Welcome and welcome. No, I said that wrong. I almost said good morning. You don't want to say good morning because people watch it at nighttime. I'm gonna start over. Give me a second. Welcome back to the Blurred Spectrum Podcast. We are here today to give you another sighting edition, yes, of the Blurred Q review. But this time it is our quarterly anime review. We have been blessed with such a winter 2021 with all the crap that's happening in the world. The one thing we were able to turn to was anime, and they did not disappoint. Granted, some ended disappointing, but it did not disappoint in terms of what they gave us. And our panelists are here to talk about the anime that has given them such such such feelings, such emotions, even pause, as well as the anime during spring 2021 that we're currently watching, that we are thoroughly enthused. Uh, even though it's a little it's a little skimp. There could be a lot more, it's a little little skimp.
SPEAKER_06I mean, okay, you're you've had a difficult time finding something to watch. That's all it is.
SPEAKER_00It's it's skimp. Can't nobody tell me nothing. Anyway, uh can that's the sad part. They'll try.
SPEAKER_07I'm watching plenty.
SPEAKER_00Uh you're watching.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. But can't nobody, yeah.
SPEAKER_00But compared to the previous season, we'll do this later. So I'll introduce our panelists, starting with myself, Suchinho Shogun. Also, we have Kaze Shinryu. Yo, yup, we have Joe Ts G. We have Ms. Skittles, we have Saione and Alan Flame. Yo, we have the Black McCoy, and we have shampoo bracelets. Just trash. So, we're gonna give our panelists the opportunity to discuss at least one of the anime from winter 2021 that they were thoroughly in entertained by, what they thoroughly enjoyed, even the ones that they specifically were waiting for, and they were not disappointed. And we are going to start with Ms. Skittles. Which anime from winter 2021 uh that you watched, you know, from 20 into 2021, uh, that you know you were either expecting or you really wanted to watch, or maybe you saw something you didn't see coming and you just want to talk about it. What which anime do you have?
SPEAKER_08So this this is this has been on my heart for a long time. I've had conversations with multiple people about this.
SPEAKER_02Oh no.
SPEAKER_08And when I say, first of all, I'm I feel like it was it was definitely like a a most anticipated uh winter 20, was it 2020, whatever, winter 2021 anime. Um because we waited so long for it to come out. So with that being said, The Promised Neverland, um, I I know people who don't who don't even watch anime like that, who watched the seas first season and just could not wait for season two to come out. And when I say disappointed, like that, that that don't even like that's just like surface level word for for what what I got for this um from this from the second season of from the second season of this. I'm sorry, I just don't be stressed. So, so the first of all, off jump, we we're the whole thing was just bad pacing. Um from everything from the the beginning when when they first started out, you know, in the forest or whatever, uh from leaving their their their house or compound or whatever you want to call it a field. What was it, farms? Anyways, the farms, from them leaving, um to to be in the woods, like first of all, there was so many, there were so many things that just left unsaid, like undone, like ooh, like that whole Kumbaya sequence at the end where it was just over, like like Isabel, she she done, she done went into the new world. Everybody went into the new world, don't I mean they just knew what to do in the in the human world? They just you know, no social security numbers just out here, just like we don't really see no transition, you just literally ain't nobody asked where these people just came out of out of nowhere from the woods, like like what's going on, like and then just and then Ray. First of all, in in like the second episode of the season, Ray fucking snitched them niggas out and had them niggas uh running on the loose because he wrote down the damn coordinates on a fucking tree for the monsters to find. Ain't nobody we never we never go back to that. Like this nigga was a whole snitch. He he literally like revealed they location and shit to to the damn monsters. Like, look, I forgot I had makeup on and rubbed my whole eye face, anyways.
SPEAKER_06Um upsetting me and my homegirl, right?
SPEAKER_08The so I mean of course I didn't read the manga and from from my from what I researched and read, um there were so many stories that were that were skipped. There was so much character development and just a whole adventure that we didn't get to see at all. Um everything just happened so quickly from from like Norman showing up and and then we're like oh shit, like it's Norman, and then he like on some whole diabolical let's kill all these these um monsters or whatever, but but then like went soft because of Emma soft ass, and then like it it just it just irritated me so bad that that all of this happened in in one season with which the first season was fucking phenomenal for it to for it to just go downhill in the second season just like that. And and then and there was a whole half episode like it was literally a 6.5 episode, and I was like, what the fuck is this? I don't need a recap, I don't need a recap. I need you, I need I need you to get this story together because right now it's a whole lot of shit happening so quickly. I and and when I say the last episode, I wasn't expecting it. I definitely wasn't expecting them to wrap that shit up the way it they did. Just I just I'm sorry, I feel like I didn't even go into detail like I wanted to because I was like, It's okay with me and Kyle can help you because we were watching it too. I was just so flustered with the fact that like I said, I've had full discussions with other people on on just how trash this second season was, and and we we're still trying to figure out why because it's not like the show was bad, like the the first season did really well.
SPEAKER_06Like, did they not expect it to have more seasons or something?
SPEAKER_08I don't know. That's what's so crazy about different budget. Oh, is that what happened?
SPEAKER_03And I'm sorry, not different studio, different director.
SPEAKER_08Well, he fucked that shit all up. Who is this? Let me make sure I don't I don't watch none of the shit he directing. Cause like it just it made it made zero sense to me how they how they ended it because because like I said, uh from what I read, the manga was uh pretty long. There was multiple stories that we didn't get to see at all.
SPEAKER_03Um, so they also didn't put on a third season, so I think that's why they like rushed it, but it didn't help at all.
SPEAKER_08Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But like it is even if you're rushing a s rushing a season, there's a way to do things, I'm sure, that doesn't make it that could have been a little bit better at but at bare minimum than what they gave us. Like you don't introduce a whole like monarchy that we never heard mentioned the entire time, and then give us a montage of shit that happens afterwards. Like that's just so uncouth and just in general.
SPEAKER_08I'm like, it's it's a whole it's a whole monster kingdom and some shit, and like the niggas went back and freed all the kids or what? Like, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01I have no idea. Hold up. I just uh I'm I'm gonna listen to y'all because I said I didn't watch this, but as I'm listening to y'all talk about this, and y'all like so they skipped over that whole royal faction and the in the battle that was going on between that queen and all this. Like, it was a lot. I read that I read that late.
SPEAKER_08So it's like it was a lot of people.
SPEAKER_01I'm happy to watch the show that happy.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, like this whole thing with MM Demon Jesus, and I'm like, who the hell is that? I would have liked to see that.
SPEAKER_01There's a whole God, and there's like there's a gods of lobsters, and then there's also like a whole faction that was originally the original rulers, so that the new kids the new uh hierarchy came up into this spot. And then it was like not, so that's the ones that take it over and had and subjected the kids to all this bullshit. And then there's an agreement that wasn't talked about between the humans that are now in the new world and the humans and the monsters that are in the old ones, and that's what led to the kids being subjected to the to being grown and you know. No, they told us about agreement.
SPEAKER_06No, they told us about the agreement, but they glazed over, like, okay, well, you know, this is what happened, this is what decided like all these thousands of years, like a thousand years ago. So we've just been living like this since forever, since you know, a thousand years. And it's like, okay, but like then there were like details of like, okay, these kids, these people go back to the human world. And like like Tilly was saying, it was like, okay, um, but you how y'all just gonna show up here right out of the right out of a magic door.
SPEAKER_08They literally showed up at the drone, the montage had them living life regular, chilling.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Isabel had a whole game of government fucking uh interviewing these niggas. Like, niggas discovered drip and everything.
SPEAKER_01Like, yeah, they was on the drip, they were just like, Yeah, there's a lot that was they even changed that. They changed that too, because the way the engine goes isn't the same either. So it was like even with that door thing, they come across that door like twice. It was like like the the way that they even had that, there was a wish involved in where uh I forgot the uh the chick's name, but um the little girl that's part of the part of the big three. Um Emma, huh? Yeah, Emma had an agreement, Emma had a wish and an agreement that she made with the monster's guy, whose name I can never be able to pronounce or read. But like and it was like it was after they like they literally go through this whole story on where you find out about the other faction, there was a war between the monsters that went down. There was literally a clean ethnic cleansing that happened with the monster, and then it was like so seamless.
SPEAKER_05Like, oh, we found this little girl with this cursed blood. Let's go and just make her the queen. Like, we just had a little dumbass. No, it was not that simple.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was not, it was not nearly that simple. They even gave a backstory on a little girl in the magic. Like, they're like as I'm listening to this, I'm actually getting mad for y'all just because I know how much you skip for real. Like, it's like that was that's wild.
SPEAKER_07Bottom bottom line, this should have been this this should have been like a claymore or so eater, where they where they just gave us some bullshit ending that we didn't want but made sense. And that's that's not what they did. They they they gave us a bad season and then they and then gave us a montage of everything we would like to see over this season.
SPEAKER_01I'll give you I'll give you that partly for Claymore because that was bullshitting you, nobody really cared about. But what Soul Eater did that was sacrilegious.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, when you had this beautifully done anime, and then you fucked it all up in a half hour. Like, I just I couldn't understand literally, yeah. But that was better than this, especially if you don't know about I get I guess I don't know. I think I was I was a lot more pissed off at Soul Eater because so there was so much character growth, they spent the time to do all of the character growth for each fucking character, and then you just have this shit ass finale. I was like, what the fuck? Like we've been we've been waiting, we've been fucking doing hopscotch and and and jump rope with this, and then it was just a whack ass finale, like yeah, but you didn't black out yourself, uh but you got to not think about it no more.
SPEAKER_07It was like, oh well, well, that's it.
SPEAKER_09Okay, you got it and then Excalibur, like you know, I'm Sky, but like I thought this shit was gonna be fire. I thought we were going to some wild shit, and we didn't. So, no, like I would say yeah, no, mm-mm. Soul Eater, they could they they take the cake when it comes to fucking uh seasoned up.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, no, I I thoroughly disagree. You you got an ending. This is not an ending. This is not an ending.
