Welcome back to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast. Thank you for joining us this week, where we are returning to the Hands. Oh sorry, I said the backwards. Only Hands Fighting Tournament, Fighting Scene Tournament, where we bring to you the fighting scenes from different genres anime, live TV, movies, cartoons. We're here to count down to our final winner. We're into the next section of our bracket. I believe we're in the quarterfinals, where our panelists are going to decide exactly who's going to move on. But before we get into that, let's introduce our panelists, starting with myself, your moderator, Suchino Shogun. We have Kaze Shinryu. We have Lady Legacy. The Flames.
SPEAKER_12Been gone for a minute. Run back. I'm gonna bump out a hello, Kim Brad, but I was like, eh, something like that.
SPEAKER_02We have shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_06Wait, other side of what?
SPEAKER_04And one of my correspondents, the only correspondents, Hank, the black McCoy.
SPEAKER_05Can we hear?
SPEAKER_07Oh ha ha ha. Sorry, our budget dropped a little bit. Um, so you know, they they have a reporting off of uh an iPhone, you know, and you you start using these inferior devices, you start getting inferior sounds. So I um I I apologize uh for anything that might happen.
SPEAKER_12You are always up to the fight. You're just ready to fight. You just choose violence when you make it.
SPEAKER_05I'm sorry, I can't I can't hear you because the iPhone's going out. So uh yeah, you know, we're gonna proceed. We're gonna proceed.
SPEAKER_12I think that's the internet connection. I don't think that's the biophone, but okay.
SPEAKER_04All right, so we're gonna jump right back into it. If you are behind in terms of these particular brackets, go back and watch our first episode of the Only Hands tournament. But we're gonna move on with our quarterfinals. So we're gonna jump right in. Are you ready, panelists? The first round back in the live action fighting scene movie portion of our tournament. First bracket, first match, Ip Man, It Man versus the 10 Black Belts versus Drunkenmaster 2, Jackie Chan versus Ken Lo.
SPEAKER_16That's dirty. Damn. So why are you gonna do that? That's dirty.
SPEAKER_04I mean as I said in the last tournament, you did this to yourself.
SPEAKER_16That's dirty as shit.
SPEAKER_04So each of these fights, of course, are classics. I can't even say more than that. They they are uh institutionalized in terms of how creative the fight teams were, how choreographed the fight teams were, how uh skilled not only the martial artists, the stunt men, and the main character and star of each movie are in these scenes. So, which one is it going to be, panelist? Who are you going to choose? Starting with our sub-panelist for today, Joe Tsg.
SPEAKER_12Uh, it's been a while. Uh, I'm choosing IT man.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, IP for your IP addresses?
SPEAKER_12Yeah, let's go on IT man, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Uh any any particular reason why?
SPEAKER_12Mostly because for Drunken Master, I've uh I've never really taken those fight scenes seriously, although they're very well core choreographed. Meaning like they're just they're they're they're so fun.
SPEAKER_05So that is a real technique, though, isn't it? I mean they combine two of your favorite things, like fighting and liquor.
SPEAKER_12Okay, well, that's that was my food is my favorite.
SPEAKER_05I said I said two of I didn't say your absolute favorite.
SPEAKER_12Fine, if you want to get technical, but like I mean, uh I I think when it comes to like karate flicks, I they're already so campy in nature to a point that like I think just I managed a way.
SPEAKER_07Oh, see you said iPhone usage.
SPEAKER_12I'm not even on my iPhone, I'm on my laptop.
SPEAKER_04So moving on to our next panelist, we're gonna ask Kaze Shinriu. Which do you choose? If Man or Drunken Master? Two. Sorry.
SPEAKER_11Uh yeah, I'm gonna go with uh uh Yeah, yeah, I'm I'm I'm gonna be old ass man, I'm gonna go with uh Drunken Master. Uh it's the uh I feel like the uh there's a word I'm looking for, but I it's not quite coming to the story. But uh but yeah, drunk and master like as a as a whole just fits a bit better to me, whereas uh uh It man uh feels like more of a collection of uh smaller, cooler things and then just kind of like jammed together. Uh um and and it's and it's funny because while uh everything that Jackie Chan does is more performative, one of my favorite things about what the way Jackie Chan does is that he he uh he he he's he's react he's reacting to like his environment and all the people around him uh in a you know in a meaningful way. Like it's not you know, there's there's very rarely like some some asshole standing standing there waiting their turn to uh to swing at him. It's like if somebody's not doing something, it's because he's because he slid underneath the table and pushed the table between them, and then and then and then he can end it the dudes he got closer to, he he threw a base at him and they caught it. And like, you know, like it's it's like the one reason it has so much energy is because he's reacting to all the people in the room versus versus consecutive one-on-one fights when niggas are surrounding and supposed to get jumped. Um so yeah, Dragon Master for me.
SPEAKER_04All right. Next panelist, gonna have to turn it to Shample Bracelets. I I know you both had a specific feeling about either one of these movies when we previously went through the first bracket of this tournament. So, what is your feeling now that they're now pitted against one another? It man versus drunken master.
SPEAKER_00I'll always choose violence, which is the irony because this is all about violence. I love my day choosing violence. Um I don't get me wrong, I do love uh Drunken Master for all of his choreography, which is uh Oh, you chose Caucasian violence today.
SPEAKER_05Okay I see you chose Caucasian violence today. I see.
SPEAKER_12Once in a while, but like the that's not even happening.
SPEAKER_00I like Jackie Chan's choreography and a lot of his stuff, but like I said, but in this particular Ip Man was always like they made it, their fights were always had a visceral nature to them, and this one was more than most. Um and not to mention, it just looks I always like it when it's like one versus a mini, and the mini is fucking just getting wrecked, and then that whole honor system that like you sometimes see in uh karate flicks, where it's like or where it's like they're coming at them somewhat one at a time, and not just everybody just jump this motherfucker and get over it. So like so I always always like like how that worked, but I was always shocked that you know that they didn't just all jump kick him at the same time just trying to fuck his shit up. But uh but yeah, no, I'll I'll I'll I'll choose it man.
SPEAKER_04Two for it man, one for drunken master. We're gonna have to go to Talonflame and Cyana the Flames to see where the next vote is gonna come from.
SPEAKER_17I'm gonna have to go. We're gonna be split.
SPEAKER_16I'm good with Drunken Mastering for the fact that it was the the choreography is more realistic in the sense that you didn't stop to just hit one person in a fight, everybody went fucking gangbang, all you know, just like just hop on top of you, try to just fucking fuck you up. Jackie Chan a course of minutes he cascaded throughout an entire crowd of people to clear these motherfuckers out with his interesting technique at the time that I didn't even know about. And it was just so interesting because it gave me like this weird type of dancing fighting style that actually is real. And it was just so interesting because he was just using his entire environment to fight a whole squad of niggas. But for the cinematography, I would say I have to go with Jackie Chan, Drink and Master for sure.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, for me it was Int Man because like the intensity of the violence, you know what I'm saying? That's like it's like someone said before, it's kind of hard to take Jackie Chan serious all the time because it is funny and comedy at the same time.
SPEAKER_16But really fucks you up. Don't let that smile fool you, he'll fuck you all up.
SPEAKER_09After after I get like a whole bunch of licks in, but let me this is a family show. But it's like uh even the way he puts people down, it's it's nice and it it's pretty, but in real life, no, some people have to be put down permanently. When when it man started dislocating shoulders and hips, you ain't getting up after that. That problem is solved.
SPEAKER_16But they still don't kill. So Itman doesn't kill. I mean, he's not fatal, he'll fuck you up just like Jackie Chancellor. I don't agree with that. I don't agree with that. And plus also you have to go by the the time as well. When Jackie came out with Drunken Master versus Itman, those are two different times in cinematography, right? So the brutalness is going to be different as well. So you have to keep that also in consideration.
SPEAKER_09So you don't get jumped all at the same time. So it is nice that you know it's bullshit.
SPEAKER_16Like, nah, you won't jump a nigga, you gotta slap a whole bunch of crowd of niggas. You feel me?
SPEAKER_05Not knowing I mean, wasn't it man also like a culture war and an actual war at the same time? Exactly. That particular film has had a lot of different implications.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, it man was Jackie Chan's, not sorry, um, it was um Bruce Lee's um uh master, right?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, so yeah, so we we we split on that.
SPEAKER_16We're split. Yep, yep.
SPEAKER_04Not out of score these, ladies and gentlemen. So we're gonna go to Lady Legacy to see if we can score.
SPEAKER_18Hey, um me, right? Just me. Okay. Um Mo will say because I've been contemplating. I I'm gonna have to go with Jackie because it's you know, you can't beat the classics as much as it's like you know, is a classic, it's like he does give the work as much as you need the work, but you know I do like an elegant beatdown. It just, you know, my mood for today. So yeah, I do will go with Jackie Chan because the you know, he there's nobody that can do you know his style like that. I mean, you've seen it done in like others, yeah, but like you can't really say when you think of like a drunken, you know, type of skill set, you you would always go with a Jackie Chan. There's nobody because you can you can see the other places, but it's not the same. But yeah, the choreography and the cinematography is just you know, it gives classic, it gives all that.
SPEAKER_04So yeah, I'll go with Jackie Chan and then Bullright Show. Those are the two drunken masters. So Hank, uh we we we uh I believe we tried to switch out your Apple products for something more effective. Uh, do you have a do you have a say in this particular matchup?
SPEAKER_07Well, I do have my uh my my very well-powered Android LG on my hands, so you know uh things should be clearer now. But um, it's it sounds like you know, we're we're just drunk on power and on this end.
SPEAKER_05So we're gonna go with uh Jackie Chan for the drunken master fight. It was beautifully choreographed, it was hilarious, it was authentic, the way in which he you know really developed a fully formed and beautiful fighting scene based purely on what he had around at the time, even though it was a very high risk to his own life, particularly in that scene.
SPEAKER_07John, we're gonna um we're gonna roll on over, um, so to speak, into the the bar that is very high for a drunken master over it man's, you know, it almost almost there, but not particularly.
SPEAKER_04Yes. All right. So it seems we have a winner for this matchup, Drunken Master, Jackie Chan versus Ken Lowe.
SPEAKER_07So can we send some more Rona over to the studio, John?
SPEAKER_04You said more Rona? You you want more covet? No, no, no, more rum. More rum. More more rona. Okay, no problem. We can send a couple people with rona. I mean, I'm vaccinated, but more rum. Rum. Oh, rum, rum.
