SPEAKER_06Lord. Yes. So we are here to bring to you once again our blurred spectrum anime review. We have animes that we've been watching for the majority of 2021. And of course, ones that we are recommending or wanting to see, well, ones that we're recommending and ones that we want to see that are coming out in the fall and winter. I think we've all been captivated. Well, some of us have been captivated. Other others are, you know, of course, using anime to fill time, and other of us are, you know, catching up on uh old favorites that have either been rebooted or been brought back for a part one or part two of the third season in the fourth trimester. So uh there's a lot of things there. Yeah, you have to. Uh so what I gotta do, of course, is introduce our lovely panelists for this time. Uh starting with myself, your moderator, Suchino Shogun. Uh, also we have the black uh McCoy. Oh yeah. Uh we have Joe Tsg back from a long hiatus.
SPEAKER_09How are you?

SPEAKER_06Oh god. Um Kaze Shinryu. Hola Ms. Skittles, hello everyone, and shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_03Yo, yo. What's up?
SPEAKER_06So, of course, we're gonna go down. Like on the street. So, of course, we're gonna go down the list and uh uh talk about the different ones that we've uh seen already. Uh, of course, recommended. Uh, and we're going to start with uh Kazi Shinryu. Uh I know you have an anime that you had seen uh that you uh enjoyed. And uh actually when you talked to me about it, you were uh at first you were kind of like, eh, but then you were like, whoa. So uh what anime was that?
SPEAKER_08Uh yeah, that was uh to your eternity. Yeah, it was a uh um you pr you pr you you're pretty much uh kind of just taking a you know just taking a ride through the uh through the life of this uh this life form. He kind of you know, he kind of just started off as a you know, as an orb, and then, you know, and then uh and then he kind of uh then he kind of became a rock and then and then there was some grass grown next to the rock. So he kind of you know became the grass and he kind of moved up the food chain until he uh until he uh became a wolf. And then the wolf meets uh meets a boy, and then the kind of and then the story kind of gets started is with the relationship between uh this uh this this wolf and the boy, and and and the and the boy is has been left behind from like his moving care caravan like through like this snowy area, and and he's injured. Um so it's kind of like like uh like he he the but the boy is super uh optimistic, but you're but you're looking is kind of like uh oh make it. Um and uh and you know, and and he does not. Uh and then the uh you know, and then the wolf uh you know becomes the boy. And then that's when the um that's when his like his growth started with the boy and the wolf as their kind of like their relationship. But when he kind of takes on the boy's form, that's that's kind of his kind of actualization. And uh, you know, and he starts like dealing with uh you know human emotions, you know, he has to uh you know he learns how to uh eat. I don't I don't think he actually has to, but he but he does it. Um, you know, he learn, you know, uh, you know, and he keeps and he keeps meeting uh and he keeps meeting more um more people and uh and these people just kind of serve as uh chapters and and uh and and and stepping stones like like through throughout his life. Uh and and all and almost all these people meet horrific ends. Um it really yeah, it really it really it really kind of uh fucks with you. Like everybody's really like in dear um endearing um the uh you know the wolf, you know, woof, woof boy thing. Uh be uh you you know, he's just he's just trying to figure, you know, figure figure shit out. Um eventually somebody comes down and talks and talks to Wolf and be like, hey, yeah, yeah, you know, I made you, here's your mission. Uh these niggas gonna come down, they're gonna fuck with you. And and uh good luck. But it but it's kind of but it's kind of it's still kind of interesting because usually after uh you would get after usually after that expositioned up, they would you would kind of go like lean like kind of in a in a shonen uh direction, like oh, you got trained up, you got beat the things, you know, you got your you got your thing you're aiming toward. But the but the wolf don't care about that, you know, he just cares about the people he's meeting. Um and it just so happens that these things are coming and fucking with him. And uh and they keep trying to steal pieces of his soul in his different forms. Um, but uh I th I think I think what really uh uh encapsulates this uh admin read well is that is that saying that uh you know some some people some people are in your life for a lifetime, other people in your life for a season. This is a this is a seasonal ass nigga because everyone knows everyone keeps dying. Um like they uh they are literally put there uh to teach him something. And I'm just uh you know, it's just really, you know, it's really um you know, fast fascinating. It it uh it handles all these uh different uh all the different like tones very well, you know, can make you laugh, it can make you uh you know, it it ain't it make me cry because I'm dead inside. But but I felt it I felt the twinge of something. Um that's uh that's very rare. Uh very lucky. Um but no no this uh yeah, yeah, it is it like it go it it makes it makes you feel what's it uh what it what it wants to, and it's just uh it's just a really nice and uh interesting ride. And uh and the anime's still going. So I'm uh I'm looking forward to see uh where they're headed to next.
SPEAKER_06I'm still gonna add a little bit from uh uh uh one of the feedback reviews that I've done before. Uh if you were to give it a one out of ten uh for what would you recommend it to somebody else, what would be your rating?
SPEAKER_08Um it'll be uh 8.5 with an uh asterisk. And the asterisk is um if you can't if you don't have the uh you know, like the the no, no, I was gonna say the the wherewithal or the uh attention span for like kind of deliberate storytelling, uh this probably isn't for you because again, this is not like shonen, this is not this is not fast paced, this is not, you know, this is this thing just kind of he's here and he's trying to figure shit out. And I mean when when when shit does pop off, gorgeous. Fantastic. Uh, but but if you need something to pop off every episode to get you through, then don't do it. Yeah, no.
SPEAKER_06I know a couple people in this uh panel who uh definitely rely on that. So uh this is not for you. Um I will say if you want to watch To Your Eternity, uh it is on Crunchyroll, HBO Max, as well as VRV. Um, so uh let's move on to the next panelist who has something, uh an anime that they are either recommending or they've already actually something they've seen before. Um, and that would be the Black McCoy. Do we only have to do one? Uh no, you don't have to do one. I mean, you don't you can't do 10, but you don't have to do 10.