SPEAKER_06It wasn't an ending, but not give us the ending that we deserved and or wanted.
SPEAKER_09It didn't, yeah. Soul Eater did not give us. I mean, the the amount of character growth, okay. Like when it comes to the promised neverland, it was a great season one, but there were so many characters, they didn't invest in a whole bunch of character growth. So I didn't feel so pissed off when they did it gave us a bullshit ending. But when it came to Soul Eater, I I felt that shit. Like you follow these characters, like multiple characters. Black Star had character growth like a motherfucker. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like you have Corona, you had all these characters, and then they just literally shot on your face with this fucking ending. So I'm like, Corona. Right. So yeah, no. But when it came to Promise Neverland, like um Miss Kittle said, there's so many loopholes. Um, especially with with the big nigga that was with the the the evil blood girl. Like, I mean, especially with G2.
SPEAKER_05But there's a reasonable level. Right.
SPEAKER_01They explained his reasons before that.
SPEAKER_09But you see, if you caught what he said, no, not the manga.
SPEAKER_01No, I mean, not the anime, in the manga. I'm sorry, in the manga.
SPEAKER_09In the in the anime, he said, you know, man, I remember back in the good old days when them humans they were running free. And I could just have a buffet niggas to eat. And I'm like, is it a crazy?
SPEAKER_05You trying to get like farm fresh.
SPEAKER_09Right. He wanted to get that farm-grazed human.
SPEAKER_05He was like, I like free raise people. He wants to free raise niggas.
SPEAKER_09I like free raised. He wanted to pick this shit in the in the fields. He was so happy with with niggas out here being free. But and I'm thinking, okay, that must be foreshadowing for this niggas going just eat everybody up. In my mind, I was expecting carnage that the big nigga was just gonna just kill all these kids. And not that I was looking for it, but that's what I was expecting. So when I when I see him and the little girl, like, no, we we rather not. I'm like, this is bullshit. Like, something I look for.
SPEAKER_07I know we knew he wasn't gonna kill the kids because he because he specifically wanted free range system, uh a free range kid. So he so he would have waited. But that's what I'm saying. And then there was random kids running around this demon world, and then he would eat them. Which is but that's what I was expecting. Yeah, but it's not that's not the context of the story that we were we watching these niggas, and baby.
SPEAKER_09I understand, but the thing is, it's like why put that oh, like listen, why put that shit out there? It was bad directing, you know what I'm saying? Like, why put that shit in the ether if that's not even what the fuck we got?
SPEAKER_07No, it was one of a million bad decisions, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Right. So, I mean, you know what I'm saying? I just I don't know, I don't know what's going on with that one, but I was disappointed as well with Promise Another land. The ending, Emma's a punk bitch. Like, I never seen a character I wanted to get eaten so bad, I want her ass to get fucking eaten like on the platter. I was waiting, like how she got me all that no, she is a punk bitch, like oh my god, we should just save these monsters that are fucking dining on us.
SPEAKER_08I think it was a nice balance between the three of them because right, so I feel like Ray was just Ray. First of all, Ray was a whole trader ass, snake ass nigga.
SPEAKER_03Ray just wanted the cake, that's all he wanted.
SPEAKER_08Ray wanted Emma from Jump, and and I feel like so, so you got like the snitch ass nigga, and then you got Emma, who's like light, love, joy, peace, everything.
SPEAKER_06And then I mean, I don't think I've separate because he just knew what was going on from jump, right? He was smart enough to be like, I just need to survive.
SPEAKER_08And then you have Norman, Norman, who was just like like the the brains of everything. Like he just knew what the fuck to do. Like he, if he if Norm, if we had a got to see whole Norman, you know, do his thing, like I feel like he would have in the manga. I feel like he he was he he he had the boss nigga mentality. Like he could he would have saved, like Emma would have saved everybody, but Norman would have done it in such a way that it was like strategic and like thoughtful. Like, but the way they the way they had Emma just turn this nigga into a puddle of mush, like forever, you know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_09For Emma, like for what? Like really, really, you know what I'm saying? It don't help that my fucking hair is orange like that, bitch. Like I just don't I I just don't like her. Like, I mean, I'm all for happy go lucky, I'm all for purity, and hey, it's the love, but that shit irked the fuck out of me. Like, I don't want to see that shit. I want to see Carnage. Like, I'm sorry. Like, you know, give me give me some shit to go on. And Emma being like, oh, everybody's forgiven. Fuck no. Like, you saw your niggas get chewed up on. No, everybody gotta die. I'm sorry. Yeah, like the fuck. So I didn't agree with that at all. I I would have just I don't know. I would have fed it to one of them them baby demons.
SPEAKER_10No, no, yeah, like the baby.
SPEAKER_07Like, you know, yeah, no. Yeah, no, I I I mostly enjoyed it. The Norman definitely folded to her too fast, but I think that's the season's fault, not Emma's fault.
SPEAKER_06Like there are some things that are just like the it's the all of bad writing and not the actual character.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, but like, yeah, Emma was definitely there to uh balance the other two, like you know, like she, you know, she was she was like the revolutionary. She was she was like the you know inspirational. I want, you know, I want I want to try to, you know, I want to go down the hardest road and get the best result. And then uh and then you know, and then little little little fake sides skate, he was the realist. And then, you know, Norma Norma was the genius, and they all you know, and they and they all kind of balanced each other out because you know, because it was uh because you know, because sometimes Emma had to let them know, like, wait, wait, no, there's a better way. And they're like, and they and they was like, no, no, we gotta go by efficiency, and we're like, we we don't just run off efficiency, we we nigga we we gotta we gotta we gotta have something hopeful to look forward to and build towards that's a real shit. We did niggas just get depressed where you just big go straight off the numbers and they don't and they ain't got shit to fight for that. You don't you don't you don't you don't have revolutions off of just running by the numbers and efficiency, that's not how that works.
SPEAKER_06If that were the case, we just be we'd just be running by robots, and that's just not how we work.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, it did it did beg the question though, like you know what I'm saying? If if if we were given the option to not eat meat at all, like you know, oh we can we can you know drink this little drop of blood so that we don't ever have to eat anything again. And I'm thinking in my head, damn, you know, I really like chicken a lot. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_06I love that's and that's that's that's part of it. Well, that little like kind of ethical dilemma is kind of like part of this, it's part of the problem, right? Especially on the demon side. And it's interesting because the more the the season two tried to do this, they did it in a very like kind of shallow way, but they are pretty sure the manga does a lot better job of it. But the the the demons and the human beings were not that different at all, which is kind of like the core issue as to why they came up with this entire situation. But like, I like I I think in a very like real and just try and be realistic about it. If for some reason human beings didn't have to eat me, eat meat anymore, like they absolutely would still eat meat. Because human beings don't continue to eat meat simply because it's just good for you. Because we know that there are ways for us to survive without eating meat, but we're just so fucking involved with the idea of eating meat that nobody wants to not eat meat. Like, I know too many of y'all right now who will continue to eat meat, even if it was so long, you don't have to eat meat.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, because it's even besides eating meat, it's just eating at all. Because I think it's like that's their only sustenance. So it's like take it further to could we deal with not eating at all? Because I didn't really see them like eating anything beside, like they weren't eating bread, you know, or chips on the side. They were eating chips.
SPEAKER_06But you know, that's real clear, but like conspiracy that was built up is like, you know, real clear better in the manga. But go ahead, Mark.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, in the ma in the manga, they the way they explained it is that the monsters were originally organisms that came up. Their what for meat was their what for evolution. They actually started out as organ as like little germs that originally started uh feeding off of the fish in the water. And then as they set off the fish in the water, they evolved and get uh they evolved to start feeding off the lizards outcome of the water, which gave them legs. And as they evolved further on, they would start eating gears, which gave them a little bit more intelligence. It wasn't until they started eating people in which they were like they started to become get sentient. And when they when they started actually eating people, when they started eating getting sentients, which is why they they feed off of people the way they do, because it keeps them intelligent, it keeps them going. The cursed blood from the girl was a mutation that she had. That when somebody else got it, they found out, oh, I can just hold this intelligence that I have and now be pretty much a person as a whole. So now they don't become like us until the cursed blood comes into play. They still need to eat, but they don't necessarily need to eat to continue to be sentient. Because that's why I said it's funny that they didn't show the uh other religion. Because the other, the the other sect of the family, the royal family, what their issue was was they had degraded because they hadn't had human meat in so long. So they started to degrade backwards and become more unintelligent, more.
SPEAKER_06This is like that's they very like they they lightly touch on, but don't give you any detail about.
SPEAKER_01And and that was so what so with the idea behind the cursed blood, and like the big dude that was with the girl who had who had the cursed blood, the idea behind him was it wasn't so much, and I'm kind of mad they didn't portray this. He was like, um, there's another guy, and I don't know if they showed him, there's another guy who they fight in this little like arena setting, and he is just big on the hunt. He doesn't even care about eating, he's big on the hut. He is literally a hutter. I like it's it's kind of to the to the idea that say anything was talking about where he's about the bloodshed, he's about that action. He's the guy that's in the street talking about bang, bang, bang. It's just like that's that's pretty much what he's about. So it's like so so the idea behind him, which they didn't explain well, was he's also a member of that royal family. He was the missing prince. So he was um, he wanted to go back to when they used to fight this, they used to fight in war. He was all about the action. That was literally all it was for him. That's why he liked the free reign stuff. Because the free when it was free reign, they were fighting, they were they were going at it, he was getting good battles, he wanted those battles. Um, so even with the idea of, and the reason why the monarchy wanted everybody to not have the cursed blood was because when you get the cursed blood, now everybody else is sentient without their need of the meat. If they're sentient without their need of the meat, they no longer have power over the people because the people are no longer afraid of going overgressing. Exactly. It's a class system. In all honesty, the kids are just cash. That's all it is. It's just money. It's just cash money. If we make the cash money, if you don't need the cash money anymore, we ain't got any power and we fall alive.
SPEAKER_09I like that.
SPEAKER_01That was a big thing.