SPEAKER_09Come to the hospital work at. I see them niggas every day.
SPEAKER_04So gonna move on to the next matchup. Avengers endgame, the final battle. Avengers versus Thanos and his army versus Kill Bill Volume 1, The Bride versus the Crazy 88, and Oren Ishi E. These two matchups are literally war scenes. They literally go from a massive confrontation between two sides to the final battle between the leaders of each side. Which one are you really going to pick?
SPEAKER_07Let's not give Tony that much that much stock. You say what? Let's not give Tony that much stock. It was that was not well.
SPEAKER_04I wasn't talking about Tony, I was specifically talking about uh uh Captain America, Thor, and you know, Black Panther.
SPEAKER_07I mean, but they they started that off, um and they were still getting the answer.
SPEAKER_04You and your Thanos. So which are we gonna pick?
SPEAKER_02I'm always team cap.
SPEAKER_04Which one are we gonna pick? Which one is gonna win? Let's find out. Let's ask one of our panelists, starting with shampoo bracelets. You seem like you have a uh an answer, just right right on the tip of your tongue. Ladies and gentlemen, I believe they're deliberating.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it was a short deliberation.
SPEAKER_00Like I said last time, I choose fucking violence. So yeah, well, we killed Bill. Uh that that was just it was just too good of a fight. Don't get me wrong, like the in the in-game, uh not in-game, um, wait, was it in game? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it wasn't game.
SPEAKER_00I can't remember if it was in-game or if it was uh uh the other joint, the other day before it I can't remember right now. Infinity war? Infinity war, yeah. But um, but but no, it was yeah, in game was hype as hell, especially, but the most hype part, it was literally just one part, was Captain America got if you haven't seen the movie by that's your fucking fault. And Captain America got Thor's Hammer. That was the literally the hypest part of the whole shit. Uh it was one of the hypest parts. Well, I mean, okay, there was other there was other good moments, but then ladies' night was hype.
SPEAKER_04That was hype.
SPEAKER_00Star Wars did it better.
SPEAKER_05Ooh, did they Star Wars has a lot of things that can do better than that?
SPEAKER_00I'm talking about, I'm talking, I'm talking about uh uh was it?
SPEAKER_05Um Yeah, the boys did too.
SPEAKER_00Mandaloria did it way better than Toka. No, that was Token the other part when they went into the okay. But um, but yeah, so yeah, like I said, nah, it was I I choose violence. Kill Bill just did it so absolutely great. Even the way they had her fight the crowd was fucking awesome. And then the fight between her and um was just great as well. Like there was a lot of hype moments for that fight that still holds up against media fight today. And the only other things that I can even think of, someone that compete, only other fights I can think of with big groups like that, is like the raid. And that was like, so it's like that's why I was like, it's it hits different to me. That was just, I mean, yeah, it was a cool war in the end game, but that was a two-wheel game better. It was a cool war.
SPEAKER_02Only somebody who chooses violence could say that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was a cool war. You know, it's the by it's the violence towards white women for me.
SPEAKER_18It's cute.
SPEAKER_02It was cute.
SPEAKER_00I'll give it this for something that came out of Disney, yeah. That was cute.
SPEAKER_02Let's not do this. Let's not do this.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. Um so moving on. Uh uh uh Hank, uh so our shampoo bracelets seem to have brought up some very definitive coins.
SPEAKER_07Uh uh definitive is a very, very, very dominant word, John.
SPEAKER_04Disagree, agree?
SPEAKER_07Uh entirely, entirely.
SPEAKER_04Entirely disagree or agree? Entirely disagree, John. So so who between the two do you think should win this match?
SPEAKER_07Oh, absolutely. It's in-game without a question. Let's let's let's be perfectly honest, John. As much as I adore um Lucy Lou and Uma Thurman, she just barely skates by because she's in one of my favorite Fallout Boy songs, nonetheless. Um if we're comparing Battlefield, there is there is nothing that has come, has reached the pinnacle, as well as the the degree of not simply you know diversity inclusion, but as well as you know, very genuine um malicious intent, as well as uh a beautiful array of what's the I don't even know if I had the words, um the this like kind of almost whole gritutinous inclusion of everything that the Avengers have stood for throughout all of the movies, even an intro using the the film itself as an introduction of things that we have yet to see or that we've been anticipating for for years, for years, and has only continued to build upon that to say, you know, we're not done. We still have more for you. We still have so much more, so so much more. And somehow, somehow, continue to manage, can has continued and trying to wow and you know, just uh just oh my god, just overwhelm us with how amazing their products and their creators actually are when it comes to planning these kinds of major events as far as cinematic. I'm sorry, I'm just I'm trying to pull, I'm trying to pull together charts.
SPEAKER_19Do you do you do you need some time, Hank? Do you have any other connections?
SPEAKER_12What's going on?
SPEAKER_19It's going to end game, it's going to end game time. Okay. Thank you. Um, I think we need to um uh I think we need to call uh maybe want to send somebody down there uh because uh Hank's having a having a moment.
SPEAKER_04Uh yeah. Thank you, Hank. So from Hank the Black McCoy over to two individuals having a fight scene in their own kitchen, talonflame and the Phoenix Sione.
SPEAKER_16Hello there. We were, you know, as you saw, we had some battling of our own we had to tend to.
SPEAKER_06As long as as long as it was in the kitchen and not in the bedroom, John.
SPEAKER_16Well, it was leading to the bedroom, you know.
SPEAKER_04Uh the bullet.
SPEAKER_11This is a bullet show. This is a penal show, okay, in front of my family.
SPEAKER_07This is a we have no lights. We're not gonna do this. You're not gonna do this on a syndicated podcast, okay?
SPEAKER_01All right, bring it into existence.
SPEAKER_04All right, talent playing, Sione. We have Avengers Endgame versus Kill Bill Volume One, Crazy 88 versus the Bride. Uh, like I said before, these two are massive matches, matchups. Um, and they they kind of cover some of the point, talking points from the previous matchup about you know, waiting your turn slash fighting all at once, uh, different abilities, different powers, different skill sets, uh, different towering figures down to individual children who should be at home with their mother. Who do you think between the two should win this matchup?
SPEAKER_16For me, it was very quick. It was Kill Bill for me. So uh very quick for me, because not only is Kill Bill a classic, it was an entire orchestra of beat downs. You had a full five, 10-course meal of different ways to get fucked up. And I loved it. I was here for it. You had Gogo with the ball in the chain, you had the crazy 88s, you had Oren E GE, you had everybody, you had the whole squad against this pissed-off Caucasian lady in yellow jumpsuit. Like that shit is some wild shit, and I was here for it. Like when you are so badass, you have to go from color to fucking black and white bitches. Like you can have a lot of people. I mean that sounds really fun. All these The ninja scroll, you know, back in the day anime where there was this blood spewing everywhere. And now you're bringing that to life, and you're just seeing blood like fucking waterproof all over the place. I lost my mind. Like I went, I was like maybe what, 11 years old. My mother brought me into the movie theater. And she saw, well, when I got her, she saw a bit of a fox.
SPEAKER_14I'm like, I love biblical fox. That's a cool. And she started right now.
SPEAKER_16And she lost that motherfucker fighting though. Right when I was on the steps, she's about to take them out of the movie theater because it was that badass. And it was just a thing.
SPEAKER_14When it came to the rewards, I don't know, let me let me talk about the view.
SPEAKER_15Let me speak all about this.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, anyway, like I was saying, but it's gonna go to the colour.
SPEAKER_03That's exactly what it looked like.
SPEAKER_09You know, so those are infinite boys for me because I'm like, I'm a big ass nerd. So I was probably nine when this shit came out. She's a little bit older than me. So I was I was nine when this shit came out, and I thought it was cool. But when looking back in the comic book, seeing Captain America get that hammer, yo, breathtaking. The uppercut with the hammer, even more. And seeing the whole war, Prince the Charlotte, everybody come out, that was amazing. Like a whole war was versus an angry Caucasian lady with a sword. Like, I don't know. Caucasian lady with a sword.
SPEAKER_07A white camera with a katana.
SPEAKER_09That's what I'm saying. It don't matter.
SPEAKER_16It does matter, nigga. A brock one of Katana the same bitch. Come on now.
SPEAKER_09I know, but I was not worried about this.
SPEAKER_16You choose a violence today, my nigga.
SPEAKER_09Definitely. No, I'm choosing I'm choosing comic books over Caucasian violence. They know what this flat crack is swinging sword. No, no, no. Shape like gumbies.
SPEAKER_15Don't bother shape my hair, Tom. Don't bother feeling here.
SPEAKER_09Oh, okay. I'm gonna take it back. But she is flat.
SPEAKER_15Nigga, she's gonna be a little bit more.
SPEAKER_03I'm trying to grab the wheel and flat one.
SPEAKER_11I'll remove the judgment and make an observation. Please take it.
SPEAKER_10I'll say that's a talent flavor.
SPEAKER_04I know.
SPEAKER_11Grab the wheel. Oh lord. Uh uh in a in a few words, in a few words, uh, on on your left.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, it's on your left.
SPEAKER_11Like, you know, it's the it's it's the it's just like the 10 plus years in the making for me. It's the you know, seeing seeing seeing the uh this interpretation of the comics, like, you know, breath into breathing to like, you know, the real life, just like, you know, it's seeing like all the different you know, settings like behind uh Doctor Stranger's uh portals as they came in, so you knew where they was coming from and what the fuck they was fighting for. It's the you know, it's it's the power, it's the stakes. Uh it's the it's so many. You could have cut you could have cut that bitch into three. Yeah, and it could have, it was so many different scenes on top of top of each other, like, you know, and it was and and you know, and and and and it and it was and and all them niggas like had their own shit they was fighting for. It was just like all the all the feels. Like it was it's it's one of those things, like it was it's this automatic goosebumps. It's all as soon as you put that bitch on, it's just it's it's this it's just all the order things for me. Um but you know, kill killbills uh killbills amazing. Uh I think what it I think what it really it really really comes down to is uh uh not not not not taking anything away from that average looking white woman.
SPEAKER_01Oh like she was she she went on her journey.