SPEAKER_10I mean, I ain't got I ain't got 10. I mean, you know, life has been doing things. Um, I know uh one of my one of my redemptive recommendations is definitely Shaman King. Um, partly because Shampoo Braces stole it from me last time we did anime review episode. It was literally the only choice that I had, so you know. I hate you. Um but no, um, so if you have never seen Shaman King, uh it is definitely an older anime that well no wow, it's older in retrospect, I guess. Um I know, I know. I just like I stuck the knife in my own chest and I twisted it.
SPEAKER_07Come on, it's for kids out here.
SPEAKER_10But no, so they rebooted it, they've um recently uploaded it to Netflix. Um, if you have alternative ways of watching anime, then you know you can find more episodes there. Netflix only has 13 episodes, but the if you've never been introduced to it, the basic premise is that it is about a young boy whose name is Yo Asakura, and he is a shaman. He can see ghosts, and he goes on this journey, very shonen-like journey, to become the king of something, right? So Luke becomes the Empire King, Naruto becomes a Hokage. You know, there there is a there is a um there is a peak of what he's trying to get to. And it's just the story of his journey there, as well as his personality and how it affects those around him, and how he how he gears um gears himself towards becoming that and the threat that he is facing in order to become the shaman king. Um, very, very beautiful story, very diverse characters, very well uh fleshed out characters. Um, also a very, very interesting way to look at spirits and different cultures. I think it's one of those shows that definitely goes out of its way to try and incorporate a lot of different backgrounds to contribute to the larger narrative of this idea of spirituality as it spans across the globe. So it starts it, the the main protagonist is Japanese, but there's uh there's like a deep um dedication to the idea that spiritualism and religion have this relationship with each other that crosses a number of different cultural and um yeah, ethnic boundaries, which I think is really cool. It's one of my favorite things about it. Also, if you watched it in the if you watched it in old school, they read it Chocolate Love, so he looks less like a racist caricature. So that's fantastic. Um, another anime I want to recommend. I'm gonna save that one. Um so if you have yet to watch it, if you like a really good fun slice of life uh anime that I've been watching has been My Next Life as a Villainess, All Roots Lead to Doom. Yes, Lord. It's their second, their second season. Yeah, their second season. And there is something about I've never been one particularly to you know really care for harem style anime, but this one uh not only one appeals to my sensibilities, I guess, but it also completely subverts a lot of the typical tropes in my personal opinion when it comes to harem anime. And this is one that is centered around um a uh a female character, as well as the relationships that she has with the other people who are involved in the harem, are not like overtly sexual ones. They're really uh they're really intimate relationships that are that are constructed around um the genuineness of her character. Um, and the situations that really spawn from that are just hilarious ones because she's completely oblivious to everything that's happening around her because she's the the main her main goal is to avoid being set up for you know for doom, right? Um it's also like a cross with the isekai, it's like a it's a harem slash isekai anime, and yeah, I I I haven't seen an isekai anime like this before, and it's genuinely one of my favorite shows. It's hilarious, the art is phenomenal, the story is fantastic. Um, you get very easily attached to literally every single one of the characters and their motivations in relationship to in the relationship to her. Um, I'm not gonna tell you who my favorite character is right now because she's a bad bitch and she is literally ahead of the curve when it comes to everyone else. Um, but yeah, those are the two I'm gonna stick with right now. Also, One Piece Supremacy, it's still going. Please, if you have supremacy, um, you have not caught up. Uh, if you have the strength to catch up, then absolutely strength. It is the those who avoid one piece because they say it's too long are simply weak. I will stand by that statement. I will die on that hill. Um the ones that want to push themselves through weak.
SPEAKER_05Most of them like to punish themselves if you want to get yourself through one piece. Or at least not in this aspect.
SPEAKER_10But also, I I will I will recommend One Piece partly because um a lot of a lot of the the a lot of the a lot of the hate that One Piece gets outside of its length is usually because people don't like the animation style.
SPEAKER_06It's like, well, you know, a lot of animation style was in the first 30 episodes, but I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_10I mean, even then, like the animation style is the first 15 30 episodes.
SPEAKER_05Um okay, this okay, yeah, just that first yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_10And like it's like as it continued to gain more traction and become more popular, the animation style improves, they get a higher budget.
SPEAKER_06Like literally every single one piece fan group does like um almost a meme a week showing the comparisons between ninth uh the uh the early 2000s and 2021. It's like, okay, if you're upset about the animation style, look at the difference. People still ain't paying attention. It's cool.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I mean, but it's weird that that we that the One Piece memes have to be like that because if you look at Dragon Ball Super and you look at literally, don't even don't even try, they will never see the difference.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_10And I think that's part of its charm because it it's one of those shows that I love because it has it like Oda could teach a masterclass in world building, like most like I I would even go as far to say, like Tolkien could never like that, like he puts so much effort into every single last aspect of One Piece between character development, between lore, between history, like all of it is phenomenal. On top of that, the and it's one of those shows that doesn't take itself too seriously, um, in the same way that some other uh shown in anime have a tendency to, but it also has a multitude of layers when it comes to understanding relationships to um family groups, friend groups, uh government, the world at large, um, various power dynamics that come into contact there. So I know One Piece is not like a new anime in any way, shape, or form, but I always want to be able to recommend it because I genuinely think that it um is a is a really, really good show. And people under undercut it a lot for unnecessary reasons.
SPEAKER_06So is what you're saying is you're giving up your recommendation slot for One Piece because we hadn't even gotten to recommendations yet.
SPEAKER_10We'll say that's what I've been watching, and I that's my little defense of it in in in relationship to what I've been watching. Why I've been watching it. I say so it's like 0.01% of a recommendation. I don't believe that, but okay, sure. You don't have to, it's all right.
SPEAKER_06Oh no. Um, all right, next uh for previous anime, Ms. Skittles.