SPEAKER_05We just I like that part. Yeah, exactly.
SPEAKER_01That's why that's why I like hearing that after reading the manga. It's like, man, I'm happy I didn't watch the first season, but I would have watched the second. But and I watched the first couple episodes, like like Dolly, also uh Dallow, she she tried to watch it, but shows like that, where it was like really slow, like that, she fell asleep for the whole season. So after that, I was like, you know what? We're just not gonna watch the show. I'll just read this manga, be happy with what I read, and then I'll keep going all my life. But like that, I'm really happy.
SPEAKER_09So uh to go back to what you were saying, the kids of the cast, would you say that the dumb kids were like pennies and then the rich kids are like a hundred-dollar bill? I'm I'm just curious.
SPEAKER_01So so the so the way that they the way that every farm had they had a class system, which is why you go off of Emma, Ray, and Norman, which were the three top students in that class. That was the reason why they were also held alive the long time. Because as long as you had top scores, they would let you live longer and let you progress longer until you hit or till you hit your teams, because that was the full bloom to them. So they were like, so so for Norman and for Ray and for Emma, those were the top three students all the time. So they were like, we're gonna let you keep progressing because the more progressive you are, the better the brains are, which means that now you're at that. You're the better your brain is, the higher your scores are, the better your physical attributes are. You are that a hundred dollar bill. You are literally those three. That was that was three hundred, that was three hundred dollars sitting right there. And that was why that was why Isabella Bob was the best one. She was raising nothing but hundreds. All she knew was cash what cash money, big cash money. It was like that that lead where where P. Diddy is sitting there looking through looking through all the hundreds, he's like, Where did this one come from? That's where ever, that's who uh Isabella is. Isabella is the person who's like, where did this one dollar come from? Who put this here? So like so that's and so she was she had the top farm, she had the best farm. Also, she was at one point two the best student. Yeah, so that's like if you depending on how good of a student you are, they won't necessarily eat you, they will move you to somewhere else where they can reprogram you and have part of that system as well.
SPEAKER_06So you can't just like it's like a classic, like capitalist, like produce your means of production type situation. Exactly. That's exactly why they like they want to turn him into a mom because she was good and what the fuck she did. She was good. But she would have took to be a mom.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so so the way it works out is yeah, it's almost like saying if we make these hundreds, we'll break them into fifties. If we make a hundred, we'll break it into fifty instead of trying to use the hundred, we'll just break it down to fifty, and then we'll use the fifties, we'll make more hundred, but we use that hundred to copy out type thing. It's like yeah, use money to make money pretty much. And that was the idea, that was the idea behind that whole monster hierarchy. And that's why I was like, there's a lot that they missed out. Listen, y'all talking about the anime, there was a lot that they missed out for on from the manga, which really talked about it played parallels with how the class system in the world works as a whole, and how what happens if that class system is broken up, you know, and then they also play off religion a lot, too. There's a lot of plays off religion that goes on because it's almost like the monsters are literally parallels of people.
unknownYep.
SPEAKER_01And then like and then they also show how the human family that's working with the monsters, how that whole thing started up. I don't know how deep they got into it in the anime, but it was like a lot of the whole thing.
SPEAKER_00So I'm gonna let the rage back and throw it to the next person.
SPEAKER_09All she had to say was this Netherlands ain't shit, and then we rolled with it.
SPEAKER_00So that's what she said. So it's y'all's fault.
SPEAKER_06So um blame because he's a mongerita, so he has more insight, so you have nothing else to say.
SPEAKER_01Oh, don't blame it on Mark. Um, so I'll take that blame. I'll be damned if I ever deal with these kitty ass animes and not know what they come from. I like okay.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh. So I'm gonna throw it over to uh Kaze. Uh not joking. Sione cosplay and talent flame. Uh, it is your turn to give us the anime from winter 2021 that you felt uh you wanted to give a review or your feedback or your insights on. Um, which one do you choose?
SPEAKER_09Okay. So only one. Only one. Um okay, I'll say Jujutsu Kaisen. Um for sure. And I know a lot of people will be mad at me because I know they're talking about this. But um Jujutsu Kaisen for me, I'll give the pros and the cons. It was a phenomenal, I would say new age um uh shonen for sure. Uh, you know, it it fell into the flow of bleach. It fell into the the flow of a lot of uh great uh fighter style animes. Um the pros is that the graphics and the villains were just so unique and and mind-blowingly beautiful. Um, even the powers, you know, it took me back, like I said, to bleach, you know, um them dealing with a lot of demons, um, also the going into different realms uh as like a like a kind of like a final mode per se. It was absolutely gorgeous. Um, and also the the villains are very complex. Um, you know, they had some um, you know, uh philosophical um views on why they do what they're doing, which was cool too, because a lot of times we see a lot of like linear villains, but you can kind of actually understand what they're saying in a twisted way on their end of why they were trying to convert people or why they had these sick diabolical uh you know ventures into what they're doing. So I thought that was great. And also the the the parasitic um marrying of uh the main character and Sakuna was beautiful. You know, you you haven't it is it reminded me of Parasite, um, you know, but with Parasite, they he actually wanted to eventually work with the main character. Whereas with um with Jujutsu Kaisen, Sakuna didn't give a fuck about that nigga. He didn't give a shit. Like, help me. He like fuck you, bitch. I didn't help a shit, nigga.
SPEAKER_06You remember when you posted that name or that bug's bunny name, it's like every like when Karama's like, Nago like Karama, help me. He's like, all right, Sakura, help me. No.
SPEAKER_09Like, no, like you're just mad, disrespectful. And I like that shit. Cause usually we're seeing like these um these symbiotic relationships that you know, at least there's a tug and a pool. And this nigga's like, I'm just in your body, I'm just waiting you fuck up so I can take over, you know what I'm saying? And and I just love that, and it was just so it was so grimy. Um, I would say the the con was the humor. Uh the humor in the beginning was out of place for me, I would say. Like they it didn't flow as well. I think as the as it progressed, you know, you started to see the bromance a little bit and there was a little bit more humor, but in the beginning, it felt like it was forced humor that was out of place. And a little bit of um, like what is it? Oh, when they want to show like like titty hair or ass there, fan service, like just kind of misplaced fan service. Yeah, like TV here, to it there. You know, so but um all in all, the fight scenes, I haven't seen those fight scenes um and and and the production constantly, uh, you know, from each episode back to back to back in a very long time. It was so constant that when they had a chill episode, we're like, what the fuck is this? Because we were so used to just constant like rumble. Um, so I really appreciated it. Um, what I would like to see more is I would say character growth um per se, um, because I still feel like the character is a little bit more linear. I want to see more character growth. Um, even with the main character. Um, you know, when uh he swallowed um when he swallowed Sakuna's finger, he was like, I bet I'll swallow it. I'm fucked. I'm like, it was just kind of just quick, you know. Uh and so I would just say just a little bit more character growth just to get no, you know, get used to the characters, um, get used to get to know like the um the higher ups as well. And um Gojo, uh the guy with the white eyes, I forget his name.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, Miss Kittle's got a husband.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, just to know a little bit more. Listen, when he can put you in a fucking void of a black hole, like I ain't never seen no shit like that.
SPEAKER_02I I was overpowered, overpowered as fuck.
SPEAKER_09You know what? Always watch the niggas who don't give a shit because they're the ones that are the most powerful, yes.
SPEAKER_08The mo that that swag, I love it. I love it. I don't fuck about nothing, and I can take your bitch ass out anytime I feel like it, but I don't feel like it right now. That's right, right. You ain't nothing but some light work.
SPEAKER_09You ain't nothing but some light work, I'm let my peasants deal with you first. Right. Who's gonna check? Right.
SPEAKER_05Right, raise your hands.
SPEAKER_06If you bought Sakuna, like, would you would you ever be him? He was like, would you win? He was like, I mean, I would have a hard time, but I'd still win. Excuse me.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, and also to um to go uh along with um shampoo bracelets, because I know they love music. Let's go with the music and the in the swag of the end.
SPEAKER_06Okay, can we just find can we take a moment to go to do the body roll?
SPEAKER_09I'm like, oh nick, go ahead, go, go.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's like I tell you every time that indie theme song came on in the first part of this season, sushi had a moment every single time. Like even if he was like sitting there in silence, this man would be dancing to do you couldn't help it.
SPEAKER_00It's it's a very soundtrack, is actually on my phone. I can't go to work without listening to that particular track. It's it's not a good day if I don't listen to it.
SPEAKER_05For those of you who don't know, the song is called Lost in Paradise. Thank you.
SPEAKER_09Yes, oh, it was phenomenal. It gave me um samurai shampoo vibes for sure.
SPEAKER_06And um I love it on my anime playlist, like yeah, and that's another thing.
SPEAKER_09You don't really see a lot of mirroring of like anime and um hip hop or soul or RB. So when they do, I just automatically fall in love with it because they have such a great like RB lo-fi feel that I don't we don't usually get to see in other animes or in any cartoons or any any other type of media per se that's you know not that's not like you know live action. So I really appreciated it. Um so that's my one babe you up.
SPEAKER_04What's your what's yours? Um, you had a whole list, my nigga. I didn't have a whole list. So I like uh that time I got um reanimate as a fun, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Reanimate as well.
SPEAKER_09First of all, I didn't I didn't even see it. Okay, I was just trying to help a nigga out.
SPEAKER_00That's fine. If you had sent your list, you would have known that that was my school.
SPEAKER_09Somebody extra soaking. Oh no, no, no.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm old bay right now.
SPEAKER_09Yes, extra extra baggy cubes and they food today or uh be disrespectful.
SPEAKER_04Yes, yeah, so like I'm I like Essayers, like I've been into Esetiz since uh Dark Hack side, and that's way back. So for me, I kind of liked it as you would think a slam would be the worst thing to come back as, and he became so overpowered so quickly. To the point now he's in the story where he's fighting people that are just as strong as him, if not stronger. So I kind of like the whole feel of uh the RPG of it all. That's pretty much it.