SPEAKER_11I was you know, I took her hand, I went for a ride. I was uh I was I was there with her. Pineapples. Uh I thought, you know, I I th I I thought it was uh you know, I th I I thought I thought it was interesting someone used the word you know predictable because the name of the movie is Kill Bill. We hadn't we hadn't seen that nigga yet. Yeah. So uh so some so that she was gonna be okay. That that that in the hue of her skin. Um but uh and and and honestly, and when we get down to it, uh uh again, not taking anything away from Uma uh uh she she she only was so good. Like that is that that is uh that is shots, that is uh great directing, that is um fantastic music. That is uh you know, and she she she making them faces, you believe her, that's they they they zooming in. They not they not looking at her form because it's not there. She would try to strike one little pose and then they but they but they playing with the camera because she ain't doing that much. Uh you know, I'm just I'm just saying, like, you know, we ain't we we ain't like that nigga uh uh Iron Fist, but if uh but if Tarantino was behind a camera, uh then that nigga would appreciate a lot more, I'm just saying. So but yes, uh uh yeah, I'm gonna go with uh in game.
SPEAKER_04All right. Now let's move over to somebody who chooses violence on every other day, or maybe every given Sunday. Joe Tsg.
SPEAKER_12I'm going with Avengers. Oh, I don't know, that was quick. I I don't like Kill Bill. No, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's true. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07I mean, that's one of the few films that Quentin Tarantino has where he doesn't say an ex doesn't say nigger with a hearty ones.
SPEAKER_12I don't like Tarantino films in general, so I don't there's never been a movie that Quentin Tarantino has made that I thought she enjoys watching. Um and 2003 was just a bad year for movies, I think. Yeah, Hope, Daredevil, the week of extraordinary gentlemen, KB.
SPEAKER_07I mean, personally, I find Tarantino's film style to be pretty obnoxious and intentionally kind of uh self-indulgent, but it reminds me of like a Michael Bay film.
SPEAKER_12That's pretty accurate.
SPEAKER_05It's like a Michael Bay film, but someone who pretends to read books.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, and it works great in a comic book, but in in a in a film, I I don't care for the whole black and white, but there's like color in there. I don't care if it wants anything like that.
SPEAKER_07And then it's only like a g like it's like, oh, this is work of like genius, and then the people who say that are mostly incels and like other white people. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. I said pick one, not bash the film. All right.
SPEAKER_05So we're not bashing the film, we're bashing the director, but go on.
SPEAKER_04So we don't really need to, but Lady Legacy, did you want to give your vote as well?
SPEAKER_18Um, I want to thank all of you for making my day better. Um I don't know if you saw me in my little panel. I literally had tears running down my face. Um, from the white woman to the hue of her skin. I couldn't. Um and the Goldilocks thing took me the fuck out. It did. It did. It just, it did. But to my boat, uh, it's it has to be end game because it's just uh just it was just a long time coming. I I mainly love it because of the uh studio audience, not studio audience, the audio audience, uh no, the actual like being in the theater and having everybody that had the same experience that I did, like come up in the uproar. Yo, one of the best, you know, reaction. The gate they still play that, but uh yeah, I'd say endgame because it's just a classic, and you know, yeah, but not taken away from you know Um Thurman and you know Killbill still love it because peeled that cap off and it was just it was cool, but I just have to go with somebody that's been with me for like a decade, you know. So yeah, thank you.
SPEAKER_04All right, Avengers endgame moves on. So now we're in the next bracket, we're in the anime bracket once again, and now we have to determine which anime to anime are gonna move on to the semifinals.
SPEAKER_12So we're gonna choose first matchup state, state, stay, state stay, yes, fate stay stay. Thank you.
SPEAKER_04Fate stay berserker versus alter versus Demon Slayer for you versus Tanjiro.
SPEAKER_12Oh, you niggas chose violence. Oh, I see. Yes, okay, great. This is an easy choice for me though.
SPEAKER_04So we're going to start with Kaze Shinryu. Wow. As one of our anime, I think you can better serve us in leading off the count for what direction this particular matchup should go.
SPEAKER_12So Demon Slayer, Fate Stay.
SPEAKER_04Which do you choose?
SPEAKER_11Uh I mean, you know, there's uh I I have a lot of faults. And uh one of them, one of them is the fact that uh I am uh loyal. And uh so I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna go with my uh main bitch face. Uh very loyal. Uh you know, Demon Slayer. Uh that was a fan a lovely fight, the fan fantastic moment. Uh but uh I think I think what it really comes down to is like the Demon Slayer was uh was was the culmination of that moment. Whereas I felt like the uh the fake state fight, the the whole fight was that moment. The the the the entire fight is is is so many other people's end of anime fight or you know or or or shitting on them uh casually. Um and uh and and and you know But we're not King Shaming. You know, and you know, and part of you know and part of it uh is uh you know any again, it's uh you know, that's a combination of uh like you know his journey where he's at. But um I'm always like if you want this is a fighting tournament and these are two of the people two of the best people who've ever done it, versus you know, some nigga who just picked up a sword. So yeah, it's gonna be uh fake for me.
SPEAKER_04Alright. From one who understands anime to someone who doesn't watch it all the time. We're circling back to Lady Legacy Fate Stay or Demon Slayer.
SPEAKER_18Motherfucker, oh gosh. Um you saw my heart was not in that real quick. Um if my recollection does play me correctly, I do play you correctly. Um I'm gonna go with um fate today, mainly because I do like the actual graphics of it, and that the Demon Slayer wasn't good graphically, especially with like uh you know the lady with the uh webs and whatever have you, but the actual like pop of color when it came to like playing the actual fighting scene, seeing the reaction of all of you guys, like the first round and seeing how well came to pass with that fighting scene. I thought it was really good, really, really well done. Not taking away for Demon Slayer, but it just it was very good, especially with like the nuance of every color and how it mixed in with like especially expressing the power that each person had, or whatever not person, but you know, creature, right? And then uh I'm gonna go with uh fate stay.
SPEAKER_04Thank you, thank you. Shampoo bracelets. I know you both have an opinion on this these two particular anime, specifically one maybe over the other. But let's see if we're surprised to see what your answer would be to who should win this matchup between Demon Slayer and Fates Day.
SPEAKER_16I hardly want to be petty and and go with Fate's Day because you know Demon Slayer was chosen over Jupin 2.
SPEAKER_00Oh, we're gonna go though.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, we're going with uh um we might need your nursing skills, it seems like someone has high cholesterol.
SPEAKER_16I I'm uh we're gonna be petty. Um we're gonna go with fake state for that one.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, to be honest, um, I gotta piggyzag off what Kaze said like that. I like the fight in Demon Slayer. I thought it was a good combination, especially at the moment of that's uh in that story. But um, in the end of the day, it was literally just the rest of the fight was was cool, and then that moment was extravagant as shit. It was just like a big difference between a second before and then that very moment. Where the whole fight in uh of Berserk versus um uh shit, I can't remember the name of that. But um that whole fight was Sabre Altered. Huh? Sabre altered, saber, yeah, saber altered. That whole fight is a visual, like literally, I want to say it's like a visual extravaganza of just beauty and art, lights, color. Like it's just like for all the dark that that takes up the two people involved in the fight, that you have all the light on the complete fucking eclectic light show that's that's going on throughout the whole shit, is just really, really good for anybody who's visual whore.
SPEAKER_16Well, yeah, I will upgrade when I when you say visually that anime and that particular fight scene was amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that that was like oh, like that. I've I've I I picked against it the last battle, but I'm not gonna deny that fight is fucking gorgeous. Right, so yeah, so you know you say so. Yeah, for that reason, I'm gonna go with fate.
SPEAKER_04Okay, we have three votes for fate's day. Doesn't mean that it's officially won, it can still be overturned by the other three panelists. So we're gonna go to wait, I'm sorry. Sounds like Hank is indisposed, but we do happen to have Professor Hank McCoy. Not to be associated with Hank Pym, not to be associated with the Black McCoy, but Professor Hank McCoy is actually on the line and has some insight to which one of these two matchups can potentially work. Uh, Professor Hank, are you there?
SPEAKER_07I am, I am. Um, just finishing up my uh my uh my fifth degree today.
SPEAKER_04Um thank you.
SPEAKER_07No, no, no problem. You know, I mean they just they come one after another at a certain point. It's not as though they truly are.
SPEAKER_04Just thank you for thanking you for giving us your time. I know you know you have plenty of experiments, plenty of thide to work on.
SPEAKER_07Um I mean, I'm actually supposed to go on Earth 324 right now, but I decided to pop in.
SPEAKER_04Ah, that's I'm honored. Thank you. Uh, I'm sure all of our panelists are as well. Uh so uh these two matchups, uh I know you've heard of them. I know you've uh uh uh been uh updated on it. I'm I'm sure you've gone back in time and watched it when it actually happened. Uh, but uh these two anime, Fate State versus Demon Slayer, which two do you believe should win?
SPEAKER_07Well, as I continue to analyze the various um fight scenes that you presented to me prior to this panel, um one of the things that I noticed is that the fate the fate fight scenes were absolutely gorgeous. There is so much at stake here, um, particularly in these two fight scenes. However, there there seems to be more at stake when you start to truly examine the Damien Slayer fights. And so although majority of the votes thus far have definitely taken into account the fact that there is a much more aesthetically pleasing aspect when it comes to the Demon Slayer show, there is uh there's a much more romantic um thing. There are much more romantic themes at play when we start to examine the um the Demon Slayer, um, the Demon Slayer fight scenes. And that's not simply because you know it's it's a it's a battle of families and ideals and so on and so forth, but it's more so that the fights thus far have you know really gotten by on the merit of how beautiful they are. However, but it's it's time for us to truly examine the truth behind the fights as they've occurred. Now, there are always going to be fight scenes that look the way they do when you start to examine um fate to face series, correct? But when you really start to invest yourself in the idea that there's something much more uh poignant to be uh um sort of looking for um consumed in the vestiges of the various you know parts of the story, not simply just the fight scenes that um in which they kind of manifest themselves, but the overall um the overall kind of forthcoming or kind of the overall um what's the the proper word I'm looking for? Please forgive me. Um I'm I'm I'm struggling with uh mutant right now. Um the overall um hmm. Sorry, sorry, I'm my body switched for a moment. Um the overall kind of you know, I wish I had the word. I wish I did, I wish I really had the words, but for some reason I just can't ride it. Nonetheless, my my vote goes to Demon Slayer. My vote goes to Demon Slayer majority because there is uh a philosophical battle that's happening, not just a physical one. And overall, we the this podcast has seemed to evolve past the point of uh more visual aids and has to take into account the intellectual and psychoanalytic ones that are taking place.
SPEAKER_16Go in a fight, go with that physical though. Thank you.
