Welcome back to 2022. Well, not welcome back to 2022. Welcome to 2022, ladies, gentlemen, people, persons, non-binary, binary, and all of the people in between. Welcome. God, I hit my COVID. Welcome to 2022. You said COVID. I don't want to wish her nothing. I mean, she's here. Tell Corleen Ray that she's Coraline Ray. Um, but yes, welcome to 2022. We have taken a great long sabbatical. Um, uh I've heard from several panelists that they enjoyed being able to just not have to wake up on the days that we record and just chill and relax. And do I have to? Oh, there's no recording today. Yes. Well, we're back on the grind, and we are here to give to you the topics that we have uh enjoy and the new ones that are coming out as the year goes on or years go on. Um, but of course, as always, I must introduce our panelists. Started with your moderator, your host, your uh I don't know. Uh anywho, uh yes, Suchi no Shogun. Uh yes. Uh also uh the doctor. What's good? We have uh Ms. Skittles. Hello everyone, we have Kaze Shinryu. That was good, we have the Black McCoy.
SPEAKER_04What it do Joe Ts G.
SPEAKER_10I was so distinguished, so distinguished. We have shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_06What up?
SPEAKER_10Oh, and we have Missure because that that other half sounded zombie.
SPEAKER_08Oh lord.
SPEAKER_10So, of course, coming back, uh, we have you know our returning listeners, but we also have a couple of new ones who you know we spoke to towards the end of the year when we weren't recording. So we want to reintroduce ourselves. Uh, I'm not gonna do that whole musical, you know, uptake, but I'm just gonna say we're going to talk about ourselves just a scoche and talk about some of the things that we want to do this year as it pertains to recording. So I'm gonna start with uh anybody want to volunteer? Actually, let's let's just do it this way, you know, volunteers. Anyone raise your hands or you know, say something. Nobody, nobody's gonna say anything. I guess I'll start with myself. Yes, Stunchino Shogun here, your moderator. I am a uh owner of several businesses. I am a black nerd, also called a blurred. Um, I am an entrepreneur, I am an individual who likes to talk, uh, but only when spoken to. See, that's a lie. Sorry. Um, so I I like, I enjoy several things, uh, several topics as it pertains to anime, video games, and a variety of things. Favorite Pokemon is Haunter. I guess that's important, I suppose. Uh, the company behind me, uh, that I always have behind me, Umbral Starcade. Uh, we're coming to you this year with a bunch of new and fresh things. Uh, also another company that I work with, uh, one of our panelists, uh Blurred Creations, uh, apparel and different miscellaneous things that you may like. Um, I don't really like talking about political things, but if you get me started, I start to passionately talk about random things that don't make sense. Uh, also, I enjoy bringing people together. As you see, there's this podcast thing here that we all start talking about random things. Uh, I enjoy doing that. Uh, lastly, but certainly not leastly, uh, I enjoy all things Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. Actually, all things Legend of Zelda, but Majora's Mask specifically, that is my favorite. Uh, so see, very simple. Talk a little bit about yourself, you know, like uh like the first day of maybe third grade, not necessarily kindergarten because you don't know that much, but not necessarily, you know, high school because we ain't got time for all the gloom and doom. So let's move on to our next panelist. And I think it's going to be anybody want to volunteer? Dog, sure. Come on down.
SPEAKER_07All right. So just I guess a little bit about me. Um, you know, I'm also very much into Zelda, Pokemon, a big Nintendo fan. Um, yeah, some of my favorite series. Um, and I think my big area as far as what's related to the podcast is I'm really into things related to game design, especially like metagame analysis and such, uh, game design theory, um, tier listings, of course, anything of like uh fighting games, how you can generate those, um, and other things related to how you study a game's a metagame. You know, and related to that, I have experience with like ROM hacking and you know, modifying various games, mostly like old Nintendo games, love like Fire Emblem ROM hacking, uh, Kirby and some Mario Sonic and some others, but um basically adding those to you know create something new. Uh been in the ROM or modding scene for a while, done some of that with Skyrim too, because Skyrim is of course like one of the probably best known modded games, so just for how extensive the mods are. Um and so yeah, I have experience in that. And otherwise, um, I also have experience in regional competitive Smash Ultimate. So if you are interested in any of those things, uh definitely, you know, reach out, let me know. And you know, I'm always happy to discuss more of those.
SPEAKER_08Catch those hands and smash.
SPEAKER_10Throw hands. Awesome sauce. Thank you, Doctor. Next, uh, I guess I'll pick this time since nobody's trying to volunteer. I did buy it. Oh, thank goodness. Shampoo bracelets.
SPEAKER_06I was gonna go and then Rod offer because you mentioned, you know, blur creations. I was like, oh, might as well follow up.
SPEAKER_10True, true, true. Please continue.
SPEAKER_06So uh y'all call me Damo, uh Dr. Harleen Quinzel, the other half of the bracelets. Um, I'm also co-founder for Blur Creations.
SPEAKER_08Oh, that's more.
SPEAKER_06We're currently doing a collab with Miss Skittles. Oh my god. Dropping tomorrow. Where you will find Miss Skittles' favorite 10 things. You will find her customized stickers that you can only get at Blur Creations. Um I let's see, my favorite anime is Sailor Moon. I I'm a 90s kid at heart. Um, my favorite at heart. At heart, you know.
SPEAKER_10In your being. Okay, were you not born in the 90s? I've said it.
SPEAKER_0690s kid, you know, at heart, you know. Um, let's see. Anime husbands would definitely be Gojo and Uzi right now. Um, if you're not six foot six with white hair, we can't talk.
SPEAKER_04Oh no.
SPEAKER_06I love it.
SPEAKER_09Um like five eight. How about they?
SPEAKER_06They're close enough, right? Um, let's see. I'm learning how to draw right now, so I can be a little bit more um creative, just my own type of artwork on our website as well. Um let's see, we are from the DMV. We used to live in North Carolina, and now we're in VA, so we're a little bit closer. I have two lovely, lovely children. Um I'm a Virginia State alumna. Don't worry about that.
SPEAKER_08I can hear him get on your nerves in the background right now. Leave my children alone.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, sometimes you know, you just don't pour yourself a glass of wine every day.
SPEAKER_08It's good for the heart. Suchi talking about his children, those are definitely my children.
SPEAKER_10I'm sorry, I have paperwork to prove otherwise, but anyway. Uh shampoo bracelet, shammy B.
SPEAKER_03Hey everybody, this is uh Shammy Bree. Shammy B. Um, y'all can find me around. I'm just having y'all can find me around. Y'all can find me around, uh, video games, Bruce and Brody. I have no idea what just happened. The kids are mad. This is life. Uh welcome to real life, you know, nerds who are parents type of situations, kids getting angry. Uh, what do I do? I play games a lot. I'm trying to talk through this. This is difficult.
SPEAKER_10It's right there. So while uh my baby is while shamfu bracelets are dealing with the uh the uh blurred parenting uh situation. Uh, since uh Dr. Harlan Quinzel talked about the collab that we're doing with Miss Skittles, I thought we'd go ahead and just slide on over to Miss Skittles. You want to talk about yourself a little bit?
SPEAKER_05Slide it in. Hello everyone, it's Miss Skittles. Um, a little bit about me. I am a blurred enthusiast and yes, enthusiasts. I love everything. I mean, I am black, of course, but I love everything nerdy. Like I'm into everything. I dabble in everything from video games, uh anime all day, every day. Um, what what else? Uh comics, a little bit of comics. Um I'm I'm a Marvel head at heart. Um, but I do I do have a few DC characters that are my favorite, also um Harley Quinn, uh Batman, uh things of that nature. So, but yeah, um what what what else? Um so I'm also um I am also a full-time graphic designer and artist. Um, I am a cosplayer and I am a co-founder of the brand and community um Urban Anime Lounge. Um and um as uh as everyone mentioned, I am um collabing with Blurred Creations, um both in the aspect of an artist and also as a cosplayer. So um yeah, like they said, they're the stickers, my cosplay stickers, are exclusively going to be sold on their website. So um, yes, if you want stickers, that's where you have to go.
SPEAKER_08World premiere! Exclusivity. You trying to get stickers, bitch.
SPEAKER_05You always do if you want stickers from me, they are exclusively there, okay? Um, so yeah. Um let's see. Uh what what else about me? I don't know. I mean, I'm a Leo.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I knew it. I told y'all.
SPEAKER_08I'm not gonna lie, I'm surprised that wasn't surprised that that made it to like the end of the end of the video. I knew it. I should have put buddy on it.