SPEAKER_02That's it. Yeah, that was quick.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it was quick to the point.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man, I think I'm gonna put some more pizzas on that shit.
SPEAKER_04Ain't no reason to put no herbs and spices.
SPEAKER_07That shit was going on.
SPEAKER_04I thought that shit on the grill like a steak.
SPEAKER_09Damn, it ain't got much season on there though.
SPEAKER_04No, nigga, salt made ass shit.
SPEAKER_09It ain't got no boxes, no magic shoes.
SPEAKER_00So uh yes, so the last the the last the the time I got reincarnated by a slime, I thoroughly enjoy this anime. Um I take it personally, uh, and that's the reason why I got so sensitive that uh Silent Flame took it. Um, there are certain uh there was character growth in this particular season. It it it took a lot of the characters from what we thought was just gonna be kind of like a fantasy slice of life into an actual anime. There was a lot more grime, there's a lot more fights, people died. Like, if you watched the first season, you really felt like, oh, this is gonna be happy and everything's gonna be cool. And this is the first time in this season where you're like, oh, shit, they're really throwing something at these niggas. And um especially the section where uh Rimuru uh became a demon lord, uh or was was forced to become a demon lord. Um, that was such an impactful set of episodes for me because I sat there um that morning and when I watched it, the reason why he had to become a demon lord, I I literally was angry, I was visibly upset. Uh black the black boy can can testify that I couldn't talk for a couple of hours because of how pissed off I was that they would do something like that to my niggas in that village. Like, like, how you just go fuck up Tempest? The just the Jura Federation does not uh uh endorse such travesties. You just can't do that shit. But shit got turned around. Uh uh uh Rumuru, you know, leveled up. He is now a uh a uh demon slime, uh, or is you know, demon slime, uh, as well as a demon lord. Um, fucking shit up. Uh the the anime in and of itself, I think is a it is a isekai, but the way that they went about doing it, it's not like, oh, this individual came into this world, they were superpowered, or uh they came into this world and they're an adventurer and they have to figure stuff out. He literally came upon the restart of his life. He got one choice, and the only choice he made was, you know, getting the ability to have kind of a sentient being uh give him the answers to certain things. Um, but he came back as a slime and he was, you know, found himself inside of the cave. Uh, inside that cave, he, you know, it it wasn't even a slow progression. We don't know how long he was in that cave because he's a slime, he lives for a long period of time, but he slowly progressed and absorbed things that made him stronger. So fast forward into this season where you know we leave off where it looks like there's incoming danger, but we're not sure what it is. And the first shit that happens is the village is attacked. Uh uh um the I can't remember the name of the name of the kingdom at this moment. Oh, Falmouth. The kingdom of Falmouth is, you know, uh um trying to start shit. Uh, not even trying to start shit, they started shit. And you know, Rumaru does not take kindness for weakness. Well, he they kept taking his kindness for weakness because he did not, he he gave the um the monsters, the ogres, uh, and the goblins, well, the hobgoblins and everybody else. He gave them the one rule of well, one of the three rules, and one of the main rules was, you know, don't pick on anybody who is weaker than you. And then another rule was, you know, let's not fuck with humans. Not that let's not fuck with them, but don't don't hurt, don't harm, don't eat humans. Let's be friends with these niggas. Don't don't raise your hand, don't show any violence towards humans. And he, and this is why he took what happened to the Jura Federation to Tempest so hard. It was because when the other armies attacked, he the the the monsters that were within the city did nothing. And they all they were just trying to figure out why are you doing this? Why are you attacking the city? Like the ones who are the strongest, yes, they fought back, but everybody else didn't do anything. And it was he took it as a personal, uh, uh, uh, uh personal thing that he caused um because he it's in his mind, he's like, I told them not to fight, I told them not to harm humans, I told them not to harm anybody weaker than them, I told them not to attack them or hurt them, and countless villagers got killed, slaughtered.
SPEAKER_06I think I think it was I think it was about a hundred exactly. Because they lined all their body ups. I think they gave an actual body count because you know they were because I remember when you were upset, you weren't just upset because you know such and such died, because you know, if you haven't seen the show, I don't want to spoil it. That's like that's the real name, but like when they load all the bodies out, like I I remember you like visibly being upset because that's how many people died, not only including those who did die.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and is and the funny thing is we had a partial part of this conversation yesterday. It the fact of the matter is Rimuru named each and every being and and villager within the Jura Federation, other than you know, the people who came from different places. And you know, every single goblin he gave a name. And you know, we were you know joking about it yesterday, but like Gobata. Goblina, Gobisha. Like he named every single one.
SPEAKER_07And himself, not just the name. Right. His soul.
SPEAKER_00His soul. He took a piece of his soul and put it on this being, this monster, and gave them a sense uh, I mean, they it's not like they didn't know things, but he he he created a new being. He created a new monster. He made them even more sentient than they already were. And to watch your literally your child at this point, a piece of yourself laying there on the ground slaughtered because of something that you said, I don't know why. I just I felt like I was a part of the village, my cousin got slaughtered. It just it it didn't sit well with me.
SPEAKER_06But I I think I I part I think I partly understand why.
SPEAKER_00Uh okay. Uh that takeback though, who that take back, the the the the slaughtering of what was it, 10,000 or 20,000?
SPEAKER_0610,000.
SPEAKER_0010,000.
SPEAKER_06Oh no, it was 10,000. But I'm pretty sure we took out all 20,000 in the motherfuckers.
SPEAKER_00That's true, because it was 20,000 souls. I remember it was it was double the amount that were there, but he only needed 10,000 to become a demon lord, and he did not disappoint. Like, I forget, I wish I could remember the name of the move, but that that that single one-handed water droplet through the brain, like the the the sheer amount of lack of mess, like it was so clean cut. And then offering them up to the uh the um the demon who was now his servant. Oh my gosh, it was magical.
SPEAKER_05The entire thing. Oh I still can't get over the the the puff of air. I make times every while, like three times. Oh, disrespectful.
SPEAKER_00It's so amazing, and I cannot, I was, you know, I felt, you know, I don't want to say I was satisfied because I was ready for it to continue, but you know, we have to wait for the next season. Um, a lot of things are on the horizon. I'm really excited about where they're about to go with the anime, uh, because now that he has all of these people under his belt, and we already know now that he's defeated this king, uh, well, not defeated. Well, he defeated him, but they're now in um uh um what am I trying to say? They are pretty much detained uh by the Dr. Federation. And you know, he slaughtered his entire army and all of his magical swordsmen and so soldiers. And at this point, the biggest thing I think everybody's waiting for who watches it is the level up. Every single one of the creatures who were named by Ruby are getting a level up. Some type of gifts.
SPEAKER_06I'm just saying, what gifts? What do you mean gifts? I don't want to see the gifts.
SPEAKER_00Some type of gifts. Are they weapons? Are they gonna look different? Are they gonna be taller? Are they gonna be buffer? Are they gonna have magical? Like, everybody's just waiting for this glow up. And and like the last thing we saw, well, one of the last things we saw was when Benny Maru was like, yo, what's going on? And rumors, though, don't worry, I got them. Go to sleep. When you wake up, everything's gonna be cool. I'm like, yo, you the security in that moment was like, What? You just gonna tell me to go to sleep? I'm the strongest nigga you got. Go go to I'm gonna go night night nigga. I'm gonna go night night nigga. It's cool. So, yes, that is that is my piece. Uh, I uh this wasn't even my turn. I I think I just did my turn, so I think I'm good. Um I'm gonna go ahead and throw it over uh to Kaze. Uh, what is your uh your anime winter 2021?
SPEAKER_07Uh my winter 21, 2021 anime is uh Mushoku Tensei. Ooh, jobless reincarnation.
SPEAKER_02I knew it.
SPEAKER_07Uh I am I'm I'm a very uh uh aesthetically driven person. Um and and and and and and I don't mean purely, but it's uh but you know, I'm I'm definitely doing a deep dive eventually. But but but when when you when when you when you are this pretty like when when every episode has a like movie budget, like it uh just the the the blades of grass, the strands, the pear, the Whirling of Clouds, oh my god, the particle effects. Oh like so so this could have been a much much worse anime, and I still and I still would have been very high on it just because it is so damn meaningfully pretty. But but the anime is also like just just amazing. Like we're you know, we're watching like uh more or less a worthless piece of shit. Uh Otaku who is reborn. And when I say that they they take they take they take their time and they are so careful careful with this with this characterization. Um he is unfortunate that he he has to he had to carry carry this per this permitro and and act on it as often as he does. But uh but but it it's definitely it's definitely it's definitely for uh forgiving because it it is it is look it is looked at as what it is and it's not just uh you know it's not it's not just taken for jokes. They that they is that they they certainly like the people you know the women like react more or less as they as each particular person would, you know. Some you know, you slap a girl's ass, some girls get excited, some of them some of them slap some of them, you know, every you know, everyone reacts how they react in the world, you know, the in the world does what it does what it does. Um but it's uh you know they definitely like take it day by day and showing how this grown ass man is getting by in this in this child's body, like like he was a baby like for like for a decent amount of time, and then he's a and then he's a toddler for like like a certain amount of episodes, and then you know, like you you are you you're literally taking it like step by step and seeing how he's getting from one stage to the next. Like I thought, like I thought he was gonna be in school by now. And and and he's literally like going on going on this adventure, still figuring things out every day as as the as the greater world and all and everything else is happening around him. It is like uh the characters are like really well done, even like you know, like his daddy a whole piece of shit, and I still like him. Right?
SPEAKER_00Cheat list Paul was on my shit list. Every every time Paul did something, I was like, Paul, you on my shit list, and then he slowly worked his way back. I'm like, ooh, I still hate you though.
SPEAKER_06It's because Paul was only good at like one thing. Well, two things, two things. He was good at using his sword in more ways than one. And that's all that man had going for him.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's it.