SPEAKER_04Thank you for that analysis and that uh that uh synopsis uh uh of the uh of the details behind both of the fight scenes. I think uh our not only our listeners, but our panelists can definitely take each of those talking points into consideration. And um, maybe they'll even decide to you know turn and twist their uh choices to maybe the other side. Um so now that you've given your synopsis, let's see what Talonflame and Sayone who are uh uh cooking up in their kitchen, uh let's see what they're cooking up as it pertains to the winner of this match.
SPEAKER_16Um I would say Damon Slayer was beautiful. It, you know, like Professor Hank said, it was more you know, psychological. You had both psychological and physical, um, but we're going by specifically just the fight scenes and just the fight scene alone, and I'm a person that doesn't. Watch like Fate's Day, so I'm going by unbiased opinion. He does, but I don't. I have to say, Fates Day, it was insane. Like when I watched it, you know, you you're given all of the everything that I've I've ever wanted in a fight scene. You have the visual visuals, you have the Christmas, you have the colors, the hues, the artistry, the choreography of the violence was just spectacular. And yes, Demon Slayer gave us that, but if you're going by just the fight scene, nothing else, I have to go with um Fate's Day. It was, I've never, it was like a final boss. And I've never seen no shit like that.
SPEAKER_09I was like the small details of her face, even though it's covered. Yeah, it was as she's fighting.
SPEAKER_16Insane.
SPEAKER_09Like the transitions between each scene and power being demonstrated compared to both animes, it demonstrates almost looks clumsy compared to it.
SPEAKER_16I think because of the fight, I think because of the cutscenes, because with the cutscenes, you you go back and you see a little bit of the history during you know the fight scene, which a lot of animes do that, but I've never personally seen like a fight scene like Fates Day night, just constant back-to-back-to-back trauma. Like, and it was beautiful. So I have to unfortunately go with Fate's Day because it was just it was just so spectacular.
SPEAKER_04All right. Uh, we have our winner for this matchup. Uh, Joe Tsg. Did you want to give a solution? No, all right. So we're gonna move on to our next matchup. Why? Because Fate's Day moves on. In our final matchup within this particular anime bracket, we have these two anime and fight scenes. Up first, Bleach, Okiorta versus Ichigo versus Hunter X Hunter, Metterim versus Netero. Now, I know a assortment of our panelists are lack of better words, Hunter X Hunter stands. Also, I know that several of our panelists take Bleach back to their high school and collegiate days, where it's very close to their heart, and they follow the anime to a T, anime andor manga.
SPEAKER_06So the time was wasted.
SPEAKER_04So I'm going to have to ask each and every one of our panelists this tough question: which one of these fight scenes stands up to the other? Starting with Joe Tsg, Hunter X Hunter versus Bleach. Not the animes, but the fight scenes.
SPEAKER_12Hunter Hunter.
SPEAKER_04Hunter X Hunter. Easy? Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
SPEAKER_12I have nothing else to say.
SPEAKER_04Ah, all right. Talent flame and Sione. We know you just finished your explanation of the previous fight, but we wanted to really quickly see Bleach versus Hunter X Hunter.
SPEAKER_09Wait, wait, tell them to pass us.
SPEAKER_16Uh, can you pass us for like one second?
SPEAKER_09Because we were like doing some she's not really too familiar with no, I've watched it, but it's I'm trying because it I haven't seen it in such a long time.
SPEAKER_16I want to just make sure again that I'm not tripping, saying bleach first. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_09Because we are bigger bleach fans.
SPEAKER_16I'm a huge bleach.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, so just so I mean everybody likes Clorox. I mean, given everything that we've all gone through.
SPEAKER_15Just give me like what's passing me. Come back to us, we'll come back.
SPEAKER_04So coming back, we're gonna circle back. We're gonna ask again the anime aficionado, Kaze Shinryu. You've watched both of these anime to a T, I believe you've watched every single episode of both. So you, amongst all of our panelists, would definitely be one being more unfortunate than others, would definitely be able to give us an accurate answer as to between these two fight scenes, not the entire breadth or or body of work of both animes, but specifically Ichigo and Ukiora versus Medarum and uh Netero. Which one of these two fight scenes are the one is the one that should move on to the next round?
SPEAKER_11This is uh slightly physical pain, physically painful. Emotionally tied to the uh to the leaf fight thing. That was uh that was that was definitely back uh back in our younger glory days and uh that was definitely one of the first times like uh you know you know you don't you don't you don't see uh you know uh shoning like protagonists uh like really go the fuck off like that. Um that was that was definitely not you know that's not the first time it happened. But uh but uh the the flirt, the way Dwayne went off, the flourish, uh Okiar is definitely one of the most uh interesting uh characters in the show. Yeah, that that that fight that fight definitely uh means a lot. But Maron? Yeah, and that that fight was uh it was a word art. It was uh it was uh the ideologies at work, like like like you know, some some somebody who who believed they were you know good enough to not really have to fight and and just uh and and and you know in the fight you know, scaling up to the point where like you know, where he you know where he's proved wrong and and and honestly, aside aside from how gorgeous it is, uh my favorite thing about that fight is is that uh you know Nataro is the you know is the perceived like you know he's on the human side, so he's on the quote unquote good side. But the but the reason but the reason the reason uh Naturo's ultimately the winner is is because like the Chimera ants, you know, they was big and bad, they was absorbing everybody. They thought, you know, they thought it was gonna you know take some shit over, but they did not know the the depth of of of fucked upness that that that it is to humans.
SPEAKER_07Like they ate them and got them in, but they didn't get how fucked up they actually were.
SPEAKER_11Yeah, exactly. Like like nigga, you you knew you you were a baby. You used you you you throw you through a rock thought you threw a rock thought you was doing something. It was like, nah, nigga, nah nigga, we'll we'll we we'll steal your family, we'll poison you, we'll cut your knees off. We you know, being strong, sometimes being stronger just ain't quite it. And uh and this fight was uh beautifully orchestrated after that. It's like yeah, I'm gonna go for a hunter.
SPEAKER_04100x hunter two points. So let's swing on over to shampoo bracelets. You guys have extreme insight into the realm of fights as well as the realm of violence. So, do these two anime live up to the hype as it pertains to the family of violence and fights?
SPEAKER_00I have um, I won't, I I kind of I'm looking past the bias because um I have a real big issue with bleach. Uh and for anybody who knows me, I read that manga and I I have I hated myself. But um I uh to be honest though, like I said, I normally choose violence, but in this case, there's a there's an art and an intelligence to that fight, to a lot of fights of Hunter X Hunter as a whole to this universe, but the way their fights work, I enjoy the most. And in this situation, even more so, because as powerful as Miriam was, as power powerful as Letterow was, that that didn't really become a power matchup until after it was a chess match. And like the way they have it parallel with the chess pieces, and how Miriam is literally just running through all the possibilities in his mind as he's watching how Letterrow fights, as he's watching how each time Letterow does a hand sign or does an arm a certain way, okay, this the Buddha does this or Buddha does that. And he's literally getting his ass whooped, but learning at the same time and planning out the next move. And now it becomes a thing of well, I gotta be five steps ahead of you. And now it goes from being more about more less about the hands to more about who was the more calculated in their steps, and that progression throughout the fight, especially knowing how the rest of it went with you know Miriam playing uh chess, and uh what I can't remember her name right now. Kamugi. Yeah, there you go. Uh you said what? Wait, Kamoogie. I was kept saying Moogie, but I couldn't remember if it was a Moogie or Moogie, but you got a little girl who can't wipe her nose and nobody's a whole show. She had a rough life, give it a give it away. But like, but now but yeah, like that, the way that they they paralleled those two things was just beautiful to me. So, yes, I choose violence, but I'll always choose a psychological battle of that stuff of that nature. Um, that was just uh uh playing on play on intelligence and a play on the experience of the other, the inexperience of one versus the experience of the other, and how one was quick enough to learn to get over that experience and let their power take the rest of the way. I I'll I'll always choose that. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Lady Legisless. Do you happen to know which ones are the matchup, which ones within this match you would prefer to move on to the next round?
SPEAKER_18Um say I found just based on you know the face value of both of these is I'm not the uh aficionado or the expert on either of these. The uh what is it? The bleach one that caught my eye the most mainly. But I found the Hunter X Hunter to be more interesting in the grasping of like me wanting to actually see it from the beginning and actually be invested in what I'm watching. Both were good in my opinion, but I felt like that Hunter X Hunter made me want to watch it from the Gideon, the ghetto.
SPEAKER_04Okay, gotcha, gotcha. Uh Talon Flame and Sayune circling back. We already technically have a winner, but we do want to hear your response after doing a little bit more uh research.
SPEAKER_16Go first, both.
SPEAKER_04Oh, you can go first, baby.
SPEAKER_09No, go ahead for me, it's it's bleached for me. Um, even though I can respect uh Netero's dedication for his whole martial arts style, his prowess, it took his whole life to build that. And uh even his stance, he kept it the same throughout every fight. So I loved it, and just the idea that the Ant King swore up and down that he already won a long time ago, but he was checkmated from the start. So the explosion, the disease, the depth that the human race had to go to kill him. That was beautiful. But man, you're seeing Ichigo cut loose and and chop his arm off and grind his face into the wall and almost blow his whole head off. I don't know, man. It's different feels.
SPEAKER_16They're both brutal. Um, you know, you had self-sacrifice versus someone losing control of themselves, like Ichigo turning into a hollow, losing himself completely. And I think was it Origime?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, the bitch came to Orahime.
SPEAKER_16What did she do? She's just so useless to me.
SPEAKER_04She didn't heal. Well, she doesn't heal actually, but we're not doing that right now.
SPEAKER_16Anyway, yeah, when his name bitch snapped him out of it, isn't something like that. But you know, Ichigo was just just straight rage, and you felt it throughout the entire fight scene. You know, just going by the fight scene, um, you know, Netero and Miriam, the buildup was beautiful. But if we're going to the, I think it's the Orikura, what is that? That Del Noches, whatever the fuck that whole arc is with bleach, where it's like a mundo, yes, you know, and it's everything, you know, going back with um shampoo bracelets is huge with uh music and and fight scenes, and it just gave you a whole vibe. You it was it was uh an orchestra again of you had the music, you had the choreography, you had, you know, even though I'm a big fan of color, their lack of color set the tone. It was muted to give you kind of like this feeling of loss and devastation, uh, as well with the fucking rage. So the fight scene with me, it I it was more guttural, so I loved it. And um, bleach that fight scene, that's probably my favorite fight scenes in all of Bleach, to be truly honest. So that that for me, that's that's it. That's the one. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Uh Hank, uh, you kind of already have a winner for this one. Uh, did you have anything else you wanted to add?