SPEAKER_01Nah, I'm just gonna, you know, I y'all not ready for that yet.
SPEAKER_05So yeah, we not, we not, we not. You keep it. So on our next episode.
SPEAKER_01So what I've been watching, um I've been watching uh a lot of random stuff here and there, but I just want to uh recommend, highly, highly recommend um Tokyo Revengers. So I I um initially when I started watching this anime, um, I'm sure and if anybody has is watching it right now, um, because it's it's uh it's still running uh 24 episodes from the spring, actually. Um but initially um when I started watching it, I was like, oh, this is about to be like erased or like the beginning of like ReZero with this whole, you know, like jumping time backwards trying to, you know, save the girl, whatever. Um, and and that's basically uh what we're we're like the a quick synopsis, like um, so Takamichi is the um the the main protagonist. Um it starts off, he's like this, you know, um this nigga basic. He's an adult living a basic ass life. Um but like back in the day when he was in, I think middle school, I went, you know, because they they school ages be weird. So I think he was in like middle school or something. And he was a part of a whole like Tokyo gang, uh trying to be that like him and his friends literally was trying to be badasses. Like that was their whole point of like living life in middle school, trying to be a badass. Um and eventually um he ends up being a badass because he um he uh meets up with uh the Tokyo, I think the Tokyo gang is called uh Manji. Look, don't get me on pronounce Asian because I don't, you know, I'm not Japanese. So uh Manji, the Manji gang, the Tokyo Manji gang, which is actually named after the the leader of the gang who they call playfully Mikey, um who I love. Um but um so yeah, he ends up being a part of this badass gang, but uh somehow his life just turned out so tragic. But he gets a second chance really um at life um when he finds out that his ex-girlfriend at the time he was in middle school, uh Nada was um murdered by the gang, which seemed completely odd to him. Um so yeah, so I don't I don't I don't want to go into details in case people want to watch it, but um so basically he goes back in time, he's um he ends up meeting with Hanada's younger brother, and he tells him that she's gonna die in the future, and then it follows him on this journey of going back and forth where he's trying to save her from dying in the future, but along the way, um there's like of course, you know, when you go back in time, there's things that you know happen to ultimately change the future. But yeah, but he's he's like finding out different things that I'm not sure. At this point, I'm not sure if if if he's creating these different um these different things that he keeps finding out that may have been different from how he actually lived it in the past. So it's it's it's just very interesting. Um the whole the whole story is written just so well. It's it's so it's so different from I guess you know our usual time travel thing. Um you have, you know, you have these high school kids who are who are about that life. When I say about that life, like these niggas, like this, this anime is not, I would not recommend it for like children, like to live in the club, like because these niggas out here, they are literally killing niggas, they are cussing, they are stabbing. Like it, it is, it is real shit.
SPEAKER_07Like black air force energy the anime.
SPEAKER_01Like, if you thought this was gonna be some erased type shit, which was you know, it was loving, it was cute, it was I'm you know, all of that, this not it, okay. This is this is like when they on some gang shit, this real gang shit.
SPEAKER_09Okay, gang gang.
SPEAKER_01Gang real Japanese gang shit. So so um I highly recommend it. The the art style is is dope to me. Um, the character development is is dope. Um and and not to mention, I I've I have a whole lot of new base. So um, yeah, like I'm like I'm I'm for it, I'm all for it, and I highly recommend it. Um but it's like I said, it's still going. Uh so if you if you got some time, it's it's 24 episodes. Right now, you know, twenty minutes perhaps, so you know, go ahead and hop on that bench 'cause it's worth it.
SPEAKER_04Did you say if you're a ReZero fan or a Flandate fan of the anime that you would like to watch?
SPEAKER_01So so I didn't particularly care for ReZero. Yeah, I why I watched, um, I watched it and uh and like I did not even continue to watch. So yeah. I in the beginning I was interested and then it kind of like fell off and I was like, ooh.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. I actually I ran into that with Tokyo Revengers actually.

SPEAKER_05I enjoyed it and then I was like, uh, there's other things that are catching my interest. Um I'll have to revisit it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I uh I mean, yes, I felt like yeah, I plan on jumping back in and finishing it.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, Tokyo Revengers is one of those animals I have to try again too.
SPEAKER_08Oh, but but but homebo with the shaved head with the tattoo on that, Joe.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's babe. That's babe. Say this nigga hardcore. First of all, let me let me just talk about this nigga.
SPEAKER_00I knew it was coming. I was trying to wean it out.
SPEAKER_01Mikey is like he he like me. He like cute, little, short, like you look at him, you underestimate this little nigga. When I say this nigga will kick the fuck out of you and not and not give no like no give like shits. What? Oh my god, Drakkid, that nigga fucking beast. Uh the only one, the only one who's not a beast is the the fucking protagonist, which is Takichi old weak ass. Through the power of showing friendship, you know, niggas will do niggas will do anything for their friends. But um, but yeah, when I say all of these teenagers besides this little nigga go hard, they go hard. Like, and then and the yeah, the gang, the clothes, the the fucking care, they fine as fuck. I just it's just a lot, it's just a lot going on for me, and I love it.