SPEAKER_05I could not let that pass without letting y'all know, okay. I am a Leo, period.
SPEAKER_08That Leo urged to introduce yourself to Leo.
SPEAKER_05I start I started to say it first, but then I was like, let me let me chill.
SPEAKER_08Let it breathe a little bit.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, I'll say it at the end. Okay, but yes.
SPEAKER_08Let me mix it up a little bit. Let me let me yes, give me some variety.
SPEAKER_05But yeah, um, yeah, I'm excited for the year. Wait, are we supposed to be talking about what we what we uh looking forward to right now, or is that after everybody introduced them to?
SPEAKER_10I mean, I don't want to put any like borders on nobody, but we were gonna do that after everybody introduced themselves.
SPEAKER_05Okay, that's fine.
SPEAKER_10Hey, I mean, no, but yes. All right. From one cosplayer who partnered who's going to partner with blurred creations to another cosplayer who partnered with blurred creations, Miss Sayone Cosplay.
SPEAKER_06Hello, everyone. This is Sayone Cosplay. I am a cosplayer. I started in 2013 at Otacon in Baltimore, and um, I love everything from science fiction to horror, the macabre, the creepy and unknown. I love baked goods. Um I love the transition. I love baked goods too. Yes. I think um that is my my sole, you know. I I love bakery. So that is definitely if you if you really love me, you'll get me baked goods. So if anybody hears that, you know, truly love me, send them my way.
SPEAKER_04You have true knowledge of affection. Not that baked.
SPEAKER_06Um, I enjoy everything about being a blur, and uh I love the black nerd culture. I love seeing that we have our own space and our own space to express ourselves and uh and really uh bounce off of ideas off of like-minded people. So I I really love uh this community that I was introduced to, and you know, and it also crosses boundaries through different states, different countries, and um something that a lot of times we we are unaware of that we actually have in our community. So it really brings us together as one, and I absolutely love it. Um I I do enjoy body painting. It what it didn't start off as body painting cosplay, but I guess it kind of morphed to an expectation of me being the body painting cosplayer, so to speak. Phenomenal. Phenomenal. I appreciate it. I have I have a lot to learn, and I I wish, I hope that 2022 will kind of push my boundaries on what I can do. Um, you know, just kind of keep progressing and seeing what I can learn and and try to be better for myself and also people that support me.
SPEAKER_10So you know somebody is humble yet like passionate when they say that they say the phrase push my boundaries. Like it just it just shows you that like they know what they do is amazing, but like they know they could be even more amazing. So they're not gonna rest on their laurels and they're going to continue to like push themselves even further than they could possibly even think they could be. It just it just it makes me feel like they're like so amazing yet humble. Like, be humble.
SPEAKER_06Like got me off street. I do not see myself in that late, but I'm trying, you know, Suchi always likes to uh be the the hype man, so to speak.
SPEAKER_03Um I gotta be.
SPEAKER_06Um, but uh I don't know. I I'm I'm working on me seeing my talent for what it is and not trying to push myself down. So that'll be a goal of 2022. So hey, I hope y'all be on that journey with me. So yeah.
SPEAKER_10From one cosplayer who is modest to another cosplayer who's the shit, the bomb.com, the black McCoy.
SPEAKER_08True. I was like, we're going back to Miss Skittles because we can't do that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_05Don't do that, don't do that. Do not even do it.
SPEAKER_08I was like, did we have a fourth person here? I don't know.
SPEAKER_05Don't you dare.
SPEAKER_08I could be a good ass breakfast, and I gotta be a nice little cup of tea and a onesie on.
SPEAKER_09I should have made coffee.
SPEAKER_08I almost made coffee. Are you gonna introduce yourself? Oh sure. I am the black or the resident, like obnoxious talker on the the podcast. Uh also that was me. No, no, no. You're you're like the more pretentious one. I'm like the obnoxious one. Fair enough. Yeah, yeah. And I'm also like the the more adamant shit talker. Uh so if you listen to any of our past episodes and you hear like a lot of shit talking, it's usually coming from me. You know, sometimes it'll come from Kaze, especially like the slickest ones with the channel ready for. Yes. Um, but more on that later. Stay tuned. Um, I've been cosplaying for, I like to say, my entire life. Uh, and uh has it has yet to, it has done nothing but transform into uh uh a set of skills that actually translate more to home improvement than I thought they would. I think about that shit all the time. Like if you think about cosplay skills, it's like we definitely do the same things, just like in different areas, because I like always like like have to fix something, and I'm like, oh shit, wait, I have these materials already because I use them for foam instead of things that are I guess kind of impractical. Uh and uh let's see, I don't know what to fucking say. Uh that's because you don't like talking about yourself, so now you gotta do it. Oh wow, I don't mind talking about myself. I just don't like I don't have like a whole uh you usually send my bio ahead of time. You didn't really ask. Um what? Let's see what else. I'm a professor of philosophy. Um, I love I have much like Miss Skittles and Cyane. I definitely have a kind of diverse palette as far as nerd dumb. Um, I love gaming, I love sci-fi, I love anime, I love cosplay, I love DMCU, I love cartoons. Um, and if there's one thing that's really important to know about me is that I will deconstruct almost anything into the ground. And that is how we have some of our best content. So you're welcome.
SPEAKER_10Wow. Amen.
SPEAKER_08Yep.
SPEAKER_10Uh well, Kaze, since you said something last, I'll let you go next.
SPEAKER_09Uh let's see. Um, yeah, uh also not a fan of uh talking about mind self, but here we are. Uh let's see. Uh Kaze Shinryu, uh Gamer Extraordinaire.
SPEAKER_08Yes, come on, gamer extraordinaire.
SPEAKER_10Uh I don't like talking about myself. Gamer Extraordinaire.
SPEAKER_09She pulled a leg. Um, I've played uh wide variety of things competitive competitively and otherwise, been playing D D for 15 years. Um, been the regionals for Magic the Gathering, uh, been to uh uh melange of different uh fight and game tournaments. Come on, Malange. I don't like talking about myself. Uh uh, you know, you just gotta step out with the vocabulary. You just gotta pepper out melange outside.
SPEAKER_08It's not a word you need every day.
SPEAKER_09Um what else? Uh definitely uh the resident uh um actually got the podcast because uh everyone knows uh technically correct is the best form to correct. Um and uh uh yeah, similar, similar to the doctor. If uh anything uh anything game related, uh specifically RPG, RPG, or fighting, uh definitely hit your boy up. We can uh chop it up, set something up. Um anything else?
SPEAKER_08Uh for fighting games, you will have your spirit broken and torn asunder. You will find yourself resting very quietly but peacefully, and yet tormented in the pits of Tartarus after playing a fighting game with Kazish and Rio. So spare yourself the uh the early indignation of your life by just not doing it.
SPEAKER_09I hear that's some of the some of the best places for self-reflection. Oh, that's what I heard anyway. But but uh yeah, no, I think that's uh pretty much it. Yeah. All right.
SPEAKER_10From one who doesn't like to talk about oneself or mine self, even though he did, to another who likes to tell up talk about himself visually. Joe Tsg.
SPEAKER_02Hey Bunchur, hello, how are you? Uh I am Joe T SG, Joe Tsg on Instagram, um, Joe Tsg1 on Twitter. Uh I'm an Aquarian, statue lover, figure connoisseur, food connoisseur, kitten enthusiast, tech enthusiast, feline overall enthusiast, honestly. Um tech enthusiast. Uh I also work in the tech field as well. Um all around bad bitch. Um head project manager. Um also part of the Megan Thee Stallion uh knee brigade. Um I am here to snatch edges in 2022 because 2020 and 2021, COVID was being a bad being a bitch, and I couldn't stand her. Um at the same time, looking forward to some of the new variants pie. You know, I don't know where this IHU variant came from, but she's here. I guess. IHU Nisha. Fuck her. Um what else? What else? What else? What else? Um oh yes, I do some of my best thinking on the toilet, usually after having pre workout. Um Um Lord. Pre-workout is amazing, but also kind of a Lokia hater, but like so Joe T S G which one are you taking right now? Oh, yes. Uh The Ghost. Um, well, first of all, this is not a paid um I'm about to say thank you. This is not paid paid. Uh but the pre-workout that I am using is called uh Ghost. Um it's the bubblish lightning uh flavor. She is lovely. Um a little nostalgic as well.
SPEAKER_01I know, right? Yes, that's a shot name.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yes, that's Monday name in high schools, too, by the way. Um it was not, it was it was lightning boat, lightning boat, lightning, lightning boat, yeah.
SPEAKER_08It was my name last night on the street corner.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, no, I won't, I don't, it's cold. I'm not outside, no streets. Catch me in June, maybe.