SPEAKER_07Um like I said, like um when we started this tournament, I was very much I was I think it's time for us to shift mindsets just a little bit. Um, because although it's very easy to kind of invest a lot of our attention towards a much more aesthetic way of viewing most of these fight scenes, um, as we get further and further along, that that there's going to be a need, in my in my very humble and personal opinion, to invest a lot more into the overarching things that make these fight scenes as great as they are. I mean, it's like if you look at if there's a it's like there's a difference between looking at a filet mignon and looking at a filet mignon and this process of how you get to that filet mignon, right? There's going to be a a very distinct um understanding of why something is amazing versus it looking amazing. For all intents and purposes, something can just simply look amazing and be amazing, and there not be there not be a whole lot of uh substance truly underpinning it. And not even so much that there's not enough substance, but when I think specifically since we're talking about this Ultura um Medwam versus Medwim fight between Hunter Hunter and Bleach, um the thing that, in my personal opinion, that puts Medwim versus Nestro above this bleach fight is that there's there's more multi-dimensional battles happening here. There's not just a physical one, there's an ideological one, there's an ethical one, and there's also a moral one. There are a lot of different things happening at the same time, just simply between these two people that have this kind of implication that will resonate throughout the rest of the world and or as in their respective worlds and their respective series. And I think that that's what, at least for me, puts it above Bleach at the end of the day. Because when I look at Bleach, I just for all intents and purposes, I just see another shonen fight. I just see another flashy, explosive battle that is put together, albeit beautifully and you know, set in a very satisfying way. But ultimately, it comes down to fight porn versus uh fight fan fiction, if all if I had to like make a distinction, which is a weak one because fan fiction can have a tendency to just be smart. But nonetheless, nonetheless, I thought I I thought I got Herkaze's mind like echoing when I said that. I was like, well, you know, fan fiction also can just be smart.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. So who wins that round? Hunter X Hunter. So now we're gonna move on to the next bracket, the third bracket of our tournament, which is our live TV drama bracket. This section is for TV shows that have had fight scenes. We've gone through a significant list to narrow it down to these last four, and we're gonna see who's gonna make it to the next two. So, first matchup of today: The Punisher, Frank versus the Russian thugs, the gym match fight, versus Daredevil, Matt versus the kidnappers, the hallway fight. So each of these fights, as told online, are the top of a lot of people, not everyone, but a lot of people's lists of one of the best fight scenes of the most previous season of live TV dramas. Specifically, Daredevil, a lot of people enjoyed that hallway fight. Some said it was the best one in the entire season. Others will say that the Punisher and the Russian gym fight was brutal, uh uh uh sadistic and just nasty, but it was realistic in nature. So, panelists, which one do we choose? And we're going to start with shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_16Oh, okay. All right, um, this isn't really a thought for me. Um, I've watched the whole Daredevil series, and I I'm sorry that fight left me bored. I actually wished I didn't watch that whole series um and was happy when it went off. Um, with that said, I of course am a huge fan of The Punisher, even from the original movie. So, of course, I'm gonna choose Frank Castle beating up Russian thugs. Everybody who's been in the gym, like I think Talon Flame said this last time, has thought about throwing a weight in somebody's face, using that mirror to scratch up your face, or whatever the case was. Come at me, bro. I got weights in my head.
SPEAKER_15So he acted out everybody's dream that had been in the gym, waiting for some shit to pop off. The punishers.
SPEAKER_04Let's slide it on over to Tyler Flame since you've already kind of given us a little inkling into what you're thinking. Tyler Flame Sayune, what do you think? The Punisher or Daredevil? I'll let you go first, baby.
SPEAKER_16All right, the Punisher was brutal. Like when I saw the blood being spit in the guy's face, that's that's nigga. We you gonna die.
SPEAKER_19Like a level of disrespect.
SPEAKER_16Like he was like, I'm like, oh like that's a live level.
SPEAKER_19That's like COVID. That's that's right.
SPEAKER_16I'm like, nigga, that's COVID, and whatever the fuck you got, all the cooties you got, bitch. You look you on that. So I was like, God, I was just so disrespectful. Um, like you, you know, when you're in a gym, you see all this hard shit, you're like, damn, is somebody gonna die if you don't get on this stuff? And they got you seeing whopping heads and fucking your toes up, and all that was great. You know, it was it was realistic, it was a brawl. But Daredevil, he is blind. And when I saw this nigga getting flown into the hallway, you you got you got served by a blind nigga. And I mean, fucked all the way up. So for me, you know, and also I love the fighting scenes as well. The choreography was very realistic. You could tell that they actually were trained correctly, you know, when it came to like fighting and and what to do, the techniques. Um, and for me, I just I was entertained more with Daredevil. Um, you know, of course, you're in the gym, you have a whole bunch of weights, you already know you're gonna get fucked up, but it was more unpredictable seeing Daredevil. And I'm a Daredevil person, I don't really like Daredevil at all. So I was Callan had to fucking beg me to watch this shit because I saw that shit with Electro in the 2000s. I'm like, I've been watching this shit. This shit was whack, Daredevil's whack, and I saw the I saw the show and I was pleasantly surprised. So I have to go with Daredevil with this one.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, man, I I love the weight scene. Like uh whoever, if you ever lift weight, you've always thought of that shit because there's a weapon near you.
SPEAKER_07You always that's the thing about it.
SPEAKER_09You can make yourself sick. But when it comes to Daredevil, man, like the first scene he goes in, and the thing about the Murdock fights, it there's never a time where he does not get touched. He be getting fucked up like a lot of the time, it's not smooth, it's it's not like the Punisher where he's just brutalizing everybody and straight winning most of those fights cleanly, so it's it's more entertaining value because it looks like he might lose.
SPEAKER_15Yeah, he's taking the hits, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, so like when I looked at it again, I was like, Yeah, well, the first time you see it, you're like, Oh, is he gonna lose? Because he came in the fight hurt, so and limping out, right? And that's that's a good thing about a fight scene is when you don't know if the main character is gonna win or die exactly with Frank Castle. You know, after mad people are gonna die, he's gonna be just fine. Yeah, so for me, it's it's Daredevil, unfortunately. No problem, because I like the weights.
SPEAKER_16You have a biased opinion, yeah.
SPEAKER_04I do had to make that internal decision. Um, next, Joe Tsg. Which do you choose? Daredevil or the Punisher?
SPEAKER_12Punisher.
SPEAKER_04Any reasons why?
SPEAKER_12Daredevil was born as hell.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, we got two on the boring side of Daredevil.
SPEAKER_12Just off of just like sheer emotion and And just the scenes and how brutal they were. The Punisher was just way more interesting and fun to just watch visually.
SPEAKER_14Okay.
SPEAKER_12And I also really want to throw a barbell at a few people's heads. So yeah.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_04Well, if you see Joe in the gym, back the hell up. All right. So Hank.
SPEAKER_12That is why I go in the morning. That is why I go in the morning. No one's there.
SPEAKER_04So Hank, where uh where are we? I don't hear any echoes. I don't hear any water dropping. I actually don't know where you are. They told us you left out a couple of days ago to uh be on the scene at one of these winners. Uh and uh haven't seen you since.
SPEAKER_07Well, I'm glad you you're asking because I'm actually still in Hell's Kitchen. I'm actually in the hospital. Um we're just kind of getting some feedback from the asses that were whooped in that hallway with Daredevil. Um uh the we would ask uh we would ask the friend castle victims, but unfortunately they're all dead. So nonetheless, uh we're gonna have to go ahead and turn to one of these uh one of these uh hand hand these uh eyewitnesses to their own to their own fate. Uh so uh but it seems like down here we're gonna have to go with Daredevil, just simply on the energy agreeing with the flames that there was something there's something much more um investing, uh or something that you can be much more invested in when the stakes are higher and when the the the the when there seems to be more against the Arkham Baton. Because that particular hallway scene with Daredevil um is is more interesting because it's it uh again kind of echoing the sentiments that I had before, there's a lot kind of at play here. Like Frank Castle is um is is cathartic in a in a number of different ways because he's pure brutalization, he's almost to an extent raw emotion that's untempered, and Daredevil has to deal with a lot more than Frank Castle, at least as far as these um contained fight scenes are concerned, uh really has to deal with. Um Daredevil has to mitigate a lot of his own personal beliefs and let alongside his own um kind of emotional views and intellectual perceptions of these situations, um, in in conjunction with the actual goal that he has to go for, right? So it's not only that he has to do whatever he needs to do, but he also has to keep from ending these lives that he, for all attempts and purposes, doesn't have a huge problem with ending, but in correspondence with the faith that he's always had and the way he's tried to temper and mitigate himself in the throughout the entire process, while you know, trying to maintain a sense of self-preservation makes this fight that much more um that much more meaningful or you know, for all intents and purposes better to me. Because Frank Castle, at least from my very from my own perspective, is just violence for violence sake. And knowing the character that is Daredevil, he will do he will use violence, but he also understands that there is uh an external process towards that back up. There's an external process that informs the his his own like means of enacting that violence. So um definitely gonna go with their double one as well.
SPEAKER_04Great choice, great choice, Hank. Thank you very much. So we're gonna slide on over to Kaze Shinryu. What is your choice?
SPEAKER_11Uh yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna echo some of the previous sentiments made. Uh yeah, it's less of fight more abroad. Uh is is is definitely like uh incredible like physical spectacle. Um and uh, you know, and it's funny, and it's funny the that uh you know that Hank like you know levied that that criticism towards uh Punisher because I'm because this particular Punisher is like incredibly uh introspective. And and honestly, when he's written well, he always is. Um but that's not uh that's not the one we always get uh you know with after you know Frank Frank Miller did did his run. You know, uh again, he was incredibly introspective and and tortured and had a lot of things going on behind the scenes, but that's not that you know people bought tickets because uh because he was smashing faces through faces with faces. And and uh and and honestly, the thing that kind of took me uh out of this scene a little bit was uh is is that Punisher was dis was disfiguring these people with these weights, and he was and he was getting hit with the weights, and he was just like oop, how oopsie. And so so it actually took me out the fight that he's like murdering people and breaking bones, and then he's just getting clocked in the head with a 45. And I'm like, that's not how heads work. So, you know, so you was uh you you were you were you were vying for realism, but then but then you took me out of it. This is a regular person versus this superhuman is fighting for his goddamn life in this hallway, and he can actually fight like like like this. Like that that's one of my favorite things about uh the you know, not only Daredevil but this show is that the choreography, the choreography is so beautifully done, and the uh in the shots they made, the uh the uh the way the way Matt was fighting, the uh you know, uh, you know, taking taking to account like uh where uh uh where he uh was on his journey, like it's uh you know, fight fight fighting is like really really interesting interesting because nine times out of ten you you know what's gonna happen. So the so the fight the fight's job is to invest you not only into the moment but the but the but the moment but where that character is. And it's like so you know, like you know, like logically, you know what's gonna happen, but but you're but now you're watching it through their eyes and you're feeling what they're feeling. And and so and and even though even though you know it's a foregone conclusion, you are still like, oh my god, what's gonna happen? Like, you know, it's like your body, you know, it's like your your body's feeling what's happening despite what your what uh what your brain does. And uh yeah, Daredevil definitely uh did that for did that for me here. It's uh that's uh beautiful.