SPEAKER_06And the only things that really like showed his true like mastery of swordsmanship, like the non-x-rated version, was when he was teaching his son, this this reincarnated grown-ass man, about what it meant to have to fight and what it meant to be a warrior, and what it meant to have to adventure and exist in this world. Like the lessons that he taught him through battle, like through their training, was when was like peak Paul being a father, when he peaked Paul being being somebody who ain't shit, somebody who's not ancient. Like those were his moments. Otherwise, it was like nigga, you fucking up everywhere. When you fucking babe and they got the babe pregnant, dude.
SPEAKER_04What?
SPEAKER_07Oh Jesus.
SPEAKER_04I was like, oh no.
SPEAKER_07Oh, but but that was such that was such a good that that that was that was really the anime like letting you know like where they was, because like they wouldn't even a regular anime wouldn't even like approach that, much less like something like that's so close to like that's more or less like a shonen. Like that that that is not even on the list of things that a shonen would address. So the fact that this living maid had sex with the master of the house and and and the woman of the house and was upset about it.
SPEAKER_00She didn't just let it happen.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, oh yeah, yeah. Not only was upset, but in her infinite mercy, didn't kick this woman out.
SPEAKER_00And and wait a minute now, because she was about to don't don't don't don't forget now.
SPEAKER_07I'm about to end result. I ain't saying sorry, sorry, go ahead with some help, some cohesion from from this boy because good because she was like, she was like, Come on, mom, I want a little sister. And like, and you know, and and they appropri, you know, just the way they approached that in the uh you know, where she where she came to and he was in the they were when I say they were fucking fucking fucking like yeah, he was beating her motherfucking walls dead. Everybody in the house was listening, like yeah, and it was to the point where it was like wait, wait, wait, wait.
SPEAKER_08What's the name of this again?
SPEAKER_07I've been listening a little bit, but y'all, y'all, y'all saying it's a badness this time Mushoko Tensei or Jobless Reincarnation.
SPEAKER_02Okay, job.
SPEAKER_06It's not on Crunchyroll, I don't think. I don't think so. Let me check. But we'll send you some links, baby.
SPEAKER_08It's on Funation.
SPEAKER_06I have funation in Hulu.
SPEAKER_08I have Funimation too.
SPEAKER_06So oh, it's on Funimation. Oh, it's on Funation.
SPEAKER_07Yep, yep, yeah. But um, but no, it's so it's it's just it's so gorgeous. And like, and you know, and my favorite part is like with just getting started. Like, we spent so much so much time with him and these other characters that the you know, the uh this Braddy ads redhead they introduce like you know, she is like such a good version of that character. Like she, you know, she she she's like learned slowly, but but but when she but when she does learn that shit that's just that's in there, she's like you know, incredibly talented at what she's good at.
SPEAKER_00I don't mean to cut you off, I really don't, but can we can we appreciate for one single moment the way she cut that snake in two? Like Jesus Christ, like clean, like and and it's it's like when people say character growth, she got character growth within like a couple frames of that anime because when she hit it the first time, it did not give, and then she was like, hmm, let me get a little higher.
SPEAKER_07Like, oh, I had to try trial. Oh I I you know, and and that's you know, and that's one of the and that's one of the best things about the anime because that was that was a part of a bigger moment, yeah. Uh a less a lesser, more basic, like Shona type anime would devoted a whole episode to showing how strong she is. Yep, but but they did that while while covering like this intense fight and and covering the the the learning moment for Rudyus. Uh yeah, yeah, and his decision-making skills and and him deciding, you know, what you know what he what he knows and what he don't know.
SPEAKER_06What he thinks he knows.
SPEAKER_07Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And and real quick, like I I I like the fact that it, although some other isekai's do it as well, where they kind of disprove what the this this you know person who's been transferred to the other world, what they think they know versus what this world is supposed to be teaching them. Like in these scenes, Rudyus is because we already know he's uh he's an otaku. Like the only thing he knows is the little that he's learned from school and the stuff he's learned in video games. He doesn't know anything else. So in his mind, what he is using or utilizing is either excuse me, either stuff he's read, stuff he's played, or things he thinks will work. So when in these games he's playing these people in these other worlds, and he's you know, this is like the the you know, five steps to starting a game or starting an RPG, you gotta get money, you have to learn how to be an adventurer, start at the guild, do this, do that. And those are the steps that he's using based off of video games. So in this moment where he thinks, oh, I we just have to do this and do that, and we should be good, and he finds out very quick that it does not happen the exact same way you think is gonna happen. And I think that's such a crucial point and such a great parallel to what other animes or isekais do, where they like take a long time, either they let the character be exactly right, or they take an even longer time or a different way of showing them that they have to learn something different.
SPEAKER_06But this really with Rimuru, huh? Yeah, like character dying, oh yeah, like I think that's that's one of the things that that that I love between the comparisons, but because you just said it, it's like Rimuru took a lot longer to realize like with Rimuru, that took a lot longer to show him that. Yeah, they took two seasons in the end of the end of the second season to show him that the way the way in which you lived your life before or like the yeah, yeah, the way in which you live your life before as a human, and the morals and uh statutes by which you governed yourself, they don't work here, they don't function here. And like he said it himself in that in those, I think I forgot which episode it was. He's like, I've been trying to like it was after the slaughter. He's like, I've been trying to function as a human. Like I've I'm a slime now. I can't continue to pretend that I'm human. I'm not. So I have to act accordingly. Like, and it was like and for the more the more like visceral part of that was like, if you want to, if y'all want to treat me like a monster, then I'll be a monster. I'm not gonna be the monster you think I am, but I will be a monster. And but with um, but with um Rudius, he's just like his is more like a child who is not even in the literal sense, but a child who is continuing to learn that there that he's not fully prepared for whatever he thinks he's prepared for. And even though he was a grown adult and you know had you know all video games and school, the little schooling that he did have and all these other things, like he but he's introduced, he he is a pretty competent human being. Like, um better be a 34.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I said he better be a 34.
SPEAKER_06Right, you know, he's he's competent enough to be able to make decisions and to like outsmart other adults as a child, and that's partly because you know he's a child in their eyes. So he that they don't know that he's actually like 30, 40 some odd years old already, right before he's in the body. And so um it's it it it's it's fun, it's fun for me to watch those kind of degradations happen because it's like what you believe is meaningless here. Um, and it's not even so much that it's entirely meaningless, but it's it's not going to serve you in the way that you think it has. Because like the weird part with Rudyus is that the life that he had before, like he did like the what the way he was already like trying to function or functioning or knew how to function was barely getting by there. But now he had this restart. He's like, cool, you know, the way I know how to move and function and learn things is only taking me, it's taking me a little bit further. But it's like the more adventurous he goes on, the more he starts to explore this world, he's learning by like again and again and again that his way is not the way. It's not as it's not the way that he thinks it is. And then like even when he first encounters Ares, like, and she knocks the shit out of him for putting his hands on her. Like that that was that was like she puts hands on it before he oh yeah, but like when he thought it was like he thought retaliation to teach her a lesson was going to be it, like, oh no. And then, like, and it's and it's interesting because to I've I'm now as I'm reflecting on it, like more of the moments where he tries to like teach lessons about things are where he continues to fail because he has nothing to teach. Because even when he was trying to teach her a lesson during that whole like first kidnapping situation, even then, he found out very quickly that he was not equipped to deal with this situation.
SPEAKER_00The real situation, because you still thought it was fake. Yeah, right, right, right.
SPEAKER_07But go ahead, Kaze. Sorry. Yeah, no, no problem. No, it's definitely uh one one of one of my favorite things is that this is uh this easy this easy guy like moment for him is such a natural part of this growth, part of his growth, because he because he he was more or less like half a person, like he was not he was not socialized and and he was pretty much you know like raised or almost completely on these like video games, which is you know, and that and that's part and that's part of the reason why these situations keep coming up, because it's this this world is so there are so many parallels between his games and this world he's in. So so it's kind of so he thinks he knows what's going on because they're so similar. And then but then but it but it's like no, these are these are real breathing, you know, people who are working, these are not NPCs. Things are not gonna uh work like the way the way they uh play the game. Like, yeah, these these these people were not put here to in inform you, you know, based based on a bunch of shit. Like these these niggas live here and they're gonna do this, gonna do whatever whether you live here or not. So it's uh it's it's super interesting, like seeing him like learn and deal with his trauma, you know, based on how he was killed. Like, you know, like just you know, just just that moment of when he was scared to scared to leave the village. And his and his teacher like just kind of you know walking, yeah, like walks him through it. And he's just like, uh okay, yeah, this isn't that bad. You know, and that and that was like such a nice moment. It's is is is they've done a really good job just making it great. Growing with him and and seeing and seeing his lessons like uh just build on top of each other as and even as he you know discovers new problems as he you know gets better and better. Um it's a treat to watch, it's a treat to think about, it's a it's a treat is think about what's happening.
SPEAKER_00The the the overarching world is like is opening up and that yeah, and that's just uh still I'm still trying to watch uh uh just just lane fight this uh fight this uh of the uh of the Lord God knight, whatever he is, because he came at the wrong one. You know what? But we're gonna wait. We just we're gonna wait till she comes back.
SPEAKER_07It's coming, it's coming. I'm every time I spread the gospel about this, I'm still trying to spread the gospel.
SPEAKER_00So Miss Gittles is another follower. Is that what just happened?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, matter of fact, I'm gonna send her the storm. I'ma I'm gonna put the link in the chat so everybody can bless their eyes.
SPEAKER_06Sends Giddles, like you got you better let it move you.
SPEAKER_00She might have started watching this shit today. Okay, so uh thank you, Kaze. So we're gonna go on to the Black McCoy. Uh, I know you have a plethora of anime that you've watched within the last couple of months. Which is the one for winter 2020-2021 that you would like to share for our review?