SPEAKER_08So for Frost Giants clientele, they pay really well, actually.
SPEAKER_02I'll call the Heat Giants instead.
SPEAKER_09Because Omarion out there too.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you know, I just thought he had he had released a video um for the new year about people calling him Omicron in public, and that's hilarious.
SPEAKER_08Um but anyway, like Jason the Rilla.
SPEAKER_02Hilarious, and um, yeah, I'm here, I'm queer and I'm ready to talk shit. That didn't rhyme.
SPEAKER_06Yes, that was good for me. Phenomenal.
SPEAKER_10So, of course, ladies and gentlemen and persons, this is our introduction, uh, our introductions. So, now of course, now we have the opportunity to talk about things that we want to talk about later on, which is about talking. So, let's have it. What do you, our panelists, want to talk about in 2022? Uh, that we, you know, either that we already have and you want to revisit it, or that we haven't even touched on, and now you want to tackle that because I I have a notepad and pen, and I'm going to write it down.
SPEAKER_08Did you come with a pen? No, look at you taking notes. I'm here trying to do me and Domo's job. Yep. All right, let's go.
SPEAKER_00That's rude.
SPEAKER_10Um I don't want to hear, I don't have my notepad.
SPEAKER_06Better than the officials, okay?
SPEAKER_10I don't want to hear, I don't have my notepad no more. So like we don't be out here curating the episodes.
SPEAKER_02Come on, nigga Marks. Let's go.
SPEAKER_10Let's start with Miss Skittle. She already had something she wanted to come up with.
SPEAKER_05Uh so um this year, uh what I would like to see us do, um one is guests. Like we had guests last year, but I would like I would like for us to um have like some more guests. Um I I I mean, I love you know us vibing together, talking shit, because that's what we do and we do it well. Um but I like when we have guests and they can come on and vibe and talk shit too. So I will I look forward to having um more guests this year across the spectrum, of course, um from Oz players to gamers to you know, uh we had we had artists and musicians um would like loved it last year. I loved it.
SPEAKER_10That solstice was amazing.
SPEAKER_05Yes, that's oh my god, I love it.
SPEAKER_08So that we met some more food people. We don't have another food episode, maybe.
SPEAKER_10We need another food, quite a few food episodes.
SPEAKER_05So that too, I would be home. So y'all be going places and shit without me. Uh oh, like wait a minute. I need a food episode where we all up in the restaurant like smacking and and little ratchet and drunk trying to be on all of that.
SPEAKER_06Shen I was trying to get that mukbang going in. It's uh very interesting.
SPEAKER_02It is not a category on Pornhub, and the video gangbang personally, you know, with just a bunch of food hitting my face.
SPEAKER_06So it is a certain type of pink, to be honest, though.
SPEAKER_08You know, it is what if we have like a food fight?
SPEAKER_00No, that's a waste of money.
SPEAKER_08That's a waste of food, but like it feels like a 90s kid dream that I just never got.
SPEAKER_10It's gonna clean that up, you know what the problem is. I'm gonna take you to Fairmont Heights High School.
SPEAKER_08You want to go to detention?
SPEAKER_06Oh my god, we can take you to the closest PG County high school and shorthand.
SPEAKER_02Fairmont Heights is around the corner. I graduated from food, a plethora of food heights.
SPEAKER_08I would say we can use fake food, but that would hurt people. Yes, not really.
SPEAKER_06You can get the little silicone ones, might not go as far though, not silicone, rubber.
SPEAKER_02That would hurt. No, not it's a mixture. It's a mixture. They're like the styrofoam, not styrofoam. The little soft, um, almost spongy material. I was just about to say gag. Not gag. Gag isn't really spongy.
SPEAKER_10Anyways, it doesn't matter. I'm gonna say Miss Kittles. Was that your last one?
SPEAKER_05Yes, okay, so um, more of those things. I want I would like to do more of those things. Um, there is an episode that I uh particularly want to talk about um that comes to mind, and that's um black love quote in quotation. In quotation, that's important in quotation. Um I I definitely want to speak on that. Black love in the moonlight, not in the moonlight, um, I would also like to talk about why um Marvel is not recasting Black Panther.
SPEAKER_08Um can we wait till the after the movie comes out to do that one?
SPEAKER_05I don't know. I don't know because I feel like yeah, it it's it don't matter. I don't know, but it it need that we need to talk about it because like it's it's literally you know what? Never mind. Okay. Right. Let me stop. Okay. Um those uh those two topics were like on the top of my head. So um I'm gonna yes, that that's it right now.
SPEAKER_10So just in case, for those who are listening, if you want to be a guest of the Blurred Spectrum Podcast, go ahead and DM us or any of the panelists, and we will siphon you through the process. Or those who are a restaurant who want to have the blurred spectrum at your restaurant and want specifically for us to uh eat our fill and put you on the podcast, go ahead and drop a line inside of our DMs.
SPEAKER_02And this year I'm also saying DMs or we also accept almonds, buy ramen as well too. Oh lord.
SPEAKER_03Um, if you you know ramen, uh we accept gifts, we love a gift.
SPEAKER_08We do love gifts, that's actually very true, or or like donations because a a lot of us have figures that we need to find. 74.
SPEAKER_10All right, so thank you, Miss Kitty. So thank you, Miss Kittles. Uh, now the doctor, it seems like you are chopping at the bit. You have an idea that you would like to have as a topic on an episode.
SPEAKER_07I mean, I'm about chopping at the bit, but uh as far as ideas, I'd like to see. So one thing I like, and I think we we did a COVID episode about like COVID and return to cons. You know, I like topics that relate to that and how we're kind of like navigating gaming and anime and just nervous spaces, especially in the pandemic and how things have kind of changed. Um actually I forgot to mention this earlier, but um, so I'm a professor of epidemiology and my doctorate's focused on social epidemiology.
SPEAKER_10I just I just I just love how you did your whole introduction talking about gaming and how official you are. And then you're like, oh, by the way, I'm a doctor, a real doctor.
SPEAKER_06Just snatched all our wigs off. Generally all our doctor. Okay I'm sorry, go ahead.
SPEAKER_07Uh yeah, so you know, with like social health and whatnot, that's of course changed a whole lot with the pandemic. So I think like those topics have always been really interesting to me. Like how does it affect like when we did cons or how does this affect um other nerd spaces, how does it affect like social like social media and whatnot, um, and how we engage in like nerve-related social media spaces. So I love topics around that. Um, the other thing I just I generally love would love to see, you know, I'm always excited about a gaming-related topic. And I think I'd like to see some stuff related to gaming in ways that we haven't done before. So maybe like focused on different areas of like culture related to gaming, or um, you know, different areas of, let's say, like um, you know, like gaming um analysis and such, and like the conversations around, you know, things like tierless in the community. I think that's an interesting one too, because that's always like a very controversial but very misunderstood thing is like tier list in like fighting games. Um and you know, so things like that, I think looking at those topics um just in some new ways, I think it's pretty interesting. Um, and of course, you know, the context of that in, you know, when it comes to like the black nerd community specifically. You know, like um the fighting community is a center for a lot of black excellence. Um a lot of people do not realize that, but it is very, very true.
SPEAKER_08Very also you know, I would definitely let the we let the 2K and Call of Duty niggas get too far ahead in the world.
SPEAKER_09And they're and they're loud.
SPEAKER_08So you know, I'd love to see some. They're right, and they're loud.
SPEAKER_10So, yep. Okay. So off of the doctor's topics, if you are a YouTuber or influencer or uh any type of blurred that has uh you know some uh uh voice in the fighting game community, uh in the uh just the gaming community in general, that you would like to be on one of our episodes and talk about, you know, one of these individual topics that you want to, you know, share your opinion about certain things. We would definitely love to have you on. Or if we have any blurred in the social health or healthcare field, I like I agree with the doctor. I I love that coronavirus or what do we call that? Coronavention, coronaventi episode. And then a couple of the other healthcare uh or mental health episodes were very informative. I was able to ask questions to those who are in those, you know, fields or just those who have, you know, um information that I don't have. And I know a lot of our listeners were able to gain some type of knowledge that they didn't have before. Um, I know one specific listener has sent a message saying that they knew how to navigate the pandemic better based off of the things that you know, say Sayone and the doctor had stated during those episodes. So um I agree. I definitely think we need, I would like to do more episodes like that or at least more tidbits uh that we can you know share with individuals that may not know, especially we're in what year three, year three of the pandemic, and there's still people doing stuff wrong, obviously. Um, so you know, I I would actually to you know piggyback off of what you said, the doctor, um, having some type of um, it doesn't have to be a full episode, but some type of conversation, kind of like Joe TSG was talking about about the variants, because there's a lot, a lot, a lot of misinformation, a lot of misinformation about the variance. And I think uh as uh with with your profession and with your knowledge, anything you can share will definitely give some people, uh a lot of people some clarity um on you know the things that they hear, hear say, the stuff on the news, stuff on the radio, if people are still listening to the radio, um, or what their favorite singer may be saying about it on uh Instagram. So yeah. Was that a shot? Sorry, I wasn't I wasn't trying to shoot nobody anyway. Uh thank you. Uh did you have anything else, Doctor?
