are your final anticipations? What are your final expectations? What do you think is going to happen at the end of this series? And if you could do it in a couple of words, and we will start with the Black McCoy.
SPEAKER_11So I think that they kind of showed us what a semblance of what might happen. So that in the in the um in the intro for this season, when they have like the statue of all the titans, and you see like Aaron at the top, and everything's like in the statue form. I think that might be part of what ends up happening. Like he might consume all the titans, or like there's something that's gonna happen with a bunch of titans, and he is going to just turn all of them into all everything into a statue, and in or at the very least, in the nine titans, right then and there.
SPEAKER_08Alan Klain.
SPEAKER_02I think he he's gonna gain a lot of power through the manipulation of having all the titans. That like having having the ability to could just to control titans, I think there's more to the founding titan than that. I think we can go deeper. We know that. Just don't know yet.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. I was about to say that's what Kaze's been saying. It's like it's literally like a Thanos slap. Snap.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, it was like memory manipulation. The the controller gener generate there was a plague. He was like, no, he either snapped the plague away. Snap the memory of the plague.
SPEAKER_02That's it. So we're gonna see. And there's a lot of I really want to see the backstories of the people who had the titans that came before them to see how all the memories line up. I hope they explain that. Like how all the memories line up and it moved towards where it is now. Even back to when like this the everyone was subject of a mirror when she first got her powers. Like that, that what happened? How did she get it? The real story, not just this biblical tale in a fairy book, like what actually happened.
SPEAKER_08Right. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Um I don't know. I'm uh the uh one no, you said a few words. Uh uh, I don't know. I'm looking I'm looking forward to them kicking it up another another level every season of the show as like kind of not not uh not only up the stakes but change but move completely move the goalpost to another planet and change what the stakes even mean. So I'm hoping that they can m maybe manage to do that one more time and and come to a better solution than they have because it's because again, this this whole Black Panther movement to nip nip ni nip your nuts cut your nuts off. I don't think that's it. All right, Bob Barker.
SPEAKER_05Uh I look forward to seeing all the stuff that in the manga, of course, play out in the anime just to see it on that grander scale. Um I look forward to a couple people's reactions. Um hopefully, you know, we'll get this in November, not January, like we're thinking. Um I just I just more so can't wait to to see the whole plan unfold. Because I know about it, but I didn't actually like look at it while he was flipping through. Um, so I look forward to seeing the whole plan unfold.
SPEAKER_10Part two is gonna be fire, nigga.
SPEAKER_08Like I don't think anybody has off the camera.
SPEAKER_10I really am because I look forward to seeing all that shit animated. I literally have not looked forward to an anime this much. It's like that tragic ass season B of uh fucking My Hero Game, the last one just came out that I thought was gonna be completely fire, but it wasn't. Fucking like because I like I said, all these I read megas because I look forward to what the animators are gonna do. And I'm telling you right now, I cannot fucking wait for this part two. That shit is gonna be so fire, it's ridiculous. Now, the one thing I will say is I do kind of wonder when I look at the date, because I'm trying to remember how like anime seasons work, because we might see this bitch in like November and like the end of November, beginning of December, just because of how the winter anime season works. The 2022's winter anime season might actually start in 2021. We might not have to wait that long. But you know, attack uh Studio Mapper usually knocks shit out like crazy. Like Studio Mappa is just putting out hits after hit, after hit, after hit, after hit.
SPEAKER_05We're just gonna shout out to everybody who was drawing, producing, because I know they took some heat at the beginning.
SPEAKER_00They did.
SPEAKER_04And I don't understand why. Like this piece of looked amazing.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, and it looked it looked amazing. They still stick into the story. So again, all the haters they did, you know, attacked them.
SPEAKER_02You're right. A lot of people dislike the 3D animation. They just like like it, it can be done better, but you know, it's new to the industry. It's something that just happened in what the last six years?
SPEAKER_10Yeah, there's not too many. There's not too many studios that have done that right. Like the only, like I say, the only anime I've seen where I'm like, I I can actually understand it and think it was done right was like Land of Lustrous. Um, who second no second no cruise.
SPEAKER_03Uh B Stars does it really well.
SPEAKER_10And B stars and B stars, you are correct. And B stars like that. DOT A LE DOPLEX. I haven't watched that yet. Dota, yeah, I haven't watched that yet.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was good. Yeah, did a good job. I think the real problem there is it's not that the technology is new, it's that we're not sharing notes.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, so it's kind of like it's kind of like how you got the fighting game community and how that whole thing works. But yeah, uh, move along with that with that. I'm really I think there's a lot of there's gonna be a lot that people find intriguing about it. And like I said, in the action scenes, not so much action scenes, just the story of all the twists and turns. I think it'll be incredibly enjoyable. I do look forward to seeing how it copes with Brotherhood because I'm still watching that fight.
SPEAKER_08Aurora your final thoughts or expectations for the second half of the final season.
SPEAKER_09Okay, so I think I think what my expectations are is that I I think that they're gonna I honestly do think they're gonna tell us about the switch there or that gap. And not and they even if they don't fill it in for everybody, they'll fill it in enough for him. So that by the time we get to the end of it, it's gonna be a full circle moment for all of us. Um, but also keep it in mind this is the first time where I started to realize like both sides are low-key and fucked up and wrong.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_09And I I'm nervous about where the ending is gonna go because I don't know whom else I should be fearful of losing because I no T no shade. The fact that they made it this far, I had no fucking idea that Gabby would have been the person to die.