SPEAKER_06Um, the one I so I I remember recommending this anime like the last review we did, but um, now that I've you know gotten through the full cause and I've gone through the full season like I I'm entirely I'm recommending it even more. Um, and that is Wonder Egg Priority. Now, Wonder Egg Priority is not like a heavy-hitting shonen anime, it kind of participates in some shonen tropes. Um, it's very much it's closer to a slice of lifestyle anime with like little girls in trauma. Uh but it like story-wise, it is one of the most interesting developmental like anime that I've ever seen. Because if you have this premise of these little girls who are going on these very like life-changing adventures in order to revive a dead friend. Now, that dead friend is always another little girl, and that little girl is dead because these little these little girls are trying to save have committed suicide. And so they the way in which they're going about this is that they they have these little things called wonder eggs and they they break them. And each little each one has another little girl in it who has killed themselves um for some reason or another, right? And the the the way in which they have to free their own, free their own person that they're trying to, or revive their own person, is by helping these uh these other girls overcome the trauma that drift that um push them to commit suicide in the first place. So um that premise alone was already super interesting to me because I love like watching characters have to go through very harrowing, you know, um experiences in order to bring themselves to a point of not necessarily just revelation, but you know, go through that kind of character growth through like experiencing or kind of helping other people and realizing more about themselves in the process. And it's like at first you just start off with one little girl and you end up you know in a in a group of four of them, four of them, and the the journey that they take and learning more about each and every one of them and um the lives that they had is is super interesting, and the show itself is absolutely gorgeous. Like I say confidently, I feel so sorry for people who only watch shown in anime because there's so much beauty that they're missing out on in shows like Wonder Egg Priority, because like even if like I wasn't invested in the story that was going on, I could just sit there and stare at it because everything is so vibrant, the art style is so smooth, the the fight scenes that the fight scenes in the show are absolutely like astonishing. I have seen so like I have seen so I'm surprised that when we were doing our Only Hands tournament, I didn't put anything from the show in there because it's absolutely beautiful. Because it's like you watch these small girls get these little magical items out of these everyday things. And because they're like they're like everyday little totems in their own personal lives that they use to help other people overcome certain traumas and you know potentially get revived later on. And I I I really have to say that to in to to watch this show is a very fun process of like self-examination. And it's it's very it's very latent with a lot of things that deal with, you know, I like it's it's of course deal with suicide, um, deal with things like sexual abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, um, like like stalker. Like it deals with it's a very like it's a very robust show in that it it handles very triggering things in this very calming and affirming way. And I think that's really, really hard to do for most things that people view on TV, most cartoons. Like the only other show that I have known to do to handle things like that in a very palatable way is Steven Universe. Like I don't know a lot of like cartoon shows or cartoons or anime that are able to handle very sensitive content in the way that this show does, outside of this show, Steven Universe. And I'm sure there's like a couple others that have kind of touched on some things, but not in not in this very like upfront way in which um Wonder Egg priority does. So I would say like if you're looking for a show that has like a lot of great depth, a lot of beautiful artwork, something that's very emotionally driven, something that also has a lot of you know amazing fight scenes, something that has very creative um like character designs, as well as uh goes with like a creative storytelling model, um, and a very unusual, kind of trippy um just kind of like landscape overall. Um, with you know, some more realistic things to take realistic takeaways, then Wonder Egg parody is definitely a show I'd uh absolutely recommend. Like it's it's it's it's it's it's it's top tier, it's A1, and I don't think it gets the attention like far, like I don't think it gets the far-reaching attention and praise that it deserves as a show.
SPEAKER_07Uh I mean yeah.
SPEAKER_08I haven't seen it, so um, so yeah, it might be you know one for y'all know me, I'm a shone he, but you know, the the way the way Gwen attacked the show and people. Yeah, the way this uh uh read me for filth, you know.
SPEAKER_06I pick it out just because like uh shone he so yeah I like you know you you still you you still you still top tier everyone in my life, that's all that matters. Not even everyone, you up there you eight five.
SPEAKER_07But no, yeah, I watched it, uh I watched it with them and yeah, it was it it's so unique. It is like the thing, the things they've had to say and the and the way that they've uh and the way that they decide to show it. I love I love it. It's it's it's that it gave a very strong um uh persona uh persona vibe uh in the way that they uh kind of put personify the uh the issues and traumas that people go through. Um so uh I mean honestly it's not it's not a it's not a good show, but but the way the way that they uh give people kind of the tools to kind of deal with a lot of these deeper issues, I think will be uh very good for certain people. Just you know, just giving your problem uh a face and saying the things you need to say to it, you know, versus versus this very like uh you know, cloudy uh weird concept that you don't actually know how to like you know attack or put hands on. Um I will say that it definitely the way it ended definitely raised more questions to the answer.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that that's that that is the only critique I can actually get it. And I tried to avoid it, but you brought it up. So like I think it and I don't know if it's because it's suffering from like a promised neverland season two play situation, because they don't think it's gonna get a second season, but like the it was like I want to say the second to last episode of the season. Um was it yeah, yeah, like they they did this entire backstory, which like alluded to so many other things. It's like wait, but then the show itself has one more episode to like round it off. It's coming out, I want to say in June.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, yeah. I I think I think the big thing is that part of the part of the beauty of the show was the simplicity, and and they and and the story was told in such a way that there was obviously these other things going on that was that was forcing everything to happen. But they the the story was so uh intimate that you were fine not figuring out how this world works. And and then those last few episodes, they like start just did they kind of give you an info dump. And it's like, oh, I wasn't wondering about that, but now that you told me, that's kind of weird. It's like now I have questions.
SPEAKER_06I was kind of complicated before and except like I had qu I like I already had questions before, but I was like, I was willing to suspend those questions and for the sake of how intimate the story was, like you were saying. And it's like, oh, oh, so now you're gonna tell me things. Oh, now I have more questions because now some of this isn't making sense.
SPEAKER_07Yep, yep. So we'll so we'll uh we'll definitely have to revisit this uh when they when they uh when the next season comes up, see how they uh follow up.
SPEAKER_06Phenomenal because remember they said like because when we saw them, when we were looking at more online, they said that uh they were gonna drop uh I I don't know if it was a series or season finale in June. And I don't know if that's gonna be the end of the show or just like them trying to end this season. So I'm hoping it's just the end of the season and we get more and we get another season and get more some of those questions answered because you know there might not be uh because the last episode was like a pretty huge cliffhanger, so I don't know what they're planning on doing.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06It's a special, whatever that is. Oh, that means it's over.
SPEAKER_03I think it's also supposed to dive a little bit more into the last episode because apparently that like last episode in the other uh what do you call the other world? Um, that version of I actually died. So I guess they wanted to dive more into that in some ways and explain it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah, yeah. But she had to like save herself, and it was interesting. Because like that is the part. I mean, not I'm actually never lying, it gets too much into spoiler territory. So if you want to watch the show, please do.
SPEAKER_03But yeah, yeah, yeah, no, I'll do. We still have a panorama. Watch it.
SPEAKER_00I believe Wonder Egg uh is on Funimation. I do not know.
SPEAKER_03I'm not sure. I don't know.
SPEAKER_06You know, we have so many alternative uh viewing platforms.
SPEAKER_00Yes, it is on Funimation if you want to go and watch Wonder Egg priority. So, since Joe TSG, you got the news on the specials. Question What is your winter 2021 anime?
SPEAKER_03And if you could give us a little bit about it, wrong time for me to play Monster Hunter right now. God damn it. So uh what did I say? Oh, actually, I was expecting Gwen to not choose Wonder Egg cards because I actually want to choose announced. But all right, I'll go back to um Storm of Spider-Shore. Um that was that is my um top choice for last season. Granted, it is still going. Yes, uh, so I can't really give a full like review of it because it's I'm sure people are gonna be watching it. Um, but basically the premise is is that this girl basically died um and she's reincarnated into another world as a fighter. Um, and it's her the first season for the first half of the first season is pretty much her just trying to figure out like her powers and leveling up. Um the what graphs me from what grabbed me through this anime has been the PGI. Usually I don't like it in anime at all. Um, but the fight scenes have been so fucking polished and so cool. Um and the cool thing also about the anime is they have this habit of going back and forth between perspectives um between Kamo Kamo, I can't pronounce her name. I think Kamo? Komoko, yeah. Um and uh the humans that were also reincarnated. You find out that it's like a different timeline and I know, I'm I'm I'm I know. But timelines play a lot a huge part in there. Um there's some like classism going on in there. It's cute. Um the soundtrack is fun.
SPEAKER_00It is, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um it's definitely I I would definitely put it up there as one of the best ether guys. I think uh because of that show, I like after watching All Verizon because I couldn't. I don't know what the fuck was going on in that feather. Um yeah, yeah, yeah, that's it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Golly, motherfucker. Sorry. Uh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I would say uh for uh Yes, I'm a spider, so what? I I'm thoroughly, I'm thoroughly enjoying the anime as well as uh Joe T said. It is still continuing uh right now. And um, you know, the without giving anything away, the thing I find the most interesting, well, one of the things I find the most entertaining about it is how in depth that they're going with the evolutionary process, the skill learning. Like at first I thought, you know, it was just gonna be like another isekai where, you know, for example, the ability to appraise and see the other person's abilities. So, you know, you appraise, you can see their classes, their stats, their levels, stuff like that. And, you know, normally in some isekai's, it's just the person who's been reincarnated who can do that. But in this particular anime, um, anybody who has any match, any ability, actually. I think I don't, I think for the most part, well, we haven't seen any regular individuals do it, but anybody who's had any fighting experiences, mages, swordsmen, anybody has had the ability to try and either appraise or see the abilities of somebody else. Um, I think it's a skill you have to learn, though. But I do know like the mage in the in in the anime was able to appraise other monsters, were able to appraise. Um, and then depending on how strong you are, you can uh block appraisal from weaker individuals if you so choose to, or if you have that ability. So, you know, already off the jump, it's like, okay, so everybody has the ability to level up, um, evolve. Well, monsters have the ability to evolve. I don't know about humans just yet, but everybody has the ability to level up uh and you know, attain certain skill sets and and uh moves. So, you know, not just talking about the protagonist. If you look at any, you know, when she's fighting certain creatures and she's like reading off their stats and she's seeing like these different uh uh abilities, these different uh um titles, these different movesets, and she's like, You have all of this, and you know, just the comparative nature of, you know, and then you know, the fact that anybody can learn anything for the most part, although you might be a spider or a dragon or a gecko or a monkey, anybody, as long as it is within your um your evolutionary web of abilities and and monsters, uh talking about the monsters, of course, you have the ability to learn almost anything. And based off of certain things that you do, you also have the ability to learn things as well. So uh uh, for example, if you kill somebody of your own uh race or um race, race, race, species, race, yeah. Thank you. That's the word I needed. Species. Um, you may gain the class of uh what was it again?