SPEAKER_01And I'm sorry, I mean, even even your boy's ex-girlfriend, she not even like bad, like so. I didn't even know. I don't know why we going so hard for he's not you know. I mean, hey, this nigga ain't never had a girlfriend other than her in his life, so this ain't cool.
SPEAKER_10Listen, if she died, bro, she died.
SPEAKER_01Like, but I'm fine, I'm fine with it if I get to meet all these these badass niggas.

SPEAKER_07Oh, so um actually I'm gonna do it as well. All right, so um there's a couple of recommendations that I've uh been paying attention to here and there. Um one of which actually I'm gonna leave one out. I'm gonna leave one out because I'm pretty sure somebody else is gonna call that out. So I'll actually go. Two people left.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, I know. Like I hope that wasn't aimed at me because I already said my thing.
SPEAKER_07No, it's it's not, it's not. It's just one of one of them I haven't heard said yet, and I know is gonna get called out later. But um the one I want to actually, the one I actually want to point out is Vivi Floor Fluorite's eye, fluoride eyes.
SPEAKER_05Fuck you, Mark, fuck you, fuck you, Mark. I knew that was it, I knew it, I knew it.
SPEAKER_08I knew it. Wait, what was that? What was that again? Vivi Fluorite Eye Song.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Vivi Floorite Eye Song.
SPEAKER_08It's um oh, I did, I did see that.
SPEAKER_07I did, I was actually really shocked because the first couple episodes, it's just it's a slow build, but it's an interesting one. And I normally like stories where it's it gives you like that little glimpse of what's going on, but it doesn't tell you too much. Um the way this anime, it's pretty much anime where this is the first episode of stuff. So uh you just find out that a war is broken out between androids and people, kind of like how the matrix starts. Okay. Um, so there's one scientist that ends up sending a program back in time somehow, to where he activates a robot that was originally a I want to say K-pop star, but it was mostly much a singer. She was a robot literally built for singing, one of the first automated robots uh or automation robots created that was able to, you know, just give a mission and they would figure it out how they wanted to do it from there. Um and you watch this robot go through pretty much a hundred years of struggle to stop a war that um takes place between that stops the war that you've already been introduced to. So you go through the moments that led up to the war, you go through the moments that um all the missions as things change. It's kind of like that whole uh the how the Marvel does time flow, where it's like, you know, you change it and now strain comes up, and now you're no longer in the same universe kind of thing. You're in a different part of it. Um, or different the way this, I guess the way the story works out is like you're still within the same universe, but now the time frame is very altered.
SPEAKER_06You've created a nexus event.
SPEAKER_07So you're going through each and every mission, like one is when it starts, like the the second year this end was alive, another one's like 15 years later, like next one's 20 years later, like it's getting all over the place. And it's it's a slow buildup to where the story has an incredible payoff towards the later half of the season. I would say maybe when you get to within four episodes of the end, you start to really see the story come together before a really nice finale. I would say give that a uh a chance. Um I don't really have I've watched Shaman King and I've watched Revengers. I I'll I'll say those are incredible. Well, I'll say Revengers is incredible. Shaman King was a little difficult to watch, um, mainly because now looking at it is not as interesting to me as it originally was when I was younger. But I do like some of the concepts of it. Like um Black McCoy pointed out is how you look at religions from different races and cultures and how they do spiritual. I'm not gonna say religion, but spirituality and how they deal with death from each of those cultures and how each one is looked at. Um which is a very interesting point. And outside of that, I haven't really done too many animes. I've been reading maybe like crazy. So yeah, it's like so um I'll leave this last one for whoever else wants it. But that yeah, that's my uh that's my definite recommendation is Vivi Floor ice uh floor and eyes song.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you you know me. The only one that I've been watching, um, I've watched a couple episodes of Vivi, but he always wants to watch it late, late when it's like my eyes trying to close. So the only one that I've definitely been watching is that time I got reincarnated by Son. Like the buildup through this whole entire season has just been like leaving you on anticipation edge. Um, I think there's probably like two episodes left this season. What?
SPEAKER_07No, I was just wondering if I I'll sort of be started.
SPEAKER_00Oh, yeah. I think there's like two episodes left, but it this season has definitely been probably one of my favorites.
SPEAKER_06So suspenseful.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, like I'm waiting for them to fully get through world purchase so we can we can flush out this fight and some other things can come to light. Um but yeah, that that was that's the thing that I'm watching right now.
SPEAKER_10You got a little sneak peek and you was like, let's go, I'm ready. Give me the most let's let's feed the shit along.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. That's it. I almost thought about stopping and binging it when it finished, but I'm not gonna do that on paper.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, because I ain't gonna stop real, I ain't gonna stop watching it. So it's like look.
SPEAKER_06I'm telling you, I'm not stopping.
SPEAKER_00Um outside of that, it's just American horror stories.
SPEAKER_06So okay. So let me uh do what I said I was gonna do that that I forgot to do um real quick before I go to Joe Tsg. Uh, the Black McCoy, your three choices uh out of ten, uh, how would you recommend? Uh how would you rate the recommendation?
SPEAKER_10Um altogether.
SPEAKER_06Um uh no, individually. So villain esque.
SPEAKER_10Uh let's start with one piece. I go a solid nine. Um I'm a I'm a slut for some really amazing storytelling and world building and really extremely fleshed out um worlds and characters. So yeah, yeah, yeah. I love the the conjunction of character-driven as well as story-driven and with the action uh put in there appropriately. Um with villainess, uh, I would also put that one at, well, I wouldn't put it at an eye, I put that maybe like a solid um eight. Um, I'm going to mimic Kaze and put an asterisk next to there. Um if it's one of the, if you're not super, if you're super into action, if you're not really into um emotionally driven or character-driven uh stories, this probably will not be for you, especially if you're not into slice of life.
SPEAKER_06Would you say that it's similar to Oran High School?
SPEAKER_10Um, I would say it's similar to Oran High School. I actually think it might do Oran High School better than Oran High School. Um, that's largely because I think that it doesn't center, that it doesn't oversaturate itself by with male attention um in the in a really weird way. Um let's see. Um, and for shaman king, I would put shaman king at a solid seven. I know that part of my um love for it is nostalgia, but I also think that it has a lot of valuable um, there are a lot of valuable um story tropes there. And there's a really valuable story there when it comes to the characters, when it comes to the action. It's I think the action itself is really unique because it I think it helped lay the groundwork for a lot of different other, a lot of different shows that utilize magic or that utilize spirits or talk about spirits. Um, and I think it though the very unique way that it uses the tournament style um when it comes to shonen is really fun and really fantastic. So yeah.