SPEAKER_04Daredevil. All right. It's two three. Lady Lacatus, I'm gonna have to ask you Daredevil, hallway fight, the Punisher, gym fight. Which one is the better fight scene to you?
SPEAKER_18I would say Daredevil TBH because it was the I guess I think it was the if I'm recollecting it correctly. Somebody who's correct me if I'm wrong. It was the initial came into the room and just started ass whooping just because he could. Is that is that what the right scene am I am I right correct? Am I correct in that?
SPEAKER_11That's that describes a lot of these scenes. It does.
SPEAKER_18Yeah, and he just started handing out you know, ass whoopings like it's supposed to be, and then you know, in the hallway, he can sense you got me fucked up in so you'd have to see it. That that's that's that's that's a powerful thing to have. Like I can can in my mind's eye see you got me fucked up, and I can let you have what you're supposed to have in there. Um yeah, I just enjoyed the uh the just the hallway scene in general. It gave me, yeah. Granted, uh, he uh the Punisher did really give the work where it's supposed to be given, especially amongst you know, Divi and out where it's supposed to be, but I just like the all that in the hallway.
SPEAKER_11Yes, choreography.
SPEAKER_04No problem. All right, we have our final decision of that particular match, which is Daredevil, Matt versus the kidnappers in the hallway scene. So we're gonna move on to the next matchup of the live TV dramas, which is Hannibal, Hannibal versus FBI agent Jack Crawford versus Altered Carbon, Raleen Kovacs versus Takeshi Kovacs, the brother and sister fight. Now, if everybody knows, and I'm referring to our panelists, that one was kind of slid into our our tournament at the last minute. It was a a uh dark horse that we did not see coming. But now that we know it's there, how are we going to make a specific choice? Which one of our two, which one of our two uh uh shows is going to make it to the next round? Let's find out. So, panelists, we're going to start with Hank. Hank.
SPEAKER_07I'm here, I'm here. I was muted. I was speaking words, but they weren't they weren't coming out.
SPEAKER_18Yeah, it was probably like yes.
SPEAKER_04Uh so so Hank, uh this uh this this fight is uh the fight between these two fighting scenes is actually pretty interesting. Uh uh as I said before, Ultra Carbon was kind of a last-minute entrance into the tournament, but it's it is a very uh uh crucial fight scene in this in this show, as well as the Hannibal fight. And based off of the analysis that both you and Professor Hank McCoy have been doing, uh leading up through these uh different uh matchups, you've been talking about how the storyline, the uh the lead up to these individual fight scenes is what really brings out the the concepts and the the reasoning behind why you should choose one fight scene or the over the other. And both of these fight scenes actually took place at the culmination of both of these seasons of the series. Uh, whether they're coming back or not, that's not what we're talking about today. So between Hannibal, this final fight, you know, is interesting. People didn't even know there was a fight scene in Hannibal. Uh so now that we know there is one, this fight scene is kind of a an unexpected uh uh uh treasure at the end of the season. And then you have the fight scene of the the brother and sister, the the um the uh kind of uh uh uh sister-brother complex that nobody even knew that that show particularly had, but it does. So, which one of these two fight scenes do you feel should move on in the tournament?
SPEAKER_07And um, to be completely and totally honest, in conjunction with my very explicit biases towards uh the the brilliant and the the the astonishing Dr. Hannibal Lecter, there is not a whole lot in that fight scene that can rival the um the more calculated aspects of Hannibal, the Hannibal fight scene. Um I think the most brilliant part is that when you truly examine the fights as they took place, there's something uh there's something persistently calculated about Hannibal's fight, regardless of which, regardless of how you want to compare the two. Um, as much as I enjoy Alter Carbon, one of my favorite Hamilton cast members is in the show, there's a lot of things about it that don't really allow it to be as great as it could be, partly because of that dynamic. Um, but when you but in my personal opinion, when I when I start to examine the fight scenes and when I start to examine the overall stories that lead to those moments, like the the relationship between Hannibal and the people that he was working with to catch himself and being able to, for all intents and purposes, continue to elude them and um uh fool them the entire time while giving them very valid and you know persistent leads um that would that would make his uh his place within his own story that much more, you know, um that not more valid, but invest us more into that story is phenomenal. And the fact that we can continue to see as as an audience the relationship that continues to take place between Hannibal and these and the detectives, and not to mention Lawrence Fisher's character, whose name immediately escaped me at the time. Um like the relationship that leads up to this fight is astonishing. Because even when you're watching all of it take place, you have to recognize that Hannibal knows what exactly to do in each and every moment, and that's what makes him that much more deadly, and that's what makes this fight so much more high-staked than the one in ultra carbon because you're not fighting against you know a mercenary, you're not fighting against uh an assassin, you're fighting against uh a very cold, calculated serial killer in a way, and not just a serial killer, but a psychologist at the same time. So he has all of the devices necessary to navigate an altercation and continue to remain calm. And the fact that he's been through so much in his own life, if you've seen any other Hannibal films or you're not read any, you know, other like lore about Hannibal, you'll know that he's much more dangerous than anyone in ultra carbon could ever be, part in my personal opinion, partly because of the the capacities in which he has continued to live his life and function. And there's not a whole lot that anyone can, in my personal opinion, that anyone can really say that would somehow make a fight with him um much more well less dangerous in comparison to someone else. Because Hannibal has always been able to navigate things with his mind and not simply just with his body in a lot of the ways that some of these other um fight scenes have, you know, uh shown themselves to be able to function. And I think that's the thing that will always set him uh uh a couple tiers above the rest when it comes to how he uh how this fight scene in particular becomes that much more high stakes and that much more intense when you start to truly examine them. So yeah, it's gonna be Hannibal for me.
SPEAKER_04Phenomenal. Thank you for the synopsis once again. Joe Tsg, Hannibal versus Altered Carbon fight scenes.
SPEAKER_12Uh I'm gonna go with Hannibal. However, audible uh honorable mentions to the fan and then altered carbon. I can't even say the damn thing. The actual fan that like blue the hair, apparently, it's the same brand that Beyonce uses.
SPEAKER_19Oh Jesus.
SPEAKER_12So for that reason, honorable mentions to the fans. That's it, because there was no other good, interesting part in ultra comments. Oh, other than that.
SPEAKER_04Um that's an actual fact.
SPEAKER_12No, that's an actual fact, yeah. Same brand of fans. I just looked it up.
SPEAKER_04Wow. Huh. Yeah, yeah. Um okay, well, V Hive would be happy to know that. Kaze Shinryu.
SPEAKER_11Uh still still still going through my process. But uh yeah, this the the the the the Hamble fight was uh super engaging. I love you know, I love I love the character. I love uh I love Mads Nicholson wherever you give him an excuse to be on screen and he is his his face looks like violence to me, and I think this is uh unfair advantage in in this fight. Like I feel like you know, this I feel like people are being hurt whenever he the camera's looking at him. Um but you know, and he and he chews up most things he's in even when he's not doing much. But uh yeah, I I I think I think ultimately it comes down to uh the the Hannibal fight really uh uh plays more to me like uh Hannibal playing with his food because he he could have killed that nigga a bunch of times. And again, and it you know, and it came and it came down like to this broad as usually not not his uh not his forte, and it's like and it's like okay, that's why y'all had to pick Mads and not and not Anthony Hopkins, cause because Hannah Hannibal just decided that he wanted some exercise today. But uh but no, it really it really comes down to the alter carbon fight, uh, aside from these two being, you know, this is a fighting tournament and these are these these are uh fighters. Like these like they like they they make a living. But not not only not only uh fighters though, because uh home homeboy thought his sister was dead, and and and and just and just the way that he had to weave like through like all these all these like mysteries and all these fucking seemingly random, fucked up events in this in this world that he barely understood because he was fucking asleep for like a hundred some years and like you know, just just just for the culmination of that to come to the end of it and and the fact that his long-dead sister was was doing all these things uh and and some you know in some twisted form of love uh for him and the you know and the fact that it was oh you brush your teeth in the shower. Y'all be doing the most on my turn.
SPEAKER_04It's only important to mute yourselves. Always important to mute yourselves.
SPEAKER_11But uh yeah, it was the uh it was it was it was it was definitely uh a lot uh uh uh hinging hinging on this fight. It was you know, it was definitely like uh like you know, he had to come to terms of like, you know, he she he thought he lost her. He was like, shit, am I am I gonna get you back? And then, you know, and then and then he's like, nope, you're nope. I I love listening to you, and you were you were still dead to me. Uh you you you want some you want some new shit. I don't uh it was uh yeah, that the ultra-carbon fight uh uh ultimately uh just very literally had much higher stakes. Like it was you know, Hannibal was again just playing cat and mouse and don't skip shit, like whereas uh the ultra-carbon fight was like like she was she was literally about to take over like this this city and uh in the way that uh thousands of people uh millions of people uh learned uh existed. So uh yeah, it's gonna be the ultra-carbon fight.
SPEAKER_04Brought it down to an antithesis. I didn't say that right. Brought it down to a theory, beautiful. So next, I'm going to ask Lady Legacys altered carbon versus Hannibal.
SPEAKER_07I thought you were trying to say antithesis.
SPEAKER_04I was about to, but then I realized it didn't fit.
SPEAKER_18Um Mo is say I go Hannibal. Uh means because I do love Lawrence Fishburne and to see him in an action-packed thing again, especially when he's like, you know, renowned for playing all these other parts or whatever. Yeah, sure, Orheus and um, but yeah, it was just cool to see him in that type of light with that particular fight scene. It was it was just dope. It was the the way he took that bracket knife. I was like, yo, it's dope. Uh but yeah, I'm gonna go with Hannibal. I like that. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Shen two bracelets.