SPEAKER_08We're trying to shoot somebody, it was just that.
SPEAKER_07Do you have anything else, Doc? Um no, I think that sums it up. Okay, awesome sauce.
SPEAKER_10All right. Uh well, since shampoo bracelets want to talk about shots, I'll go ahead and deliver it over to you. Do you have any topics that you would like to talk about in 2022?
SPEAKER_06Um one of the things that was on my mind actually happened after we watched Don't Look Up and all the all the things that that movie had to offer in in like an hour and 45 minutes. Because yes, the movie was good, but it was also talking about things that we kind of talk about now, but on a broader spectrum. So I definitely would love to do that movie, talk about that movie and the hidden gems behind it. Because I even was talking to my mom about it and she missed like so much, it was it was ridiculous, actually. Um, so definitely talk about that. I definitely want to do the um solstice again. Definitely. That that was really good and try to incorporate the food in there. I would say do a manga webtoon episode, but yes, that'll be nice. Oh okay. Well then definitely that's definitely up for it. Okay, Lord Olympus is a webtoon, so that I I do most of my cosplays from Lord Olympus, so I'm all about webtoons for sure.
SPEAKER_10All right, shampoo bracelets, was that it? Yeah, all right. So as as I said before, anyone listening, uh anyone listening who uh may uh have some input on manga and webtoons that would like to uh participate in those episodes uh or in that content, feel free to DM us uh or you know directly to Shampoo Bracelets and we can you know start a conversation. Um I would I I I I I eventually plan on watching Don't Look Up uh because I already saw like a bunch of things about it before the movie actually premiered. Like I'd already seen the uh you know the Ariana Grande Kit Cuddy song and I'd already you know watched a couple of other like Oh, is that song in the movie? Yes, it's at the end. The video I should say.
SPEAKER_05That song is gold, dog. Yes, it's fucking that song.
SPEAKER_10Hilarious. Yes, so good. Like, like I knew when I saw it and I heard it, I was like, I should probably watch this movie at one point. I just have to take the time to do so. Um, so yes, I I I definitely think uh I agree. I think we should definitely do an episode about that. And um, I think it'd be interesting to see once we talk about it, uh, what what certain, like you said, the hidden gems, what are some things that maybe you know the black McCoy finds that shampoo bracelets didn't see, or ones the shampoo bracelets saw that maybe the doctor didn't see, the ones the doctor saw that maybe Miss Skittles didn't see, so on and so forth. Just saying, you know, what things and like I'm not saying take notes, but you know, just have a uh idea of you know certain things that you pointed out or you saw that you wanted to bring up during the conversation. I think that'd be a great idea for a great idea.
SPEAKER_08Pay attention as you're watching this pretty much right.
SPEAKER_10Um we'll be quiz later. The black horse that you said something, you got something?
SPEAKER_08Oh, yes, I am oh, I have been uh begging, begging, begging, begging for a defense of a character to get shits on episode so I can talk about Cora for three hours straight. I'm begging for it. It needs to happen in 2022 because uh y'all need to get your shit brought right. Get your you need to get your shit rocked. It's okay, and um, I will gladly do it for you. Um uh let me see. Another episode I want to do. I want to do like uh a black black nerd queerness episode. I know I remember when we had Fox Promenade on for one of our um art black artist episodes. That was something that uh we discussed that would be really awesome to have and that we would love to talk about at some point. Uh so you know, once I guess we kind of curate what that episode is supposed to be about, then you know that would help for that to happen. That'd be fun. Um, I definitely want to do um an episode that centers on more of the uh different problems with a lot of the media that we consume. I think that something that's really fun for me slides in that I'm a professor of philosophy. Um something that's really fun for me is that we get to enjoy all of these awesome things and we kind of we have a tendency to focus on like stuff that's really positive about it. But you know, it's also really important that we look at the drawbacks of some of the things that we consume, uh, whether those things be, you know, some some degree of cultural difference or you know, uh representational issues or issues with how this, how certain things were done in different stories and stuff like that. And uh, you know, why we may shy away from certain things versus you know, why we are geared towards other things. So I think that kind of a an examination of that, like a breakdown, would be really, really fun and cool to do because we have it. I don't think we have had an episode where we really dug into ourselves and how we relate to the stuff that we love, you know, participating in, like that we love doing um when it comes to being black nerds. I also think it would be really, really cool if we had. I mean, I think we plan on having more black black artist episodes because I mean there's so many amazing black artists, and you know, we just we we can't not have them on because we we we put we kind of idolize them because they do such amazing shit. Um I know I would like to have like uh I guess like a cosplayer's journey episode. And then like when I remember when we had our cosplay mental health episode, we kind of touched on like what cosplay does for us, but and we didn't get too deep into like what it was like really starting cosplay. And because I've had so many people, I've noticed a lot more people uh recently talking about how they wanted to cosplay or stuff went to cosplay, not really knowing what to do or feeling like they didn't have a budget for stuff, and blah, blah, blah. Um, and being on Instagram and TikTok and seeing the number of different ways that people have been able to approach cosplay that are cost effective. I mean, it's still time consuming because you know you're putting things together that from scratch. But like an episode that would really benefit listeners who are interested in getting into cosplay and learning how to start and learning what materials to avoid, what uh what techniques to use, um, you know, what would be cheapest and most cost effective, how can they, you know, use uh a small budget to amp that up to being like really dope quality that they feel like they would see on any other cosplay that they really admire. So stuff like that would be really, really cool. Um I also would really like to do more gaming episodes uh to kind of echo Kaze and the Doctor, uh, because one of the things that I've noticed more during the panorama is the different issues that come up or quote unquote unquote controversies that occur. Um some of them are very real controversy, some of them are just uh blind nerd rage and um very worthy of examination and criticism. Um speaking of nerd rage, I think that we should have a nerd rage episode. Oh no, no, no, no, no. And I let me let me finish. Let me finish. And I think we should have a nerd rage episode because it would it could be like a spoof kind of parody episode where we like talk about petty things that we that got on our nerves that we don't really care about is like actual problems with some of the stuff. But you know, it'd just be funny to have like I guess kind of like if you think of it more like a roast of a roast of some of our nerd stuff.
SPEAKER_05That I love that I love that idea.
SPEAKER_08So a blurred roast, yeah. A blurred roast. Damn, that sounds good. I maybe got like a pot roast with some potatoes. Oh no, I just made a pot roast.
SPEAKER_05Oh, I'm a potato.
SPEAKER_10Uh okay, was that the last one? Uh I mean, I know it's not the last one, but is that the last one for today? No, right.
SPEAKER_08My last one for today is also we should also have a nerd rage episode where we criticize the community for things they get upset about.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I didn't take out Nerd Rage. I have Nerd Rage and I have Blur Roast. They're gonna be two separate things.
SPEAKER_08Oh, fantastic.
SPEAKER_10Yes. Now is that the last one? Um I should probably stop asking you because you're you're coming up with new ones. So I'm gonna go on to the next person. Oh, wow, shame. Uh you're already too quick on your feet, so we'll be here all day. You already like doubled everybody's list combined.
SPEAKER_06Unless you love it. We love it though.
SPEAKER_08Do you have another one? Thank you, Simon. At least someone loves me. Do you have another one? No, I don't have another one.
SPEAKER_10Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02Joe Tsg. Hello, it's me. That was so unnecessary. Uh, so as everyone was talking, I was actually writing a couple things down. Um, the first one was Disney's influence on anime and vice versa, actually. Well, because I was gonna say something similar, but I couldn't. Um, especially after watching like Ikanto, there was a lot of things that um were not necessarily anime tropes, but things that I just kind of connect from a few anime shows that I've recently watched that kind of reminded me of them while watching Ikanto. Um, the objectification of women in anime, because I rewatched Fire Force lately in Tamaki. Oh, um, and then talking to um Samurai Shample, I there's a couple more thoughts I had when I decided to read through Fire Force. So um I'm gonna need to get that out at some point. Uh maybe during the Nerd Rage episode, which was actually one of my thoughts as well too, that we should probably do um uh anime influence on mainstream media and why it sucks. Uh, but also to essential anime classics that if you are a so-called anime fan, you have had you have to see. I don't it's not DBZ is not on that list. It's not on that list. One piece, as great as the anime it is, it's not on that list, and it's not on that list. Um we we can argue about FMA, but it's cool. All are great, but like they're not. They're not. Um, and uh that was it actually. That that was my oh, oh, I would like this. Is more for the social media side of of the podcast, but a maybe a a pets anime cosplay. I would like to see. Oh what?