Uh so moving over to Joe Ts G. What are your anime that you have been watching?
SPEAKER_10Well, you said my mind thought of that scene from Aladdin where it just cut out, shut up, shut up, shut up, shut up.

SPEAKER_05Do you love animes where there's overpowered main characters? Do you love characters where you don't know what the fuck is going on, but you like them anyway? That's where I'm going with this. The first one is uh Yodomichi Onisa. Uh basically, he is the host of this morning children's show, uh, where he is surrounded by all of these adorable little kids. Um however, sometimes his real life persona comes through and he kind of reveals the the sadness of adultery and crushes them, and you just see all of their faces just sinking to the depths of hell. And it reminds me of myself, to be honest. I love crushing little kids' dreams, it's kind of fun in a weird way.
SPEAKER_10I watched you do it, it was uh it was very fun.
SPEAKER_05That wasn't on purpose. That was just me, you know, that was an educational moment. Right Yodomichi on Instagram.

SPEAKER_05But uh the second anime is uh battle game in five seconds. Um, it is a where the main character uh I believe he dies and then is reincarnated into this uh tournament, kind of reminding me of like the tournament art from Hunter Hunter. All the characters have these like special powers. The main character's power is actually pretty unique. It's it's basically to spoil but not spoil his powers. Basically, it can be anything that the the person looking at him thinks his ability is, if that makes any sense. So if the other person thinks his ability is like a canon, then his power is a canon, kind of like that. Um so that the female character is fucking awesome. She's basically she hope. So if you like Marvel, there you go. Okay. Um, and then the third anime uh was gonna be Sony Boy, but I'm actually gonna give it to Tsukamichi Moonlit Fantasy. Oh wow. Um, because it legit makes fun of the kind of Isekai characters involve the characters reincarnated into a uh basically an overpowered hero. Um but it's the goddess. Uh I'm gonna be reading a little bit more into the series, but I actually love the goddess because she's a complete and utter bad bitch asshole, and I love every single moment of it. No redeeming policies, none whatsoever, other than she she just bad. She just she's just fine, and she knows she's fine. I bet she got a flip phone like me. Wow.

SPEAKER_05Um so for Yodomichi, as far as the actual show overall, I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. Um Yoromichi himself, I'll give it a 10 because that's me. That's just me. Um nine. I'll give it a nine. Um, as far as uh Tsukamichi is concerned, I'd give that eight, actually.

SPEAKER_10Yeah, because like we're I I only I thought about it before we start, like as we were starting, and I was like, huh. I wonder how long this is gonna last. We're giving we're seeing where to find them, but eventually it's gonna be.
SPEAKER_06I I'm not actually sure because other you know, other streaming services have been swallowed by other streaming services, and normally what happens is one goes away and everything is ported over to the other one. So, but I don't know, maybe they'll do it differently.
SPEAKER_05I don't know because already had this in the past, like they've had their joint ventures before, and that didn't work out, so exactly. So we have an idea of how it's gonna look.
SPEAKER_06But the biggest thing about the two of them though, like they've the the did the companies absorb uh did uh Funimation absorb Crunchyroll as a whole company, or did it absorb just their streaming platform? Because don't forget, you got box box lunch and crunchy rolls, like uh uh um um uh shoot its store, and then Funimation has its own store. And I was wondering why Funimation started selling like more and more figures that were on Crunchyroll. If this has to do with that, I'm okay. I'm very I have to see what this is.
SPEAKER_08I don't imagine I don't imagine Crunchyroll's side ventures are expansive enough for them not to just scoop everything up at the same time.
SPEAKER_06I agree. No, no, no, I I definitely agree. It's just more so how would they be able to do it? But go ahead.
SPEAKER_05Now that I'm like those are physical scores, it's Sony that pretty much bottled. What I did not know is they also have um Anaplex as well, they do, and so so in all of that, it's going I I can see it being very massive as far as like what comes out in the next couple of years.

SPEAKER_05I hope it's not like one big Sony store that it's I can see it being like something completely different than just like change just rebranding the entire like streaming service, if anything.
SPEAKER_06But uh to go back to uh battle game in five seconds, it's not Funimation at the moment. It's Crunchyroll and VRV, um, which is also interesting because VRV ports all of its anime through Crunchyroll or from Crunchyroll, it does not have a partnership with Funimation.

SPEAKER_06So if those two are being assimilated by Sony slash Funimation, does that mean they're going to lose their contracts or are they going to just make a new contract? Uh that's a great question.