SPEAKER_06Kim Killer or something like that?
SPEAKER_00Well, it might be sibling killer or um yeah, something of that age. Sibling killer, yeah. So sibling killer, and that can lead you to a skill or a title called taboo, which then leads you on a whole nother path um or web of abilities that you could potentially you know uh uh come across and you know absorb. So for me, I thought that was an excellent addition. Like every time I'm watching the anime and she levels the main character levels up and she reads all of her skills. I pause it and I sit there and I just look at all the read all of them. Okay, she's on occult level occultism level nine. Okay, the skill of taboo level one. Oh, she has stealth level 10. Look at that. Like I go through every single one just as because I do the same thing in video games, just to see what she potentially has the ability to do in the next scene or against the next enemy or the next boss.
SPEAKER_06But that's just especially because it's very like MCU style because they dump a lot of information in those moments. It's like they put this huge block of shit she gets when she levels up. So it's like okay, like you might you just have to pause it, unless she's already talking about specific things. She's like, oh like if you want to see everything she's getting, like you have to just stop and just look at everything in these lines.
SPEAKER_07So you can yell at her. Also, true. She's getting her ass whooped.
SPEAKER_04I'm like, girl, you lose it to levels a couple.
SPEAKER_06Uh so uh if you want to watch um oops, I know I want mosquitoes to watch this so badly, but I also don't want to put her in that situation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, no, no, spiders. You can't don't do it. Nope. Because spiders. So, yeah, so I'm a spider. So what? If you did want to watch that, it is on uh Crunchyroll and VRV. So, you know, check it out if you would like to. So uh moving on to our last panelist, uh, we have shampoo bracelets. Uh, what was the anime or animes uh that you uh from 2020 winter 2020, 2021 that you wanted to review or talk about?
SPEAKER_09So I was trying to decide if I wanted to talk about We Zero or Cold Black, but I think I'm gonna talk about Cold Black.
SPEAKER_06Wait, sells at work?
SPEAKER_09Yeah, Sells at Work, Cold Black.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I was confused. I like that right. Um, so that was one of our top animes that we watched. That thing had me engaged from the first episode to the last episode. I honestly just thought the whole body was gonna die. There was not gonna be, you know, a revive, he was just gonna be dead. If if that show doesn't teach you how to take care of your body, child.
SPEAKER_00I mean, because Moses Jones didn't do it.
SPEAKER_09No, you need to run to the doctor after watching that. And it was funny because like one of our friends had like one of the episodes was literally based on one of our friends, and we was like, hey, you should go watch this episode so you can learn about what you're doing to your body. The alcoholism, the I need a little blue pill. Um, yeah, that's the thing.
SPEAKER_05The stage talk about the rectangle dysfunction and everything. Oh Lord.
SPEAKER_09Yes, yes. Um, but I will say, uh anyone who knows me knows I like medical dramas, so I watch a lot of Grays Anatomy. Um, so this was just really up my alley. I watched the first cells at work and it didn't grasp me as much as Cole Black. I don't know if it was because it was different. They switched up the characters in it. Uh, of course, the white cells were my favorite because I just thought they were boss bitches.
SPEAKER_06Because they were violent, you can say it. It's okay.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you violent for a good reason, too. Thank you.
SPEAKER_06Um they gave they gave they gave they gave you the adrenaline rush you needed.
SPEAKER_09You know, I mean, hey, you're right with your body. So you don't have to work so hard, okay? And then we got to send out the T sales, which was which gave no fucks during the whole season when they had to come out so much that they had to be.
SPEAKER_06Maybe the macrophages, though, that's where it's at.
SPEAKER_00You and these macrophages. You and Syonate cosplay in these macrophages.
SPEAKER_09The macrophages are the most bitches in the body. Macrophages is is it. Like, what do you call that macrophage is like hey, this will fuck you up.
SPEAKER_06Like, she was like, she was like made cafe. So, like the macrophages like made cafe meet something, like the the things from Solid Hill.
SPEAKER_08Yes, but oh man, that that like I love that.
SPEAKER_09She's like she's like that quiet cell that's only activated when everybody else can't do their job.
SPEAKER_08So yeah, you gotta watch out, you gotta watch out for the silent ones, the little quiet ones. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06Sound like that.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, exactly. Exactly. I do hope they're not um cold black though.
SPEAKER_02What'd you say?
SPEAKER_09Um, I said I do hope they do like another cold black, but with like a female's body this time, because I think that would be interesting to see them do it with a female's body, because I think the last two seasons have been with a male's body. I think the first one was a female, I think the first one was a female. I will say that. Okay. If you look at all right, so with code black, all of the white blood cells were women. And in the first one, all the white blood cells were like men, like but like, or they I think they were there are men and women, but specifically No, and in the original cells that worked is all the white blood cells are men.
SPEAKER_06They were men.
SPEAKER_09There were men. So I mean, I'm thinking like in I guess in a heterosexual way, if that's how they want to play it off. I thought that maybe all of like the first body wasn't was a woman, if that's how they're trying to do it. And then the second one, because all the white blood cells, there are like there sorry, the first one it was all of them were men, and then the second, the cold black, all of them were women with like biddies all out and shit. What the fuck is this? So I was thinking, okay, maybe it must it must be a male body, and then I saw the ejaculation scene with the fucking sperm. Yo, like that with the little with like little floaties. It was so disturbing. They had a fucking dude. They had a head and their head was out, they're swimming just like fucking tadpoles. That was disgusting. Because then for me, I'm thinking about I'm thinking about sex and I'm thinking about the little head swimming and shit. I'm like, I don't think I want to do this no more.
SPEAKER_06But it's the way I can't even say pineapples because it's really very specific.
SPEAKER_09It was strange, but um, I I did like cold black. I liked the regular cells at work more. I I don't know why, yeah, like cold black, it wasn't what I wanted it to be. Like for some reason, the regular cells at work, the gory was more shop value than cold black. I don't know if it was the gratuitous amounts of blood in such a happy, go lucky anime versus cold black, where the blood didn't hit, it didn't hit for me. I think I made the mistake of watching cold black before I watched the regular version or the regular one. So then now my mind's all set to everything that's cold black, where I should have watched the regular one first, but we just kind of yeah.
SPEAKER_06Sam and I and I had that conversation because it was like, what is it about cold black that's not really doing it for us? It was like cold black is if you watch the original cells that were before you watch cold black, it's like okay, we know that the what the blood cell, white blood, but you know, the the white blood cells are like the neutrophils are violent because they do their job, but like when you get to cold black, where it's supposed to be a more serious situation, it's like it doesn't hit as hard for us.
SPEAKER_09It was the fan service. I think that's really what fucked it up for me. Like, I don't yeah, I'm like, I'm all about titties and ass. I love that shit. That's great. But but you know what I'm saying? But when it's just out of place, like I don't want to see this.
SPEAKER_06Like for me, it wasn't even like the fan service. I guess it was like I wanted to see like it's if the body is cold black, I wanted to see more like high stakes um bodily, you know, like like problems. Like I agree, but we deal with something like cancer, or but we deal with like something like really intense, like oh the like the body's blacked out. Like, what do we have? Like, I wanted more high stakes, like I wanted more high-stakes health problems.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, I wanted them to dive into mental illness more too, you know what I'm saying? I was looking at that too. Yeah, I was like that. They said he was depressed and he kept gorging on you know drugs and alcohol. They could have said he had some HIV or something, like, come on, give me give me a little bit more. I see this STD, but uh he had diarrhea. That shit was wild. But I mean, you could add crabs, you know.
SPEAKER_05Well, crabs is more like uh crabs is like crabs is external, that's not really it's a problem.
SPEAKER_09But even but it's still on the dermis or epidermis, you know, but it's still a part of the body. So you know, you could still go kind of like it's still the body, it's still cells, you know. So you could still you still. So much to like osmosis Jones to me was great because osmosis Jones it gave you that feel when you had that virus and the nigga was hopping on the the the fucking brain and shit like that and the neuron like I loved osmosis. I feel like cold black should have been on that because I felt like the world was ending with osmosis Jones. Not if like we could have had like some hay fever or something.
SPEAKER_06Like yeah, we like we don't we don't get that sense of urgency with cold black.
SPEAKER_09No, that was that was my biggest disappointment with cold black and the blood, the blood for me, it just wasn't it wasn't the same. I think because yes, we're expecting more, but with regular cells at work, it was so out of pocket, it was so out of pocket. It was like watching a children's show and just seeing heads getting, you know, just this murky. I'm like, yo, this is the shit for me. Like, I like this shit.
SPEAKER_06It's just a position. Yeah, it's not just the position.
SPEAKER_09I did eventually go back and watch the regular one, how the white blood cell was trying to keep the red blood cell safe and he was creeping around, so she didn't know.
SPEAKER_06I thought yeah, that was a cute episode.
SPEAKER_09It was cute. I like, yeah, and and um also you know, I learned a lot about the different white. I love the cancer episode. I think that was the last episode.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but they were they were teaching the reason why I like the first cell.
SPEAKER_09That wasn't the cancer one.
SPEAKER_04No, the first cells that work. What I'm saying is like they are always trying to teach you something.
SPEAKER_09Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like I missed that.
SPEAKER_09Yeah, the second one, it was just rushed. Like, even um, there was the there was a certain white blood cell or a family of it that will kind of kill the blood cells that are old or dying. And it was the one that kind of had that kind of like belly dancer, uh oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06What are we talking about?