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's cute. Very cute.
SPEAKER_02Just like you know, people Blair's dressing up their cats or their dogs or their hamsters in like anime cosplay. I think that would be really cool.
SPEAKER_08And I'm gonna give you this, I'm gonna give you car, and we're gonna have a whole little shoot.
SPEAKER_02Something like that. I I think fun ways to kind of incorporate our social media more so into um I don't know. What am I trying to say?
SPEAKER_06Y'all would like to donate a costume to Mello.
SPEAKER_02Baby girl, baby girl, I gotta cut you covered, got it covered. The problem is getting him stealing and catching him, finding him first, catching him, and then getting him in it is gonna be the problem.
SPEAKER_06Oh no, that's not hard.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Well, yeah, no, we got that covered.
SPEAKER_08I mean, there are two toddlers who grab him all the time. So I'm just gonna go. All the time. She's not a toddler.
SPEAKER_02Mental health and pets, that could be another topic. Is that your last one? Um, but yeah, that's that's it. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_04All right, how about Miss Sayone Cosplay?
SPEAKER_06Okay. Um, I'm a huge advocate for mental health. So I know uh last year and the year before, we were kind of talking about um, I guess, our mental health that we struggle with, so to speak, but I would like to focus on what are the steps that we're taking to heal from um our, you know, heal mentally and emotionally this year. Um, and you know, just more so like what are the steps that we're taking instead of coping, actually trying to help heal from it. And I think that we focused on coping mechanisms, but coping doesn't actually fix the problem. Um, so more so like what are we doing um this year, or what are our hopes in our future um to do to kind of help heal emotionally and mentally? Um so I definitely would like to focus on that. Um, I love uh Miss Skittle's idea about black love, and that is so broad, and that's something that uh I would love to touch base on as well, um, because it's something that we don't see enough of. Um, you know, we might hear about it, but we don't see enough of it. And I would love to kind of, you know, broaden that and and and have it more exposed on a social aspect. And um I would also like to talk about cosplay and social media and how it can kind of be a downfall. Um, you know, uh and yeah, we a lot of times cosplayers will talk about the negative of cosplay, um, how it can affect us emotionally um and mentally as well, and how it can be very, very draining. Um, you know, trying to constantly keep up with content and then also kind of like our self-validation. So that's definitely something that I would like to touch base on as well. Yes.
SPEAKER_04That's true. Okay.
SPEAKER_08That was highbrow content, people.
SPEAKER_10No, no, no, it really was. Um, so of course, if we have any uh I probably should have done the other two. Hold on one second. So let me go back really quick because that was a lot. Um, so yeah, like I said, for anybody listening to uh this episode who would like to uh um either be a guest or has any input on uh first of black McCoy's content, uh, you know, blurred queerness, um, gaming controversies. I know there's several uh listeners who are YouTubers or influencers who do YouTube videos on gaming controversies. So we would definitely love to have you on that episode when we decide to do it. So just DM us so we can coordinate. Um, Nerd Rage and the Blurred Roast. I I would I would love to go as far as for the Blurred Roast, kind of like they do actual roasts, like picking a specific topic, telling people ahead of time, having them send in certain roasts about it, and then us just going ham, roasting whatever it is. Still saying, you know, certain positives, but talking about the obviousness. I think that'd be amazing. Um, of course, for cosplayers' journey, I think it would be amazing to have um, we of course have three phenomenal cosplayers on our podcast, but also to have the stories and the journeys of other cosplayers, uh, again, doing maybe small vignettes or, you know, just giving some uh some positive words and affirmations for future and upcoming cosplayers who, as all of our cosplayers uh have said many times, um don't know how to start, think it's very difficult. They see all these, you know, larger-in-life um cosplays, and they're like, it's I can't do that. And you know, I've said that many times myself. And you know, one thing I had to realize is cosplay can start, cosplay can be anything. You choose what your cosplay is going to be. Uh never set yourself to somebody else's box of parameters of what cosplay is. And you know, you can start right. And you can start in any uh by any means, with any means. Uh, don't ever feel like you know, money is a factor, just is the only factor. Don't ever feel like talent is a factor. You literally can cosplay as anything with anything, however long it takes you, whether it's a a second to buy it, or if it's a couple of years to form it, you can do whatever you want to do. So um, I definitely would like to have a lot of other um cosplayers uh uh input on that. Joe TSG, you had a question? Or something?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I actually wanted to just follow up with what you were saying. Um, don't forget that cosplay at the end of the day is just an art form, artist objective. So just starting out with a simple thing, give yourself the grace to just take it step by step and and um really show off your creativity at the end of the day. I mean, that's all it's really about.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, yeah. And I wanted to piggyback on what Joe was saying. There is a a particular cosplayer on that I see on Facebook, and it's an Asian cosplayer, and it he will use like things around the house to create to create hilarious and he the creativity, things that I would never have thought about. And this is things around the house, like maybe like a macaroni box, and it'll turn into like a Dragon Ball Z character, but it's funny as shit. And he'll use his cat. So it's like again, it's things that he has his own cosplay, you know, but it's all about creativity and and what where your where your thoughts kind of like you know start and then the finish product. And I always look at him because anytime like I think, oh, you know, I'm not good enough. I'm like, listen, everybody has their own niche about how they want to go about things. And for him, I think he's brilliant because I've never seen creativity like that. And it's very low budget. He literally just uses shit around the house. Um, and so, but yeah, that to follow off with what Joe was saying and uh Suchi, it's it doesn't necessarily have to be you have to be incredibly skilled or talented at sewing, or you know, it's more so just like your creative thoughts and how you bring new ideas that probably nobody else thought about.
SPEAKER_10Exactly. Yep. Um, yes, and then uh to follow up, uh Joe TSG. Uh yes, uh I would love to have a because kind of like that moment of uh Kaze and Joe TSG about the cult classics. Um, I definitely would love to see, you know, what other people think because I know it's not just one thought. I'm sure there's a wide idea. Um, and and we're not talking about gatekeeping, we're legitimately just talking about, you know, things that you need to watch. Go ahead, Joe TSG. Continue.
SPEAKER_02I'll once you're finished, I'll follow up. Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_10So we're not just talking about, you know, uh as as they alluded to, we're not talking about, you know, say your Dragon Ball Z's, your one piece is. Yes, those are, you know, amazing anime individually. And if you want to watch it, you can watch it. But we're just that there are certain ones that can better form or change the way that you look at anime. You look at, you know, television and cartoons, uh, because you know, the art style, you know, as you know, Sayone Cosway always says about the different shading, the colors, the vibrancy, uh, the darkness that might be on screen, uh, the shadows, you know, whatever's used by the artist, uh, those are the types of things that, you know, I see out of that episode. Not necessarily um, you know, I don't know if everybody sees that. Um, but yeah, you know, different, different anime that and anime animated movies that you should watch and will change the way that you look at uh these different uh about the the the genre and whatever genre of anime that you're looking at. Go ahead, Joe, TSG. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So one of the things that have been irritating me as of late is when people are critiquing shows and they immediately say, Oh, I hate this or I hate that. And I think when you say you hate a specific a specific show or a cartoon, that's fine. You have a right to state how you feel about something, but don't also forget that there are people who are behind these bodies of work as well. And I can't stand when we're as much as I loathe certain characters or or dislike specific characters, it would be unfair of me to really review a show or talk about a show in a negative light, I think. So I think maybe having a a discussion about how people view specific shows, animes, whatever. Um about the how there's just different techniques, lighting, how all of those things kind of influence how we absorb shows.
SPEAKER_08The different aspects, it sounds like the different aspects of like visual storytelling.
SPEAKER_05Thank you.
SPEAKER_08Visual storytelling. Yeah, yeah, pretty much.