Uh so yes, um, I'll probably just talk about three specific ones and then give my honorable mentions, which is a lot of them. Um so my main three, uh, one I was actually just watching yesterday. It's not finished yet. It started in the summertime, the case study of Vanitas. Um, it is such an interesting take on um vampire life and vampire uh um existence in France, Paris, and a couple of other places. Um without spoiling anything, it's predominantly about this human who has been given the abilities of a specific clan of vampires and how this group of not group of individuals, group of spirits. I don't know, I don't want to call them anything specific. This is a group that are killing vampires with specific uh powers, and this human is the only one that can save them.
SPEAKER_05Uh they're not vampire hunters, they're vampire hunters, they're vampire hunters, they're killing vampires.
SPEAKER_06They're they're killing vampires, but they're not vampire hunters.
SPEAKER_05It's like twilight the better.

But anyway, uh, I do I I love uh Noe, uh one of the uh main characters, even Vanitas. Uh his his whole demeanor, actually, if you fuse them together, it it's me on like a Tuesday. It's very interesting.

SPEAKER_06Yes, I'll give you Black Butler meets noble less. Um, but yes, so case study of Vanatis, um amazing anime. Um, also uh I was going to do Spirit Chronicles, uh, which is an anime that came out during the summer as well, I believe. I believe uh came out during the summer. Um, I know it came out around the same time as Moonlet Fantasy. Um, and it's uh pretty much about a character uh uh kind of like a, I mean it's pretty much an Isekai, but this one with this one, he dies um and is reincarnated into uh another world. But uh uh it's a whole nother character who has this kind of doomed uh life. Uh very similar to similar to Jobless Reincarnation, uh, where he has to kind of learn this, well, not in terms of the art style, but in terms of the storyline. Uh learn, you know, these this this uh he is kind of overpowered in a certain sense, uh, but is only based off of where he's from, his uh the homeland he's from. Uh, but just the trials and tribulations he goes through, uh interacting with people who are also reincarnated, um, or you know, people who uh uh are just just just as holish rich people. Very similar to shield hero, but but not but not that bitchy. Like hero had a whole nother level of bitchiness.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah, yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_06But very similar.
SPEAKER_05But you will hate everyone except for everyone. Oh no, everyone.
SPEAKER_06Until he leaves the first location, you will hate everyone. And when they revisit it, you will hate everyone. So yeah. Um, and then uh how a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom that also came out the same time as the other two. I love this anime because this realist is uh, like I said, um uh uh the two main characters of Case Study Advantages are me on a Tuesday. Realist Hero is me like Thursday through Saturday. Um, it's just like he's Monday through Sunday, let's be real.
SPEAKER_05How dare you?
SPEAKER_06Um he just the way that he operates, the way that he thinks, the way that he's able to handle situations, process them. Uh uh he's been a long story short, the character, uh another uh uh he was he's in the isekai, but he's been um ported or uh summoned uh to this new world through, you know, kind of like shield hero. Uh no, like shield hero, he's been summoned to this new world. Um and he takes the place of a king. The king says, Hey, look, uh uh what do you think I should do about my kingdom? He says, Oh, you should do this, this, and this. Okay, you know what? I'm stepping down, you're the new king. And that's how the anime pretty much starts. And this nigga's like, wait, what? I know I so many asked, you gave me, you asked for help. You didn't ask me to take over. And the king is just like on his wife's lap, getting his ears cleaned out, like, he'll handle it. I'm good.
SPEAKER_05I love how you're kind of reading yourself though by comparing yourself to the main character.
SPEAKER_06I'm not what? Anyway, so it's an amazing anime. Uh, the entire storyline is I I love the way that they're building the world and building uh the kingdom and uh how it's you know connected with the different uh uh principalities, and they haven't even gotten uh up to the real antagonist of the anime, so it's really interesting. Um, my honorable mentions uh The Duke of Death and His Maid, I love it. It's so awesome. Um it's so what?
SPEAKER_05You don't have you seen it? I have. I watched two episodes, and I think the problem for me was just the art style. I do it's very it kind of reminds me of like it's it's CGI pretty much.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, no, it is CGI. For me, the the art style reminds me of me though. It reminds me of something I've watched on Nick Jr. back when I was a kid, so I guess maybe that's why I connect to the art style. Uh what were you about to say, Shammy?

SPEAKER_06Uh The Duke of Death and His Maid.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that I've watched it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I'll take like one or two episodes just see how you feel. If you don't like the art style, you're not gonna stay around. But I I love the the story, the story that they have going on the background um about the the the inability to connect with people who you love, um, and people wanting the best for you, but you not knowing it because their actions are different than their words. Um it's it's it's twisted, uh, it has witches, it has you know shapeshifters and all types of things. Uh, but uh again, kind of going back to what Kazi said, if you're looking for action, don't watch it. Don't even try, don't even, it's it's none, no action. It's just a storyline um that is really dope. I mean, the main character, um, the plot behind him is a witch cursed him, I think, at the age of five, five or seven, where anything he touches dies. So it's kind of like the mightest touch, but death. And he can't touch anyone or anything, or else it will wilter and die. Um that sounds like you took the dude from my that doesn't sound as bad as it should sound to me.