SPEAKER_09Which was cool because I didn't know about that one, but even still, I felt like the information was spamming, whereas the first one they really broke it down so that you can kind of like understand it and and and keep it in your mind. But this the solo that were called Black was just like it was spitfire of information for me. So um I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would, but it was it was still like you know, not bad.
SPEAKER_06It could have been more fun.
SPEAKER_08I was gonna say, um, as far as the title, like the whole Cold Black situation, I think because in in Code Black they touched on you know, like taboo type things in the body versus the first one was more like generalized things. So I think that that's the whole reason behind the whole Code Black.
SPEAKER_03Wait until you see the pregnancy spinoff.
SPEAKER_08But oh my gosh, but yeah, um I I definitely agree um with um Sayon A and the Black Cosplay. I mean the black McCoy. The black McCoy.
SPEAKER_06She is dead today. We hold along.
SPEAKER_08I am okay, yeah. So um I definitely think like the the first season was more of like a learning like thing when they went into detail with things like that. So um, but yeah, um I I mean I enjoy Code Black. Um, but yeah, there was there was some fan service in there. I mean, I don't mind fan service, but there was some fan service in there. So yeah.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_00So uh for all the listeners who want to watch either uh uh Sells at Work or Sells at Work Code Black, you can watch that on both Funimation or Crunchyroll, either one, pick your choice. Um, did you have a separate anime that you wanted to talk about, or was yours also code black?
SPEAKER_01I didn't realize how much action was in this season, the last shows of the season. Like we already talked about some of them separate or like whole separate things like ReZero stuff like that. There was one show, um, two shows actually that I wanted to give mention to. Um, quick mention to Kimono Jihen. Yep, which is uh it will, it's a it's almost like the other side of the Demon Slayer to me. Um I but it's not as interesting, and art isn't nearly as good looking. Um and it's pretty much just follows this demon kid who finds out he's a demon kid, and then you know he goes into uh pretty much he was mistreated his whole life, so he has like no emotions at all. He feels nothing, and he has this regeneration of strength that's amazing, and he comes across this fox demon, or no, I'm sorry, Tanuki Demon. Tanuki demon. And uh who runs an agency that was kind of like uh a detective demon agency, and that demon is gonna help him find his parents. Ultimately, it's just born shit. So it's a it's uh to me, it was just it was one of those, it was one of those um show-nins that just didn't grab me the way I wanted to. The characters are very uninteresting to me, a lot of tropes and that, but um it's just not the show I thought it was gonna be. And in the statute, I didn't really think too much of it because I still haven't. I tried to read the manga on top of that, and I couldn't even get that far into the manga, then didn't grab me um the way I thought it would. But uh one show that did grab the shit out of me, I didn't expect it. It's called Skate Infinite. I don't know if anybody watched this show.
SPEAKER_06Oh, Joe CSG is in love with Skate Infinite.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, this this show is literally X Games, the the like Pretty Boy X Games, explain what this is. This show is absolutely amazing. Like I love the the opening music to it. I love the characters, um, especially the like it's the debonair characters pretty much what if what if Bruce Wayne had like was really into his sexual fetishes, like just like really into this shit. Like it's like it's like I I enjoy watching every character and how they how they like how they pretty much their personalities match their skating style so well. Um, even down to the main character where he was a snowboarder is just getting even skateboarding, and when he finally makes his board a long board and with his foot clamps too, it's almost like it clicks to him. Like it becomes the easiest thing in the world for him to to all of a sudden skate just because of that that change. Um the art is absolutely amazing. I am more of a fan of the music than I thought I would be. Uh just because like I get like I guess the the slight synth with rock um aspect that they have in the music kind of interests me a lot more than I thought. Um but mostly just the art style and races as a whole are portrayed incredibly well to me. I think the the the fact that they take this whole they they take the whole idea of a downhill race that you would normally see with like cars or drifting or bikes and put it towards skateboarding, I think it's done incredibly well. Especially when you start to see the art and skill behind some of the people that are on the boards and the tricks that they're able to pull, which yes, you gotta disband this belief on some occasions, but there are some moments where it needs to be some realism to some of these tricks. And uh they you know they they try to keep it as fanciful as they can without making it too out of the way for you to believe it, or like see, okay, this possibly happened, like Tony Hawk could probably do some shit like that, or you know, somebody else of that ill. So it was it was um it's a fun show to watch. I recommend everybody just give it a shot. Uh like I said, the uh the story for the most part, they kind of just take the Fast and Furious approach and like look, we're just about to be racist, and uh this is the races in the action. Don't pay attention to the dialogue too much, don't do that, but like it's like just come back to the races and and and BS, you know. So it's it's a fun, it's a very fun watch. I was very, very pleased by that.
SPEAKER_00All right, awesome, S. So we have a couple of uh other anime that our panelists have talked about in the past on previous episodes of this particular season. Uh, without going into any detail about them, we'll just list off their names and they're also anime that we could talk about if you show wants us to. Uh, that being ReZero, which was uh amazing anime that several of us have uh followed from the first season all the way until the second season's uh and the second part of the second season. Umly a couple of us, and when I couple, I mean two, are interested in talking about Black Clover, uh, that uh we enjoyed being in the last uh uh currently the last season of the series. Uh another anime that came out in winter 2021 uh was the most recent season of uh The Seven Deadly Sins. Yes. Uh it's still ongoing, uh, but it is something that some of us are watching. Um have a movie coming out, don't they? They do. Uh also Border Too, Naruto Next Generations is continuously ongoing. Uh, so that's another one that some, not all, of our panelists are currently watching. Um two anime that some of our panelists watched that they were you know talking about. One was King's Raid, uh, which was a very, you know, interesting anime. Uh it kept some of our panelists' attention. Lost a couple of other ones. Some of them watched it all the way to the end and was disappointed by the ending. Not as bad as uh um uh not as bad as thank you. How'd you know? Not as bad as The Promised Neverland, but uh it was still a uh very interesting ending, uh seemed kind of rushed. Uh another one, personally for me, was my second choice after um the uh time I was reincarnated as a slime was World Trigger. Uh, not many people know about World Trigger, it's an anime that originally came out several years ago. Uh, they finally came out with a second season. Uh honestly, what happened with the first season, uh they kind of said it at the last episode of the first season was that um their studio wasn't about to keep doing it, so they're running out of money. So they said you may or may not see us in the future. And now they were able to do the second season, but then they said the exact same thing at the end of this season that you may or may not see us again. So there's hope wishing that they get another season to support it or some more money. But World Trigger is an amazing anime. Um, I thoroughly uh enjoy it. Um, and I believe you can watch it on uh crunchy roll. Um, I believe so. You can. I think it's on Funimation too. The season two. I didn't see it on Funimation. I know for a fact it's on Crunchyroll, but we'll check if it's on uh uh uh Funimation and we'll you know share it on um Instagram or something. Uh also um Yasha Hime, Iniyasha and Sisom Ru's daughters. That was definitely a big one. Um they had been, you know, kind of I don't use the word trolling. Uh they've been teasing at the anime uh actually for some time. Uh there's a lot of uh um fan fiction about it uh over the last like several years. Uh eventually some uh early sketches were released at the end of 2019 and some more detailed cuts and storyboards were released in 2020, and then they finally confirmed it, and we were like, okay, let's see what's going on. I will say I was thoroughly impressed by the anime because I think um, well, no, I don't think. As I've said on the Tunami episode, I'm very into you know, off the the authentic inu Yasha, like the the the the artistry of it, the storyline, the Naraku dying a million times is still not dying. So I was kind of anticipating that. Not necessarily what I got, but it wasn't a bad anime. I still recommend it. Uh, it was dope. Uh, anybody else have anything about Yasha Hime? Anybody?
SPEAKER_06Um, when you find out how Sashamu had kids, uh be prepared to be disturbed.
SPEAKER_00It was his what you know how he had kids.
SPEAKER_03Um I'm sure his hair got in the way, but yeah, he busted open for me. If he if he busted it open for you, I'd be followed as disturbed.
SPEAKER_07I'll say he he was grown, and he ain't he ain't told her to follow her. She followed him over. That's also true. So we're not, yeah. Leave that right now. Um but yeah, I got I like I like Yashi Himi. Come on, now I think it would I think it would have been better. I don't I don't care.
SPEAKER_03Different things, different, different rules.
SPEAKER_07It'll be different fictional world, it'll be different, it would be better served as a I think as a just a tighter, like I think season to season anime versus the every everybody can't pull the I'm just gonna go on infinitely, you know, narrative old inuyasha type thing. And and uh and it definitely, you know, there's definitely some episodes that you can just kind of tune out of. But uh, but yeah, when they're having like real meaningful like character moments, I definitely, I definitely think it's uh yeah, it's pretty good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, definitely. Uh there were also some, you know, C plus and B plus players that uh sorry, C plus and D plus players that our um panelists don't want us to talk about at all, which I'm not going to because I don't feel like being attacked on this particular episode. So we're gonna walk away from it. Oh, but there is one that I know all of our panels, well, not all, but most of our panelists had watched, which was B Stars. Did anybody want to talk about that particular anime?
SPEAKER_06Oh, this is amazing. I didn't watch the season. I hadn't watched the second season, probably because you know, I've just been busy with like other anime, but like and you know, I was also waiting for it to jump on Netflix.
SPEAKER_08Wait, there's the second season, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the second season dropped.
SPEAKER_08Where have I been?
SPEAKER_06I mean, but it's but they haven't dropped the second season on Netflix. That's uh that's probably the yeah, that's probably what you haven't seen. But they definitely released it.
SPEAKER_08Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, people people got it. They they they definitely do.
SPEAKER_08Damn, I'm late as hell.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it won't premiere it won't premiere on Netflix until July 2021, but it's out there.
SPEAKER_08Oh, now I gotta go watch something else.
SPEAKER_00So uh that rounds up our 2021 anime that we've already seen that we wanted to review and give you a little bit of insight on. We're not done just yet. We all had so much more to say and share that we decided to make this into a two parter. Look forward to our next episode where we conclude our talk about this topic.