SPEAKER_10I know Sion Akasco's gonna love that one.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, I I I can't help it but to pay attention to color and a shading. Um it's it's more important than think people think about it, I think, because it's very psychological as well.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, especially when you're someone who's who reads the manga and watches the anime and you notice they'll chick they'll they'll pick the animators will pick specific scenes and animate them in a way that almost combines a lot of the other panels from the manga to kind of give off a different feeling. Um or why they choose, you know, maybe a face shot that shows the character just realized something versus them doing something more in your face.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And even a manga is black and white a lot of times. So I I feel like manga sometimes they better I would say capture the essence of shading because they only have different gradients of black and white to work with, but they sometimes can do it better than when it translated over to color, which is very interesting to me. I don't know. Um, I don't know if it's more so as like the the shot. Um, you know, that also is like, I guess, like I don't know if it's called staging, but kind of like the shot of like the character, because even different directional points kind of will give you a feel of if a character has dominance or if a character has maybe like a status, just even by like we still we still want to have the episode, you know. Oh shit, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I think I I I think it's okay to get our ideas out so that we can have more of a fully fleshed idea of what direction we want to take the actual episode in.
SPEAKER_10You're right. And we could also do that after this episode is over.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we uh yeah, we got a whole year or so or whatever.
SPEAKER_10The doctor, you had a point though.
SPEAKER_07Oh yeah, so kind of going back to what Joe mentioned about um, you know, how we hate certain things or like, you know, kind of being somewhat respectful of, oh, this is a work that's don't put a lot of um effort into and whatnot. Like, I think it's worth having uh you know that conversation even just expanded to a lot of forms of media around basically this idea with like hating for clout, which is a huge thing that's like kind of jumping on a hate train because it's popular to hate on X, Y, or Z. And you know, really this is like I would think of this in the context of like video game characters that hate on, you know, and how like these kind of hate, oh I won't say I don't call it the right word, but I have to hate training. So like just really focus on like, oh, like hitting on a character for like X amount of cloud or something like that, and what really drives that mentality, or the idea that, oh, because you hate something, it means something is bad. Like, oh, this is a bad character because I personally hate this character, like the flaws in that mentality because you know, a lot of like what we hate on has nothing to do with if something's good or bad at all.
SPEAKER_09Like that's that's so huge.
SPEAKER_05People cannot sound like cancel culture.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, sounds like what culture?
SPEAKER_05Cancel culture.
SPEAKER_02Even that, I think also people tend to find things that they relate to that they may hate themselves for in certain characters.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna say you're always hitting it like the same reason.
SPEAKER_10Don't say Cora. I'm gonna say Kora.
SPEAKER_08Always don't say Cora because I tell people every time the reason motherfuckers say Korra so much is because they see themselves in her.
SPEAKER_02But also, too, like I see there's things about Aang that I see my that I kind of see in myself, um, that I have had to work on as of late. I mean, you know, your your hero grow back. I knew you were gonna do that. Oh, I don't care about my hair. That's that's actually the best part about Aang that I love. Um but more so like him seeing the good in people when he probably shouldn't. Stuff like that's more so. But anywho, this is a great topic though.
SPEAKER_06Cancel the pro and con of cancel culture. Look at that.
SPEAKER_02I threw out random ass words and yeah, I'm not a topic. Look at that.
SPEAKER_06Oh, there is a topic I that was on my mind. Um, you know, I don't know if you guys remember the uh VH uh VH1, like I love the 80s, I love those fucking things, those are amazing.
SPEAKER_08I would love to have a television.
SPEAKER_06Exactly.
SPEAKER_08I would love for us to pop-up video. What?
SPEAKER_10Yes, like let's let's let her get her thought out first.
SPEAKER_06But I love how we are excited about it because that's like really how I felt. Like I felt really sad when they stopped doing it because I would love to do like I love a 2010s or I love like a 1990s, or like because I I love how we all connect to certain things, like you know, silly bands for the other generation and slap, slap, you know, I forgot slap bracelets or tamagachis. Like we could do like a boomerang.
SPEAKER_00Tamagotchies, right?
SPEAKER_06Like gigapets, you know, furbies. Oh my god. You know, so I would love to have like kind of like a blurred edition. I love the 90s or I love the 80s or 2000s. So I don't know. Just a thought.
SPEAKER_02I had a random thought about doing like a an anime version of Bad Girls Club. Oh, Jesus. But that's like that could be more of a uh a social media thing.
SPEAKER_10I'm gonna say I can't do that. I can't draw that.
SPEAKER_02Uh but I'm gonna say draw, just like creating like we all pick different characters that you know the bad the baddest bitches of all the of all the animes that we love, and then kind of throw it, throw them all into our house, and who would be the the worst of them all?
SPEAKER_06Oh, that sounds like a design idea, I guess. Uh design idea for um for the blurred creations in uh you know urban and better yet.
SPEAKER_02We could do an episode and then create merch to advertise it.
SPEAKER_06I'm just saying that's what she said.
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm just you know, you don't have to be just reiterate. That's it.
SPEAKER_10I already know as that is gonna be somewhere up in there. I guarantee you somebody's gonna excuse me, I heard Ezeth.
SPEAKER_09Just zoning out, so right.
SPEAKER_06So Ezeth, excuse me, what I'm sorry, hey, hey, hey, I you know the smallest child had to take hop in the shower real quick, so yeah, no problem, not zoning.
SPEAKER_10No, there was just a there was a particular idea that came up about um kind of having a bad girls club of anime, and I said if each of us chose one, I knew somebody was gonna bring Ez Def to the house.
SPEAKER_06So that's a tough choice between Ez Def and Harley. That that's just difficult.
SPEAKER_08I mean, we can see Hisoka is also in that house because you know can't keep a baby bitch.
SPEAKER_06I love um uh not powder. What's her name? From uh Jinx, Jinx, Jinx, yes, that's a crazy bitch, and I love her. Like I like her a lot.
SPEAKER_09Jinx from uh arcane.
SPEAKER_06The arcane. Oh, watch Arcane.
SPEAKER_09Oh we gotta do it, we gotta do Arcane episode.
SPEAKER_06And the money, thank you, thank you. This is a new one.
SPEAKER_02Absolutely as long as Irene Del Syrian is somewhere in there, I don't care. From Fairy Tale, Urs, Ursa Scarlet's mom. Yes, I just she just needs to be in it somehow. That's all I'm saying.
SPEAKER_05She can be the house mother. She can crazy, I tell you.
SPEAKER_10Anyway, I'm sorry, sidetracked. All right, uh, yes, and then um we would love uh uh for you know, again, talking about uh those who listen, uh, we would love for those who have any who are blurred who have any input on you know mental health. Um, any, you know, of course we have the doctor and Sayane Cosplay who can give their input. We want to see if we have any um either psychologists or any people who you know are special who who see themselves as specialty blurred psychologists that can definitely give some input on the mental health episode, uh, as well as um uh I I guess I don't know how we would do the black love one. I mean, I guess everybody can, you know, who has black love can put on black love. So love for myself and I am black.
SPEAKER_02So it's all that kind of I think that should work. Oh but yes, uh mascot episode. A what a series mascot episode? Series mascot, yeah. You know, like like Pikachu for Pokemon, you have Agamon for Digimon, you got I don't know.
SPEAKER_10A series mascot.
SPEAKER_02There's so many like um there's so many animes that have like specific characters that repres represent.
SPEAKER_10Oh, you're talking about the um like the poster child, yeah. In a way, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, so you mean cyclops and um uh what's that other uh Captain America is gonna be in there too? Who X-Men? He's the he's the poster chat.
SPEAKER_08Oh, I thought Wolverine was the poster chat.
SPEAKER_10Oh, he is now he used to be, but I guess Wolverine would be now. That's true. Yeah, uh poster chat. All right, so Kaze, your turn, righty.