I like I didn't know I was gonna like it until I think it was Kaze and the Black Mahoy that even told me about the first episode. So then I tried it, and just the inner real estate agent in me was just having so much fun. Uh, the Saint's magic power is omnipotent, gorgeous anime. I love the storyline. I think I recommended it to Kaze. Don't know if he went to go watch it yet. Um, Welcome to Demon School Arumakoon second season. I love that anime. Okay, yeah, they came back with the second season, and it's getting even better.
SPEAKER_05And I wasn't sure because I was like giving me very high school DXP, and I'm like, Am I gonna see titties? I don't know.
SPEAKER_06No, no, no, no, no, no, titties. No, that they didn't okay.
SPEAKER_08Well, but I'll laugh it still. Um the first anime I watched this season I had titties. I was like, Oh, which one was that? I don't know.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I keep watching, but I was like, oh um, I've been killing slimes for 300 years and maxed out my level, so I thought this was gonna be like idols and reincarnate like as a slime. It wasn't, but it was still funny, it was humorous.
SPEAKER_05I dropped it, it was humorous, it was humorous. But you know, I felt bad for the slime, so I dropped it.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I see. Well, they were okay. I can't really argue with that, but she does adopt two slimes to to kind of I may have murdered so many of your kind, but I adopted at least two of you. Well, that's not what happened. She murdered me, she murdered so many of their kind, and then and then she came to kill her because she adopted the the uh the dead souls of all the slimes, and she turned into a super a sentient slime that came to murder her, but then because she had maxed out her level, she couldn't beat her, even though she made the perfect spell to kill her.
SPEAKER_07It was a whole thing, but sound like some 1700 American shit to me.
SPEAKER_10That sounds like some sympathizing with the colonizer shit. That sounds like Stockholm syndrome. Oh my god, I'm uh nope, I'm not gonna be able to do that. That sounds like capitalism, you can't beat touching it.
SPEAKER_06Um, also uh oh, the honor of magic high school. So if you saw the crap, I forgot the name of it. What was the other one? Um it's kind of love anyway. If you saw the irregular at um um, sorry, if you saw the irregular at Magic High School, the honor at Magic High School is it follows his his sister uh during the entire uh concept, and uh her standpoint is so much better because you already saw how how energetic is the word I'll use she is when she's you know talking about her brother. Um, and it's interesting because it like they they literally changed the dimension of the anime from her standpoint, so even her brother's voice sounds more deeper and more uh uh like just more masculine, and you can tell it's like from her eyes how the world is being uh viewed. So it's very interesting. And then um I'm standing on a million lives season two. Uh, I didn't think I was gonna like the anime when it first came out, and uh it's interesting, it's it's like they built up the main character to kind of be this like, I don't care about life because I'm I'm forced to do this. Um, and then when he finds out he killed like an actual human, he was just like, fuck it, I have to save the world, so I'm gonna kill people. I don't care. But then the second season, it's kind of like they're um kind of bringing him back to like morality, and they're you know, there more people are being added and showing him, hey, uh, I get it, you have to like do this, but you don't have to do it the way you're doing it. You're being kind of an asshole about it. So it was uh it's it's interesting to see how it kind of they built him to be this hardened, you know, killer, if you will, and then or try to be a hardened killer, and now it's going back into the reverse almost. He's still keeping the same principles, but when other people are now adopting his same principles that wait, wait, wait, why are you doing that? I know I do that, but I'm supposed to do that. I'm the one sacrificing, you know, my morality to do all these different things. So it's pretty interesting. I recommend people watching it, at least trying it out. Um, there are a couple things that will freak you out. So, well, not our panelists, but if you're listening, there's a couple things that'll freak you out that um uh you just have to get past. Uh, but for my top three Vanatists, spirit chronicles, and the realist uh Vanatists, I will give uh the art style, the story. I'll give Vanatist probably an 8.1. Um, Spirit Chronicles, um, oof, ooh, uh Spin of Chronicles so far, especially now that they've introduced the uh the spirit, I'd probably give it like an 8.7. And then how a realist hero rebuilt the kingdom, 9.2. Uh, but that's because I see myself in the anime. Yeah. Oh, and then where you can watch all of these. Um, if I'm not wrong, Hero, uh I'm sorry, Realist Hero Um and uh Case Study Advantages, you can watch on Funimation and then Spirit Chronicles, you can watch on Crunchyroll VRV, and I believe HBO Max. Yes. So moving on. Now we want to do uh well, I guess everybody kind of gave the recommendations, so we don't have to do a recommendation section, but we can talk about the ones that we want to see in the future, the ones that are coming out during the tail end of 2021. SPEAKER_10Um Digimon Ghost Game, um, obviously. Um we know the premise of Ghost Game? Uh no, I know I don't know yet. I know the so the Ghost Game is supposed to drop, it's supposed to start airing um from uh on October 3rd. I don't know if it's gonna hit streaming services and the internet. I'm assuming around the same time. Every place is said that they're not letting out any information. Yeah, if you don't know, of course it comes is coming from Toy Animation. If you have not seen anything Digimon related toy animation recently, Digimon 2020 um is a great uh representation of what you'll probably get. Animation, beautiful, storytelling, beautiful. Um, some things are gonna be some things are retcon, um, so on and so forth. Uh part two uh The Way of the House Husband drops on October 7th. I'm super excited for that. It's super fun.

SPEAKER_10Um let me see. There was one more. I haven't watched uh I know I'm excited for the My Hero Academia movie. I think that comes out either this year or early next year. But um there is an anime that um I wanted, I was actually kind of looking forward to when I saw Mamma, but I found out it got delayed. It's called The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated to Another World as an aristocrat. And just the title alone was extremely uh long. Yeah, extremely long. Yeah, I was like, let's let's not pretend most isakes. I didn't say they weren't.
SPEAKER_07I was just uh these guys are about to get random with their titles.
SPEAKER_01Like you think they're like they're getting ridiculous, honestly. Yeah, they're trying to walk. God damn. It was it's a whole sentence, my name.
SPEAKER_10So it's the the premise of this is that it's about this guy who's like the greatest assassin on earth. Um, and he only knows how to live like as a tool for his employers, and so uh until you know, until they stopped uh relying on him and you know decided to kill him. And so a goddess, of course, you know, how goddesses tend to be in these isekai shows, um, offers him the chance to live his life again and he gets thrown into this world of like magic and fantasy and sorcery and stuff, and he gets a chance to do things differently. And uh he has to kill this like super powerful hero who's supposed to bring about the end of the world, unless he stopped. So I'm excited to see it.