SPEAKER_08Sasha?
SPEAKER_09I was I figured if someone would be one of like the the the less less characters that don't really bring that much to the storyline. Gabby was my heart.
SPEAKER_08Sasha, Sasha, Sasha.
SPEAKER_09Oh sorry, sorry not, Gabby, Sasha. Thank you. Sasha was my heart.
SPEAKER_08You're so mad at Gabby, you just keep saying her name.
SPEAKER_09I hate her, I really do. But I hope, I hope Gabby's friend doesn't die either because he I actually felt I was like, oh, he's learning. No, I don't want him to die. He's getting it, he's learning. And I was like, he did he was shot so hard. The stupid ass Gabby. I was like, you dumb bitch, you don't even realize you got a loyal nigga on your side. Right. But yeah, I hope that they're gonna bring a full circle. I'm scared of who we who at whom else we may lose characters because I didn't build such such a connection with these characters. I'm scared of who's gonna go. Um, I'm ready for uh Reinhardt. Oh, Reiner, Reiner. I'm ready for him, I'm ready for him to die. I'm sick of his shit. He needs a therapist, but I want him dead instead.
SPEAKER_11I mean, he tried to die at Marley, but they kept calling his damn name.
SPEAKER_00Why can't you just not be killed?
SPEAKER_09He tried to stand he couldn't take a bullet to the head if he wanted to go. He tried to kill himself like three times. He did the easiest ways. The when the ways he tried was a bit more needed to do. You could easily take a gun or slit his wrist and call it a day. He almost did. Remember, he had the gun in his mouth, he just he he pumped out.
SPEAKER_08Yeah. Okay, Miss Kittle.
SPEAKER_05Um, so I'm looking forward to shit just getting fucking real, man. Like, I'm just like I I can't wait for I can't wait for like everything to hit the fan. I can't wait for Aaron to to to absolve all the fucking titans. That's what's about to happen. I can't wait for Gabby to get popped the fuck off. I can't like it's I'm I'm just ready. I'm just excited and ready for all the shit to go down. Um, of course, I'm here for all the backstory because that shit interests me, but but um when it comes down to it, I'm ready for all this shit to like you know come to a head. Like, let's go. Let's go. That's that's where I'm at with this. But um, my my my favorite part will be when Gabby dies.
SPEAKER_08Wow. Uh the doctor, uh, have a question for you before we wrap up. So I know you've heard all of the stories and expectations and reactions and everything from the panelists. Um, I know you've seen some of, but not all of Attack on Titan. Um, based off of what we've said, are you interested in catching up and then finishing the anime uh uh when it comes out with the second part?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so I would say absolutely. And you know, I think when I start with Attack on Titan, I've seen like, you know, parts of season one, basically. And no, it was cool. Um, definitely like some of the action and some of the you know characters seem kind of interesting. Uh really good memes too, which is actually at the start. Um but you know, hearing especially about some of the things around like racism being a big dynamic amongst some of the characters, uh that makes me a lot more interested in it. So I really want to kind of go back in one and see what I missed from you know the over the season one season and then really catch up and keep going forward. So yeah, this was really important to me for me since you know I don't as you could probably guess given that I didn't say much, um, I don't know that much about Attack on Titan beyond some of the superficial stuff. So this made me a lot more intrigued about the series than I was before the start of this podcast.
SPEAKER_08Awesome sauce. Glad we could help. So, yes, and then of course, I'll just give mine really quick. My anticipation um is kind of everybody's combined. I am um excited to see the jump off. I'm excited to see uh how Aaron uh pays back the jawtouton because the fact that he tried to take him out with that whack ass copy of what he did back in Marley, that was whack. Um uh uh what uh uh Peak decides to do. Because I feel like Peak has like I we mentioned how smart she is or how cunning she may potentially be. I hope she has a plan C. Um, because you know, plan A and B didn't necessarily work the way she thought it was. Um I'm interested to see what exactly Marley's going to do with these airships. Um, because you know they're coming to parodies. Um, this really isn't how they're land, and they've only been everywhere else in the world, except for where not here where Titans roam. So it should be interesting. Um, because I really don't think they know what to do with Titans that aren't controlled by humans. So it should be interesting how that how that particular thing happens. Um I'm interested to see what Mikasa does. Uh, Mikasa uh has had her heart broken so many times. Um, I I I mean, I don't think she's gonna find love. I hope she does, but I don't think she's gonna find it. Uh because right now the only person is Aaron. And um Aaron has his mindset. I'm hoping that what Miss Skittle said about the fact that he has a higher thought process and maybe he's just trying to like spare her the heartache of losing somebody because he's he's literally about to end it all, be it all, right? Um, so I hope she finds something. Um I'm really sad for Armin. I really wanted Armin to like do more things in the world, but if he's a Titan as well, it's not about to happen either way. Uh because the only guy is also I don't want to know if it if they're actually sure that Titans only last a certain amount of years. Because although the Marlies Marlians were saying that, it's still like new information. I feel like the founding Titan can stop that shit. Anyway, that's one big thing that I want to find out. Don't smile at me, Mark. Don't you do it anyway? So we're gonna wrap up the episode and then uh let everybody you know give the keep that shit over there. We're gonna wrap up the episode.