SPEAKER_09I was debating uh writing things down because I want my turn to be too long, but uh what do we want to start? Uh well, in a general sense, definitely uh uh coming back uh in on the uh uh game, uh more more gaming episodes. Definitely, definitely big on those. The there's a broad spectrum of uh topics we can um dive into. And uh any and you know, and I even like uh and not just in the gaming, but I kind of like the episodes where we weren't talking about things that were necessarily uh, you know. concrete but like uh just you know let's just like the stuff like you know what would you you know like what is you know what is your ideal version of something or if you could create XYZ what would you you know we can do that with gaming or anime or any number of uh uh things uh I think I would like more uh uh I guess kind of like you know like uh deep like deep dives like just having like you know we we we we're really good at having like you know good conversations and I think we could uh uh like like on as an example uh that uh the the final scenes in Mishoka Tinsei uh just like just uh like they are words to be had um and uh what else um yeah would you like to call that anime final moments um I don't want to be that specific gotcha okay I mean we still gotta do our quarterly reviews so I mean I mean but that's why I said the final moments more so like the final moments of an episode like something like almost like a uh uh scene shifter something like you like it's happily going along and then oh shit kind of like the every episode of Japan the end of every episode of Japan sings Japan Sings was not as bad as y'all made it out to I didn't say it was bad I just said at the end of every as far as like oh shit like I was like oh like there was really only like one of those for me and I was like oh and then the rest I was like damn damn yeah there was a lot of things that happened for Mercury I mean I th I think you just got desensitized but it was seeing it seems how these were not super anything people who to who was like just the the worst thing they had to deal with that was not getting their coffee like the month before these those are very traumatic things they had to deal with uh but but anyway um there's a live action version of it too um of Japan sinks yes it's on Netflix yeah I don't think I want to watch it she's not as bad as the um no yeah yeah also also based on a book yep um but look out for Japan stay afloat for the next few years but yeah definitely uh in the spirit of like you know just getting more into the nitty gritty of like you know big impactful moments whether it's in a game or an anime um and I guess to that same uh uh and I don't know where it's not coming to me but um going in that same direction I guess uh I guess uh you know I kind of I I think we kind of veer away from topics if uh if too many of us can't uh uh you know can't can't like kind of jump in or if it's not everybody's cup of tea so I think some uh some blurred spin-offs where two or three or four of us kind of jump off to the side and do like a you know deep dive like we've been uh like me I've I've been I've been trying to get Suchi do this wrestling episode because that's very since our inception and uh um not you know I've been watching lately but um but definitely you know me Suchi and uh and two or three and two or three other people we know uh could definitely just go you know go on um go on and on about wrestling uh you know uh me me and um uh me and some people I know can go on uh on about uh trading card games uh that's that's uh that's I think uh that's a light a nice section of the spectrum we haven't really uh very covered just uh you know just just hit you know like we had that had uh we had we we had that uh the LARPing episode that was a nice uh you know avenue just just hitting the rest of this uh of this range and um you know seeing who else we can uh grab and entertain and uh yeah let them know that uh we you know we thinking about them I would love to do more of the LARPing episode that was so much fucking fun it was fun I loved the characters like they brought me attitude I was it was just giving and I just really was for it and it was something I've never I heard of it but I actually never saw it and anytime I actually saw it it was of white people and not of like black people so yeah the most black people I saw in LARPing was in Hawkeye.
SPEAKER_06How dare you accurate but damn that that just happened so I would love to bring back the LARPers because they were everything and I loved how inclusive they were because they're like anybody can LARP but I'm like oh I didn't know that I thought you had half a script you know and and I was really immersed you know apparently you had like a uh a treasurer so to speak of like this community who you know I love I love all of it I was really into their world and I wanted to know more and I thought it was like a beautiful marrying of cosplayers and LARPing and how they're different but similar at the same time so I'm so down for another episode with them.
SPEAKER_08What if we did like uh a mini DD campaign for oh get the fuck out my head I literally just said that to my like not like a whole campaign where we're like going for like a while but just like you know I literally just said that we all get together and do it.
SPEAKER_06I was like have y'all done a D have we done a DD episode and then he was like I don't think enough police will play DD outside of Joe TSG and Kaze.
SPEAKER_02I was like I think it'd be cool to like stream that live maybe do a like a D D so I watch a lot of videos but like I have not had any people to actually play the game so that would be actually pretty cool.
SPEAKER_03And I believe the doctor also I'm willing to learn like I always would love to like learn and and I feel like if we do it it'd be really entertaining because we'd probably be drinking it'd be really yeah there are a dark elf effects I've never played D D without alcohol somewhere in your butt.
SPEAKER_10I mean you kind of have to no you don't but you kind of have to I'd be afraid um to be honest oh my best makes it no no the fear is I'm I I think you all know me well enough to know that I'm very persnickety about following like directions and I feel like if all of you are drinking and y'all go off on the rails I'll be like okay you'll be the doctor then internal panic attack like we're not following you can't handle this like then we'll then we will then we will make you the DM oh god no that because the DM has to keep all of us in check and that way he can't do that outside he he would have to be like he would have to be one of the he'd have to play a character. Oh all right um and then she comes on camera yes coming where are you going today looking like she hulk with that hair gotta advertise that's why shopping thank you I'm sorry it took me like it took me forever brows like y'all don't understand how long it takes to do brows to make them look symmetrical like you know I'm saying like not like cousins twice removed but like random like have we thought about doing like a makeup episode you know I tried to get Sayone to do it but she was like it can't just be me and I was like I don't know who else does make it love to do it but I didn't both her and Tiffany love to do it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah but but but Miss Kittle specifically said I'm not as good as Sayone cosplay I was like okay but I don't know how this is gonna work okay that that is I'm just trying to be a problem of talent that Tiffany is oh man no this is what happened last time like you my boy I mean I'm definitely down we can combine our skills together and do an episode oh my god I'll be the model I was just about to say that so let's get the three of y'all in the same room and we'll just sit with the black McCoy down and then I think it'll be you know just to be even let's add me to that way we have it don't get the four of you in a room I think also making that into like a skincare episode as well may also I was just thinking I need another I need a facial moisturizer but um okay I got about 300 Korean products I will help you with that.
SPEAKER_10I would love to body paint like the black McCoy or Joe TSG so you got a lot of landscape on uh Joe T Sg's head so I think that'll work. You know what y'all I've been taking boxing classes just to let you know. That was all love that was that was love. Maybe some love taps um I'm sorry Kaze did you have uh any other I got the last one I have is talk oh which I here I I asked you a question I'm about to talk over the question that I just asked you but I was gonna say is I love the idea of um continuing to reach out to the rest of the spectrum because we talk about the spectrum all the time but you know and we restart of course we had the LARPing episode but you're right you know we haven't you know card games DD there's a bunch of other avenues that we haven't touched on yet or spoken to yet so I think to you know add to uh Kaze's point I think we need to use 2022 as an opportunity and this of course goes to the listeners as well to you know find other aspects of the blurred spectrum and speak to them um and have them on episodes talk about the different topics you know of course we talk about anime and gaming and television and movies and you know these different topics but we want to make sure that there are avenues that we haven't that we know of that we haven't brought to the table and we definitely want to start doing that this year.
SPEAKER_02Oh what yeah just maybe a filler episode but just random Japanese products like for example you got me these little cats for Christmas and I have and I I saw the video that just hit me. Yeah but in 2020 half of those things aren't even relative anymore.
SPEAKER_06You're right so you know just a just a random episode about just you know just weird products things that make you go why Japan Why Japan there's the episode name oh there was a book um it was just kind of when when Joe said why Japan and then when you were talking about different like blur things um that we could talk about so there was a a book that came out I think either in the early 2010s and it was like Japan in the weirdest inventions it was like a book of like weird weird shit like an umbrella when you're taking a bath it was just very it was just very very strange like all the things like as you've seen on TV but magnified to absolutely ridiculous shit. So that that would actually be very a very it could be an episode of why Japan like why where did this come from so that that was something that that Joe kind of brought to my attention but cryptocurrency that is something I would like to talk about um why are you scratching your head I don't I don't like so I was gonna say too we could we could we have not had really any technology episodes that's what I mean but also to I think both me and sushi we work in IT so it's kind of like I'm having fun or even talking about the um the art the NTPs I forgot what it's called whatever the fuck it's called like like things like that. Well let's just talk about blockchains too then damn oh so should we do a financial episode is really saying yeah like a financial episode because especially during the uh the pandemic a lot of people have gotten more into bitcoin cryptocurrency um you know and just I I guess because a lot of people got laid off or they went back to work and be like fuck this shit I'm gonna just go home and and figure it out um because this is better that I'm self-employed. So um a lot of people there's definitely been a spike in cryptocurrency during the the pandemic. So that could be something that we can talk about or you know how people are just kind of like coping with that or what's the best way to kind of learn how to navigate because I think all of us I could it's safe to say that we've either heard of it or we might have some stock so to speak. So just kind of like how do how black people and how do we navigate through stock or what are you know of course it's kind of for me I feel like stock is more like predicting with statistics, financial statistics but it's there is no set like goal um you know when it comes to stock so to speak but I guess just kind of like an avenue on how to start um what are some apps that we could possibly look into um you know just kind of give us like some points on how to go about cryptocurrency or just dealing with um stocks and and and and things like that.