SPEAKER_05I saw that coming. Uh, there have been talks about a monster rancher anime coming out. You did say that. Well, no, that's the game, but the anime.

SPEAKER_06It's fine. Oh man. Oh that's funny. Uh okay. So uh mine that I am anticipating coming out uh in fall, winter. Uh, first off, world trigger, as uh uh Joe TSG mentioned. Uh season three. After I think we talked about it after season one, and we're so excited about season two, and it did not disappoint. It started uh right where it left it off with the um class selection uh uh tournament. And man, these these these dudes was going in and they were definitely not here to like they upped their game. Like the anime style, the the drawing is still similar, but they enhanced the vibrance of the caller, in my opinion, and the abilities that they added when they were defending that ship that was trying to leave to go to the outer uh uh outer um uh um uh outer, not outer space, what is it called? Uh outer rings, I think, or the outer planets, like that fight between the top three and and that the intruders, gold. Like the whole thing. I can watch it like six times back to back. So seeing what they're coming back to to try and you know get up to the right tier to be able to get back into the outer uh outer planets is is gonna be phenomenal. I definitely recommend World Trigger. Um, even to explain it again as I did in the last one. Uh, basically, it's about this. Um of course, this always starts on Earth because you know we're self-absorbent. Um, but um it's about being on Earth and aliens pretty much come in and they they start invading. And eventually they decided to come up with the system by using the aliens technology to protect themselves from the alien technology. Uh, but what they did know was that people were already communicating with these aliens and working with them. But then the aliens from different planets um decided to say, wait, why are you what's so important about Earth? And then they started to invade to try to find out what was so important. But by that time, we had figured out, you know, how to defend ourselves and how to, you know, do all those things. And people were like, well, you know, uh, well, now we need to go out to go find out, go, go invade those planets since they keep coming to Earth trying to kill us and take our people. Um, now the main reason why they're taking humans is because they have this thing and we c have this thing in our body called trion. And trion is kind of like, lack of better words, it's like a mix between our Kai, our key, you know, for your Dragon Ball people, our chakra and our life force, um, kind of all mixed into one. Uh, so you can take that from somebody and like fuel an entire ship or planet, depending on how much the person has. And what they found out is that a lot of people on Earth have an untapped amount of trion, uh, primarily because we weren't already already using all of this technology that relies on uh powering these weapons and these you know different uh tools. So anyway, uh yeah, but that one comes out uh what is it, October 10th. Really excited. Um, I heard about this one, Paladin of the End, uh comes out October 9th. It looks extremely interesting. I uh I'm not one for just like jump, no, that's not true. I'm one for jumping into random anime, at least trying it and seeing what's up. If I don't like it, then I'm gonna slowly like move away from it. But basically it says that it's a uh is this guy that has magical powers. Uh, he lives in the city of the dead. Um, and eventually he says, you know, I'm tired of living in the city. Let's go find people. And that's pretty much how it starts. Allegedly, is how it starts. I ain't seen nothing yet, so we'll see. But that's October 9th. So I'm excited for that. Um I'm really excited about these next three. They come out in January. Um, one is from Common Job Class to the Strongest in the World. It's an anime that came out about two, I think 2018 or 2019. Um, uh, this, but their second season finally coming out. Um, long story short, uh, this whole class of people uh gets transported to this uh it's Isekai, gets transported to this new world. Um, one of his class, the main character's classmate, tries to kill him by throwing him off this bridge or getting killed by this dragon. Um, he goes to the bottom of the earth, kind of, or the bottom of like this uh labyrinth. And then he decides, you know, I'm not gonna be weak link anymore, and he starts eating monsters and he starts absorbing their powers uh to the point where now he's the baddest person on the planet, plus some. So it's it's a dope anime. If you haven't seen it before, I definitely say check it out. I think I'm pretty sure Joe TSG would enjoy it or should have already seen it. Um uh it's it has you know shown in elements, but it isn't not shown in any way, shape, or form. Um it does have action in probably 90% of the episodes. Would you say? What what what were you saying? You would probably the name of the the anime I was talking about.

SPEAKER_06Um uh also uh the strongest sage of of disqu the of the disqualified crest. This seems like a very Kaze uh Shinryu oriented anime. Um uh based long story short. The uh character um I I don't even know how to explain it.

SPEAKER_06Mark would like it if he hasn't already seen them uh read the manga. Yeah, I think it's a lot of general overlap over what me and Mark. There is, there is, yeah, you're right. I I don't disagree with that at all. Um, Mark, have you heard of this particular anime andor manga?

SPEAKER_06Okay, no problem. Okay, yeah, but long story short, it just uh the synopsis says that in a world of magic, this person is is he reincarnated? He is reborn a thousand years into the future, uh, where um he is the son of a duke's family. And it's kind of what was the name of that anime I watched? Oh man, uh don't remember, but that was a good one.
SPEAKER_10But long story short, um instead of like I was I was reincarnated as the eighth son.
SPEAKER_06Yes, similar to that one, but with this one, it's kind of a mix between that and what was the demon lord we were all watching?

SPEAKER_06Yes, it's a mix between Misfit Demon Lord and reincarnated as eighth son. Um, and he uses hand-to-hand combat. And I think that's why I knew uh Kaze and Shampoo Bra uh uh Shammy B would be really interested in it. Um, and then lastly, um, it is the genius prince's guide to raising a nation out of debt. I was like, wait a minute, this sounds like another one of saving a kingdom. I think this might be something that I like. Uh so uh yeah, that's another one that's coming out in January 2030, 2022. Sorry.