SPEAKER_00Hannibal. Um I just I I I'm a I'm a sucker for for like psychological fights, and you can see the gears turning as they're going through their fight. Like how each of them is looking around the kids, like Hannibal's really looking around the kids like, what can I fucking do that with? Like it's like you can see it is another guy just trying to avoid death. And like like most of these, most of this birds play this guy as well. He's like, I am a detective because this motherfucker is different. And I detected, you have to try to stab me with much like me into a full course here.
SPEAKER_04I just gotta get it out. Like this.
SPEAKER_00I want to do this. Uh, Like that's about it. And like I said, and on top of that, he has the two like wonderful actors of Lord Fishburg, and I think it was um Nicholson. I can't remember it was uh Matt Mickelson or uh Matt Mickelson. Matt Mickelson, there you go. Matt Mickelson. He was um they the way they played their roles in the series as a whole was great. But in this particular fight, for them, for neither one of them being action stars, they did incredibly well for the choreography of this fight.
SPEAKER_14And their stuntmen.
SPEAKER_00And their stuntmen. Just making it look like these are two really smart middle-aged men fucking each other up in the best possible, hoping that neither one of them had any type of off-riders in the morning after. That was great. That was a great fight from that perspective as well. So, yeah. Very good, very good.
SPEAKER_04Okay. So we have our winner for this particular match, but do the flames want to throw anything else in?
SPEAKER_16Um, I'm definitely gonna say uh Jack Crawford and Hannibal for sure. Um, the fight scene in the kitchen is basically everything that you would think of for like a kitchen fight. The butcher knife using the kitchen rags as a way to kind of deflect the knife, using the fridge to fuck up your head. Even like I think it was like a wine cellar. They utilized the entire set in the kitchen, nothing was was left untouched, and it was beautiful and graphic and gory. The fight team was beautiful. Lawrence Fishburn did the damn thing, and um, I think Mad Nicholson is his name, I believe. Um phenomenal, phenomenal actor. I mean, anything from the video game to to any type of you know, um end of the world apocalyptic type of movie to Hannibal, he's one of the best actors I've seen that came out of Europe for me. So um I love him. I love Lawrence Fishburne, one of my favorite actors as well. So together they did a beautiful coupling of disaster. So it'll it'll definitely be Hannibal for me.
SPEAKER_04So so what you're saying is the Hannibal kitchen fight scene uh is far superior to the Kill Bill fight kitchen fight scene?
SPEAKER_16It's a different vibe, you know what I'm saying? It's it's a it's a whole entire different vibe, only because of just it's like a very it's like a different genre of fight scenes for me. So it I I wouldn't pair the same, it wouldn't be a fair fight to pair the same. To me, it just wouldn't be the it wouldn't be the same.
SPEAKER_04Okay, yeah. All right, so we know in this matchup, Hannibal moves on. Cartoon fight scenes, first matchup, family guy, Peter versus the chicken from season 10, that specific fight versus Avatar, the last airbender, and versus the Phoenix King.
SPEAKER_13I don't like Avatar is it humor?
SPEAKER_04Is it culmination? Is it the end all be all versus the continuation? Which one of these two fight scenes do you feel is going to win? And we shall start with Lady Legacy. Don't look at me like that. I'm I'm the teacher that points out the finding where our telepathy is on. I no, no, no. And I'm the teacher points out the person who doesn't have the answer on their face.
SPEAKER_18And I feel like our energy isn't in the sync. I just we have to check on it later. It's fine. I feel like your chakras are off, but it's fine. Um see baby Jesus above. Uh God.
SPEAKER_04Um family guy or Avatar. The last air vendor.
SPEAKER_17Um, I'm I'm I'm gonna say, I'm I'm gonna say I have to take my hair down because I'm hot. Um I'm gonna say it's so hard.
SPEAKER_18It's generally hard because both of them, because I I love Avatar, especially the journey that we all gone through, and then to see him do all elements and beat that ass like it's supposed to be beat. And then for it's just Fanny Guy, and they went through so many settings just to like for him to come back again. Um I'm gonna go with family guy. Yeah, I'm gonna go with family guy off the strength of that joke. It was hilarious. It's not the first one, it's not the last one, but yo kept coming back. He made him into basically braised fried chicken. It just was hilarious off the stretch. Yo made himself into clones, and that it was just all around funny. Do I still love Avatar? Yeah, but as a fight scene, fight scene, fight scene, like is it all combination? Sure, but it's just the the yeah, I'm I'm I'm gonna have to go with family guy.
SPEAKER_04Okay, I'm interested to see this next panelist, uh panelist, uh choice, uh shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_16No, I got it. Um, so that's funny. You chose us because I had to.
SPEAKER_04Oh no, because I know the answer.
SPEAKER_16Oh, okay. All right, cool. Um, for me, I am not really a fan of Avatar. Um Shammy B is.
SPEAKER_05Shameful.
SPEAKER_16My eyes didn't feel that way. Um, but um, for me, of course, it's gonna have to be Family Guy. Like, I've been watching Family Guy for so long. Um, I can't deny a good entertaining fight with Peter and this chicken from like the update time. Like, you can't, like, that brings you so much joy and entertainment and relief at the same time, especially if you turn it on after you had a shitty day just to get a good laugh. Yes, family guy.
SPEAKER_00By the way, I like to also point out this is I like as much as I like Avatar, I had to choose Family Guy as well because I'm sorry, it's just something about it's something about seeing them two. That's okay.
SPEAKER_06We know most people are, they can't do anything about it.
SPEAKER_00Like, just it's just the throwing of the hands in that particular there's no there's no real special art martial arts, it's two basic ass niggas at the street and said, you know what, fuck you, and then they started fighting, like they just started throwing hands, it was great.
SPEAKER_18My child is this definition of on sight, literally, huh? Definition of on site.
SPEAKER_04I mean, if him and she don't want in this tournament, they would absolutely lose because they have a true definition of on site on site and chose violence, and shows violence every time, every time, but they did all right, Kaize Shinry. You seem to be uh uh ready to give your answer, so you you assume much, sir.
SPEAKER_11But uh but uh I don't know. I'm I'm I'm I'm re I'm rewatching the the chicken fight now. I think I uh uh dismissed it a little the the first round, but uh it's you know it's it's real it's really like a lot. The fact that it's even in this tournament and serving as uh the actual fight scene with with the just different layers of gags still going on the the the movie references a lot. Uh you know, I I think I I I think would uh uh uh help me make this decision because I I I love love Avatar. And and while and while I do enjoy this fight, I think I think I think the thing uh I think the part the part where it lost me is that uh Avatar story had to contort itself to create and had guide mode and nobody could see him at all. And and they had, you know, and uh and it was literally like oh how you know how they had to turn off his guide mode and then they had to trip him back into it so he can win this fight. And it was like you know, it was you know, it's beautifully choreographed. It was uh, you know, the you know, the the and honestly the real fight was against was against himself and uh while while while while the other the other option is is violence, and ultimately did not choose violence. He did not and and he and he and he chose himself and he was better for it. I don't know if he chose psychological trauma or physical violence, but uh I mean when dude when when when you're fire hitler, you know that you're you're lucky that's what all you got off it. That he found he found a kind god to deal with. But uh yeah, but as far as between these two, I've said uh I'm gonna I'm gonna go go uh go ahead with Peter. Peter and the chicken.
SPEAKER_04Peter and the chicken, Joe Ts G.
SPEAKER_12Peter and the chicken.
unknownWow.
SPEAKER_04I mean I saw that coming.
SPEAKER_07We all uh you just say wow, you it's not that shocking.
SPEAKER_12It's really not.
SPEAKER_07It's not, it's not no.
SPEAKER_12How many of us have had like it's it was so relatable? How many of us had a good piece of fried chicken and we just you know just had to just demolish it, you know? It's great.
SPEAKER_07I mean I'm gonna be honest, I should have expected that particular direction, but I wasn't ready for it. I wasn't ready, I wasn't wow.
SPEAKER_11We've all been there, and uh and I was like, he's gonna say we've all been there and then say something very alien and something you telling me you have never got a good piece of chicken in front of you, and you just just it made you feel cut away.
SPEAKER_12Did you eat it?
SPEAKER_11Happy for free.
SPEAKER_12You eat, so you eat violently.
SPEAKER_11It was it wasn't a fight.
SPEAKER_01There it goes again.
SPEAKER_11Somebody died a long time ago. I'm I'm honoring the death. So this abolishment of life.
SPEAKER_12No, I mean, overall, I I think uh Avatar uh just visually is just a better looking fight, but just from pure emotion alone, I think just Family Guy had it for me. It made me laugh at certain points, made me go, goddamn at some point, right? You know, um, it just it just made me feel so much more, and that's why I went with Family Guy.
SPEAKER_02Okay, Hank. What you call my name for? Right, wandering too.
SPEAKER_16Yeah, yeah, they lost his shit. You know you won't fucking pick us too.
SPEAKER_04Why would I do that? I'm I'm trying to give you the ability to be comfortable. I don't want to pick on you when you're not ready. So I wanted to make sure I picked Hank.
SPEAKER_18Nah, shut dumb ass up. Shut up.
SPEAKER_16You already saw we finished eating our biscuits now, and you were right back. Yep, so Hank.
SPEAKER_04Petty ass shit. The twin family guy. Uh and Avatar, the last airbender, in terms of fight scenes. Uh, which do you choose?
SPEAKER_07I mean, all I really have to say is that the majority of this this panel has them and their forefathers have devastated the balance of this world. And at some point in their lives, they will pay the ultimate price. Nonetheless, um I will go with Avatar.
SPEAKER_12Them niggas don't care. They don't care. My ankle don't get care. Half of them were white and half of them are black.
SPEAKER_04They still fight with each other.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, yeah, they talked about.
SPEAKER_04Salem Flame, Sayone. Yes, you seem to be uh just raring to go. What's your answer for this matchup? Chicken bite, chicken, avatar, avatar.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I'll seem to be the sanction in the ranks. Oh, it's it's the it's the discord from me.
SPEAKER_09I mean, I'll run a fade for some fried chicken.
SPEAKER_16It's the chicken fight.
SPEAKER_09My man Agg had to say the late. There's the difference.
SPEAKER_16But nigga, have you ever seen a crispy ass chicken on legs trying to fight you? Bitch, you will eat that motherfucker. Are you kidding me?