SPEAKER_10Okay. We uh what funny enough when we first were starting the podcast that was on the horizon and I just didn't know how to introduce it because we were talking about you know everything else other than that. But yeah I think that's a great idea. I know oh we had to hit up Mike I was about to say Mike we could also hit up Mac and then Shammy B. Um you know uh uh Dr. Quinzel can also participate Joe can participate of course I can participate like I'm supposed to teach a class on it so yeah I could participate that's what I'm like uh you want me to you want me to you want me to teach um uh oh yes Joe did you have another point that you could just have your hand up I wasn't sure I did but I lost it's it's sorry yeah you kind of actually answered it okay awesome uh but yes I think that's a great idea Sayane uh so yeah I definitely have that in the bonus uh notes along with Arcane and the mini D D campaign uh Kaze I apologize once again did you have any other topics that you wanted to talk about uh well they're they're they're gone now oh god no I'm sorry oh shit I feel bad it's it's it's it's I have I have his number uh okay so other than uh well that was Kaze's last one and then of course like I did before uh obviously like I said you know we want to reach out to the rest of the spectrum so for those who are listening and those who are friends of those who are listening who aren't listening yet who should be listening uh if you hear if you have any uh topics any aspects of the blurred spectrum that we have not talked about that you feel like we need to add here is the time please DM us uh share it with us let us know uh not only can we talk about it have an episode about it we can definitely bring you on and discuss it um also uh I love the idea of the blurred spin-offs um I don't think we even need to change the name I think that's pretty I think that works uh where we have you know instead of the full cast we can have a couple of us you know kind of spin off into smaller either episodes or YouTube videos or we go live something of that nature where you know we can give you know certain um you know uh we can discuss and it can be full blown episodes just with a smaller group and guests kind of going along with what Ms. Kittle said as well by having more guests this year we can do that by having more uh smaller spin-offs with smaller uh uh smaller groups of us uh being able to talk about other topics and this also covers being able to reach out to other aspects of the spectrum because uh as we said before you know I don't I've never ever played DD uh would I shave I'll see how it goes but I know for a fact that Kaze, the doctor Joe uh uh and um uh Shammy we have and they can easily uh get another group of people and talk about DD and then maybe we can go into the episode afterwards. So all of these things are possible. Uh so if you have uh uh those who are listening if you have anything you would love to add feel free to either DM us or you know uh go to our mailbag and then um I did want to ask you said big impactful moments gaming or anime were you talking about like uh moments that hurt you moments that changed you kind of like that in anime and gaming like stuff that like the type of when people say something that lives rent free in my head like something that happened in an anime or gaming that forever is in like the I don't want to bring it up but I have to uh but uh like um uh Tucker from uh FMA oh geez and it's see see see how that's a big impactful moment if you know what the hell I'm talking about you'll forever remember it so kind of like that is that what you were going at get uh getting at yeah yeah yeah really anything that uh that just anything that just kind of bears talking about that uh that either just kind of won't uh it's it's it's kind of like if we were to do like a like say if we did a general like Michoke Tensei episode right now we would probably talk about that moment like a third of it.
SPEAKER_09Yeah so so I think like so things things that like just deserve their own discussion and and are probably going to be part of the kind of zeitgeist and people like it like people gonna be talking about it anyway and like so so it's kind of like you know just let them know the the the spectrum is a part of that conversation.
SPEAKER_03Gotcha okay yeah so were there any other bonus points that anybody came up with while listening to everything else that happened during the episode that I can write down right now before we wrap up nope nobody no awesome sauce all right part two about villains I knew you was a villains part two well that's gonna be in March anyway so all right because I think everybody's doing villains in March so it seems like yeah yeah actually nope nope not gonna do it yep so villains part two I got one thing um oh I know right if you sleep I don't know if this has ever been talked about I forgot how old this movie is now but uh passing oh the one that came out last year yes we can talk about that I just I still need to sit down and watch that but yeah oh my god he had the nerve to watch it while I sleep that's that's Tessa Thompson right yes gotcha I just want to make sure I said her name oh yeah that looked triggering it did which is I haven't seen it it was triggering oh and there you go I saw I saw one little trailer I was like the the trailer did everything for me I was like oh I know right I said that I said that to the black McCoy the black was going oh what is this movie about passing um so uh the movie the quickest of the story of the movie is pretty much takes place in the common 1920s and it's pretty hot yeah and um pretty much the story is about two friends both of which are able to pass for white people they are black one of which decides to use that to pretty much make her life as a white woman and the other one um who's able to pass never does and it's about how their friendship how they they recreate their friendship but also it's uh it plays on the idea of how one wishes she hadn't done what she had done to live the life that she lives and how the other kind of wishes she had taken that chance as she had actually taken that chance at trying it it's pretty much a comparison of you took the what you thought was the high or actually better way to say it's like the idea of greener pastures and you find out they're not so green on the other side. And that was what the one that was passing kind of goes across. She comes across the idea of everything she gave up to be white and the other one is looking at everything that she might have given up to keep her blackness and they do that and they do that comparison quite a bit throughout the whole movie. I'm sorry and it's a it's a very the way they do the the mental anguish of both characters and against each other is kind of is is really it can be triggering but I think it's really enlightening uh in a lot of parts of the movie. Yeah if you get a chance give it a shot interesting is it kind of like um Lovecraft country no no it's not isn't this is not this is not Lovecraft country at all this is not even like straight 1920s like this is straight black and white yeah this is straight 1920s old New York like New York black and white type film like this oh no I'm talking about when she like yeah I'll think about her too many yeah when when she was a white skinned student so this is literally she was bright enough she's just white she's light enough and changes the only thing she really does is change color of hair outside of that she's just really light skinned it's not oh she's like she's basically just a white she's a white passing black person like like like this you'll watch the movie it's like how the fuck did that happen? Because I remember for a lot of movies I was like how do they not know that she's black but uh but I feel like we know a nigga when we see one exact exactly but it's like but uh I say her husband yeah her yeah uh but yeah it was pretty much like that's right the way that movie goes it's a lot of you gave up this for this and now you miss this type of and it's literally just the how both of them wish they had the life of the other. Yep and then you know like I say it goes like I said greener pastures type thing where you think the path you think the grass is greener on the other side but it's really not and um you're comparing it to the life of another person who thought the same thing. As well. So it's just a it's a wild, wild and very interesting movie. Also quite entertaining. Like as everybody said, there are some triggering moments, but it just depends on how you look at things, to be honest. Some of the times it's not as triggering as you would think it is if you just kind of look at it from another perspective. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That'd be a good topic for Black History Month.
SPEAKER_10Easy passing. There's the episode name. All right. All right. Any other topics?
SPEAKER_09Bouncing off that just more uh movie uh topics in uh general. I thought we had a lot of movie topics, but sure.
SPEAKER_10There we are. I feel like movies were second to anime.
SPEAKER_09Uh like like subtract a marvel. What movie have we talked about? Oh here we go.
SPEAKER_10Yeah, to be more specific, but yes, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_09Nope, those points would be more general. Let's broaden our horizons.
SPEAKER_10All right. So since those are all the we have a lot, that's like two pages of uh topics. So we go, I I think we'll be good. 2022 is that all right. We just have to organize the calendar, exactly, and and the spin-offs and and the side streets and and the videos and the D table and all of it anyway. So nothing but time. You said what?
SPEAKER_02Nothing but time, you're right, and COVID and conventions.
SPEAKER_10We'll see how that works. I'll be at home, home conventions, lots of that. That wouldn't be a bad idea. Actually, let me write that one down. All right, but like I said, wrapping up the episode, as always, we want to give everybody the opportunity. We we already talked about ourselves, but now we're just gonna give you uh the opportunity to uh talk to us uh by telling you where you can find us. SPEAKER_08You know, I know that's I will I will make a point to include it in the intro.
SPEAKER_09Okay. Oh man, but uh yeah, you can uh you can catch me on uh the gram at uh bear3b. Um and uh yeah no that's it.

SPEAKER_10Oh Lord. All right, well, uh oh, and then of course you can find the blurred spectrum. Um blurred spectr wait, no, yes, blur, wait, yes, the blurred spectrum on uh Twitter and then blurred spectrum on Instagram and Facebook. Uh probably the opposite of that. I'm not really sure. And then any videos that we do will be on uh YouTube, uh first Umbral Starcade, and then eventually on Blurred Spectrum. Um, and then of course, as I said before, you can DM us uh on Instagram or you can uh send a message to our mailbag, which is the Blurred Spectrum at Umbralstarcade.com. Like, like I said, this is a very long list. And please don't think that we like pre wrote this, like literally, this was off the dome today. Uh, so please be ready for all the stuff that we're gonna do this year. And uh uh we would love to hear your input as well as we move forward. So, uh, as I always say, and I'm gonna say again Sayonara.