SPEAKER_01I mean, uh, it's a fresh chicken.
SPEAKER_12And to be honest, Agg really needed some chicken because after waking up for 300 years, you wasn't hungry. You have a chicken.
SPEAKER_16He was a vegetarian. He was a vegetarian.
SPEAKER_12He could have helpful chicken.
SPEAKER_16That's why he don't know no better. Look, he just wanted some chicken. So uh look, the chicken fight gave us the train.
SPEAKER_07Because the last time I checked, all this started over a coupon.
SPEAKER_12Exactly.
SPEAKER_04Okay, he wanted to say somebody an expired coupon, not just a coupon. And an expired gag. Next, it wasn't expired.
SPEAKER_12Hey, hey, it lasted more than 10 seasons.
SPEAKER_04All right, so we have our winner of this particular match. It is Family Guy, Peter versus the Chicken from season 10. For the first time, technically we've only had two tournaments, but the first time in a tournament, Avatar is out before the semi-finals. So we're going to move on to our move on to our final matchup.
SPEAKER_09Team Avatar, my nigga. Team Avatar.
SPEAKER_04Our final matchup of the final quadrant of this tournament, and that is Star Wars, the Clone Wars, Darth Maul versus Safaj Oppressed versus Savage.
SPEAKER_10That's that's what it is.
SPEAKER_07I'm bad. I'm gonna say a whole nigga.
SPEAKER_04Versus Dark Sidious versus Justice League Unlimited, Captain Marvel versus Superman. Both of these matchups were completely unprecedented and completely unexpected. Nobody really expected Superman to fight Captain Marvel, especially before he was just am. And then nobody really saw you know Star Sidious, you know, coming, oh, whoop up the whoop the student's asses. So who is the actual winner of this matchup? Let's start with Talonflame and Sionet.
SPEAKER_16Um I'm gonna give this to you.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, because you maybe don't do Star Wars. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_16I'm not gonna be disrespectful either, so I give it to you.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, so survivor press all day because how much they put into the character, like they all the sisters put all their energy in for to be trained by Maul. And they are really banking on everything to work out, which technically he would be the most powerful sister if it they was given the right tutelage because he was stronger than Maul physically.
SPEAKER_13I like that name. Tootelage, yeah, tutelage, tutelage. I had never heard no shit like that before. Write that down. I'm sorry, they go ahead.
SPEAKER_11It's a regular word.
SPEAKER_15I don't know this regular word, it's not in my vocabulary, totally gumbo in the book.
SPEAKER_09That's it, man. So because his lack of direction, but not lack of drive, that was the only real reason why he lost. Very true, you know what I'm saying? He didn't even we gotta think about it. He was killing people with other lightsabers and who are fully trained, and he didn't even know any of the lightsaber sequences, really, at all.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, good choice. All right, Star Wars from one couple to another, shampoo bracelets, your choice.
SPEAKER_00Um, so for this one, I enjoy I enjoy Star Wars fights as a whole more. Um, and don't get me wrong, I'm a really big fan of the DC animated universe. They um for the most part, all everything they do in that aspect is fire, everything they do. But this was one of those particular moments where a lot of the a lot of the fights in Chromeboards was really good and really enjoyable uh from an aesthetic standpoint and from a story standpoint, just knowing the rest of the lore. Um, with this particular battle, one just seeing the both of them go at it, seeing him and his brother go at it with uh Hampatine was actually just really, just really fun to watch. So um and you don't really get anything like that, except for like uh what was it, episode three? Was when you really gotta see him fight like not Darth Maul, but uh everything Palmer teen fight like that. And you really didn't even you only got like glimpses anyway. You didn't really get to fight, you didn't really get what the full extent of what he could really do. And you don't really get it here, but you get way more here than you ever did in the movie. So it was so I I as a whole I really just enjoyed this fight quite a bit. Um and I and the Clone Wars as a whole is just a wonderful series.
SPEAKER_03Lady Legacy.
SPEAKER_18Uh me down. What were the choices again?
SPEAKER_04Um Star Wars, the Clone Wars, Darth Maul, uh, and Savager Press, Savage of Press versus Darth Sith, uh Sidious, uh versus uh Justice League Unlimited, Captain Marvel versus Superman.
SPEAKER_18I'm gonna have to go with Star Wars. Star Wars? Because um as much as you know I love Superman down, you know, down to 10 toes down, if you will. But I just enjoyed the fight with uh Star Wars drunk better T BH because yeah, it was just better in my opinion. I don't have a lot of feedback, it was just it was just better because it was, I mean, you know, Superman that we gotta do. He did a little x-ray vision, he saw a little jump, he was like, Yeah, it's not feeling right and but I'm beat your ass if you get in my way, bitch, what? Okay, cool, run up, get done up, whatever, whatever. But um, I enjoyed uh Star Wars better, it had more layers to it than him just saying, No, don't go get it, it's not what you think.
SPEAKER_04So, yeah, that's not what it's supposed to. Uh Hank, you available for a comment?
SPEAKER_07Uh, I am, I am. Um yeah, it was I I have to go with uh the the Star Wars battle. Um, between the this the the raw comparison of the two is really just Star Wars is superior, and when it comes down to so even on the level of kind of like base um just hand-to-hand combat, uh Superman Superman and Shazam really just kind of punch each other back and forth. Like there's not like the the there's not a lot of uh creativity in that fight for me. Um, and there's the there's a lot more of that creativity present in the choreography between um the the Sith Lord and his two apprentice, his former apprentice and you know, his you know, hopefully new apprentice, but you know, that ends to how it ends. Um spoilers or whatever. But um, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, yeah, the Star Wars, the Star Wars battle is just superior on a base level, in my personal opinion, in comparison to the Superman versus um Captain Marvel fight.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Joe T S G.
SPEAKER_12Yeah. Um so this I I think the the Superman versus um um um um Captain Marvel. Yeah, I got I got there. Yeah. Uh was was definitely like the battle of lightness. You know, it was it was very it was very Seasoned. You know, there wasn't a lot of flavor there.
SPEAKER_11I thought we want white views, right?
SPEAKER_12I mean, but like when you think about come on, like you're watching it, right? If you're you're comparing like a Thanksgiving dinner to like a tofuki. Like there's just there's just there's flavors there, there's layers, there's great cinematography, there's great fashion, there's they're giving you a great like background music, and there's just there's so much more direction. Right? And then you have Captain Marvel and Superman beating a shot at each other. We're just punching each other in the face. And like I make a flap back and then make a flap back forward and it just keeps going back and forth. Um it was just like casserole for sure.
SPEAKER_01Green bean casserole.
SPEAKER_12It was just a green bean casserole, you know, yeah. Exactly.
SPEAKER_16Ambrosia salad.
SPEAKER_12It was like, you know, the done. Very like marshmallow salad versus like mayonnaise salad.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What what both are disgusting?
SPEAKER_12Yeah, with the greatest too.
SPEAKER_19Yeah, the race.
SPEAKER_12But they're both inside of a book.
SPEAKER_19Yeah. Yeah, that's not uh yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_12Uh you know, it's like the the white embodiment of a child and the white embodiment of a grown man, and it just you know they're conflicting.
SPEAKER_04That's all. Yeah, fair enough. Yeah, as they shouldn't review.
SPEAKER_11I mean, we pretty much know uh who won, but uh uh so I just wanna uh because I because I I f I I felt like something uh critical's men over overlooked, not not that it's gonna overturn anything, but the the the the true the true violence at work here in this superman scene is the white privilege.
SPEAKER_07Don't do that to uh don't do it to JL Lex.
SPEAKER_11The 90s was yeah, but he was he was uh he was uh at least unambiguous. I mean ambiguous, but but uh but is the world-class gaslighting by Lex Luthor. The the this the the fact that that he is making this man act so far out of his character, and he like he's literally driving Superman mad to the foot the fact that he's fighting this little boy like you know, like it's like I'm completely like fine with the scene. And it's like it's one of those things where it's like you kind of you kind of always wanted to see him fight, but it was no reason for them to fight. And uh and the fact that like Lex is like, hey, no, soup, everything's cool. What but you know, and and uh the fact that he's like literally like playing.
SPEAKER_02Not soup.
SPEAKER_11Like, you know, he's like let he's he's he's like diving off the information like in such a way that he knows he's gonna drive superman mad, and but but uh but the public isn't gonna know what's going on, and or anyone else is gonna know it's literally just between those two. And Superman's like, I know you are I know you lying. I know I feel it in my spirit. And Lex is like, what calm down. Hey, people change rely it's not a kryptonite bomb, it's a kryptonite engine.
SPEAKER_04That it's not for you.
SPEAKER_11You know, so that's that's kind of like the the you know the the the veins, the the actual veins of that that fight. Like I think I think that definitely like improves it for me. Uh that being said, there it is. Uh uh, I mean, watch watching watching the emperor fight is is like it's is is it's like being like you know, like served breakfast by like Michelle Obama. It's like it's like it's like like you didn't even you ain't know she ain't you ain't know she knew who you was or you don't know how she got in your house. But but you did you just wake up and it's like and it's your favorite and it's like uh and it's the best ingredients of shifting.
SPEAKER_06She's wearing what you want to the inauguration building.
SPEAKER_11Oh don't don't say that because this is gonna go left. I'd as well go left. But uh like the the I I will I I am so incredibly biased for the for the emperor. Like he was I think uh the best I think I think the best the best part about about this fight is that the uh the the the emperor looked down on on lightsaber dueling. He uh he only engaged in it as as to uh further demean his his opponents and show them how far below him below him they they was. Like, you know, like you'll you'll notice like later on in the fight af after he easily dispatched both of these incredibly uh powerful, you know, powerful uh dudes. Like, you know, he just started just throwing throw it throw it uh all around. And it's like nigga, you you didn't have a chance. Like, nigga, you like you know, like this this is a lesson. Like, like I mean you're about to you're you're about to die. But it was uh the whole you know, the whole thing, like this, this the whole idea of the the ruler too, the like that that this this lesson in execution happened because Maul was Maul was no longer his disciple. Uh he upgraded. So there's all there's only there's only two darts at any given time. So the fact that these niggas was trying to do anything, it was like, oh, you forgot how things work. So like, yeah, and it was and it was like, yeah, your brother is incredibly powerful. Um so we're gonna uh nip this in the butt, like it's he's uh yeah, I was I was so delighted to see that he made uh that personal visit. Uh and uh and the way the fight played out was just uh it was it was beauty, it was music, it was so yeah.
